As you said the WH gang is still kinda stuck in the 70s, do they know what iPhones, tablets, earplugs, etc are since Eddie brings new things from the mainland to them? Like I can’t help but imagine Reader having an waterproof iPhone or something as the reader’s of modern-day. How would the gang react to the reader just pulling out their phone from their skin hoolde and starts watching vids or listening to music?
They actually are somewhat up to date with the current world, though none of them really use cellphones as often (mainly because they don't want to accidentally send out any signals to the outside world) unless it's just to text/call each other or have fun. They prefer to keep things a bit old but they won't outright keep out anything modern. Besides, it's important to keep up with the world rather than be in the dark.
However, don't expect the reader to have much privacy on their phone. Watching videos or listening to music is fine, but they'll make sure there is no contact with the outside world (basically hacking the phone to have some control over some things). It seems like reader can watch movies online just fine but for some reason when they try going onto social media nothing loads or the screen goes blank.
Poppy's little cafe is probably the only building that's the closest to being more modern. She enjoys how simplified some people make buildings and how clean everything looks. Expect a modern cafe with a view of the sea and bushes of different flowers near the outdoor deck (courtesy of Julie's gardening skills).
I wanted an excuse to practice perspective drawing and roses.
the first two photos were later sold to a local newspaper and the last one was posted on dick grayson’s instagram with the caption “opps want to see me fall 💪🏋️♂️”
