Apollo Pythius celebrates his victory through the composition of a new hymn.

Compromising with your aquatic partner

Pythius is from a long lineage of genetically modified Tiruts from a southern territory. Though he was raised away from his culture in the furthest north territory, he didn't learn what his body needed until adulthood. His partner, Akahn is more than happy to keep him company (while staying in the shallow water) their kids stayed home this day.

This pool is located on the coast near his brother's burrow. The waters temperature is most tolerable in the summer, but Pythius pushes his luck in the spring and fall months. The cold tends to relax him.

Akahn on the other hand sticks to only sitting in the water in the summer, but will sit on the beach or rocks when it's colder. Standard Tiruts are very much not equip to be in any "deep" waters.

Less dexterity in crocodragon form than his regular form...unless he's in water in either case, then he'd get a pretty big dex boost.

He's the best cook out of I think any muse I have! If I could give him a higher score in that category, I would! Same with the pacifying children category. This is a man that doesn't at all mind making himself look stupid or silly to other adults if it means that a kid is having fun with it!

He has the Trouble Rectangle on the bottom four mind category sliders like Meinyr does, which I thought was funny.

Priorities was honestly a little difficult? I think because he values most things really similarly, outside of social stuff.

EDIT: Kei said I should have added commentary about his libido score, but let's be honest here; we all know he's a horn dog. We all know that he will sleep with just about anyone for funsies. It's how he acts after the sex that's important! Does the man cook you a meal? Let you use his shower to clean up afterwards? Let you borrow a shirt/clothing from him because he ripped yours or got it dirty? Those are the important questions!

Greek God Apollo ☀️

Hello everyone! We wanted our first informative post to be about this amazing god who has lighten our paths many times during these years. So here you have a small post about him!

Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto, titan of the light of night and, later, light of day; and twin brother of Artemis.

God of light, medicine, diseases, plagues, dance, music, writing, arts, divination and prophecy, initiation, colonization, archery, youth and male beauty, among other things.

His best known places of worship were Delphi and Delos, but Apollo's cults have been all over Greece and have been very varied. Moreover, as a god of colonization, many of his cults invaded the lands of others and forced them to worship Apollo. A well-known case is that of the women who worshipped Gaia who ended up being massacred by one of the cults of Apollo, and it was this fact that gave rise to the myth of Apollo and Daphne.

Being such a popular god in both Greece and Rome, he has a multitude of myths that reflect very well his diversity and ambivalence. Let's talk about, for example, that of his birth, which can also be consulted in the Homeric Hymn III to Apollo. Here we will speak only of one of the versions, since it has several.

It all begins when Zeus got Leto pregnant. Hera, who was jealous, made it impossible for Leto to give birth anywhere both on land and in the ocean. Luckily for Leto, his sister Asteria had also been harassed by Zeus and, to escape from him, had turned herself into a floating island by the name of Ortigia. Thus, Leto found a place to rest.

However, Hera had put more obstacles in her way. She had forbidden Ilithia, goddess of childbirth, to attend the titanide, so Leto spent nine days and nine nights in agony until the other gods managed to bribe Ilithia.

First Artemis was born, who assisted her mother to help in the birth of Apollo; he was born on the seventh day of the month, hence the number usually associated with the god.

Ortigia was renamed Delos, where a temple and a statue were established in honor of Apollo. From here comes one of his epithets: Delius Apollo.

On the other hand, the serpent or dragon Python resided in Delphi, where he had an oracle. It is said that one of his prophecies spoke that it would be a son of Leto who would kill him, so he had pursued the Titan during her pregnancy and did not stop until Zeus put a stop to it.

Thus, on the fourth day of his birth, Apollo set out for Delphi with his bow and arrows in hand to avenge his mother. There he killed Python with one of his arrows, and one of his epithets is "Apollo far-shooter", and took the oracle. Other versions say that he chased the dragon to Tempe and killed him there.

Apollo established his oracle in Delphi and, in honor of Python, placed his bones in a cauldron that would serve both for the oracle and for the initiation of the Pythia. And here is born another of his epithets: Apollo Pythius.

As you can see, he is a rational and at the same time visceral god. He has his reasons for killing Python, but he still doesn't think twice and does it.

There are many more myths, such as that of Admetus and Apollo, Niobe and the children of Leto, or the well-known myths of Apollo and his lovers (which are not few), such as Daphne, Hyacinth, Cassandra, Cipariso or Coronis. I invite you to read them and learn about him.

As for his attributes, Apollo is related to the number 7, to wolves for shepherding, to mice for plagues, to laurel for his myth with Daphne or even for his myth with Python and his victory against him, to hyacinths for the myth of Hyacinth and an endless number of animals, plants and crystals such as crows, cypresses or the sunstone.

He is also characterized by his silver bow, the sun and the lyre, which he acquired from Hermes.

Apollo is the chief of the muses and nymphs, the lord of the arts in all fields, although at the beginning it was especially of dance. And, if you want to work something related to the arts, Apollo is the right god.

The arts, oratory, divination, sports, self-esteem, self-respect, anxiety, medicine (biosanitary field in general), decision making, personal growth, etc., are areas that can be worked with him.

Personally I have a very good relationship with Apolo. I have been in contact with him for a few years now and we have worked on some things together, and I can assure you that it is a pleasure to work and talk with him. I don't want to generalize, because the gods present themselves differently to each person, but he tends to be patient and very kind, as well as funny if he trusts you.

