Your favorite movie released this year DIDNT WATCH ANY 2023 MOVIES YET.. CRIES

A movie you think is underrated - obliged to say An Elephant Sitting Still by hu bo bc i can never find it in dvd stores and i unfortunately honestly dont know if i will find a screening of it in a cinema available to me ever again but i dream of it

A movie you think is overrated - going to put two, one new and one classic. first one is parasite. im bitter abt this movie bc it was advertised like crazy and the reviews were so hyping and then i went and it was average. its not a bad movie but not only doesnt deserve the hype the hype ruined it for me bc if i went with the proper expectations i wouldnt have gotten so disappointed. a classic is alphaville of godard... obviously its a good movie and im sure it was groundbreaking at the time but by now the story doesnt feel as sophisticated bc this genre of story is at this point.. i wouldnt say overdone bc its still a great genre but its not fresh or suprising by now without making it more complex. this movie felt like a blueprint to the 1984 book soviet dystopia genre so it didnt keep up with the times. many classic movies are still exciting and fresh just like when they came out including other movies of godard but this isn't one of them. but i can also see how it was probably one of godard's top commercial movies, bc it was easier to digest and more basic than his other work

A movie you like but wouldn't recommend - stalker of tarkovsky and tarkovsky movies in general bc i think it would probs be boring to most ppl (its slow and not much plot) + tarkovsky movies r slow and the kind of movies u have to watch in the movie theater

A movie musical you like - annette of leox carax. and its not only a good movie the music is so good too

A horror movie you like - audition by takashi miike . love japanese violence

A sci-fi movie you like - high life by claire denis. AND it has robert pattinson in it!!!!!!!111 and hes amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A fantasy movie you like

A movie in your native language you like - Life According to Agfa by Assi Dayan. one of the only good israeli movies that exist bc i didnt see so far any good, worthwhile or complex israeli movie besides this one (not including documentaries).

A foreign-language movie you like - (i put a bunch already so ill do one in a language i didnt put yet) tori and lokita by the dardenne brothers. takes place in belgium in french about a young refugee woman and a refugee child from africa who pose as brother and sister. this is going to destroy you but its such a good movie i cant recommend it enough but i still cant recover

A movie you wish you could un-watch - the disney secretariat movie. it was so bad oh my god it was so fucking bad im in pain. i want disney to give me back the braincells i lost. this actor horse deserves so much better

A performance you think is underrated - Vicenç Altaió (yeah had to google this one) in story of my death by albert serra. his acting was insane. probably one of the best acting perfomances ive ever seen, specifically the toilet scene stuck with me. so it's a period movie about casanova. there a scene in the movie that all of it is just him taking a shit. and of course it sounds goofy but it was actually a really human and sensitive depiction and his acting was so natural i completely forgot i was watching a movie. he really made this scene what it is. and tbh i think even from those other photos u can see what i mean on him

A performance you think is overrated

A movie made better by the ending - only thing that comes up in my mind is barton fink of joel coen.. i can barely remember this movie bc i watched it years ago but (spoilers) i can just remember there was a twist in the middle that flipped the whole movie on its head and it was super enjoyable. besides this i cant think of anything

A movie ruined by the ending - the holy mountain of jodorowsky... at the time i watched it i was so disappointed by the ending it was so anticlimactic. i think he thought he did something but it just didnt work. (might be spoilers) same vibes when a story pulls "and then he found out it was all a dream". like.. in this case it just didnt feel fitting it was disappointing. but i watched it years ago so i wonder if i would feel the same now

A trilogy/franchise you like cant think of anything

A movie you never get tired of talking about - drive my car by ryusuke hamaguchi. its fun to talk abt this movie bc even tho there are a lot of themes and details that make it what it is, its not too complex to not be able to grasp and pinpoint them. so its complex enough to be a good movie but not too complex to not be able to talk abt it, both abt the good and bad things (bc there r also choices the director made that i dont like). and there's also so much to talk abt that stems from this movie not only in the movie itself but also what it shows abt japanese cinema, contemporary japanese cinema/this generation of japanese directors versus the previous generations. also i love this director in general i recc all his movies

A movie you never wanna hear about again - if i hear one more thing abt any marvel movie im going to kill myself

A director you think is underrated - tbh hard to think of anyone.. i think any director i like got some kind of recognition, and if i think ok which one doesnt get mainstream recognition it would be basically most of them. so im trying to think.. who do i rlly think doesnt get recognition. maybe the crown should go to the photographer petra collins who actually directed the first season of euphoria before sam levinson kicked her out and claimed he did it and stole all her work

A director you think is overrated - HITCHCOCK!!!!!!! HES NOT THAT GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HES TRULY NOT THAT GOOD!!!!!!!!!!! Two new pieces of news for you all!

First, Im currently starting a new fic! Wooo! I haven’t wrote something for myself in a while, so I want to make this one as good and long as I can! ^^ it will be about a curtain someone~ that I feel would enjoy being “pushed around” a little bit. Heheh!~

And two! While rummaging through my old docs, I found all of old, dusty, prompts I was planning on writing for my either 50 or 100 follower celebration, so I’ll just post them here as a sorry for not being able to finish my old one and the other one I tried to do. I’m so sorry, I’m just really bad a completing big things like that </3 so this is a way for me to show that I’m sincerely sorry for not being about to do that.

