"This place is rigged with gas. One spark of fire and the whole place goes... Ka-Boom!"

"You wouldn't."

Ooh, my first question. Thank you for asking!

Even though I've watched tvd first, but I prefer the originals to it. So, my answer is going to be mostly about them.

I'm going to do the characters separately.

First, characters from T.O

Elijah Mikaelson (because he was the calm before the storm, I don't know how to describe him, he was just so resilient and holding onto his brother when the entire world could only see a monster in him, and for all his complex layers.) and Hayley Marshall (because she was a BAMF, the best mother you could have) fighting for first place, but none of them can win.

Camille O'Connell because she was such a ray of sunshine. (Caroline stans do not come at me, this is about two characters who have literally never met.)

Freya Mikaelson was such a badass.

Klaus Mikaelson because he had the best retorts and sarcasm.

Gia because she was so down to earth about everything. (Putting her after Klaus feels so wrong lmao.)

Now, Tvd characters. I can't conjure any explanation for them.

Ships.

Haylijah, because have you seen them? The chemistry, the compatibility, the love and all the respect. (S5 never happened.)

Bonenzo because they were so good together, and Enzo actually loved Bonnie and didn't spend his time using her.

Klamille, because Camille could see beyond 'evil Klaus' and understood him like no one else ever did, and Klaus saw so much light in her, and he cared about her.

Steroline because they were also good together.

Gialijah because they had so much chemistry and there was just something about them

Friendships.

Caroline & Enzo, because he stepped up for her and they had something special about them.

Camille & Vincent, because they related to one another after all damage they got because of the Mikaelson family, and they made something good out of it.

Freya & Hayley because they spent years together raising Hope, and they bonded so well.

Stefan and Lexi because they do supportive besties better than anyone.

Bonnie and Damon because they have managed to go from sworn enemies to best friends.

Familial bonds.

Hayley and Hope. No one does mother and daughter better than them.

Elijah and Rebekah. We saw so many times how Elijah cared for her and how she looked up to him. I believe he was her favorite brother, even if the show wanted to make us believe it was Klaus.

Marcel & Davina. They're not family by blood, but the way he was her family more than her real family and tried to protect her meant so much.

Elijah and Hope. We did not get much of them, but they had so much potential. If the show didn't completely destroy Elijah to redeem Klaus, we might have seen him be the best uncle out there.

Freya/ Rebekah and Hope. These aunt/niece relationships were so good. Rebekah cared for her for months, and kept her safe, and Freya raised her with Hayley and taught her so much.

Finding episodes that I genuinely love from beginning to end is difficult.

TO S2E9: The Map of Moments. We had family, we had bickering and we had love.

TVD S3E14: Dangerous Liaisons. We had a ball straight out from a fantasy, do I need to say more?

TO S1E20: A Closer Walk with Thee. It was not a happy episode, but we had our first Haylijah kiss, and it's good enough to be in my top 5.

TO S5E8 : The Kindness of Strangers. As much as I hated S5, but this episode was so good. We saw the Mikaelson family reunited, and every time I watch Elijah break down after remembering Hayley's death, I can't help but cry.

TO S1E1: Always and Forever. This feels like such a basic answer, but I love this episode. It was the beginning of an epic tv show, and it's just so nostalgic.

These are the ones you mentioned, and I can't for the life of me think about anything else to rank. Anyway, I am awkward most of the time, and it includes this answer. So, don't judge me too harshly!

if you could omit a storyline from the tvd show. which one would it be and why???

okay to complete this ask, i had to recall the main storylines from each season. this is what i produced. i will stick that below along with my decisions and thought processes.

also, i say it in the notes, but if this form of answering asks is too chaotic, i can switch back to the neat paragraph format i used in the avengers x kai post. i can cut out my gibberish and actually capitalize my sentences again 😅 just let me know which you prefer!

the seasons & their storylines

2 - stefan being a dick (+ wolves)

now... to judge them all and remove one...

alright… tbh, it took me way too long to remember the second villian of s7, because post-lily, my mind went blank

then it went, ah, yes, that stupid hunter storyline

and then i immediately selected that one bc i hated watching bonnie get abused again

this storyline was so stupid; the seven year time jump was so confusing

we were also given NO CONTEXT and MINOR HISTORY into bonnie and enzo's THREE YEAR RELATIONSHIP

like i love both these characters, but them together came out of nowhere

also… damon caring so little for enzo and vice versa in seasons 7 & 8 after all the history they had together PISSED ME OFF SO BAD, like they don't care for each other at all?? not even romantically, just platonic care / trauma bond, NOTHING?

