A couple days had passed since the incident in the darkness of the dungeons. The Greenwood guard had been bustling with rumors and hushed tones—as well as the servants and maids. Whispers were winding through the castle and rushing down the halls—as well as the double patrol shifts, for Thranduil commanded a larger military presence until the culprit was found. At this point, really everyone knew that someone had snuck into the long hallway of dispirited cells, sending the most popular prisoner into a fugue state. It was now common knowledge.

ok so in general i don’t think Tanaka is the type to be shy about asking for affection, physical or otherwise

but early on in your relationship, before the two of you are like comfortable comfortable with each other?? Tanaka’s touch starvation would probably first appear when you ask to pet his hair (if you’ve ever felt someone’s super short buzzed hair you know what i’m talking about! i think it feels really cool)

he’s a little hesitant at first bc he lowkey thinks you’re making fun of him for being a baldy but once you assure him that no you’re actually just curious about how it’ll feel he gives in because he’s a SIMP

he’d bow his head a little bit to give you easier access but as soon as your palm touches his hair he absolutely m e l t s

he just closes his eyes and lets out a contented little sigh as he leans into your touch

he’d probably end up resting his head on your shoulder, letting out happy little hums or sighs every so often

you know how sometimes when you stop petting a dog they sometimes bump your hand with their head like  “wait don’t stop i’m not done being loved on yet 🥺🥺”? Tanaka would do that without thinking then get a little sheepish about it once he realizes.

once the relationship is a little less new and you’re both a bit more comfortable i feel like Tanaka is the type of boyfriend to almost always be touching you in some way, even if it’s as small as linking pinkies

also, the more comfortable he is in the relationship, the more clingy and vocal he is about wanting physical affection.

Tanaka Ryuunosuke was never good at studying. 

He could run around the school in under ten minutes. He could play a full game of volleyball and then play all over again. He was quick on the court, and he was one damn powerful player. But he was horrible at studying.

Despite help from Ennoshita, and even Yamaguchi and Tsukishima, he still struggled. So you, being dutiful to your boyfriend, decided to try your hand at it too.

True, he'd retained enough information to pass exams and tests, but you knew he could do better. He may act a bit goofy, but he was still a ways off from truthfully being called stupid. 

"Babe," he whined, "My brain hurts, please, please can we take a break?" You had to laugh as he wound his arms around your waist to stuff his face in your stomach. 

“C’mon Ryuu, one more question and then we’re finished.” you promised. He lifted his head, looking up at you with a gentle smile. 

“And then you’ll be back tomorrow and we’ll do it all over again.”

“Tanaka!” You laughed, pressing your hands to his cheeks. “You’re acting like that’s a bad thing.” You said, mocking a pout and squishing his cheeks together so his next words were muffled.

“I lov’ your company, ‘ts just that I’d prefer it ‘f we weren’t studying.” 

Your head met together, and you pressed a kiss to his goldfish-looking lips before tralling them up, on his nose, and then to his forehead. 

“Better?” You asked. He smiled.

“Much.”

He really did blabber non-stop.  Every second that you were with him, it’s like his mouth never stopped moving, telling you every little thing about his day without missing a single detail, repeating jokes that Nishinoya had told him, reenacting the endless shenanigans from the first years on the team.  Tanaka just never seemed to stop talking.  Never stopped long enough to look at you because he knew that if he stared at you too long, it would be impossible to hide the pink of his ears and the steady blush that took over his cheeks.  

It just started as a little crush as childhood friends grew into teenagers, battling through those awkward years together, coming out the other side, well-

Stunning.  

Honestly, Tanaka wasn’t sure he could pinpoint the first time he ever saw you, truly saw you as something other than the girl who grew up next door and who would race him up and down the sidewalks until you were both catastrophically sprawled on the grass, chests heaving with exhaustion, too tired to speak or even move.  But, he did know that he never wanted to go back to that mentality.  You had grown up alongside him, seen him at his highest highs and his lowest lows.  You’d been there when he tumbled ungracefully from a tree in the third grade and you had wiped his eyes when he inevitably began to cry.  You had been there in the stands, cheering as loudly as his sister, the first time he ever got to step onto the court to play the sport that he loved so much.  

He could deny it all he wanted to, but no matter how hard he tried to push those feelings back down into the pit of his stomach, they always bubbled back up when you ruffled your hair in just the right way or when you would bump against him as the two of you walked home after a long day of class.  

“So, then, Kageyama was all like, ‘Hinata, you dumbass! You can’t receive the ball with your face!’ and, of course, Hinata had to say some shit back and-”

“Ryu?” You pipe up, letting your feet come to a stop on the pavement.  

He raises his eyebrows, turning around to look at you and he wishes he could’ve stared at you for an eternity.  The afternoon sun produced golden hues against your skin, bringing out the natural highlights of your face.  It was almost ethereal and he really couldn’t believe that you grew up to be so beautiful and that after all of this time, you were taking the fabric of his shirt between your hands, tugging him towards you.  Your face reached up to meet his, pressing your lips to his.  