❀ fav thing about you

You make her feel like she has the ability to not only become more, but just straight up be more than her ultimate, but also to become mroe social. She feels so happy around you, even if she wears her usual neutral expression. You make her realize how much she cares about others. I think that with your support, she would probably actually try to vioenteer herself as class president (or something like that, I forgot what it was called) while in school, and persuade her to make more friends again after the whole despair ordeal.

❀ a way they are adorable

Whenever she plays games next to you, it’s so adorable to see her fighting back against her body’s affords to fall asleep. Her eyes will be focused on the game in front of her, like a predator stalking their prey, and then they will fall heavier and heavier until they are almost closed, and they they snap back open and return to normal. If she can’t control it anymore, she will just flip against your shoulder and take a mini nap.

❀ fav way to spend time w/ u

Playing games, of course. But, spending time with you in a general sense is also her fav. Most of the time when you hang out together, you are usually playing games. But when it’s class time, she may or not put them away, depending on if Chisa is lenient or not. If so, you and her will spend your class time playing all sorts of games she had on her hand held. Also, you get to pick what you play. Since she has already played all of them, she doesn’t really have a preference. Just as long as it’s with you.

❀ way of showing affection

Quality time. Absolutely. She’s not very good with words, so not words of affection, plus spending time with you playing her games makes her feel connected to you even more. She may feel like she is only her talent, but there is something about doing her talent with you that makes it more… she doesn’t quite know how to describe it.

She doesn’t really use nicknames and would rather use your real name. And the way she says it is even better than a nickname, let me tell ya ;)

❀ How do they cuddle?

Starts with her leaning against you. She never really initiates anything head on and normally finds it easier to do things to hunt that she wants to cuddle (ie leaning against you, putting her legs on your lap, etc) when you both do start cuddling, she pretty much acts like an affection cat, nuzzling into you, humming gently, gentle breathing. It’s adorable tbh.

“Hey Chiaki, want to play this new game I got for us?”

You showed her the box and she nodded, a bright, excited expression on her still face.

“Heheh, I’ll start it up now.”

After a few hours both of you were very tired, limps sprawled out over each others’, barely able to keep up with the game. Chiaki yawned and shifted over to lay next to you. She wrapped her arms around your body, pressing her face into your shoulder. Your eyes widened at her display of affection.

“Do you… wanna go to bed now?”

She nodded sleepily, but didn’t move at all to get up. You chuckled. Maybe it would be okay to just take a nap here.

“Okay. Are you sure you don’t want to get ready for bed or anything?”

You waited for a response, but you were only met with soft breathing. She had already fallen asleep. You smiled at her, giving her a light kiss on the forehead.

“I hope you rest well, I know you really need it.”

As stated before [;)] everything. Anything and everything. Even the parts you apparently don’t like about yourself. The way you bring hope to others and himself, the way you constantly strive to improve your ultimate, the way you act so kind to scum like him. All so perfect in his eyes. Everything about you is perfect.

❀ a way they are adorable

His. Fucking. Expressions! If you literally just hold his hand, give him and short hug, or compliment him on something he did, he will break out into a wild bush and smile, trying to play it off as nothing, as if it was just an accident. But, for god's sake, you gave him a kiss, he would truly combust. He would look like he was on cloud nine, like he is under the influence or something, all just from you doing something so mundane. He is truly an enigma.

Doesn’t have a preference. Anything you want to do is his favorite! He is very easygoing. But, if you truly want to know, it’s doing everyday things with you. For example, when you two are cleaning the classroom, or studying, or even showing him how to cook, he really loves it. When you aren’t looking he will gaze at you with a love sick expression. And it’s just his luck if you accidentally get a glimpse of his face when he does. He will turn bright red and apologize, probably degrading himself as well.

Acts of service, definitely, even if he slightly thinks that the things he does for you are just a waste of your time. He will make you lunch just in case you forgot it, help you with your homework, give you back something you dropped with walking in the halls of in class, or even fucking carry you to school if you want! Hehe! He would honestly do pretty much anything for you tbh.

Doesn’t think he deserves to use nicknames, or even your name for that matter. He doesn’t want to dirty it. But with persistence, time, and reassurance, he will come around eventually. He likes calling you his hope (because you literally are his hope. Without you, he feels like a shell of a person), and his Angel. Or, if he is feeling poetic, he will call you his Angel of hope or his divinity or just beacon of hope.

Here’s the thing. We all know he is a very clingy guy, but he never wants to actually initiate anything unless it is further into the relationship and knows he can open up around you. So it can go two ways. One, the relationship is fairly new and it’s been around maybe half a year. He would only use your last name to be as polite as possible. If you started callin g his nicknames of even just his first name, he would get so

On one lazy Saturday while you were off from school, you decided you wanted to surprise your boyfriend, Nagito. He was unsuspectingly cleaning around your house, which is something he just does without being told to do so, and you were leaking out of a room. He had his back facing you, peacefully dusting the tables. You snickered under your breath and slowly approached him. Once you were close enough, it was time to strike!

“Hiiiiyyyyaaa!!”

You wrapped your arms around his waist tightly, triggering Nagito freeze response. His head whipped around to face you, expecting it to be some sort of killer. But as soon as he saw it was his S/O, a blush and a dazed smile appeared on his face.

“Awww someone’s happy, hm? Just from me hugging you?”

His breathing was a bit uneven as he hummed in response.

