🐍 same, there were many things i did not enjoy about HoO but leo is one of the highlights i will always treasure from it. in fact I made my OC just so I could make them be friends with him bc it's like an old childhood dream of mine 😭 it's several years late but i will do it anyway. have u ever made any pjo ocs?

I read your post and i agree with you so much!! EN did jamil so dirty and just the few changes they made to his lines flipped the entire dynamic between him and kalim and basically completely erased how tragic and difficult their situation is, and portrayed jamil as basically just someone throwing a fit over something easily changeable when it isn't. I play on JP so I was so surprised to see the changes EN made, it sucked seeing so many ppl hate my fav

oh nooo yeah if both riddle and jamil are in the athena cabin i have no clue who'd become the head counselor... this is so hard, if only we could have more than one :(. Kalim'd def be in a different cabin at least, but just him being around camp would make it so much harder for jamil to be himself, it hurts my heart. there are so many ways you can write this and it all has so much angst potential. on the other hand you're so right abt the missed leo nico friendship bc i always intuitively felt they could've be good friends without knowing why, but your analysis puts everything into words and makes me even sadder we had such a missed opportunity... like cmon rick....

idia labwear groovy but nico is actually so funny - nico ominously approaching cats with his hands out like the grabbing emoji when nobody is looking and completely unaware how scared the cats feel, meanwhile all he wants is to spend some time with kitty before the chain sneezing sets in

I love your ideas abt the outfits I think they fit super well!! if i get around to doodling the characters in a twst au i'd like to reference your ideas if that's okay with you! They'd both probably attempt to wear the uniforms as a full set in the beginning then decide it's way too much of a hassle/feels too stiff (totally not an excuse to want to draw them in the full outfit), then begin modifying things so it felt more like themselves, though at least I think they both would like the ignihyde uniforms better than the other dorms, igni's seems more casual and practical than the other ones imo. for some reason i feel like the savanaclaw colours would look good on leo, i just picture yellow being a nice colour on him - but leo in savanaclaw would just be like him stuck with a ton of jocks feeling confused why he's even there lool

also imagine leo meeting ortho, he'd be so fascinated that something like ortho was possible and be inspired to make a robot of his own (twst festus origin story?) idk if there's a robotics club but i could see that being leo's club of choice, nico maybe board games... which means he'd meet idia and azul omg, what do you think?

sorry it took me a bit a longer to answer this time. i haven't!! i don't make OCs super often in general, i don't even really have one for twst haha, but i love seeing all the creativity other people put into their OCs.

yeah exactly!! i do keep up with the JP main story updates and have read most of the JP events through fan translations, but i started by playing on EN. and i feel really lucky that i recognized the words for master and servant and could tell they were mistranslating some things, because i can imagine that otherwise i would've come out of it hating jamil for "betraying" kalim too. instead i loved him and was a little annoyed with kalim until book 5 showed more of his growth. i don't ship jamil and kalim but i do love both of them and it's sad that the complexity of their dynamic got watered down so much... i will note, though, that the app is rated E10+ on the google play store and 4+ on the iOS app store, so my guess is that higher-ups at disney thought the actual story wasn't kid-friendly enough.

something else to keep in mind with athena kids that i actually sort of forgot about until recently, is that they're all claimed from birth and therefore are pursued by monsters from birth :( and then also the fact that athena is a virgin goddess who just sort of gives babies to people who might not have been prepared to have one... i bet that would make things so much rougher for riddle and jamil. some other ideas i had are that if jamil's parent was a minor god, it could be nemesis (goddess of revenge) or terpsichore (muse of dance). and for kalim, if his parent was an olympian it would be either dionysus or apollo and if it was a minor god it'd be tyche (goddess of luck and fortune). like you said, there's so many different ways i could see their story going in an AU like this and they'd all be so angsty.

if you wanna see more analysis on how nico and leo fit together there's some stuff i've reblogged from others in my valdangelo tag! not all of it is necessarily romantic, i just basically use that for anything about the two of them--and a lot of the reasons why people like the ship are reasons why they'd work platonically as well. but yeah one of my biggest criticisms of HoO is how even though i like all the new characters for the most part, i feel like their relationships to each other were largely defined by romance (and i don't just mean the actual couples, but also the frank-hazel-leo love triangle for example) and a lot of potential was missed because of that!

oh yeah go for it!! feel free to use pretty much any of these ideas we've been brainstorming as basis for your own headcanons and stuff, i don't mind at all. and like i've been saying, if you did draw anything for this AU i'd love to see it. i can definitely see that about leo and nico both trying on the full uniform and then quickly deciding not to bother with it anymore lol. i imagined them both not wearing the tie because i just think nico wouldn't really want to and that leo might not even know how to tie one AFSKJGHDF. do you think leo would add any other accessories or personalization to his school uniform? also, i was thinking, i totally agree that they'd both like the ignihyde uniform, especially nico because it resembles the bulky jackets he normally likes to wear! but i wonder what nico would wear for a dorm uniform if he transferred to ramshackle... according to one of silver's voice lines at least, they canonically don't have one, so maybe he'd just wear, like, a my chemical romance shirt and call that a uniform lol. or keep his ignihyde uniform and confuse everyone.

omg, i love the thought of leo meeting ortho and being inspired to make festus because of him. he'd definitely be so fascinated by everything ortho could do. as for the clubs, i saved this excellent post about NRC's clubs for reference a while back, and since no other existing clubs were mentioned in either of the camp vargas events, i assume that that's all of them. but afaik there's nothing that says leo couldn't start a robotics club, and i'm sure there'd be people willing to join! out of the existing clubs i can totally see nico being in the board game club, i think that'd be a lot of fun for him.

What I Think About Some Canon and Fanon Ships!!

