okay so. i'm gonna discuss my thoughts about them n shit, putting under a readmore bc it's gonna get long and rambley. sorry in advance for the shit formatting, i'm on mobile </3

just some general shit about how i would rewrite it. i think the premise of redeeming sinners is entertaining but is executed horribly. i also am a fan of the "heaven isn't great either" idea but again, executed horribly. i'd make the hierarchy of angels more accurate because it's cool as hell and i have autism about it. the characters from hell would swear still (albeit not as much), but the angels would outright refuse to swear or make vulgar jokes ever. this would be partially to further the gap between heaven and hell and make the differences more stark.

hell would also be more like dante's inferno (again because i think its cool). the ars goetia would get a full redesign and would be more prevalent in demonic society.

now for the characters!

VAGGIE VALTIEL:

starting off with vaggie, or Valtiel as i've renamed her because let's be honest her original name sucks. Valtiel (Val for short) was an aspiring power angel who wanted to be an exorcist. she looked up to lute and thought the idea of killing demons was really cool and badass. however when she actually was on the field for the first time she discovered how awful this actually was. she tried to help a few demons but lute figured it out and felled her right then and there. the rest of her story is relatively the same. personality wise she's more stoic and less prone to all-out aggression. she still get angry, sure, but it's in a quieter and more menacing way. you DO NOT want to fuck with Valtiel.

CHARLIE:

next up is charlie! i had two ideas for her. the first one (unsettling drawing) has her as a mannequin/doll type demon. lucifer and/or lilith was unable to conceive and as such they built a kid from scratch. she's overall similar to og charlie personality wise, very kind and cheerful despite her unsettling appearance. she struggles with empathy sometimes but really does mean well. her motive for rehabilitating sinners is so they get to see their family again. being able to see heaven from where they are in hell must make them sad, so she wants to help make them happy again!

the second idea for charlie has her as an angel. specifically i casted her as a dominion angel due to their reputation as holy judges. she was once a demon but has been rehabilitated and has risen into angelhood! she now wants to help her former kin do the same and redeem themselves in heaven's gaze. again, similar cheery personality, but a bit more prudish in this rendition

tangent time!

as a side tangent, valtiel and charlie would have a different relationship in this rewrite. their relationship felt shoehorned in in the original show, like it was just there for the hell of it. we didn't see much development between them and it just felt kinda bland. so in my rewrite, charlie and valtiel are amiable exes. they tried dating when valtiel first fell (when charlie was still a demon in the charlie-angel version) but realized their feelings for each other were much more platonic than romantic. they ended things off on good terms, deciding they were much better as friends. they are still besties to this day! later charlie ends up with emily (or 'ellie' as i plan to rename her)

Alastor:

note: i made alastor mixed-race, which could be seen as bad by some due to vivzie saying he's black. however, as many have pointed out, he has no ethnic features whatsoever and i honestly wouldn't be surprised if she said that just to get away with using voodoo symbols (a closed religion) in his imagery/design. like viv, i am incredibly white and have little to no knowledge of voodoo, and even if i did i would not use it for something like this anyways due to the stigma the religion already has and (again) it being a closed practice. as such i removed it from his concept altogether, but made him mixed race (white passing) because.. why not i guess, i forgor my actual reasoning

with that being said...

alastor is by far my favorite of the redesigns and i'm honestly tempted to turn him into a legally distinct oc. i imagine he's somewhat reserved, along the lines of norman bates albeit a bit more extroverted. during his life he was a serial killer with a day job as a radio announcer. he took pleasure in reporting about his own murders on the radio, but that is eventually what got him caught (ie accidentally letting slip info that wasn't released to the public). as a result he was sentenced to death. upon arriving in hell, he quickly rose through the ranks to borderline overlord status and is a feared presence by demons and sinners alike. why is he bothering to assist in the hotel project? who knows... his motives are a mystery, like the rest of what he does

(he isn't actually alastair crowley i just thought the naming convention was ironic. however he may have also dabbled with satanic magic in lifetime..)

Angel Dust:

TW: brief discussion of SA

this is definitely my second favorite redesign. i loooove insect themes and wanted to do more than just Extra Arms, so he now has fucked up legs and a lot of eyes too! story-wise, angel used to be a criminal mastermind, hated by both the mafia and the feds. he was a gentleman thief, arranging massive heists under the cover of night while also partaking in the occasional drag show. he ended up a cocaine addict later in life, which caused his work to become sloppier. eventually he was killed in a heist gone wrong, specifically shot by the police.

i'm not gonna go too in-depth on the SA part of his story, but he is hypersexual due to being assaulted in both his life and afterlife. it would be something he'd be working on in the rewrite. his reason for coming to the hotel in the first place may have even been for help with this trauma. underneath his sultry exterior is a broken guy who really just needs someone to care about him for who he really is and not for what his body can do.

LUTE:

so lute and adam are some of the characters i have the most gripes about. the biggest one being why viv chose adam as the leader of the exorcists in the first place. if she wants a biblical figure tied to demon killing, Archangel Michael is RIGHT THERE, aka the one destined to kill satan during the events of Revelations. if she wants the first human to die, that would be Abel, not Adam. and i kinda doubt abel would want to do the stuff that HH!adam has been doing. if she wants an angel related to torture, Dumah is her guy! an angel that rules over wicked souls and tortures sinners every day except sabbath. so many better options...

with that out of the way, Lute is still the lieutenant of the exorcist, who are a specially chosen group of powers sent to purge hell once a year. think navy seals. she's pretty much the same as in the show, albeit more muscular and visually different from other exorcists (seriously why do they all look exactly the same?????) she's a very repressed lesbian who hasn't had time to work on that due to her duties

i also redesigned the exorcist uniform/armor because those LED purge masks are fugly as hell and their clothes don't even look remotely like armor.

Adam + Final Thoughts

i did start a redesign of adam but got bored of it. regardless, i think he'd be the head of C.H.E.R.U.B. instead of the exorcists. he doesn't want his children to make the same mistakes he and eve did, so together they started C.H.E.R.U.B. to help lost souls stay out of hell

final thoughts uhhhh i'm tired. show sucks, it had so much potential but viv ruined it by being a shitty writer and an even shittier person. the designs are fine i guess but they all look exactly the same and are in desperate need of variety. the humor is dogshit, saying dick and balls and penis over and over and over again doesn't make it any funnier than the first three times you made that joke. anyways that's it, i hope you liked my inane ramblings. gonna go vanish for another forty years or so, adios

The son of the Prince of Jianxing, who betrays the empire out of cowardice, that must survive when his entire family is to be killed for treason. There’s actually a scene at the beginning of him losing his brother in a battle and (I believe) returning to realize his father has run away

Gu Mang from Stains of Filth / Yuwu

Submission: He’s my little guy

He’s the tragic ML who betrayed the MC while also being the biggest fucking clown / the comedic relief

He truly believes he’s a fucking wolf at one point. 

Essentially, Gu Mang was a slave in Murong Lian’s household, which led him to meet the MC, Mo Xi, who is a noble of similar standing to the Murong clan. He eventually becomes the General-in-Chief of the Wangba Army (later renamed to the Northern Frontier Army bc it was a funny name) and fights for the Chonghua Empire. However, since the Wangba Army was made of slaves, not a single of his fellow soldiers were given a proper burial, which - along with other reasons - led to Gu Mang defecting to an enemy nation (that also killed Mo Xi’s father and may or may not be cannibals).  

The story begins when said enemy nation trades Gu Mang back to Chonghua as a prisoner of war with parts of his soul gone, causing him to believe he’s a majestic blue wolf. The summary is a tiny bit misleading, albeit not wrong - “they’ve slept together before” is actually more “they slept together multiple times while Mo Xi, at the very least, is incredibly in love with Gu Mang.”  

Gu Mang’s also pretty funny, even with his memories gone, albeit the inherent tragedy is overwhelming. Idc what “evils” he committed… the Lotus Pavilion thing or whatever was fucked up. The author is so brutal to him, and for what? Funsies? (<--mainly joking, but it’s a SAD story… I’ve cried so many times) 

Anyway, Gu Mang Did Not Deserve This 2023 

Yan Zhengming from Liu Yao: the Revitalization of Fuyao Sect

Apparently has a fantastic character development into the Sect Leader (I’m not that far), but he’s also just a pretty princess <2

He’s the eldest disciple of Han Muchun / Fuyao Sect who was born into a rich family. He ran away at age seven and became Han Muchun’s first apprentice/disciple. He’s similar to a spoiled young master character, but he doesn’t really bully anyone; he may try to bully/clash with Cheng Qian, but I don’t think he wins (been a while since I started it - he’s like 15, and Cheng Qian is ~9-10 at this point)

funny weird fursona from ages past hours while i wanna take this opportunity to share my art, i kinda also wanna reach out to everybody who had cringy neon old fursonas and oc's that they're embarrassed of or feel like they need to shittalk every time they mention them bc "theyre totally better at making characters now i swear!" this is my fursona splash. i've changed sonas a few times, but none of them will be as important to me as her. she's not there yet, but next year in february, on my birthday, she will be 9 years old. i made her feb 22nd of 2015, my 9th birthday. i stopped using her eventually, because i thought i'd grown out of her. i used to show her to people and laugh about how stereotypical of a mary sue she was, how she had a demon AND angel form, how i'd ship her with characters from whatever media i was interested in at the time, how she had super secret sparkle powers that could do anything and how she's "not me anymore" then i remembered how crushed i felt when my friends at the time first started calling her one. i was knee deep at that point in thinking mary sues were dumb, and felt really bad about it when a friend said she was a huge mary sue and how i should probably change her. they even got mad when i said i didnt want to and told me i "couldn't take criticism". ive tried so hard over the years to distance myself from her while trying not to be too hard on her, to enjoy her in an "ironic, more experienced way" and regard her as what NOT to do.

this is the first ever drawing i did of her. another oc of mine turns 9 on my bday, and ill do art of her too, but this is where i made her. she was a drawing of firestar that i got bored drawing and decided to slap some neons on from the ms paint advanced preset colors. as you can see, she hasn't really changed much. her name used to be colordrop, because i had a stuffed bunny around that time with the same name. i think i renamed her to splash because i liked splashkittyartist. is the art good? no. did i really care? not really! i didnt even know it was bad at the time, because it honestly wasn't. i just wasn't as far in my art journey as i am now. im glad i never deleted my deviantart account, and i plan at some point to go through and save the images that are important to me on a google drive of some kind. aslong as im able to remember and keep her, she's an important part of myself. she's still me, just from a different time, and also so much more than that. im not sad about her, not in a nostalgic "i wish i could go back way". im happy, if anything, because i only recently realized we shared a birthday. isn't that cool? to not only have an oc that was made on your birthday, but reaches milestones with you? when she turns 18, i'll be 27. when she's 27, i'll be 36. i think that's pretty neat. i think it's important for every artist, if they struggle with this, to look for their old oc's and fursonas and whatnot from when they were kids and instead of looking at them through a lens of "im better now, do you see how bad i used to be at this whole character making thing though? its funny.", instead be kind to your old creations and go "wow, i had alot of fun with you. i wonder if i can have even more." if you're able to, start using them again. write with them again, even if its small and silly and more out of whimsy and joy than actual plot development. i implore you to be kinder to kid you. even if kid you wasn't very kind themselves. if you would look at another kids drawing and oc and go "wow thats amazing! you're so creative!", then you should regard what you made then with the same enthusiasm. put your own work on the fridge if nobody else did. anyways, ramble over. i'm very passionate about this subject because i lived it, and i deeply enjoy reclaiming what i was made to feel embarrassed of. so moon darkraven, demon wolf with an anime scythe and scene bangs and red eyes and neon colors that don't mix, i think you're doing great. i hope you're doing well, wherever you are now, and that so is the person who made you. happy early birthday to me and my special little gal

I actually find it absolutely adorable how Green stans made a whole scenario in which Daenaera doesn’t exist and the Blackfyres come from the Greens’ line to usurp Rhaenyra’s line again lmao we all need that kind of coping in our lives sometimes. That and the House Whent one.

I mean, I know none of them read ASOIAF and F&B but do they know that BOTH Daeron II and Daemon Blackfyre are Daemyra’s great grandsons ??? That Daemon Blackfyre was named after Rhaenyra’s husband, the man who hired Blood & Cheese to murder one of the brothers of Jaehaera, meaning that it’s impossible for Jaehaera to be Daena’s mother ?

The new "Daemon Blackfyre" would still have Rhaenyra's blood in him if Jaehaera were the one to birth him?!

The point of Jaehaera marrying Aegon was to COMBINE the two lines, Rhaenyra's & Aegon II's?!!!

Wouldn't the new "Daemon Blackfyre" just be usurping his trueborn cousin/brother?!

Let's say that these people are considering their options and realize that even Daena herself maybe gets her name from "Daemon"--Aegon III's father--if not from Daenaera, thus maybe removing Daemon's legacy in their fanfic. I'm guessing that they have renamed her to something else closer to Jaehaera. (This would have to happen for Daena to be Jaehaera's daughter and not Daenaera.) Or who knows, maybe they haven't. Unwisely.

