It was a mistake, Kung Lao knew that as he watched from the shadows; peering into the small house where three people sat around a table, drinking and laughing together. He knew one of them well, although he guessed that they weren’t the same as the one he loved.

It seemed like a lifetime ago, but he still had the necklace around his neck, the pure silver one with your initials carved into a rounded small rock.

It seemed like a lifetime ago, when he watched you die in his arms; when he cried over you and refused to take control of The Hourglass until he was forced to. Liu Kang told him not to do it, told him not to go back and to change your fate; as much as he wanted to, Kung Lao did listen.

He vowed to do everything you asked of him, though, and even though he knew that you would have wanted him to move on, he never did. It all seemed like a lifetime ago, as he watched you pull a young Raiden into a kiss, grinning; he must have been the same age that Kung Lao was when he first became a Titan, maybe a few years older.

You seemed so happy, but when Kung Lao set eyes on his alternate self, he could only shake his head; he was smiling, but it didn’t reach his deep, rich brown eyes and it hardly even sat properly on his lips. Forced.

He knew that look, he knew that it came out right as you kissed Raiden, and although he didn’t want to, Kung Lao sighed as he tugged his hood up and turned away from the sight.

Swiping a hand down his face, he looked up at the sky for a moment; silently telling you that you should have never left him, it was cruel for fate to take you away from him, and he despised being alone and seeing you with Raiden.

He wanted nothing more than to hold you again, to feel you in his arms and to hear your snoring when you slept next to him; he wanted nothing more than to kiss you gently and slowly when he woke in the morning, grumbling and complaining when you reminded him to get out of bed soon.

He just wanted to be with you again, but Liu Kang told him plainly: the one in this timeline was not the one in his own.

You were a different person. You weren’t the one that Kung Lao had fallen in love with and made a constant arse of himself to impress, even on your wedding day.

You weren’t the love of his life; the love of his life had died in his arms, and he should have known that. As hard as it was to try and remind himself.

“Raiden!” You laughed, grinning as you playfully shoved your boyfriend by the chest. “Stop!”

He grinned, going in for another kiss as he tugged you closer. “I’m not doing anything!”

“Yes, you are!” You snorted, meeting him halfway and kissing him gently between short bursts of laughter. “You fucking beautiful bastard!”

Kung Lao clenched his jaw, doing his best not to roll his eyes as he watched the scene unfold; for years, you and Raiden had been like it, constantly touching and cuddling and making him sick to his stomach.

He always hoped that you would have seen him instead; he had always hoped that you would see how much he loved you, and how much he was constantly trying to impress you and prove himself to you.

But you never did, you always seemed to be so drawn to Raiden despite every single one of Kung Lao’s efforts; he tried his best to be happy for you, he really did, but it usually just made him feel sick.

“Raiden!” You gasped when he tugged you onto his lap. “Kung Lao is a terrible influence on you!”

Kung Lao smiled at the mention of his name, getting up and saying that he was going to quickly go shower; you and Raiden didn’t see anything wrong, telling him to make up his mind about what he wanted for tea.

Raiden hummed, waiting for Kung Lao to be fully out of the room before he moved to sit you on the table, standing between your legs as he softly kissed your neck. “Have I ever told you how much I love you?”

You spread your legs so he could get closer, letting your arms rest over his shoulders as you smiled and gently kissed his cheek. “Every day when we get up.”

“I want to tell you again,” he murmured, pulling away from you before fumbling in his pocket. He pressed the dark navy velvet box in your hand, and sighed. “Kung Lao said you’d like this one best… I couldn’t make my mind up, I was so nervous, I-”

“Yes,” you nodded, grinning. “You don’t even need to ask me - yes.”

Raiden grinned as he gawked at you, raising his brows in complete shock. “Re- really?”

You tugged him closer by the front of his shirt, planting a soft kiss to his lips. “Yes, always, yes.”

Stood at the bathroom door, Kung Lao wiped the tears from his face as he sniffled, shaking his head.

He wanted to be happy, he really did. He wanted nothing more than to be happy for you and Raiden; but knowing that you were going to marry him, that you would promise your heart to his, it was making his chest ache.

All the air pushed from his lungs as he tilted his head back and closed his eyes tightly shut. He swallowed thickly, whimpering under his breath before he grabbed a towel and gently closed the bathroom door behind him.

He had lost you for good, now, and although he was really trying to be happy for you and Raiden, his heart was falling to pieces as he turned the shower on, unable to keep himself from sobbing.