“Y-you.. you’re so hopeful, even when I clearly don’t deserve it. I’m such an awful person-“

“Shut it with that. You absolutely deserve it, you deserve everything, you know. You’re so kind to me, so nice to others, heck, you even do my homework when I leave to use the bathroom! That doesn’t sound like a awful person to me.”

Is he thought you were giving him more hope then he could handle before, he definitely did now. He let out a couple soft but deranged laughs, his eyes swirling into spirals, face completely flushed. You realized if you said anymore, he would probably faint or something.

“Why not we both relax on the couch and watch a movie? Does that sound good?”

“Yes! Anything you want to do! I’ll do anything for you!”

(I wanna say he dropped on his knees and looked up at you with a depraved look but I don’t want this to be too long so-)

Your determination. He loves a person with as much determination or presence as himself, it makes him feel as though you are on the same level of him and not some person to be bossed around. He admires that. He doesn’t like someone just based on their looks. He’s not that kind of guy. So if you have a personally similar to himself, know how to hold your own, and are very strong willed, he will low key start to get a crush on you, against his greater judgment of course.

Well, let’s let’s just say if you, I don’t know, totally sweep him off his feet, or even, for the sake of argument, look at him with a pricing look, he may or may not look away out of embarrassment. But yes, he will be a little annoyed he feels this way. A lot annoye,

actually. He will turn into a total tsundere of you play your cards right. You should really try it, it’s totally worth it. ;) And you better know he is literally the most adorable tsundere, some may say even cuter than Mr.Himbo.

Dates at nice places. Since you are his partner, he wants to treat you the way he feels you should be treated. This means that even though you both are in High School, he will not hesitate to take you to fancy dinners on Friday nights, non-alcoholic drinks, of course. He might even give you some nice jewelers or clothes, too, depending on his mood and if he has warmed up to you yet.

Quality time and gifts. Since he is the leader of the yakuza, saying he is rich would be an understatement. He could get you anything you could ever want. (just like Nagito lol) So expect many, many dates and many, many gifts.

Okay, okay, you might think I’m going to say he wants to be held, or he is the little spoon, or that kinda stuff, huh? Well, yes and no. Deep inside he knows he likes being the big spoon. Protecting you from the world makes him feel like even more of a strong man. (Lol) but, something else, maybe his heart, tells him that he does really like being held. Maybe it’s the fact he was brought up in a fairly unsafe environment. Even when he had Peko to protect him, he never truly felt safe. So when you swaddle him in your warmth, even though he doesn’t like being treated like a kid, he can’t deny how comfortable it is.

He gives you a confused look as he walked over to you.

You nodded with a smile, anxiously anticipating what reaction he would have. You slightly gasp as you see tears prick at his eyes.

“Aww, are you crying?”

“N-no! I’m not fucking crying.. it’s just…”

He carefully puts the bracelet on, feeling his heart beat rapidly.

“You’re… you’re just too damn perfect sometimes… come here.”

Your determination and drive!!! She admires people who have the ability to push themselves out of their comfort zones sometimes. Since she never had the perfect life growing up, but has overcome the life and troubles she used to have, she wants to see others achieve the same thing! So if you are down in the dumps, expect a very passionate Akane to be knocking at your door so you, her, and Nekomaru can train together. And it truly does pay off, you feel a lot stronger than before, But unfortunately… it has its downsides. She may try to wake you up at the crack of dawn so you can work out to be ready for the day. Her enthusiasm is truly something to marvel at! The way she acts like an excited puppy when she sees something she likes is so adorable! Her eyes will light up with joy and if she had a tail, it would definitely be wagging.

Akane only murmured sleepily, rubbing her eyes as she both entered your house. She had just gotten back from a whole day spent training with Nekomaru and she was thoroughly exhausted. She wasn’t really hungry for once since she ate before coming back home, so all she felt was an insane amount of tiredness.

Before she could stop herself, she gently grabbed your hand and lead you to the couch, flopping down on top of you. She nuzzled her head in your neck, her body relaxing into yours.

“Ack! Akane?! Huh? Oh, are you tired?”

She slowly nodded in response.

“Want to sleep on the couch tonight or do you want to go to my bed?”

“…. Here…”

“Hehe, okay. Goodnight, sweetie. You did great today.”

Her face grew warmer at your words.

It’s a mixture of things, but overall, she just loves you for you! You’re a new experience, to put it bluntly, for her and as someone who has never really had any of those, she cherishes you so so so much! She loves how unique you are and she especially loves it if you are a bit of a daredevil. She was always sheltered as a kid and she always day dreamed about that kind of stuff!

❀ a way they are adorable

This is more on the funny side, but the way she says and does things. Like, for example, when she gushes about horror movies and true crime with a face of someone who got a puppy for Christmas or the way she will use the most bland and basic curse words and apologize profusely right after. It cracks you up! But, kinda like Akane, she gets this fluffy smile whenever she talks about something she likes. You can tell she is extremely happy when she gets to. So let her talk about her interests more often!!!!

She loves to watch horror movies with you at midnight, eat lunch and study together, or even go on adventures to all kinds of different places! To be honest, touring the world is one of the things on her bucket list. Oh, btw she has a bucket list of things she wants to do before she becomes queen and can’t do it because she would be too busy.

Quality time! But, she likes to spend it most of the time in private. It’s not because she is shy or something (ahem Hinata-) but she just likes it more when it’s just you and no one else.

