🦋 @remnantspod (20) I was warned that this episode would break my heart but did I heed that warning as I listened on my walk through the city centre? No. Did I pay the socially embarrassing price for that hubris? Maybe!! Pushing down the trauma of that remnant leads to some qs from me (please share if you have thoughts!!). We know that Stephen Grenville was just one of many names that the keystone character was using - do we know if the man in this remnant was the ‘original’ one or a ‘fake’ SG? I’m thinking about what he said about Celine’s paintings and her being unable to stop her own style peeking through, I didn’t catch a flash of the Perry/Stephen/Apprentice in this man. I feel like it would add such an interesting layer if the murderer we know about was stealing identities from nasty people. But maybe that's wishful thinking! Does it make the murdering better if there's a good reason?? Idk! No? I might need to dedicate myself to a relisten sometime soon!

🌵 @desertskiespodcast (1-4) I have been putting off listening to Desert Skies for too long because I knew it would make me emotional. Until Leon @tellnotalespod very correctly told me that a few tears are so worth it for the rest of the experience of listening to the show. Hi there! Long time follower and HUGE reader to your amazing series "cosmic oddities" and I wanted to know a few things if you're alright with answering some questions. Have you been watching the second season of "The Last Of Us" recently and if so then what do you think of the season so far? If not then do you plan on watching the season when you get a chance to do so? Also has the season helped with your writing and if so then can we be expecting a new story to be added in the "cosmic oddities" anytime soon? I've been rereading the series nonstop since the second season came out so I've been trying to keep myself occupied until the newest installment comes out. I'm not trying to rush or pressure you to post anything, I've honestly just missed reading about Din and Grogu visiting Jackson and now we've got Ellie and Joel traveling in space with them trying to find a cure for the fungal infection without having to resort in opening Ellie's head but it's been nice watching them visit Mandalore and see what it's been like for Din growing up in their world. Please don't feel like you're obligated to post any new material anytime soon, just wanted to check in on you and see how you've been doing. You're an amazing writer with incredible talent and I hope to read more from you soon. Keep up the good work, you're awesome!

Di antara hal ternekat dan terberani yang kemarin dilakukan di 2023 adalah saat aku memberanikan diri meng-apply peluang pendanaan penelitian WCP-Like (World Class Professor) dari ITS yang dananya bersumber dari LPDP.

Ada dua skema yang ditawarkan, yaitu Inbound Research Mobility (IRM), di mana kita mengundang professor dari salah satu top 100 University rank by subject dari luar negeri. Serta Outbound Research Mobility, yaitu kita datang ke salah satu top 100 QS rank university. Tujuannya adalah kolaborasi riset yang outputnya adalah menghasilkan manuscript dengan minimal Q2. Bukan main nekatnya, padahal track record publikasi Scopus masih 0 😂, bahkan submit artikel di jurnal scopus saja pada waktu itu belum pernah 🫥.

Tapi dasar saya memang nekat, bahkan sangat nekat. Sistem seleksi yang waktu itu First Come First Serve membuat saya nekat bahkan mendaftar dua duanya. Saat saya juga nekat mencoba menghubungi dua orang professor, dan waktu itu dikejar deadline juga. Dan saat pengumuman yang menerima dana WCP mungkin saya satu di antara salah dua atau bahkan satu satunya yang masih kualifikasinya S2. Sementara yang lain sudah doktor bahkan professor. Benar-benar nekat!

Satu orang professor utk skema IRM berasal dari Cooenhagen Business School Denmark. Lika liku saat mendekati beliau menjadi SPV PhD bahkan sejak tahun 2021, yang akhirnya kandas karena univ nya tidak approove, siapa sangka ternyata justru mendapat kesempatan menimba ilmu dari beliau melalui cara lain di 2023 kemarin.

Beliau adalah chief editor dari IJLM, salah satu top jurnal Q1 di area SCM dari Emerald.

Sementara utk ORM saya memberanikan diri utk mengemail waktu itu untuk kali pertama, Professor dari University of Malaya, Malaysia. Kalau kita mencari nama beliau sebagai scholar di SCM, beliau mungkin masuk top 3% dunia. Tanpa disangka beliau sangat fast response dan mau menerima saya utk datang ke Malaysia.

