Can't just love me in pieces gotta love it all
Day 2 laughter/tears
@oprarepairweek
Law sat leaning against the Sunnys mast, his hat pulled down as he observed the blonde cook of the starwhats. Blackleg-ya had at first reminded him far to much Cora, the hair, the cigarettes, the hearts that followed him when he spoke and twirled around a woman. That was where the similarities ended, where Cora had been clumsy and accident prone, Blackleg-ya acted as if he was born upon the sea. His moves were graceful and fluid even when fighting. Almost as if he was dancing.
The blonde cook was kind. He hid it behind his shouts and swears, but Law had seen him. Had seen how attentive to everyone's needs he was, he only made a show of it to the women aboard. It was a shield to protect himself.
The silly wanted posters really didn't do the man justice. He was beautiful. He watched as the man tipped his head back and laughed, his golden hair catching in the sun, a glowing halo around his head. Eyes crinkled in the corners, his mouth wide and happy. He wanted to hear his laughter and wanted to be the reason for his smile. Law felt his heart skip a beat.
“Shit,” Law had fallen in love, he was fucked.
This was not a part of his plans, he may have asked for this alliance but when it was over they would be enemies both after the same thing…that is what it would be if he by some miracle made it out alive.
<>
Sanji watched Law stick his Ōdachi into the ground as he snuck to his knees, the sword being the only thing holding him up at this point.
They had managed to defeat Blackbeard. Avenging Ace and the Heart Pirates. Sanji sat next to the man he had fallen in love with. Something he never thought he'd do, the only other man he was in love with was Luffy, but the whole crew loved their captain with everything they were, so it didn't really count. You couldn't help it.
Law sobbed, his tears wetting the ground beneath him. Law was finally free to mourn his crew, his friends, and his family. Sanji rubbed the man's back. He wasn't alone. After what felt like hours, the black haired man's tears ran dry and slumped against Sanji shulder. He wiped the man's wet checks with his sleeve, Law looked tired, as if he just wanted to sleep forever.
“What now? What do I do now? I've always had a goal in mind, defeating Doflamingo, justice for Cora, freeing Wano taking down Kadio. Just as I found a new goal, Blackbeard destroyed everything! Yet now he's been taken care of, Bepo and I joined your crew, now I'm left without a puporpes,”
“You have time Law, just being around Luffy I know you'll find it eventually, he's good at that sorta thing,” Sanji brushed his hand against Law black locks, this was probably as close as they would ever get. He would take whatever Law would give him. Sanji had no plans on telling him how much he had fallen in love with the surgeon of death.
With his sharp features, inky black hair, and the tattoos across his skin, how could he compare to him? Sanji knew Law was smart, he was a surgeon for fucks sake! What did he a mear cook have to give to this man who could have anyone he wanted?
<>
“I did it!” Sanji laughed, his joy was contgias law couldn't help but to smile. “I found the All blue!”
It was time. Law had this planned for as long as they had been on the trail of the All blue his Sanji stood thire gazeing at his dream, his blue eyes sparkled with joy, his hair aglow in sunlight just like the day he realized he had fallen for the other man. Law got down on one knee and took out the ring box. He had gotten him a realistic heart made from Ruby's.
“Sanji,” Law started speaking. He had practiced this over and over again. Sanji turned to look at him. “I fell in love with you on our way to Dressrosa. At the time, I was certain that I was a dead man walking. I still wasn't ready to admit a thing back in Wano. It didn't matter how much I wanted you. We are on opposing crews. Yet you were, therefore, when I lost everything but Bepo. You kept me sane. You are the stars to my night sky. I would be empty without you, would you black leg Sanji marry me?” Sanji had his hands covering his mouth, tears streaking down his cheeks. Sanji finally removed his hands. His smile was blinding.
“Yes! Fuck Law! I can't believe this!” Law stood up and Sanji threw himself into his arms.
“I love you,” Law cupped Sanji's face in his hands and kissed him.

I Think I Need Someone Older: A Nikari AU

Take the weight off your shoulders
Think I need someone older
Older by Isabel LaRosa
Nikita Mears is a young assassin freshly recruited into Division’s ranks. When her latest mission puts her in the path of one of Zetrov’s top executives, she is stunned to realize that the man she has been sent to kill is capable of stealing something far more precious from her instead.
It would have been significantly easier to carry out her task if he wasn’t the most beautiful mark that she had ever laid eyes on.
Though she was relatively new to her vocation, Nikita Mears prided herself on being a consummate professional and all the things an assassin was heralded for, including keeping a firm check on her emotions.