Tbh he can’t really pick a favorite. If he ever asks you, he will just say the last thing you were complaining about yourself. For example, if you said your face looked weird, he would say his favorite thing was the shape of your face, or if you said you said you were too clingy, he would say his favorite thing was your willingness to rely on others. But If you kept complaining, he would go on a whole long lecture about how you are literally the most perfect person to him. Don’t tempt him, he truly will.

The way he tries to protect you, even in situations where he doesn’t have to. For example of you and him were walking to school together and some on the streets were giving you a weird look, he would move you so he was in between the both of you. And god forbid if they started following the two of you, he wouldn’t hesitate to use his ultimate to trick the person into running away as fast as they could.

Just your everyday things are perfect for him. Eating lunch together, sitting next to you in class, spending time at a restaurant together.

The way she pouts sometimes. Whenever she finishes an argument with someone, her face is always stuck in a pout. But please, don’t tease her for it or else she won’t hesitate to have an argument with you as well. Just try and cheer her up, she will thank you after.

Making memories! All kinds of memories! A reason she takes pictures of others is so you all can have something to cherish, something that doesn’t fade like a memory. So if you say you want to do all kinds of things with her for the purpose of making memories, she would be overjoyed!!

Quality time! As said before, she greatly values making memories with others. But also… something cute she does is sometimes in the morning when you sit down at your desk, you might just see a picture of you and Mahiru spending time together after school the previous day. Just as the two of you were beginning to walk back inside, something caught your eye. You turned around to see a huge rainbow stretching over the sky. You put a hand on Mahiru's shoulder to stop her.

“Huh? Something wrong?”

“Look! It’s a rainbow! It’s so beautiful!”

She turned around to see the same sight you were. Her eyes lit up, mind reeling with the possibilities of pictures.

“Hey, can you pose in front of it?”

“Heheh… what happened to going inside?”

“Come on, please? Eheh! It will be really pretty!”

keeps up a facade of being coquettish and flirtatious ( i never watched doona but that was the vibe i got from her gifs lmfao ) i think she can be quite charming tbh the queen of breadcrumbing ‪♡‬ keep them close enough, but never enough to touch. it's sort of a coping mechanism. safe space where no one can see what a shit person she really is and how she doesnt really deserve love

no one really knows much abt her and she intends to keep it that way

heavily motivated by wanting to know more! generally the kind of person who would conduct wild ass experiments or "would you love me if i were a worm" i kinda picture it like how finnick in catching fire is like he's paid with secrets!! same vibe with seori :D

pretty ordinary life growing up. parents are not particularly rich but they don't struggle either. happy small town family ‪:)

shit hits the fan when shes twelve and her brother is fourteen and they find out hes an anomaly. superhuman strength and speed. finds out after he saves a dog from getting hit by a car

if it had been anyone else, perhaps, they would've been the town's outcast but because it's her older brother, all conventional good looks with conventionally lauded powers, they worship him. he becomes the town's superman, girls come up and take pictures with him, he even gets featured in the town parade and seori is just there in the shadows

it gets even worse two years later when she finds out shes also anomaly! but unlike her brother, seori causes an incident of projectile vomiting after a particularly envious moment where her family forgets her birthday and instead, spends the day with her brother. it is messy and disgusting and it happens in the town center. no one forgets. and seori is no longer there in the shadows, she's actively cast out, whispers about why she cant be more like her brother and this is why anomalies should not be given rights

it takes seori some time to figure out her powers but she gets the hang out of it. not that it matters lol shes the black sheep, the 'villain' because goddamn shes literal poison. even her family treats her that way

she doesn't believe those words until one day she gets into a heated argument with her family. tells her mum that shes a person too and wails her father that no one has called her by her name in years and she's nothing but a stain in their family. they don't deny it and in a fit of rage and hurt and anger, she manages to cause irreversible brain damage to her brother

and that is the moment seori realizes she is the villain everyone talks about and she is the monster (doesnt help that her pupils are dark and her veins are black) !!! not a pretty look (think the monsters in sweet home before they transform kind of vibe) and so she runs

runs and runs and runs to seoul where she gets by on illegal means. she is ashamed of the things she has done (e.g., disrupting the storeowners vision long enough to get food to eat, sent someone into unconsciousness and pretended to be their granddaughter caring for them to get a house to stay, batting doe-eyes to boys who will buy her a pack of ramen) and since then shes actively working on being a better person

swears to keep her feelings in control, only uses her powers when justified (although her moral compass is cracked)

𖥸 ─ wanted connections

Hallo, I'm posting this entry like a week late but it's better than nothing tbh. Anyways this is my first weekly music update, i basically just talk about what music i really like from that week. I will be talking about new music i find, my favourite songs, what playlist im listening to the most and show my spotify stats as well😋

This week, due to the announcements related to Melanie Martinez's new album, I have gone back to my roots and have been listening to all of my favourite songs by her. Melanie has been one of my favourite artists for years now, probably since just before k12 came out!! It's really hard to decide on my favourite songs by her since I really like all of them; despite this I have still decided on my favourite song from each album/ep. From crybaby we have 'pacify her'; from k12 it was a bit harder to decide but i'm going to go with 'highschool sweethearts', and lastly from the after school ep we have 'The bakery'. In the last week almost all of my top songs have slowly become melanie, she's just really amazing like that I guess. Anyways i'm super excited for the new album, her new form is really pretty💕

