With all of the money Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, etc. has, you would think one of them would become Batman or Iron Man or something... Instead they're all Lex Luthor.

So much about "We will wait them out, once people will start losing their houses union will fall apart" and "the strike doesn't hurt our bottom line at all", huh?

Tourists seem to understand that nobody wants to work on Thanksgiving, but they also believe everything has to stay open to accommodate them anyway.
First customer interaction of the day
"It's a shame your boss is making you work on Thanksgiving."
Well, I'm here because you're here. Someone has to man the motel. We can't just leave the property unsupervised.
Hours later, different customers
"The sink in our bathroom is leaking all over the floor."
"Okay, I'll send someone over to fix it in just a minute."
"Who are you gonna send on Thanksgiving day? No one's gonna be available!"
WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME? I'm a cashier, I don't fix plumbing! That's not my job! I don't know how to do it! I'm not gonna TRY to do it or else I'll fuck it up even worse! You're complaining about it, but you don't think anyone should have to come out and do anything about it? We have a handyman just for this occasion. If you don't think people should work on Thanksgiving, DON'T TRAVEL ON THANKSGIVING!
I'm a person, I'm a human being, I'm right here in front of you, but you think my time is worth less than yours, less than any other worker's. Why? Why do you think I deserve to be here, but nobody else does? You think my boss is being unreasonable, but you have no qualms against asking me to do odd jobs for you around the property. YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM. If you feel so sorry for me, then STAY HOME!

So I just found out that per NHS England guidelines, I can no longer get Dermol. As in the literal only thing that stops my skin breaking out in a painful red rash and flaking off. My hands were open wounds before I started Dermol.
They are stripping every service offered to the bone. I legitimately need that soap and I don’t know if I can afford to buy it on my own. I feel so angry and miserable and lost and I don’t know what to do.

Mustang car review
This car right here is an entitled asshole. It looks down on poor people and will get offended if you call it rich.

I love the conservative beliefs of "i don't want my taxes used to help anyone but myself" and "why should the rich pay more taxes? It's their money!" Because these people are so optimistic due to privilege (or genuine lack of compassion or even because they themselves had to struggle.) that they are trying to protect a hypothetical possible future rich self from having to pay more taxes.
It just baffles me how these people can unironically think "ah yes I will absolutely become a billionaire within my lifetime" despite the fact that the actual chances of becoming a billionaire are so extremely low that they are almost non-existent and it disgusts me that these people have already decided that if they were to accumulate an ungodly amount of wealth, they would never share even a tiny cut of it to help out those who are less fortunate.

I really hate that recent plot developments mean I have to see more of natsuhi. But they also mean less Rosa and krauss, so you win some/ you lose some.
Also the way the flaws of the parents are represented in their children is great. Even Battler who defined a significant portion of his life by the absence of his father is still defined by the cyclic trauma that is the ushiromiya family. Then for this trauma to reach outside the family and drag orphans in, once there were no new family members to abuse, just fabulous.

"It's the principle that matters here" is what multimillionaire artists say when they're caught launching lawsuits against fans who downloaded their MP3s, or demanding more money for a movie they were already paid millions for, or re-recording their old albums so they can sell the songs to advertisers. "Yes, I personally am a multimillionaire and I don't need the extra money, but what about all the smaller artists in this industry? What about their rights?"
And yet the benefit never seem to filter down to those smaller artists somehow. There are no unsigned artists who are richer because Metallica sued Napster, no unknown actors who got more work because Scarlett Johanssen wanted more money for Black Widow and no obscure bands made any more money because Taylor Swift re-recorded her old albums.
Almost as if "artists rights" becomes a completely meaningless and self-serving concept where ultra-rich people are concerned.

A series of events
The motel is sold out tonight, so we have the big NO VACANCY sign lit up at eye level on the office door.
A customer comes up and starts jiggling the locked doorknob, completely ignoring the equally big RING BELL FOR SERVICE sign that has an arrow pointing towards the doorbell (I'll give him credit, be didn't start rapping his knuckles on the glass, so he's at least smarter than the average tourist)
I let him in, but I'm on the phone with another customer, so I tell him I'll help him when I finish up.
He's smoking a cigarette, I point to the other equally big NO SMOKING sign, so he crushes it out with his fingers and gets ash and tobacco all over the floor.
The phone customer is arguing with his wife over what dates they want, so I nestle the phone in the crook of my neck and ask the walk-in if he has a reservation, that way I can kill two birds with one stone.
He tells me no, he doesn't have one yet, he's looking for a room for tonight.
I point to the NO VACANCY sign and tell him in no uncertain terms that we're full.
He looks at me as if I just said "look at my index finger, ain't it pointy?" and he says "uh, yeah, so? I'm paying cash."
I tell him again that we have no vacancy, and he repeats himself that that shouldn't be an issue because he's paying cash, not card.
Payment is irrelevant, we have zero rooms available, but he argues with me for 30 seconds (I have put the phone on hold at thia point, because this could take a while), demanding that I give him a room.
Surely a motel like us with multiple buildings must have ONE measly room open, and I'm just lying to him for no reason.
I tell him for the final time that every single room is full, there will be no cancelations, and he has to look somewhere else.
He smears the tip of his cigarette all over the counter and says "I was gonna spend THOUSANDS of dollars CASH, so it's your fucking loss buddy," and storms out, slamming the door behind him.
What the fuck do you want me to do, asshole? I can't pull a room out of my ass, and I'm certainly not gonna give someone else's reservation away just because you pay extra. This is a mom and pop shop, first come first serve, we don't take bribes (well, I don't), and we don't kick people out because that would be TERRIBLE for our business. How fucking entitled do you have to be to think that NO VACANCY only applies to the plebs? Our rooms are less than $100 per night, so the only way you'd be paying "thousands" is if you stayed for a full month in a row, which we don't have available either.
I can't stand it anymore. These people are insufferable!
