Massively. These people that I was lucky enough to work with on this record, that I didn’t have the potential on the first, just made such a massive impression on me for multiple different reasons. Even just that Rob wanted to write with me, at first, was dead cool, and I was excited about that. He’s a brilliant, brilliant writer; he does a lot of different stuff. He definitely brought a lot to the table. And he’s someone who understands— obviously he comes from such a credible, cool musical background, but he also understands pop music, and he creates this really interesting hybrid between the two.

The issues addressed include secrecy - which initially defined homosexuality - as well as the demonization of the community with the advent of AIDS, and finally the shift toward acceptance and positivity in the modern era.