Some of the other songs seeping into my spotify stats are from a playlist I have called "WHAT IS THIS MELODY ''. This playlist has quite a bit of crystal castles in it. In Fact the overall theme of this playlist is just crystal castles and other songs that I think are kind of similar. I think that my favourite song this week was probably 'Goth' by Sidewalks and skeletons, this song is on the previously mentioned playlist as well!! I just really love how the song sounds, it's a good one to listen to on loop while doing things😊

Other artists I've listened to a lot this week are Lana Del Rey and Glass Animals. I really got into Lana near the middle of last year due to my friend who is a lana stan, and I'm honestly very grateful for it. Lana has so many amazing songs, i just sometimes feel like i'm on another planet listening to them, she managed to place in my top 3 artists during spotify wrapped last year lmao. I don't particularly have a favourite song by her at the moment but i think ultraviolence and art deco may tie with each other. Anyways moving onto glass animals, they have been my favourite band since around 2016. I initially found them through sally face and creepypasta animated memes; 'pork soda' and 'The other side of paradise' , , they really had a chokehold on us all istg. My favourite album by glass animals is probably 'how to be a human being' . Every single song on that album is a masterpiece, I literally cannot dislike any of them if I tried. My favourite song from HTBAHB is probably 'pork soda'; from zaba its 'black mambo'; from dreamland 'space ghost coast to coast', and finally my favourite single is 'golden antlers'🥰

Majority of the music at the top of my stats came from me listening to them on loop for hours at a time and also from exclusively listening to the same playlist for weeks. I haven't actually listened to them in a while. They're just still up there from listening to them so much. Fun fact "miss you" by south star has been in my top 20 for months now, i listened to it 399 times last year and i can't seem to get rid of it from my stats now. Anyways, I am now currently working to get rid of those songs from my stats😭

🗣️Talk about your favourite WIP

i am so excited to talk about this FSHLFSG so i always find multi-chaptered fics super intimidating and i have this thing planned out from start to finish and written about 20k words for it but im too scared to post it unless im at least halfway done bc i dont want to risk abandoning it 〒▽〒

i dont even know if anyone in this fandom knows about these books, its a beyblade x all for the game crossover, you dont need to know anything about aftg, its just the setting but then with the mfb characters and beyblade instead of exy. kyoya is neil (obviously, its me duh) and on the run from his dad and gets recruited for the metal state spirits, a pretty decent college beyblade team. it has its two star players gingka (kind of a mix of kevin/matt) and ryuga (andrew; yup this is ryukyo) who convince kyoya to accept the offer despite him knowing it will put him at risk.

so theyre all in college, and the spirits are gingka as the team captain, then ryuga, kenta, hikaru, benkei, yu and kyoya. ryo is the coach. hyoma the team's physician. hokuto is their psychiatrist lmao.

i dont want to reveal everything yet bc there is some mystery there especially if you dont know the books (and even if you do cos i did make a lot of changes to the original plot); but ill put a short scene at the bottom under the cut if that interests anyone

👻Is there a scene that you find intimidating that you have yet to write?

tbh anything that is very introspective is intimidating to me and i am in particular talking about the dark trio and the dark power right now because thats a thing i promised and desperately wanted to do for mayblade but i am struggling so hard with how exactly to go about this. i have a whole word document dedicated to how the dark power affected each one of the dark trio but the how and why of the conversation(s) they would have about that completely eludes me at the moment bc i need it to be at least kind of in character and it has so many references in canon which is exhausting and intimidating both. i am honestly just writing all the other prompts i still have for mayblade first and probably will be leaving this one for last or until i have a sudden flash of inspiration. you never know.

the worst thing about this is that i have several ideas for several short fics talking about the dark power and the dark trio or just tsubasa or just hikaru (kyoya just wasnt as affected lol) but obv still have the same problem for these. i am so fascinated by what you could do with these kids and their trauma i just wish i knew how to go about it haha ha... ughhh

okay heres the snippet for the aftg crossover:

Kyoya only realizes his mistake once it's already too late. He's too engrossed in teaching Gingka a lesson that he doesn't notice another person appear behind Gingka until they grab his T-shirt and violently yank him around. Kyoya’s back slams against the row of lockers next to the door to the locker room. Ryo angrily shouts, "Ryuga!" but gets no response.

Internally, Kyoya sighs in exasperation. Gingka Hagane and Ryuga Himoto. He is in a room with the two people he has vowed to keep as far away from as possible. In his mind he sends a quick prayer heavenward and apologizes to his mother for all the stupid decisions that have brought him into this situation.

Ryuga fixes him with an unreadable stare of golden eyes. His hands are still clutching Kyoya's shirt, but he looks composed, almost bored. Kyoya returns his gaze with hostility, but knows he wouldn't win a fight against Ryuga because he is taller and in a decidedly more advantageous position than Kyoya.

However, when nothing happens after a few moments, he realizes that this is just Ryuga's intimidation tactic and forcefully tears himself away, taking a few steps back from Ryuga.

He looks at Ryo, whose attention is on Ryuga, a disapproving twist at the corners of his mouth. "Is that your usual tactic for recruiting new bladers?" Ryo turns his attention back to Kyoya. "Because the tactic sucks."

Gingka laughs briefly and Ryo sighs, running a hand over his face, exhausted. "No," he says, rolling his eyes. "It's not our normal tactic. But we usually don't have such a hard time convincing new bladers to join us."