It didn’t help matters that her target also possessed the kind of resonant, smooth baritone that instantly made heat gather below her stomach, or that in spite of the silver in his hair and neatly groomed beard, he was unbearably attractive.
Her pulse quickened when his eyes – a stormy, startling blue, even from a distance – caught her own across the room.
She began to internally curse her choice of dress, which was not only vibrant ruby in shade but also skimmed the curves of her shapely form well enough to make her stand out in a crowd and then hissed under her breath to her current handler. “You could have warned me that he was so hot, Michael!”
There was a beat before her superior replied, amusement in his gravelly tone. “So you go for older men?”
“That’s beside the point!” frantically, she scanned the room, looking for a quick exit strategy. “Why does Percy want to get rid of Ari Tasarov in the first place? Isn’t he one of the higher-ups at Zetrov now?”
“Your guess is as good as mine.”
She glanced back at the podium to see that her quarry had disappeared, and muttered darkly under her breath, wondering where he had gone off to so quickly.
There was a light tap on her shoulder, which caused her to whirl and almost smack directly into the man she had been searching for.
Those eyes of his sparkled playfully. “Hello.”
“Hi,” she exhaled, her heart cartwheeling in her chest. Up-close: it was devastating how good-looking he was.
With a warm smile that suited his attractive features, Ari extended his hand out. “May I have this dance?”
Nikita only hesitated a second before taking it.

Under Obama's two terms Democrats lost a net 13 Governorships and 816 state legislative seats.
As well as a net loss of 12 US Senate seats and 64 House seats since he was sworn in.
A staggering gutting of party-power. Including at one point every single legeslative chamber in the south, with Ky's House being among the last to fall
It was the most party losses down ballot of any president since Dwight Eisenhower.
Biden's 2024 presidential run is looking a lot more fragile than Obama's 2012 run.
National polls have Biden losing to Trump in pretty much every swing state.
Including a stunning average of +2.3 Trump lead in Pennsylvania and +5.7 in Nevada.
Yet, in Michigan, Trump is up only by +0.2.
Whats even stranger is the vote for control of the House is basically tied. (2020 saw Democrats hold a +3.1 advantage after all ballots were counted, and 2016 Republicans only held a mear +1.1 vote lead).
Trump leads Biden +4.7 in Arizona, yet the Dem Senate candidate is leading by +4 points.
Dems are running +4 in the Michigan Senate race.
Trump is + 5.7 in Nevada, but the US Senate race for Nevada has dems +6.
In Florida, an absolute bloodbath for dems for years now, Scott - a former Republican Gov no less, leads by just 2 points.
In Ruby-red Ohio Democrat Senator Brown is up by five.
Things like this do not happen in modern political races. They just don't.
Polling looks ready to predict Biden losing the WH but Democrats holding the Senate and taking the US House back -- suggesting an unparalleled level of vote-splitting and scores of Millennials and Gen-zers voting for Trump but Dems down ballot.
This might end up the strangest election year in decades.

Day 4 - NaNoWriMo 2022
START: 2:00 PM END: 3:30 PM DAILY WORD COUNT: 1,841 TOTAL WORD COUNT: 10,824
Words came easy when I brought myself to write them. My schedule is slipping so chances are I’ll end up writing more before bed, but those will count toward tomorrow’s batch. Crossed 10K! A fifth of the way through NaNo on Day 4 isn’t bad. I think I’ll be closer to 70K for this draft, and I think I can manage that this month, even with my other projects.
One concern: Orientation isn’t organic to me. The location is a bit of a maze. And the timeline is rough as well. I had no trouble pantsing my way through today, but it will need shoring up in the edit.
One surprise: Blake has more agency at this point than I expected, and Margaret is surprisingly fun to write. As is Ruby! She appeared at the end of the current chapter and I didn’t know what I’d get out of her, but I’m pleased and surprised.
One delight: When I finished my words for today I still had energy to work on another project.

Dragon Faunus au: can I please ask for Jaune finding out who it was stalking him and confronting them?
Mobile Easel
Jaune: So… Pray tell… Why are you here? Definitely not for the sights I take it.
Sienna: I came to meet you, your Grace.
Jaune: Ahh… So it’s more dragon related faunas crap. Peachy.
Sienna: Is that a surprise, your Grace?
Jaune: No, but I do find it uncomfortable. I feel like some sort of zoo exhibit. And, please don’t call me your grace, king, or whatever silly titles you can possibly give me. Jaune is just fine.
