I thought the clasps were a bit odd when I first saw them, but look.

thinking about how Hennessy and Ronan are the same person but not really but actually really are.

thinking about how both of them felt like dead weight to the people who loved them because they couldn't be left but always felt like they should be. about two hurting people feeling comforted by each other because it's easier than facing your loved ones whose wounds don't match.

thinking about "who was Hennessy without Jay? she was Jordan", "so Ronan lived" and got to be loved by so many people because Declan loved him. about how Ronan was always quiet about hurting but self destructed loudly by racing and drinking and how Hennessy was loud with her insults but quiet about asking to be followed and found. think of where I am, think of me. Hennessy projected the Lace outward but Ronan turned his inward.

thinking about how Hennessy started trusting herself to handle the Lace and reached out to Ronan after shutting the ley line down and woke him up with the sweetmetal tattoo. about the trust required for Hennessy to turn the Nathan dream into the Lace because Ronan asked for a home turf advantage.
