The History of B055

As the design and name gives away, B055 started off as a gijinka for Long Live the New Fresh from JSAB.

(One of the first artworks I did of him, I eventually gave up on the gloves)

My idea for the design was "simple but recognizable" cuz I had planned to cosplay it someday. And that did the trick, as people did recognize him and he apparently became one of the more known Freshes out there.

My idea for him was that his kind was killed years ago due to the prophecy of the great Corruption threatening all of Paradise. But his parents helped him escape and hide where he remained in hibernation till the events of the JSAB.

At the beginning he was primarily a character on my @masked-shenanigans blog, where he was initially mute. Later I changed it and he talks a lot now, being an absolute asshole.

But when I moved him over to his own blog @justshapesandchaos and started added others from the game's cast, I also changed things about him more.

He became a dad, he was actually depressed, stuff like that. And sometime later I had changed him significantly enough that he was more of an OC at that point, starting to use him for other AUs.

Now his current state is:

Dad of two, former DJ and rockstar turned Tattoo Artist / Firefighter. He's Qrybaby's ex and has a few tattoos tied to his past. He has his flaws (like drinking and overworking) but does his best to be a good dad and actually does a good job at that... most of the time.

But as I started building upon his concept and character more I revisited his OG concept of being a New Fresh and added a few updates there as well, like a change to his Annihilate form (which is still being concepted) as well as a change to his arms in his New Fresh form:

Ideas for @localcryptidinthewoods Divine Warriors Rockstar AU

Outside of the band, Shad and Kul'Zak do voice work with Shads being more well known. Shad does a lot of villain and anime character voicework, a lot of low growling that gets made into a shit ton of edits. Has voiced a Call of Duty character or two. Irene has made him cosplay as some of his characters and it becomes ~a thing~

Kul'Zak works under a pseudonym (because he genuinely doesn't want attention) and does a lot of disney animated roles or steven universe esc roles involving singing. The band knows he does this but don't really know the characters.

Menphia volunteers at childrens boxing centers and does appear on a lot of kids shows. She wants to be that one queer auntie that children aspire to be. She does a lot of modeling too (along with Enki and Irene) because her dad was a model and she is drop dead gorgeous.

Enki is a guest host on Ru'auns Drag Race a lot. A He/She/They icon who is kind, educated, and brutal in their critiques of the various kings and queens. The first time she hosted he was in disquise as another Drag King and everyone in the room saw the look and immediately wanted to go home. Did the schtick a second time as a queen to the same result.

Irene does a lot of guest judging and hosting on reality tv shows and has a great deal of fun with it. She also appears on a lot of this worlds CW shows, think like Paris Hilton appearing in supernatural, and is rumored to either be so sweet or a nightmare on set. She is sometimes just "having a bad day" because she and Shad are on another break.

Esmund does a lot of charity volunteer work and builds a lot of houses for homeless folks. He finds manual labor soothing and occasionally he'll get Menphia to join him. Kul'Zak will jokingly offer but with him missing an eye and a leg, they all know he isn't going to help. Esmund has also been trying to appear on Doctor Who for years and is very close to making a guest appearance.

So I was scouring the internet for any trace of your lost and found au cause I feel like I’ve heard that name before and the ask blog name you were using sounds like a blog I’ve read through, but that blog is no longer showing up

Long story short,  please give me all the information you have on the lost and found au you’ve created because I am losing my fucking mind and must know if this is the au I’m thinking about

So in most separated aus, the boys end up with bad guys like Big Mama or Draxum, I kinda wanted to stray away from that so theres lost and found!

In this au the boys are raised with Hueso, April and her mom, a pair of human parents and in an orphanage!

Mikey is with April and her mom, working in a cafe and street painting at night! (Ngl the cafe part is inspired off of aunt cass and her lucky cat cafe from BH6)

Donnie lives with Hueso as a sort of in denial about being his son, he can cook but he doesn’t prefer to, and he lost his arm :((

Raph lives in an orphanage with a few ocs and a baby Casey! Because I can do that. His guardian Or well like the person who runs the orphanage or that side of the orphanage is actually Leos mom! They call her Mama Caterina <33

Leo is a famous rockstar! >:3 He lives with two human parents, his drummer is Yuichi Usagi and I can’t decide who is bassist might be, might end up being an oc :p

The boys are the only ones with proper designs/ref sheets!

If you’d like a fun fact, Raph and Donnie are the only two who are aware of the hidden city, and Raph is the only one who doesn’t know Leo exists

Since Leo is famous they’ve kinda played Leo being a turtle off as a “costume” along with Yuichis! And Mikey they just kinda ignore it tbh, they do not see.

Or well at least regulars, Carol, and April don’t see, the rest are always wondering why Mikey is cosplaying Leo but orange /j /j

And Hueso still runs run of the mill pizza, with Donnie occasionally helping.

