I was today years old when I realized that my mom's suicide may have been (at least partially) motivated by the Y2K panic (she off'd herself like a few days before 2000). She was bipolar and a little on the fucking crazy side when it came to conspiracy theories. Super into astrology, crystals, fairies and apparently she thought Jesus was an alien. Looking back, I can see how she was one of those people who is just super ready to believe in the supernatural/alien shenanigans. And for those who remember pre-2000 times, Y2K was kind of a big fuckin deal.

So with that in mind... Is it bad that I'm a little offended that she didn't try to off my brothers and me too? Y'know, do a little 'mentally-ill-mother-on-child homicide'? Pack us all in the car and drive us into the Gulf after dosing our ice creams with a few benadryl?

Like. You thought the world was ending, and have decided to opt out of the struggle of living through the End of Days or whatever... That's totally fine! Shit, suicide is my go-to plan for if the end of the world were to ACTUALLY happen!

But you're going to let your kids go through that? You really thought we were more well equipped to deal with the end of the world than you?

hey guys,, who wants to see this new dsmp au i've thought up of instead of working on my other countless, already existing aus.

still trying to come up with a proper name for it,,, right now the working title is shattered reflections...? buuuut i'm not too content with that yet.

the basic plot is, via ~wacky shenanigans~,, ranboo, tommy, and tubbo,, all from different universes,, end up getting misplaced together in the multiverse or something like that, and now have to hop from dimension to dimension, trying to find their way back to their respective homes(and maybe they'll find that the real home was the friends they made along the way).

still need to iron out a few kinks(how did this start, how do they travel, how does it end, etc etc),, but like. it's been rotting in my brain ever since the idea first came to my head, so i figured i might as well share it here? in case anyone else's interested,, dkdnsksms.

ranboo's from a magical girl-like au!!! why? mostly because i thought the idea was fun,, ekenkssjks. tried my best to emulate an anime style into the design, 'm hoping it came across? i've been imagining, if this au were animated like spiderverse,, they'd look a lot like how peni parker was animated,, dkdmskdm. you'll never guess what his magical girl form is themed on /lh.

tommy, as you can prolly tell, is from a royalty au! youngest prince of the antarctic empire,,, design is slightly based on some fanart i saw on reddit, by someone called em0kii, i believe? i say slightly because i only thought to search up "antarctic empire fanart" for inspo after i was done with the lineart,, and by that time it was too late for me to change it to something that better fit the cold environment the kingdom's based on(and by too late i mostly mean i was lazy),,, dkdjskj. still, though, i'm pretty happy with it!

and then there's tubbo! he's from a post-apocalyptic au B]. not one with zombies,, but... idk, maybe something exploded? haven't thought too hard about the cause, but just know that his world is in a not good shape. i'm sure it's fine tho. my main thoughts when drawing him were to make him less colorful and saturated than the other two,, since his universe is a bit darker than theirs,,,, and to make him look a little intimidating(big coat, goggles, scarf, lots of sharp edges, plaid). after all, if you're a 5' something teen in the apocalypse, living all on your own– you wanna try and make yourself look as big as possible to try and ward off as many threats as you can. and if that doesn't work, you can always just hit 'em with a bat.

Both protagonists’ fathers died in pursuit of the hidden/lost kingdoms, effectively passing the search on to their sons. Both feature single or dual-person airships. Both princesses are sought by the army for a power tied to their magical crystal necklaces. Both protagonists are accompanied by ragtag teams (who previously also were going to kidnap the princess!) to rescue the princesses. There are large robots that protect the lost empires. Both lost empires are capable of incredible destruction. Both princesses go by nicknames that nearly rhyme, and both also have complicated longer names. Both lost empires used to possess incredible advanced technology which has since been lost. The bad guys kidnap the princess and bring her into a secret chamber far below the city that only royalty can unlock, said to contain the lost power of the lost city.

Feeling spicy but the post is going around again so Im going to say this on main. Installing an extension to autogenerate fic comments is so stupid. Just leaving kudos is fine if you don't have anything to say. Why would I want to read a comment you put absolutely no thought into. At least type "cool fic I liked it" with your own hands or something.

Like not like anyone would know, necessarily, but the idea of it is so dumb to me. I genuinely don't understand the culture around AO3 comments being seen as a social expection of reading a fic and not like... something you do when you actually have something to say and want to interact with the author about it.

One of my biggest Only Friends grievances that I did not actually post about much is how sad I was that we didn’t get the cynical and jaded, done with your shit, baseball bat-wielding version of Sand. I was so excited for that guy but he evaporated off my screen in favor of a people pleasing simp who sees himself as an actual dog begging for scraps of affection. Truly a sad turn of events that I’m still low key mad about.

I don't like fandom discourse especially since there's more important problems in the world but I, as an aroace person, would just like to put in my 2 cents regarding Alastor being shipped with other characters. And a lot of aros that are anti-shipping-Alastor might not want to hear this, but there is literally nothing you can do about Alastor being shipped with other characters in the show. I'm sorry, but you can't police people into having one character be off limits. I personally, don't really like any ships that include Alastor, I would much rather have him be single in the content I see of him, and his closest thing to any sort of partner being Rosie (and not even a romantic one at that), but I absolutely do not condemn anyone that does like to ship him romantically. And I certainly don't make passive aggressive posts about the artists, writers, and creators that do, saying that they aren't allowed to make that content. "Well how would you feel if Angel was shipped with Vaggie?" Honestly? The same way. I simply would not care. I wouldn't like it, but I know that at the end of the day there is quite literally nothing to be done about it. You're fighting a loosing battle if you're on the internet trying to convince people to not ship certain things because of what canon dictates.

I do think it's disrespectful and disregarding aroace people when shippers say "well aroace people can date" because most of us really would rather not, but like you guys need to remember that this isn't real. None of it is real.
