I really wanted to add someone from Svsss but their designs are too different or it isn’t plain white😭😭😭 so I just did Shen Qiao and Chu Wanning with Xie Lian and Lan Wangji. I mean…it worked so I’m not complaining🤷‍♀️
I forgot how fun it is to draw Shen qiao tho- maybe I’ll draw him more often

DRAMA REVIEW | The Love Equations (2020)
I started watching The Love Equations because I remembered all the good comments about it. The first few episodes were nice and I was excited for a cute drama. Now I understand they were probably because this drama it's probably how they discovered Gong Jun.
Luckily, I have seen him in Begin Again -a drama from the same year as this one- and other more recent projects, which is why I can say he delivers a good performance, perhaps the strongest in the entire drama, but the story is no good and the chemistry is simply not there.
The story overall is filled with scenes and plotlines poorly developed, particularly when we are dealing with subjects such as mental health. I understand this is a character driven drama but when I tell you there's nothing interesting about it, I mean it.

SV fic where Shen Yuan transmigrates into the former sect leader, Yue Qingyuan's shizun, right before Yue Qi shows up at the selection trials.
Shen Yuan is not sure why he's in one of his all-time hate-reads, let alone why he's gone so far back before the story actually begins (his system appears to be malfunctioning? something about an error and emergency backup...?), but he's making the most of it. This despite the fact that being a sect leader is a much more prestigious and political role than he likes.
But Shen Yuan is, at heart, actually a pretty good teacher, and he's spent enough time witnessing administrative work secondhand that he can competently tackle most of his duties. Whatever he can't handle, luckily there are other masters on Qiong Ding who always seem eager to curry favor by volunteering at the least hint that they should. Apparently his predecessor was known for being kind of cold-blooded and ruthless. (Shen Yuan gets checked for possession and it's concluded behind his back that he most have lost some of his memories, again, but also everyone kinda prefers this version anyway, again.)
But, so, he picks Yue Qi at the trials without even realizing at first who he's selecting, but just because that kid seems really determined to get in and clearly has been through it. Reminds him of Luo Binghe. Even when he puts it all together, all he feels mostly is kind of bad about it? He never thought Yue Qingyuan was sufficiently villainous to merit his end, even though he didn't blame Binghe for it either. He was always a mystery, an apparently kind person who nevertheless had some inexplicable fondness for the scum villain, turned a blind eye towards his abuses, and got dragged down with him. Shen Yuan feels even worse when he actually gets to know his solemn, smiling, secretive little disciple.
Yue Qi is very determined to advance, and as quickly as possible. Shen Yuan admonishes him. Obviously this kid has a protagonist-like aura and a similar drive to get places quickly, but you can't speedrun your disciple era, Mr. Future Sect Leader! There's no montage mode! Most of his attempts at intervening meet a brick wall that is Yue Qi's impenetrable smile and polite deference if he even hints at displeasure (this kid's gonna make a great politician one day), but Shen Yuan changes tactics and starts manufacturing excuses for breaks, taking Yue Qi on him with trips off the mountain and finding reasons to stop at local festivals and hot springs and etc. He can tell something's off with the quality of frustration that his disciple sometimes expresses, with how there's fear to it, but he's at a loss for the cause and it's difficult to get Yue Qi to talk. Despite appearances, he's actually very distrustful of adults.
When Yue Qi asks to claim his sword early, Shen Yuan says no. He remember how reputedly powerful Xuan Su was, and his disciple definitely needs a stronger base if he's going to pull a sword of that caliber. But he suspects this won't go over well, and when he catches Yue Qi sneaking off to Wan Jian Peak on his own, his disciple finally breaks down and admits that he needs to get strong in order to save his most important person.
Shen Yuan is moved. The way Yue Qi speaks, he's certain this person is a young maiden whom his student has fallen in love with. Truly, the sect leader was so very similar to Luo Binghe at heart! He must have failed in the original story, and that contributed to his difficulties and sorrows later on. Of course Shen Yuan will help him rescue his sweetheart!
Even if his sweetheart is... surprisingly butch? And is a slave owned by the Qiu family, and, wait a second, that name is kind of familiar... oh.
Oh dear.
