The BAU’s Whore
Dom!Hotch x Fem!reader x Sub!Reid
WC: ~1.7K
Warnings/"tags": 18+ MDNI sub!reader, sub!Spencer, dom!Hotch, free use (use of “our girl” as a term of endearment), spanking, contracts, agreements, consensual, blowjob, doggy, slight hair pulling, guided deep throat, degradation along with praise of reader, breeding kink, cream pie
Summary: Reader is the BAU’s free use whore. Hotch and Morgan use you quite regularly, especially Hotch. Spencer never has. One day, he walks in on Hotch using you.
Key: Y/N = Your (first, preferred or chosen) name
Y/N/N = shortened form of first or chosen or preferred name or some other nickname
Tumblr media
Gif cred: dudeitiskarev
Tumblr media
Ignore that the Hotch gif is from S3 but the Reid one is from S2
Hotch used you the most. It made sense. He was the most stressed. You spent a lot of time in his office, usually in between his legs under his desk, on his lap, or bent over his desk (and almost always naked).
Poor Spencer would walk in from time to time and his cheeks would be instantly red. The whiplash he got from just talking to you about Doctor Who or Star Trek and then seeing his boss rail you as you’re bent over his desk was insane. And to have Hotch and/or you just casually talk to him while you’re fucking…was enough to make his poor mind reel.
Spencer was not often left speechless, but those experiences never ceased to leave him at a loss for words as he focused on not only your body and how it moved, but sometimes Hotch’s as well (depending on how much skin was showing).
“What do you need, Reid?” Hotch asks as he holds your hips and smacks his hips against yours. You are sprawled out on the desk, your clothes are off and on the floor, obviously having been thrown there without any care.
“Oh um…” his eyes are on your ass jiggling with each of Hotch’s thrusts.
“Reid…what is it?” Hotch asks him, a bit annoyed that he’s being interrupted and that he’s now being distracted by Reid being distracted.
“I…um…” he can’t stop looking at Hotch fucking you.
“You wanna wait until I’m done?” Hotch offers.
“Uh…”
Hotch chuckles. “Have a seat or wait outside.”
Spencer immediately sits down on the couch in Hotch’s office, seemingly not wishing to leave despite his embarrassment. A bulge forms in his pants. Hotch notices. Spencer is trying desperately to ignore it.
“Take it out if you want.” Hotch replies in a tone that is way too casual for the situation.
“Oh no I uh…” Spencer shakes his head. His cheeks are still very red. And he still seemingly cannot speak intelligently.
“You stayed to watch for a reason. You like watching me fuck our girl, don’t you?” Hotch smirks as he caressed your back lovingly before his hand goes down to caress your ass. He then smacks it. Reid winches at the sound. Despite having signed the contract…despite you technically being available for his use, Spencer had never used you and had never thought of you as being “his” or “the team’s”.
Your little whines and whimpers filled Spencer’s ears.
“You can come touch her if you’d like.” Hotch says, not really wishing to share you right now but knowing it was in the rules that both he and Reid had helped type up that anyone at any time could use you and that hogging you was prohibited. The men had a civil agreement about sharing but Hotch could not technically deny Spencer access to you if he wished to have it.
“Oh…I dunno…”
“That’s the deal, Reid. You wanna touch her? You’re allowed to.” Hotch reminds him.
Spencer hesitates still. This causes Hotch to sigh.
“Y/N/N, hon, tell our shy Dr. Reid that he can touch you.” He caressed your ass before he smacked it again.
“Come…come touch me, Spence. It’s ok, I promise.” You turn your head to look at him. You hold your hand out as you beckoned him over.
“See? She wants you to touch her. She probably would love it if you got your cock out and put it in that pretty little mouth of hers.”
(Pronoun or POV switch?)
Spencer cannot believe what he’s hearing his unit chief say about this woman. She was kind and caring and smart. But she was also the team’s whore. She was also currently getting fucked doggy style by the unit chief.
Like a siren, she called to him. And so he stood up and went to her. At her present angle, she managed to help him get his cock out and stroked it.
“Help her out and go over to the side or back of the desk.” Hotch ordered. He’d been next to them at one side of the desk, the “front”. He obeys his unit chief and goes to the back. He pushes the chair out of the way. She reaches forward to stroke his cock. She’d never touched his cock before. He’d never asked or guided it there. Her hand on it felt like heaven, though.
Hotch chuckled at his reaction to it.
“How’s it feel, Reid?”
Spencer doesn’t immediately respond.
“Reid…give her feedback at least. She likes it. Praise her, come on. Tell her how good her hand feels wrapped around your cock.”
“S-so good.” He manages to get out. “God…”
“Let’s move to the couch. So she can be more comfortable and suck your cock, hmm?”
Spencer just nods and follows back to the couch as Hotch pulls out of you and leads you over.
You all position so Hotch is back inside of you and so you can lean down to suck Spencer’s cock. You take his tip in your mouth and suck lightly. He moans.
“Holy…oh my god…”
“You like it? She’s a good little cocksucker, isn’t she?” Hotch said as he patted your bum before giving it a cheeky little smack.
“D-don’t…don’t call her that.” Spencer murmured as he tried not to lose his mind as you took a couple of more inches in.
“Why not? It’s ok. She likes it. You read the contract in full before you signed it. You know what was in there, even if you’ve never used her before now. You know she likes light degradation along with praise.”
“I kn-know what’s in…the contract but I still don’t like to hear th-those…things…said about her.”
“Alright. No party is supposed to be uncomfortable. I’ll respect that.”
“Th-Thank you, sir.”
“You’re welcome. It was all part of the deal.”
“Mhm…guess you’re…right…”
Hotch continued to snap his hips into your ass while you took more of Spencer into your mouth.
“Come on, love. Take all of him in. He’s not that big or long.” Hotch encourages you as he puts a hand on the back of your head and caresses.
“H-hey…” Spencer murmurs, offended.
“That’s not such a bad thing.” Hotch assures Reid. “I had to train her very well and very long to get her to take my cock. Morgan did the same. You won’t be that much of a challenge. She’ll happily and greedily gobble you right up right now. Won’t you, hon?” He caressed your hair more before grasping it a bit and pushing you down onto Spencer’s dick.
“Hotch, don’t-oh my…god!” Spencer choked out as you take him all the way in.
“She feels good, right?” Hotch asks as he looks up at Spencer to see his reaction.
“Mhm…s-so good…” Spencer nods. His mouth is open and his eyes are half shut.
“Tell her how good her mouth feels around your cock.” Hotch pretty much orders Spencer. It’s a shock to no one who is in charge here.
Spencer isn’t sure he can speak. But he tries his best to. “I…god…your mouth…feels so good, Y/N/N. I’m not…gonna last…long.” Spencer pants.
“Then cum when you’re ready. She can take it. She’ll swallow your cum like the good girl she is.” Hotch caresses your head again before trailing his hand down your back to grip your hips again as he continues to thrust into you.
You bob your head up and down on Spencer’s cock. Spencer has a hard time containing his moans and whimpers.
“I…I’m gonna…shi-aahh…” Spencer cuts himself off with a gasp as his orgasm hits him.
“That’s it, Reid. Be a good boy and cum in our girl’s mouth.” Hotch encourages him.
Spencer’s cum spurts out from his tip and coats the roof of your mouth. He shudders as he does so.
Hotch tugs lightly on your hair to get you to come off of Spencer’s cock and swallow his cum.
“You swallow all of it?” Hotch asks you.
“Mhm.” You nod.
“Open your mouth. Show Reid.” Hotch orders you.
You obediently open your mouth to show Spencer that you’d swallowed all of his cum.
“She do it?” Hotch casually asks Spencer as he continues to grip your hips and thrust into you, now at a faster pace, obviously approaching his climax as well now.
Spencer is so transfixed on your face as you’re getting pounded by the unit chief that he forgets to answer said man.
“Reid. She swallow?” Hotch repeats himself.
“Huh? Oh um…y-yeah.” He nods.
“Course she did. She’s such a good girl. Dirty little whore too.”
Spencer winces at the use of that derogatory term. He wonders if you really like being called that but recalls the persuasive essay you’d written. You’d made it clear how you liked a little degradation along with the praise. Hotch had been correct. Spencer cups your face while you look up at him as Hotch is very close to cumming inside of you. That had been discussed as well. Everyone got tested regularly to make sure everyone all stayed clean and no one gave anything to anyone else. But Hotch wouldn’t exactly be upset if he had another child. Jack had always complained about being lonely.
“You look so pretty, Y/N.” Spencer smiles down at you.