For there to be a separate "Jaehaera's line" from Aegon's for the new "Blackfyres", she'd have to not marry Aegon at all, bc the Blackfyres came from a bastard! Daemon Blackfyre's actions and how it goes down b/t him & Daeron II is bc he is a bastard. And if Jaehaera does have this new "Daemon Blackfyre" through marriage to Aegon III, the above large-font sentences will still apply.

But back to the new-Daemon B. still being a bastard in their fanfics. Wouldn't this new Daemon Blackfyre's existence still require Aegon III to have new-Daena marry Aegon IV or Aemond the Dragonkight (Viserys' sons) so she could birth a "trueborn" Daemon Blackfyre (thus he's no longer a "Blackfyre" at all but a "Targaryen" so that storyline is now ruined & the meaning concerning gender, pseudo-absolute monarchy in the hands of abusive people, might vs right etc. that it brought to the canon ASoIaF universe is also lost)...

It's okay to create fanfics out of the canon with what you wish had happened or what you would have changed to make it coherent or more engaging, I think. But once you start making claims that the thematic reason for the story/characters ending up the way they do is "stupid" or "amoral" when really you want the villains to be the good guys when they never were and you refused to accept that from the jump, then there are issues of bad faith. You don't like the story for what it is and that is why you think GRRM is making amoral plot decisions when he isn't.

You just reveal yourself to not agree with the core principles--cosmic or ethical or whatever--that GRRM is basing his entire series on. Even this, in a fanfic context, also could have been fine if you hadn't just been prejudiced in your opposition by imagining a world where the women actually have less agency than they actually do in GRRM's original story! And as long as you consistently acknowledge the canon as separate from your own fanons and fanfics.

Because believing that Jaehaera should have continued to be Queen for her sake--birth heirs, and live with the same people who either hated or were indifferent enough to her dead family to take advantage of her is good for her mental well-being--is to lie. Even if she hadn't been mentally disabled already. Not to mention I'm sure Daena is not her fierce independent self in these fanfics, to make way for the males to shine. And it's presented as righteous or "necessary" unironically & uncritically.

A/N: I am reposting this bcs for whatever reason it wasn't showing in the tags 😭😭(I've been working hard on this fanfic for it to not show on the tags ok? 😩) The original character's name is John Jonah Jameson, I renamed him Jonathan for Parallel Universe sake. Many other characters however, keep their original name like Ned, Aaron and Miles.

Summary: As you try to deal with your growing crush on Peter and let things happen on their own, you find yourself asking Aaron Davis for a favor. Peter on the other hand, has been frequenting your workplace for various reasons, as he realizes how much he misses having someone there for him. After a blog entry in MJ's website, Peter remembers what he'd been trying to do in the first place since returning from that odd multiverse event and tries to contact MJ the way he knows best.

As it was your usual routine, you waited for Andy and Kylie to finish their shifts and helped them close The Coffee Pot to later head to your apartment. Talking back and forth, you walked a couple of streets to the south. Andy was talking about some guy he’d met last week at a party, and how he was planning on seeing him soon. Not that you didn’t care about Andy’s life, but you were still trying to go over the current writing slump you were dealing with. For both your novel and MJ’s blog. Something in your mind simply refused to make words sound nice and professional.

Perhaps it was the conversation you’d had with Peter Parker, as you were still panicking on the matter. After Peter left, you whined about it to Andy. And Kylie overheard the situation from the kitchen. As you’d thought asking Miles’s uncle Aaron for help, Kylie suggested having Aaron himself teach Peter directly how to free lance instead of you.

As you reached your apartment, on the top of a small building, on the 8th floor, you walked into a rather loud apartment. As you usually arrived to a dark and silent apartment, sometimes Miles would already be home, already in his room. But this was one of those rare occasions in which he was out of his room and had his music playing on the small amp Andy owned.

The apartment used to belong to Miles’s grandparents, and after turning 18, his father and uncle Aaron decided to give it to Miles. Miles grabbed a handful of close friends and brought them to live with him. You still had to pay rent, but, to be frank, Miles could be asking for a lot more money than he actually did. Not the fanciest apartment, but it had everything you needed. One and a half bathrooms, and the entire thing was one big and wide room, except for the DIY walls you’d built yourselves to divide the rooms. The kitchen was in a corner, while the rest of the apartment was full of all sorts of trails that screamed frustrated artist. Your desk with a printer, and a bookcase stacked with books and prints. Miles’s spray paint cans, buckets, brushes of all sizes and shapes, and canvases. Another smaller desk with all of his sketches chaotically scattered. And another wide space with a mirror, more stacks of books and printed scripts, where Kylie would rehearse for auditions, or where Andy would practice choreographies.

The apartment wasn’t named The Gallery for nothing. Every single one of the people living there was a form of a frustrated artist. And within the walls of The Gallery, you were all free to express your artistic selves. Aside from Lauen, the only people who knew about MJ were your roommates and Aaron, since he helped you start your freelancing career.

Speaking of Aaron Davis, you thought it was too suspicious of a coincidence that he was there by the time you arrived. He was having a beer in the living room with Miles as they both laughed and chatted, music in the background and barely any lights lit as they were sitting in front of the picture window. Perhaps not the best sight, but it was still a good sight to have.

“Oh, look, Daddy Aaron is here” Andy said with his thick English accent showing, as he walked to his room, throwing his backpack inside.

Aaron heard his name and turned around, waving his hand as you left your things by the door and sprinted towards the couch. You sat on the couch and dramatically hugged him as you whined.

“Aaron!” You cried, making him chuckle, accustomed to your antiques as he'd pretty much seen you grow just like he'd seen Miles.

“Hey, what’s up, kiddo? Yo, what's wrong?” He asked, knowing something was up, although nothing really bad, since you wouldn't be reacting this way.

“Everything! I was going to text you, but you’re here” You said breaking the hug.

“I’m one step ahead, Loon. What’s up?” He said laying back on the backrest as he clicked his tongue and waved at Kylie and Andy as they both got to the living room, sitting on the couch next to where you were.

“I need a huge favor” You began.

“Sure thing, you’re like family, you know that” He reassured you.

“Can you help teach a friend how to do freelance?” You spat nervously as you could kinda imagine what he was going to reply to you.

Aaron looked at you and raised an eyebrow as he chuckled softly.

“You serious?” He said with his smirk leaning towards one side of his face, however, it soon went away as your stare remained worried and straight. “Don’t you know how to do that yourself?”

“Yes, but if I do it, he’s gonna find out I’m MJ” You whined as Andy and Kylie chuckled, their amusement permeating to Aaron as he rested a hand on your shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze.

“Oh come on, just from teaching him how to do freelance?” He chimed.

“He’s smart” You added as Miles started choking on his canned soda.

“Yo, wait,” He spat as he left his can on the coffee table and leaned over, resting his hands on his knees “You talkin’ about the Identity Hound you told me about a few days ago?” Miles asked, confused as he quickly put two and two together, not at all surprised by how fast Miles did the maths.

“Yeah” You croaked and looked away from Miles.

“Dude, what the hell?” Miles scoffed and rolled his eyes.

“Listen, he’s…some guy who went to school with me, but as of lately we’ve been talking a lot…” You tried defending yourself but found yourself nervously stuttering your words as all 20 thoughts in your head tried to come out at once.

“You gave him your number yesterday” Kylie sang as you gave her a death glare, Aaron exploding in laughter as you heard Miles gasping dramatically.

Kylie was “distracted” by her nails as Andy chuckled softly looking at you with wide accusing eyes as if thinking ‘someone is in trouble~’ and you could almost hear Andy’s cheeky voice from just his green eyes.

“This is why people call you a lunatic!” Miles stammered as he stood up from the couch and grabbed his can. “We lost her! She’s unhinged! demented! Oh god!”

“Miles, please. You don’t get it, he’s so charming” You whined and shamefully hid your face in your hands.

“Hmm, I can confirm, though” Andy intervened as he laid back on the couch. “He’s also a pretty boy,” Andy said clicking his tongue and looking at you with an approving nod as you felt your cheeks burn hotter and hotter.

“Oh, Andy said it. We know how picky he is with men” Kylie giggled as she exchanged looks with him.

“It has the Andy Arden seal of approval” Andy smirked as Miles groaned as he walked towards you, standing behind the couch as he grabbed your head with his big hands and started shaking your head.

You groaned as Miles was whining incomprehensibly, something along the lines of “Best kept secret, my ass. Those were your words, dumbass! Look at you doing this to get laid!”

“Whoa, slow down, kid. You’re tryna flirt with this guy?” Aaron said with a cheeky smirk as he knew you as if you were some sort of niece to him and sister to Miles.

“The freelance thing has nothing to do with this” You coughed as now Miles had an arm around your neck. “And, I’m not…flirting…” You whined as Miles let go of you. “When was the last time you saw me do something stupid for a guy?” You snapped at your best friend as he squinted his eyes, not having a proper reply, as you both knew you’d never do shit for a guy’s attention.

“Keep lying to yourself, sweetie” Kylie teased as she gave you a knowing look and waved her eyebrows.

“I’m letting things happen organically” You intervened “I don’t want to get too close because he is pretty observant and smart, and that’s a big nono. But this guy is currently in a difficult economical position and I suggested he try freelance” You muttered, shrugging.

“Oh, Loon. Your hero complex is showing” Aaron sighed as he gave you a gentle smile.

“I know, and it’s gotten me in a lot more trouble than I’m willing to admit…” You groaned, rubbing your hands on your face.

“Fine. I’ll do it. He replied with a laid back tone.

“God, thanks Aaron, so, so much! I owe you!” You said, hugging his arm and whining loudly.

“In exchange, put up a small announcement in your blog promoting my job. I get a lot of small jobs when you do, and I could use some extra money at the moment” He said with a smirk as you met his stare and nodded immediately.

“Yeah, sure. You know I’d do that anytime you ask me to” You affirmed.

“Oh, yeah I know. I wanted to give you the illusion of negotiation” Aaron chuckled.

Something made you feel anxious for the rest of the week, slowly dreading the time your appointment –or as your friends liked to call it, “date” – with Peter. And after what felt more like two entire weeks, finally Thursday after 5 came by. You finished your shift and agreed to meet with Peter then.

You took him to The Gallery, where Aaron was going to meet with the both of you. However, much like your roommates did, Aaron decided to play along with the teasing and took his time before making it to your apartment. As you expected Aaron to be there shortly after you two arrived, but wasn’t the case.

For the next hour and a half, perhaps two hours, you were alone in your place with Peter as you tried to maintain a conversation. Making you feel oddly self aware of the possible crush you were growing on him. You gave him a small tour for the apartment which was full of amazing trinkets, as Peter learned a few things about your roommates just by being in The Gallery.

And finally, Aaron arrived with an elegant smirk as he insisted he had ran late due to other business. You dismissed the teasing tone in his voice as the three of you sat on the table in the middle of the apartment. Usually reserved for when all your roommates decided to have dinner or when Miles was working on some big project that needed space. And there, Aaron gave Peter the same monologue he’d given you regarding free lance, how it works, tips and tricks. Aaron hinted you had a little bit of experience in the matter without revealing how much you truly had, as you confirmed and agreed to help Peter.

Peter left rather early, saying he had other things to take care of and something about going to have dinner with his aunt as he told you if you could meet some other time after your shift in the Coffee Pot.

Peter arrived earlier than you expected, as you’d finished your shift and sat at your usual table working on your novel. When you were off work, the door bell was just white noise in your head as you wrote and rewrote lines, sometimes not satisfied with how they sounded. Frustrated by how painfully slow writing as a whole was, as every so often you stopped working on your draft to make notes on unrelated things, either trying to get word vomit out of your way, or taking notes for future events. Frustrated at what seemed little to no progress.

You didn’t notice Peter walking in and ordering what he now guessed was his usual order. A latte with a blueberry muffin. As he waited for his coffee, he kept gazing at you. Interest shone through his eyes as you seemed tremendously absorbed by your work. An ever present frown as you seemed to grow frustrated. Angrily and passionately typing on your keyboard.

Andy handed Peter his coffee, clearing his throat to catch his attention as your roommate noticed how dreamy Peter looked for a second.

“Oh, sorry man…” Peter said avoiding his stare as something told him Andy had noticed he was looking at you.

“You know, it’s rude to stare…” Andy said with a cheeky grin as Peter felt a slight blush on his cheeks.

“I-I…” He laughed awkwardly. “I know…I didn’t mean to be rude and stare..I just think, it's...interesting, when artists are focused on their work” Peter stuttered.

“You’re her friend aren’t ye? The photographer…Peter?” Andy asked curiously noticing every single thing in Peter’s faces that seemed to correspond to the repressed crush you had for him. Andy grinned.

“Ye-yeah?” He said feeling stupid for raising his pitch towards the end.

“She told us she had a photographer friend. Supposed it was you. I’ve seen you a lot lately, talking to her, plus…the camera on your neck…” Andy added as he walked to the cash register as a new customer walked in.

“Oh, yeah. I carry this old thing with me everywhere…” He said softly. “Thanks, by the way. For the coffee” Peter tried changing the subject before heading to your usual table.

“Sure thing” Andy sighed before turning to the customer.

Peter slowly approached your table as you saw from your rearview a shadow, catching your attention as you looked up. Not expecting him until much later, you felt your heart skip a beat as you sat up straight.