Shen Yuan is internally screaming even as he helps buy Xiao Jiu out of bondage, even as he gives Yue Qi money to get his newly rescued friend all cleaned up and suitably dressed for the trip back to Cang Qiong, even as he buys the boys tanghulu for a treat, even as the System cheerfully informs him that his new quest is to get Xiao Jiu accepted onto Qing Jing Peak, even as Yue Qi tears up for the first time when he thanks him for helping.
He can only get to sleep that night by consoling himself with the knowledge that his generation is going to retire well before Luo Binghe and The Plot actually show up.
The System: (〜 ̄▽ ̄)〜
5 Years Later:
Huan Hua Palace Master: Sect Leader, we need your help! A terrible Heavenly Demon has come to threaten the whole of human society!
Shen Yuan: That's not possible. He isn't even born yet.
HHP Master: What?
Shen Yuan: What?

Yue Qingyuan Fix It Speed Run
After the event of Bingge vs. Bingmei, Yue Qingyuan comes up to ask Luo Binghe.
"So you say Xin Mo can bring you to another universe, at another point of time, where there are the same people as in this universe?"
Luo Binghe nods.
"Do you want to help your shizun in the other universes?"
And so start the rescue team of Yue Qingyuan, Luo Binghe, and Shen Yuan to rescue Xiao Jiu, and by extension, Yue Qi.
If Xiao Jiu and Yue Qi are still slave children, both are bought, freed... Or kidnapped. And brought back to Cang Qiong in Yue Qingyuan's universe where his universe's Shen Qingqiu settles them down.
If Xiao Jiu is already in the Qiu Household, Yue Qingyuan either buys, lies about Xiao Jiu needing to go with him for some reasons. Or just kidnaps him.
After a few universes, Yue Qingyuan realises kidnapping is the easiest and most reliable way so he sticks to it.
If Yue Qi is locked in the Lingxi Cave, Yue Qingyuan kidnaps Yue Qi. It's not like people outside come to check if Yue Qi is still in there that often, and they don't have high hope he would survive anyway. His shizun also has all the other future sect leader candidates left.
If Yue Qi is already out of the cave, he kidnaps takes Yue Qi to meet the many Xiao Jiu back in Qiong Ding in his universe.
If Xiao Jiu is with Wu Yanzi, he kills Wu Yanzi and kidnaps rescues Xiao Jiu to Mu Qingfang in his universe to fix his meridians and feed treasures generously provided by Xiao Jiu's future disciple and Demon Emperor.
If both are already in Cang Qiong... He does not quite know what to do, so he stalks observes Xiao Jiu for a bit in case Xiao Jiu needs anything.
Xiao Jiu, always is annoyed at his lurking at the edge of Xiao Jiu's vision, always says his demand is the answer why Yue Qi did not come back to save him. As he already sets his mind to provide what any Xiao Jiu needs no matter what, he helplessly confesses he did come back but was too late and was too much of a self loathing coward to tell the truth.
Finally, after this long, it is clear to Yue Qingyuan that what all Shen Qingqiu in all the universes need is the reason why he did not come back, so he sets out to tell every Shen Qingqiu that.
Sometimes, in some universe, Xiao Jiu, Yue Qi, or both already died, so he makes a proper grave or two, and moves on.
...
If Xiao Jiu is in the Water Prison, he kidnaps him.
If Xiao Jiu is in the Water Prison and already lost a limb, he cries... And kidnaps and drops Xiao Jiu to Mu Qingfang.
If Yue Qingyuan also sees a pile of broken Xuan Su shards next to the limbless Xiao Jiu, he brings those back too.
Soon, both the Qiong Ding Peak and the Qing Jing Peak are full of Xiao Jiu and Yue Qi of various ages. Yue Qingyuan is thinking of creating a thirteenth peak exclusively just for them to live in.
Almost all of the older Xiao Jiu are afraid of Luo Binghe though, so Yue Qingyuan bans Luo Binghe from meeting those Xiao Jiu. It is also another reason why Luo Binghe's duty is limited to opening and closing the portals, aside from the presence of Xin Mo being too glaringly demonic and would complicating the rescues.
Luo Binghe is heartbroken, but he can still play with the other younger Xiao Jiu and his own husband shizun.
...
This morning, Wei Qingwei sees his sect leader drops off another pile of Xuan Su shards. Wan Jian now has a concerning amount of broken Xuan Su. Wei Qingwei should reforge or do something about this many and this powerful swords, right?