EI: She looks at you, still a bit red from the happiness, while still having a kind smile. She leans towards you, while still maintaining eye contact, she pats you shoulders and as she gets close enough, she leans in closer, she wants to kiss him on the lips, but something feels off and she stops mid way, she feels that is way too early for her to do it.

Y/N: you notice that, a bit confused: oh.. i-is there something.. off?

EI: I blush when Y/N says that, I feel embarrassed, yet I reply: "I feel the same as you, I want you by my side for all eternity. EI: I see the words that Y/N just used and now I am embarrassed, but in a good way. It feels good to know my actions are making him feel better and better. "I am deeply thankful that you used that name, it makes me happy. Even though I feel a bit embarrassed for it, the feeling of you calling me that is good enough."

Y/N: It's a pleasure to h-hear that... H-how do you like to call me instead..?

EI: She smiles, and she ponders a bit before answering, what is the best name she can come up with. "I must say, calling you 'Dearest' also has a good flow to it, but let me know what you think about it, I don't want to be calling you something you do not enjoy.

Y/N: Y-yes... you blush, completely stunned by her ways.

EI: I see them blush a bit again and I continue smiling, I want to give them a little kiss on his forehead once more because of how cute they are, yet I try to calm myself before doing something I will regret, Y/N really makes my heart weak, yet they do make me happy.

Y/N: you decide to kiss her forehead, gently.

EI: They suddenly kiss my forehead and it catches me by surprise, I do feel happy though, I let them continue because I am too happy to say something. I blush, a normal blush, but with a smile in it, I am glad everything went so well, the best this could've gone.

Y/N: you remain in silence while looking at her, only to say this a few seconds after: Ei... I would never leave you, don't even think so~ you remember about what she had faced in the past with her sister, sensing her fears.

EI: I see Y/N blush due to thinking about my past, I feel somewhat sad about him thinking of my past as it is not the best, but they are doing it just to comfort me, they are such a kind person. So, as a reply to such kindness, I give them one long hug, a hug that conveys my appreciation for how good he is making me feel.

Y/N: you hug her back, tightly.

EI: I feel their hug, and I hug them back, still feeling a bit guilty about their thinking of me, but they are also a comforting feeling, this is somewhat helping me forget about my past. I feel like I should ask them something. I let go and I look at them, a big smile on my face. "Are you happy with me, Y/N?"

Y/N: quite surprised by the question, you reply immediately: I never felt happier than now, my sweet eternity~

EI: I was expecting that answer, it is the answer I needed, a bit of a cheesy, yet I love it. So, as a reply, I give them a little kiss on the forehead while smiling. I am satisfied with their answer.

Y/N: you kiss her nose, gently.

EI: I feel my nose with their lips, I feel I want to do something similar in return, but then I stop, if I go on this road, then my feelings, which are already quite developed, will develop even further.. and if I end up confessing my feelings, I may end up feeling guilt if I do something wrong.. but the feelings are so strong they don't let me think too much, So, I end up kissing Y/N anyways.

Y/N: as she does that, you notice her discomfort, and you feel your heart racing. So you whisper: Ei, if ever there's something making you uncomfortable.. either about us two, or in general..you can always tell me..

I feel a happy kind of guilt, the guilt that makes you feel good, this is the first time in a long time I don't feel so bad about something in so long, and Y/N is the one to make me feel so happy.

Hey!!! Thank you so much for this request <3 you didn’t specify what kind of genre you were looking for (light-hearted, angst, etc) so I just went with the flow. I also got some inspiration from @azul-marie and her wonderful mk post about intros with a goddess reader and I loved it!!

Context: The characters knew Y/N before she became the dark version of herself, it’s a similar concept to Dark Raiden. Y/N had a past relationship with each of the characters.

Fujin: “What happened to you?” A pained expression flickered across his face as he readied his sword.

Fujin: “Greed is a want, never a need.”

Fujin: “What happened to you?”

Baal Tries to Cook for You - (Male Reader)

Currently, you were trying to hide from Baal as the traveler had told you earlier that she tried cooking for you.

You knew the limits of your stomach and how you’d probably get food poisoning.

Sure, you love your wife.. But if she cooks- yeah no thanks.

“Darling..? Where are you? I cooked for you!”

Baal shouted, trying to locate you. You could picture her shouting with a smile, proud that she had actually created a dish.

‘Please don’t come near the closet- please don’t come near the closet- DANG IT!’