We all know that Joel is a love skeptic and puts his guard up because of his trust issues in relationships, so I wanted to give him someone who would understand and be patient with him. He and Milli are opposites on a lot of visual fronts (librarian vs. rockstar, small vs. tall, bubbly and outgoing vs. broody and edgy), but they are one of the definitions of "opposites attract" and the fact that they are just so in love with each other makes those differences so endearing.

Like Joel and Milli, Joonas and Kirsten are total visual opposites. Their personalities are a lot less opposite though. She loves pastel colors and he never parts from his black clothes, but they're both the same flavor of bubbly, outgoing, and fun-loving that there's never a dull moment between them. Kirsten loves a guy who can make her laugh and he was cracking the jokes from their very first meeting -- how could she resist him?

Niko and Jenna are probably the first couple of this group that are more alike than different. They were first crushing on each other because they were probably two of the only few kids in school who shared the emo/goth personality and interests. They were spending hours every night texting each other as love-struck teenagers, and they picked right back up where they left off as adults. They're one of the two couples who best fit the "soulmates" model.

The other soulmates are Olli and Riina, lifelong friends who knew every piece of each other's lives before they ever started dating. They're both high fantasy nerds and Olli loves Riina's medieval cosplays. Riina needed someone who loved her unconditionally and never expected from her any more than she could give in return, and she found that person in Olli. Having twins is also symbolic that their love was more than enough to handle the challenge of raising them.

Niko and Jenna knew what they were doing when they brought Tommi and Marja together. They have the same small-tall visual as Joel and Milli, but they're both equally very private people. Tommi was Marja's type from their first meeting, but his size combined with his calm and patient personality turn out to be comforts for her. He understands where she was coming from before their relationship, and he's quick to love Miikka as his own.

Aleksi and Laila never really seemed like a match. He's quiet, friendly, and hardworking, but she's loud, rude, and generally entitled to what she thinks she deserves in life. She came into their relationship with her bad reputation and just being around her almost brought Aleksi down with her. They're the only "high profile" couple in their pair, whereas the other guys married non-famous women, and that fame was a small contribution to the problems they had.

Aleksi and Hanna, on the other hand, were meant to be. Aleksi wasn't going to let any random girlfriend around Noah, but her background as a psychiatrist taught her how to connect to him and respect him as an autistic child. She knew he was a father and understood that there would be some some time before she met his son. She takes care of him on all the fronts that Laila neglected, and he returns the favor with all the love he can give.

And now, for the last part 👀 (NSFW, of course)

Niko, Jenna, and Marja have basically been a throuple ever since the first relationship. In college, Marja helped Jenna come to the conclusion of her bisexual awakening. Even now, after she and Niko have gotten back together for good, he knows that they frequently sleep together and occasionally gets treated to surprise pics and videos when he's away from home. They've never been the kind of couple to shy away from a sexy threesome and when Tommi comes into the picture as Marja's boyfriend, they like to switch up the combinations.

In my au Virgil and janus’ falling out was actually a really bad breakup

They were dating before Virgil got famous, when he gained popularity janus started distancing themself and saying the two of them weren’t dating. They didn’t like all the fame and didn’t want to be the center of attention so the two of them broke up on bad terms and janus got with Remus afterward on a rebound at first but they actually ended up falling in love with Remus. This was before Virgil hired Roman Logan and Patton.

Forgive me for making yet another extremely self-indulgent post about Byakuya, courtesy of Miyavi (who plays live-action Byakuya in the Bleach movie). Thanks to Miyavi, we have Byakuya out here in the human world, living his best rockstar/celebrity/actor/humanitarian life.

A couple weeks ago I went to a Miyavi concert. I knew I was in for a good show, but boy oh boy, I could not have predicted how amazing it was. Miyavi is of course, a fashion icon, and I was excited to see what human world Byakuya was going to wear. Not in my wildest dreams though did I expect THIS:

IT’S GRIMMJOW Y’ALL. Of course Byakuya would cosplay as Grimmjow for his rockstar AU. Think of how many band AU stories there are out there (and I'm sure Byakuya is always something like the manager if he's in them at all). Well, in Byakuya's inner fantasy, HE gets the spotlight.

I also managed to get incredibly close to the stage. I really never expected to be this… close.

Of course I had an amazing time at the show, and it was made even better by thinking "wow, Byakuya is really going for it here." (yes, I am that person). But asdlkjfalkgdjh Byakuya!Grimmjow!rockstar AU isn't something I thought I was missing from my life, but it was.

Ultimate Otaku!Kiyotaka and ultimate popstar!Mondo

Gosh. That is not an easy swap, but I like how you think.

Really it's Taka that makes this hard. Because that boy is just...not creative. I love him, but that's just not how his brain works. And creativity is kinda the basis of the Ultimate Otaku role?

