From Davis Ray: It took me 55 years to make this quilt! At 10 years old, in 1968, I told my mom I wanted to make a quilt for my bed. She gave me fabric and suggested I trace a postcard. Smart woman…I wouldn’t have to match corners! Well, time flies and here I am in 2023, aged 65. I retired and finally finished it. Mom is 99 years old and I am thrilled to have a photo of both of us with the quilt. I hand sewed a pocket on the back to hold the postcard, photos and the story of this quilt.

Okay so, my process for drawing Sonic characters usually amounts to 'severely winging it', like so:

I draw a circle, I ignore the circle, you know how it is. I'm not sure I'd be super helpful trying to explain how I do it dfbfh

I’m not superrrrr knowledgeable on arm anatomy so here’s some like. Notes and tips I keep in mind when I’m drawing them that I’ve learned over time :)

This was supposed to be part of the expression tutorial, but i don't know what to note here other than its hard to 1:1 recreate a human expression on a sonic character. You really gotta adapt it.

Free Crochet Pattern: Wild Rose

I constructed this granny square this past week after my mother brought me one of the roses growing on a vine she planted.

Materials

Red Heart Super Saver acrylic yarn, worsted weight, size 4 (colors: Minty, Light Blue, Petal Pink, and White)

Inscraft acrylic yarn, worsted weight, size 4 (specific names unspecified, two shades of light and medium pink, and golden yellow) (note: some Inscraft yarn may be thinner than Red Heart Super Saver)

Crochet hook size 4.5mm and 5.0mm

Pattern

Row 1: Magic circle

Row 2: 6 sc, SL st into first (alternate: 8 sc) (6-8)

Row 3: Color change (optional), 1 sc, 1 inc, 1 sc, 1 inc, 2 sc, SL st into first (alternate: 8 sc) (8)

Row 4: Color change (optional), chain two, in the same stitch, make 2 unfinished dc, stitch together to form the first cluster. In the same stitch, make another 3-dc cl. Alternate between making 2-dc cl and 3-dc cl, crocheting two clusters in the next 7 stitches. You should have 16 clusters. Sl st into the first cluster (16)

Row 5: Color change (optional) between each cluster, chain 2, make 3 unfinished double crochet, stitch together. Make 4-dc cl in the next 15 spaces, making 16 cl.

(optional: ch 1 between cl, or as needed), sl st into first cluster (16-32)

Row 6: Between two clusters, ch 3, 2 tr, ch 2, in the same space 3 tr, in the next space make 3dc, 3 hdc in the next space, 3 dc, 3 tr, ch 2, 3 trc, 3 dc, 3 hdc - and so on, until round is finished (68)

My granny square measures approximately 5.1"×5.1"

Size may vary depending on your yarn, tension, and hook size.