“Thank you…Spencer…” You smiled back up at him.
“You ready, honey? I got a nice full load for you.” Hotch warns you.
“Mhm… ‘M ready.”
“Good girl.” Aaron grips your hips as his thrusts stutter and he groans as he empties himself inside of you.
“Reid…go get…a warm wash cloth for our girl, would you? And some water and some snacks.” Hotch pants ever so slightly.
Spencer nods and goes to do what he’s been instructed to do by his unit chief. While he does this, Hotch pulls out of you and pushes his cum back into you with his fingers.
"Gotta keep that in there for just a bit." He repositions you so you're on your back on the couch. He caresses your cheek.
"You were such a good girl for us, sweetheart. I'm so proud of you." He smiles down at you.

okay seriously what's up with the whole "god will save everyone" idea? is that a christian thing??? because i don't understand how 'no one has free will and everyone needs god to have a good life' is positive or interesting or anything except boring and honestly pretty fucked up?
what happened to free will and shaping your own life? what happened to god is playing her own game and not talking to any of us?
good omens is satire, do you really think they will just have "god is almighty" as THE solution to everything? because i sure as fuck don't and i don't think neil will go down that road either.
every single time i read about god being the secret key to all problems ever i can't help but think about 'if you don't believe in god you don't have morals' arguments. we are told over and over again that aziraphale's blind faith in the ineffable plan is useless and doesn't actually solve anything—action and deciding what kind of person you want to be do.
crowley and aziraphale did not fall in love because god made them, they CHOSE each other over and over again, despite everything and against all odds, they CHOSE to love.
love is a choice and they made it every single day, god has nothing to do with it.
obligatory side note before people decide it's fine to harass me over this, no this does not mean you can't write or believe what you want, i am not talking about fanfiction, i am talking about canon-related meta theories and s3 speculation thank you.

it’s been said before (eg prev post) that mark and rat are foils of each other, and of course i’m a man possessed so i wish this had been more drawn out in the show but i understand why considering all that w/rat’s va (and he had a pretty wrapped up narrative much as it pains me). anyway point of this being mark’s decisions center solely around dan to the point of his own self-destruction (something dan never wills; and dan makes a point of calling mark an idiot in s2 for publishing the podcast) AT DAN’S expense.
so you have rat, who changes dan’s entire anatomy in order to Make Him Weird (because dan is Like rat, and others who Belong in the city…by rat’s standards/beliefs) but sees him as even more of a fully realized person because of this. like rat doesn’t even truly dehumanize dan re: the leviathan, he clearly sees it as a job that dan has been given. against his will, yes, but he’ll get there. rat has made so many changes to himself, and, if we’re to follow marc’s depiction of rat (that he just looks like a guy, and that he, lmao, also looks like his va) then his “monstrousness” isn’t due to some physical change (disability, deformity, etc) but just a vibe. which i love thematically but isn’t really the point so much of this post!
and mark on the other hand wants to change dan back at all costs. he LITERALLY destroys himself and makes the active decision to let go of his humanity (how he defines it) in becoming dromen. all with this singular belief that he alone can and will save dan (despite never knowing that dan even wishes to be saved).
mark’s devotion is fully about returning dan to what he was. he can’t imagine a world in which dan does Belong in the city, even as he tears himself apart to even effect.
rat’s devotion is making dan something new.
it’s LITERALLY about complete devotion to dan powell.
and to me what drives me insane is how dromen does “save” dan; but in doing so, puts him in a literal void. so dan has to fucking. save himself. dan is now in charge of his fate and destiny except oops fuck you. someone else gets to make the call (nicholas) and you better play nice because you just told his sister to go to the place YOU’RE escaping and nicholas is gay so you know that bitch is petty.
so in the end dan’s autonomy is snapped again; and his fate is left undetermined. dromen cut out the primary tape deck, yes, but that’s not all dan was. maybe they want me to believe dan can go back to his life, but he can’t. like how alexa couldn’t forget about melody, and had to join her. how the narrator never forgets thomas. and every other example of how the city completely alters people, whether that’s emotional or physical.
anyway. i understand not wanting to revisit dan powell’s story in the sense that like, dan does so much already and the voice work isn’t easy. but you know how they joked about doing a day in mark’s life in the patreon q&a? (hit me up if you want it, or back the patreon!) i want that for post s3 dan. he lost his girlfriend. his best friend. like what does he do now? would he risk going to clara? nicholas is a pretty bad bet. anyway. girl, help.

ok i was trying to nap because i'm sick and i couldn't sleep and instead i was thinking about house medical doctor. and like. ok. chase is my special favorite, right? i want to punch him in his face, right?
-
I was thinking, though. It's easy to… smooth over and buff out characters to make them more appealing. To focus on traits and interpretations that you like. And to be clear I do think Chase has a lot of good qualities, both in terms of being a likeable character (he's clever! He doesn't take himself that seriously and isn't ego driven, unlike many others in the cast!) and being a fun character to watch (he's always pulling weird faces or being sarcastic!).
But he also has some real fucking character flaws, so let's talk about them. Because I want to. Because I don't like smoothing people out to fit a Narrative. I want to talk about his apathetic moral vacancy.
Like. Chase is apathetic. He truly and honestly doesn't give a shit about other people a lot of the time. He's not aggressive about it, he's not cruel — he tends to be fairly polite, although he's not great at hiding it ("the nurse's phone can take pictures!" "………cool"), he doesn't often talk shit. When he dislikes a patient, he at least tries to hide it (contrast with Foreman, who genuinely sucks at this). But that doesn't mean he cares. He is absolutely fine with lying to patients (Post Mortem), or with billing people for tests and not telling them (Safe). He doesn't care if that's shady. He's super ethically flexible, is the only one of the fellows to be openly pro euthanasia, has zero moral issue with treating Dibala. This clearly isn't because Chase believes so strongly that being a doctor should make you neutral to petty political beliefs, he just… doesn't care much. It doesn't bother him. I don't think he'd go out of his way to be harmful or cruel to someone, but he also isn't going out of his way to help them either.
While we do see him advocating for his patients and getting involved now and then (mostly with children), he never really has any moments where he takes a stand or fights for someone. Cameron, by contrast, does this constantly (The Itch, Acceptance, Fidelity…). Foreman also has several episodes (Fools For Love, Whac-A-Mole, a lot of his S3 development tbh) where he finds and bonds with and over-invests in a patient. The closest Chase ever comes to "getting way too involved in someone's life because he cares" is Moira in Chase, and she's preeeetty explicitly called out as him rebounding and acting out; he's doing the Wilson-Amber reinvent yourself after trauma thing, and it wears off pretty quickly. In Cameron and Foreman's cases too, it's more about their personal issues than the patient in question… but Chase's situation was really about him.
Speaking of being morally vacant! When Cameron might be infected with HIV (Hunting), he expresses some concern and House immediately mocks him for being fake. I don't actually know that it was (he certainly keeps up the thread of suggesting she should take some time off, he's not just being performative), but it's telling that the first reaction to Chase showing concern for anyone is "lol, who are you kidding?" Cameron accuses him later that of not being a good guy. She wants to get laid and live life on the edge, and the person that jumps to her mind when she wonders "who would be down for doing me on meth" is Chase. Nor is she wrong. Chase is an opportunist. Tritter calls him one, and Tritter is correct. He rats to Vogler to save his job, and is barely sorry for it; I'm not sure he ever apologizes. Everyone expects he'll immediately run to Tritter and a huge source of tension in Finding Judas is that Chase can't win: Foreman and Cameron already assume he has, that he's too spoiled and weak to not. Later in S3, when Cameron propositions him, he again goes "free sex?" and signs up, despite calling her out on what a demeaning offer she's making. He tends to pick the easier options. He stays a diagnostics fellow for years longer than anyone else, because it's a safe space. It's easy. He'd rather be a follower than take any risks. (I think there is no room for a reality where he refused his dad's money out of spite or pride. Why would he refuse a trust fund? It's easy. It's right there.)