anyway that's aside the point

i loved early season 7

nora, val, and mary louise were funny; matt being angry all the time was funny; bonnie and damon coming back from europe and immediately killing a heretic was funny

bonnie had so much sass in this season

but then plec had to drive her underground again with the magic pills & nearly killing her & all that shit

and i liked rayna, to some extent; she was pretty cool

but there was no reason to drag bonnie in the mix and make her kill her friends just because she took some stupid pills, just because some relative of enzo wanted her to open a vault

that st. john stuff was insanity; i still don't understand it

i don't think the characters did either; probably not the actors, either

i also don't like that the rayna storyline killed off nora and ML, like, let the lesbian heretics live, fuck off julie plec

and bonnie and nora should've had a fling but that's a different story

so yeah… the 7 years into the future storyline + hunters is the storyline i would erase

also… i don't know why caroline kept showing up with blood on her face and ranting about stefan, like, i was genuinely confused

it kept reminding me of season 2 when damon dated that newscaster but then stefan killed her.. or whatever happened...

anyway, let's take a look at a close contender… season 8 - donovans

why… the fuck… did the donovans have to have a family reunion?

i do not care about his dad, i do not care about his mom, i do not care about vicki, i don't care about matt, and i certainly don't care to see them all in one place

matt only survived bc zach and julie plec were hooking up i stg

this man and his whole family are weak links

the sirens didn't bother me all that much, compared to the donovans fucking existence

i actually liked seline, ish

season 4... i hated shane bc he was creepy, but i found it funny that bonnie was so into him. damon was so perturbed at this

tyler, i have so many mixed emotions; hayley, hated in tvd, liked in s1-2 of the orginals, didn't care for her later on; mason, nice to look at, don't care about him; jewel, or jade, idk, blonde girl that was looking for mason and found tyler, hated her; the random apperance of stephen amell… gtfo off my screen

wouldn't omit the wolves bc they had a point (ish) and grew the show, but i just don't care

not to say i don't like werewolves bc i fucking love the werewolves (cough twilight cough) but i don't care for the tvd wolves - the originals included, fuck off jackson

oh, i know i also made a post about wishing kai didn't kill jo so that alaric wouldn't have feelings for caroline, but i don't know if i fully stand by that post

as much as i wanted kai to have a redemption arc, him being a heretic was fun (while it lasted)

if they were dedicated towards keeping kai alive (therefore omiting his death storyline), he'd be a great time

i can see him and damon becoming buddies & being absolute menaces together

damon fights it sooo hard at first, but can't help wanting to dive into kai's bad influence

he makes vampirism feel like vampirism again… raising hell and not being afraid to be the bad guy

while simultaneously getting bad looks from all his friends and promising he's trying to be kai's good influence, but we all know he's not trying that hard

jo would survive and raise her twins with her creepy husband

she'd live in fear of kai coming after her kids any given day, but would try to ignore the thought

maybe they move away & free us from ric for good

but while this sounds really fun, i don't know where the story would go from there

kai would definitely get stuck under lily's control with the rest of the heretics & he'd have a big fucking fit about it

if enzo got with bonnie with kai still alive, that would be ugly

he would totally fuck a siren… and then help them kill the twins

but…

him killing jo & raising absolute hell was very fun & i loved it

his sudden return in s8, effectively pissing off damon & ric was hilarious

loved that he got back & immediately killed a grill employee

just like old times

i really wished they didn't kill him off, but i did like his pop-up later on

Kai Parker was such a fascinating villain and I think the writers did a great job with him.His arc was short but impactful.The writers wanted him to be a sociopath and never even bothered to woobify him.There was a void in the villain department once Klaus left and Katherine died.I would say Kai was able to fill that void to an extent. But the Parker family was so weird.They kept producing twins as fail-safe option just to ensure their coven always had a leader.I bet they were all pro-life fu**ers since they chose to use the body of an eternally 17 and emotionally 20 year old with zero concern about her agency just because they wanted to save the future of their coven!!!That's outrageous!