Canon:

Romione (ron x hermione): Cute!! they have been through so much together and just fit together. Their fans are also really nice and pure (except for some Lavender haters)!! I do have different characters that I ship with them more (fanonically) but for canon, they are really good together!! 8.5/10

Hinny (ginny x harry): Meh.....not my most favorite ship ever but still pretty cute.....I think it was just kinda too stereotypical (his best friend’s sister has a crush on him) blah, blah, blah! I think it would’ve been better if Ginny was just more confident and independent (like she was in the books) but overall it’s a pretty decent ship. 6.5/10

Remadora (tonks x remus) : Pretty good but I ship wolfstar!! I honesty think Tonks was lesbian or aroace or something like that, and Remus was prolly bi/gay. It still was a cute ship and we got Teddy Lupin out of it, so no complaints there. I wish it would've been developed more because it didn't have the best storyline/backstory. Overall a pretty good ship tho! 6.8/10

Bleur (fleur x bill): I really liked this ship!! Especially how Fleur said the whole line after Bill became a werewolf (cuz that was perfection)! I'm kinda sad we don't get to see a lot of this ship in the books/movies but it's still great! 9/10

Charry (cho x harry): One of my least favorite canon ships tbh......cho wasn't (emotionally) in the best place after Cedric's death so I have no idea why she would want another relationship so fast!! also, she was quite jealous and untrustworthy of harry (after the whole harry/hermione debacle) which isn't the best thing to be in a relationship....3.9/10

Voldytrix (voldemort x bellatrix): ugghhh yuckkkkk.....this is like one of the main reasons I hated the book cursed child....also, voldy-moldy had no "heart" so he couldn't "love" and Bellatrix only "loved" him not her own husband.....this ship was kinda just one-sided so was just a horrible ship.....why was this even a thing?! -∞/10

Deanevra (dean x ginny): I think this was a pretty cute ship while it lasted. The only thing that was kinda weird was how they broke up......ginny broke up with him because he was helping her get through a door....it kinda looked like j.k.rowling (who I do not support btw) was trying to make it misogynistic but it just ended up weird...nonetheless, it was a nice ship while it lasted. 7/10

Jily (james x lily): This is one of the best canon ships out there, everyone knows that.....the only thing I really didn't like about this ship was how James kept pursuing Lily, even when she said no......it's supposed to be romantic but it kinda edges the line of harassment.....and James was a bully soooooo......but I liked the ship when they were out of Hogwarts....then it was cute and pureeee!! 8.3/10

Marthur (molly x arthur): this ship is freaking awesome!!! it really highlights was a good parent should be to their children (not all the time tho.......*hint, hint*, percyyyy) overall a 9.1/10

now for Fanon

Perciver (Percy x Oliver): THIS IS MY FAVORITE SHIP OF ALL TIME!! and it has sooo much potential!! it could be enemies to lovers, jock x nerd, muggle au, fake dating, friends to lovers, soulmates, there was only one bed, etc.....and omgtheywereroomatesssss.....they probably aren't the very most affectionate in person but just by themselves they are!! overall, I think they compliment each other very well and are just two adorkable boys!! ∞/10

Deamus (seamus x dean): such a pure ship oml.....I think it would've taken some time for them to realize they were bi/gay/queer and liked boys, but when they did, they would be really affectionate and stuff 10/10

Linny (Luna x Ginny): such a pure ship too!! this gives me jock x nerd vibes kinda like percy and Oliver, and is probably such a cute ship. I doubt they would be overly affectionate like deamus but probably would be more affectionate then perciver. I think this would be the start of ginny's bisexual days 8.9/10

Rarry (Ron x Harry): kinda like a friends to lovers thing going on!! I think they would compliment each other very well (even tho they had their differences) and would be a great ship!! 8.7/10

Dramione (Draco x Hermione): No, just no. I don't think I would want by bully to be my boyfriend/crush unless he completely changed himself (which I do not think Draco did)......so no.....but it's better than like Snamione/Snarry/Sneville 1.2/10

Snamione (Snape x Hermione): No again. He bullied her a lot, and was like 2-3 times her age (I get that some people like that thing but I don't so sorry) so nooo 0.9/10

Snarry (Harry x Snape): he bullied him even more than he bullied Hermione....not my ship so sorry about that 0.5/10

Sneville (Neville x Snape): No, no, no, no!! no way.....Snape bullied Neville the fucking most out of everyone else and Neville was deathly afraid of Snape (Snape was his boggart in 3rd year) so no 0.1/10

Percivercus (Marcus x Oliver x Percy): finally!! a poly ship!! I think ship would be really cute cuz it has friends to lovers and enemies to lovers all in one!! it has lots of potential, much like perciver, so cute ship!! I think this is a really good poly ship and I rate it 9.5/10

Dreville (Neville x Draco): eh....I’m not really sure how to feel about this....if Draco is the same brat he was at school then it’s a big fat no, if he’s “redeemed” or trying to, then maybe? It’s better than Drarry and Dramione, at least. 4.3/10

Wolfstar (Remus x Sirius): Absolute beauty of a ship. It’s probably my 2 or 3rd most favorite fanon ship! they really complement each other and are just so cute!! Though it must’ve hurt for Remus when he thought/realized Sirius was a spy (cuz he didn’t have all the facts)!! 9.1/10

I feel slightly relieved to have finished getting ready and am now sitting next to Winnie in the back of the car. With her being her usual looming self, I pull my phone out and finally find the courage to read the texts Bucky sent earlier. “At the park, wish you were here.” I scroll through another, “Can I drop by your place later?” and another, “I miss you.”

I’m trying to suppress a smile, knowing his mom is right beside me. The both of us are waiting for Vision who’s our main driver for tonight, and well, every night to be honest. I look at my wrist watch, Bucky’s probably five minutes away from the airport ready to pick up the twins. I realize I forgot to inform Wanda about the sudden switch when my phone vibrates. I peek at Winnie who’s occupied on her iPad and I answer the call, apologizing to her before I do.