Sienna: Very well then. So it seems you have accepted your nature as a faunas, I heard you were denying it, and posing as a human.
Jaune: That’s not true… entirely. I never hid the fact I was a faunas from anyone, I just don’t have any visible traits that scream: ‘Hey, that guy is a faunas!’ My teeth, as well as my talons are retractable so no one would notice them. And, unless I was breathing fire would anyone notice that?
Sienna: Fair point, if I had worn a hat you would have thought I was a human.
Jaune: Yes, a human with some nice looking stripe tattoos.
Sienna: Those are not tattoos.
Jaune: Really? Well they still look nice.
Sienna: Thank you.
Jaune: Well, it doesn’t matter whether those faunas traits are visible, or not. I can’t hide what’s coming next.
Sienna: Are you developing a new trait? That’s impossible!
Jaune: Hey, I already have three traits, most faunas only have one. How’s that for impossible?
Sienna: You are a rarity of rarities among faunas… I suppose you gaining another trait isn’t something to be unexpected. What is this new trait you are developing?
Jaune: Horns. I’m growing horns.
Sienna: Horns? Let me see…
Jaune: Wait, hold on now!
Sienna moved in a flash, moving mear inches from, Jaune’s face, as she held up his hair to display the two mounds forming on either side of his head.
Sienna: Well that’s certainly interesting. Most faunas would be showing signs of growing horns when they were at least ten years old, but to be growing them at seventeen. That is quite… interesting…
Cerulean gazed into amber, and amber gazed into cerulean. The duo stood there for a moment, their eyes locked upon one another as a deep blush spread across their faces. What felt like an age past before the two realized their position to one another, and jumped back away from one other. The blushes upon their faces slowly fading away.
Sienna: I’m sorry for that, it’s just the fact you have so many faunas traits, and the fact you have more to come is quite impressive.
Jaune: Hopefully it’s the last, I’m tired of being the circus freak.
Sienna: So you would not be upset if you heard that I was sent here to confirm whether, or not you were the dragon faunas of legend who would be crowned king of the faunas, and would lead his people into a golden age of prosperity for all faunas, and the world itself?
Jaune: Uhh… No, no I would not. Blake Belladonna has already told me a thing, or two about all that kingly stuff. But, aren’t you the high leader of the, White Fang, who commands you to do anything?
Sienna: On principle, no one. They may recommend, and advise me on various courses of action. But, at the end of it all it is my decision on what I shall do. Or, it was…
Jaune: Was?
Sienna: You are my, King. Whatever your command is, I will obey.
Jaune: Seriously?! I’ve known your for half an hour! Why are you pledging your undying loyalty to me?!
Sienna: Oh, but I have been here for days. Observing you since your match with, Mercury. And, I have become quite found of what I have seen so far.
Jaune: W-What have you seen?
Sienna: For starters…?
Nora: Big bro!
Jaune: Oh hi, Nora. Need something?
Nora: Just wanted to call you, ‘big bro!’ Hehehe~! I love that I get to call you that~!
Jaune: Right back at you, lil sis.
Nora: This is amazing~!
Pyrrha: Ahhh… Is it just me, or was she faster then, Ruby just now?
Ren: If you think that was fast, you should see her on a caffeine high.
Pyrrha: I would rather not.
Ren: No, no you don’t…
Nora: Hey, whose the kitty lady?
Jaune: Nora, may I introduce you to Sienna Khan. Mrs. Khan, this is Nora Valkyrie Arc, my little sister, and teammate.
Nora: Hello~! Can I pet your ears?
Sienna: Hello, and no you can not…
Nora: Naww…
Sienna: And, its Ms. Khan. Not, Mrs.
Jaune: Oh sorry. Ms. Khan.
Sienna: Sienna is fine, Jaune~!
Jaune: Okay… This is my teammate, Lie Ren.
Ren: Nice to meet you, Ma’am.
Sienna: A pleasure.
Jaune: And, lastly we have my partner, Pyrrha Nikos, and together the four of us make up, Team JNPR! Ya!
NPR: YA!
Sienna: It’s a pleasure to make the acquaintance of you, Ms. Nikos. I have heard of your…? (Sniff, Sniff.) Hmm…?
Pyrrha: Is something wro… EEP!
As, Sienna held, Pyrrha’s hand she suddenly pulled her towards her, and held, Pyrrha there for a moment, allowing, Sienna a chance to smell her. As, Pyrrha pulled away she could see a thirsty smile spread across the tigers face as she looked to her, and then to, Jaune.
Sienna: I see… So you’ve claimed her as your own. How interesting.