“Peter, hi” You said as you looked at the table in front of you. “Please,” You said, gesturing to the chair.

“Thanks…I hope I’m not interrupting…” Peter said awkwardly as he sat in front of you.

“Oh god no. My brain is fried…I could use a break…” You sighed tiredly.

“Is it hard?” His chocolate eyes met yours briefly before he looked away awkwardly “Writing I mean?”

“Oh you have no idea…” You groaned. “But let’s not talk about that…Hey, I got news for you”

“What is it?”

“I texted my cousin and she says she doesn't have a photographer yet. And I told her about you. I sent her the price list you and Aaron did, and she said she’s in” You saw Peter’s cute smile spread through his face as he chuckled incredulous for a second.

“Really?” You nodded to his question.

“Yeah. She asked for a portfolio though…” You sighed frowning softly and smiling.

“Oh, yeah…I-I’ve been working on it. After Aaron told me, I’ve been looking around my computer…It’s still not done yet…” He said as he got his laptop from his backpack.

He gestured with his hand for you to come closer as his smile turned somewhat cheeky. You moved your chair to his side as he typed his password and started his computer. He opened a folder with a bunch of pictures and handed you his computer for you to check them out. As you clicked on one and then pressed the arrow key to move through the pics, you felt his stare.

He looked at you tenderly as you looked through the selection of pics he thought looked best for the portfolio. Some pictures from school events, some of the pics he’d sold Jameson for the Bogle, a few he’d taken during graduation. Some of the pics he took during Lauren’s gig last week. And then a few he’d taken of Gwen Stacy. Something in his chest still aching at the sight of her. He also noticed the weird feeling in his gut, as you were looking at Gwen’s pictures. The girl he’d been slowly growing feelings for staring at pictures of her ex –if ex was the correct term.

“These are gorgeous, Pete” You sighed as you pointed out how beautiful the composition of the blurred beautiful landscapes slightly blurred as the lens focused on Gwen.

Not sure how to reply, he simply nodded and looked at you, actively avoiding looking at his screen. He saw you stretching your hand to a small notebook you had across the table and writing down something on it before you pushed it back to where it originally was.

“...the sunset and the sea at the back look amazing…” He heard you say as his mind kept focused on you and Gwen, making him feel a rather weird mix of feelings. “These are…really great” You said as you felt slightly bad for Peter, wondering how hard must it be for Peter to look at those pictures himself.

“They’re not a lot…” Peter added.

“Why don’t you take some during the week, and the next one before I send your portfolio to my cousin?” You said, trying to help him as you saw Peter's eye spark up as an idea enlightened his mind and looked at you; his lips curving up in a cheeky grin.

“Do…Okay, don’t kill me," He said as his voice turned into a chuckle as you began wondering what was he going to say. I"I have the suspicion that you’re not going to like this but…”

“Peter…” You said in a slight threatening voice as you were beginning to get an idea as to what he was planning.

“Can I–” He stopped briefly as you immediately knew what he was about to ask you.

“No” You said, as you started to blush.

“Oh please! You said you wanted to help me, didn’t you?” His eyes becoming wide and pleading as a small pout shaped his lips, giving you a puppy like look.

“God, you really like to use my words against me, you should’ve gone to law school or something!” You groaned as you looked away, thinking of you stared to long at him, you might say yes to his proposal.

“Please!” He begged.

“Peter!” You growled embarrassed.

“I promise I’ll try to stop using your words against you if you do this for me, please!" He pleaded as his chocolate eyes were drilling holes into your head as you looked at him.

Your cheeks bright red now, as you cursed under your breath. You felt extremely embarrassed at the idea of Peter doing a photoshoot of you to help him with his portfolio.

"Okay, one condition, though" You said shyly as you saw his smile growing excited. "My friends are gonna be there too. I feel less weird if my dumbass friends are there"

"Fuck you! I heard that!" Andy said loudly from the behind the bar.

Peter chuckled softly and looked at you nodding.

"Sure. Sounds like a deal" He said, stretching his hand towards you as you shook hands, sealing the deal. Before letting go of your hand, he whispered your name, as it left a sweet taste in his mouth.

Peter didn’t really want to leave, although he felt the urge to do so as he knew he eventually had to put on the suit and do his thing. He stayed for another hour or so before leaving, not without staring into your eyes one last time, thinking to himself if he was behaving like a teenager with a crush again. He was in his late 20’s, what was going on?

His usual routine of patrolling the city and doing small things here and there kept his mind busy through the rest of the afternoon. Every now and then thinking about how he was gonna have a small photoshoot with you and your friends on the weekend. Something in him felt slightly disappointed it wasn’t going to be just you and him. But that same thought made him feel slightly less nervous about it.

After what felt like a good amount of duties and people helped and saved, he swung back to his apartment. Although before going in, he checked his phone one last time. Out of habit, mostly. In case he picked up some police signal or any news on twitter regarding things happening in Queens. He picked up his phone and unlocked it, seeing a text from Ned.

Something rather unusual, as Ned and him weren’t exactly close. Although, since the gig, Ned went to Peter to either fangirl about The Fool’s Journey and about MJ. Speaking of MJ, his attention spiked when he read the initials in Ned’s text.

Title: A Letter to J.J.J.

As a freelance writer, I’m often contacted by all sorts of people, most of them blogs who wish to feature me in their feed, a couple of magazines here and there, and every so often, newspapers. The good thing about freelance is being able to decide what jobs I pick up and which ones I reject.

I rarely reject pieces of writing.

I just received an email from a certain paper who, due to my personal preferences, decided to stop working with me. And honestly, fair and completely valid. However, this email had no business insulting me and calling me things in such a childish manner. Dear Editor –you know who you are–, I encourage you to behave maturely next time to address anyone. It’s ridiculous for someone your size and fame to behave in such a way. To the general public, to the people in higher positions and popularity as yours, and most importantly, your workers.

You see, I’ve never particularly enjoyed reading your work. Clearly, we both share very different points of view on things. And yet, I took up the jobs you offered me because in a cruel world it is good that we help each other. I write for you, you offer me money in return, and through your reach and my advertisement, we give each other our fair share of time in the spotlight. Even when I don’t agree with everything you had to say, I respected that and took jobs anyways.

However, I find myself in a position in which I can decide whether I want to work with you or not. You wrote to me, and I quote: “[...] after all the favours we’ve done for you by featuring in our paper…” and let me tell you something: You weren’t doing me any favours. You commissioned, I responded, you paid. That’s not a favour, that’s a service and it’s business. Then you have the audacity to write an article about how corrupted I am, defaming my name, just because I don’t play along with your ideas. If only, by featuring my name in the headline you made my statistics rise. Thank you, I have more visits and comments on my website. And thankfully, most of them were actually pretty welcoming of what I have to say. You didn’t really do anything through your attempt to make me look bad in the public eye. This is why you don’t get to be mean to others out of pettiness, Mr Editor. Your actions will only backfire in your face.

And, speaking of being mean to others out of pettiness, you should really try and improve that little attitude of yours. Something you said in that article about me was right, I am, in fact, a “little insolent punk who tries to sound righteous” and trust me, I do try to do right by others. I raise my voice for those who can't, and express the unconformities that exist within each and everyone of us, people trying to survive on a daily basis. You call yourself a journalist, but you got lost with fame and power, you stopped listening to the people who write everyday history and focus on publishing what will bring the biggest coins to your pocket. And I am talking directly to you, Mr Editor, since I know for a fact, your employees don’t have much of a say nor an option. They most likely live paycheck to paycheck, following your orders because it’s either that or not having a job at all. While you get all the credit and are featured in the news, and receive most of the money. Your employees do the dirty work for you, and you sit at the top receiving all the money and praise. God bless Late Capitalism, and god bless the pigs sitting at the top. The view from up there must be really nice.

While I watch from the bottom, I’m glad I still have my feet on the ground. And from the ground level I’ll tell you, man sitting at the top: Get your ass out of your head, stop behaving like a little kid throwing a tantrum and learn to deal with people having different opinions to yours. Learn to listen and to be kinder to others. Otherwise, people won’t show you gratitude when you need it the most.

I got your message the first time, you didn’t have to send me multiple emails calling me things. Don't waste your time calling me pathetic names, I certainly didn’t waste mine reading more than your first email. A simple: “I do not wish to keep working with you in the future due to personal reasons and conflict of interests” would’ve been more than enough, but you decided to go the extra mile and behave like a kid. Your parents must be proud.

This will be the first and last time I shall address you publicly, and don’t even try to complain in my inbox or your paper. I will not encourage nor partake in such immature behaviour. Have a good afternoon, and weekend.

Peter reread it once more as he chuckled and smiled mischievously. He knew Jameson had sent multiple emails to MJ. Ned in fact had written the first email in which Jameson stated he never wanted to see any of MJ’s writing in the paper. The extra emails MJ mentioned might have been sent by Jameson himself or his assistant Angela. Either way, it didn’t come as a surprise to Peter that MJ mentioned the childish way Jameson had behaved. Peter had seen his tantrums first handed, and the man had a way to lose his temper and go flamboyant with the names and slurs.

‘He’s gonna be in a mood tomorrow,’ Peter texted back.

“Bet. Oh, man. If he asks me to send MJ another email, I’m going to cry. I had to send MJ an email from my personal account apologising for Jameson’s behaviour and telling them I didn’t mean anything of the things he made me type’ Ned replied as Peter chuckled.

“So that’s how you know Jameson is a shitty boss as well…” Peter said.

‘I’m sorry, Ned’ He replied to Ned’s text.

‘It’s fine. MJ responded telling me to not worry, and that they know it’s Jameson who’s being a jerk )’:’ Ned said shortly after.

‘At least they get it’ Peter typed as he wondered who MJ was.

He realised he hadn’t been thinking much about MJ since…well, since you two started talking more and more. It was unconscious. He finally found that click with someone. Making him feel oddly lonely, as the desire to become your friend, or perhaps more, grew within him. He was starting to fantasise about what it would be like to have someone who knew he was spiderman, someone he could trust and someone he could go to for help. Having to deal with everything on his own since Gwen died, he felt an awfully big relief when he interacted with you. And even though you’d seen him almost every day since the gig last week, and you still remained a huge mystery to him, made him think perhaps you were good at keeping secrets, and you’d be good at keeping his.

He had completely forgotten about Lauren, and how he basically wanted to learn more about MJ through Lauren, but instead, found himself gravitating towards you. Still thanks to Lauren. Man, he needed to buy Lauren lunch or something as thanks. He was still yet to send Lauren the pics of her band. He made a mental memo of sending them to her after getting home.

He looked back at his phone, checking twitter for any breaking news. However, his feed showed him first one of your tweets. Shortly after exchanging numbers, you two exchanged twitter, since you told him you avoided the other social media and stuck to twitter out of peer pressure and to read the news. Your tweet standing at the very top of his screen was a reply to someone else’s tweet and it read ‘This is an invasion to my privacy Ky!’ Followed by an angry emoji and then a crying one. He chuckled softly and opened the thread as he saw a picture posted by who he assumed was Kylie, your roommate and it was a picture of a notebook, resembling the one you had on your table earlier that day. The notebook was open and it had written in beautiful, yet slightly messy handwriting: “It's like beautiful gentle music is playing in my head when you’re close”. He smiled softly as he wondered and even fantasised about that piece of writing being about him. He didn’t have any solid proof that you had a crush on him like he did on you, but he liked to imagine you did.

His next tweet came from MJ’s account. A tweet about MJ complaining about being spammed by the subject their last post was directed at. As well as apologising to whoever tried contacting them for the weekend, as they were going to ignore their inbox and texts for the weekend since said subject was driving them insane.

He chuckled softly, feeling sorry for MJ as he knew how intense Jameson could be. He thought Ned was lucky to have written to MJ before Jameson’s tantrum spam began, as Ned had managed to hear from MJ instead of being ignored for the entire weekend.

Suddenly an idea sparked in his head. He put his phone away in his backpack and threw his backpack inside his room before heading back out.

You closed your computer, completely outraged and annoyed by the amount of spam Jonathan Jonah Jameson was sending you. Your head aching just by thinking about his bigotry and stubborn personality insisted on behaving this way, even when you’d just called him out for exactly it. For a second you regretted posting that letter to him, although at the same time, you knew you wouldn’t have been you if you hadn’t. Your moral compass always told you to speak out for those who couldn’t. And you’d done just that. Especially after what Peter had told you a few days ago, about how Jameson and his landlord often threatened him, and the email you got from a Ned Leeds apologising for the email he’d sent from the Bogle’s account. You thought Peter most likely knew Ned, and from his email, Ned sounded like a pretty good and sweet person. His email was far too polite compared to the emails Jameson was sending you, only fueled the fire and desire to publicly burn Jameson.

You received a text from Miles, as it brought your attention back to the present, making you wonder where Miles was to begin with as it was getting late.

‘Dude! Check this out!’ Miles wrote and sent a pic.

The picture was from one of the bridges in New York. At first glance it was hard to tell which one, since you always thought most of them looked pretty much the same. The bridge had written in what seemed to be thousands of strings reading ‘Who are you, MJ?’

‘Wtf is that?’ You replied.

