Capitalism kills creativity.

I think one of the reasons I've had that has made writing so difficult for me over the past decade is honestly because I stopped writing for enjoyment and began writing for the purpose of making sure I make money. It stems from when I was in High School and I expressed my desire to be a creative as a career, and I was told the inevitable "you won't make a lot of money". This placed a sort of fear within me, fear that I wouldnt be able to take care of myself, or make enough to leave home.

I grew up in a very toxic household and I wanted nothing more than to get out of there, so I put all my focus into trying to make the most money, and in the process my creative passion died, making it difficult to even drudge up the desire to write or draw. Because of this, I stopped creating altogether, which meant that the opposite of what I wanted to happen happened: in my fear of not being able to make enough, I had effectively paralyzed myself, and I made nothing. The ironic thing is that my creations from before this point were fairly good, and I'm sure that if I had stuck with doing what I truly enjoyed, I would have brought in people who really enjoyed what I made, and I would have ended up making a fair amount of money naturally.

I am just now starting to undo those seeds of failure that were planted in me, and I'm learning to trust that by no longer trying to cater to profitability, I can support myself much better than doing everything for money. And of all things, I have a fanfiction that I've really been wanting to write, but I was holding myself back from doing so because fanfiction is not something that makes money, and my mind was focused on trying to survive. But...I still want to write it, and I guess that means giving up the notion of trying to make money out of everything I do, and still trusting that despite that, I will be okay and that money will still come to me even if one thing I put my effort into isn't "profitable". I'm tired of suffering. I want to bring myself more joy. And it's scary, but I'm going to let myself anyway.

May the capitalistic machine die.

I know that it's ironic to say that being a business major, but my major is simply a tool of practicality for this society. The purpose of it, for me, is to better learn how to share and spread awareness of what I've created. I think even from the haze of financial fear, all I wanted to do was share things with people that I created. All I want to do is connect with people at the core of all this.

Let’s Talk About: The Root Chakra

The root chakra is the first chakra, associated with the color red, and rules your tailbone, feet and glutes (the part of you that touches the ground when you walk or sit).

The root chakra governs your groundedness and feeling safe in your body and environment. It’s what helps you feel rooted and stabilized. It quite literally roots your energy into the planetary grid. Think of your root chakra as the metal conductors on a plug and how when you connect it to the wall socket a flow of energy is formed. That’s how the root chakra works with your own energy.

Root Chakra Blockages

Blockages can occur when your safety is threatened—abuse, physical assaults, being stalked, living around unstable people or in unstable conditions, to name a few. Or when your space, autonomy, or rights are violated—sexual assault or similar things.

You may also struggle with root chakra imbalances if you struggle to ground your energy through your full system, ie your energy is sort of stuck in the crown. That’s why spiritual people say it’s important to ground yourself. You can get so crown heavy you disconnect from your body and struggle to move or operate it. This has happened to me.

As a naturally spiritual person, I actually struggle to move my energy down to my root. Especially because my way of dealing with not feeling safe was to escape into daydreams or to go find somewhere to hide alone. I’m used to keeping my energy up higher, in my crown and third eye, where it’s safer. As I’ve been healing I’ve consciously been pushing my energy down. It usually gets blocked starting at throat chakra then down.

Signs of Root Chakra Imbalances:

— feeling spacy or unable to focus (struggling to ground the energy from your mind)

— feeling separate from your body or dissociation (struggling to ground due to a disconnect in your flow of energy through your energetic field)

— feeling paranoid about your safety, or like thinking people are out to get you, being so worried about someone breaking into your house, etc. (not grounding into the safety of this now moment via your mental body)

— shutting down, if you freeze or shut down in response to conflict or other triggering, this is a sign of root chakra imbalance at the point of entry of the root chakra

— anxiety, aka excessive fear about things outside of your now moment

— lower back pain or feet and ankle issues

How to Heal Your Root Chakra:

— somatic exercise, specifically yoga around hip opening exercises, and thigh stretching, stretching of the glutes, this can carry a lot of trauma associated with the root chakra

— eating root vegetables

— walking barefoot on the ground

— sitting and meditating on the ground, connect the palms of your hands to the ground and imagine energy flowing up through you from all the skin contact you make with the ground, lying down will be the most contact

— spending time outside

— eating heavy food or wearing heavy clothes (since root chakra imbalances struggle to ground you, eating things or wearing things that add weight can force you down too—that’s how weighted blankets work. They weigh the person down so they can feel more safe when they are having anxiety aka a root chakra imbalance because anxiety is rooted in fears that are usually not present at the moment

— building muscle, again adds weight and can make you feel more grounded in your body

— surround yourself with the color red and things that light you up with passion

The Root Chakra is a Big Part of understanding our Energetic Foundation. However how do we even know if we have a healthy or imbalanced root chakra? With the release of The Chakra Detox Clearing Audio Meditation bundle in the Membership this month, I wanted to spend some time going into the deeper questions on Chakra Healing for those who are curious to learn more on Energy healing. This is one of my most passionate topics to talk on.

I thought we could take a different approach this time and start to look at each individual Chakra. 