“Where are you?! I’m already with Pietro!” Wanda doesn’t waste her time.

“Y/N!” I hear Pietro shout in the background.

“About that... I can’t make it, but-”

“You can’t make it? You forgot, didn’t you? I just told you this morning. Who’s going to drive us?” I turn my head closer to the door, maybe I should get out the car. Oh, Vision’s already out the door, I guess I’m going to continue whispering and hope Winnie doesn’t get annoyed.

“I didn’t forget! Okay, I might’ve. But I got it, someone’s already there to pick you guys up.”

“And who might that be? You know I don’t trust ubers.”

“He’s not an uber.”

“Who?!” Is she really asking me? How do I tell her it’s Bucky, without telling his name? I’m pretty sure I don’t need to turn the phone on speaker for Winnie to hear the whole conversation, seeing as how Wanda is too frustrated.

“You know! It’s-” Bucky.

“Who?”

“Wanda, you’re ridiculous. He drives a-” wait a second, Winnie probably knows what her son drives. “A car.”

“Brilliant description, I completely trust you to describe the suspect when you witness me getting murdered.” Winnie interrupts me, eyes still on her device.

“Who’s gonna pick us up Y/N?”

“You know Ja-ah- Bu--- JB…” Winnie whips her head at me, I suddenly panic. “Justin Beaver.” I continue, and face Winnie, putting my hand on the receiver, “it’s my friend’s bachelorette party, JB is the stripper’s name I hired for her.” Where the hell did that come from?

“Do I look like I care? Finish that phone call quick. It’s draining my brain cells.” Winnie responds.

“Right.” I say.

“Justin Beaver? Stripper? What the hell is going on? Y/N?” Wanda interjects.

“Wanda, you buffoon, you know who JB is. The JB from last night - and every night, you know, JB.” I’m really embarrassed about this, what is happening?

“Oh! That JB. I get it now. So, where is he?” Wanda suddenly calms down.

“I’ll text him, your number so he can call you when he gets there.”

“Okay. But I’m still mad at you for forgetting.”

“I’ll make it up to you when I get home.”

“You better.” I drop the call and text Bucky… JB, Wanda’s number telling him to call her when he gets there. Amazing, now my boss and our driver thinks I hang out with a stripper every night.

When we get to the venue, it’s spunky, music from the 2000’s playing in the background, I try to hide my amusement, I feel like I’m a youngin bopping to T-Pain. Winnie rolls her eyes and proceeds to walk as I follow her. The benefit was organized by the students of the Fashion Institute with the theme revolving around RnB, and I have no complaints. I’m surprised we even came, if Winnie knew this was how the whole thing was gonna be, I doubt she even would’ve RSVP’d. We proceed to her table and sit down, and I scan the crowd for anyone approaching, making sure I prep Winnie on their backgrounds before engaging in conversation.

Winnie’s smile is beautiful, she should win an Oscar for this acting alone. Our table of ten is slowly getting filled leaving two chairs, one on each our sides. I scan the people on the table as Winnie converses with them on matters I have no idea on, and it registers to me that the seat is for George Barnes. I excuse myself from the table and I walk to the organizer posted near the entrance.

“Hi, can I ask who responded no, on table one?” I say and the young man shuffles through the sheets on his clipboard.

“Table one, one -- Barnes, George. That all?” I nod slowly at his query.

“Thanks,” I reply turning my body to head back to my table. It’s not my job to make him come, but I feel a little bad for my boss and think that two weeks from now, I wouldn’t feel anything about it, nor know of any solution to fill that seat.

When I get back to the table, I see Steve sitting on the seat next to Winnie. He gives a small wave when he sees me, just as Winnie glances among the other people in the table. I give him a quick smile before taking my seat. Winnie’s in an ongoing conversation with one of the elders at the table, she can’t help but respond considering she’s a lot older than my boss is.

“Nice to hear both the Barnes men are back in New York.” her wrinkled lips painted a ghastly magenta. “How long has it been?”

“A year, Cecil.” Winifred quipped keeping it short. I pore over Cecil, stop asking my boss. I haven’t been working for Winnie that long. How did she manage living alone in that house for a year?

“Is George not coming tonight?” Her tone playful.

“He’s busy with work, how’s the divorce coming, Cecil?” My eyes grow wide at Winnie’s response, Cecil became suddenly mute. Steve swoops in and changes the conversation as the staff start serving food. He and Winnie get into a very deep conversation about his and her son’s latest project venture, and I continue chewing on my food. I wonder how Bucky’s doing? I hope Wanda and Pietro aren’t causing him too much trouble. I text him and ask him, I’ll probably need to call him later.

One of the performers start singing on stage and the lights are dimmed down, warm light focused only on each table as we eat our dinner. The singer’s voice is sultry and beautiful, it’s amazing how her voice sounds like a perfect record. People have started standing up and dancing, slowly swaying to the beat. A romantic jive of rhythm, I smile when Steve asks Winnie to dance. She’s reluctant at first, but eventually agrees. Among the people on the dancefloor are Tony and Pepper, nodding politely at Winnie’s direction when they see her.

I continue munching on my food, hiding in my little space when I feel a tap on my shoulder, it’s one of the staff, with a bouquet in hand. I look at Winnie, George might actually have changed his mind.

“Is this for Winifred Barnes?” I ask, picking up the flowers.

“No Ma’am, it’s for you.” Oh, so maybe it’s from Bucky? I don’t think this is a good idea, giving me flowers in a crowded room.

“From who?” I ask and the waiter moves a little to his left to reveal the sender. The tall meaty long-haired blond, I despise so much. He waves and smiles at me, and I raise both my eyebrows and mutter an “oh,” gently lifting it up and giving a fake smile as a sign of thanks, then I shake my head. I give it back to the waiter.