Hingga akhirnya tibalah hari di mana beliau datang dari Denmark, and unexpectedly beliau sangat humble dan helpful dalam membimbing saya yang masih benar benar newbie ini terkait dengan riset...(1)

Perluas syukurmu, bahwa rezeki tak hanya tentang materi. Hadirkanlah perasaan cukup atas segala nikmat yang telah diberi. Semoga keberkahan selalu menyertai.

Katanya, banyak anak banyak rezeki. Nyatanya, bertambahnya anggota keluarga bertambah pula pengeluaran setiap bulannya. Eits, apakah benar begitu? Apakah keadaanmu juga begitu?

Banyak anak banyak rezeki jika didefinisikan dengan benar sesuai kalimat tersebut adalah

Pertama, setiap manusia yang hidup di muka bumi pasti memiliki jatah rezekinya masing-masing sehingga sebenarnya tidak perlu khawatir jika Allah amanahkan seseorang tumbuh dalam keluarga kita baik anak biologis kita ataupun ideologis.

Kedua, perluas definisi tentang rezeki sebab rezeki tak hanya berupa materi. Setuju, kan? Dalam KBBI rezeki memiliki arti segala sesuatu yang dipakai untuk memelihara kehidupan (yang diberikan oleh Tuhan); makanan (sehari-hari); nafkah; penghidupan; pendapatan (uang dan sebagainya untuk memelihara kehidupan); keuntungan; kesempatan mendapat makan.

Diberikan kesehatan, teman yang baik, keluarga yang hangat, dimudahkan segala urusan, makan yang cukup, pekerjaan yang mudah adalah bagian dari rezeki. Sama halnya dengan memandang kalimat banyak anak banyak rezeki. Kita perlu memperluas definisi rezeki sehingga tidak hanya berbatas materi. Dikaruniai anak yang sehat, penuh semangat, selalu ceria merupakan rezeki yang tak terkira. Jadi jangan hanya terpaku bahwa jika Allah amanahkan buah hati maka akan berbanding lurus dengan pendapatan yang bertambah. Tidak ada hukum seperti itu.

Aku jadi teringat suatu peristiwa ketika melahirkan anak pertama kala itu di usia pernikahan kami yang baru akan menginjak genap 1 tahun. Kondisi ekonomi keluarga kami memang belum stabil bahkan suami belum memiliki pekerjaan tetap. Selanjutnya, diterimanya suami saat melamar pekerjaan dan beberapa bulan kemudian resign berada di waktu yang pas menurutku. Tentu ada campur tangan Allah di dalamya. Suami juga seorang mahasiswa S2 di salah satu universitas negeri di Jogja sehingga ketika mencari pekerjaan ia lebih memilih yang mampu dan sanggup untuk multiperan. Ternyata, ada.

Sejak aku hamil, kami mulai menabung dan menyisihkannya untuk biaya persalinan. Qadarullah, hasil tabungan kami seketika habis untuk keperluan lain yang lebih penting untuk saat itu. Kami masih merasa tenang jika akhirnya ada tagihan pembayaran maka bisa menggunakan pos tabungan yang lain jika benar-benar harus dilakukan. MaasyaaAllah alhamdulillah siapa sangka biaya persalinanku adalah 0 rupiah. Aku hanya mengeluarkan Rp50.000,00 untuk membayar kendil yang digunakan sebagai penyimpanan plasenta atau ari-ari.

Bukankah hal itu bagian dari rezeki yang nyata?

Kita mungkin tak memiliki uang yang banyak tapi kita selalu berusaha untuk memiliki rasa yang cukup atas segala nikmat yang Allah beri. Itu sudah lebih dari cukup.

Kita dimampukan untuk menggali hikmah dari setiap keadaan. Itu juga lebih dari cukup.

Semua itu adalah tinggal bagaimana kita bersyukur. Allah akan menambah nikmat kepada kita apabila bersyukur seperti yang disebutkan dalam ayat berikut ini yang memiliki arti berikut ini

"Dan (ingatlah) ketika Tuhanmu memaklumkan, “Sesungguhnya jika kamu bersyukur, niscaya Aku akan menambah (nikmat) kepadamu, tetapi jika kamu mengingkari (nikmat-Ku), maka pasti azab-Ku sangat berat.”