Miles didn’t bother to actually write something back and instead sent a link to a tweet, which redirected you to a piece of news. The Robert F. Kennedy bridge, now covered in web with the legend saying ‘Who are you, MJ?’ as people nearby claimed to have seen spiderman swinging all over the bridge for a good 5 minutes writing that. You eyes widened in surprise and a bit of excitement as you thought what an odd timing.

Sure, it was no secret MJ was a Spiderman fan, but why exactly did Spiderman choose to “contact” MJ now? Peter came to your mind as you remembered he was the only photographer who could capture Spiderman. And when you mentioned it, he didn’t deny anything, in fact Peter said Spiderman didn’t mind what the Bogle had to say. Ned’s email apologising, your recent post on Jameson. You began to wonder how closely related Spiderman was to the Bogle.

You thought perhaps you were being paranoid, but you couldn’t shake the thought that it was all oddly connected and perfectly timed. But then again, it might be your writer’s mind grasping at any piece of information that might serve as inspiration.

And just like that, an idea sparked in your head. A small piece of plot you could add to your novel as you reached for your notebook and opened it. Below the line you’d written while Peter was showing you his portfolio, the line Kylie very devilishly decided to post on twitter, you drew a wavy line and started writing down your newest idea.

there's a post going around about how you chose your dragon age oc names? anyway, I talk too much

~~elves~~

Sulina Mahariel Sabrae - derived from the elvish words suledin "endure"/sulevin "purpose" and the suffix -lin "blood." Sulina was my first dragon age oc and like many of my wardens I just gave her the first random name that popped into my head at the character creation screen, and then decided I hated it and gave her a better one later. I believe her name started as Canneia, but after playing the game I wanted her name to better match existing dalish names so I changed it to Candria. But the /k/ phoneme is just not present in elven words and names so I completely renamed her and took the opportunity to craft a name that is just a little bit too on the nose.

Shirae Istimaethoriel Lavellan - derived from the elvish shiral "journey" (with inspiration from the name of clan Sabrae). this one I actually came up with in advance before the game shipped, and I think this is around the same time I surveyed canonical elven names/words and renamed most of my earlier ocs too. keeper Deshanna Istimaethoriel Lavellan is her grandmother.

Rafael (Surana/Tabris) - Raf started out in the Surana origin, but I borrowed his headmorph to test a mod for the Tabris origin and that spun off into a Tabris AU that I got so attached to that I made it canon. similar to the canon dalish names Josmael/Rajmael (and I doubt it's coincidental that there are similar-sounding Hebrew names irl). Raf named himself after a dalish man his parents met once and told him stories about - when he was Surana origin, he saved one of Raf's parents from a bandit attack on the road when they were traveling between alienages to marry. I haven't decided yet if Adaia or Cyrion met him under different circumstances now that he's Tabris origin.

Ellaran - a dalish warden oc. at one point I'm pretty sure I came up with a reverse etymology for this name (hella "struggle" and ...?) but in truth this is really just the one remaining name that lives in my head and "sounds elven" and I'm pretty sure it's just a mashup of the tolkien names Elladan and Elrohir. whatever, it sounds fine.

Rowan - a half-elven warden mage oc. she was raised by her single mother in the gwaren alienage before being taken to kinloch hold and momma named her after Queen Rowan.

Eydis Aeducan - started life as Olenka, I believe. when I renamed most of my wardens I tried naming her Agathe at first (based on the similarity to agate) but I ended up making her swap with my Cadash bc I felt the names fit better the other way around. eydis wasn't chosen for the meaning or anything, just the sound. I tend to generally favor nordic names when I have to name dwarves idk.

Rozi Brosca - started life as Brasi until I came to my senses and realized that Brasi Brosca sounded absurd. Rozi is just the spelling of Rosie I liked best for her. I think her name and her sister's name sound kind of aspirational? Rica and Rozi - riches and roses. does anyone else feel like some wardens probably shouldn't have surnames, Brosca included? oh well.

Agathe Cadash - see Eydis, above

Evender "Rumour" Cadash - idk I think this name just ~sounded right.~ I liked the default name Edric but I didn't want to use the default name Edric. and m'boy m'lad needed a cool nickname to strike fear into the hearts of his foes. or. into the hearts of those poor chumps whose kneecaps he was paid to bust, anyway.

Kataara Adaar - derived from the qunlat words katara "die"/katari "one who brings death" but more importantly, yes, she was named after katara "avatar the last airbender" watertribe. I saw the word katara on the qunlat word list and I was like "oh im naming her after katara watertribe and nobody can stop me"

Vaati Adaar - kat's daughter. derived from the qunlat word vat "fire" and yes I do like the "aa" found in some qunlat words too much and add it to every name it's a problem I just think it's neat

Taashath - kat's ex/vaati's dad. I didn't add the "aa" this time it was already there! just a qunlat word that means "calm" bc he's a chill dude

Gwendolen Elethea Cousland - wanted a celtic name to match Fergus. named after her faceclaim, Gwendoline Christie. middle name comes from one of her alamarri ancestors. gwen and spiro are I think the only two origins ocs who never needed to be renamed bc it took me so long to get around to actually making human origins ocs that I already knew the names of everyone in their families by then so I could select them with intention.

Spiro Amell - so I don't like to use the default names for my ocs but I do sometimes like to use them for inspiration and/or reuse them for other family members. the canonical amell family names are kind of all over the place but I decided to go with mostly vaguely greek/hebrew names (see: aristide and revka amell). so, dad is Andreas and the kiddos are Solona, Daylen, Spiro, Deborah, and Delilah. yes, i alliterated sue me. I could rename the default name kiddos but lbr I won't

Tabitha Grace Hawke - Tabitha was chosen to match bethany in the "biblical names on the slightly obscure side" category. and then I gave her a middle name bc leandra is at heart still a fancy lady even if she is also an irrepressible wild child.

Juniper Hawke - idk I just thought of this name and banked it for the next time I started a new hawke playthrough. she was never supposed to be promoted to canon over tabby but she's just so gd funny. I've since learned that juniper is an extremely trendy baby name rn so apparently I just caught the baby name brainworms in the air.

Alden Ewald Reinaldo Trevelyan - the default names maxwell and evelyn are both very english and have "el" in them so that was the rough theme for the baby name site jam session. half brothers Maxwell and Daniel, sisters Evelyn and Velda, Alden, and twin sister Amelia. originally I went with the name Anselm but I experienced severe buyer's remorse almost immediately and renamed him to something I liked better and that sounded less like a kingdom hearts villain. the other names in the family (father August, grandmother Magnolia, stepmother Oswin, mother Irene, and uncle Cassio Castida) are all just "sure that sounds fine" names that hit vaguely within the right naming tradition. oh! and the middle names. one for his free marcher side and one for his antivan side.

Amelia Trevelyan - speaking of Amelia, she's been through so many (so many) renames. I think I started with Felicia? hated it. then tried a few variants of Emmeline/Ameline but, christ, if the similarity to Evangeline/Aveline doesn't kill those names for me. so! right now it's Amelia! and I'll change it again! no middle names for her until she cooperates and manifests a name I actually like.

Finnola Magnolia Trevelyan - oh and the only Trevelyan cousin I care about. can't remember how/when I chose the name. but it's related to her dead name - she went by Finn prior to transitioning after which point she prefers the nn Nola instead. both given and middle names were family names and she wanted to keep family names after transitioning. grandma Bann Magnolia Trevelyan gave her blessing to take her name for her middle name.

Roxene Shepard - the name on her save file is just Roxy and I SWEAR to CHRIST she's NOT named after a homestuck she's named after a homestuck it was the first thing that popped into my head when I booted up the game look it was 2007 it was a different time. later I came back to beef it up and make it sound more like a sci fi name and less like a chicago showtune. yes, her parents names are Hannah and John and most people in the future are named things like Ashley and David. you know why her name is Roxene and not something normal? because hannah and john shepard were fucking unhinged that's why. had a breakthrough moment several years later when I realized her nickname could be Xena warrior princess.

Deonna Shepard - same thing. named her Diana after wonder woman. first thing that popped into my head. started out at warrior princess that time rather than working my way around to it over the course of several years. went back later to make it fancier bc I can.

Sora was originally named Starlight, and eventually gained a brother. He was initially named Brian, then renamed Percy.

Alex! Initially the only medic characters were Willow and Wisp (and eventually Summer). And then Alex literally just popped up like “Hello, yes, I’m their little sibling and have healing magic” and I went “..... okay!”

This one is actually pre-Draft 1, but Bay and Basil had their names swapped. Then I realized that it would be Jay and his friend Bay, went “nope hate that” and thus it became Basil and his dad Bay.

Amnesiac Jay. Jay’s motivations were flimsy as tissue paper Draft 1 due to identity crises revolving around going nova. Amnesia removes those crises and replaces them with other ones that at least solidify his motivations by a solid 75% lol

Turning “the enemy” from some faceless mass into the government, and also simultaneously yeeting Allison into the role of an antagonist by having her work for said government.

Nuclear power plant where Jay goes nova gets named Almaraz. Almaraz gets moved underground. Almaraz then gets turned from nuclear power plant to government facility housing Project Chronos (aka time travel)

Base gets moved from vague underground facility to abandoned underground city. Questions are answered, more questions are raised, none of them will be addressed till I decide I want to lol

Nova Trio my beloved. Aka creating polyamory out of a flirtationship and an OTP

But since you sound so confused, I'm gonna explain to you the Dream SMP lore 'cause why not

TL;DR: Chaos and war, basically also like a hamilton, heathers, and les mis crossover (but i mean if you want to understand everything you should read.)

Note: Everyone on the smp has three canon lives, and when you loose all three you're canonically dead (except philza minecraft. he has one canon life bc hes known as the hardcore guy bc he had a minecraft hardcore series for 6 years until he was killed by a spider while trying to fight a baby zombie lmaoooooo)

IMPORTANT: THIS IS ALL RP. IRL THEY’RE ALL FRIENDS. THERES A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE PLAYER AND THE CHARACTER. THE RELATIONSHIPS AREN’T ACTUALLY TOGETHER IRL. ITS ALL THEIR CHARACTERS THAT THEY MADE UP. (obviously the best friends stuff are irl)

In the beginning there were 8: The Dream Team (Dream, Georgenotfound [the guy in my pfp btw :)] , Sapnap), Badboyhalo, Awesamdude, Ponk, Callahan, and Alyssa. Around this time, nothing much happened since it was all brand new, uhh yeah (this was around may-july of this year)

Then around late july new members joined: Tommyinnit, Tubbo, Wilbur Soot, Eret, Skeppy, Fundy, Punz, Purpled, and Schlatt. This part is very important to the lore, because the lore kinda started off with the british (so tommy, tubbo, wilbur, eret) Schlatt was banned, cause Sapnap was the one who invited him and Dream didn't know who he was. He'll come up later.

So Wilbur and Tommy decided to create a new nation called "L'Manberg". Also around this time (i think) Nihachu and Jack Manifold joined. They also were part of L'Manberg. There was this huge revolution between Dream Smp and L'Manberg. Very historical period on this smp. In the end, (i think it was?) L'Manberg who won (if memory serves).

After that, L'Manberg had started growing bigger, with a lot more buildings added and stuff, notably Church Prime, which where they created a religion for Twitch Prime, which is how you can sub to your favorite twitch streamer for free if you link your amazon prime account. I'm pretty sure around this time, Quackity, Karl Jacobs (if you watch Mr. Beast; yes, that karl jacobs), HBomb, Technoblade, and Antfrost joined. And then the railway war started. It happened when Tommy accidentally ran over Dream with a Minecart and then took his stuff. This is how the disc war started (once again, if memory serves). The two discs Tommy owns are his prized possesions, and Dream took them. Also around this time the Pet War started, with Sapnap killing someones(i forgot oops) pet. And then more pet killing. Annnnd then even more.

Then there was the L'Manberg eletion. There was POG2020, who was Wilbur and Tommy, SWAG2020, Quackity and George, Coconut2020, Fundy and Nihachu, and Schlatt2020 which was Schlatt. Oh yeah and he got unbanned btw

SWAG2020 and Schlatt2020 decided to combine their votes, thus Shclatt became president and Quackity his vp. Oh and ever since the election Quackity has this grudge against George bc he slept through the election. Schlatt renamed L'Manberg to Manberg, and exiled Tommy and Wilbur from it.

Schlatt is a evil dictator who likes power. He and Quackity started fighting, and so Quackity became part of Tommy and Wilbur's side. Around this time was The Battle of the Lake and The Burning Eiffel Tower, both part of the pet war. (It seems like a innocent war but its actually brutal lmao) Also (irl) Mr. Beast had a $10,000 Taco Bell gift card hunt. Eret won. It was at the cords 6969,420, because haha funny number haha weed number. This has nothing to do with the lore but yeah. Eret also became King of the SMP 

Then there was the Manberg festival. It was to celebrate democracy, but Tubbo puts it as "i decorated my own execution" bc he helped decorate it, but he was murdered there. At the festival was the Manberg Massicare, where Technoblade was forced to shoot tubbo, but he released a firework rocket kiling Tubbo, Schlatt, Quackity, and a few others. Many people lost one of their canon lives. Wilbur went all J.D like and planted 11 stacks of TNT underneath Manberg, and wanted to blow it up.