"Zhangmen shixiong, really, how many spare Xuan Su swords do you need?!"
The Qian Cao Peak is also packed with so many younger versions of his sect leader with different stages of broken bones, torn tendons, and frayed meridians; and even worse, so many more younger versions of Shen Qingqiu whose injuries range from malnutrition, open wounds, crippled meridians, to limblessness and dying... Hissing and biting him when he approaches to examine or treat...
At least none is contracted Without a Cure...
Is it only his universe's shixiong that's careless when fighting the demons??
From the sect leader's face though, Yue shixiong expects nothing less than the state of completely reattached or regrown limbs, eyes, and tongue. Mu Qingfang surely has to extensively expand and deepen his knowledge about the reconstruction medicine.
Luckily Shen shixiong and Shang shixiong are knowledgeable about many plants, beasts, and treasures that resolve the issues, and Luo shizi easily fetch them from the Demon Realm.
Mu Qingfang now can even cure all the crippled victims of the Sower incidence back then. However, with the number of his current patients... Mu Qingfang sighs.
"Zhangmen shixiong, please slow down on your kidnapping rescuing!!"
===
Meanwhile, after Luo Bingge goes back to his own universe,
LBG: I want my own kind shizun. I'll find him in another universe. (:
LBG: *slashes to a random universe*
LBG: What? You say Shen Qingqiu was abducted?
LBG: *combs through that whole universe but cannot find shizun*
LBG: It's okay. There'll be another shizun in another universe. (:
LBG: *slashes to another universe*
LBG: ...
LBG: There's no Shen Qingqiu nor Shen Jiu in this universe either?
LBG: ...
LBG: *combs through the whole other universe and cannot find shizun again and again*
LBG: ...
LBG: Who is hoarding all my shizun?!?! D:<
...
LBG: *slashes back to the SVSSS universe*
LBG: I found a peak full of shizun here!
SJ et al: *already set up the heaviest and most complex wards against LBH as soon as they're discharged from MQF*
LBG: ...But I can't enter! ):<
SJ et al: *sneer*

Yue Qi isn't quite allowed to draw his spiritual sword, but he's not explicitly NOT allowed, so he plans to sneak to Wan Jian Peak after hours and get his sword so he can save xiao-Jiu.
Only, as soon as he sets foot on the rainbow bridge, he runs into some shidi from An Ding having a crisis in the middle of the night. He helps.
It's several days before he has enough of a lull in his duties that he feels well-rested enough to make the attempt again. He needs the strongest sword possible to save xiao-Jiu.
Upon reaching Wan Jian Peak, he discovers there was an explosion just as the disciples were cleaning up for the night and now it's like an agitated ant hill. Yue Qi sighs and helps.
Sadly the fallout and paperwork and prospective safety measures take up an entire month. Yes, his cultivation is improving, but he needs to leave NOW.
His next attempt is thwarted by an entire crowd of disciples, a mix of bai zhan and xian shu. They're fighting because...? Someone said someone else said they were weak? Uncultured? Yue Qi might have expected the blow out with ku xing and that would have resulted in less property damage.
He pushed back another month, but at least that one shidi from An Ding brings him some nice trees and a fruit as thanks for his earlier help. Yue Qi can't put a name to the fruit, even as he eats it, but he dares not ask anyone and reveal his ignorance.
The next night, invigorated by the kindness and the gifts, Yue Qi finally, FINALLY makes it to the sword wall and claims the Xuan Su sword.
He wakes two days later on Qian Cao from the resulting qi deviation. His master visits. He is equal parts disappointed and pleased that he snuck out by managed to claim such a worthy sword
The moment he's gone, Yue Qi climbs out of the window and returns to his quarters. After changing and grabbing his go-bag he teaches himself how to fly on the sword while hurtling toward xiao-Jiu.
His bag has more money in it than he remembered saving, but Qiu Jianluo isn't willing to sell xiao-Jiu anyway
That's alright. No one knows Yue Qi is there and when there are no survivors, no one ever will. He leaves xiao-Jiu at the base of the mountain with his go bag and all of the money so he can approach the sect after enough time has passed to allay and possible suspicions regarding the fire at the Qiu manor.
Yue Qi presents his shishu with a letter from his good friend Shen Jiu and requests that shishu please evaluate him for cultivation potential.