Pyrrha: Bwa?! WawawawaWHAT?!!
Jaune: You can smell that?!
Sienna: Easily.
Jaune: I thought faunas couldn’t pick up on my sent due to various hierarchical reasons?!
Ren: Hierarchical reasons?
Jaune: I’ll explain later… (Sniff, sniff!) It’s very confusing. But, answer the question!
Pyrrha: Y-Yeah! How do you know that we… did it?
Sienna: It’s more of a female faunas thing. We female faunas, particularly the older ones among us can tell certain… things about woman who have been claimed by a male. I can’t pick up your sent, Jaune, but I can pick up the ‘mark’ you placed upon her.
Pyrrha: WHAT?!
Jaune: Damn faunas, and our incredibly powerful noses!
Ren: Well, that explains why everyone was shooting death glares at, Pyrrha lately. Well, more so than usual.
Nora: Ohohoh! What do I smell like?!
Sienna: Syrup.
Nora: Nice!
Jaune: Haa… So why are you here exactly…? Oh yeah: More pledges of undying loyalty…
Ren: Is this one any different compared to the rest of them; can’t you just decline it like usual?
Jaune: Partly; She may be a single faunas, but she represents thousands of faunas. For, Sienna is the High Leader of the White Fang.
Ren: Ahh, she isn’t just anyone you can say no to.
Jaune: Precisely. So, then we have to do things that prove you’re worth for my trust.
Sienna: Prove my worth?
Jaune: Yes, your worth. I don’t trust blindly; as a businessman, and a leader, you must prove there is worth to me putting my trust in you. (Sniff.) Understood?
Sienna: Earn your trust? That seems perfectly reasonable, tell me, Jaune how can I, and to a greater extent prove our worth to you?
Jaune: You can first start off with why you are spying on me; I understand it’s because of the whole dragon king bullshit. But nonetheless, why are you spying on me?
Sienna: Spying?! I have given no order to spy upon you? In fact I gave the exact opposite order for our operatives to leave you alone.
Jaune: You haven’t? Then why is, Kali Belladonna here?
Sienna: She is the wife to, Ghiria Belladonna, the Chieftain of Menagerie. It’s only natural for her to come here, and see if the rumours of a dragon faunas are true.
Jaune stared down the cat faunas as he sniffed the air. The air of confidence, and assurance in the truth of her own words were etched across her face. And, yet…
Jaune: If that be true then explain this: Team JNPR!
NPR: Yes!
Jaune raised his hand and pointed to a tree near the edge of walkway, and simply said three words.
Jaune: Mobile Easel: GO!
In three seconds three scrolls were pulled out of their respective owners pockets. In a second a single button was pressed. And, in five seconds, three standard issue rocket lockers crashed into the ground before them.
As quick as a flash, Nora, Ren, and Pyrrha each rushed to their respective lockers, and grabbed their gear, and did as Hunter’s do. They hunted their quarry.
Jaune: Nora! Fire one round behind the tree! Force them out of their hiding spot!
As her fearless-leader/older brother commanded, Nora fired a single round from her rotary-grenade launcher. The round impacted behind the tree forcing some black clad individual to pop out from behind it.
Jaune: Pyrrha, open fire on them, don’t let them get away! Ren, charge them!
Listen to their leaders instructions, Pyrrha changed her spear into it’s rifle form, and started firing upon their uninvited guest. The rounds struck true, and prevented them from fleeing, giving, Ren the time to close the distance, and engage in close quarters combat.
The spy was apparently more skilled at fleeing than fighting, for they could barely last a few seconds before they were knocked to the ground by, Ren’s swift onslaught of attacks. There they lay, defeated. Nora quickly ran over, and threw the spy over her shoulder like a bag of rice before dumping them in front of, Jaune with a pained groan.
Jaune: Excellent job team! They won’t know what’ll hit ‘em come the, Vytal Festival if we can keep this up!
Nora: That was AWESOME!!!
Pyrrha: I must admit, that was quite exhilarating.
Ren: I’m surprised we reacted that fast, I thought we would have a harder time with such a quick response.
Jaune: But, you didn’t. So excellent job guys! Now then… Who are you…?
Jaune pushed over their spy with his foot. They had brown skin, and wearing a black bodysuit. Their long brown hair done up in a ponytail, but what stood out the most to, Jaune was the white mask with horns she wore upon her face.
A Grimm mask, often worn by the members of the, White Fang.
Jaune: Interesting… So, the White Fang is following me, and you said they weren’t. Care to explain yourself, Ms. Khan?
