Ugh. I just learned that the creator of Pixelfed has exhibited some problematic behaviour towards Black people. I am so fucking tired of so many people who do good work not meeting the basic criteria for a decent human being. Why is this hard?!

Pixelfed is good software! I love it a lot! But yes, it’s not good that there is only one developer, and it’s doubly not good that he’s being called out on his anti-Black behaviour and shrugging it off! I am so frustrated.

What do I do now? Can’t recommend Pixelfed without this caveat obviously. It’s still open source, and whoever runs the instance still probably makes the bigger difference in day to day interactions, so I’m hoping a cool team of developers will fork it and do a better job…

Harry did not do black face when he retweeted Nicks post with a picture of him that Nick took with a Snoop dog filter. This was 2012, this app still exist and it never changed your skin color. I'm a white, blonde, blue-eyed woman so whether or not Harry did blackface is not my call to make. If you're not black, that's not your call to make either. If you are black, you should have a talk with the black fans who did find it offensive back when it happened. Not only is he doing blackface, it's also cultural appropriation.

There's also an issue with people stealing fanfic authors' stories (probably downloading them off of AO3), binding them into books, and selling them for a lot of money. Not to mention the amount of fanfic authors that are selling their fic to their Patreon subscribers or getting actual commissions for their fanfic where money changes hands as well.

Aside from toxic fans who do nothing but to be disgusting pieces of shit on the fandom that they're into, they fucking had a great idea to monetize a fanfiction for every chapter.

It's a fanfiction for a reason. You don't own the original work of the fanfic that you're writing into.

You Twitter/X people who likes monetizing everything is threatening the AO3 site to be a commercial site or worst to be shutdown for legal purposes.

Go work your asses off and write an original work and promote it to other platforms if you don't want to be threatened to be sued for a intellectual property by the original author themselves.

the difference between jeverus and snirius i think, is that once james and severus get together, james just becomes a romantic with stalkerish and obsessive tendencies but he stops being mean to severus.

but for snirius, they act more like an old married couple and neverr ever stop being at least a little bit mean to each other, but it's more affectionate obviously.

No, I am sorry, I'm going to say this.

If you are under the age of 18 (I think it is 17 in the US), you should not be engaging with the fandom. Especially not with content creators who make NSFW content. Most creators have "minors do not interact" policies in place, or at least a proceed with caution notice. If you choose to ignore that and engage with NSFW content creators anyway, or you choose to conceal your age, then that's on you.

People tend to assume that it's adults playing an adult game and engaging with adult content. And they will treat you accordingly.

You also shouldn't lie about being younger to get out of an argument and make others feel guilty either.

isn't it interesting how spop picks and chooses when to focus on a serious issue? when salineas was first conquered by the horde, the initial effect is that of legitimate horror and despair.

but then in the next episode, they go right back to wacky shenanigans vibe, and show us mermista comically moping around in a bathtub with ice cream, making cynical remarks as if she merely got stood up by her date and didn't, you know, go through the intense trauma of having her people killed or seriously injured.

then when entrapta returns, mermista is mad at her because suddenly she's hit with the reality of her kingdom? and it's okay that she yelled at entrapta and pulled on her hair, because she was so traumatized about salineas, even though she didn't seem to care that deeply about it in previous episodes?

and then catra, the person who led the attack with hordak, is "redeemed" and she doesn't get punished for it the same way entrapta (who only made the weapons) did.

hi! so. I'm asking for advice about something from anyone.

So at my highschool, there's this boy I'm gonna call E. He's autistic and a senior. My friends and I (mostly female friend group) are all sophomores or freshmen.

This boy creeps us all the fuck out. He gets extremely close to us, steals our stuff (we do it to each other but that's different) and he follows us. He hugs us without asking. He's read my phone over my shoulder before. He interrupts us when we talk.

We've all very verbally and very clearly asked him to back up or stop touching us or to let us talk and he ignores us. Specifically he ONLY listens to the boys when they ask him to stop on our behalf. He's been talked to multiple times by teachers as well and continues to do this.

He's been doing this for two years now. I don't know what to do because my friends don't wanna do anything because they don't want to seem rude

Any advice?

Esp's autistic and used ta' struggle with somethin' similar to this when he was younger.

What worked for me was ta' not engage with it, ya'know?

If I talked ta' him or asked him ta' stop while he was actively doin' it, he would just see he was gettin' a reaction which was what he wanted since he struggled ta' comprehend personal boundaries.

Then, after a while when I stopped reactin' he just stopped cuz he wasn't gettin' the reaction he wanted.