We actually do see him lash out and stand up for himself here and there. He pushes back against Cameron a few times, actually (Act your Age, Saviors, Teamwork), and he's also pushed back against Foreman and House. But it's only for himself. I can't think of a time he went far out of his way to defend one of his coworkers, or his boss, or a patient. He did get mad enough to, uh, kill, when Dibala threatened Cameron. Which: fair enough? But he doesn't care much for things outside of his immediate influence. He has no problem shrugging off Cuddy in Living the Dream, or an armed gunman in Last Resort. He has no moral stances or political beliefs that we know of (besides, uh, fat people suck and the US immigration system is annoying). He very much does care about people, he's pretty clear that at least some of his apathy is a defense thing after a deeply fucked up childhood, but it's always despite himself. He prefers to do his job and go home. There's an old not-joke about how all surgeons have god complexes. Chase being a surgeon is kind of a retcon, and in a lot of ways he doesn't fit the stereotype — he's not particularly arrogant or superior, he's not even ambitious. He does get touchy about being called wrong, or accused of making mistakes, but I don't think he's any worse than the others on that front (or more prone to making mistakes). But that indifference? His sort of general aloofness? He cares about himself, and his little circle, and watches his own back, and that's it. He doesn't dislike other people, but he doesn't care much either way. Foreman accuses him of being fake. Everyone accuses him of being morally vacant, an opportunist who will do anything if it improves his own situation. And… yeah. Kinda.

As a fellow twist hater, I wanna hear your reasons for why you personally hate it
it takes a lot of weight off every single character (in the case mephone4 also generated their personalities, but still uh, does that in many cases even if he did not), pretty much messes with mephone4's arc and also uh. it messes up with, you know, the CORE message of ii regarding love, healing and changing. ii is essentially about connections and growing.
my biggest issue with the twist is how it would negatively affect pretty much ALL characters (except for maybe Bot and s3 guys but i'll get to them soon enough). like. think of it.
you're telling me that fan, a guy who used ii as his copying mechanism to the point where he didn't know anything else to do, a guy that struggled with connections and being genuine, and how his arc ended up with leaving ii behind and he ended up being his own person, was really just created to be an annoying fan?
you're for real telling me that lightbulb, a woman that was severely depressed and struggled with toxic positivity, was simply made to be "unable to take things seriously"? really?
you're telling me that the WHOLE arc of balloon changing loses it's weight because balloon wasn't consciously an asshole? he was just programmed like that? the whole point of his arc is about accountability and wanting to be a better person.
you're telling me that bow, THE ONE THAT DID A WHOLE SONG ABOUT FEELING LIKE SHE WAS NOTHING WITHOUT THE SHOW, WAS, IN FACT, NOTHING WITHOUT THE SHOW?
there are a lot more of characters that would get affected BADLY but lets get to mephone4.
mephone4 is a character that wants genuine relationships and to be loved. he has been severely abused his whole life and was meant to be a weapon, just like 3gs. the whole appeal of him was that even despite being an asshole, he found people who GENUINELY like what he does, and it's the contestants. it was about how he found people who treated him as an equal despite being their host. HELL, the whole thing about mephone4 getting a support system on s3 confirms that!! a big aspect of his character is how he WISHES he was human, it's how he wishes that he had a normal life with them. it's how he found people and even after everything they still love and worry for him.
so yeah i guess i AM pissed at the implications of, you know:
>A character that all he wants is safety and connections,
>turned out to make everyone and was the "responsible one for their pain"
just. is this really what they want to do with the show. why even write ii on the first place. why give such a wonderful show such an bad twist. listen i still believe the twist isn't canon idrgaf, but if it IS, this is 1: NOT A GOOD TWIST FOR A SHOW LIKE II and 2: they could fuck this up so so easily

Listen, Polin has been my Roman Empire for months now, but this fandom is WILDIN’.
Chunks of this fandom who claim to be Polin fans seem to hate either Colin or Penelope and I’m just like… why are you here, then, if you refuse to empathize or even TRY to understand either critical half of the pairing?
“Colin can’t see what’s in front of him and he insulted her in front of his peers!! GROVEL; I hope Pen moves onto Debling!!!”
First of all, you’re not a Polin fan if you hate Colin so much you want her to move on to someone else. Second of all: yeah, no. Yes,Colin put his foot in his mouth, arguably in a big way because of status, but plenty of people in real life have experienced saying something that came off poorly to a group of people. Everything we know about Colin’s character tells us he is going to feel horrible about it; he’ll apologize, MEAN IT, and she’ll forgive him. She has her own apologies to make.
Believe it or, it is NORMAL for people to grow into romantic feelings slowly. Stop punishing Colin for discovering who he is by experiencing his own character arc with his own mistakes. He’s allowed to have flaws; he’s allowed to work through his insecurities!
Tbh, most of the criticisms I see of Colin are pretty surface-level and petty, so I don’t give them much real estate in my brain because they’re just… bad, lol.
On the flip side -
“Penelope feels entitled to Colin’s feelings; she’s selfish and the fucking worst!!”
S3 Penelope: *overhears Colin say he would never court her; BELIEVES him - decides she’s going to stop wasting her time, move on, and look for a serious suitor and marriage prospect a) as is expected of her in this era and b) so that she has security, especially considering her family’s dire financial straits.*
“Oh my GOD, this is so anti-Polin, how could she POSSIBLY even THINK about accepting a proposal from anyone but Colin?! GTFO”
SIGH, 1) we have NO IDEA how this plot line is going to pan out: Lord Debling may or may not be serious about her, we don’t know what that even looks like, or for how long. The show synopsis historically likes to play with the fandom expectations a lot. He may possibly propose… and if he does, it would clearly exist as a sort of parallel to S1…. but 2) GOD FORBID Penelope entertain the idea, despite very real fears and evidence that would lead her thinking it would likely be her ONLY proposal… or that even if Colin proposed post heavy-petting session, how on EARTH could she think that he would be doing it out of honor-bound obligation and not love. 🙄 Her potentially considering a proposal isn’t anti-Polin; it’s a realistic response and consideration to two (and likely an additional half) seasons worth of external and internal stressors that are tying into her character development.
Penelope’s heart is fragile for a multitude of reasons due to her home life, her prior experiences with Colin and Eloise AND the rest of the ton - it’s incredibly frustrating for people to ignore why she would potentially not believe Colin even if he DID confess / give her a marriage proposal, just like it’s frustrating when people don’t try to understand why Colin might struggle with his own feelings.
Some of y’all really don’t understand people like Penelope who have been told their entire lives that they are not enough, are terrified of putting themselves out there by being emotionally vulnerable and potentially rejected for the fundamental aspects of who they are… even though some of y’all claim to identify with Colin when he has his OWN STRUGGLES WITH SOME OF THESE SAME FEARS. And it’s almost worse because Pen is painfully SHY: You don’t just magically become confident one day because you decided to be; it is a constant battle against negativity that eventually becomes heavily internalized… it takes years of work unlearn those thought patterns, especially when you’re surrounded by people insulting and rejecting your to your face (her family) or behind your back (the way the ton talks about her family… it’s likely Pen heard gossip about herself, whether individually or as an extension of her family PLENTY)… with an added dose of also being ignored when not actively insulted.
It would not shock me at ALL if Penelope genuinely considers a Debling proposal. All of Colin’s actions in S1 and S2 have ultimately taught her that he is never going to return her feelings; she is likely going to be pretty oblivious to his own romantic realizations this season because why would she look for or entertain those hopes again? Some of y’all complain that she is selfish about Colin’s romantic feelings (which lol, I disagree strongly, but sure hypothetically, I’ll allow it) … so then when she tries to move on by listening to him and his actions she’s suddenly… punishing him and undeserving of him?? When she would have every reason to be skeptical of these feelings coming from seemingly nowhere when he starts of the season trying to find her a husband? NAH fam, she’s doing what anyone with any sense of emotional self-preservation would do: move on and try to be content, even if she knows she’ll always love Colin in her heart.
AND even if Penelope develops potentially fond feelings for Debling… do you really think it’s unrealistic for a 19 year old young woman who has done nothing but pine over a man who is oblivious to it (or worse, finds a romantic relationship with you laughable… in her eyes), who has not had ANYONE be romantically interested her… to maybe get a little fluttery around someone who is reasonably nice looking and shows her genuine interest right off the bat? Spoiler Alert: that is probably exactly what would happen because it’s a heady feeling!!!
This entire plotline is either a parallel to the Marina situation, or a reference to the book line that basically has Colin going “Oh shit, what if I had never realized Pen is the love of my life?? What if someone else had seen how amazing she was and snatched her up??” - Maybe it’s even both! Deep breath: it’s a just plot device for Polin to realize they’re made for each other.
Colin and Pen are going to be on their own journeys this season that fly in the face of what the other is going through. Colin is grappling with newfound romantic feelings for Penelope (while likely struggling to trust them because he thought he loved Marina but lol no he didn’t, so how is he supposed to know???) while also battling against former (and potentially current) impulsive actions… and Penelope is fighting for her LIFE trying to bury her feelings and move on because she’s trying to protect her heart because Colin literally said out loud he’d never want her AND she’s likely thinking of her security. They are both grappling with internal conflicts that oppose the other and THAT is what is going to make the tension and development so good… and that’s without even addressing all the LW stuff that needs to get worked through!