And then there were the siphoners turned heretics who were this very coven's(Gemini coven)outcasts!I think this is when writers failed miserably.The heretics not only failed to make an impact but the concept of the heretics was under-developed.As heretics,if they siphoned from their own blood,shouldn't they have dropped dead like flies?I mean remember when the twins siphoned from Caroline in their foetal state and Caroline almost died?In fact,Kai siphoned from Damon and he did sort of die in s8.And Kai was not even alive at the time!Even their backstory had so much ambiguity.According to Jo and Kai,they were coming to New York to avenge the Gemini coven but the coven got to them first.But according to s7,they were running from Rayna!If Jo and Kai knew so much about the heretics they should have known about Rayna Cruz too and warned the others!The whole thing was such a ridiculous mess honestly.I don't think the writers knew what they wanted to do with them.Were they the good guys or the bad guys?Why were they on my screen all the time taking away precious time from Caroline and Bonnie?Neither did the heretics like each other nor did anyone like them.Oscar was the only interesting one among them but he was killed off in just 1 episode!WHY? Instead, we had to sit through Walmart Quetsiyah-Katherine-Lexi-Elena-Caroline's ( you know which one) theatrics for months in a row.I think the writers did a poor job with Rayna too.She had an interesting backstory but then I never understood her MO.No offense she seemed like an underpaid influencer trying to advertise for Defan ! "You only wanted Damon" Brand new information!😴

I agree. Kai was one of the best villains on the show. He ranks up there with Katherine, Elijah, and Klaus. Like you, I appreciated that they didn’t give him some sad origin story – he was just a sociopath. It was a breath of fresh air. While I love complex villains and anti-villains, a story grows boring if the villains are too similar.

I hardly remember the siphoners/heretics storyline tbh. Except for Kai and Lily Salvatore, the antagonists in the later seasons weren’t compelling enough for me to take note of them. The villains felt repetitive (Valerie) or flat (the coven). It made Kai stand out all the more I suppose.

I have a question regarding Rayna Cruz (tvd series 7)

If she had been around killing the meanest, baddest vampires for 200 years. How did Katherine never end up on the other end of that sword? or even discuss having her as an enemy?

I'll be honest that whole story line was annoying, but as I was watching it, it was just something that sprung to mind.

Klaus was another one that confused me too, but I spoke to a friend and she said maybe as he was an original it was different, but she couldn't answer me in regards to Katherine so I thought i'd see if anyone had an opinion, or if this is just one of many p.lecholes.

I understand seeing this and then having him regress (again and again) for a season and a half to his ultimate end would be frustrating for someone that loves Stefan and wants him free of Damon and happy... but this was often accompanied by (questionably sincere?) instance that it MADE NO SENSE for Stefan to regress at all.

putting aside my personal preference for cynicism, for tragedy, for ~~reverse growth~~, for inescapable cycles, etc. etc... when have you guys ever known Stefan to learn his lessons lol.

— Descendiente del Círculo de Aqueménida, un grupo de banshees pertenecientes a Irán y cuyos orígenes se remontan al Imperio Persa. Sin embargo, y al contrario que Judit, Rachel no se siente devota a la causa.

— Desciende directamente la banshee Anahita, antaño desterrada, mas recordada como heroína por las suyas tras orquestar la muerte y transformación en vampiro de Zahra. Por desgracia, el Círculo de Aqueménida no gozaba de la potestad para romper la condena de Anahita y su descendencia, desterradas por el resto de la eternidad lejos del Círculo y su templo.

— Debido a esta circunstancia, Rachel disfrutó de una infancia y juventud donde se le permitió ignorar sus orígenes. Sin embargo, con la noticia de su verdadera naturaleza tras verse expuesta a una situación cercana a la muerte, se le hizo saber que su familia y descendencia podrían volver al Círculo si cumplía con una última misión: exterminar a Zahra para siempre.

— En debate entre lo que es justo, lo que es correcto, y lo que ella desea, ha sido enviada junto a Judit con una nueva identidad, para unirse a Báthory y traicionarla en el momento oportuno. Un último acto heroico podría liberar a su linaje, pero la realidad es que Rachel no comparte el odio de las suyas hacia Zahra. Llegado el momento, ¿cumplirá su deber o se aliará al enemigo? Y, lo que es más importante: habiendo decidido por sí misma su propio destino, ¿Judit será capaz de delatarla?