Pogtopia was formed, which is a ravine which i think is underneath? manberg? Which included basically everybody who wasn't neutral or with schlatt. On November 16 was the Manberg VS Pogtopia war, but the Badlands were also there. The Badlands is a nation of four people: Bbh, Skeppy, Awesamdude, and Antfrost. They faught with the loosing side, so the chaos could continue. Eret disobeyed Dream and got stripped of his royalty, and gave it to George. Oh and during this time, George had no idea there was a war and was building a cottagecore mushroom house with callahan and was very confused with all the death messages in the chat. Schlatt died canonically of a heart attack or stroke (no one knows tbh). Tommy became president, passed it to wilbur bc he still has unfinished buissness with dream (the discs), and wilbur passed it to Tubbo, who made Tommy his vp. Technoblade then argued about how government is bad, and they're just repeating history. Philza Minecraft joined the server, but no one could find him, until Wilbur blew up L'Manberg (they rechanged the name also). Wilbur then made Philza kill him, so Wilbur also became canonically dead. Then Techno, still mad at L'Manberg and governments, summoned two withers and made it attack the others. The Geogre decided to check out what was happening and helped fight. After the chaos, Captain Puffy and ConnorEatsPants joined the smp. About one to two weeks later Vikkstar and LazarBeam joined, then about three months after that Ranboo joined.

They rebuilt L'Manberg on stilts, and there water where the explosion was, but now with coral and stuff to make it all pretty. Tommy and Ranboo decided to go steal from Georges mushroom house, but then also griefed it and burnt it, and Dream, being a George simp, built obsidian walls around L'Manberg. They took Tommy to court, and was put on probation. Then Tommy got exiled (again) but this time by his own best friend. This made Quackity vp and Fundy secutary of state. Dream also took Georges king thing and gave it back to Eret because Eret has a good relationship with everybody, whereas George being King just caused chaos cause hes close to Dream. Quackity and Karl made Mexican L'Manberg, and George and Sapnap joined in also. War against Dream SMP, it was a negotiation and it got renamed into El Rapids (reference to Chilling in Cedar Rapids, which Hilary Clinton once said, and Quackity referenced it, got it trending #1 one twitter (well i mean dsmp gets things trending like everyday but), and got DONALD TRUMP TO SUBTWEET HIM. (This happened irl)

In his exile, Ghostbur (wilbur as ghost) and Tommy made Logstedshire, and Dream was often there to watch him. Dream then blew it up, and now Tommy is living with Techno in his arctic place. Currently, Quackity made a thing called The Butcher Army, so they could execute Techno. Tubbo, Quackity, Fundy, and I also think Ranboo? are trying to get another festival, and yes its a secret execution plan, but for them to kill Dream, who they realized is who they need to kill first. The disc war is still not over. Tommy has one of his discs, but Skeppy is in possesion of the other one.

Unluckily for Tommy (reguarding the discs), something happened in the Badlands. Bbh was digging out his underground statue room (he plans to make a statue of everyone of the server) and found this crimson egg. He, Antfrost, and Captain Puffy kinda got possesed. Also since Skeppy didn't really hang out on the server at night, but bbh does (OF FUCK I FORGOT TO MENTION HE AND BBH ARE BEST FRIENDS) Captain Puffy created Discount Skeppy, which is her in a Skeppy skin. Skeppy found out, had a little conflict with her during her stream, but it was resolved, and at one point in the stream, he asked bbh to choose between him and the egg, and when bbh didn't answer, he went to the egg, put himself inside it, and logged off. Couple days later, bbh and puffy got him out, hes now possed by the crimson, called Technoblade his "best friend" infront of bbh, and is now living in a grass hut. Bad is convinced theres still some skeppt left, but yeah. Skeppy also wanted to burn the disc.

End of lore for now, bc its like if you miss ONE STREAM YOU MISS LIKE A REALLY IMPORTANT EVENT AND ITS STRESSFUL

Not much part of lore but Nihachu and Captain Puffy once went on a date. They’re both bi irl and Puffy was on Nihachu’s Love or Host (twitch dating show. its really entertaining) Captain Puffy was a contestant, and chose love. (LoH is also how Nihachu and Wilbur met.) 

Funfact: Theres 5 irl lgbtq+ ppl on the server (people who came out, anyways cause you never know, ya know?) Antfrost is gay, Eret, Nihachu, Captain Puffy are all bi, and Karl Jacobs is ace spec 

Family stuff: Philza Minecraft (he'll come up later) had two twins with a Samsung Smart Refrigerator in the 70's. The two twins being Wilbur and Technoblade (he'll come up later also) and also had another son, Tommy. They also adopted Tubbo, who they found in a box on the side of the road. When he grew up, Wilbur met Sally the Salmon, and they had a fox together (dont ask just go with it), which was Fundy. (The character) Fundy is trans, and yeah . Bbh is a dad to sapnap and yeah

Oh and a new member is coming on today on Quackity’s stream (twitch.tv/quackityhq at 5pm CST if you want to watch)

anyway have some major points from my "Warrior Cats Rewrite" outline. long story short im rewriting the entire series bc i can, feel free to suggest things youd like to see :)

Overall:

-Please note that some of these bullet points dont make sense in the order theyre in bc i forgot to put them in chronological order and didnt have much time to fix it

-Each book has a different protag in a different Clan

-Some names, families, and pelt colours will all be switched around/changed

-Some characters will be aged up or down depending on when it makes sense to me for them to be born

-StarClan is fucking powerless. Instead these fiesty battlecats have a religion similar to greeks, with their main gods are based around the moon. Its considered super lucky for a kit to be born under a full moon, and naming a cat/kit "Moon-" is considered super disrespectful and can get both kit and mother shunned by the Clan or exiled

-WindClan never stopped tunneling

-Oakheart is still alive

-Assume no cats are related unless I state otherwise

-Lostsong, Wildblaze, Ferncloud, Ashfur, Brambleflower, and Tawnystorm are all related (Bramble, Tawny, Ash, Fern have the same father, Wild, Lost, Bramble, Tawny have the same mother)

-Acorn and Squirrel are Dust/Sand's kits, though they 2 are no longer mates

-The medicine cats cant have mates or kits rule is thrown out the window bc its stupid

-1st book goes more or less the same with only minor changes until you reach the point where Sparkpaw was supposed to run into Mirestorm

-In this rewrite Brokenstar "out of the good of his heart" allows Mirestorm to stay in ShadowClan under 2 conditions. She gives up being a medicine cat and goes back to being a warrior, and she isnt allowed anywhere without a guard. She accepts

-Tigerclaw goes through with the plan to kill Ravenpaw but fails. Ravenpaw, terrified for his life, decides to switch to being a medicine cat

-WindClan hasn't been driven out, but only because Tallstar gave ShadowClan a good half of their territory

-Tigerclaw doesn't try any backhanded traps like the thunderpath one

-That being said, Cinderpaw still gets caught on the Thunderpath bc she wasnt paying attention to where she was going

-She still goes back to warrior training though bc this ThunderClan doesn't discriminate

-All the ShadowClan stuff happens a bit later than it does in canon

-Spottedleaf lives, but she's fucked up really bad (Blind in left eye, intense scarring on face and right side, unable to use back leg without pain, etc etc) and decides to demote herself as a medicine cat and mkve to the elder's den

-Ravenpaw still isn't fully trained, so ThunderClan enlists Barkface's help

-Ravenpaw ends up being named Ravensight sometime around the middle of the 3rd book

-Sparkpaw becomes Sparkfern around halfway through the book bc i dont try to pack what should be a month of buildup into 2 days so theres timeskips when theres nothing happening

-Sandpaw and Dustpaw become Sandstrike and Dustpelt before Sparkfern and Greystripe because they were apprentices for longer

-Tigerclaw kills Sparkfern by the end of book 1

-Tigerclaw tries to kill Bluestar, but she runs out of the den and Tigerclaw gets exiled

-Mirestorm decides to say fuck it and in book 2 pushes Brokenstar into the gorge in RiverClan territory

-After Redtail's death Whitestorm is made deputy

-Since WindClan never needed to be brought back Whiteclaw is alive now too

-Instead of Nightstar, after Brokenstar's death Blackfoot becomes Blackstar

- Whitestorm ends up getting killed so Sandstrike is made deputy

-On that note since Sparkfern is dead Sandstrike was Cinderpelt's mentor

-Both Swiftpaw and Brightpaw live, but both are heavily scarred and are renamed Deadspot and Lostface by Buestar

-Tigerclaw still leads the dogs onto ThunderClan territory, but instead of coming up with the canon plan they all live in fear until RiverClan decides that this is painful to watch and help out

-Deadspot and Lostface end up having a 2nd run in with the dogs and Bluestar looses her last life saving them

-Sandstar renames them Wildblaze and Lostsong

-ThunderClan don't actually hate Bramble and Tawny for being Tiger's kits, but they both feel irrationally guilty about it and that causes just as much of a strain

-Brambleflower is the one who leaves ThunderClan this time, while Tawnystorm stays

-Silverstream and Greystripe never get together. Feathertail and Stormfur are Silver and WhiteClaw's kits

-Also Leopardstar dies earlier and Stonefur becomes Stonestar

-Tigerclaw takes control of BloodClan and renames himself Tigerstar

-When Tigerstar tries to take over ShadowClan Blackstar tells him no

-Tigerstar tries approaching Stonestar for an alliance and the whole "shun half clan cats" thing, not knowing that Stonestar is a half clan cat (Bluestar still told both Mistyfoot and Stonefur the truth) and Stonefur tells him to get fucked

-tigerstar decides to merge with WindClan instead

-The whole fourtrees stand off still happens, but Brambleflower kills Tigerstar (who due to being a faux leader and not going to the moonstone only has one life)

2nd arc (The New Prophecy):

-Protags are Brambleflower (ShadowClan, book 1), Feathertail (RiverClan, book 2), Crowpaw (WindClan, book 3), Tawnystorm (ThunderClan, book 4), Nightcloud (WindClan, book 5)

-The cats that go on the quest are Tawnystorm, Brambleflower, Feathertail, Crowpaw, Squirrelflight, and Nightpaw (Nightcloud)

-Squirrel (who was born earlier than in canon and is therefor now already a warrior) follows Tawny on the quest

-Squirrel has a puppy crush on Tawny and she makes this fact painfully clear

-Nightpaw follows Feather around like a lost dog

-Crowpaw ends up dying instead of Feathertail bc Nightpaw was in danger

-Nightpaw becomes Nightcloud after the journey and develops a crush on Acornleaf

-She's torn between the two until she realizes Acorn doesnt feel the same about her (Acornleaf is in love with Mothwing in this rewrite bc i said so)

-Nightcloud is briefly devastated but then realizes that this makes things so much easier for her and starts dating Feathertail

-Tawny and Squirrel get together after 4 1/2 whole books of obvious pining

-Daisy is still there, but she only has one kit as the others have died (The living kit is Berrynose, now renamed Hay)

-Daisy gets in a relationship with Lostsong and Cloudtail bc thats my OT3 and bc i said so

-After loosing Hazel and Mouse she finds that she can't bring herself to get too attached to Hay so Tawny and Squirrel adopt him and Daisy just becomes that cool aunt™

-Insert a good 7 pages of Bramble freaking out that he's an uncle now

-Hawkfrost is still evil and traps Sandstar in a fox trap, but Mothwing kills him this time.

-Mothwing ends up badly injured from her fight with Hawkfrost and Acornleaf takes care of her

-Stormfur ends up dying

-Feathertail leaves RiverClan to be with Nightcloud

-Daisy/Lostsong/Cloudtail end up having Whitekit (wing), Rosekit (petal), and Honeykit (flower)

-Acornleaf and Mothwing become mates at one point and love each other very very much

-Mothwing is trans (comfort hc ive had aince forever, not purely for the sake of her and Acorn having bio kits i promise) and her and Acorn end up having Swanblaze (Hollyleaf) and Goldenfern (Lionblaze)

-since both Moth and Acorn are their Clan's only medicine cat neither can join the other's clan so Moth takes Swan and Acorn takes Golden

-a good 7 moon timeskip between arc 2 book 5 and arc 3 book 1

3rd arc (Power of Three):

-Protags are Mothwing (RiverClan, book 1), Crowstorm (WindClan, book 2), Goldenfern (ThunderClan, book 3), Littlecloud (ShadowClan, book 4), Swanblaze (RiverClan, book 5)

-[Everything that follows happens between TPB and the beginning of PO3]

-Since there's no "medicine cats cant have kits or mates" rule its common knowledge that Swan and Golden are Moth and Acorn's kits

-On RiverClan's side Graymist (who becomes a queen earlier here for the sake of convenience) nursed Swan alongside Sneeze and Mallow. Besides the feeding Swan spent most of her time hanging around and playing with Motha

-On ThunderClan's side, since Rosepetal is the medicine cat apprentice, Leafpool nurses and raises Golden. The entire Clan treats him like their kit though, especially his aunts Tawnystorm and Squirrelflight

-[Everything that happens this point happens in the actual arc]

-The 3 are Swanblaze, Goldenfern, and Crowstorm (Night and Feather's adopted son. He counts as part of the 3 bc Redtail (Sand's father) was half WindClan in this rewrite and his WindClan father also had Night and Crow's mother

-While both Swan and Golden knew they had a sibling in another Clan, they didnt officially meet until their 2nd gathering, when Moth and Acorn intoduced them to eachother

-Swanpaw met Crowpaw when Crow was chasing a rabbit and couldn't stop himself from falling into the river.