I need y’all to flex that empathy muscle a little and realize that this isn’t about fucking fan-service, or you projecting your own experiences onto these characters (or even the weird self-insert “I am/want to be this character” or “I want to fuck this character”) - you can relate to these characters but ultimately it’s about the STORY - it’s about exploring these characters realistically in how they would react to their own traumas and lived experiences, and how what they think they want/need comes into conflicts with their counterparts.
This is a romantic DRAMA, and these characters are going to have their ups and downs… and it’s a Shondaland drama for better or worse, so you KNOW it’s going to get messy (good lord just look at S2 and how far that “love” triangle went… I’m hopeful for the new show runner because she’s a fan).
Polin will be canon because they unreservedly CHOOSE the other and it will be glorious, so everybody chill the fuck out and stop shitting on my imperfect, emotionally fragile yet beautifully relatable, evolving lovers. They are the BEST fucking ship, but most of this fandom doesn’t deserve them tbh. They’re both messes in their own ways, and honestly? If they were real, neither Colin nor Penelope would tolerate this slander y’all are throwing at the other.
LEAVE COLIN AND PENELOPE ALONE AND LET THEM MUDDLE THEIR WAY TO TRUE LOVE. 🤬

Live-Read: The Remington Comic [PART 3]
TOME 12
Tumblr media
What is this... thing? This is some very strange magic. We need to have a closer look. Do you really think you can escape that easily? Admit that... it's not like you can escape down there easy and avoid all the traps.
Joris's first reaction to this is literally "i NEED to know what the fuck that is. and if i have to take these two injured people there, so be it."
Also, yes, Ush's tower has a lot of traps. Love how Joris went up here with no plan of how to go down. I guess he really believes in his luck... just like an ecaflip.
Tumblr media
When I saw a little guy climb the wall, I was… stunned. But to leave this place with a wounded man and a battered eniripsa, that's another matter. I know, but what do you propose? To fight? You saw me come in, and you didn't raise the alarm, which is quite unusual… I can still do it. Getting out of here before everything collapses would be better… for all of us. Obviously, the urgency of the situation benefits you. But we'll deal with that later. Just follow me!
"if you wanted to beat the shit out of me, you would have done it already." Never change, Joris.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These panels go out to my Ush enjoyer readers. Also: this comic takes place around 2 years before Wakfu the Animated Series. Ush is 7-9yo at best by the time of the OVA, and 10 by seasons 3-4. This might point to the fact that Ecaflip demigods age faster on their next lives.
That, or it might point to Ankama not giving a shit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But he does look like a (tall) child in the OVA, and like a teen by time of S3-4
He has his muscular years in the future. Also I guess his cat lovers don't give a shit, but eh, there's bigger ethical concerns about their relationship than the age of his physical body.
Anyway, now onto what is the most important Joris moment of this comic, to me:
Tumblr media
We must hurry. A terrible danger threatens bonta. It can't be worse than letting you escape.
Yeah, sure, lady. Joris and 2 criminals are a bigger danger to Bonta than a giant kaiju. Now, read closely, because this moment here has some fascinating Joris lines:
Tumblr media
If Ush scares you so much, maybe it's time to run away with us. Yeah… no. It's not that simple. You're in love with him. That's why you can't leave your master. What?! No… but… you're crazy! It's okay to be in love. But I'm not in love with him!
(putting on tinfoil hat) Geez Joris, it almost sounds like you yourself have ecaflip issues. Like you've been unable to leave someone for centuries because you love someone too much, despite their flaws, and the way they may have hurt you. It almost sounds like you made peace with that. "It's okay to be in love", huh?
Tumblr media
Context for the next scenes: After some time, they try to kill the kaiju, but it backfires, and Ush gets hurt instead.
Tumblr media
nothing will stop it now… let's run. Opus, you're an eniripsa. Save him. Yes… Have mercy… Save him! After all the harm he's done me? What's the point? Please… A restorative word should give him back some energy… but I doubt he'll escape unscathed. Beating heart… You were right here. It's the best I can do… he'll last a few hours, but he'll… die of his burns. So maybe it's time for beating heart to be used.
Joris's expressions here are so beautiful... He doesn't seem too bothered by seeing Ush's burned, dying body. It's pretty funny.
Tumblr media
You can wear Beating Heart around your neck, and it will give you all which you desire the most. Ahh… everything… that I desire? Or you can use it to annihilate this monster. If it swallows this object… then the power of it should stop it. I can do that, I'd rather die in glory than live through a defeat. I'm going to save Bonta! and nothing can stop me now, not even death. beating heart… beating heart… out of sight… out of mind… will you give your soul the time? beating heart… beating heart… will you give your time the soul? Ush... No...
@dullard and I have talked a lot about the relationship between Ush and Joris, despite how little of it is shown. (he is the Ush enjoyers I was mentioning. all the Ush screencaps are meant for him. hi.)
In those convos we came to the next thoughts: Ush probably views Joris as Kerubim's weird little son, or Kerubim and Atcham's pet. But also, despite Ush viewing Joris in a bit of a low light, he is much smarter and cooler than Kerubim and Atcham — truly the best thing to come from his cringe brothers. He likes toying with him more than he likes toying with Kerubim and Atcham — because Joris doesn't react easily, which makes his reactions more satisfying.
Despite that, they both care for Bonta, and being "a good person", in their own unique ways. So, it is easy for them to put aside their differences, for the most part.
I personally find it fascinating how subtle Joris is about suggesting Ush to sacrifice himself. As subtle as a wrecking ball.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You should never have stolen it from me. Yes… but thanks to us, it was used to save Bonta. And me… who will save me from the curse now that Ush is gone? You must seek the wisdom that remains in you, not the instinct that dominates you. this wisdom will one day overcome your curse.
[always sunny in philadelphia music begins playing] Grany stays a cat for at least the next 10 years, maybe longer, maybe forever.
...Joris has too much hope in these two.
Also, small personal comment: Joris is so pretty on the second image... Very cute head shape. You can just see his baby-ish cheeks, lmaoo.
Tumblr media
Beating heart, beating heart… erase the weapons, bide your time.
This is like a renaissance painting. Some guys celebrating. Grany disgusted by Remington making out with his Opus (who seems to have left him by Wakfu series' time LMAOO), somewhere off-screen, there's a crying woman because Ush is fucking dead and Joris didn't bother telling her something like "Don't worry he'll remember you. Dying isn't much of an issue for him." Instead, Joris is going away, hands behind his back, reciting poetry again.
Beautiful.
Tumblr media
Yes, master... Your meal just arrived. Nine lives... And I remain as devoted as ever to each of your reincarnations. You need a new name for this new life. (Hoping he won't be as bad-tempered as before.)
Bad news, bestie: he will be. His previous deaths hadn't fixed this either.
Tumblr media
Tell me, young lady... You seem very sad. Oh... it's a long story. A love story? Great stories... are always love stories.
I kind of hate Joris for giving her the wonderful idea of wasting her mortal life on some immortal guy who might never love her back. But also. He did give advice based on first-hand experience. To him, spending your entire life with a demigod is both noble and awesome and fulfilling.
Except that's his family, he's also immortal like his family, and he kind of hates everyone else in the world who ISN'T his family, so I'll be real, I think he's biased.

Hi! I want to thank you on the way you talk about The Marius Issue, it really helped me understand readings of it outside my own (i think most of the critique is very valid, and absolutely in line with the books and even with in-universe judgement on the events. Its just wild how many people seem to run on the few descriptors and believe that's all there is to it)
I am actually concerned that the way they introduced the idea of Marius, it would be easy falling into a kink-negative rabbit hole of "every Dom is inherently an abuser, every Sub is actually a victim and there is no way that dynamic could be fun or consentual". Because there has been similar thing already established with Louis and Lestat and now also with Louis and Armand. And then we will get to Daniel and Armand as well... That's so much revisiting to do, i am scared the show would not be able to pull it off, should we trust the writers?
For me, a cool thing about Armands and Mariuses relationship is that they affect each other pretty equally. Armand knows exactly where to push Marius to get what he wants, and Marius complies, always. Very often against reason. (EXPOSED! ThE MoSt ReASonAbLe TVC character is weak in the face of one specific boy and fumbles hard on his so-called Morals!)
