In contrast to Omega's theme, Hemlock's theme (The Doctor) brings a chilling presence to the show reminding us of disturbing forces beyond officers like Rampart. Hemlock's theme also serves as the theme of the infamous Mt. Tantiss introduced in the incredibly influential Thrawn Trilogy. His theme eludes the mad amoral scientist that he is who feigns respect for his test subjects and prisoners to get what he wants. The orchestra mixed with electronic music also further heightens the dark experiments happening on Mt. Tantiss. As the music crescendos at the end, we're left off with minor piano notes (present throughout his theme) reinforcing the monster let loose at Mt. Tantiss. The Kiners also foreshadow his theme as far back as the ending of S1 (Starting from 1:27 in Lama Su).

Summary:

Padmé comes up with a fabulous idea that involves Din Djarin and the destruction of the Death Star. Din has to let go of Grogu. Obi Wan and Padmé realize the price it will take them to turn Anakin back from the Dark side. Bo Katan knows Anakin is Darth Vader, she confronts Obi Wan about it. Dreams are shared, goodbyes are bittersweet and Windu feels a foreboding coming on his way...

79’s still exist!! I thought for sure it would’ve been gone by now. And then Dave gives us more precious clone boys to love only to kill them 😭 this tendency is killing me one clone at a time!

And we got Chuchi fighting for our boys! I knew she would do that and always wondered what happened to her after order 66 because she isn’t there on the original trilogy. I guess we’ll find out soon, but it worries me A LOT!!! Like, girl… just run away to be a rebel with Rex before you end up dead please!

And Echo just decides to do just that without a heads up like… WFT?! Now I’m even more worried about my baby boy! You can’t kill him Dave. I dare you! We’ll riot!

Rex look good on his new clothes and there’s Omega wearing that cute poncho in the Senate and meeting Bail too. She’s definitely going to join the rebellion eventually.

Burtoni really doesn’t give a f*ck to anyone but herself huh. She just gives off those vibes. And is too old to care about anyone’s opinion.

And of course Palps would let Rampart take the fall and manipulate everything to blame the clones too. Like… you wanted them to be blindly loyal and now you’re blaming them for being exactly what you wanted?! I hate Palps with all my being and I’m not sorry!! 😡 Also, it’s not like the Storm troopers will be any better with how corrupt the whole operation will be.🙄

Now I’m just waiting to see when the heck Rex is going to find out about Cody, and what will happen to Chuchi, Echo and Cody during the time period between this and Rebels even if I’m terrified to find out 😰.

For christmas i got the entirety of the ds trilogy and i'm currently playing ds2 (got to iron keep and got access to crown of the sunken king dlc)

I'm really enjoying it so far (i think the hate it gets is unwarranted), but i'm pretty clueless on stuff like choosing weapons to use or where to find good armours. Got any tips?

Hey! I sincerely apologize for how late this is! I know, I need to get my act together 😅

But congrats on getting the whole trilogy and God, I hope I’m not so late that you’ve left DS2 behind, haha. I do absolutely love that game and especially the DLCs. It does get way too much hate, I agree.

As for the amours and weapons? Well, it depends on what you are going for. Some of us just care about fashion lol. There are some pretty reliable sets though.

I mean, I always would say that the Alonne armor set or the Heide set are both pretty decent. (Alonne’s armor can be bought from Magerold after the Alonne boss, and the Heide set is found after killing the knight in Lost Bastille/sometimes in pieces by the Heide knights).

Vengarl’s set (You can get it after beating Vengarl’s headless body near Freja’s primal bonfire) is really good, and it’s popular too. If you want something heavier, try Havel’s set (found in The Gutter). Llewelyn’s armor is good for the late game, and it’s pretty light with some good fire resistance. (Dropped by Stone Knights before you fight the Looking Glass knight). These are just off the top of my head. It’s hard to remember the exact assets of each one, but I know they have all served me well in the past. (It’s been a little bit since I played DS2).

Again though, if you’re like me—everything is about fashion. I haven’t been into PVP for a while, so I know some good builds that I used to be recommended or whatever, but I usually just wear what looks cool.

For weapons, you’ll usually get recommended stuff like the Ice Rapier or Fume Greatsword, although nowadays people are sick of the R1 spamming Ice Rapier users from what I have gathered lmao. It’s still not a bad weapon though, especially when buffed and leveled up. (Fume Greatsword will come from Raime’s soul, and the Ice Rapier is dropped by a Rampart Solider in Eleum Loyce).

I personally really like the Loyce Greatsword and the Drakeblood Greatsword, because they have simple but effective movesets and well…they look badass. Especially the Drakeblood. I always use it, and I feel like others would recommend it as well. (Loyce Sword comes from Lud’s soul if you sell it to Ornifex, and Drakeblood sword is on a corpse near the Dragon’s Sanctum bonfire/Eternal Sanctum Key).

If all else fails? ZWEIHANDER!! No, seriously, it’s a classic and it works…what’s not to like?

I need to play DS2 again, because lately it’s been all DS3 and Bloodborne, but I am glad you’re having fun with it! I wish I was a little more helpful, but you’re talking to the epitome of “I only care about fashion souls” if I’m honest. The bros on Reddit probably have way better advice on stats and builds, but I hope this at least gives you an idea of what to look for. Really, if you feel like it works for you, then go for it and utilize it. There’s no right answer if you are succeeding in whatever you’re trying to do. Best of luck with the trilogy, friend! <3

what i enjoyed the most about the book of koli/rampart trilogy is that it felt clear from the beginning that mr carey had planned out the story and knew where it was going to end up. you don't even get that from every novel series and as someone who watches a lot of children's shows that are rewritten on the fly bc the only rule is they have to air for an entire year it was so refreshing

Book Review: The Trials of Koli

Seeing more of this world as well as what’s left behind of the old one was fascinating. More tech and threats posed by people from other places, streets of bones and decayed buildings. I couldn’t get enough.

The characters are what truly drive Koli’s story. Koli himself is so naive in many ways yet so unintentionally wise in others. He is the perfect narrator for this story.
