Enjoy some of my favorite stories I've come across on Tumblr! Seriously, I LOVE these stories and I reread them A LOT!
Please note: Virtually ALL OF THESE STORIES ARE SMUT. That means 18+ content, and you are responsible for managing your internet consumption. Minors DNI.
FicRecs
DC Comics
Dance for Daddy by @matth1w LAWD. I love me some Roman Sionis fics and this one DELIVERS. Sexy, kinky, smutty I give it a solid Chefs Kiss.
Joy Ride and Let Me Make You Feel Good, The Intern by @littleredwing89 More delicious Roman Sionis one shots Joy ride is about teasing Roman as he drives and Let Me Make You Feel Good is about a sweet smutty cure for a hangover. And the Intern, a fuck buddies to lovers story, god yum. Reader inserts. Drool. Go forth read and enjoy.
Bait the Beast by @more-cardigan-than-womanLord help me, I found a new little gem. You cause a bit of a ruckus with Coblepot and Roman thinks you need a lesson.
Yours by @tarrenterror25set in the AO! Verse Roman is having some trouble during the holidays overcoming everything the Joker did to him, good thing he has you. Because he does. You're his now. Melt. Sorry about the mess.
Star Wars
Water and Rock by @split-spectrum I honestly cannot say enough good things about this story It follows Obi-wan/Fem Reader in the classic Master/Padawan troupe and it. is. SPICY. Up to twelve chapters which I have read MULTIPLE TIMES and it hits so hard. Go read this story it is sexy as HELL and gives you the feels. She's so damn good at writing Obi-Wan it hurts, but like in a kinky good way.
The Gift by @ladyinwriting18 I have already spoke at length about the fabulousness that is Lady in Writing and her amazing content. This one is a favorite! Its a Maul/Reader Insert and it is smutty sxy and kinky. Seriously if Maul is your fictional crush (Hi me too!), go read this.
The Three Princes Part One: The Oldest Profession by @thenightmarketofdathomir This writer is freaking legendary. I do not know the collection of words in my own language to describe the eloquence and sophistication this writer possesses. Just go. Go read this and you let me know if you're ever the same again. This gem stars our boy Feral and is a you/reader insert. Oh damn, this story makes me want things...
Birthday Wish, Romancing the Pages, The Write Seduction, To Create Life, by @jedianjakenobi Y'all, this author holds a special place in my writer's heart. She's a published author on Amazon and she's truly amazing. Her works are all Obi-Wan-centered and reader inserts. Birthday Wish is a birthday crush from your sexy neighbor, Romancing the Pages is a fake relationship/summer romance with a reclusive shy librarian (Ben) and a best-selling author, The Write Seduction is a professor Kenobi/writing student story and it is SPICY. And my favorite To Create Life is a Jedi Council green lights a baby-making program and who else is the reader paired with? Their good friend Padawan Kenobi. Empty Me Out by @221bshrlocked reader insert/DOM Obi-Wan I'm tellin y'all this story NEARLY killed me. I've lost track of how many times I've readit. You're an entertainer and Master Kenobi needs information from you, so you give him what he wants and then he gives you what you want. Where it Wasn't massage therapy reader insert/Obi-Wan, do I need to say more? Pretty sure I melted into the floor with this one.
His Loving Satine by @waterlily707 I love reader insterT and OCs but these two Obi-Wan and Satine are a joy to read. Temporary paralyzed Obi-Wan at the "mercy" of a slightly dom Satine. Juicy, gorgeous, little bit of fluff. Love it.
Room 24 by @murdockussy Little angsty Obi-Wan/reader insert enemies to lovers in an undercover assignment-type situation. Spicy, dom Obi-Wan give. Me. More.
Tea with Lemon, Tea with Honey by @wickedscribbles an established relationship as a reader insert and Obi-Wan. If you want honey then you get to take care of a sick Obi-Wan and kind out you have a new kink, if you want Lemon then Obi-Wan takes advantage of said kink and whisks you away to another planet for some R&R under the guise of "work." Enjoy!

