Hey romance readers 💕
It's time for ROUND THREE of the Romance Readathon! I'm so happy to bring it back again plus we have an extra leap day this time around! For the entire month of February (1st-29th) I will read as many romance books as I can so join me in swooning over some fictional characters 🥺
If anyone wants a challenge, here are this year's reading prompts:
read a romance with a three word title
read a romance with one of the colors of the sun on the cover (yellow/orange/red)
read a romance from a bipoc author
read a romance set in your favorite season
read a romance set in a country different than yours
Please feel free to double up on prompts, no problem!
Use the hashtag #rr2024 for all posts related to the readathon. This can be your TBR, a book review, rant, reading update, absolutely anything you want.
Happy reading! 🩷

This was such a sweet story! I loved the focus on family, cooking, and finding happiness is unexpected places. I loved Dylan, he was so kind. Especially when he was dealing with an asshole customer or his boyfriends (very rich and slightly obnoxious) family. And Theo, the fake date/boyfriend was such a sweetheart. I loved that he just wanted to hangout and be around Dylan and his family. I also loved how close Dylan’s family was and that they actually acted like a family with all the teasing and jokes and working together. It was just so nice to see in a YA book!
Honestly, I think this is gonna be one of my favorite books I’ve read this year! It felt like home, even though I’ve never been to Brooklyn or had the chance to eat some of the foods mentioned in the story. It was just that good. Fake Dates And Mooncakes is getting five out of five stars!
Reading Challenge Prompt Fills:
Alphabet challenge: F
Romance Readathon: a romance with one of the colors of a sun on the cover (orange), a romance set in your favorite season, a romance by a BIPOC author

Romance Readathon - Update 2
Finished Love, Theoretically after 10 days 🙈 I've had no time to read during the day due to office so I made myself read a big chunk on the weekend.
It was the same old plot as The Love Hypothesis. Guess you've read one, you've read them all.
Up next: Ocean's Echo 🩵 Been on my TBR since foreverrrr! I'm 50 pages in and it's already loads better.
Behold! My new hydrangea plant 🪴

JOMP day 20
Lgbtqia +
My current audiobook, about 2 1/2 hours left … it’s alright
It’s also good for some romance readathon prompts: a bipoc author & colors of the sun on the cover (a popular prompt for me 😂)
Kinda weird this month it’s one of 2 ya books I’ve read so it’s vibing differently than everything else I’ve read recently 😅 but I do have another ya book I’m hoping to get to before the end of the month

The Fake Dating Trope by Jennifer Ann Shore
Kate is bookish and likes to be left alone. Lucas is a star baseball player at her school. When they bump into each other in the library, it doesn't seem like much of anything, but the next day, when Kate's car breaks down, Lucas offers to fix it for free, if she agrees to be his fake girlfriend.
Although the characters weren't as drawn-out as some of Shore's other characters, I found The Fake Dating Trope yo be really fun and sweet. Kate and Lucas made a great romantic pair, but unlike Shore's other books, the rest of the characters kind of floated around. I couldn't remember through most of the book whether Zoe or Daphne was Kate's friend and which was the friend's girlfriend, they just blended together through most of the story.
Besides those characters, other characters would be mentioned, but might only show up in two or three scenes. Overall, this was a fun, cute book that was very self-aware of the genre it was, but compared to other books by the author, this felt more like a 3.5 than 5-star read. That being said, I cannot wait to read what Shore writes next.
Recommended for: fans of the fake dating trope (hello, it's in the title!), fans of YA, anyone looking to read a book set in Pennsylvania.

Romance Readathon - Update 3
I've started Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross ✨ I've got 100 pages left in Ocean's Echo but I'm not getting any time to read that. So I've switched to the audiobook for Ruthless Vows. This might be my last book for the readathon. Let's see how it goes.

This was one of the swooniest romances that I think I’ve ever read. I had all of these giddy, happy, swoony feelings floating around in my brain and I literally had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading Take A Hint. It was just so sweet and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Dani and Zaf were so sweet and lovely and swoony. I loved that they were both so gone for each other (even before the fake dating) and how their fake dating made them realize that they might be more than just friends. I also really enjoyed both Dani and Zaf’s inner monologues! They were hilarious and relatable on so many levels. I just really loved them. Anyway, this is getting five stars and I’m so excited for Eve’s book! 😊