PALAS ATENEA [REINAS]

RAZA: Nogitsune. EDAD: De 30 a 40 años. (Aparentes) ESTATUS: LIBRE

— Una mujer conocida y recordada por su gran sabiduría. Palas Atenea simboliza todo lo bueno, y a su vez, todo lo malo de ser una nogitsune: su lealtad y sus consejos no han de ser pasados por alto, pero a menudo ofrece aquellos de forma ambigua, entre medias verdades y acertijos, o peor: a cambio de un precio.

— Años atrás, encontró a cuatro muchachas hermanas y huérfanas, a quienes decidió adoptar como suyas, transformándolas, eso sí, en bastets. Su favorita fue siempre Argine, su más estimada y protegida. Eventualmente, las tres hermanas de Argine corrieron un riesgo fatal, siendo atrapadas por brujos. La realidad es que Palas pudo tener oportunidad de salvarlas la vida, pero Argine fue su prioridad. Nunca le ha revelado la verdad.

— Su mayor miedo es el de ser hallada por un kitsune celestial que la obligue a abandonar su cuerpo, razón por la que siempre le ha temido a la idea de estar sola, y por ende, desprotegida. Oír hablar de Erzsebét Báthory, de sus intenciones, y sobre todo de su poder, convenció a Palas de unirse a aquella, siendo siempre acompañada por su leal Argine.

— Dadas su sabiduría y conocimientos, a pesar de no llevar demasiado tiempo al servicio de la Condesa Sangrienta, esta suele escucharla. Ambas mujeres tienen un humor muy retorcido, de ahí que resulten bastante afines. Podría decirse que están próximas a convertirse en buenas amigas.

— Erzsebét no es la única que la escucha. La indomable e intrépida Argine no lleva tan bien como ella la sumisión a la autoridad, pero la bastet siempre se muestra dispuesta a escucharla y a detenerse en sus impulsivos propósitos si así Palas se lo ordena.

— Por la edad asignada, este nogitsune tendrá derecho a disponer de siete a nueve colas, en función de la edad final seleccionada. Además, dada la naturaleza de la raza, el PB ha de tener ascendencia asiática.

ARGINE [REINAS]

RAZA: Bastet. EDAD: Dee 20 a 30 años. ESTATUS: LIBRE

— Al igual que una de las cuatro antífonas, Argine o Regina pertenecía a una familia con cuatro hermanas, todas ellas convertidas en bastet por la misma nogitsune: Palas Atenea. Desgraciadamente, todas las hermanas de Regina fueron atrapadas por brujos radicales y asesinadas brutalmente. Tiene entendido que aquella caza la dirigió un hombre, de nombre @UTHER R. MORNINGSTAR, quien vendiera a sus hermanas por piezas en su casa de subastas.

— Habiendo oído de una mujer con la intención de romper la rueda y derrocar el orden impuesto por el equilibrio natural, Argine no dudó en unirse a ella. Devota a la Condesa Sangrienta siguiendo sus propios deseos de venganza, cumple con las órdenes impuestas, si bien sigue mostrando problemas para obedecer a la autoridad. Rara vez escucha imposiciones o consejos si no provienen de Palas, a quien estima como a su familia.

— En las filas de Báthory, hizo buenas migas con una bastet de nombre @J. SABINE THAWNE, o "Silver", como se suele apodar. Lo cierto es que le recordaba a una de sus hermanas mayores, pícara y resuelta, razón por la que se sintió muy afín a ella desde el principio. Desgraciadamente, Silver fue asesinada por el híbrido original, @NIKLAUS MIKAELSON, un crimen que Argine no está dispuesta a dejar impune.

— Junto a Julio César y David, es uno de los mejores contactos de Báthory en Nueva Orleans, visitando la ciudad con regularidad, puesto que sus mayores enemigos se encuentran en dicha ciudad. Ha oído que @UTHER R. MORNINGSTAR se ha convertido en líder de Nueva Orleans, y además, que la familia Mikaelson sigue rondando la zona. Si hay alguna manera en la que pueda cobrarse ambas venganzas y ver a ambos caer de su preciado trono, no perderá ninguna oportunidad.

LA HIRE [JOTAS]

RAZA: Cazador/a (Próximamente mejorado/a). EDAD: +25 años. ESTATUS: LIBRE.