A character of mine used to work as a e.r. doctor, but then he got blind and can't work with that anymore
What other professions would he be able to do using his previous experience as a doctor?
Hello!
It depends a lot on their level of blindness, the cause of it, their previous life experiences, etc.
Somebody that's partially blind or has relatively mild vision loss may still be able to continue working in a medical capacity, though maybe not the ER as that's a fairly fast-paced environment that relies on processing visual stimuli with high degrees of accuracy.
There are other branches of medicine where they could work. Psychiatry, for example, or potentially family medicine.
Other careers could include working in physiotherapy or massage therapy, teaching in a medical context, etc. If you want them to continue working with the same people or at the same hospital, you could have them continue working there in a bureaucratic context.
Cheers,

Canada RMT Tax Exempt Petition 2024
there is an official petition open now for massage therapy to not have taxes charged on top of the treatment cost!!
so firstly it makes getting a massage treatment from a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) a lot more affordable!
secondly, this is huge for RMTs since we’re seen as a medical profession here and yet have to charge taxes, unlike chiros and physios that are tax exempt as medical expenses.
most therapists work as sub-contractors at clinics, so are taxed as small businesses but don’t have the expenses to claim to offset that cost (the clinics we work for claim the expenses but foot the tax bill to us once we make 30k). it gets pretty expensive trying to pay those fees each year on top of regular expenses and CEUs.
so every [Canadian] signature on this would be super appreciated and helpful!! As well as boosting the message 🙏
Thank-you so much for your time!

just found your account! question for you that you might not know the answer to but I would like to ask anyway: are there any accessible careers in medicine for a disabled person? I've pretty thoroughly researched med school and yeah I could not do that lmao. But I'm also not sure I want to give up on all of that? Like maybe there are career paths where the training and work just isn't so physically demanding? if you have any suggestions for me that would be so helpful.
Good question. There ARE doctors out there with a range of disabilities, but it's a very challenging journey because of the omnipresent bias from everyone around you--admissions committees, professors, preceptors, attendings, fellow students. There are also a wide variety of disabilities, so disabilities that would make one job very difficult could be a negligible barrier for another.
If you're interested in health professions but "doctor" doesn't have to be the be-all end-all, here's a list of some of the other professions I work with regularly and consider indispensable that you might want to look into:
-Physical therapy
-Occupational therapy
-Pharmacy
-Mental health counseling
-Substance use counseling
-Nursing (approach with caution; this is another field with a long history of brutal hazing)
-Dentistry
-NOT PODIATRY. Good God. I saw the Podiatry residents at our hospital and they had NO WORK HOUR RESTRICTIONS. They were constantly on the verge of collapse.
-Nutrition
-Respiratory therapy
-Midwife
-Doula
-Lactation consultant
-Sonographer
-CT/MRI technician
-EMT
-Dialysis technician
-Speech Language Pathology
-Chaplain
-Social work
-Healthcare Navigator
-Hospice
-Massage therapy
-Research assistant
You can do so much for people without ever going to medical school. Don't get tunnel vision about your future. Chase what's best for YOU.

Your anatomy is so good. Any tips?
i'm a different case when it comes to art. i studied extensive + detailed human anatomy, not for art purposes, but bc i went to school for massage therapy. my art improved immediately, drastically, + in ways that i didn't know i was missing out on after graduating.
but i've never been an artist that shared the mindset of "to be a good artist, you have to study anatomy," bc i know that some ppl can't retain the information, for art or otherwise, nor is "correct anatomy" a necessity for every art style. i'm lucky bc i am able to retain that info for my profession + my art. i absolutely do not believe studying anatomy is a must in every artist's circumstance, but since i love realism + my art style is heavily based in realism, the artistic application of my anatomy knowledge is the one to thank for all + any improvement in the last 3 years.
so, i guess, study anatomy if you have the mind for it. and do not ever consider yourself "a failure" if you can't get it. blasting your brain with detailed information that is already carrying a significant intimidating weight in your mind is not a guaranteed way of learning for everyone. there are other techniques to absorbing information + something will work for you.