“Thanks, but tell him – no thanks.” I say as he confusingly accepts the bouquet back. Before he could walk back to Thor’s table, he’s already halfway near mine.

“She’ll take that,” he says when he’s within earshot. I roll my eyes and rest my elbow on the backrest of my chair.

“I won’t,” I smile at the waiter.

“She will,” Thor sputters, nodding.

“Nooo, I won’t.” the waiter sways himself left and right not knowing where to give it.

“But you love flowers.”

“Yeah, you’re right.” I say and he quirks an eyebrow. “But not these flowers,” I continue as I push the waiter lightly in his direction.

“Why not?” he pushes him back to me.

“Because these flowers are from you.” I push the waiter back.

“Take the damn flowers,” I hear an elderly woman in my table shout, it’s probably Cecil.

“I would, but I won’t. You can take them though.” I beam at Thor.

“Yeah, y-you really should, Ma’am. I’d like to be out of this situation.” The waiter interrupts.

“Good idea!” I grab the flowers and hand it to Cecil. She happily accepts and hugs it like a baby.

“Hey!” Thor loudly whispers, I give him a shrug and the waiter takes the opportunity to escape.

“Can I get the man too?”

“Why yes, Cecil. You can get him too.” I say turning back to see her blushing.

“Y/N, I need to talk to you.”

“What is it?” I respond, my back turned.

“Outside.”

“What a request.”

“Please?”

“For Pete’s sake, talk to him! Or I will.” Oh Cecil, I honestly have no problem with you talking to this man.

“Y/N, please.”

“Go. Away.” As I say this, I see Steve and Winnie coming back to our table, and I feel relieved. Now Thor can’t bother me.

“Thor Odinson!” Winnie greets him, what?!

“Winifred,” he smiles and they hug. Steve stands behind her, smiling at him. Okay, at least Steve doesn’t know him. What a leech.

“What are you doing at our table?” I hear Winnie say, and I huff – what reason could he possibly say?

“I’m here to talk to your lovely assistant, apparently I’m having a hard time hearing her response.” I whip my head at him, the audacity.

“I told him, you were on the dancefloor, that he should wait until you came back.” I say looking into his eyes.

“As much as I’d love to converse with you Winnie, I’m very curious to talk to Y/N,” how confident has he gotten? How is he so sure Winnie would even let me-

“What are you waiting for, Y/L/N? Get up.” Winnie commands. What the hell just happened?

“Thank you, Winifred.”

“I don’t think she wants to though, pal.” Steve interjects. I silently thank him.

“She does,” Winnie peeks at Steve then back at Thor. ”I should be thanking you, poor girl doesn’t have a life outside the office. Here she is thinking she’s too big for a supermodel.” Ouch? That stung. Steve’s face is etched with concern, but he gives me an apologetic smile. “Thor, I’d love to see you on the cover of The View, soon.”

“Wonderful, I look forward to it.” Thor nods then offers a hand to me, I ignore it and push my chair back, hitting him before standing up. I hear Thor wince and see Steve smirking, I wrinkle my nose at him.

Thor walks me to a balcony, leaving the loudness of the benefit muffled behind us. There are only few people on the balcony with us, mostly smokers and having conversations of their own.

“I don’t see why you need me seeing as how Winnie’s already fond of you. You can stop sleeping your way to the top.” I say before he says anything, he looks appalled and I’m fairly satisfied.

“Y/N, it’s not that.”

“Then what is it? Make it quick, I don’t have time for leeches.”

“I want to apologize for what happened to us.”

“Is that all? Are we done?”

“You’re not hearing me out.”

“Yes, I am, Thor. You don’t just come and talk to me for no reason. There is always a reason, I know you’re not apologizing to me because of your morale.”

“Y/N, I really am sorry. I didn’t mean for those things to happen, we were so good together.”

“Were we?” I respond in a sing song voice. This is all a business deal, as far as I know.

“We were, we had fun times. I picked you up from work every day and then you’d drop by my castings and cheer me on like the greatest girlfriend you were, then we’d grab pizza at your favorite place. Everything was simple.” Times with him back then were simple, and they were comfortable. I thought I was secure, turns out he had bigger dreams and no care on how he gets it.

“Where are you getting at? Simple doesn’t suit your current image. Are you getting married to Jane? Is that it? Are you apologizing to all your exes before you tie the knot? Because if that’s what this is, then yes I forgive you, okay? Can I go now?” I didn’t expect to see him smile at what I said.

“I broke up with Jane.”

“Hold up, what?!”

“When I saw you at McDonald’s the other day, I just knew it wasn’t right.” I have a hard time taking him serious at the word McDonald’s. “I didn’t realize how much I missed you.”

“You are insane,”

“I am, I know that.”

“Come to the fashion ball with me.”

“I’m in a relationship, Thor.”

“With who? I don’t see you posting any photos online. Who could be better than me?” Is he really asking me this? I laugh, oh mister.

“You don’t even wanna know.” My lips turn up, he’s way better than you.

“Oh, I do.”

“You don’t.” Gosh I want to punch this guy; his ego is off the roof. That’s when I realize what this is. “You’re going to use me again. Come to the fashion ball with you? Why? Because Jane doesn’t work in the same industry? Leave me alone, Thor.” I start walking away and he grabs my arm, I pull back and his grip tightens.

“Why do you say that?”

“Because I’ve known you long enough to.”

“Please, Y/N.” He pleads.

“Thor, you’re hurting me.”

“I’m not using you. I really do miss you.”

“You just made yourself from douche to creepy real quick, Thor. Let. Me. Go.” It’s official, I’m going to break his wrist off. I don’t care how hard it’s gonna be with his size, I’m going to.