— La ira de Dios en la Tierra. Alguien incontrolable, difícil de dominar y sometido (o sometida) plenamente a sus más bajos impulsos de guerra. La Hire es un miembro de la Iniciativa con un potencial nada desdeñable, si bien su carácter le ha ganado innumerables castigos y amonestaciones de parte de los suyos, convirtiéndose en el rebelde sin causa del grupo.

— Se ha ganado especialmente la enemistad y rivalidad de Héctor (@SETH D'SOUSA), porque es su total antítesis: mientras Héctor es el cazador predilecto de la Condesa, y alguien que sigue fiel y lealmente cada una de las órdenes de su señora, La Hire cuestiona a la autoridad, sigue las reglas con dificultades, y está muy lejos de ser un ejemplo a seguir.

— ¿Que por qué sigue siendo una Jota después de todo? Porque la Condesa así lo ha ordenado. Por alguna razón, ha conseguido caerle en gracia. Puede que sepa ver más allá de su carácter y sus acciones superficiales, o puede que... incluso, le recuerde un poco a ella. Sea como fuere, parece haberse ganado su favor, aunque quién sabe por cuánto tiempo. ¿Estirará la cuerda hasta que parta?

— El enemigo de Carlomagno durante años que, por circunstancias y ante un enemigo común, hubo de firmar la paz. De origen italiano, Ogier tuvo una hermana mayor que resultó ser asesinada por Carlomagno (@ARES T. COSTA). Su brutal asesinato le obsesionó al punto de descubrir la existencia del mundo sobrenatural, proponiéndose encontrar al asesino y matarlo.

— Conocido entonces como el Jack Destripador de Hungría, habría logrado dar con él de no ser porque Carlomagno recibió la ayuda inesperada de un vampiro (@MAEVE R. MORGANACH), quien le ayudase a abandonar el país. Durante años, se obsesionó con la idea de encontrarlo para saciar su sed de venganza... ¡Qué ironía que ambos terminasen en el mismo bando!

— Y es que Erzsebét reconoció el potencial de Ogier y le propuso unirse a la Iniciativa como una de sus Jotas, topándose con la sorpresa de terminar trabajando en el mismo lado que Carlomagno. Todavía no ha logrado olvidar lo que @ARES T. COSTA le hizo a su hermana, pero por ahora, han pactado una tregua en beneficio de su aliada común: la Condesa Sangrienta. Una tregua inestable, todo sea dicho. ¿Hasta cuándo logrará dominar sus instintos antes de ir a por él? O aún más: ¿a por la vampiresa que le ayudase en el pasado?

RAZA: Cazador/a (Próximamente mejorado/a). EDAD: +25 años. ESTATUS: LIBRE.

— Aquel que traicionó a los suyos por amor... pero, ¿mereció realmente la pena? Con sus orígenes en una familia de cazadores, estuvieron acechando desde hace generaciones a los vampiros del clan de @A. MARENA DARVOLYA. Nada pudo prever que acabaría prendado (o prendada) de una de ellos: la indómita @TATJANA E. MAJOROVA.

— Su affair no pasó desapercibido para los suyos, quienes de inmediato le desterraron por traidor. ¿Fue en vano? En absoluto: su capacidad para defender sus convicciones y aquello en lo que creía, aun yendo contra los ideales con los que se criara, llamaron poderosamente la atención de Erzsebét Báthory, convirtiéndose así en una de sus Jotas.

— No se arrepiente de haberse unido a la Condesa Sangrienta, pero aún no tiene claro de haberlo hecho por los motivos correctos. La realidad es que Tatjana es una mujer caprichosa y cruel, que no correspondió sus sentimientos ni su devoción. Le profesa un gran rencor, pues si bien tomó sus propias decisiones de forma autónoma, fue repudiado (o repudiada) por completo de toda su familia... por su culpa. Y es algo que aún a día de hoy, le pesa.

— Sus orígenes asimismo le han ganado la enemistad de muchos cercanos a la Condesa, y especialmente, del resto de miembros del Clan de Darvolya, quienes siguen sin fiarse de él (o ella). De algún modo, se siente en "tierra de nadie", pues no termina de sentirse aceptado entre los miembros de su nuevo bando, y sabe que no puede volver con los cazadores de su pasado. ¿Logrará finalmente ganarse la lealtad y el respeto de su "nueva familia"? ¿O está condenado a ser para siempre un paria?