-Mothwing, who had taken Swanpaw on an outing to help her collect herbs, ended up saving him and bringing him back to camp while they waited for WindClan to come back and get him

-While Crow is intended to be Jayfeather's replacement here, he isn't blind. He is, however, deaf. He's still training to be a warrior though bc fuck canon

-Night, Feather, and Crow developed a sort of cat sign language they spread to WindClan to help make it easier for Crow

-It eventually ended up spreading to Bramble and Moth, who spread it to their Clans

-Different powers and shit

-Swan has a sort of foresight. She can tell whats going to happen a few moments before it happens. While she brushes it off as good instincts, when she develops it more later in the series her foresight stretches up to a moon in advance

-Golden still has super strength. He aint invincible tho cuz that was a horeible plot point

-Crow can see and speak to ghosts in the living world. Not just StarClan or dead cats, but any dead animal. If he wants to speak to a dead fox he 100% can

-The 3 still know about the prophecy due to Swan training as a med cat and accidently getting it (She eventually ends up dropping it and Willowshine becomes the med app instead)

-Sol comes in and then the eclipse happens

-Golden and Crow are 100% ready to trust this strange cat they met 2 days ago but Swan is like yo dudes wtf

-That whole plot point happens, Sol tries to go to ShadowClan, but Blackstar tells him to fuck off so he does

-Swanpaw ends up accidently killing him (tried to threaten him into leaving the Clans alone using the dunk and let breathe method, ended up drowning him). The guilt she feels from it is what causes her to drop being a medicine cat apprentice and become a warrior.

-Ashfur still had a crush on Squirrel and is extremely jealous of Tawny. He tries the whole fire scene thing with Haynose, but before he's even halfway done with his monologue he stops for 3 seconds, looks around him, and realizes just what the fuck he's trying to do

-He helps Squirrel and Hay out of the fire, apologizes profusely, and turns himself in to Sandstar, accepting whatever punishment she gives him

-Bramble 100% visits both Hay and Swan at least once a week. Sand and Stone have realized by now that stopping him wont work so they just allow it

-There's no huge gathering scene this time because there isn't a big secret to tell

-The arc does end, however, with Swan finding Stonestar's lifeless body laying in his den

4th arc (Omen of the Stars):

-[NOTE: This section is unfinished due to lack of ideas]

-The whole Stonestar's dead body thing is going to be addressed, but i just dont have any ideas for that so its not addressed for now

- Dove and Ivy are both spoiled rotten by their aunts and grandparents

-As such Dove gains a sorta "entitled" attitude. Like not full tantrum entitled, but getting moody/snappy when she doesnt get what she wants

-Ivy is the same way, just a bit less snapping and a bit more silent treatment

-Brambleflower!!!! Has kits!!! With Rowanclaw!!!

-Yes, I am a big fan of the trans Rowanclaw hc

-I am giving Bramble Tawny's canon mate

-why?

-bc its what he deserves

-Anyway, Their kits are Brindlekit/heart (Tigerheart), Dawnkit/shade (Dawnpelt), and Russetkit/tail (Flametail), who I am aging down bc in canon these 3 already have their full names

-Tawny and Squirrel 100% babysit from time to time

-Dark forest trainees stay the same, but this time add in Dovewing, Bumblestripe and Briarlight

-Haven't read, unable to make an outline

-Briarlight didnt make it in time to push Longtail out of the way, so Briarlight isnt paralyzed and Longtail is dead

-Bumblestripe still has a crush on Dovewing, but is way more lowkey and less "creepy" about it

-Swanblaze becomes mates with Minnowtail

-Acornleaf dies in the Last Hope

-So do Brambleflower, Goldenfern, Honeyfur, Graymist, Spiderleg, Applefur, Olivenose, Redwillow, Ferretclaw, Tallpoppy, Whitetail, Heathertail, Reedwhisker, Robinwing, Mosspelt, Pouncetail, and Dovewing

5th arc (A Vision of Shadows):

B.C.: A Special Christmas (because nothing says Christmas like cavemen)

For those who have never heard of the daily comic strip known as B.C., all you need to know is it’s about a bunch of cavemen in a pseudo-prehistoric setting (that are funnier than the ones in the Geico ads)

The strip, along with The Wizard of Id, were produced by Johnny Hart literally until his death in 2007 (he died at his drawing board), when his grandson took over.

I’ll introduce most of the characters as the review progresses, but there are two in particular I want to address:

The sole female members of the cast didn’t get official names until 2019, where they were named (left to right) Jane and Grace. Given their original names were (and please don’t hurt me; I’m just reporting facts) “the fat broad” and “the cute chick” respectively, I’m surprised it took that long to rename them (in fact, it wasn’t until I did research for this review that I realized they actually had names!)

Now, seeing as when this special had come out, I should use the names they had at the time (and what they were called in the special)...but since I have many female friends (including my best friend, whose name is on my marriage license) who would likely kill me if I did so, they will be called Jane and Grace during this review.

The special starred legendary comedy duo Bob and Ray as the two characters the series focuses on (I’ll point them out later)

We open with Thor (the local inventor, creator of all of the modern conveniences, such as the wheel) observing a pair of ants using a structure that looks a lot like Stonehenge...

This in and of itself isn’t that unusual for B.C., as the animals are a bit anthropomorphic. However, the ants note that the position of the morning star is a bit off for this time of year.

After checking himself, he decides he needs to check his calendar (that he also invented) to see what day it is. Problem is, he loaned it out and can’t remember who has it. So we have a not-at-all convoluted way to introduce the cast.

First up is Clumsy Carp (three guesses how he got that name), who was asleep with his head in the river (maybe he is a carp!), but he doesn’t have it (you’ll start to see a pattern here)

Next up is the Fat ...err, JANE (I should note that she has a bit of a temper and zero patience for the guys’ BS), who’s a little pissed that Thor woke her up, and no she doesn’t have it either.

Next up is the Cute Grace. I’m guessing Thor left with something, but it wasn’t a calendar, since she also doesn’t have it.

Next up is Curls (the sarcastic one) Nope.

Then B.C. (the everycaveman) wanders by. Uh-uh.

Finally we come to Peter (voiced by Bob, and has the ethics of a used wheel salesman), who does indeed have the calendar. When Peter asks what day Thor thinks it is, Thor does some quick figures and deduces it should be the 24th...

If Thor could figure it out in his head, why did he need to look at the calendar?! Also, the first calendar with December wasn’t created until 46 BC. So are we to assume these cavemen are late bloomers?

As Peter kicks Thor out...

...a flower explosively sprouts from the ground. Peter is pissed that a plant caused his home to cave in and rips it from the ground. At that point, Grace wanders by, so he gives it to her. Grace rewards him with a peck on the cheek.

Peter then goes to the cave of Wiley (the local poet, voiced by Ray) to describe how it felt to give things to people. It gave him a revelation...

“There’s a buck to be made here!”

Peter tells Wiley to come up with some sort of bullshit legend they “discovered” while digging for clams that they can hoodwink the others with.

They decide to create a being that comes around once a year. Wiley suggest the being needs “sanitary claws”, so Peter names him Santa (I’ve heard worse reasoning...) When the discussion comes around to what to sell in Santa’s name, Wiley suggests making trees a symbol of the legend. And since this is an annual event, they sell “X amount of gifts to the masses”

Naturally, they call the event X-Mass.

Now it comes around to describing Santa. There are a few missteps, such as...

 ...before settling on the Santa we all know and love. Now, as to how he gets around, how about a wheel?

Probably not. What about a toboggan? (wait, they have toboggans in prehistoric times?) Finally, Wiley comes up with a sleigh with flying reindeer, figuring the story’s already gone over the deep end anyway.

That night at the campfire, the group buys it hook, line, and reindeer. Peter proposes the X-Mass should be celebrated in 2 days, on December 26th, to allow him and Wiley time to set up shop.

However...

...the boys’ creative minds may have wrought something they no longer control, for as the night progressed...

...Santa dropped off personalized gifts (much better than the gift-wrapped rocks Peter intends to sell) and trees to everyone as they slept, wishing them all “Merry Christmas” (NOT “X-Mass”)

The next morning, as the gift shop opens...

...everyone shows up crowing about the cool stuff Santa left them, then asks what Peter and Wiley got. They stammer a bit about mittens and a sock respectively until everyone suggests celebrating a day early. Dejected, Peter and Wiley head back to their caves and discover...

Peter grabs the long red hat and runs out gleeful. It turns out Wiley had a similar setup in his cave with a pair of red mittens. Wiley calls Peter’s hat a “stump sock” and Peter really likes Wiley’s mittens, so they exchange gifts and wish each other a Merry Christmas (NOT “X-Mass”)

That evening...

So now we’re to assume that not only were there cavemen as late as the birth of Jesus, but they lived near Jerusalem?! This special is all over the fucking place!

Anyway, we get a muzak version of Away in a Manger as the closing credits roll

ok so here we go.

SCREENTIME

* first off

* Not an entirely bad name??

* I would prefer Worm tho as a reference to the Morris Worm

* And I did make his design a little more wormy. Kinda Doc Ock-ish.

* So his tragic backstory... Well. Long long ago... when he was just a little kid... his dad fucked his mom.

* Jkjkjkjk. But it would be better than fucking “internet gas.”

* To take this in a darker route, I think it would be cool if his grandad had been experimenting with creating cyborgs and turned his dad into one. And then turned Screentime into one. So Screentime escaped sort of half-finished and is just trying to help others who might mirror his situation of abuse.

* I like to think his first superhero story was he was just like fucking buying bulk ramen and then hears a dude harassing a girl in the next aisle over and is like. huh. word. guess I can intimidate this guy by threatening to take his fucking social security and make it public knowledge.

* Bc he can hook up to the internet and updates his database frequently so he can just Mr. Robot people.

* He’s probably like 18 or 19. Never was schooled and college is kinda pointless when you have the whole internet in your brain.

* So he’s just living in a rundown apartment. Payin bills by doing odd jobs and doin bitcoin stocks.

* On the battlefield, he’d definitely be a mind games kind of guy, but he’d also use his worm limbs for dexterity and could probably discharge bursts of electricity at the cost of losing some information in his database.

* Also it’s probably really hard to tell, but Screentime is my favorite out of the original designs.

TRAILBLAZER

* again! Not a bad name at all!

* Made me think of fire though... and hiking... so

* We really don’t have much information on these characters so they were kinda fun to play around w and I think she was my favorite in terms of concepts.

* Also what the fuck are those red things on her head am I just fucking dumb???

* They look like devil horns. So I’m gonna run with it.

* Ok so she got a backpack from a god.

* Well that god was a god of Hell and also her godfather. Her actual father was another god of Hell. And idk how gods really work in the Marvel universe?? But I think there’s probably at least some high-ranking demons of Hell. I think Hell exists??? If I remember Doctor Strange correctly? (Maybe not Doctor Strange... bro everything is so hard to keep up with)

* Anyway, her dad was killed by some hero traveling through Hell at some point probably. And so she’s been preparing since to go avenge him.

* Then she gets to earth and is kinda like... well, avenging can wait.

* And the reason she can’t just get anything she wants out of the backpacks is because the backpacks are alive. But over time as she gains their trust, they start to become more and more useful. So, like magikarp to gyarados.

* her outfit was so fucking hard to redesign. like,,, I still don’t like it. The backpacks and stuff yes. Everything else no. But it’s better than the Neon Nightmare.

* Her powerset shouldn’t be limited to just her backpacks though. I saw a lot of people complain about that. Bc anyone could steal them from her and use them?

* So I think she should have superhuman strength. Also, her backpacks should only respond to her command. It’d be cute if they were also kinda cheeky about it. Bc yeah she’s a spoiled little brat. But she’s their spoiled little brat so they’re not opening up for anybody but her.

* She’s defo the youngest of the group

* Even if she is an immortal demon kid lol

* So Shuriken is non-binary. Which I think is really cool! They’re not the first non-binary character that Marvel has,, bc Loki exists,, but while they’re not a good step forward... they’re a step forward nonetheless and I kinda commend them for at least trying.

* But goddamnit why did they have to go and name them S

* So Shuriken has ice powers that are sort of threatening to take them over. Like if Iceman couldn’t control his powers ig. Their powers sort of came to them mysteriously in the middle of them already having a gender crisis and high school is happening and all that blah and now they’re just like,,, so ,, “superheroing seems to be a good venture right now. Maybe I’ll find myself in heroics and forget about everything else”

* And most of the heroic ideal is on their brother, ,,,, uh,,,, Quarterback,,, who idolizes the “classic” heroes like Cap, Iron Man, and Thor.

* Shuriken prefers reading news stories about Night Slasher and Punisher, Jessica Jones, and just generally, the other edgier heroes.

* But because their brother idolizes heroics so much, it makes it sort of a surprise when Shuriken takes up their mantle before Quarterback realizes anything is going on.

* And how does the ice stuff affect them? They’re sort of on the fence about finding a cure and whatnot. Most people speculate its like later-in-life mutation, but Shuriken isn’t satisfied with this answer.