"That surprises me," Kyoya replies dryly which elicits a resigned smile from Ryo.

I havent read the novel from between us,but i was suprised seeing youre post about youre fav scene..like the open house one, and that its probably gonna be in the series. like...beeing lgbt isnt really a big deal in bl´s. like homophobie doesnt really exist (what i like, cause its refreshing and a nice change, from the sometimes harsh reality) and most characters in bl´s are queer. like there are more queer then straight characters. 80 % are queer, so its not really a big thing. litteraly kinda everyone is into the same gender (its also the case in between us) so im suprised that there is gonna be such a scene tbh..im genrell curios though, how similar they gonna make it to the novel and what changes and all that. i also read somewhere that win is gonna punch team,after he finds him kinda throwning, is that true?!?! also what is the pool scene so many people talk about? Im curious..

Okay so! The thing I love about New as a director is that he's queer himself and outspoken about the kind of stories he wants to tell. He wants to tell multifaceted queer stories (and he loves drama). I imagine that's what drew him to Sheep's writing, because Red Thread is very focused on queer struggle and literal rebirth. Hemp Rope is much lighter by comparison, but it still has some very explicitly queer-oriented scenes and conversations. So the homophobia scene I talked about, the one I'm excited to see, is one of several queer-focused topics in the novel. And Win is canonically bi! Like me! I'm a big, big fan of LazySheep.

As for how similar the series will be to the novel: we don't know, but Sheep tweeted recently to assure people that the series will be very much its own thing and there will be scenes in the series that won't be in the novel. Essentially, it's a true adaptation in that Sheep took elements from her novel and adapted them for the screen. I'm genuinely impressed that she adapted Red Thread into UWMA and Hemp Rope (INCOMPLETE NO LESS) into Between Us. I'm a big, big fan of LazySheep

[SPOILERS FOR THE NOVEL AND THE SERIES] The punch is in the novel. Everyone's mileage will vary on the scene, but I personally didn't mind it. I actually thought it was an interesting character choice since Win is so perpetually calm and composed. The way the novel set up the scene, Team is flippant and almost bratty about the fact that he nearly died, so I interpreted Win punching him as the only moment in Win's life that he actually lost control. Again, it worked for me in the novel. But when they filmed the scene for the pilot teaser last year, Boun decided his version of Win wouldn't do that, so he hugged Prem instead, and New and Sheep both liked the change, and it was received overwhelmingly positively by viewers, so they kept it in the main series as well (you can see the hug in the trailer).

[SPOILERS FOR THE NOVEL AND THE SERIES] The pool scene is the larger event happening around the punch. Team sneaks into the pool after hours when the club is on break because he can't sleep and he's nervous about the upcoming competition. He doesn't stretch first, he swims to exhaustion, his leg cramps up, and he starts to drown. Win is there late doing his vice presidential duties, sees the light on in the pool area, and sees Team at the bottom of the pool. So he saves him. It's probably in the next episode. \:D/

made me want to cry

i interpreted it as being about wanting to go back to your childhood, wishing you could go back to where you started, to your roots, before you grew up and changed and who you used to be dissolved into memory

the fact that the word “electrons” appears in the song makes me strangely happy. its an uncommon word and its just so cool that it’s in there

the parts about the world ending could be interpreted in a lot of different ways, for me it felt like a cry for your life falling apart around you, collapsing in on yourself like a dying star and wishing you could just go back and undo it all

“we could try a little harder” vs “if i go back, will i do it all the same?” would you truly re-do all the mistakes and experiences that brought you to who you are now? would you try harder and be better, at the cost of the person you are now?

the bridge hits hard though, wishing you were more than you are, wishing for adventure and stories to tell, feeling like you’re wasting your potential

ok so at first i definitely misinterpreted this one i think

i took it literally, she likes seeing herself cry, a take on narcissism?

however now i think its more of a sarcastic “yeah, because i just love seeing myself cry in the mirror.”

because she talks about the doctor not believing her, saying shes just tired, its all in her head and she just needs to get out of bed and start being productive

ok so obviously no pressure but i've been meaning to ask all day: i want to start watching star trek (bc i need to get into classier sci-fi) but have absolutely no idea what to watch first...there are so many different versions man. i thought maybe since you like star trek i could ask you which series you like best so i could start there :P

!!!!! i am so excited i am bouncing up and down (though I dont know about classier scifi……it's mostly silly and hopeful, which is what I like about it, but i wouldn't necessarily call it classy lmao)

Oh there is going to be so much text im so sorry this is probably not what you were counting on lmao

Ok so short answer is: Strange New Worlds if you want a peek into what's happening in here, or whatever vibes with you from the old shows, but probably The Original Series (TOS) (starting from the roots) or The Next Generation (TNG) (still from the roots but a bit more energetic bc its the 80s now) are best

Most of it is on the same timeline, but independent enough that you are safe to start with +- any series you like the premise of i think. That said, I am a big admirer of Strange New Worlds, which imo is the best of both worlds (hehe) in terms of inheriting all the good trek stuff and also being a modern production. It's monster-of-the-week, it touches upon cool topics, and generally just a good show. I watched trek in 2021, where i sat down and just got through all of the stuff that was out there in order of release start to finish in the span of something like 10 months? 11? i even had a spreadsheet to track my progress, and it was a bit of a mind-altering exercise (I remember emerging out of it like: where am i. what am i watching next. there is no trek left)