“Dear, what are you doing in the closet? Come, I’ve made food for you! You should try it!”

She said, sparkles practically radiating off her from excitement.

Y/N didn’t want his poor wife to feel sad if he rejected her, so of course…

“Yes, of course darling. I would happily try it… ahaha..”

He said awkwardly.

Baal then took Y/N’s hand and dragged him to the living room.

“Stay here! I need to get a blindfold!”

Baal went quickly while Y/N stood there with dread. 😢

‘Oh dear…’

After a bit, Baal came back with a black blindfold.

Baal gave you the blindfold with no hesitation while you slowly put on the blindfold in despair.

“Okay! Let’s go~!”

Your wife paid no attention to your tone once again and took you by the hand to the kitchen.

You smelled a strong scent of something being burnt. There were also lots of other smells you couldn’t quite figure out from smell alone. But what you could tell, was that you were probably gonna get food poisoning. 😭😢😅

You then felt your blindfold getting loose slowly and your vision came back.

Baal was in front of you smiling widely, with a plate of omelette that was very… strange looking.. It had sparks of electro and you could clearly see the mess behind her on the floor.

One of the items on the floor was a white porcelain bowl. It seemed to have had purple liquid before in it.. If that was in it, and the only dish she made was the omelette.. Oh dear- 😰

‘Also- What’s with the purple ketchup on it?!’

You knew you should’ve hid somewhere else other then the closet!

She used her fingers to take the fork under the plate to give to you.

You picked up the fork and swiped a piece of the omelete, put it in your mouth, and chewed slowly.

‘Yeah.. I’m definitely getting food poisoning-‘

Hey, how are you? Hope so. I would like to say that I love Baby Sano and I have a question, when did Raiden realize that he likes her? It was something like they were coming home from school, then Raiden looked at her and noticed? I hope your day is wonderful.

Raiden always had some protectivness towards her since they met around the age of 8/9. He didn't think much of it since at first she was just some girl who knew how to fight.

She wasn't scared of standing up for herself or others. He was just protective because she wouldn't be scared of stating the truth either. Her little quirks annoyed him sometimes too, from wanting to nap all day, getting pouty when she doesn't get her snacks. That stupid grin she gives him after they beat up bullies.

Around 14 he realized that he wanted to protect her because she means so much to him. She would cup his cheeks and inspect his face when he got into fights. Suddenly he didn't mind carrying her on his back when she napped.

He started carrying snacks for her because she could get really grumpy when she's hungry. But he was also not scared of lecturing her when she went too far or flicking her forehead to remind her that she needed to calm down.

He adores that grin she always gives him, especially when she's focused in him. Does he fail on purpose so she could tutor him? Yes because he can listen to her talk all day.

"Kazuha are you sure you don't want me to come with you?"

Beidou attempts to convince Kazuha one last time if she could help him but he refuses like always. "Beidou I'll be fine, beside this is something I must do alone." He sternly responds to Beidou. "Well if that's what you insist then I won't get in your way kid." Kazuha waves to the captain of the Crux before leaving the dock making his way to Higi Village.

Kazuha had gotten a letter from an unknown sender about how to re-kindle his friend's vision, he knew that something was off but he didn't want to give up trying to re-kindle it after what happened when he deflected that strike from the Raiden Shogun, he just had to try.

"[Name]! Please don't leave! I promise I can change!"

Your mother pleads you from leaving. "I told you I can't just keep letting you ruin my life by keeping me in here, I got my vision months ago so you can't keep me in here anymore." you coldly answer her. "I'm begging Yn! please I don't have anyone anymore!" she ran to hug you but you dodge her arms causing her to fall. "Then go bother someone else, go ahead and tell everyone I'm selfish and cruel." you walk past her, you gave her a glare before leaving her silently crying.

Your mother never loved you, she just needed someone to bring her inside the house when she's drunk. You use to have siblings but all of them have already left it's either because they had ran away or your father took them, you were the unlucky one to be left with your mother, you live far from the city but you were determine to start a new life as a wanderer just like you always dreamed of with your siblings.