His saving grace is his tendency to obsess over things. Because while he isn't exactly creative, he IS passionate. I can see him as a very nerdy, analytic Otaku. Not really making cosplays, but instead making 45 minute video essays on whatever piece of media he's into. Be it talking about the lore, the animation, the soundtrack, or whatever.

Taka studies what he likes, so I think this would be really fitting for him as a character. Also, you KNOW he's aware of the plague of overworking in animation and he pushes HARD against it.

His backstory would have to be pretty seriously changed, because I can't see Kiyotaka "anime is a waste of time!" Ishimaru being an otaku unless his family has a history in the anime field.

Maybe his grandfather was some famous animated film director, or like the head of an animation company? So Taka grew up surrounded with that kind of thing. Perhaps he sees the medium as a means of inspiration, telling the stories of heroic men and women defeating the world's evils. With how bold and morality focused Taka is, I can see him looking up to those kinds of protagonists, and somewhat replicating them in his behavior.

And honestly, he already talks like an anime protag in canon. Tell me that the quote "No matter how intensely the stormy seas may batter me, I will not fall as long as my feet are firmly planted! And if you can't do it alone, just find someone to support you, and you can support them back! That's how you can overcome any storm!" doesn't sound like it's from an anime. I dare you.

Toranosuke, per usual, gets into a scandal. Overworking animators, stealing ideas, firing whistleblowers... Typical bad boss behavior. Suddenly the fame of Ishimaru productions is crumbling under lawsuits and shame.

So Taka grows up dedicated to not letting that kind of corruption ruin an otherwise respectable medium. So while he got his title for his Otaku interests, Taka's main focus is ensuring that animation studios follow protocol and don't overwork workers. But Ultimate "whistleblower but specifically for violations in the animation industry" is a terrible title, so Ultimate Otaku it is.

Mondo is way easier to make, because being a popstar isn't fundamentally against his personality. I definitely see him being more of a "bad boy" type of figure than your typical popstar swap. Maybe he's more of an Ultimate Rockstar? He has tons of photoshoots with a motorcycle, his hair is still in the pomp, ect. He wouldn't be in a biker gang in this au, but that'd be his aesthetic. Heck, he could be in a punk rock boy band called the Crazy Diamonds.

And really his backstory wouldn't need to change much either. Mondo follows Daiya's footsteps into a musical career, but is always seen as "Daiya's little brother" rather than his own person. Then some accident happens that takes Daiya out of commission in some way.

But what would be the accident in thi au, since neither of them are actually bikers? Maybe Mondo decides to prove that he's more of a badass than his brother is. Sure Daiya acts tough for the camera, but Mondo can actually hold his own.

But he can't really. He doesn't know how to fight, his muscles are for show more than anything else. Mondo goes to pick a fight to prove himself, only to realize that he only has the bravado of a tough guy.

Daiya comes to save him from getting himself murdered, because of course he does. That's what big brothers are for. Unfortunately Daiya only has slightly more fighting experience than Mondo so, it doesn't end great. Daiya's still super dead in this au.

I feel like this Taka and Mondo talentswap does little to actually change their dynamic and underlying issues. Mondo would still have his hyper masculine complex, because knowing that such a mentality got his brother killed wouldn’t stop him from using it as emotional protection. Mondo’s bad boy persona was a facade for the camera, but now it’s become a shield from his guilt.

Taka would be less focused on overcoming his grandfather, and more focused on making sure others cannot commit the same crimes as his grandfather. But he still has that strong sense of duty, like he has to repent and heal the Ishimaru name.

I really hope this week goes well because as long as I can 1. not spend any money and 2. nothing catastrophic happens, this sweetheart and I will be going to a really cool Halloween concert this coming Friday. Dead! - a really good MCR cover band- is doing their annual show in Harrisburg earlier than usual, and as someone that saw The Black Parade tour I can promise you they do a great job at conveying the same energy that MCR did back then. Since I was supposed to be seeing MCR this year and I’m not, it is a joy and pleasure to take my favorite demon with me. She has requested that we take our cosplays and film more tiktoks in our hotel room, to which I agreed on the condition that she accompany me to my favorite book store in character because I would like to know if any of the staff will recognize us. I’m sure they will, but it’ll be a treat anyway. 

Also, they have the best iced coffee I’ve ever tasted.

I’m working on a Punk Aziraphale cosplay for Friday night since it’s a costume party and she’s using my rockstar AU as inspiration for a ‘Rocker Crowley’. We will take so many pictures. And videos. And TikToks. So keep your fingers crossed for us. 

We already had a minor set back when I went to the store, thrifted EXACTLY what I needed for Aziraphale’s look, and then accidentally confused my purchases with something I was donating. I had to call the store, bother the poor people working and then make the 45 minute drive back to the store and thankfully they were able to find almost everything they’d already started sorting for sale. 

This angel is just too expensive for me. I need a cheaper character to cosplay. Perhaps one without standards.