i also watch a lot of live-action movies + shows; i like looking at humans, studying features + shapes + clothing. everybody views things differently, so acknowledging your artistic point of view + understanding how your mind processes these shapes, colors, etc. and how you as an individual sees + translates + incorporates these details into your art helps, too.
then again, i'm also a wildly different case bc i watched darkwing duck later that year after graduation + somehow that's when i started understanding clothing folds. something clicked pertaining to clothing folds while drawing darkwing duck fanart. i'm not exactly sure how to give genuine advice bc my art journey isn't... comprehensible to anyone other than myself.
tl;dr - art tips for anatomy: i study anatomy. i draw for fun + i draw a lot. in special occasions, the passage of time will help you + things will finally click when you least expect them to.

All About Occupational Therapy (OT)
Fun fact about the bloggy author- I’m an occupational therapy student!  I find that so many people could really benefit from OT, but almost none of them know what it is.  So here’s the basics of OT in hopes that it will help more spoonies get the support they need.
In this context, occupation doesn’t mean job specifically, it just means anything you do to occupy your time.  This can mean everything from brushing your teeth to doing homework to walking your dog to playing videos to sleeping, and many more.
The “elevator speech” my professor taught me is that OT helps people to do the things they need to do and want to do in their everyday life.  If you’re thinking “wow, that’s really vague”- you are correct!  To me, OT is more of a way of thinking than a specialty, and it can be applied to just about anyone in any setting, whether they have a disability or not.  This also definitely includes people with a mental illness- that’s actually where OT started and they still help there too.
There are lots of ways OTs can help their clients, and I think of them in a few general categories.  The first way is changing something about you.  This could mean helping you learn new skills or techniques, or helping to reduce/manage the symptoms that are interfering with your life.  This method often is Not the bulk of what OT does, but as long as it’s something you also want to change, it’s still helpful.  (Actually, side note, OT should be very very based on what YOU want to work on!  That’s part of what makes it unique from other medical professions.  If you don’t feel like that’s the case with your OT, please let them know!)
Examples:  Sensory regulation strategies, using massage and stretching, teaching self-advocacy skills, making wrist braces, teaching specific skills like how to take the bus or mindfulness, helping you understand how your condition works
The next way is my favorite, and that is changing the environment, instead of changing the you.  This fits nicely with the social model of disability!  The environment and equipment need to be adjusted to work better for you, and that’s exactly what OT specializes in
Examples:  Working out how to modify your bathroom to create space for a wheelchair, adjusting your desk setup to decrease pain, providing adaptive silverware, creating routines to manage your health
Another way is to change how you’re doing your “occupations'', or change the demands.  There are so many little tricks like this that might seem like common sense, but every OT I’ve met has this magical ability to find just the right thing that works for you that you never thought of before.  Or sometimes, I think it just helps to have explicit permission from someone else to do things differently.  OT is also really great for helping you figure out what accommodations you might benefit from at school or work, and then supporting you in advocating for yourself- that’s what I mean for changing the demands of what you’re doing.  You don’t have to do the same things in the same way as everyone else.
Examples:  Doing multiple small loads of laundry instead of one heavy one, gathering everything ahead of time and then sitting down while you’re cooking or working, taking stim breaks, getting accommodations for extensions and alternate assignments at school
So if you’re newly diagnosed, or having a flare, or just having a lot of trouble managing your chronic illness- OT might be really helpful.  I got referred for hand therapy and sensory support when I first got sick, and it was like finally being taught how to live my life with a chronic illness. Many doctors don’t know a ton about OT either, but if you ask for a referral to help you manage your daily life, especially chronic pain, they may say yes.
If you have questions, ask away!  I can’t give you OT advice, but I can tell you about what OT does and help you figure out how to access it.

MASSAGE THERAPY IS NOT A SEXUAL WORKER
A few days ago, my group received a post of an interview from Inside Edition stating a Massuer had his license revoked.