Sienna: Ilia…
Jaune: Beg pardon?
Sienna: Her name is, Ilia Amitola.
Pyrrha: And, you know that because?
Sienna: She is as you said, a member of the, White Fang. She’s a chameleon faunas; She can change her skins natural pigment to whatever colour she wants. Because of this we use her to spy on others.
Jaune: She can change the colour of her skin? Well, that explains why she smells like oil paints.
Sienna: You smelt her out?
Jaune: Yes I did, this smell isn’t hard to miss. Now then, what was that bit about not spying on me?
Sienna: I’m not, I swear!
Jaune: This says otherwise.
Sienna: She may be spying on you for another faction within the, White Fang. Probably trying to see where your allegiances are, and if they could sway you to their side.
Pyrrha: Factions? I thought you were the, High Leader, shouldn’t they listen to your commands?
Sienna: I am the High Leader! It appears there are those among the, White Fang who need a reminder on who is in charge…
Jaune: Let’s start here then shall we? Hey, wake up!
Jaune slapped the sleeping faunas who slowly started to rouse herself from sleep.
Ilia: W-What…? W-Where am…?! Oh no…!
Sienna: Hello, Ilia… Care to explain what you’re doing here?
Ilia: Sight seeing…?
Jaune: And, I’m the sight to see, no?
Ilia: N-No… Ghak?!
Sienna grabbed, Ilia by the scruff of her neck, and held her in the air. A fierce gaze burned in her eyes, as she stared the quivering little girl.
Sienna: Considering I gave the orders that I would be meeting the dragon king alone, I expected them to be carried out! But, for some reason you are here, care to explain that?!
Ilia’s body seemed to literally turn white from fear, no doubt her unique faunas trait coming into play. Nora couldn’t help, but give a soft ‘aww’ as she saw this interesting display, while the others just watched on as, Sienna imposed her place within the faunas hierarchy.
Sienna: Answer me you pathetic little welp! I know you would have never sought him out yourself, you pathetic little dyke! Who sent you!
Ilia: T-T-The Albain Brother’s! T-They sent me to see if it was true! If the dragon king was real!
Sienna: Ahh… Those wretched bastards…
Ilia: Ooph?!
Without fanfare, Sienna unceremoniously dropped, Ilia on the ground as an unamused frown spread across her face.
Jaune: Friends of yours?
Sienna: Religious zealots is what they are! Always preaching about the good of the faunas in a holier than thou tone. Their personality is utterly unbearable.
Jaune: Would they also drop to the floor before me, and start worshiping me, praising me as this god I supposedly am?
Sienna: Most likely.
Jaune: So if I ever met them they would be the ones erecting statues, and murals of me for my supposed divinity?
Sienna: It wouldn’t surprise me if they haven’t already done that.
Jaune: Well… That sounds bother some…
Sienna: They would probably try, and wipe up the faunas, and rile them up to committing a holy war in your name.
Jaune: S-Seriously…?
Sienna: They are part of the more fanatical militant arm of the, White Fang. They already have been trying to force me to committing to such a course of action. While I admit that I am willing to attack enemies of the faunas that have slighted us. The Schnee Dust Company, and Atlas for example. But, they would be more open to attack civilians indiscriminately, to show people that faunas are to be feared. Such a course of action will only make more enemies of the faunas as a whole, and not just the, White Fang. With you however, they will try all the more harder to do so, and the likely hood of such a course of action happening is all the more likely.
Jaune: …
Jaune: Fuuuuuuuuuuck! I don’t wanna do this… but, they’re leaving me no choice…
Pyrrha: Do what, Jaune?
Jaune: I have to align myself with, Sienna, and Mrs. Belladonna. Dammit! I didn’t want to take part in this!
Ren: Who says you have to join them? Can’t you stay on the sidelines like you have already been doing?
Jaune: No, if I align myself with, Kali Belladonna it says I am looking towards a peaceful coexistence with humans, and general peace. Aligning myself with, Sienna will show that I do support the, White Fang, but I don’t favour its more violent aspects. People may still worship me as a god, but they will know that I do not like it. So there numbers will be less than if I adopt a more neutral position.
Ren: And, you can easily push for more favourable outcomes if you adopt their sides of the argument than the, Albain Brothers?
Pyrrha: But, is that really better? The White Fang are still militaristic.
Jaune: True. But, what would you rather align yourself with: A militant group, or a fanatical militant group?
Pyrrha: The militant group.
Jaune: Precisely. I will choose the lesser of two evils. On top of that I can curtail their more violent habits, no?
Sienna: I will do as you command.