“Hey there cowboy, I think she doesn’t want to talk to you.” I hear someone behind me and when I look, I’m surprised to see her wink back at me. It’s Dolores. “Let her go.” Dolores’ height is towering over me, Thor only a few inches taller. He lets me go and before he can even say anything, she cuts him off. “Leave, before I scream and the photographers get their hands on their biggest paycheck yet.”

Thor closes his eyes for a brief moment, breathing heavy before leaving. I wrap my hand around the wrist he was holding, feeling a little pain.

“Who was that guy? Can’t really have everything huh? He’s cute but he’s got the attitude of a high school jock.” Dolores chuckles, drinking her glass of champagne.

“Yeah, thanks.”

“Hey, I know you.” My eyebrows perch up. “I saw you in Winnie’s office.” Oh, thank god, I thought it was something else.

“I’m her assistant.”

“Oh, I see. I’m Dolores, by the way.”

“Yes, I know you. I’m Y/N.”

“Cool name. Where you seated?”

“At table one,” I smile.

“Of course, Winnie always has the best seats.”

“Which reminds me, I need to get back. Thank you for saving me earlier.” I can’t believe this is the same woman who came with her aunt the other day.

“I’ll walk with you, can’t have that barbaric blond hollering around.”

“You don’t have to,” I laugh.

“Nah, it’s fine. I’m on my way back to my table too anyway.”

Half an hour had passed and Winnie finally wants to head home. I’m sick and tired of this place, my run in with Thor earlier only ruined my night. Winnie didn’t seem to care, but that might be because I tried my best to look normal. I’m glad she didn’t ask me about Thor, or how he even knew me. I doubt she even cares, she was probably just bored. I called Vision and am now getting in the car with her. The whole ride is silent, as usual, but more so because I still can’t get my annoyance from earlier. I hate him. Who was he to think he could just come back and ask me anything again, after all he’s done. Vision drops Winnie first, and I instantly feel ten times more tired than I actually was when she gets out the vehicle. I drift off into sleep the moment we set for my place. Vision’s voice wakes me up from my slumber and I hastily pick up my things and exit. I thank him and he drives off into the night. I can’t wait to get some sleep. I’ve been up since 5AM this morning.

Slowly ascending the steps, my eyes are already failing me, I’m blinking myself awake. A few more steps and I’ll be in my bed, my sweet, sweet bed. When I finally reach the door, I shuffle through my bag, looking for my keys and not one second passes, I already quit and proceed to knocking. I yawn, and click my tongue. I finally hear the door knob turning and I rest on it, ready to fall in Wanda’s arms when she opens the door.

When it opens, I let myself fall and I’m immediately caught. Wow, Wanda feels a little bigger and stronger. I look up and I see a pair of blue eyes looking at me, expression clearly entertained. “Hey doll.”

“Oh my gosh,” I blink still enveloped in his arms. “Why are you here?”

“Not even a thank you?” My cheeks heat up, I feel guilty.

“I’m sorry. Thank you,” I whisper, lifting myself a little higher to kiss his cheek, and he chuckles. “Thank you for picking up the twins for me.”

“Sure thing, doll.” I hug him tighter and snuggle my head on his chest, my body completely limb. He’s really strong, I can’t stand up any longer. “Okay! Maybe we should get you to bed.”

“Where are they?”

“They’re out.”

“It’s already late. Why did they leave you here alone?”

“Baby, it’s only 9:30.” Mmm baby.

“What?”

“Yes,” he says kissing my forehead. “Come on, you need to sleep.” I loosen my grip on him and find balance for my feet on the ground so I can start walking to my room, when Bucky scoops me up and carries me. He laughs at my reaction, and I quickly recover, lacing my one arm around his neck as he starts walking. “Have you been drinking?”

“No, this is how I am when I’m tired.” I whisper closely to his ear, and trail kisses on his jaw. Bucky looks amused and shakes his head, pushing the door open with his feet. He gently places me on the bed and I reach for him. “Bucky.”

“What is it?” He says as he takes my shoes off. Holy crap, I really like this guy.

“Can you stay?” I slide my arm across the sheet like I’m making one wing off a snow angel.

“Oh, Doll.”

(matcha latte anon🍵) hello carol!! first up, i wanna tell you that i love reading through your posts alot!! especially the soft boy™, it's so cute!!! >u