Marius is portrayed to be very concerned for Amadeo distancing himself from humanity, and he tries over and over to push Amadeo back to it. His moral failure is that he can't do it fully, never actually commits to it - there is too much love, too much obsession and too much underlying conviction that Amadeo will recieve the Blood one day, hence the grooming.
There is so much nuance to it, like a fucked up tapestry of doom unrevelling its horrid beauty from the day Armand did not die in the brothel.
Yes, do trust the writers.
I know it was reduced to "dom/sub" in interviews, but I do think it is all a lot more complicated, and we see that already with how Loustat has shifted in this season already, despite it being "only" Louis.
We are on a POV show.
S3 will be Lestat's. I firmly believe we will have more characters there "chiming in", so to speak. There will not be a black and white picture of any of these characters, pun not intended - they will all be morally gray, and their actions understandable - and horrendous.
I am sure the show will make a very firm commentary re Marius, and I have a feeling that.... there maybe was a past to Daniel and Marius already, and now that Daniel knows... that commentary will come from him, maybe (after he remembers, of course). I think there is a lot of potential in it all, without watering anything down.
I disagree a bit that Marius is "only" weak in the face of Armand... there was more to it all in the books. Hints, mostly. The "ankles of the boys", for example.
I do think it good that the show makes it's commentary. And not everything they point out will be comfortable to acknowledge.
But I for one appreciate them for doing this.

Dearest Ange, the final episode is upon us.
I too was victim to the spoilers via leaks, and I was really, really praying it was just a bad fever dream. I've accepted that at this point I will continue watching for a love of the actors and the characters, rather than for a meaningful, coherent storyline. There are so, so many things wrong with this episode, much of which we've discussed over the course of season two;
The horrible, horrible way that Ryan Condal and Sara Hess dealt with the greens. My heart really went out to Aemond in this episode because despite the fact that he's so, so messy, and flawed, he's the only one left of his family who's actually trying to keep them alive, to protect them even though he's not going about it the wrong way.
The way the show dealt with the aftermath of events
The horrible character development of so many characters
The terrible pacing
The annoying inclusion of the whole ASOIAF from the main series- please, please, please stop reminding me it exists
Aemond trying to kill Aegon on purpose.
And so much more
And while I'll get to the (few) positives, as I always try to do, there is one thing that made me have to pause my tablet in pure agitation and just being fucking fed up, and that, dear Ange, is that scene with Alicent and Rhaenyra.
What. the. Fuck.
Alicent just sacrificed Aegon for her own freedom, after forcing Aegon to claim a throne he didn't even want? Why is Rhaenyra still bringing up a son for a son? Did Jaehaerys's death mean nothing? Alicent only cares about Helaena and Jaehaera, but what about her sons? Daeron? Aemond and Aegon, despite their flaws, they are her sons, her children- where is the Alicent in s1 who screamed at Aegon that if Rhaenyra became Queen, they will die? It's more than butchering her character, it's just utter bullshit. I remember in season 1 I was such an Alicent sympathiser, I felt like the complexity of her character would be so interesting to see in s2, but my god was it a shitshow. Alicent takes one solo camping trip and she's ready to offer up her sons on a platter so she can try and absolve herself? What about her father? Her brother? All of whom are fighting for her son's cause? They don't have the luxury that Alicent seems to, if the greens lose, they will lose their heads. No question.
My heart ached for Aemond when he tried to reach out to Helaena hat one last time- yes, she has every right to be angry, because she's lost so much because of Aemond's actions, and yet, the look on his face broke me. He's trying so hard to fight for their survival, and not one member of his family cares. I've ranted on a bit about the negatives, so here are my few positives-
Daemon and Rhaenyra reunion, seeing them together again
At this point, any Aemond or Helaena screentime is a blessing, no matter what Ryan Condal's trying to do.
Daeron sneak peak
Rhaena and Sheepstealer
Helaena is so fucking pretty <3
Sharako Lohar (I wanna be one of her wives, thanks)
Ngl after Aemond burned Sharp Point I was ready to let him take out some more frustrations on me, hehe
I wanna say Bloodraven, but....that's not what I expected him to look like
Anyway, Ange, I've enjoyed our little weekly tradition. I'm looking forward to how the show is going to inspire the fandom for the next two years. I'll try not to disappear into a void, I'm still gonna hide behind anon for a while longer, but maybe by the time s3 rolls around, I'll be able to come out from hiding. I've written my own fics, though admittedly I'm only somewhat proud of one of them, that I'm not finished uploading from ao3 to tumblr. I feel some inspiration to write again after some time of no inspiration, so perhaps if I'm granted any time, I can finally write again. As always, look forward to seeing your takes, Ange <3
-🦋 anon
Hello, my love! I can't believe that after eight weeks of doing this, this will be our final one (until season three, anyway) - I hope you won't be a stranger until then! I will wait patiently for your first fic to post.
Anyway, on to my thoughts...
A lot of people’s gripe with season two of House of the Dragon has been its deviation from Fire and Blood.
I do not mind that. They did it in season one. My issue is that there is no consistency between the characters as they were presented in season one and how they behave in season two.
Alicent that put herself between a dragon and her son, that replied “you imbecile” to his question of “do you love me?” now offering up his head.
Aemond that toasted with his brother at the expense of his bastard nephews, and looked on in annoyance as Helaena danced with one of them, burning and torturing his brother and manhandling his sister.
This isn’t character development, it’s character assassination. Where is the family unit that closed ranks and defended one another when Viserys demanded to know which of them called Rhaenyra’s sons bastards?
The writers tore up the script for season one and said “actually, they all hate each other”. I don’t recognise these characters. They are trying to make the audience hate Aemond when he is the only one with any integrity, still fighting for his family’s cause.
And Daemon - Daemon’s defining quality has always been his ruthlessness, how cutting he is. They’ve softened him up to make Rhaenyra’s cause seem more sympathetic. Give me back the man that sat at the top table during a wedding feast and called Lord Royce an “old bronzed cunt”, the man who single-handedly took on the Crabfeeder’s army rather than accept help from his brother.
They’ve destroyed so much potential with the insistence on creating good guys. The whole appeal of the Dance is that everyone is shitty. We could have had that with the foundations that were laid in season one. I am so disappointed.
I'm annoyed that we didn't get to see Rhaena actually claim Sheepstealer, and when she does finally encounter him she reacts with wide eyed surprise? Girl, you're really shocked that you're seeing the creature that you've spent the last however long tracking and almost died of exposure for? That's like me looking around the supermarket for grapefruit and then screaming when I find it. That could have been way more badass, I'm not annoyed that they sacrificed Nettles' character for that.
What was the point of Aemond burning Sharp Point? Visually, it was stunning, but what purpose did it serve? Was that in place of him burning the Riverlands? We didn't even get to see him do it, just the aftermath!
Helaena telling Aemond how he dies, as well as Daemon seeing his own death were such dumb moves. Those deaths would have been epic for people who haven't read the book, and now they are spoiled. I am also now sceptical as to whether we will get Alysmond or not. It seems like they've stripped away the very foundation that made that pairing by making Helaena a seer and giving Daemon such a tight knit bond with Alys.
When I first read Fire and Blood I was very much Team Black. What brought me to neutral ground was watching season one and seeing how Team Green were fleshed out and made more complex. Season two has undone all of that. It feels almost like they are trying to turn the characters back to their book counterparts, but are making them into caricatures of themselves in the process.
They could never make me hate Aemond, and I think the only reason for that is Ewan's incredible performance of the character. He adds so much nuance to a personality that the writers are actively trying to destroy. I think if it were any other actor playing Aemond, I genuinely would not enjoy the character.
Anyway, so I'm not ending on a bum note, here's what I've enjoyed this season:
The acting - the cast have been absolutely phenomenal, every performance has been a joy to watch, despite the weak writing.
The lesbian fan service. I very much enjoyed the Rhaesaria kiss, though I am annoyed they never developed that any further. Sharako Lohar also - I know the character is a man in the book and making her a woman is very fan servicey, but I enjoyed her immensely.
Tyland Lannister. He has provided some much needed comic relief this season, whether it's being bullied by Aegon and Jaehaerys, terrorised by Aemond or mud wrestled by pirates, he's fun to watch.
Team Black - I was kind of "meh" towards characters like Baela and Jace in season one. I've grown to appreciate them so much more in season two, and I think that's because of the acting. Bethany and Harry have done an amazing job.
The dragons! I've enjoyed seeing them all, the designs for all of them are so interesting and I really like how different they all look. Caraxes will be my forever favourite, but Syrax has also stolen my heart this season, because of her cute little Boglin face.