In all of his 16 years, Tanaka was sure that he had never smiled more as his hands slowly found their place on your face, enjoying nothing more than the feeling of your lips pressed so warmly against his. 

You can only pull away for a short moment, muttering, “You really do talk to much,” quietly against his lips, but the words are lost to your childhood friend, your new love, as he just shakes his head, that wide grin never faltering, pulling your lips back to his for just one more kiss.

Hey there!! First of all I wanted to say (and I'm sure you get this a lot) that your art is just GORGEOUS I LOVE IT SM!! Secondly I was wondering what process you use to watercolor paint? If it's ok to ask ofc. I'm currently trying to learn myself and nothing seems to be going well 😅 so I was curious as to your technique. Anyways thanks for your time!! 💖💖

It’s always okay to ask! That’s how we all learn, right?

Basically, my watercolor painting process is to do many very thin (diluted) layers of color and build it up. It has the downside of looking like absolute garbage for the majority of the painting until it suddenly starts coming together, but all those layers really pay off with some rich color depth, and I’m into it. 

Then, I go and add detail with either (or both) watercolor pencils and colored pencils, and lastly, I’ll add some highlight with either a good gouache or acrylic paint.

The thing about learning watercolor is that you kinda have to know that it’s gonna have a mind of its own. It can be very challenging to learn to use because it’s kind of like taming the chaos sometimes, but that chaos can really work in your favor if you’re patient with it.

My advice is to JUST PAINT! Play with it, and don’t be afraid to fail on a piece!

So, it’s Fic Writer’s Appreciation Day...

I know this is coming in a little later, than other’s posts about it, but if we really take a step back - we should be appreciation fic writers all the time, not just on one day. 

Some people do whatever they can to support people like me - writers of fics that post and share their hobby with the world - and that takes a helluva lot of guts to do. The world’s a scary place, and the people in it can be hella nasty, but we keep posting anyway. 

So without further adieu, I’ll get started (’cause this could be a long list...)!

(Also, please take these lightly. I’m not great with words, and I can be awfully awkward, so bewarned~)  

First that comes to mind is @ellana-ravenwood. She’s an amazing writer, and I’m not going to lie by saying she wasn’t a huge inspiration for me to start writing and posting - because she was, and still is. So, Ella, if you’re reading this, I want you to know how much you mean to me - and no doubt others too. You’re awesome. Don’t ever doubt yourself. 

Next is @writefightandflightclub. My fellow Poe Hoe. My ride or die. I don’t care if you don’t see me the same, you’re a homie to me, and I would kill or be killed for you - I swear that. You always manage to say the best stuff, and I have no idea how you do it, but you better not stop.

@gingerwritess is my go-to for Loki fics. I will forever proclaim your talent, Theo, and how you always manage to write Loki so well. Honestly - did you sell your soul or something? If you did I wouldn’t be surprised. We love your work! 

Naturally @propertyofpoeandbucky is on this list, and not just because she’s an absolute doll. Both her and @whirlybirbs have this thing where they get into a new and almost completely unrelated fandom from the one I followed them for, and let’s just say - Lani - I have never felt such a pull to Spencer Reid in my whole damn life up until you started writing for him. I swear - 

@fizzyxcustard and @cassiabaggins both post some slapping Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit fics, and they both always manage to pull me into the void known as the Durin Hole, because damn - if somehow their writing doesn’t do that one day, that will be the day I am taken into the darkness and die. 

@sunmoonandbucky, @cake-writes, and @imanuglywombat - the Bucky Babes. All three of you are honestly such good writers, and even better people. I love you three so much, and you always deliver - not the content we want - but the content we deserve. I send my love to you, hang in there guys!

@haikyuudreaming. Kris. Sweetie. Your headcanons make my day. They always make me feel better, even if they’re filled with angst - and I can’t help it, they just do, so we’ll have to just put up with that fact. You write our volleyball boys so well, and I love you so for it. 

@quilledinkpen. The more I get to know you the more we have in common. I swear if we end up being seperated twins or something I wouldn’t even flinch at it. You’re writing is great, and you’re doing so well. 

@commanderserwin, @xxsmokeyy, and @attackonfics, you all feed my Attack on Titan thirst so well. You all write beautifully, and convey the feelings that would come with being in this anime so well that I often find myself cutting off from the real world and being right there - you know? Thank you, for being able to do that. 

@keiqos and @keilemlucent, you both are my go-to sin-bin bingers. I’m a Hawks gal through-and-through, but damn - when you write for others I read them too, and I love them just as much. I feel like I need to wash my eyes out, but I guess it’s my fault I can’t help going back for more, huh?

In short, I love all your writing so much. More than words can really say. So consider this me also sending you as much hugs and love as you need!