I have a few words to say about this report, I am furious on a multitude of levels but calling a therapist a masseuse or masseur is now considered a dirty word and calls this profession sex trafficking and prostitution or some nefarious goings-on behind closed doors.
I call a big-fat, and ladies and gents, forgive my boldness here, call it fat bullshit.
For one, they must not know enough about this profession to make that judgment. Massage has been around for over 5000 years. It has always been a noble profession. Those of us that have gone to school and learned the craft and finished with our certifications and then went on to become licensed Therapists, are medical professionals and are staunch defenders of this sister/brotherhood. We are not and it bears repeating NOT SEX WORKERS. PERIOD!!!! Get it - got it- Good.
These reporters and teh general public have no idea the work we put into and have to learn about the body. Well, let me enlighten you.
650 hours from a school.
At least 100 hours of Anatomy and Physiology with a breakdown of hours in :
Myology: 35 hours
Osteology: 15 hours
Circulatory system: 10 hours
Nervous system: 10 hours
Pathology at least 40 hours.
The massage therapy study is to comprise 250 hours. Included in this content area is a minimum of 50 hours of supervised practice. Contradistinctions, contraindications, and related touch modalities are to receive coverage.
An additional 50 hours should cover miscellaneous Board requirements. Among them are a business, professional ethics, CPR, first aid, and hydrotherapy.
Electives can account for 210 of the required hours.
And after passing, you take about a 3-hour Board test.
Note: Some states require more than 650 hours of schooling.
Listen up- there is a reason you do an intake form before you get a massage. All those questions about your health and the medicines you take. It's my/our job to know as some medications are contra-indicated and with a massage. If you have taken pain meds, and heart meds, have you had recent surgeries, or any rashes/skin irritations, are you being treated now or in the recent past for cancer. All of these are not sexual questions, these are needs to know for your health.
Relaxing massage such as the Swedish technique can lower your blood pressure. All the techniques we learn and perform on the body have a purpose, depending on the person's needs. If there is a lot of build-up of lactic acid in the muscles, deep tissue is usually needed. (For those of you that do not know- that is called a knot).
We work hard and it breaks us (physically) down more than you know. Our profession is about 10 to 15 years, if we are lucky. So, to suggest that anyone you see wants to lock you behind a door and grope you and try you on for sex, it is ridiculous for one and for another those that do - either do not have a license from that state to be a real therapist or they come in with a license under a name that should be looked into. it is the public's responsibility to know who you are going to.
If the therapist does not ask and tell you what is going to happen if this is your first visit. then you need to start questioning. However, if you feel comfortable, I will step out of the room for a moment, you undress and underNEATH the covers, please. You can leave undies on or off, again however you feel comfortable. Tell them how you start a massage and this is how you do it and if there is anything you need to ask or have me stop as in -We stop and ask the pressure level- if it is too hard or we need to go deeper. We ask certain questions of working on legs, stip buttocks if we feel it can help ease lower back pain(this is another subject to tackle) We always ask the clients/ patient for their comfort level and keep them draped within the boundaries of the rules and regulations or our state. This is not any level of sexual impropriety folks.
And for those in the peanut gallery that wants to make a big deal and report a therapist, for a specific touch or your feelings, take notice. There is also a taboo subject called arousal during a session. YEP, I said it, so sit down and learn something. IT IS HUMAN NATURE for some to experience arousal., men and women. We are trained to ignore it. It happens. Again, it's nothing sexual.
This profession has been attacked, demeaned, and put under scrutiny for far too long. It is time it ended. There is a need for a Massage Therapist, as we are medical professionals whether it's just relaxation from a stressful day/week or to move out the lactic acid causing our muscles to tighten and causing more issues. I am tired of hearing WE are the cause of this and that and the public needs protection against us- BULLPUCKEY. Where is our protection? We are subject to the whims of anyone behind those closed doors.
Sorry, for the rant

What Is Difference Between Physiotherapy And Occupational Therapy?