matcha latte (!!!) and the second time i met him (which was 2 weeks after), he remembered my order which was really nice and unexpected. also, i was with my friend that day, and i offered some yam chips (in a container) to another female collegue (since i am more used to seeing her, and also because i’m kinda shy to give him). he came to the table and gave back my container, and had a very small talk, in which he offered us drinks/ice cream but we declined. after my friend left, i continued studying and suddenly, he came to collect my cup which i was going to say thank you, but to my surprise, he placed another new cup of matchalatte for me!! i was shocked and didn’t know what to do so i just mouthed a thank you to him. at this point, my heart is already melting, considering this is the first time anyone has offered me a drink like this. we also said bye when he left. our third encounter: the next day, in which he came but i don’t think he had work. he sat at the chair in front of my table, but i was so HORRIBLY SHY that i didn’t look up that much. i have no idea if he was looking at me or not but it remained like this for about (more than) 5 minutes long?? after that, he went to stand near my table and said “no matcha latte today?” so i replied “yea mocha today” !!!! but we were interrupted by the female collegue who said “haha you talking to customer ah” *in chinese* but in like a jokingly manner. then i think the situation got shy and he said no in chinese once again and then we bid farewell :c. it was such good memories and i never met him after that, and i thought i never will. the only info i had about him was that he’s a year older than me. i think i’m a person who falls in love quite easily haha, so i couldn’t stop thinking about it for quite a while. fast forward to jun 14, i signed up for a school camp (i usually don’t go to camps) with 2 of my friends. it was a camp with 5 different schools. as time passed on during the first day,i couldn’t help but notice this guy felt familiar?? i kept noticing the way he talked, the way he walked, and it hinted me that it mIGHT be him ?? (i’m not very good at remembering faces, and also his hair is also wayyyy longer than before) during that night, i was talking to my friend about how i had a feeling that it was him, but i don’t know if i really want to know if it’s him (bc he seemed close to this girl, and my self-esteem is quite low :c). but i decided that i should just ask him. during the next day, i didn’t see him around often, but i couldn’t quite find the courage to ask him, and i don’t really want to do it infront of my friends. when the camp was nearing to an end, i almost thought i won’t ask him, but man i just went with it, go up to him and awkwardly goes like “wait, did u work in a cafe before?” he seemed hesistant so i thought i got the wrong guy, but NO! IT WAS REALLY HIM! aaaa but we got interrupted again, and one person asked if we were cousins LOL.we didn’t manage to talk alot, but found out we’re in the same school??? but he’s year 3 while i’m year 2. once again, i was really amazed to meet him again such circumstances, and that we were in the same school all along?? i thought i would meet him sometime soon,,, but turns out i was wrong.. i didn’t have any contact of him and once again, as time goes by, i didn’t think much about him again. fast forward early to end jul-early aug, i signed up for a japan uni talk (once again, not something i usually go for but somehow did). on that day, i was thinking about how long i’ve never met café guy but was happy cause i’m over it. but life decides to (idek what life is trying to do to me) bring him back into the picture again! i was waiting for my friend when i suddenly saw this familiar looking guy, i only saw him walking two steps (he’s blocked by a pillar) and i had a gut feeling that it might be him. but this time he was wearing glasses and his hair is short now. after seem peaking around here and there, it turns out it really was him??!?! at that point of time, i was very shy and awkward, it was hard for me to say hi or anything, i was just freaking out. to sum up that day, i basically didn’t manage to say hi to him (regrets :cc). but my friend, managed to find a mutual friend of both of us’s instagram. i went to follow him and found café’s guy instagram eventually!! to sum up, i eventually used my main account to follow him, in which he followed back ( that was like almost a 3 day process uwu). also, i dropped huge hints to lowkey scream *i’m the matcha latte i hope u remember me!!!* aaaa he dm-ed me and ask if im the matcha latte girl!!! we talked abit (not alot really) and (yesterday) he said he’s working but at another chain of the café (which is about 3 mins walking distance to the café i met him & usually go to). he asked what time i was leaving, and since i was meeting my friend, i said around late 5 to 6. he then said his break was only at 6plus, so i thought maybe i can wait a little longer to catch him (but i was a little afraid to meet him as well haha) i was going to pack my bag when he came!!! he immediately came to my table and talked to me!!! but my friend called me so i had to pick up, when it ended, he came back to my table again and we talked for about 20mins?? it was nice talking to him (some context: my mind usually goes blank when making conversations with people!!! >u

hi angel!! sorry for the late reply - i saw ur ask a little while ago but bc i didn’t have my laptop (it was off for repairs) i couldn’t reply :(( anyway, it sounds like ur both mutually interested in each other!! i think u should go for it. i mean, from what i can tell, it sounds like u kinda like this guy (u seem rly excited whenever u catch glimpses of him and idk i feel like he definitely made a big impression on u bc why else would u a) remember all your interactions b) get so excited about seeing him time and time again and c) bother to tell me all this, right? ✨) like it just seems like u both have interest in each other but are too shy to make a move. i think u should go for it bc u’ve already nearly lost him several times now - u only get so many chances and i feel like u might regret it if u don’t do anything and just let this opportunity slide… also i think u might be overthinking it - you may be different people, yes, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing?? also u guys don’t really know each other all that well yet so it’s really too soon to be worrying so much, just try to take the time to get to know each other better and then see how things go once u have a better grasp on who he is etc. u have nothing to lose from giving it a shot, especially since u already hope for it to work out, so why hold urself back and deprive urself of something that could potentially make u a really happy? everyone’s scared of things and it’s natural to be scared of something like this, but it would be a shame to let that fear hold u back from something that could be really great

I’m sorry for taking too long to post again, I legit wrote this earlier today while waiting for my dad at his dentist appointment xD some cute Yoongi to you all, enjoy!

Yoongi X Reader | fluffyyyyy | word count: 451

“Jagi! Stop taking pictures of me, will you?”. Yoongi, your boyfriend for almost two years, says in that grandpa voice tone of his.

You look up from the semi professional camera, that was his, at him and giggle before going back and snapping another picture of his lazy self laying clumsily on the couch beside you. He just looked up at you with that iconic annoyed face: the partially wide eyes and his lips in a straight line, as is saying “seriously?”.

Your loud hard laughing echoes through the small apartment you both shared for a few months now when you get to take a perfect picture of his funny face and Yoongi can’t help but laugh along with you, he loved your laugh too much not to. He does the same face again as climbed closer to you, your laugh getting louder as he does so.

“Yoongi! Stop it! I can’t breathe!”. You hit his chest a few times as you see he’s practically on top of you.

“Will you stop taking pictures if I do?”

“Y-ye-s, h-ere”, you said between laughs and handing him the camera.A playful smirk now replaced his funny face as he says. “My turn”.

When you realize what he said, you let out a girly scream before running away. He quickly chased after you, around the living room into the kitchen until you make the regretful choice of running to your room. Yoongi didn’t lose the chance to track you down onto the bed, straddling your sides with his legs so you wouldn’t scape.

“Okay okay! White flag! I give u-”. Snap, he takes a picture of you. “Nooo~ Yoongi!~”, you cover your face and another snap is heard. “You’re beautiful, Jagi! Let me take a picture of you, c’mon!”.