I think that's it? My expectations for season three are low, so hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised. I will be knocking around in the meantime, writing fics as always! Lots of love to you xoxo

Hello.... If you don't mind me asking, who are your favorite romantic relationship's couples in books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series (can be canon or non-canon)? Feel free if you want to write the reasons or not of why you love them...Thanks if you want to answer....
Thanks for the ask and damn I'm always so excited when it comes to these so ofc I don't mind, also warning I'm about to kinda go off. It's a pretty long list so I'll only talk about the ones that left the biggest impression on me.
Warning for mentions of twincest, incest and age gaps.
Starting off with the ship that indoctrinated me into the bl life style *drumroll*
Draco Malfoy/Harry Potter (aka Drarry); enemies/rivals to lovers, blond x ravenette, they basically set the precedent for every ship I pick up like a stray cat these days.
Bakugou Katsuki/Midoriya Izuku (Bakudeku): Enemies to lovers, plus constantly on each other's mind as a motivation in one way or the other. I love them so much.
Mikage Reo/Nagi Seishiro (NagiReo): one of my current hyperfixations, mainly cuz they're one of the few ships I have that wasn't introduced as rivals from the start as well as being extremely close canonically. They click so well despite their miscommunication (more like no communication but I'll probably get to that another day).
Gojo Saturou/Itadori Yuuji (GoYuu): Most of my blog will you a clue already lol.
Sukuna/Itadori Yuuji (SukuIta): Number one toxic ship rn, but would you believe I prefer their siblings falling in forbidden love trope?
Mikaela Hyakuya/Yuuichiro Hyakuya (MikaYuu): Found family lovers that will give anything for each other? Sign me up.
Tyki Milk/Allen Walker: I walked into the D.gray man fandom late and I will never not regret it, I need more people that at least know who they are (〒﹏〒)
Eren Jeager/Armin Arlet & Eren Jaeger/Levi Ackerman (Eremin & Ereri): Getting these two out of the way at the same time cuz while I think Eren is undeniably his best self a lot with Armin, I love the thought of Levi being there as his inspiration.
Itoshi Rin/Itoshi Sae: Their beef is adorable but they need to fuck.
Roy Mustang/Edward Elric: I love their banter and they've both been through way too much together.
Bruce Wayne/Clark Kent (Superbat): one is batman the other is superman...Need I say more?
Dick Grayson/Tim Drake: I watched Titans and they had me.
Luka/Adrian (Lukachat): I stopped watch Miraculous at like S3 but these two are the only salvageable treasure from that mess to me.
Sherlock Holmes/William James Moriarty (Sherliam): From Moriarty the Patriot not any other adaptations please. There was that one movie tho. I love how they're constantly teasing and trying to outsmart each other like yeah babes, burn that city down to get his attention.
Kageyama Tobio/Hinata Shoyo (Kagehina): I haven't finished Haikyuu S2, spare me.
Kagami Taiga/Kuroko Tetsuya: what's with sports anime and K names, that aside, I don't know but their separation leaves me in tears everytime.
Yukio Okumura/Rin Okumura: Rin cares so much, Yukio stop being a yandere you closeted brocon! I know you!!!
Wei Wuxian/Lan Wangji: I have a thing for broody possessive tops and oblivious bottoms and they were my awakening.
Hideyoshi Nagachika/Ken Kaneki (Hidekane): Receiving Tokyo ghoul spoilers of how things ended kept from finishing the show or starting the manga, what even is the point .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·.
Draken/Mikey/Takemichi & Draken/Mikey: DraMiTake is something I'd consume if I find it cuz I read this one precious fic I will forever cherise but DraMikey has way too much angst potential on its own. Tugs my heart to know Draken keeps Mikey grounded.
Baji Keisuke/Chifuyu Matsuno: Kazutora I will never fucking forgive you.
Hanma shuji/Kisaki Tetta: psychotic boyfriends, we love to see it (✿ ♡‿♡)
Reinhard Van Astrea/Natsuki Subaru: They are literally my banner plus he's one of the few people that doesn't give Subaru a hard time (I only watched S1)
Sebastian Michaelis/Ciel Phantomhive: Butler x master, what else do I need to add. I do absolutely adore the thought of Sebastian being cheeky when putting his young master in his place. I also love soft Sebastian, go figure.
Carnegie/Jonathan Sterling: No one remembers Darkside so I won't even dive into it. These two are the reason I'm trying to finish the series right now, book girlies, read Darkside by Tom Becker and come find me please ಥ‿ಥ
Dante/Vergil: It just makes sense ngl.
If you made it this far...why did you lollll, but honestly thanks for reading, talking about ships is one of my things and be free to ask again if you want me to expand upon or analyze any of these, that or if you just want recs. I'm down for anything.

@marrecarandgi
ok so, the mommy issues: he does have them though i don't think they are sexual in nature (which is also why i don't like to call them 'mommy issues'--- theres always a certain… connotation attached (and on top of that it sounds, to me, like blaming the victim. not saying you're doing it! not at all! Just describing my aversion to that particular phrase as best as i can)).
So what that whole thing boils down to is that he never experienced the love of his parents, that's where it stems from. That's part of why he fixates on Madison so hard. BC already in the first ep of s3, moments after he greets madison, he watches her declare her love for her kids and for travis. "do you love him more than your life?" he asks her and the way he looks at her… like that's such a strange thing to him and at the same time he'd wished someone would love him that much. or like even half as much. hell, he'd take a quarter! It's kinda heartbreaking. He's drawn to such a love and jealous too. Of course he is, he never got it. And then he finds out who her son is she got in such danger for and… is angry at him. Angry that he has such love in his life and just--- treats it with such disrespect (=bc he's a junkie and also bc he clearly ran away from his mom). I think it reminds him of the relationship with his own mom, how HE had such love for her and how she had only disdain for him and for his love. And while he can't hate his mom - i mean i think he does. but he also loves her. feelings for his mom are complicated… but with NICK it's not complicated. He can just hate him. So yeah there's a lot of projecting going on. None of it sexual though, I don't believe so. Explains part of his fixation though. AND THEN on top of her apparent love, she immediately turns around and tries to manipulate him. "My, my son, he's out there, somewhere. Alone. I'm sure if you were lost in the wasteland, your mother would do anything to find you" Definitely he loves the way Madison could play his games (the way she did even as she was disadvantaged, even as she was scared), the way she tried to manipulate him AND also the way she loved, those two things drew him to her. Personally I think he was most taken in by the 'she keeps at it even while she's afraid what he'll do' thing she had going on. Pushing onwards despite. Does it remind him of himself? Most certainly. He loves to draw that out of her, that bravery, that opposition. After all, he likes people pushing back it's attention, it's caring enough to engage with him, not just dismissing him… And I think a third aspect in their relationship is that he also wants her to.. teach him, in a way. Because they're pretty similar - both manipulative and clever, wanting to control all others around them and not afraid to do what needs to be done (in their eyes) - but then! She's got a family that loves her. If she could just teach him how she did that… he could have a shot at that too. At long last he could have that, too! If only she could teach him her secret.
So yes, his family did fuck with his head badly, he's certainly got issues. And it comes out as desperate to make connections, as soaking up attention and affection wherever he gets it, no matter how dangerous it is. He knows full well Madison is playing him but he just can't NOT engage, at least in s3. I'm so fucking happy for him he got over that in s8. How heartbreaking would that have been otherwise… And I think the reason he got over it is because he finally got what he was craving - someone that loves him. Not wanting to use him or someone who merely tolerates him, but honestly, truly loves him. First Serena (I assume) and then definitely Tracy.
--
Now about the 180 he did wrt killing Madison - honestly that's just bad writing in my opinion and having everything rushed because they wanted to do too much for 12 eps. That's how it felt while watching haha. (Same btw for Tracy suddenly saving Madison what the fuck come on get out of here with this shit omg). Anyway, what I could imagine is going on here: he knows he's fucked (chances of surviving this and actually getting tracy to safety pretty low) so he does what he thinks will most likely ensure Tracy's safety. Getting on the good side of these people (by saving Madison).
It's still a stretch, I know, but makes more sense than 'he saw into her eyes and realized bla bla bla' come on! Orrrr maybe he realized her dying now, without anything she believes in is no punishment for her. She *needs* to believe in the same shit Serena did so it really hurts her when she dies. She'll feel like she's losing out on something, or whatever. Now it seems like she welcomes death. She even said it to him didnt she. Something along the lines that padre will be safe without ppl like them around. She wants to die. So. He saves her. (Just like she didn't kill him when he begged her back in s3. she just sent him into exile). I kinda see this one as the most likely explanation. Also makes sense he wasn't paying attention to Madison, just worried about Tracy. Because that's his number 1 prioority.