*they sometimes chop off the spiky ice parts for convenience(they have no feeling in the frozen over parts of their body)

*(I’m toying with the idea of them having a crush on Ms. Marvel ngl)

QUARTERBACK

* not much to say about him? Other than goddamn that neon was terrible.

* Also I’ve seen jocks wear pink, so some youtube dudes complaining about that can fuck off. Maybe not that bright of a shade?

* But I figure with a defensive character, you would definitely want a bulkier frame. At least Power Man levels of a bulky frame? Like I’m not talking Hulk or Thing. Just.. yknow. At least a good Cap size dude.

* Also a blockier costume would make sense. Since he’s supposed to be. Uh. Safe. For people to like,, crowd behind. Like a safe

He gets a blood transfusion against his parent’s wishes and in the end also gets adopted by this weirdass doctor who probably has some nefarious purpose, considering he used Morbius’ blood in the first place.

* This would explain how he could survive having vampirism since a doctor would probably have easier access to donated blood and stuff.

* Should the blood be going to people who actually need a transfusion? yes, however, this doctor is clearly ,, off his fucking rocker and corrupt as hell,, and what is his purpose?? The world may never know

* I don’t think B-Negative cares about anything. Like he just seems like that kind of character? Totally and inherently aloof and selfish because he’s just been fed blood on a silver spoon his whole life?

* Just does not care

* He does care about music though. Specifically rock(alternative, punk, hard, etc) and the history of it.

A villain saved by the MC who is focused on revenge. The story seems to focuses on trauma recovery from his life as a s*x slave and handles mental health pretty well 

Technically a “yandere” character, but the Novel Updates reviews describe his possessiveness and dark thoughts as byproducts of his trauma that he heals from, realizing that he shouldn’t be thinking of the MC that way and growing

Gu Mang from Stains of Filth / Yuwu

Submission: He’s my little guy

He’s the tragic ML who betrayed the MC while also being the biggest fucking clown / the comedic relief

He truly believes he’s a fucking wolf at one point. 

Essentially, Gu Mang was a slave in Murong Lian’s household, which led him to meet the MC, Mo Xi, who is a noble of similar standing to the Murong clan. He eventually becomes the General-in-Chief of the Wangba Army (later renamed to the Northern Frontier Army bc it was a funny name) and fights for the Chonghua Empire. However, since the Wangba Army was made of slaves, not a single of his fellow soldiers were given a proper burial, which - along with other reasons - led to Gu Mang defecting to an enemy nation (that also killed Mo Xi’s father and may or may not be cannibals).  

The story begins when said enemy nation trades Gu Mang back to Chonghua as a prisoner of war with parts of his soul gone, causing him to believe he’s a majestic blue wolf. The summary is a tiny bit misleading, albeit not wrong - “they’ve slept together before” is actually more “they slept together multiple times while Mo Xi, at the very least, is incredibly in love with Gu Mang.”  

Gu Mang’s also pretty funny, even with his memories gone, albeit the inherent tragedy is overwhelming. Idc what “evils” he committed… the Lotus Pavilion thing or whatever was fucked up. The author is so brutal to him, and for what? Funsies? (<--mainly joking, but it’s a SAD story… I’ve cried so many times)

Anyway, Gu Mang Did Not Deserve This 2023 

Yan Zhengming from Liu Yao: the Revitalization of Fuyao Sect 

Submission: Winner of the award for highest number of times I’ve called a man a “pretty princess” 

Apparently has a fantastic character development into the Sect Leader (I’m not that far), but he’s also just a pretty princess <2

He’s the eldest disciple of Han Muchun / Fuyao Sect who was born into a rich family. He ran away at age seven and became Han Muchun’s first apprentice/disciple. He’s similar to a spoiled young master character, but he doesn’t really bully anyone; he may try to bully/clash with Cheng Qian, but I don’t think he wins (been a while since I started it - he’s like 15, and Cheng Qian is ~9-10 at this point) 

“Strict with others but lenient on himself” → responsible Sect Leader pipeline, More at 10 pm

I stalked your wip page a bit, are you going to continue writing Starlight during NaNo? :D Also 8, 9, 12 and 15 for the nanowrimo ask?

Yeah! Starlight is my NaNo project, bc I haven’t really made that super clear. I don’t know if that’s like cheating or whatever, bc I’ve been working on it for a while, but I definitely need at least 50k more. I’m actually doing NaNo mostly to get myself to finish Starlight faster. 

8. Any inspirations?

So I don’t think I’ve ever said this before, but Starlight has its roots in games I played with my siblings when we were little. And I don’t know how many people have heard of Great Wolf Lodge, but there’s this game called MagiQuest there (I think you can do it other places too idk) that’s basically like an interactive scavenger hunt around the building, right? And to play, you need to buy these wands that interact with all the props and stuff. So we somehow convinced our parents to buy them for us, and we totally had a blast with this stuff. (I think I was like 9 or 10?) But anyway we came home with these fancy wands, so naturally we had to make up a complicated game and universe for which they were suitable, right? And we each had our own character to play, because of course. 

My character was named Jinna, and she had illusion powers and could turn into a bird, because why not? And oh yeah she also had a wicked sword.

My older sister’s character was named Gwen, and she had plant/nature powers and could turn into an ocelot, and she was an archer.

And then my younger brother’s character was named Jathan, and he had fire powers and could turn into a fox. He also fought with a sword, because that was back in the day when he and I would play fencing all the time with our nerf swords. 

And then my younger sister’s character was named Ariana, and she could talk to animals and I think turned into a mouse or a squirrel, I can’t remember which. 

Anyway, I was already a weird daydreamer child who made up complicated stories, so naturally the “magic game” had to become a huge thing for me. Mostly I made up scenarios and weird universe rules and they went along with it sometimes. So. 

Gradually, it turned into less of a game and more of a wip thing for me, and I didn’t want to play it anymore bc my siblings were ruining their characters. ( an interesting note is that Jathan and Ariana were basically the same person as the respective sibling, but Jinna and Gwen were a lot like my older sister and I, but flipped. I’m taller and quiet, so my Jinna was shorter and more outgoing, and my sister is short and more outgoing, so her Gwen was tall and quiet. Probably just because we two were old enough to be self aware and thus have like. low self esteem? idk.)

And eventually, Gwen turned into Kirsta (ask me about the other inspirations behind Kirsta bc that is another pile of longs stories) and she also sprouted a brother, Kor, who mostly existed to round out the gender ratio. So I had a working story about Jinna, Kirsta, Kor, Jathan, and Ariana, who still had cool magic powers but lost the ability to turn into animals somewhere along the way. 

9. When did you come up with the idea?

So Starlight has gone through a lot of different “ideas,” but here’s the incomplete story:

When I was 12, my best friend emailed me (lol) and was like ‘hey we should write a book together! (At this point I was already like dead set on being a writer and she been knew) and I was like ‘Sounds great! what did you have in mind?”

Turns out like not much, so I rifled through my mental file of ideas I wasn’t that invested in, and came back with my old mirror portal fantasy idea and a few others, but she picked the mirror portal fantasy. 

So what we started writing was basically this:

A girl named Ali lives in modern NYC and figures out that she can walk through mirrors. The mirror realm connects all mirrors on earth, but it also connects all realms/universes in the multiverse (for some reason idk.) Turns out she’s from a different realm, and she has to go save her realm from the bad guys/creatures who are trying to take over all the realms. Yeah. 

Eli pretty much sprang to life fully formed into this version, and so did Saref. And this version is where the plot of finding Eli that basically exists pretty unchanged as the main throughline of Starlight right now.

By like chapter 2, we hit a roadblock called ‘this story has a strong throughline but literally nothing else to it’s name, and I was already getting bored, bc honestly I didn’t care about any of the characters except maybe Eli. (And actually, og Ali was p much the worst mc, bc she was super passive and literally never acted on her own or made any choices.) But my bff was still very into it, so basically one day I was like k we’re going to add/change some stuff, and basically superimposed my “magic game story” right on top of it. In retrospect, this actually worked out quite well, seeing as the “magic game story” had everything but any kind of throughline. So I basically renamed Jinna Ali, and all was fine and dandy. Eventually I phased out the portal fantasy aspect entirely, and Ali was no longer from the modern world. (And now the mirror concept belongs to its own urban fantasy wip bc I can’t get rid of any ideas) 

so around 2013, we actually had a pretty clear outline and a draft moving along, and the plot basically stayed the same until like 2017, (when I came back to Starlight and realized that the plot was, um, invented by 13 year olds.)

And then my 2017 plot conflicted with a lot of the worldbuilding/subplots, and it’s basically been major overhaul since then, but now it’s kind of stabilized (I hope)

12. Who’s your favorite character so far?

I’m super attached to a lot of them, but Alya, Kirsta, and Kor especially have a place in my heart. (I can never pick 1 favorite of anything lol)15. What’s your character’s favorite memory with another?

hey whats up guys i had 2 put this in a submission as well as literally typed this in a note bc im on data & i dont wanna use a lot of it

basically my au takes place in a college instead. seems more fitting bc theyre actual adults & just feels Right.

theres more characters than there is in the original but thats mainly because i took the ‘genderbent versions’ & made them useful (i pretty much made them in2 siblings 4 some characters lol) anyways!! lets break down the characters

also lads, lassies, non-gender specific term for those bc i dont know the term, im givin yall a warning 4 self harm, suicide, nsfw implications/rape, possible drug abuse, and the rest of the Basic Criteria

Akihiko (Previously known as Senpai): He’s gay & trans. His name means 'bright prince’ which really has no significance, I just thought it was pretty……………and everyone views him as a prince bc he’s rly nice and kind and forgiving and actually has a personality other than being a cardboard box. Eventually gets into a commited relationship w/ 'Yandere-kun’ who I really need to give a name. Akihiko has a twin brother, I took that idea from the possibility of a younger sister, and admittingly(admittedly???) enough, Koumi’s 'genderbent’ Hanako. I’ll get into detail on his twin later, but they have a pretty good relationship. Akihiko (it was at this point i actually looked up a name 4 him & went back 2 edit stuff bc i h8 senpai lol) is still childhood friends w/ 'Osana’, who I renamed Ami(i4got her last name i had 4 her). However, neither of them have romantic feelings for one another, considering Akihiko is only attracted to males, and Ami is only attracted to females(theyre gay.). Akihiko actually meets Ayano when she is about to commit suicide, when he saves her. Ami is there with him, so they both save her. Aside from slight backstory related stuff, Akihiko is actually rather popular. People like him for an actual personality this time!! He’s very kind and puts others needs before his, which is rather dangerous. Ami has lectured him on this many times. Akihiko’s also known for having really good grades and being very helpful when it comes to tutoring others. He meets Ichirou (yandere-kun i literally just looked up anothr name his name means first son bc hes the first son btw lolol) eventually when Ayano invites him over. (sry this is everywhere btw i should have put this in2 a specific order) ngl i feel like this is enough on akihiko like if u wanna kno more abt him hmu on my main christopherpierre-official

Ami (Previously known as Osana): god shes so fucking gay like as soon as she met ayano she fuckign DIED bc she loves her so much???she thinks ayano is like. the prettiest fuckgin girl ever. holy fuckshit shes GAY AND WILL DEFEND AYANO WOTH HER LIFE!!!! Anyways. Ami comes from a dangerously abusive household, and as a result, took a lot of self defense classes when she ran away at age 13. (what year is tht in japan pls help) She still retains some of her 'tsundere’ personality, but she’s more thoughtful of others feelings. She met Ayano as she was about to throw herself into highly active traffic, but she and Akihiko were able to stop her before she could hurt herself. As soon as Ami and Akihiko were able to calm Ayano down, they called an ambulance/contacted the hospital, considering she had a lot of bruises and cuts. They would later find out Ayano’s father was extremely abusive, and the mother was unable to do anything because she was away on a trip for work. A lot of people know Ami for how assertive she can be, misinterpreting her mostly good intentions as aggressive. Ami is mostly known for her knowledge on medical related things, but she still has a slightly bad reputation because of how rude she comes off as. again thts enougb on ami if u wanna kno more just ask me!!