Yue Qi suspects that his shishu knows every rotten detail of the situation, but he only smiles and agrees to a meeting. Before Yue Qi leaves, his shishu says, "You know, I hear disciple Shang was made head disciple of An Ding. It would serve you well to have a good relationship."
.
.
Disciple Shang is the nervous shidi. Yue Qi truly believes shishu knows everything.

Hiii i just read the 2ha meta about cwn and the haitang and i had a question for you if its not a bother: would haitang and begonias (秋海棠) be related in general symbolism (?). I mean yes the names are kinda the same in chinese but internet tells me they are different plants so idk how much of automatic relation the two plants have or not in the mind of people if you get what i mean (??). Anyways this is bc i have been haunted by begonia symbolism in chinese media ever since reading the dream of the red chamber and i keep finding them everywhere (usually i interpret them as being harbingers of doom somehow but uhmmm i may be wrong ahahah)
Hi! :) Yes haitang and begonias are related in symbolism and they're very easy to confuse in Chinese (and it doesn't help that Dream of the Red Chamber features both haitang and begonias). For people who don't read Chinese, begonia in Chinese is qiu haitang which means "autumn haitang," because begonias bloom in early autumn. Begonia and haitang both symbolise tragic love and heartbreak, and personally I feel that begonia's Chinese name, "autumn haitang," evokes a greater sense of sadness because autumn in classical Chinese literature has always implied meloncholy, loneliness, sorrow, lamentations about the fading of seasons and life, etc.
It's probably Dream of Red Chamber's fault that begonia gets associated with foreshadowings of tragedy and doom...Another example of begonia symbolising tragic love is in the case of Lu You and Tang Wan, a pair of famous lovers in Chinese literary history who're made for each other but not meant to be (their love story is mentioned in this wiki page about Lu You; and the heartbreaking poem that Lu You wrote for Tang Wan, which every Chinese kid grows up reading, is translated here). Legend has it that Lu You gave Tang Wan a pot of begonia before their seperation and Tang Wan called it 断肠花 (heartbreak flower).

stop writing shen jiu as a tsundere teacher who hid his kindness bc he's not!!! He's not chu wanning he's a bitter man he was traumatized left alone and thought he was abandoned, by the time he arrived at cang qiong he has broken ugly and he never let himself pickup the pieces let alone anyone else he never could expressed his vulnerability to anyone bc the last time he did that he was left behind!!! There's a reason why he's so vicious to luo binghe, he has everything shen jiu doesn't; a loving mother, a good foundation and a good childhood!!! He has nothing, he was an orphan, a slave, a runaway one too, one with faulty foundation that could have bloomed flourishly if he hadn't been under qiu jianluo's ownership or wu yanzi's tetulage. Yes, he brought the miseries that happened later onto himself but you have to understand WHY he did all that is bc he's a broken man that couldn't and wouldn't reach out to anyone ever.

I Read You Three Thousand Times
Lyrics:
wǒ xiè hòu yī dào tí
我邂逅一道题,
ruò yào nǐ gè bǐ yù
若要拟个比喻 ,
shì tiān yá biān de xuě wèi rǎn ní
是天涯边的雪未染泥 ,
huò wèi jiàn hóng chén de yī piàn yún
或未溅红尘的一片云 ,
nǐ shì wǒ yī dào tí yī cháng yóu xì
你是我一道题 一场游戏 ,
wǒ shí nǐ dú nǐ
我识你,读你 ,
xiǎng zhān rǎn le nǐ
想沾染了你 。
rèn fēng jiàn xuè rú hé hái wú xiá gān jìng
刃锋见血如何还无瑕干净?
lèi tǎng guò xīn zěn huì bù lào gè bā yìn
泪淌过心怎会不烙个疤印 ?
dú bù dǒng nǐ
读不懂你,
dú bù dǒng nà xuè kǒu liáo yá de è yì
读不懂那血口獠牙的恶意,
zěn wèi tūn shì nǐ huái zhōng wēn róu tiān dì
怎未吞噬你怀中温柔天地?