Jaune: Good! Now there’s only one thing left to deal with! You… Ilia…
Ilia: Y-Y-Yes your, Grace…?
Jaune: How long have you been following me?
Ilia: For about two weeks…
Jaune: So you were there when I was at the, CCT Tower.
Ilia: I wasn’t ther… Gack?!
Jaune’s hand was on, Ilia’s throat, pushing her body against the ground. He stood above her, his other hand held high as he flexed his fingers revealing the talons he hid beneath them. Ilia’s body paled to a ghostly white as he stared at the terrified little faunas below him.
Jaune: Don’t lie to me! I picked up your sent there, and I’ve been looking for it ever since! So were you there or not!
Ilia: I-I-I was there!
Jaune: And, did you hear anything?
Ilia: W-What…?
Jaune: Did you overhear the conversation I was having!!
Ilia: N-N-No! You finished your call as soon as I entered the room!
Jaune: Is that the truth?!
Ilia: I uhh… A-Air!
Jaune: I said: Is that the TRUTH!!!
Jaune opened his mouth, and snapped his teeth together, letting everyone see the fangs that lie within his mouth, as jets of fire shot out of the sides inches from, Ilia’s face. It was a truly fearsome sight to behold, one clearly showing the contained rage the, Dragon King held in check, one that no wanted to be on the receiving side of. Ilia displayed this fact as she promptly fainted from being on the receiving end of, Jaune’s furious visage.
Jaune: …
Jaune: Oops… I went a little too far…
Pyrrha: Damn that was hot…
Sienna: That can certainly get your engine purring~!
Ren: Understandable considering the circumstances.
Nora: Whoo! Do it again!
Sienna: What circumstances?
Jaune: That is none of your business…
Sienna: I see…
Jaune: Well, good talking with you, Sienna. I think we have other things to attend to. I’ll live you to deal with your… associate. Till later.
Sienna: Till later, Jaune.
As, Team JNPR made their away from the faunas duo, Ren fell into step with his team leader to ask him some pressing questions.
Ren: Are you alright?
Jaune: Somewhat. It appears she didn’t hear about the conversation I had with my sisters, but until I know if he has any traits… There is much to worry about…
Ren: What about your breathing?
Jaune: My breathing; What about it?
Ren: You may have smelt, Ilia out, but you were still sniffing heavily. Is something wrong?
Jaune: Damn you noticed that! I thought I was hiding that better.
Ren: You were, but most people tend to focus on the eyes, than the nose. What were you smelling?
Jaune: Sienna. I was smelling, Sienna.
Ren: Oh… Is this the same thing that you’ve been dealing with, with Ms. Goodwitch?
Jaune: Yep…
Ren: Oh… It doesn’t appear like you had the same reaction to her as you did, Ms. Goodwitch though.
Jaune: I know what I’m smelling, I won’t have such a violent reaction. I hope…
Ren: We can only hope that.
Jaune: I don’t like the fact I can sniff people out like that. Oh well… I’ll just look to the bright side in all of this mess.
Ren: And, that would be?
Jaune: That I’ve got good taste~!
Ren: …
Ren: Okay then…
///
Hahahaha!!! Haaaaa…
It’s finished… This has been sitting in my draft for at least a month…
But, it is finished!
Now I have to finish all the other ones…
Nerts…

Firen Lhain: Chapter 306: Morning Star
JNR sat in the contestant seating as they watched Pyrrha and Penny in the ring, as the rest of the finalists walked out.
"WE LOVE YOU PYRRHA!" Nora shouted at the top of her lungs.
"Didn't Ruby say she was going to be here?" Jaune asked, and looked about.
"I'm sure she is." Nora stated. "You have to do it too."
"Do... huh?.. OH! WE LOVE YOU PYRRHA!" Jaune shouted.
"INDEED!" Ren added.
Pyrrha blushed and looked down. The roar of the crowd she was used to. Even the love of her parents... but... the love of... friends... of... him... was altogether different. For the time being she forgot her trepidations and enjoyed being in her element. Here she was, in an arena, with a crowd... with actual guidelines.
"Sal-u-tations, Pyrrha Nikos!" Penny exclaimed, "It's an honor to finally meet you!"
And the moment was gone. Her worry returned, in force. It seemed she could not escape the real world... like most adults claimed. She guessed this meant she was finally an adult. One last image of Jaune flashed into her head before the battle was to begin.
"This is going to be so much fun!" Penny added.
* * *
Pyrrha faltered for a moment, and Jaune leaned forward. "I just wish..." he voiced, "that I could do something for her... I just wish she would let me..."