---
Now naming Tracy Tracy still has me scratching my head and calling bullshit. Sorry, no in-universe explanation for it, writers were being stupid. Probably thought 'oh this will show he really really cares about family bc he named her after his mom' or whatever.

it’s your friendly neighborhood heroes anon! you seem to maybe kinda like the petrellis, so i’ll give you a fun ask about them.
what do you think peter and nathan were like with each other growing up? i’ve seen a bunch of different headcannons from people. in some they’re only like 8 years apart and in others it’s 14. some people think nathan was seen as more of a ‘cool cousin that gets you booze’ type by peter and they never really saw each other much, but when they did it was a fun time. but then in other fics nathan and peter are basically conjoined at the hip even after nathan graduates.
it’s all a big mess, and i don’t know who to believe lol. your thoughts? don’t be afraid to ramble on and on (and on)
Hi!!! I love to talk about the Petrellis haha so here goessss 💖💖
Ooh so first of all, I don’t rly know anything abt the supplemental stuff like the comics lol but not many ppl do anyway lmao
And secondly, in regards to their age gap we can roughly work it out from a few things: s1-s4 take place over roughly ~2 years (for instance Claire is 15-16 in s1 and 18/going to college in s4). Peter was born in December 1979 and is 26 in s1 (stated in canon), Nathan is similarly stated to be 40 in s4 (so ~38 in s1). So I’ve always interpreted them as being 12 years apart. Which yes, is a pretty sizeable age gap and means they wouldn’t have hung out in the same way that siblings of closer ages/in similar life stages would have. Peter and/or Nathan would be away at fancy boarding school, Nathan was in the military for parts of Peter’s childhood.
Their childhood is not super filled in by canon so a lot of this is my personal headcanon/interpretation (be warned for subjectivity/filling in the gaps) but I think their clinging to each other/closeness did start very young regardless of the age gap. Their father was terrifying and emotionally abusive as fuck, controlling to Nathan and at best dismissive and neglectful to Peter, Angela at least loves them in her own way but isn’t much better as a parent and is actively manipulative/gaslighting them all the time lmao and they live in an insane household that forced them together due to this (no wonder they’re Like That).
I think Nathan’s always been protective of Peter and wanted to be there for him/stand in front of him to shield him (though I think he’s later a little resentful about it, similarly Peter sometimes sees Nathan as too much of a puppet to their parents and doesn’t get why he didn’t stand up for himself more/gets frustrated with him, but Nathan was literally moulded from birth to be their obedient little attack dog who’d do whatever they wanted him to. Nathan in s3 saying his evil mind-controlling dad chose his career and even the person he married was picked out for him. There’s a reason that he seems so spineless.) but Nathan’s exception has always been Peter - the one thing he’ll defy his parents for. In s1 he goes along with what he’s meant to do until it comes time for him to pick The Plan or Peter, and he sacrifices himself for Peter. I think Angela never even considered that Nathan would choose Peter over her plan for him, which was the flaw in her machinations lol.
Peter also mentions in s4 that Nathan would rearrange his military leave to be there for Peter’s birthday, etc. i think that they were really happy to see each other every time they got to, it gave them some escape with someone who wasn’t their parents, who understood what it was like to grow up in that family. They’re hugely different people, but in part because Peter was allowed that freedom to be himself and have his own opinions that Nathan simply didn’t have, and again I think Nathan at once kind of resents this and also fiercely wanted that for Peter and is proud of him, despite the way he’s mean to him sometimes lol.
Of course I’d be remiss not to mention the infamous s2 deleted scene, where Nathan says that he and Peter used to steal Arthur’s scotch and go out to the treehouse and he ‘got him drunk for the first time’ up there. Not sure exactly when but this has to have been when Peter was a teenager, and… whew. The way Nathan delivers this with such anguish (‘why did I go back there…’) says so much about how intensely he feels about this whole thing, like, whatever really happened in that treehouse was a LOT and he’s having a LOT of feelings about it. I think when Peter was a teenager their closeness started becoming TOO much and too intense and it scared Nathan a bit as much as he wanted to hold onto Peter. But aaaaanyway….
I just love me some codependent brothers lmao so I’ve probably coloured it more towards that in my own perception. But basically I do think they were close regardless of the age gap!

No yeah Tom's I want you gregging for me is definitely Tom realizing he really does need Greg near him on the business side of things too. S4 tom really is just him slowly realizing this, thinking greg is getting more independent (dating women, have his own job responsibilities and assistants etc) which translates to Greg getting farther away from him in his mind even though that's like the farthest from the truth, trying to make greg jealous, getting jealous of ken in return, and then desperately trying to secure greg to be his again in the event of possibly being fucked after Logan's death, thinking if he castrates him that would make greg dependant of him and he wouldn't run away. All the while greg in actuality wants to be with him too, doing all those things for tom, wanting to be sexual with tom, and then him smiling so wide when tom claims him with that sticker even with the significantly lower pay. The angst of this pining and misunderstanding is so. Huft. They really need to kiss once and for all. And have lots of sex post show
GOD YES UGH. all of this. i think… like i will accept greg possibly trying to get away from tom s1-3 and being out for himself because like. i think that’s fair enough, no one else is gonna take care of him, his mother refused to and his grandpa dicked him around and rome and shiv do not like him. ken is neutral to him at best and in too much birthday shows himself as not to be trusted by his word. logan is pretty chill with him but that only serves to teach him that being out for no.1 is the only way you’re gonna survive. his dad abandoned him. a lifetime of people giving up on him or no giving enough of a fuck about him to help him or look after him properly has taught him it’s never gonna happen so he’s not going to believe tom right away, even when tom makes romantic gestures and very obviously keeps to his word to take care of him, he’s gonna be unsure because things can’t suddenly change, one person can’t be different, can’t care for him like this after everyone shrugging away from his affection and telling him to get lost right?
but s4 is not like this. s4 is the exact opposite - if greg still was trying to get away why would he stick by tom’s side so much despite as we’ve guessed being higher up in another department? he’s gotten what he wants right? a step up in the business? a foot in the door high up? why does he need to bother with tom? isn’t this the perfect opportunity now to ditch his ass, if he still wants to get away from him? why would he try to help shoulder tom’s burden, try to take care of his basic needs, sing his praises, put his name first when mentioning him to the future president, throw others under the bus to protect him, make the conscious choice to follow tom’s requests instead of his orders like. he has the choice now - and he chooses tom. over and over. i think bc by end of s3 he finally realises that tom is for real and means what he says. that tom is different and actually gives a fuck about him. and like, this is something he’s never had before, so ofc he’s gonna be all over tom’s dick as we saw in 4.01, and glued to his side literally whenever we see them.
but like you say personal alone is not enough for tom, he wants greg by his side in a business sense too - needs him in fact. i need you working here with me kitten or daddy’s gonna kill himself, basically lol. and it leads to him clinging so desperately and tightly to greg he ends up pushing him away in some aspects. but yeah it all ends well with the sticker and claiming him and hhhhh. but yeah the romcom miscomm trope is off the chaaaarts. they will kiss! a lot! post show! and a lot of sex too 🥰

songs for the cycle-breaker
i also think i've taken a different approach to this playlist in that i've focused on just late s3 zuko breaking free from his family. this playlist has much less of an arc than he does.
the thing about putting together a zuko playlist for me is that i am not emo and i don't believe in putting showtunes on character playlists bc they are already About characters. so this playlist is not super reflective of what i think zuko would listen to and is also pretty different from most of the zuko playlists out there which ARE full of emo bands/popular tiktok music. nothing wrong with that but it's not me.
1. dynasty - rina sawayama
i'm a dynasty / the pain in my veins is hereditary / and if that's all i'm gonna be /would you break the chain with me?
perfect song for the cycle-breaker of a royal family. i've seen this song on azula playlists and like. what chain do you think she's breaking exactly. the whole tragedy of her character is that she doesn't get free.
2. walk this way - mø
there is a light for you, burning for you / oh my mama said "it is burning for you"
zuko is, of course, a mama's boy.
3. take the journey - molly tuttle
take the journey / someday you'll make it back home again
pretty straightforward tbh. i like to imagine the lines "take the hand of the one beside you / let the fire guide you" as being about him & aang meeting the dragons.
4. relay - fiona apple
evil is a relay sport when the one who's burned turns to pass the torch
if this lyric were shorter i'd have made it the title. if this song had a more conventional song structure i'd have made a full fanvid instead just a little snippet. there is no better summary of zuko than this line.