4. Is there a specific episode that was especially fun to work on?

the most fun episodes in SBR were always the ones with other performers, especially the ones which we managed to have the big rehearsals for. S2's 35 was a big one for that, and the S1 & S2 finales. Just good vibes, honestly!!

my favourite episode of Clockwork Bird to work on was the one where Shelly rescues the hamster. I loved writing all the bonkers conspiracy board stuf, that was so fun, and Daisy did a great job with the performance there, it was so fun to edit. I was also just properly getting into the rhythm of sound design by that stage too, it was a good time!

so far my favourite episode of NQD to work on was the opening of S3. I'm really proud of how it turned out and it's such a fun little idea. but I also had a lot of fun with episode 38 which I have to say my be my favourite of the season?? I know it's not good to have favourite children but I've loved every bit of this one, from concept to execution, I just hope everyone else likes it when it comes out!!

Is the power transfer temporary, and can it only be used once…? And it seems to be implied that one needs to be holding the dying power user for the transfer to happen (like with Qiao Ling). Is that what happened as well to Lu Guang?

There’s that scene in ep6 with the photo of Xixi and her mom. Lu Guang told Cheng Xiaoshi that if the photo is lost, ‘their’ present will be lost. I guess LG knows this from firsthand experience…? Did he destroy the photo he used to dive back in time so the future he came from will less likely happen/be cut off completely? And how many times did he go back to actually find that out…? 😅 (ooh, and now CXS knows that too ohno—)

Liu Xiao and his talk about parallel universes kinda reminded me of Byakuran from KHR 😆😅 I’m actually excited to see what havoc he and Tianchen are going to do lol

Anyway, I’m looking forward to a S3, and hopefully we get more answers then (though there will probably be more questions and headshakers as usual 😅).

The Monster of My Memories, Truth and Reconciliation, What, Like It's Hard? (co-authored with chxmpxgnproblems!), Pearly Whites (my very first fic ❤) and Like That.

5. Do you respond to comments? Yes! Though it might take me a while. I cherish every comment I get so I'll always at least thank the commenter.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I don't really do angsty endings, but probably A Steady Hand.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I want to say In Hell Together After All, but that kind of has a 'happy for now' vibe. You know what, it might be Popcorn (NSFW).

8. Do you get hate on fics? No, thank goodness. The rudest comment I ever got was "THAT’S IT?" and I like to tell myself that the person who left that comment didn't know how WIPs work and expected the entire fic to be finished.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes! But I'm in a bit of a smut rut right now. 🙈 The 'what kind' is kind of difficult for me to answer so for now I'm just going to say 'old man yaoi' (though my Nickistat fic has them in their early twenties).

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? Nope.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? No, but I did have very dumb Twitter drama with someone who thinks I'm the asshole for side-eyeing her for trying to make a phrase she lifted from one of my fics her tagline.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? No. I could technically translate all my own fics into Dutch, but literally no one would want that.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I don't really have one. I'm very determined to finish What, Like It's Hard? (Though I have no idea when I'll manage that.) I'm chronically ill in a way that messes with my concentration and energy levels so I decided very early on to focus on one shots and series consisting of connected but standalone fics. I have plenty of fic ideas I'll probably have to scrap after S2 airs, but that's okay.

16. What are your writing strengths? Somehow I'm really good at capturing Old Man Daniel’s voice in dialogue?

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Jumping from one WIP to another to another. 😭 I also tend to overuse 'again', but I'm very aware of that so it's not really an issue.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I try to use this very sparingly. Mainly because it takes me out of the story s a reader when I have to scroll down for a translation. I prefer to just say, "he said in [other language]" and italicising the dialogue in question.

19. First fandom you wrote for? IWTV again. I've never felt the urge to write for another fandom and idk if I ever will.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written? That's such an impossible question for me! I love (almost) all my babies. Probably Silver Lining, though. I really like Armand’s journey in that and how I took the time to get him there.