"I'm sure your presence was comfort enough." Ren stated. "We all have the battles we must wage on our own, but the mear pressence of friends makes the burdens easier to bear."
"I... hope so..." Jaune stated, and saw something... some-one... on the far side of the arena. It was Emerald, and his antlers tingled... ached... "I wish there was something I could do about her. Nora jumped to her feet, though still no taller than even his head.
"Want me to get my hammer?!" she eagerly asked, and Jaune sighed.
"Do I?.." Jauned asked, "but you can't..."
"aww..." Nora voiced, and sadly sat back down.
"We have to be civilized people." Jaune stated.
"If you say so..." Nora sadly added.
Ren then stood up. "Perhaps I could be of some assistance."
"Oh!" Nora exclaimed, "Ninja assassination!"
Ren placed his hand on Nora's shoulder.
"Nora, one, no," Jaune said to her, "and two, shouting ninja assassination is kind of counterproductive."
"Indeed." Ren added.
"Right, right," Nora voiced, "Sneaky."
"Indeed." Ren added, and disappeared into the crowd.
* * *
Ren approached Emerald as the battle reached it's crescendo. Whatever it was her Semblance was doing, it was working in overdrive. He placed his hand on her shoulder and she lost her concentration.
The illusory knives disappeared from Pyrrha's sight. Her heart fell as she knew she had overreacted... but... it was too late. Her Aura, her Semblance with the force to stop thousands of knives, pushed the few real ones with ridiculous impulse. Such overzealous power that Pyrrha was forced to watch as the wires cut into her, and ripped, the robot?.. apart?..
She was so uncertain and crestfallen that she fell to her knees. What... had she done?..
Jaune leapt into the arena, completely unsure of what he could do. His heart burned not being able to help her, but if he did... would... would it make it worse? The match was clearly over, how much worse could it get?
Jaune threw what little caution he had to the wind and ran into the arena, when the protective shield flicked and sounded. Everyone looked up to see a Giant Nevermore pecking at the screen, trying to break through. Jaune looked back to Pyrrha and screamed, "Pyrrha!"
But she was still crestfallen, kneeling on the ground, head dropped in fear and shame.
"Pyrrha!" he cried once again, and found a small hand on his shoulder. He turned to see Nora, and his tunnel vision faded. He looked around, seeing people fleeing, hearing their screaming, hearing the scratching and clawing and cawing of Grimm. Of bones snapping, blood spurting, Humans and Faunus crying over their fallen friends. "Pyrrha!," he cried, and the shield flickered and sounded, "it's going to break in! You've gotta move!"
"Jaune?" Nora asked him.
"Pyrrha!," Jaune shouted, "please snap out of it!"
The shield groaned and then snapped, completely disappearing. The Giant Nevermore then crashed onto the arena floor. A moment later it was hit by a stream of rose petals, and Jaune let out a sigh of relief. He took his eyes off the conflict and looked around the arena.
"Ruby?" Pyrrha distantly asked.
Ruby pointed one of Penny's swords at the Giant Nevermore, "Leave her alone!" Jaune looked back around to find Pyrrha's discarded weapons and quickly retrive them.
"Perhaps our own as well?" Ren asked.
"and what?" Jaune asked, "use them to impale the Grimm?"
Ren looked at him with a curious expression, "That is... quite the wonderful suggestion."
"It's what?" Jaune asked, as Nora started playing with her scroll. Jaune looked over to see Ren doing the same thing. He then pulled out his own scroll to summon his locker. Within a minute a cluster of lockers crashed into the arena, many implaing the Giant Nevermore. The many students ran out to their lockers, retieving their weapons. Soon enough the Nevermore began to move once again, shaking all of the students that had climbed on top of it.
* * *
The students all ran up to the airships, all... but Jaune... Pyrrha stopped to look at him questioningly. "If..." Jaune voiced, "I... get on that airship... four others can't. We all know I'm not the best..."
"But..." Nora judgementally said to him, "Leader?!"
"There has to be another way?" Ren asked.
"Like what?.." Jaune sarcastically asked, "tie me to the bullhead?"
"Yes!" Nora exclaimed. "No?"
"It's not like we've got any rope." Jaune stated.
Ren's faced showed that an idea had just come to him. "Perhaps?.. polarity?.."
"SWEEEEEEEEEEEEE..." Nora voiced, and Jaune and Pyrrha looked into each other's eyes.
"EEEEEEEE..." Nora continued.
"Perhaps." Pyrrha said with a brilliant smile and a blush.