nǐ bù shì xuě yě bù xiàng yún
你不似雪也不像云,
huò xǔ shì yuè sè yī yú
或许是月色一隅
wàn shì chén gòu yě bù néng rǎn nǐ
万世尘垢也不能染你。
nǐ shì bù jiě de mí
你是不解的谜,
wǒ dú sān qiān biàn nǐ
我读三千遍你,
měi yī biàn wǒ dōu gēng jiā zháo mí
每一遍我都更加着迷 。
ruò hèn tián mǎn wǒ gǔ xuè féng xì
若恨填满我 骨血缝隙,
zhī yào hái yú fēn cùn liáng bó ài yì
只要还余分寸凉薄爱意,
dōu yòng lái dú nǐ
都用来读你 ,
dú sān qiān biàn nǐ
读三千遍你 。
míng zhī dào jiě bù kāi zhè yī dào mí tí
明知道解不开这一道谜题,
wǒ què hái rěn bù zhù dú sān qiān biàn nǐ
我却还忍不住读三千遍你 ,
dú bù dǒng nǐ
读不懂你,
dú bù dǒng nà xuè kǒu liáo yá de è yì
读不懂那血口獠牙的恶意,
zěn wèi tūn shì nǐ huái zhōng wēn róu tiān dì
怎未吞噬你怀中温柔天地?
nǐ bù shì xuě yě bù xiàng yún
你不似雪也不像云,

或许是月色一隅
wàn shì chén gòu yě bù néng rǎn nǐ
万世尘垢也不能染你。
jiě tuō wú qī
解脱无期。
nǐ duì cǎo mù rén jiān shì nà me duō qíng
你对草木人间是那么多情 ,
suǒ yǐ xiàng fēng huā xuě yuè nán fēn cùn xǔ
所以向风花雪月难分寸许。
kě wǒ jì rán chén mí yú nǐ
可我既然沉迷于你 ,
biàn shǒu nǐ wēn róu tiān dì
便守你温柔天地 ,
yě shǒu zhè fēn gěi wǒ de wú qíng
也守着分给我的无情。
wǒ dì sān qiān biàn dú nǐ
我第三千遍读你 ,
hū rán dú dào nǐ yī jù zhōng qíng
忽然读到你一句钟情。

English Translation
Why do you keep looking at me?
…Because you are beautiful.
I came across a question; If I were to draw it in a metaphor,
It’s how the snow remained unstained by dirts on the edge of the sky; or how a cloud remained untainted by red dust.[1]
You are my question and you are a game to me;
I have known you, I have read you,
and I want to taint you. How can the blade remain flawless and clean even after being bathed with blood?
How can tears flow through the heart without leaving a scar?
I can’t interpret you; I can’t understand how the malicious intent of those blood-mouthed fangs [2] have yet to swallow the gentle world there being held in your arms?
You are neither like the snow, nor like the clouds; Perhaps you’re like a glimpse of the moonlight, that can’t be dyed even by eternal impurities in the world.
You are an unsolvable mystery;
I have read you three thousand times, with each and every time I do, I get even more fascinated; Even if hate deeply seeps into my bones and flesh.
As long as I still have this bit of coolness and love,
all that I used to read you, to read you for three thousand times.
I’m aware I can’t solve this puzzle, yet still I can’t help but to read you for three thousand more times!
I can’t interpret you; I can’t understand how the malicious intent of those blood-mouthed fangs have yet to swallow the gentle world there being held in your arms?
You are neither like the snow, nor like the clouds; Perhaps you’re like a glimpse of the moonlight, that can’t be dyed even by eternal impurities in the world.
There is no end to liberation, [3] You give affectionate tenderness for the humanity, even to grass and trees;
The passion that I cannot differentiate from fruitless love like that of the wind, the flowers, the snow, and the moon. [4]
Yet now because I have become addicted to you, [5] I will guard your gentle world,
And I will protect even every relentless part that you give me.
For the three thousandth times I have read you, I suddenly pause, and fall in love with your very first sentence.
——————————————
*Translator's Notes:
[1] Red dust means the mundane world.
[2] refers to the endless people trying to gain advantage of Shen Qiao
[3] can also mean “being eternally free”
[4] all these four things being said respectively one after another in one sentence.