You shake your head “no”, but he has a plan B. Yoongi holds the camera in a way he can press the button with only one hand as he uses his free one to tickle you. “YOONGI! NO! HAhahAH! StO-o-Op… hAhaHAH!”, snap… snap… snap. He takes three pictures and stops the tickles.

“Aish… jjinja! I hate you!”, you hit his chest once again with your eyes still closed. He carefully places the expensive camera aside and leans in, kissing you before you could open your eyes. “No, you don’t”. He says once you two pulled away, smiling like idiots at each other. “C’mon, let’s take some selcas together and then go get something to eat, shall we?”. Yoongi said as he grabbed the camera again and layed down beside you, holding you in his arms. And yeah, his idea was exactly what happened next.

When Autumn Comes I Still Think of You (Haikyuu!!, Natsu / OC) I want to say I’m surprised (because Natsu is a child in the manga, and I paired her with an OC in this !ten years later fic) but at the same time, I’m not, because the HQ fandom is so huge compared to the fandoms I usually write for so there was a higher # of readers who could’ve found this fic I guess. I’m happy there’s so much positivity for Natsu loving gals and big brother Kageyama though (:

In Darkest Red (Psycho Pass, Yayoi / Shion) Psycho Pass is a p small fandom I think, so yeah, very surprised to see this here? Am attributing it to the fact that this is a relatively older fic (it shows!), been on the site longer, and is of a relatively popular pair from the show. ** the previous fic has 346 kudos, this one has 196! that clear gap created by the sheer size of the HQ fandom.. wow...

You Have Made Me Brave (SDR2, Pekoyama / Kuzuryuu) Big fandom. Popular pair. Sad story with an even more heartwrenching ending. I cracked the code.

The Rain Is Trying to Tell Me Something (Hyouka, Houtarou/Chitanda) Oh hey there you are!! The fic that I’m most satisfied with and feel the most complete about! Burdge drew fanart for this (!!! IM STILL IN AWE AND SHOCK) and that probably helped a lot in getting eyeballs on this. Am happy that this fic capped off my fanfic writing three years ago and am glad that despite Hyouka’s smallish fandom, it’s broken into the Top 5 (:

Like the Mountains (Haikyuu!!, Yui/Daichi) The HQ fandom reasserts its dominance as the biggest fandom despite this being a het fic hohoho. I think this may have been because it was one of the earlier fics written about Yui/Daichi, just as more people started liking the pair?

Mignionette (Persona 3, feMC + Junpei) (not on AO3) THIS is a surprise. It’s Old! You can tell by my excessive descriptions and emphasis on symbolism. And my old habit of just breaking a fic into distinct scenes, focusing on characters looking inwards rather than their dynamics w one another. I think a lot of people just love the feMC and Junpei’s social link and I am glad.

Streets in Summer (Anohana, Yukiatsu/Tsuruko) (not on AO3) WHY IS THIS HERE!! WOW!! The Anohana fandom is TINY! At the same time, I think it was around these fics that I started coming into the writing style I have today. Perhaps that could be a factor too? Or just that everyone, like me, had to consume more yukiatsu/tsuruko content after that open ending.

Today He Holds Her Gaze (Hyouka, Satoshi/Mayaka) Am surprised this has more favs than Queens Can’t Sleep (126 vs 58). Probably because this has a happy ending? But I do think I rushed this too much. If I had written this today, I would’ve added another 10k words to flesh out Satoshi’s conflict. Would they still sleep together? For sure. I am a flawed human being. I even made them do it in ‘The Rain Is Trying To Tell Me Something’. I rmb a couple of ppl not liking that but WELP i’m unapologetic satomaya trash. You can’t help me. I’m hopeless. But if I could rewrite the cringe-y scene here, I hope I’d be able to make it more subtle and graceful.

the colour of youth (Hyouka drabble collection) It’s here because 1) I posted this this year and who reads hyouka fanfic in 2017?? and 2) no one expected me to update my ao3, not even myself.

Venus Rising (Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun, Shizuku / Natsume) Pacific Rim AUs are not unpopular. But... a PR AU of a shoujo manga?? Yeah. Also, the main pair was Shizuku/Natsume, rather than Shizuku/Haru (ew) or Sasayan/Natsume (mmm yeahh).

Flowers Without, Will (Hyouka, Satoshi/Mayaka) Old fic, small fandom!

Colour-coded For Your Convenience (Hyouka, Satoshi/Mayaka/Houtarou?) Oh nooo. I not comfortable w ‘genderbending’ now! It’s a very simplistic and uninteresting way of exploring character dynamics, reinforces the gender binary.... and I didn’t even change their personalities much in this fic!! Also, the name changes are... a cross I will have to bear for the rest of my life. There are nuanced ways to write and explore character’s gender identities but this wasn’t one of them. It deserves to be here haha.

You & Mystery (Hyouka, ensemble detective AU) Oh man. I have a soft spot for this story that was inspired by the Hyouka ED. But, again, the unsurprising result of a small fandom!

Bottom 5 FFnet

But Even Iron Trembles (Persona 5, Hifumi/Makoto) New fic! Surprised that it’s not in the bottom 5 for AO3, but that’s prob cause the P5 fandom is v active over there now. I hope it slowly gets out of this ranking though because I am pretty happy with how it turned out especially since I haven’t written fic for A While. Easily the longest oneshot fic I’ve written too, so that could be a reason why.

We Roar In Our Own Voices (Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun, Hogwarts AU) Oh man. Shoujo manga + AU combi again I guess. This feels like it would really benefit from a rewrite because I love the ladies featured here.

The Stories We’ll Sing (Penguindrum, Yuri/Tabuki) (not on AO3) WOAHH!! I wrote this?? DANG. Didn’t even remember till I saw this on the page haha. Also I think no one really bothers w yuri and tabuki so yeah it’s not surprising.

i hope you don’t mind but i’m gonna rant a bit here cause i need to get this off my chest!! firstly, i just wanna say the hq!! fandom is probably one of the best fandoms i’ve been in for a few years now and i’m v happy in it, but the length this fandom goes to either paint oikawa to be the devil himself, or a literal angel who’s done no wrong is amazing. like, he is probably one of THE most complex characters in hq!! too, and making him out to be either good or bad just ruins everything about his characters that makes him so great in the first place.