Apollo is, in my opinion, such a diverse and magnificent god that you can learn everything from him. Just don't piss him off, because his bow never misses and it hurts when he shoots an arrow.

Must have been a rough day at the office, or something. "Anyway, the point is that I've told you a few times now that you have to make an appointment if you want to get into that kind of thing. I only have so much down time, you know? I prefer to not use that time doing more work."

"At the end of the day, if a business partner doesn't respect the lines that I've laid down, then I cut them loose, simple as that. I like you, Y'qive, but not enough to let you use me like some of those other lapdogs that you have jumping at your beck and call."

"...Got that?"

"Wiggling that cute butt and thrusting those hips at the same time isn't multitasking, cutie Pypy. Expand your horizons every once in a while, both in business and the bedroom. A little kink exploration won't harm you. " As if she's not talking to Pythius, demon prince of hot sex.

Decided to do my annual Jekyll and Hyde reread and only now chose to look up the story of Damon and Pythius that Lanyon mentions. I'm in shambles.

Basically, Pythius was sentenced to death for conspiring against the tyrant king of Syracuse, and he requested to see his family one last time before his execution. Damon offered himself to take Pythius' stead as a hostage, and the king said that if Pythius did not return within a specific time, Damon would be executed instead. The king fully believed that Pythias wouldn't return and would leave Damon to die, but Pythias swam his ass to shore after he was thrown overboard by pirates to ensure he made it back to Syracuse in time. The king was so impressed by Pythias' fidelity and Damon's trust that he pardoned both of them.

Their relationship is like the Good Ending to Lanyon and Jekyll's. Even after being separated by differing scientific opinions, Lanyon continued showing an interest in Jekyll's wellbeing. He agrees to help Jekyll get the ingredients for the potion despite having no idea what it's for, only knowing his friend was in significant distress. Even with distance between them, Jekyll knows he can depend on Lanyon to help him. Pythias and Jekyll are also uncannily similar: Pythias challenged a tyrant, and Jekyll challenged God. Where Pythias/Damon and Jekyll/Lanyon differ, however, is that this implicit trust leads to Jekyll and Lanyon's downfall-- not just of their relationship, but of themselves.

I will never get over how tragic their relationship was (whether you see it as romantic or platonic). Both of them (and Utterson) loved and trusted each other so much it's sickening. I will never get over these old men who were supposed to live and die together.

"Could never keep out of trouble, could you?" Not that she is one to talk. By all accounts, he could readily call her psychopath if not for the very core of her nature. Even now, she joyfully tore through another cabinet of the bar without so much as care to keep from making a mess.

Oh well, not his problem.

"What 'trouble' are you accusing of me now?"

He wasn't the one who murdered a couple just because he wanted the damn coat of the other.

"You know exactly what I mean." Cork broken, Nadia pours another drink for them as she glimpsed back. A grin unwilling to hide itself as she leaned closer onto the edge of the counter. "I never took you as one to play his cards against the demon prince."

"Against?"

"Whatever -- either way, it's not like you to bother involving yourself with any of the other demons."

"Because I never cared." And frankly he still didn't. Hierarchy be damned. It was bad enough to have it in his former life to see it linger in more than one facet? How ridiculous. How amusing. What use is in the point of a rank lest one expected to expand on their power and break those to their will? Was that the purpose of Caesar and the gods themselves?

Kings, princes, queens, name them all and each had some hunger for power. He spent more than enough time on the battlefield shedding blood in their name and now, with his freedom in tow, what point is there in wasting with such formalities?

"Besides, someone else is the reason why we've crossed paths."

"Someone else?" Of course that would pique her interest. "Now surely that demon has quite a few acquaintances." As if she was one to talk.

"Probably," he response with another drag. "Though I'd hardly pin him like the idiots who waste their time obsessing in their quest for power." Truth be told, Harkan knew little to nothing of the demon to make such a call. After all, his title if fitting if he was wrong but eh, it wasn't his business.

Not unless it involved her.

"Maybe that's why it doesn't bug me as much to chat him once in a while."

Diving Brunt Bird

The brunt bird is a predatory seabird, very rarely kept as pets. Fran was gifted a hatchling when he was young and has raised it since.

For enrichment for the bird and practice for his brother, Fran will take the bird to dive while Pythius attempts to evade the attacks. Though it's not always this practice, sometimes the three of them will just dive together. It's also a way Fran can bond with his brother via the water despite not being able to be in the water long without the help of the bird.

"Why thank you, my dear Morgan. I have to convince people to come down here somehow, don't I?" The Demon Prince laughs, bringing Morgan's hand to his lips to press a kiss to the back. "And don't worry; I'm sure if you're going to be here until Azrael and San pry themselves apart, I have plenty of time to see one of those radiant blushes of yours-- it'll be more than worth both the effort spent, and the wait. Or is your mate coming to get you soon?"

No Sympathies Old Demon Concept Art Dump Part 7: Yet More Demons

By request, I am posting the demon concept art I made for what would eventually become my first novel, No Sympathies. It's art that's over a decade old at this point and kind of hard for me to look at without thinking about its myriad flaws - I'd rework most if not all of these designs now, and even back then I kinda felt like I got a lot better at designing demons towards the end of the batch than I was at the beginning, which made me want to redo the whole project again. Someday I might, too, though probably only as a series of pencil sketches.