5. altar wine - david keenan
there was once a man who loved me / he was older, he left this scar / and a book about an angel / that made her way back home to god / i still think about him sometimes / running my finger up its spine / may he fall into a well / he left me old before my time
yeah this song is heavily christian, but the characters in this song - the sighing mother the narrator identifies with, the older man who left a scar, the girl who sets fire to the curtains - feel very fire nation royal family. the fact that the older man gives him a book about an angel who made her way back home to god also feels similar to how zuko was expected to redeem himself and find his way home.
also, the singer just sounds fucking anguished, and literally screams near the end, which is pretty zuko imo.
6. black sun - irma
hold back, hold back, can't you see / how harmful all this can be / this ain't no place to call a home
amazingly, a perfect song for zuko's speech to ozai on the day of black sun.
7. shivers - JOSEPH
i strike my own light / even if it's not quite as bright
zuko decides to leave and strike out on his own.
8. grave digger - matt maeson
goddammit, i cannot bend / i'm all shriveled inside
a recommendation from the write-in question on this uquiz i made, one that i got a LOT, and okay yeah sometimes the majority opinion is correct. it's about deciding to leave behind your toxic family, and it's also easy to read "bend" in this line to refer to firebending. you win this one, zuko fans.
9. fear and loathing - marina
don't wanna live in fear and loathing / i want to feel like i'm floating / instead of constantly exploding
about how he had to find a new drive for his bending after he left, find something besides anger and fear to fuel him.
10. white teeth teens - lorde
and everything works out so good / i wear the robe like no one could
zuko being crowned fire lord at the end despite never thinking he was one of the cool kids worthy of status and power.
12. heirloom - sleeping at last
you are so much more than your father's son / you are so much more than what i've become
iroh to zuko <3
13. a burning hill - mitski
the title track. like all our angsty firebenders, he's been a perpetrator of the fire nation's brutality, its victim, and a witness to it. zuko 🤝 azula 🤝 jeong jeong - this song.

Ok so I think about them an unhealthy amount so here's the ask I asked about a while ago.
Their sexual dynamics are kinda fascinating and in another show that would've been explored more. (I have so many questions- some of them are on a literary level and the others not so much lol)
Marissa said that they never had a problem with attraction and being emotionally unavailable made them want each other more. Their difference in experience and how it might have affected their dynamic- ex: Ryan sleeping with Theresa soon after splitting with Marissa (who had a regretful sexual experience with her ex and was waiting with Ryan) because of old habits, but she said like one line about it and that's it. (Now that I think about it, it's weird that Ryan said before their date that he's never, like, fully dated girls before aside from hooking up even though Theresa existed, I guess he wasn’t counting that because it was on and off?). We saw how Marissa's trauma of being assaulted affected their sex life but only for like one time when it's an interesting discussion too, and so could've been the Gabrielle predatory thing (when he said that he was with another girl and Marissa pointed out that she was a woman- knowing this show she probably meant it in a "omg she's so experienced im so jealous" kinda way but it's clear that her being older wasn't ok for her, at least not as ok as it was for him.
There's also all the sexual jealousy (as it's apparent from my asks, MV jealousy era was my favourite for being funny af, but there's also Ryan/Gabrielle and Luke/Marissa which were just painful) but also despite the intensity, there's a bit of assurance and comfort there ("what strippers? I don't know any strippers"/"you got a lap dance?"). They were being walked in on all the time and Marissa did say she wasn’t into PDA much (but I'm not sure if it was about Trey?) they were also "one of those couples" which means they didn’t keep their hands off each other, either. Ooh there is so much material lol- I shudder to think but HBO Ryissa would've been like 👀
You know this is something I was thinking about a few weeks ago. I'm probably not gonna answer this well but it's gonna be long. So first off, it is very insane for Marissa to say that she and Ryan were going at it during all of s3 when the narrative is relatively sexless for every couple until it's turned up wildly in 3x18 for a ratings and demographic shift (other people can speak about this better than I). I've talked about that 3x18 line before and it's so weird to shoehorn it in like they do; we're supposed to believe RM have been fucking this whole time? What? 3x14 showed us in their intimate scene that they haven't been doing this a lot since it serves as a means of reuniting them. But, hey, maybe they have and it's just weird shit between M/B that kept it from our consciousness. But like I said earlier, this season was so sexless until much later when it's turned up to 100 (and those irl dynamics were also very bad so like.... mess).
We're also supposed to believe RM didn't sleep together after 2x20 when "I think we can do better than the front seat of Sandy's car" is insanely suggestive. Not to say they did it right after getting back together but like....... idk. Them only having sex for the first time in 3x03 is narratively so far-fetched. Obv there weren't a lot of times they could in s2 since they're kept apart for plot reasons and then as soon as they reunite the Trey stuff happens.
BUT
Their comfortability in mid-s1 when they're dating is so easy. It's very hard to believe these teens weren't sleeping together. Ryan is largely unsupervised and pretty much has his own apartment! And they're both not virgins as we know. It's only when Marissa says in 1x19 that they haven't that we all have to be like oh??? And it's a teen soap so these things are usually documented for the audience, but still it's like please. Especially after 1x14.
All that said, lol, the way I see RM approaching intimacy is that from a young age neither of the two really associate sex with love. We know Ryan's experienced by 16 (though I personally think he exaggerates how many girls he's been with). There's at least Theresa who clearly did not exist in the narrative until 1x11. There's no way she and her mom wouldn't be in Ryan's mind when he's been abandoned in 1x01 and calling all his friends for a place to stay. So!!
For whatever (plot) reason, RM don't sleep together until 3x03. But Marissa rushes into sex with Luke in 1x06 for all the reasons I mentioned here. And she's incredibly hurt in 1x26/1x27 to learn that Ryan rushed into sex with Theresa right after their breakup. She spends the summer between s1 and s2 thinking about that and probably assuming they have sex then too (she looks surprised to hear in 2x02 that it "wasn't like that at all"). And then she starts having casual sex with DJ that summer. The DJ storyline is so so bad from its inception but we're at least led to believe she's sexually active. They tried to make DJ a viable romantic option but it was so bad from the start that at least it finally ends.
Marissa doesn't even get to associate sex with real, heartfelt romantic feelings until Alex and that's then pulled out like a rug from under her before they pivot her back to Ryan when Lindsay leaves. So she still doesn't associate sex with love. THEN she's assaulted and goes through all that fun trauma. R/L have a few scenes that imply they may be sleeping together but I think if they did we'd have seen it or at least heard about it.
Which brings us to 3x03 and RM both being in a place where sex and love can be working together. I think Ryan has love for Theresa but let's be honest that boy will never be ~in~ love with her and that's a major missing part of their relationship. 3x03 gives us the heightened Hawaii plot and that positions RM to realize this is the time because she's leaving and you know It's About The YearningTM. I don't think the scene itself is great because of the choreography and the stupid editing but what leads up to it "Are you sure? It'll make it that much harder for you to leave" is just SOOOOOOO
If we understand that RM have been having a bunch of loveless, emotionally unavailable sex in s3 I don't think it's much of a stretch to imagine them jumping into bed with the people they then jump into bed with in late s3. And in many ways it's like as soon as they were able to marry sex and love in 3x03, they reverted back to these people who saw it as something else. That speaks to how s3 was so fucking bad.
A few things:
Yeah I think the PDA line in 2x22 carried over to 2x23 is only really about Trey and her bruise that she's concerned with; their PDA in front of their friends in 1x15 meant nothing to them. I can't imagine they cared more about schoolmates seeing them than they did their friends (and Marissa's ex)
I think M is so hurt about Gabrielle in 1x06 and 1x07 for all those reasons. That she's older "Actually, I think she was a woman" and that Ryan could hook up with someone random the same day he's all but asked her to make a romantic choice "the last time I saw you, you kind of had your hands full"
The way that Marissa has quiet confidence in Ryan with other women is very sweet in 1x26 "what about strippers?", 2x21 "South Beach for a little spring break action?" and 3x09 "you got a lap dance?" it's actually very interesting to contrast that with Seth who kisses women in BOTH Vegas and Miami when he's still in a quasi-relationship with Summer at the time
I know for a fact I didn't answer this very eloquently (if I answered it at all) but it's a really interesting subject!
Also, considering I head canon RM being FWB in college I think it'd take a while for them to acknowledge how in love they've always been with one another. Because of their shared traumas, lingering resentments, trust issues, etc. *cue 'tis the damn season*
