#ooof #i may be a jack of all trades of something lmao #hopefully i can fix my cousins leaking shower faucet #im guessing its the cartridge since the knob cant turn it off anymore maybe the rubber gasket finally wore out #going to need to buy soem waterproof silicone grease for the o rings to lubricate the new cartridges o rings before installing #got me the core puller since i dont want to break the inner part of the old cartridge #then wed need a real professional LMAO with the tools to take the broken stem out #so hopefully im able to take out the old stem safely #and then go to home Depot and find the same cartridge #installing it is the easy part taking it out is the hard part #turn off main water #pop off the top of the handle unscrew it from the stem #pop off the handle #then the metal tube #take out the tab holding the cartridge in place #then safely and slowly use the core puller to take out the old cartridge #after taking it out inspect for brand or any numbers if none go to home Depot and look through there catalog #then simply push the new cartridge in making sure to keep the moon side down so the water is off and not on the on position #then turn the water on before or after putting on the handle to see if the cartridge is facing the right way #so the water comes out cold then hot #hopefully it goes well and i fix there water #they spent 600 dollars on water cause of the leaking tub #im definitely going to have to get paid for this one if im able to fix it LMAO the parts are not cheap #knowing my cousins they'll probably just buy me something to eat and try to play it off as payment but not today 😂#will see on Friday when the core puller comes and ill just go to the plumbers store for the water proof grease/lubricant #ill update My Internet diary on Saturday LMAO 🤣#i honestly need yo start writing in my journal again im so inconsistent its my worst traits rn

Does anyone actually think the character of Meghan Wallaby was transphobic writing or is it just a niche thing from the same kind of people that don't see the satire in the NRA bumpers or forget for the 'Apache' tracker was frequently called out as an appropriating racist so say the writers are racist. Every so often I remember when that was floating around and it feels like a fever dream.

#I'm not saying WTNV is beyond criticism #all writing can be criticised especially when it's an outlet for the creators political and moral opinions like WTNV #but there's also people who just love to tear into pop media because it's popular #and the problematic elements pointed out usually are more 'off colour' or 'handled poorly' than actual big issues or signs of bigotry #except ofc when they're not because they're also all over the creators personals which is no longer about WTNV I'm just rambling lol #wtnv

So I finished mazinkaiser awhile ago after months of procrastination on it and for one reason or another I’m not gonna give my solid thoughts on it but there is one specific thing I wanna point out, not as a critique but more so a confusion. That being: I find it weird how Mazinkaiser isn’t the turning point for Mazinger where they finally go “hey the robot is sentient” because it’s not yet near the end literally EVERYONE talks to Venus A as if shes actually a person:

I’m not saying this as a criticism for the reason of my already biased to vaguely sentient robots-because as much as I prefer this angle with mecha, I understand not every and all mecha can approach this because sometimes the robot is JUST a narrative tool and not a character, which is fine-however I’m confused with Mazinger of all things didn’t take this approach when there’s already so much emphasis on Mazinger being tied to gods. I mean, apart from the fact the robots are based off Greek Mythology and there is a constant message of “will it become God or Devil” which feels like it warrants this enough, it would start to make sense if the robot grew sentient because Mazinkaiser is treated as the ULTIMATE Mazinger. (And where have we heard a case where the “ultimate” form of a robot starts to be the one that displays more self awareness *cough* GETTAH🗿)

Especially also within this ova- it seems to do stuff on its own accord to PROTECT Koji, like going on auto pilot as he’s knocked out and somehow keeping him safe from being burned alive in magma, but I cannot tell if this IS a indicator Mazinkaiser is actually sentient or if it’s just all auto pilot. Oh and it’s a more minor thing but also just- the human poses Kaiser and Venus take during the beach episode… I cannot tell if that’s something they wanted or if their pilots just posed them comfortably because lines seem to blur with the robots just being treated as the extensive of the pilots. (Venus is literally based off of Sayakas appearance after all)

It’s just weird Nagai never went this route and just stuck to metaphorical stuff, when it feels like SOMETHING he would do given the nature of his stories and yet the only fully sentient Mazinger media I know is Zero. Of course I still have such a limited window on Mazinger so if this is me actually being wrong please feel free to correct me, but I still will never not find it weird Mazinkaiser lacks this aspect asides from maybe vague allusions to it that may or may not be implying it. Maybe if I ever rewatch it or find more Mazinkaiser content specifically I’ll be able to piece things together a bit more.