Ayano: still keeps the name bc I Like It?? its pretty fuck u. Ayano has none of her yandere personality. She’s fuckign AFRAID of everything bc of her SHIT ASS ABUSIVE DAD!! I kinda sorta projected some emotional trauma of mine onto Ayano;;; Obviously when Ami found out she was fuxking enraged. Ayano can’t afford to move out of her house just yet, and her brother can’t necessarily take her in, nor does he have her contact info. He kinda sorta left thr country for a bit?? Not sure what country I want this to take place in yet. However, Ichirou is fairly powerless against his father as well, so he took a lot of the beatings, (even tho this boy is fucking Strong as Hell like GOD FUCKIN DAMN!!! he can lift his own mom w/o an issue!! but he kinda left like right away as soon as he could & couldnt take ayano i mean she was still in high school & he Obviously has guilt over not taking her w/ him) but not as many as Ayano, seeing as to how she was the fathers least favourite. Her mother never married the father, and she didn’t want the children to inherit his last name either. …..anyways this is enough i thimk

Ichirou (Previously Yandere-kun): Gay. Loves Akihiko. Retains the yandere personality, but it’s not as bad??? He left the [insert surname household here fuck aishi its not even a Real japanese surname] household as soon as possible, and had immediate regrets. Loves his darling little sister with all of his heart, but it’s literally not incestuous. It’s just good sibling love………also he likes 2 embarass ayano a lot lol. As soon as he met Akihiko, who I never mentioned to have pastel pink hair, he fell in love like, right away? Even though I personally don’t believe in love at first sight (that’s a lie I fell in love w/ most of my anime bf’s @ first sight i can shut the Fuck Off) Ichirou was just??immediately enchanted by this beautiful prince…….he’s just that gay. He’s 2 whole singular years older than Ayano. actually not 2 whole years but w/e hes a scorpio tho. Ichirou has definitely been in relationships w/ other men b4 but they didn’t work out too well. Some rando called him 'daddy’ once and wanted to fucking Die he has shit experiences with his dad & hates the daddy kink so much. He also has ptsd. Doesn’t know how to deal with his emotions at all so he just bottles them up and lets them out all at once and it’s a mess. Also has self harm scars, and some scars from his father trying to Literally Kill Him. This boy……strong as fuck. Can lift his own mom. Has held Ami, Ayano, and Akihiko all at once. Somehow. He’s just a really good older brother? But he’s also really sneaky. While he is jealous of the time Ami & Ayano spend with Akihiko (the A squad lol i just realized their names all start w/ the letter a) he does respect that they’re really close friends, and nothing more. He’s also aware of the unsaid feelings between Ayano and Ami (vry perceptive) so he doesn’t care lol. However, he has little to no tolerance of anyone else being around him. He has a slight distaste for Akihiko’s twin, Kazuhiko (the name means harmonious prince i got a Theme goin on here) but he disregards the feelings. wow talk abt an Info Dump okay next 1

Kazuhiko (Previously the 'genderbent’ little sister/brother, made him into Akihiko’s twin brother): He’s actually a yandere too?? But not 4 Akihiko. He’s vry supportive of Akihiko tho. When he & his twin were in middle school, he gave his uniform to his brother bc he still got the sailor uniform, so he took it. There were some troubles but hey I don’t know how this shit is dealt w/ so please. Just accept this brother supporting his gay trans twin……pls….. He enjoys Ayano’s company. She reminds him of his gf/d8m8, the 'genderbent’ version of “”“"senpai”“”“ (theyre cousins but nobody knows yet so thats why) so he introduces them and they hit it off pretty well! Kazuhiko get Jealous™ and nearly exposes his yandere personality but his Lovely Beautiful Nonbinary Girlfriend reassures him tht they only love him. He loves Yuuka (their full name is yuuka minako) so much?? He would kill 4 them. Literally. He almost has. & b4 i accidentally make a cishet character bc i Refuse 2 4 some???odd reason idk, kazuhiko is a Bisexual Demiboy who fell in love w/ a nonbinary who is okay w/ feminine aligned things. Back on track, Kazuhiko is fairly popular w/ a lot of people for many reasons, and oh wow what a Fucking Cliche ppl r strongly sexually attracted to him!!coolio. he looks nothing like koumis fuckass potato lookin little brother btw. But a lot of people hate the fact that he’s in a Very Committed Relationship w/ Yuuka bc shes not that pretty damn!! But she is. She’s so fucking pretty. To him, at least. He basically fucking worships Yuuka. this is A Lot next character lol

Yuuka (Previously 'Senpai-chan’ or w/e lol): Nonbinary who’s fine w/ she/her pronouns, but also uses they/them. Very shy, Ayano & Ichirou’s cousin. Has a younger sister, and two older siblings who are twins. The younger sister is the old concept for the original little sister, and the older siblings are nemesis-chan & 'nemesis-kun’. While Yuuka and their siblings have lived a fairly abusive life, they haven’t sustained as much 'damage’ as Ayano’s family. Yuuka & Ayano are related by their mothers. They are sisters, only a year and an undetermined amount of months apart. This means after Ryoba, Ayano’s mother, or Sakurako, Yuuka’s mother, moved away, they lost contact with one another, never bothering to talk again. Yuuka and Ayano get along exceptionally well, and Hanako (u remember the little sister well her name stays the same bc its meaning is just flower child. also her design changes.) often refers to Ayano as an elder sister. Yuuka’s relationship with her little sister is somewhat strained due to the three year age gap, but they still get along regardless. Their relationship is strained because Yuuka promises to spend more time with their younger sister, but there’s not much time due to an overwhelming amount of schoolwork, as well as their job taking up a lot of time, too. Regardless, Yuuka doesn’t forget to call their darling little sister as often as she can, checking up on her and how well she’s doing in school. next 1!!!! also i4got 2 talk abt their relationship w/ kazuhiko here bc i was rly focused on mentioning family stuff…..oops (also 4got 2 mention mental health stuff??but like. yuuka has adhd, depression, anxiety, u can just ask me if u wanna know more tbh)

Hanako: i kept the name bc it just literally means flower child & honestly shes such a flowery child??anyways. Hanako retains little to none of her annoying rip-off-nico personality. Instead, she has set up a calm, shy exterior as a defense mechanism due to the many years of neglect she received from her father. (me @ myself y r all the dad characters fuxking Dicks in this like??okay damn.) On top of that, growing up, her mother was never around, due to the fact that she was in the hospital to a terminal illness. Instead, she had to rely on Yuuka for attention, since the twins, Tomoko (sister) and Kiyoshi (brother) left before she graduated her first year in middle school. Hanako also has difficulties with her schoolwork because she, much like her sister, has ADHD. Due to this, she struggles to keep up with the class, and has a hard time paying attention to almost anything that doesn’t interest her enough. However, she has many supports, helping her as much as possible in many ways, which does make her feel better about herself. After her mother had made a full recovery and left the hospital in her current year, she has felt much better about herself, and her grades have definitely improved. Although her father did leave her a while back when she found out he was having an affair on her mom, she still managed fairly well on her own. i mean cmon its not like she liked her dad tht much lol he was a Big Fucking Asswipe hanako isnt as fleshed out as i wished her 2 b but shes not That signigicant to the main story??idk. like shes still in highschool & shes only 17 & this takes place in college so??i dunno. i mean if u got suggestions or smth..sure

Tomoko (Previously Nemesis-chan, made her one of the older siblings bc idk y not lol: There’s not much to say about her. She’s 28, which is only 11 years apart from Hanako. She was entirely capable of filling in the missing mother role for her and Yuuka, but she herself didn’t know what to do. On top of that, she was more focused on getting the best grades out of the entire class, and was much better at academics than her brother. Tomoko has a very cold exterior. She is hard to connect with, and pays little to no attention to anyone elses feelings than her own. This mainly stems from the fact that her father, who she doesn’t even consider a blood related relative, was too busy messing around with other women. buddy i dont know what else 2 write 4 tomoko like she just has severe apathy issues & just doesnt know how 2 connect w/ others. next character

Kiyoshi (Previously Koumi’s shit ass 'genderbend’ Nemesis-chan): Unlike Tomoko, he was able to fill in the father-like role for Yuuka and Hanako. Due to having to take on the role of the father, it put a large strain on his academics and work outside of school. He, at one point, almost had to drop out to take care of his younger siblings, but decided against it. He eventually decided to teach Yuuka how to do her own laundry and how to cook when she was only 9. Due to this, Yuuka was able to take care of herself and Hanako while Kiyoshi could work and pay their bills. Kiyoshi was only 23 when he left the household so he could go to college and get a degree, leaving Yuuka at age 15, and Hanako at age 12. he could b more fleshed out but im??i dunno. im Panicking okay do u think i can work on a character tht doesnt rly show up in the story a lot.

anyways im just putting all of These Guys in 1 this 4 now bc this is A Lot as it is. ill do more later also give me criticism on these pls

Hey y’all, guess who just had a wonderfully terrible idea!

I was just sitting here daydreaming, pondering on the unfortunate fact that I have a lotta guys in Astral, when I had a Thought™

First of all, this would require me to go back and change like... one piece I’ve posted to AO3? Any reference in the FebruarOC stuff wouldn’t change bc imma say that stuff is all snapshots of who the characters are/were at the time of writing. Ie, very malleable. Anywho

So. How it stands now:

Jared, Will, and Mathias are childhood friends. When Maddox’s soldiers come to Malthea and their fathers are killed, Mathias and his mother run to Althaan. Jared, Will, their mother, and their uncle make a bid to leave the mountains. Only Jared and Will make it.

Fast forward, Jared and Will are 15/16. It’s been 5-6 years since they left the mountains, since they’ve seen Mathias. They and the rest of the group are passing through the Dragon Ridge to get to the Eastern Kingdom, on their way to Rosemist and Silvervale and Maddox. They spend the night near Malthea, but not too close. After all, Jared and Will have no idea what’s happened in the years they’ve been gone.

In the morning, there’s a set of footprints passing by their camp for the night. After following them and a confrontation, Jared and Will realize that it’s Mathias. And Mathias finally recognizes his old friends.

But things have changed. The mountains and those that live in them are highly suspicious and highly... religious, for lack of a better word atm. Mathias, of course, has kept all the beliefs he’s had since childhood, namely that the mountains will protect their people, amongst various others. Will quietly lost faith as a child, when his dreams showed him the death and destruction that was coming. Jared had his faith ripped away the day his father was killed, the day he watched his mother and uncle die, knowing that it was all for his and Will’s safety.

Mathias thinks the twins haven’t changed since he last saw them. Jared grows increasingly frustrated by the insistence that “the mountains will save us” because if they were going to they would have stopped Maddox a long time ago, before he invaded, before our fathers died and our mother and uncle sacrificed themselves for us.

Long story short, Jared and Will and Co. eventually move on, only to find a few months later that apparently somebody took their words to heart, because they find a group of people from the mountains have joined the resistance, Mathias included.

And the rest of the story is spoilers so we’ll end there!!

Which (finally lol) brings me to my wonderful, terrible thought.

Genderbend Mathias.

How this affects the storyline:

In the grand scheme of things, no changes. The trio are childhood best friends. Their fathers are killed by Maddox, fem!Mathias and mother flee to Althaan, Jared and Will flee the mountains and join the resistance, yaddah yaddah, things happen as normal, meander through the storyline until the incredibly spoodlery final battle. Basically the same stuff.

But it’s the nuances baybeeeeee

They’re about 8 ish when shit goes downnnn. Maybe old enough for the bare beginnings of a childhood crush.

When they finally reunite and fem!Mathias realizes who they are and sees Jared again for the first time in years, the first unfortunate thought she has is something along the lines of fuck he got hot. But she quickly shoves that thought aside, because Jared’s her childhood friend, and she’s not gonna make things weird dammit.

And all too soon the tensions rise. Fem!Mathias wants the twins to stay, same as the other timeline. Jared and Will are loyal to the resistance, to Rose, and feel the obligation to see this fight through. Fem!Mathias believes that soon enough, the mountains will throw Maddox’s soldiers from their stones. Will doesn’t like fighting, doesn’t like bloodshed, but he’ll fight if needed. Jared is a battle mage, willing to do whatever it takes to protect his remaining family and the family he’s found, and to stop others from suffering as he had.

“Are you saying I can’t fight?” “I don’t know. I’ve haven’t seen you fight enough.” “I’ve helped protect Althaan since I was old enough to learn.” “Oh really? By hiding in the snow while the soldiers surround you?” “You think I can’t fight because I’m a girl!” “Look at Rose. Look at Celia. I’m not arguing you can’t fight. I think you won’t because you’re a coward, because you still believe in gods that are either dead or never existed.” “The mountains will save us Jared. We just have to be patient, have faith.” “Why now? Why not when the soldiers first invaded? Why not when they were starving us, when our fathers died, when Mom and Bartholomew sacrificed everything for me and Will? Why start caring now?”

Fem!Mathias misses her best friends, but she wonders when Jared got so cold, stopped caring about the mountains he grew up in. Jared hates to see his childhood home suffering like this (and he can only imagine how much worse it is in Malthea, where they actually grew up, that is still under Maddox’s thumb). But he knows the best way to protect the mountains and help the people he loves is to fight the problem at the source. Destroying Maddox.

Fast forward a hot minute to the mountain people joining the resistance. Fem!Mathias wonders who proposed to Nashira, and moreover who proposed without telling her what it meant. And when Will finally comes back, and she sees him and Nashira together, she realizes where Will’s loyalties have been this whole time. But where Jared is incredibly clear and vocal about what he believes, Will is quiet, quietly proposing to his girlfriend, quietly deciding to never return home. And where Mathias would tease Will about his kind-of-not-really-secret girlfriend, fem!Mathias instead confronts him alone one night.

“You proposed to her.” I don’t-- “Will.” *sigh* Yes. Don’t tell Jared. He won’t let me live it down. “You never planned to come home.” To let you and your mother know we were alive, yes. To free the mountains once Maddox is gone, yes. To stay, to live forever... no. “Will...” You’ve argued this point with Jared so many times already. “You are not Jared. You don’t have to follow him.” I know. But if anything, Jared is following me in this decision.

And that’s the end of least-amount-of-spoilers-possible city, so ye. Admittedly, these changes could be done with Mathias if I wanted to, but... I dunno. I’m kinda really tempted to do this now lol.

Now I just need to rename her... Riperoni lol