[5] can also mean absorbed in you
Notes: The english official fifth volume cover is sooo beautiful! <3 Take a look and see how they both look so happy together, I can imagine them so much from this song too, it depicts everything 🥰💖

Role reversal, but the non-sexual kind. I think it's too shallow to only consider reversing positions. Or maybe I just don't want to write smut ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It'll be Yue Qingyuan/Shen Jiu. The reversal is with who escapes the Qiu Manor. So, in this case, Shen Jiu is the one who leaves to become a cultivator while Yue Qingyuan stays back and waits.
This feels really ambitious, honestly, so I might just keep most of the events summarized. If I feel motivated later, I'll try to flesh it out more. I just think it would be interesting to see how things would change.
It'll start with their different perspectives, so Shen Jiu in Cang Qiong and Yue Qi at the Qiu Manor.
Shen Jiu finds himself rising in the ranks rather quickly. It was partly because of his natural abilities, but also because he was desperate to get stronger so he could save Yue Qi. The other Qing Jing disciples didn't really like him since when he arrived, he was dirty and obviously not a noble. He was hated further due to his natural abilities and talents.
His Shizun was impressed and showed him favor which made the others more resentful. Despite how his fellow disciples felt, they also could not argue that Shen Jiu was the best among them. Also, Shen Jiu's reputation was much more neutral to positive on the other peaks. Most felt pity for him since they saw the way he was ostracized for his past.
Shen Jiu also minded how he treated others since, as he learned from the streets, it was better to keep a good relationship in order to avoid issues. He would make himself look pitiful to garner support and sympathy.
Mostly, he was known for being studious and hard-working, a prodigy who reached the last stage of qi condensation within a year and was already at the early stage of core formation. At the rate he was going, he would be able to reach late stage by the time he turned 16.
Shen Jiu wasn't satisfied, though. He worked hard because his Shizun said he would only allow Shen Jiu to go after Yue Qi when he could pull a sword from Wan Jian Peak.
It was 2 years later that Shen Jiu pulled Xiu Ya. He didn't care for the prestige and awe of grabbing such a powerful sword. The first thing he did was leave the sect to find Yue Qi.
On Yue Qi's side, he suffered in the Qiu Manor, but not as bad as the others. He was older so he was in charge of heavy tasks such as collecting water or moving items. While the master enjoyed torturing the staff, he was able to keep a low profile. Mostly, he avoided the young mistress.
Every night, he thought about Shen Jiu. He was glad that Shen Jiu wasn't there, that he didn't have to suffer. Even more, he thought that Shen Jiu was such a beautiful child. No doubt, if he was here, the young master would definitely have his interest caught.
He had tried to be kind, but he learned early on that kindness was not something valued but rather a trait to be exploited. He had been betrayed many times already. It made him think of Shen Jiu who is always by his side. He thinks about all those times Shen Jiu would do things for him, and he misses him terribly.
One day, Yue Qi was going to collect water from the river when he heard a call of his name. He turned around and the metal made a low thumping noise as the bucket fell from his hand.
Shen Jiu looked like a dream, dressed in impressive-looking robes and beautiful and there.
Their reunion was filled with emotion. They had so much to say to each other, but more than that, they just wanted to be in each other's arms.
Shen Jiu asked about Yue Qi's treatment, and not wanting Shen Jiu to worry, he made sure to omit most of the information. Shen Jiu didn't believe him but chose to drop the issue. They decide to just leave, to run away. Shen Jiu claimed that Yue Qi was just one slave among many. They would plant a corpse for someone to find, and the slave Yue Qi would leave people's minds within a few days.
Shen Jiu brought Yue Qi to Cang Qiong and begged for his discipleship. Though Yue Qi was a bit older than the ideal age, there was potential in him. The sect leader himself took an interest.
Yue Qi was busy with studying and training, but he had Shen Jiu to help him. Many were jealous of him for monopolizing Shen Jiu's attention. After Yue Qi arrived, Shen Jiu seemed to bloom. While he was still harsh and sarcastic, he was more mellow and smiled more. Never mind that those smiles were mainly directed at Yue QI.
Yue Qi on the other hand was also feeling possessive. He was used to being the only one in Shen Jiu's eye, but suddenly Shen Jiu was popular and had friends (amicable acquaintances). While he is kind towards others, he does so guardedly and disingenuously.
Add: various relationships with other characters, development of rumors, a lot of manipulation, etc.
Yeah, okay, that's enough rambling. I want to add more, but I feel like I won't stop. I think it's fine to end it here for now. The fic will most likely end just with the reunion.