Kazuha arrived at Higi village with hesitation, the winds felt uneasy, it almost felt like a warning but he still had to try. He enters the village, it was quiet and abandon, the letter stated that they would be inside the third house near the small bridge. He saw a drop of blood near the entrance of the house, he gripped his sword, cautiously. He peeks his head inside to see a man in a pool of blood, Kazuha rushes to the man. "N-no, K-" the man coughs out blood. "No don't talk We can still save you-" he pushes Kazuha away. "No! those g-guys the-they are after y-" he coughs once again but this time he mumbled and bled out, Kazuha heard foot steps from behind him. "Finally I get to meet the famous Kaedehara Kazuha." he smelled the stench of the Tenryou Commission reeking the surrounding. "The Vision hunt decree is over why are you still after me?" The soldier scoffs. "Why need a reason to go after someone? Half of Tenryou despises you, why not just finish the job and go see your little friend in hell?" Kazuha unsheathed his sword. "Do not put my dear friend's name in that filthy mouth of yours".

Passing by Higi village was a blessing to you. Your legs were killing you plus the sun was already going down but as you enter you felt a strong gust of wind almost making you fall, you quickly find where it came from to see a house destroyed and Tenryou soldiers cut in half and bloody to the brink of death you heard someone groan inside the house, you look into the house to see a man with white hair holding a huge gash in his torso. You rush to his side "Oh god, hey! I won't hurt you don't worry" You gently take his hand away to examine the gash, he was silent, most likely preventing himself from passing out. "Ok there should be a house with some kind of medicine" you rip some fabric of your sleeve and wrap it around the gash to stop any further bleeding, he hissed as you carry him on your back. You search house to house and find a small medicinal hut. You put the man down on the small bed, you find some crushed up onikabuto and bandages, right after you remove the cloth you put on the gash earlier, you quickly apply the onikabuto's on the gash, he let out a loud groan. "Oh I'm sorry! I forgot that it would hurt…" you briefly apologize to him before tightly wrapping the bandages on him, you suggest him to rest while you keep watch. "Thank you, for treating my wound" he thanks you as you watch out from the window. "No need to thank me but could you tell me what happened there earlier if you don't mind.." he takes a deep breath as he recalls what happened.

3 more soldiers enter the house cornering Kazuha, It was him and Kagotsurube Isshin. "Say hi to your dear friend for us in hell hm?", 2 of the soldiers charge first from both side, Kazuha dodges the left soldier while he slashed right one from the leg. Another one charges Kazuha head on, He pushes himself up with his vision to plunge his sword from the back but he fails to notice the blabber mouth he was just talking to was gone from his line of site, he turns to block the attack but he wasn't fast enough. The soldier's sword slashed Kazuha's torso, Kazuha infused his sword with anemo creating a powerful slash cutting the soldier in half and house, the other 3 suffered the blow now bleeding heavily. Kazuha's exhaustion causing him to fall back against the wall.

"So you were ambushed by Tenryou soldiers? but why?" You gave Kazuha a concerned look as you walk up to him to sit next to him. "They just hold grudges against me" He sighs. "Oh wait I almost forgot what's your name?" "Kazuha, Kaedehara Kazuha" "oh well I'm Yn Nakamura it's nice to meet you" you gave him a small smile. "I've heard about a Kaedehara somewhere, I remember seeing a bounty poster about you." "Yes but my arrest warrent has been lifted after the Vision hunt decree" your eyes widened. "Oh the decree is over?" "yes for a while now" you sigh heavily. "I've been in that damned house for so long I didn't even know the decree was over" you bit your lip in anger, "You aren't a traveler?" "No I just left today, I'm planning to leave for Liyue but I live far from the city" he offers his hand to you. "Well if that's the case why don't I join you in your travel then you join me in mine?" "Deal but after we take those bandages off in a few days".

A young woman laid still on a bed in the middle of one of the many rooms of the Knights' of Favonius HQ. Her skin pale as the snow she was just freshly broken out of the ice. Keaya, Diluc, Master Jean, Lisa, Albedo, Sucrose, Venti-all of them were in the room looking at duo's discovery. It's a miracle that her heart is still beating. Only her breath was giving out any sort of warmth as she laid in the bed.

'Barbatos do you know who she is?' jean asked.

'No.' He lied. He lied. He lied. He lied. He knew full well who she was. His face blank all the memories rushing through his head on that one dreadful day, 500 years ago.