Tumblr media
The differences between physiotherapy (pt) and occupational therapy (OT), which both work in rehabilitation settings but focus on various parts of rehabilitation, are often misunderstood. For instance, both occupational and physical therapists strive to improve mobility, but they do so in various ways. In this case, PT entails enhancing human movement, while OT focuses on methods to help the child regain the ability to carry out daily activities.
In terms of restoring quality of life, the two professions likewise have quite different terms and circumstances. Occupational therapists concentrate more on fine motor tasks, which need them to use their hands in more intricate ways to complete, whereas physical therapists often target gross motor motions like walking.
Physiotherapy
Gross motor skills are improved by physiotherapists. These are abilities that involve the use of big body muscle groups and movement of the entire body. Physiotherapists assist a child with movement problems in carrying out daily tasks. Running, standing, walking, and upright sitting are some of these actions.
The primary objective of a physiotherapist is to address a child's particular problem. Lessening the pain, enhancing mobility, and realigning joints and bones are all part of their treatment. The patient should be able to move normally to the best of their ability when they finish their physical therapy. Physiotherapists can intervene with children via massage, exercise, and other methods.
Occupational Therapy
The objective of an occupational therapist (OT) is to assist a child in carrying out everyday tasks as independently as feasible by employing a comprehensive, all-encompassing strategy to enhance function. Consider OT intervention for children who have both short-term and long-term cognitive or developmental impairments, disabilities, injuries, or illnesses that affect functional performance.
The overall purpose of the treatment methods used by the OT profession is to improve functioning in various daily activities. OTs work on the following abilities with children:
Cognitive skills
Gross motor skills
Fine motor skills
Self-care tasks
Body awareness
Attention
Executive functioning

20. what do they hate being teased about? are they teased often?
'You think too much' is one line Kunsel hates, hates, hates to hear. Even if it's true, maybe because it's true, he loathes it to his core. He would prefer to logic his way to a solution before trying to hit it with fists or a sword (even if the conclusion is percussive maintenance).
Too often, SOLDIERs are expected to be mindless plastic army men, march march march, go forth and destroy the thing, return to base, await orders.
Imagine a world in which they were encouraged to think for themselves, think tactically, or maybe with a little emotional sensitivity, how different things would be. If you have the opportunity to learn and self-improve and challenge assumptions, why wouldn't you take it?
The culture of ignorance rankles. It's part of why he became 'the tutorial guy' - if he can help just one person figure out how to think their way out of a problem, then it's worthwhile.
27. what do they never, ever want to speak of, ever?
Kunsel would rather avoid talking about his own 'hometown' before Midgar. He was young when it was razed (as far as he knows, by bandits/mercenaries), and he grew up in the city.
The settlements around Cosmo / the Valley of the Fallen Star are built into caves with thatch/wood/fiber/stone facades, and the 'cave person' suggestion of being primitive is more than a little insulting to him and to them.
Then there are the implications of being from a place that is and has always been anti-ShinRa. He's done his best to stomp that information out of the collective memory, to deflect and laugh it off, call it into question, because the last thing he needs is for people to (again) think of him as some sort of spy or plant.
40. do they have a big family or a small family? no family?
No family that he's aware of, although there are rumors that he has more than a passing resemblance to a current/former Director of General Affairs.
Kunsel does not like the idea of his work being called into question for nepotism because he has a similar cowlick and nose shape to a seldom-seen Turk who seems to be the source of lots of daddy issues at the company. Something something, Directors should keep it in their pants.
(This was an accident of character design, a very slight resemblance to young Verdot a friend of mine in another medium pointed out. Oops?)
45. what’s their dream job / profession? do they have one?
Before he became too jaded, Kunsel dreamed of retiring from SOLDIER and becoming a kinesiologist -- basically massage, physical therapy, and tech-aided sports medicine. He loaded a bunch of tutorials and sought out opportunities to practice at gyms above and below the plate, because who better to help enhanced people recover from the rigors of war than a fellow enhanced person? And what better way to reintroduce oneself to working with non-enhanced people in a way that is supportive and positive?
Unfortunately, SOLDIERs don't retire. He knows that now.
But he's held on to the skills regardless.
