What the Fuck is an IFAK?

And why you need one

IFAK stands for Individual First Aid Kit. It’s a kit that’s small enough to be carried easily on a chest rig or other easily-accessible location, at all times. Its purpose is mainly to treat traumatic gunshot wounds or other hemorrhagic injuries that will result in death very quickly. The point is to be able to keep the patient alive until help arrives. EMS wait times can be super long and they’re only getting worse as the United States Healthcare System is collapsing in real time around us.

What you NEED:

COMBAT APPLICATION TOURNIQUET (C-A-T)  (DO NOT BUY FROM AMAZON)  At least 1, ideally 2.  The more the better.  combattourniquet.com -  Do not practice with the one you keep in your kit, get an extra if you need to practice using one.  They are meant for one time use.

Hemostatic Gauze (QuikClot or CELOX - NOT POWDER)

Regular Gauze.  More than you think.  Z-fold in a sealed plastic package is ideal.  North American Rescue sells packets of this that are perfect.

Rolled gauze, cloth medical tape, or vet wrap. OR Israeli bandages

Sharpie

Mylar Space Blanket(s)

Chest Seals, several

Nitrile gloves - Blue is ideal, Black looks cooler but is NOT GOOD for doing blood sweeps on trauma patients

Narcan spray (Find a local source at Next Distro)

Additional PPE - N95 masks, cpr masks, face shields, trauma gowns

No one is coming to save us. Not in any timely manner at least.  We need IFAKs to save ourselves until EMS can get to us. If they come at all.

Shootings like Pulse and Club Q are escalating. Your favorite gay bar, your pride parade, even your grocery store could become a target for far-right terrorists at any time. With an IFAK you at least have a chance to not watch your friends die in front of you when it happens.

Pre-Made IFAKS:

A good option for most people is to purchase a pre-made IFAK. Here are a few good options:

“But Trash, I really can’t drop that much money on an IFAK!”

Okay sorry.  I should know better, I was homeless and semi-homeless for more time than I care to admit when I was young and sure as hell didn’t have money for medical shit.  In that case, contact IFAK Fund and ask them to send you a FREE IFAK.  However, they are donation-based and can only send people IFAKs if people donate money, so it may take months to get one.

If you can afford your IFAK and can afford to throw IFAK Fund ANY money, please please please do.  They are doing some of the most important work in leftist organizing right now.

Remember, no one is coming to save us.  We have to save ourselves.  Only we can take care of each other.

Right, so c!Slimecicle in the DSMP Blade System AU.

I mentioned before, he is a lightning-element defense-type Blade. His Soul Weapon is a sword and his core crystal is green. He is more of the debuff-into-oblivion type of defense than tanky.

In this AU, Slime gets his appearance from his first Driver, who was a slime hybrid Player. Slime and his first Driver were around and exploring when the universe was new and DreamXD and his Aegis Blade, Reverie, were creating the server. They took part in Reverie's experiments, which ended up with a successful Memory Patch being applied to Slime. He remembers each life.

Slime's first Driver died before the Entity became a Problem. Slime's core crystal ended up in the resting area where c!Quackity eventually found it.

I mentioned before that sometimes mobs can be aether-sensitive as well? So, occasionally, an aether-sensitive slime mob would form and temporarily reAwaken Slimecicle. This is how Slimecicle has his past period memories/the "spying" on the server. Quackity found Slime in a period between slime mob Drivers and became Slime's new Driver.

Slime's abilities:

As a lightning Blade, Slime's passive ability is that he can process things faster than other Blades (in essence, his core crystal has more RAM).

For active abilities, he has "Channeling," with the exception that he can use it with any weapon and not just tridents.

He has the ability to turn any type of potion into a Splash potion (without needing the gunpowder for crafting) by adding a bit of electric charge before he throws it.

Static Shock - touch-range ability that applies Weakness II and Slowness II to the target.

I don't know much about QSMP, but I understand the fact that q!Slimecicle having Sweeping Edge was a Big Deal (for lore-related reasons), so he gets that here as well.

For an older Blade with above-average power, Slime does not have much in the way of combat abilities. His first Driver was not very combat focused, and slime mobs can't use swords or want to use spells, so he doesn't have much practice with either magic or weapons. He's good on social observation, but not so much social skills.

Slime and Quackity's relationship is pretty much the same as in canon. Slime gives Quackity power (information, status, and martial power) and Quackity teaches Slime about how to be a person. Even though Slime did have a Player for a Driver once, it was a long time ago and things have changed since.

As part of his passive allowing him to process things more quickly, Slime is very adept in noticing when things around him are going wrong--he's just not very good about figuring out and then applying a solution to them. He's also not quite sure when something would be considered "weird" or not, and oftentimes accidentally misleads people because he's being literal about the questions they're asking, but also applying his own definitions to the questions they're asking.

For example, c!Karl and c!Sapnap ending up as part of Las Nevadas does not stop DreamXD from taking Karl for Tales of the SMP/time travel nonsense, though he does get better at putting Karl back in the timeline shortly after he left.

So as far as the other characters are concerned, Karl will occasionally wander off, have an "episode" and come back 1 - 3 hours later with his memory worse than before. It gets to the point where Quackity assigns Slime to follow Karl and make sure he's okay.

Karl has a trip while Slime is watching him. Quackity asks Slime in the aftermath if he noticed anything unusual with Karl that day. Slime, who thinks that being pulled aside by the local god and/or his Aegis Blade is perfectly normal (it happened to him and his first Driver a bunch!) says that nothing unusual happened, even though he watched DreamXD take Karl away and bring him back. Quackity does not ask any follow-up questions, so this misunderstanding does not get brought to light or clarified.

tbh most of c!quackity’s manipulation tatics are DIRECTLY related to schlatt, and how schlatt treated him. doesn’t excuse it, but i think his manipulation is way more trauma based than a lot of people let on.

YES YES exactly!! he pushed down and ignored his trauma for SO LONG that now when he’s starting to react to it, it’s coming up as violent and unhealthy. what he’s doing is bad, but that’s the point of his character. He’s lost every single support system in his life and now he’s given up on trying to be good and the only way he knows how to get people to listen to him is through the tactics of the man who had power!

what schlatt screwed up was how he pushed people away, leaving him alone. but right now quackity is already alone. cant lose what you dont have! so if he applies schlatt’s tactics, perhaps this time they’ll work!