The first time you bombard him with kisses, he turns into stone as his brain processes what just happened

He was so still for so long that you worried you did something wrong but he snaps out of his daze to convince you otherwise

Fujin would try his best to match your energy, he’d start off with a couple kisses scattered throughout the day and before you know it, you lost count of all the times his lips have graced your face

Hanzo:

The first time you kissed him-- a singular kiss, mind you-- he teared up

So it was no surprise he completely broke down when you left a trail of kisses all over his face (kiss his scars and he’ll remember that moment forever)

He’s not a big fan of PDA given his past, but he’ll match you 100% in private

He’ll give you 3 kisses for every kiss you give him

If y’all ever get into a fight, give him a couple kisses and it’ll completely melt all the tension

Shang Tsung:

My little snake man <333

Looooovvvessss your affection and your attention, it's an ego boost to know how whipped you are for him (and he’s just as whipped for you <3)

Everytime you kiss him, his eyes close and he wears this smug smirk and all of the day’s troubles melt away

Shang knows how much you love it when he cups your face with his clawed hands and gives you a full kiss on the mouth (and if you’re into it, he’ll give your throat a little squeeze with his claws pressing into your skin)

He might not play 100 kisses with you, but he’ll make sure you receive just as much physical attention from him ;)

Raiden and Fujin Mentoring a Young God Reader

Context: The reader is a Moon God that is tasked with watching over Earthrealm because there has been far too much crime during the night.

Raiden:

He’s a more stricter teacher out of the both of them

Similar with his mentorship with Liu Kang, Raiden will work you to the bone

But rest assured, all of your hard work will be paid off

As the Moon God, your rightful place is in the clouds, watching over Earthrealm completely

But since you’re new, Raiden forces you to hover above the most dangerous cities. He forces you to watch the pain and crimes done against innocent civilians when you’re unable to save them.

Raiden believes that experiencing that guilt will motivate you to train harder and do better

At first, the training was cruel-- there were many nights when you couldn’t stand to see another soul die because of your shortcomings. Nights where you’re unable to watch are when the moon isn’t present in the sky.

If you’re unable to do your nightly watch, expect a severe thunderstorm to hit Earthrealm to awaken the residents. The thunderstorms aren’t out of anger, they are just a warning system telling mortals to be on guard since their Moon God wouldn’t be able to be on duty

His training is vigorous but in just a few months, your abilities will be on par to that of Liu Kang

Raiden had also gifted you with the All-Seeing eye-- those are the extra craters on the moon. They allow you to have a better view of Earthrealm. Think of it like having 400 different screens with CCTV footage

Under Raiden’s careful hand, your reign as Moon God would give you a 97% success rate in protecting Earthrealm from the terrors of the night.

As a result, you’ve changed society as a result. People always said that good sleep was one of the most important things to a person; you are the reason they say so.

Fujin:

Like Raiden, he too believes that watching the suffering of civilians and seeing just how vulnerable there are would encourage you to do your best

But unlike Raiden, Fujin knows when it becomes too much for you

On days when you’re too exhausted to train or you simply can’t take the mental pressure of it all, he puts up a veil of clouds and allows you a few days of rest

Fujin is also a firm believer in having your presence as a god known, that’s why he encourages you to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Sun God during the day. That’s why mortals are able to see the moon during the day.

While Raiden liked to keep you in the sky, Fujin thinks it’s better to have you at Ground Zero to better protect Earthrealm

You would disguise yourself as an average-looking mortal and wander the streets-- sometimes with Fujin, sometimes by yourself-- and keep watch.

Fujin’s method involves getting to know you the civilians on a personal level

So while your success rate wouldn’t be as high with Fujin, you would have actual worshippers and people who adore you because you had been there during their times of need

Most of the time, you would be a listening ear to all the broken hearts that had nowhere to go. But there would be times when someone would be in real danger, and that’s where your kombat skills would come in

Your main training would include the Art of Emotion-- since you are tasked with being more of a mental and emotional savior, you must learn to read different emotions and how to aid almost any situation 

Through Fujin’s training, you would become a pillar in almost everyone’s life. Whether or not you’ve actually met them, people from all over the world would come to you to help-- either in person or by looking up at the stars for you

Worship would include literature, poetry, art, music, temples, statues, and whole religions built around you

Key differences: 

Under Raiden’s Tutelage: 

He would teach you how to become a Kombatant god, similar to Kotal Kahn

You wouldn’t have as much recognition as you would under Fujin’s training

Your savior success rate would be nearly perfect (97%)

Under Fujin’s Tutelage:

You would become an emotional support for the people of Earthrealm

Will be heavily worshipped and become an integral part of the world’s culture, traditions, and religions

But you wouldn’t have much of a physical saving rate-- you can only control the moods and feelings of mortals-- very rarely would you ever get into kombat to save someone