(before i go on, i want to mention, the post that made me mad enough to type this went something like “here’s a list of all the reasons why oiks is perfect and good, but nooo keep calling him mean n petty” and basically just overlooked how shitty he treated kageyama, and ushijima (to a degree since ushi did retaliate in his own kinda way but that’s a whole different story and tbh, i could write a novel-length essay based on oiks relationship w/ both ushi and kags hahah).

On the other hand, the amount of posts just villainising him (mostly either new ppl to the fandom who don’t really know his character, or shiratorizawa fans in my experience tho i won’t say they are the only ones who do it cause i don’t want to generalise or anything) absolutely astounds me, so the aforementioned post just pushed me over the edge.

I won’t post a link to the post bc I don’t want to start anything, bc in the end Oikawa is just a fictional character, but I thought this was worth mentioning bc i do reference little pieces of this post, below.)

Okay, continuing on w/ the rest of Oik’s character analysis.

on one hand, he is extremely hard-working and dedicated to his goals, and he is loyal af to his teammates, but on the other, he’s so petty and spiteful, and prideful and while having pride isn’t necessarily a bad thing, having too much pride is. And what’s more is both of these sides of him can be clearly seen within the manga/anime so to ignore one side is just confusing as hell to me.

An example highlighting the negative side of his personality would be his canon relationship with Ushijima. From what i can gather from both the manga and the anime, there are two main reasons why Oikawa really doesn’t like Ushijima; the first would be simply because he always lost to Ushijima i.e. he’s a sore loser, but let me elaborate on this since it’s a bit more complicated. Since he is so dedicated and hard-working, it definitely hurt him a lot that he never won and that is both fair, and expected but A) Ushijima didn’t win just to spite/be mean to Oikawa, he won bc that is the logical thing to do (why tf would u play a sport where u don’t want to win); and B) in canon, it is never stated (and def correct me if i’m wrong here) that Ushijima did not work just as hard to get as good as he is so saying he doesn’t deserve to win is hypocritical af (also, i don’t think he was said to be a genius like Kags or Noya but i might be wrong on this again so take this with a pinch of salt). And so, bc one of the reasons why he dislikes Ushijima is just simply bc he keeps on losing to him, it kinda makes him a petty asshole.

However, the second reason why he dislikes Ushijima highlights the better side of his personality, mainly how loyal he is towards his team, and that reason is bc of what Ushijima says to Oikawa about his choice of school, and the strength of his teammates (despite the fact that Ushi wasn’t intending to be mean - nonetheless, he did offend/insult Oikawa AND stick his nose where it didn’t belong but this is another thing entirely, so i won’t get into that rn). The best (and only, i think) example of this is Season 2 Ep 25 where Ushijima says to Oikawa that he chose the wrong path, to which Oikawa defended both himself and his team by saying that he did not choose the wrong path and that his volleyball career isn’t over just because he never won and went to nationals. This clearly shows both his resilient nature, knowing that just bc he never went to nationals in high school, doesn’t mean that his vball career is over; and his loyal nature, towards his team as he doesn’t blame them for being the reason why he never went to nationals (despite this being an easy option), and instead feels pride (the good kind) towards his team, and the effort they had made.

Season 2 Ep 25/Chapter 148)

Despite this Oikawa still acts shitty towards people he doesn’t like. A point that was made in the aforementioned post that made me mad, was that, how Oikawa treated Kageyama had little to no effect on him (Kags) later, and that Oikawa felt some sort of remorse towards Kageyama after almost physically attacking him. (And while i must agree that the post did have a few good points highlighting the good sides of his personality, I don’t agree with this point). It is shown multiple times throughout both the anime and the manga, that Kageyama both doesn’t like, and somewhat fears Oikawa and while this is partially due to his skill as a setter, another reason why, is how Oikawa treated him in middle school. If he were intimidated by other setters purely by their skill level and their experiences as a setter, he would not be so intently interested in Kenma back in Season 1 Ep 13/Chapter, or would not be as jealous as he was when he heard Tsukishima had trained with Akaashi (I can’t exactly remember nor find where this was, but I think it was during either the Karasuno VS Seijoh match in Season 2, or the Karasuno VS Shiratorizawa match); but as he not intimidated by them, it shows that there is something else about Oikawa that unnerves him, and that is Oikawa’s personality and how he treated/treats Kageyama. Kageyama even said himself during the Shiratorizawa match in Ep 2 that Oikawa is the only person who scares him. To have such an effect on a person, that Oikawa has on Kageyama shows just how dreadfully Oikawa treated him in middle school and how that effect still lingers despite Kageyama and Oikawa having little contact with each other.

However, Oikawa slightly redeems himself with another example that draws attention to the better side of his personality, and that can be seen when Kags asked Oikawa for advice during Season 2, Ep 6, and Oikawa actually did give Kageyama some very helpful advice (albeit in a less than polite manner, but still give credit where credit is due). From this, it’s very obvious to see how much he has matured during high school because he would NOT have done that during middle school looking at how he treated kageyama back then. This means that he has grown enough as a person to recognise the immature nature of his actions and change them accordingly.

So i think that trying to portray Oikawa as someone who is either villainous (bc of how he treats/treated kageyama and ushijima) or angelic/a victim (bc of how the fandom or ushijima(again) treats him) kinda just, diminishes everything that makes him such a great character in the first place, and that just makes me really mad tbh.

Oikawa just deserves so much better than how a significant percentage of the fandom portrays him :/