guys I just survived a ladder that wanted to kill me. cheers

#context- I work odd jobs in film production a lot. I recently picked up a new part timer filming high school football games #this particular one was an hour and a half away so needless to say I was already mentally preparing for a LOT #and I got there and the spot where they wanted me was on the ROOF of the press box. which I knew beforehand #what I did NOT know beforehand was that the only way up or down was a ladder that pops down from said roof #which would’ve been okay but I was carrying three equipment bags like a pack mule #so I climb the ladder and even that was fine until the top step #I faceplant straight onto the roof because there is a barrier that’s like a foot long between the ladder step and the roof floor #so. rough start. but the view is great and once I’m up there it’s kinda fun #until. UNTIL. I wanted to go pee because again. hour and a half drive to get there.#said barrier made it so you have to climb down to get to the ladder step and railing and I pissed around playing chicken with that thing for #for an HOUR playing chicken because I could not fucking handle it #so I get through the first half okay but decide that I’m booking it to the bathroom the second halftime starts #and I forced my fat arse over the ledge and I figured out a grip on the trapdoor thing that helped keep me from falling #and I felt like I’d just made a person break cause like. I genuinely was not sure how the fuck I’d make it down for a bit #after that? might’ve been the high of Doing The Scary Thing but the rest of the time I had fun #I got a nice coach in the press box to help grab my bags as I handed them to him so I could climb down to leave #drove an hour in pitch darkness on country roads to my boss’s house to drop off the footage then 20 minutes home and now #and now I think I could sleep forever and ever but I fuckin did the thing

i can't be THAT mad at my uncle for throwing out my recycling bag in the trash this morning because he was just trying to be helpful, and it of course looked like trash but also like.

i had it leaned against my door to the garage as close as possible. it was out there for one day (i normally keep it in my tiny room apartment but i moved it because i had to move the table) it was blue and clearly printed with recycling. it was filled with washed bottles, cans, flattened cardboard, etc that i collected over the past month. it was not in a trashbag. i have always taken out my own trash.

AND HE THREW OUT THE SUPER NICE QUALITY REUSABLE BAG TOO? like it would be a total nonissue if he just turned it upside down in the trashcan (one month's recycling going to the landfill is the least of our planet's problems) but dude. he threw away my bag.

not to sound like hannibal lecter over here but having your own Outrage, lovingly handcrafting it over months, and not being able to use it beat the crap out of annoying people? I bet that just eats you up doesn't it. sorry this came off sounding really mean. truly though it breaks my heart because you deserve to beat up people that bother you with a flaming magic sword. -🐇

Oh, don't worry, it is VERY sturdy. I could definitely swing this thing at someone if I wanted. The handle segment might pop off again, but the rest of it? Impressively durable. There are two approximately half inch thick all-thread metal rods inside it bound with washers, epoxy, super glue, and heat that melted the plastic together; then a thick layer of Bondo on the outside with more super glue, epoxy, and green stuff (a type of epoxy putty). Its only weaknesses are temperatures over ~160f/71c and running it over with a car haha

#asks #I'm not actually sure if this thing is convention legal. It isn't sharp at all but it weighs 10lbs #It'd be like swinging a giant hammer at someone #160f won't melt it but it makes the PLA soft and pliable. It doesn't melt until 212c (413f)#The filament I printed this with is a PLA/TPU polymer so it has the rigidity of your standard plastic but-#-TPU is more like rubber. Combined it becomes a strong plastic that bends instead of snaps #Standard PLA is very brittle. If you bend it to a certain point it shatters. This PLA+ will just bend unless you REALLY force it #My only regret wrt this thing's construction is that I didn't install the one rod up into the handle the whole way #That made the 'body' segment heavy with a lot of pressure between the 4 handle pieces and it #It's not enough that I think it would be worth the effort taking it apart and installing a third rod though (which is why I didn't)#It just gives it a concentrated weak point that I need to be careful about but the epoxy made it solid as hell #I'm not very concerned about the handle popping off again unless I try to snap this thing over my knee or something #WHICH TBH WOULD HURT MY KNEE A HELL OF A LOT MORE THAN THE OUTRAGE LOLLL #Bringing up the construction of the Outrage activates me [positive]