All of that is to say that The Original Series is an obvious place to start, but tbh I don't like it much. It is very fun and has a great cultural and historical significance etc, but for me it's way too slow-paced (small attention span girlie here) and, well. misogynistic. It's just very much a product of it's time I suppose. Though I do adore the original cast and my heart belongs to the og wacky alien designs

The Next Generation is better in terms of, well, speed: my brother once said that it resembles a radio spectacle, and he is not entirely wrong. The public seems to agree that the first season is a wash, but tbh I don't find it that objectionable (though i do seem to generally have All The Wrong Opinions, bc I like Enterprise which is apparently considered the worst series overall? Idk it has it's unfortunate moments but I disliked Voyager more) Generally, TNG is a good place to start I think if you want to go in a somewhat chronological order but The Original Series is too much: it's very similar in vibes but a lot more watchable I think.

The last option to start is Deep Space Nine, it's a bit of an add one bc I think they were trying to do something a bit new with it, and I have to say that it took me two seasons to warm up to the main cast (it's not necessarily bad, but I am used to opening up any trek and immediately having 10 new blorbos and that didn't happen there and I was Sad) BUT it is genuinely very good. It's a bit darker in places, has great themes, overarching plot arc, my favourite eugenics plotline, great cast. Basically it's a bit grittier trek for those who are tired of vanilla pink glasses trek. (it's not. actually gritty. it's pretty chill still) It's not a very obvious place to start, both in terms of it's less well-known, and, well, it's the 'one that's not like the others', which is a bit pointless when you don't have a feel of what the others are like, but I don't really know what your taste is and I think it's always better just to watch whatever part vibes with you most instead of aiming for some sort of completionism or whatever. Unless you want the popculture primer that is, then TOS or TNG are your boys

There is a lot of other stuff, but tbh I wouldn't rec it as a place to start for various reasons (Voyager I just plain don't like; Enterprise has a cool premise but it's about the very beginning of space exploration and is much less trek-y bc of it; most of the modern stuff is either not very good or relies heavily on old stuff, either in terms of being prequels/sequels/midquels or being genre deconstruction (like Lower Decks, which I think is great but it's a bit useless if you don't know what it's trying to deconstruct)

Sidenote about the new movies (2009-2016): I don't have anything bad to say about them, I think they were the first trek I ever watched, but they are also very much mid-tier blockbusters in a trek coat and not very trek-like. Are they enjoyable? absolutely. Will they give you a good idea of what trek is? Probably not. They're also the only ones on the alternative timeline, so they don't actually tie into anything before of after and thus aren't a great launching point.

His hair!!! Yes! I like it too. I also like that they went with a whole different direction with Unmei's design as opposed to the other protagonist's desgins because before this, the protagonists usually looked like Regular guys as far as anime goes

Like just look at them. Obviously they aren't full regular guy bc this is anime style still, but they aren't too flashy. They did stray away with it when it came to Asuto a bit bc idk what that hair is, but with Unmei they just went all out. It's nice, it's new.

And tbh I think that Haru takes the "regular guy" approach in design choices this time around. Bc in IE we have the main protagonists (the guys above), but we also have the main trios and their designs are mixed when it comes to full anime and just regular guys

The original trio can all pass as regular guys, gryphon trio (with Tenma) (also apparently GO/Gryphon trio is also their ship name, I found that out when I was looking for images HELP) is mixed, Tsurugi is anime and Shindou is just a guy. Ares trio is like, the most anime.

As for Victory Road idk who the full trio is, maybe we don't even have a trio this time around! They have been mostly focusing on Unmei and Haru and nobody else really, so maybe they opted for a protag duo this time! However, it is possible that Jouji is the third protag bc he's been pretty prominent too, just not as much. Though can't be sure, bc Jouji has been mostly shown with the other important characters rather than a focus like Haru and Unmei...

Got shown in the latest PV and I haven't seen him before. He also got shown right before Haru and Unmei so ??? Maybe it's this guy while Jouji fills the role of the best friend or childhood friend instead! I'm really curious, honestly I hope that they do all the new characters justice bc I'm sooo excited to meet them and grow attached to them. Out of the characters I haven't mentioned, I'm personally looking forward to seeing Garyuu and Soji a lot!! I reached the image limit for this one so maybe I can show them later...

ANYWAYS HARU. I'm really excited to see Haru because like AJFIGJFJAJWF!!!! Not only am I excited to see a kid of an older character in general bc I wanna know what Endou was like as a dad, but Haru's story already intrigues me. Haru's title is Soccer Monster and he is incredibly talented and good at soccer (which isn't surprising considering he is THE son of THE legendary goalkeeper Endou Mamoru (Mamoru Endou actually, I'm just used to doing last name, first name for IE lmao) who is known far and wide in the IE world), BUT in reality he finds soccer kinda boring (Endou is crying a river hearing this). And like, you know, obviously he finds it boring because he is simply TOO GOOD at it, he probably doesn't have any challenges anymore right now. So I'm really excited to see what they do with him bc from some things they have shown he and Unmei become friends quickly and Unmei even shares tactics for matches with Haru even though they aren't on the same team (does this mean Haru switches to Unmei's school? I wonder). So I wonder how everything is going to actually play out, I'm guessing that he relearns that soccer is fun together with Unmei, but can't be sure.