Starting with The Root Chakra

Last Week we went deep on: How does Chakra Healing actually work BTS? 

Now, in relationship to knowing how chakra healing works, we have to start looking at: well, Do I have any imbalances or blocks in my chakra system? How do I know for sure? 

Now, it’s very common to have a blocked or an imbalanced root chakra due to our society at large. 

Unfortunately, we are a very fear-driven society. When we have a spiritual awakening, a big piece of it is learning how to evolve ourselves out of the survival mind and into a place of the New paradigm, Thriving in that 5d consciousness, that lives beyond fear.

Of course fear is normal and a very natural part of life – However When we have a root chakra imbalance or block, FEAR and Survival is often all we can think about in our Worldview. 

The Root Chakra is an important chakra to balance as it helps us:

Regulate our Nervous system

Move out of Lack/Scarcity Consciousness

Feel a Sense of Belonging

Feel safe and Supported in your body 

And so forth. 

The Root Chakra also helps us literally feel “grounded” which is an important skill as an energy sensitive, HSP or Empath. (without question lol)  The root is the place of our Energetic foundation that is located at the base of our spine. It holds immense power in shaping our sense of safety, support, and connection with the world around us. Let’s dive into the signs and symptoms of a blocked root chakra versus a Balanced Root Chakra. However, First, you might be asking yourself:

What’s the Difference Between an Imbalanced Chakra vs. Blocked Chakras?

A blocked chakra is usually a chakra that’s been blocked over a period of time(years even) and that chakra has blocked energetic flow in a particular chakra. An Imbalanced chakra is a little bit different because an imbalance can often be overactive or underactive energy flowing through the body. This means the chakra has very little flow in the chakra or an Excessive amount of Energy in that chakra.

Signs of An Imbalanced Root

What are the common signs of a blocked Root Chakra? Imbalances in this chakra can manifest in various ways, leading to feelings of fear, insecurity, and disconnection. Individuals with a blocked energy in this chakra may experience a constant sense of paranoia, believing that the world is against them. This fear-driven mentality often results in a lack mindset, where scarcity and lack of abundance dominate one’s thoughts.

Moreover, a blocked root chakra can trigger survival instincts, pushing individuals into a fight-or-flight mode. This survivalistic mindset engulfs them in feelings of uncertainty and inadequacy, hindering their ability to feel safe and supported in their environment. The lack of belonging and connection further exacerbates the root chakra imbalance, creating a sense of isolation and alienation from oneself and others.

Balancing the Root Chakra for Healing

On the contrary, a balanced root chakra instills a profound sense of security, support, and abundance in one’s life. Individuals with balanced root chakras exude a feeling of safety and trust in the universe, knowing that they are supported in their spiritual journey. This alignment with the root chakra enables them to cultivate an abundance mindset, where the focus shifts from scarcity to prosperity and growth.

A person with a balanced root chakra will have a deep sense of connection with oneself and the world around them, leading to feelings of belonging and self-assurance. By embracing the healing power of the root chakra, individuals can transcend survival instincts and embrace a state of peace, harmony, and inner stability.

During my next plant medicine experience, this time with a Sacred Healer from Emporium Black, I will be meditating on lessons from the Queen of Cups card throughout more shadow work writing exercises. 💚🥰 The main message from this card is to treat yourself with compassion and sympathy.

base chakra challenges for starsouls & empaths

I've just come off a retreat where it's been highlighted, yet again, just how challenging it is for beings of starsoul origin to even *feel* the base chakra

I can empathise with that. It's challenging, and can be even painful.

HOWEVER

It's now more important than ever that all those who feel they are starsouls to really, really, really work on grounding and *embodying* their energies

You are needed. Your energy is needed. Gaia needs you and your support to move forward in the shift, to the highest benefit of all.

Yes, bringing your energy down and fully embodying it is going to feel weird at first, or off, or strange.

That is likely due to you adjusting to the density of the first chakra. As a starsoul, you're more familiar with ~ and comfortable in ~ the higher, faster, lighter vibrations.

And so the lower, slower, denser vibration of the base chakra can feel wrong

HOWEVER

If you *are* a starsoul, your mission on this planet is to embody your energy

And that means not simply chilling in the higher vibrations

That means bringing ALL OF YOU all the way DOWN and EMBODY

How can it be done?

First, accept that it will not feel light and sweet, not at first.

Second, begin working on bringing your energy into the base. Breath is a great way ~ as you exhale, breathe through the body, all the way down to the bottom of your spine

It doesn't matter whether you feel anything in particular there, not at first. Simply breathe down.

Hold your attention at the bottom of the spine. Work to do so as often as possible throughout the day.

You might feel reluctant to fully embody, for fear losing that beautiful, higher connection.

From my own experience, that may at first even seem true

HOWEVER

The more you embody your unique frequency, the more *enhanced* the higher vibrations become. Clearer, more powerful, and the very thing most people are looking for ~ fulfilling.

Yes, it can be hard and challenging, painful and frightening

Still ~ that isn't a reason to turn back. Keep going ~ and life will be magical beyond compare
