Papa Arc: Tell me son, why are you so infatuated with this bird faunus girl?
Jaune: Oh you haven't heard dad?
Papa Arc: Heard what?
Jaune: It was my understanding that everyone had heard.
Papa Arc: Just tell me, what?
Jaune: You seriously haven't heard?
Papa Arc: Heard what?
Jaune: That the bird is the word.
Papa Arc: ...
Taiyang: You not only have my permission, but my blessing and my love, son.

Bird!Faunus Ruby: Good Morning Honey! Would you like an Egg?
Jaune: Sure! Thanks!
Jaune: This is pretty good! I thought we were out though. Did you go get some?
Ruby: ...
Jaune: But then why would there be one egg?
Ruby: ...
Jaune: Why is there only one Egg Ruby?

Jaune: *Looking at a ton of skewers all around his room* What the hell?
Ruby: *on his back with her cheek close to his* You like it?
Jaune: You did this?
Ruby: Yep, i didn't know what kind of skewer you wold like so i made many kinds
Jaune: Even one of insects, dead rodents and lizards?
Ruby: Ignore those three. I just did what my mom did to propose dad
Jaune: She made a bunch of skewers to propose your dad?
Ruby: Yep, apparently, make skewers is normal for our kind of faunus
Jaune: That would explain why all your food was in a brochette since we meet... You know what? Screw it, i accept
Ruby: *happy bird noises*
~Meanwhile~
Tai: Honey, dinners ready!
Summer: *running to her seat* What do we have for dinner?
Tai: I made some pasta for dinner
Summer: *sad bird noises*
Tai: The pasta its in brochettes
Summer: *happy bird noises*
------
Fun fact: The Lanius Ludovicianus AKA Loggerhead shriek or butcherbird is a small bird that use thorns and barbed wire to impale its preys to eat due to its small size and weak talons. Its preys may vary from lizards, small rodents, insects and according to Wikipedia, amphibians, small birds and small mammals

it seems parrots talk to appliances. Do the bird Faunus do that?
Unfortunately, I couldn't find any information to really confirm or deny this fact. The stuff I did find talked about parrots not responding to recordings, tearing up towels and dancing around them, and rubbing their "bird bits" all over stuff and people during their puberty. That and also parrots being able to notice if a person is not speaking their native tongue.
But I'd hate to leave you empty handed, so I'll give you something at least.

Ruby: (Sitting next to bed) And then, the girl in the Red Hood said, "Looks like my little sickle isn't so little anymore~!" And they all lived happily ever after. (Tucks blanket in) Goodnight, Crescent Rose. (Pecks)
Weiss: Ruby, have you seen my... Were you just... reading a bedtime story to your weapon? IN MY BED?
Ruby: Ssshhh! You're gonna wake her!

Ruby-crowned Kinglet (Corthylio calendula)
April 3, 2025
Southeastern Pennsylvania
I suspect this one is a female because I saw no trace of a ruby crown in any of my photos, although it is hidden in the males most of the time.
Also this is as close as they ever come to standing still.

Ruby: ...
Jaune: *Gently strokes Ruby's hair*
Ruby: *Soft cooing noises*

~In the Future~
Peahen Faunus!Ruby: Oh no! My Feathers are getting brighter!
Dilf Jaune: Whoa ... They look beautiful ...
Ruby: I know, but they're bright and blue and brilliant, and it screws with my whole aesthetic! *Sniffle* It also means I'm getting old!
Jaune: Hey! There's nothing wrong with getting old, It's just another part of life! You're still beautiful and I still love you!
Ruby: *Sniffle* R-Really?
Jaune: Yeah, Of course! And, if you embrace it, would look really cool if you mixed in the greens and blues of your feathers!
Ruby: I'm ... not doing that. I'm Ruby Rose, not Saphire Rose.
Fun Fact! Peahen (Female Peacocks) are colored mottled brown, in order to blend in while the males have the brilliant, bright colorations for intimidation and Courting rights. As Peahen age and their ovaries die, they stop producing estrogen which causes their feather to cease being brown, and appear more masculine.

Ouuugh. Sorry for being slow on refilling the queued posts, I'm working on a new batch now. In the mean time, enjoy my favorite picture I have ever taken of some hummingbirds:

Female hummingbird. A male has been coming for about a week (males arrive early to establish territories, females arrive later when food sources are more reliable) but only when it's dark, way before sunrise or well after sunset. This is the first female I've seen this season and this was early morning too but with just enough light for my camera. Welcome back, smol friend!

Living proof that a hummingbird's tongue is twice as long as its impressively long beak.
Move over Gene Simmons, this hummingbird has you beat!

Mythical Creature

Is it a flying narwhale, a unicorn with wings, or a garden fairy? Nope, it is a ruby throated hummingbird (Archilochus colubris). I just happen to catch this little bird buzzing by near a spot where I was photographing larger and slower birds. There hummingbirds flap their wings 53 time per second. I think that my shutter speed was set at 1/1000 and still didn't freeze the wings. Anyway, I like the composition of this photo and chose it for today over photographs with better detail.