Anyways, Unmei! Apparently Unmei starts out hating soccer and then ????? And now we gotta bring back soccer??? Really curious how the plot is going to play out here too. Also, Unmei himself doesn't actually play, he's actually going to be the team's manager. Though he does know how to play soccer from what we have seen, so I wouldn't be surprised if they go PLOT TWIST and Unmei ends up becoming an actual player later in the game. But him not being a player is also a new approach for a protagonist!!! They are doing so many new things with this game!!! I like it and I am excited to actually see the whole game and experience the new story!!!!!!!!!!

I love him throughout the whole fic tbh, I think sometimes authors when writing ""enemies"" to lovers (i mean are they really enemies if Harry was in love with him FOR MONTHS 💀) either make the first conflict too harsh or then make characters' reaction not proportionate at all with the event itself but I think that Louis' behavior in yours was so credible, I really really loved dtl.

5th I WANT TO GO. I live in europe sooo I thought I had already gotten over my "I wanna live in the USA when I grow up 😍" era, but reading your descriptions of Cleveland made me want to AT LEAST go there to visit it.

6th OK SO. I HAVE STARTED THE INNINGS. IN FACT, I'VE READ ALMOST ALL OF THEM. I think the next one is the tenth. Memory: the little girl herself is really quiet and, honestly? kind of nervous around new people. I mean, imagine this poor kid who's been thrown to this. I think you guys would get along great. immediate parental-figure to her tbh. everyone in the damn manor is. this kid is literally never going to get away from the "see when I was your age-" kind of thing. but you? she's relaxed around you. you still make sure she's safe, but with your quiet demeanor, she feels like she can be a little more lax with her... dumb kid stuff. you're not going to be loud, or confront her on anything unless its life-threatening. she likes it! and maybe takes a little bit of an advantage of it. if you say something is okay, then she's gonna flaunt it to everyone who tells her it isn't. she likes baking with you, its a quiet activity that doesn't require anyone else nearby. you don't need to talk to anyone but her, and, honestly? she does the majority of the talking anyway. she likes you better than most adults! you just let her talk and don't tell her that eating the burnt part of the cookie is bad!

Hastur: out of both of the deities in the manor, Hastur is probably the better one to go to. Yidhra is nice! but she is so fucking scary oh my god. Hastur is quiet as well, but he's definitely not shy. if he finds you interesting, then he will talk to you about it. even if you're not responding in full sentences because holy shit an actual god is talking to you! if anyone were to make you feel uncomfortable, whether it be by forcing you into a situation you don't want to be in, or taking advantage of your shyness (memory...), he would step in. in the events of the manor, unfortunately, there isn't much Hastur can do to stop them from happening. unlike you, a survivor, Hastur feels no fear to the manor. he cannot be hurt (except for stuns), he is a powerful deity, and therefore the terror is almost minimized. and, Hastur doesn't so much as feel empathy. he has never needed to. but for you, he is willing to nod along as you whisper about the match(es) that day, and offer a shoulder of support. maybe a head pat, if you had a particularly bad day. he is nice to you, and although you're a little awkward to him, he pays it nearly no mind.

Jack: now THIS guy, on the other hand, is not even close to as kind as Hastur. he immediately flocks to you, after you get absolutely destroyed in a match. he finds your terror endearing, in some weird way. he is part psychopath, after all. but when you really don't respond to him, or even give him any attention, he wonders if you're turned off by him, y'know, trying to murder you. so he tries to make it up to you! by cornering you after he murdered all of your teammates! so approachable! when you finally admit that you're just shy, and a bit nervous, he feels really bad. like super bad. he did just murder your entire support system and corner you in the back of China Town. once you get past the first introduction, where he profusely apologizes for being uncaring towards your feelings, its mostly just him trying to woo you. he's flirtatious, there's no denying that. so he'll bring you flowers, and bask in your gorgeous flustered face. sometimes he'll cook you your favorite meal and bring it to you, sending you random presents, the works. I think that Jack was (maybe) a survivor before he became the Ripper, so he understands your fear to the manor, and assures you he'll try to go soft on you during matches with him. he keeps his promise, sometimes... he's more empathetic than Hastur, but don't think he'll go easy on ya!

♥Luchino: Luchino is, to no one's surprise, incredibly awkward. like, he's definitely not shy by a long shot, but he's so awkward about initiating conversations with anyone. especially since he's so physically terrifying. he's afraid he'll scare anyone by trying to talk to them! so, if you want to talk to him, sorry honey, but you're gonna have to talk to him first. but honestly? once you get over the hurdle of talking, being with him is so damn easy. he's so chill, very go-with-the-flow. definitely not as awkward as before, and really nice. he understands your feelings of fear, and applauds you multiple times for coming so far in the manor. and even more so to talk to him, he knows how intimidating he can be, so expect lots of head pats from him. since his transformation, Luchino doesn't feel fear as effectively as before. but during his transformation? pure terror. he gets disgustingly scared when thinking of the pain he had been in, no matter how long or short it took. he's incredibly sympathetic to you, but don't tease him about it! if anyone makes note of how kind he is to you during matches (giving you the dungeon, or purposefully missing his jumps and hits so he doesn't hurt you), he'll get very embarrassed about it most days with him are spent in comfy silence. sometimes he'll speak up, but with you both being on the quieter and shyer side, its a good comfortable silence. he's good with helping you deal with your bouts of shyness, but is in no way shape or form good with dealing with his own. what a hypocrite!