"EEEET." Nora finished.
* * *
Pyrrha used her Semblance to press herself against Jaune, her Semblance was in turn holding him to the dorsal hull of the airbus. Something shot out the bottom. Jaune tried to look beyond Pyrrha but couldn't really see anything... other than rose petals.
"Ruby?.." he asked, his voice silenced by the high wind.
"What?" Pyrrha asked.
"What is she thinking?.." Jaune tried to to ask.
* * *
Ruby landed on the outer edge of the floating arena and dashed away on all fours.
* * *
Jaune looked over Pyrrha's shoulder to see the locker flying out of the arena.
"What in The Brothers name is she doing?" Jaune asked. Pyrrha looked him in the eyes, still not understanding what he was saying. All he could do was sigh.
* * *
Jaune could feel the airbus dropping, and Pyrrha vigourously gestured off to the side. Jaune figured it meant they were almost there. He nodded. Pyrrha nodded, and a moment later stopped her Semblance. Jaune started sliding down one side, Pyrrha down the other. The two made a jump as they saw the ground approaching. They flew off to the sides of the airship, landing in turn. The airbus hovered near the ground as the rest began to disembark.
"Leader?!" Nora shouted.
"Aye!" Jaune shouted in reply. Nora and Ren quickly turned to move towards him, but Jaune waved them off. "Center!" Jaune cried, and then turned to the advance and advanced. "Pyrrha, pincer!" Jaune cried.
"On it!" Pyrrha's singsong voice replied.
Jaune swung his sword, cleaving through Beowulves on his track. Ren struck an Ursa with his aura strike while Nora jumped on another one's back and steered him towards the others. Pyrrha was busy elegantly impaling the Creeps as she ran by. Soon enough the four were back together, Nora using Magnhild's haft to break the Ursa' neck. A strange confidence filled Jaune while Pyrrha smiled more than she had in her life. The euphoric mixture of good combat, good friends, and good love filling her to the brim. For the first time since... Ren and Nora felt safe. All was well in the world until Ozpin appeared out of the school. Pyrrha looked towards. She silently said "I'm sorry," thinking perhaps it was the last time, and sadly ran off towards him.
"Where's she going?" Nora asked.
"I'll go find out." Jaune replied, turning towards them before back to the school. "You two stay here and keep fighting." He then turned back to them again, "I want to see you guys alive and well afterwards."
Nora eagerly saluted. "Indeed." Ren stated.

At the Capitol, Orson Welles’ The Magnificent Ambersons, also starring Agnes Moorehead and Gil Perkins, continued its run. Nearby, at the Albee, a second-run cinema, Top Hat (1935) starring Ginger Rogers and Lucille Ball was playing. The Big Street opened nationally September 4, 1942.
“Love is something that gets you one room, two chins, and three kids.” ~ Gloria Lyons (Lucille Ball)
PRINCIPAL CAST
Lucille Ball (Gloria Lyons aka ‘Her Highness’) was born on August 6, 1911 in Jamestown, New York. She began her screen career in 1933 and was known in Hollywood as ‘Queen of the B’s’ due to her many appearances in ‘B’ movies. With Richard Denning, she starred in a radio program titled “My Favorite Husband” which eventually led to the creation of “I Love Lucy,” a television situation comedy in which she co-starred with her real-life husband, Latin bandleader Desi Arnaz. The program was phenomenally successful, allowing the couple to purchase what was once RKO Studios, re-naming it Desilu. When the show ended in 1960 (in an hour-long format known as “The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour”) so did Lucy and Desi’s marriage. In 1962, hoping to keep Desilu financially solvent, Lucy returned to the sitcom format with “The Lucy Show,” which lasted six seasons. She followed that with a similar sitcom “Here’s Lucy” co-starring with her real-life children, Lucie and Desi Jr., as well as Gale Gordon, who had joined the cast of “The Lucy Show” during season two. Before her death in 1989, Lucy made one more attempt at a sitcom with “Life With Lucy,” also with Gordon.
Gloria’s singing voice was provided by Martha Mears, who also did Ball’s singing in DuBarry Was a Lady (1944).
Henry Fonda (Augustus Pinkerton II aka ‘Little Pinks’) first worked with Lucille Ball in the 1935 film I Dream Too Much. When Lucille Ball first got to Hollywood, the two actually briefly dated. They collaborated on the TV special “The Good Years” (1962) and the film Yours, Mine and Ours (1968). During the 1970s, Fonda and Ball often turned up on the same awards and tribute shows. Fonda was nominated for three Oscars, winning in 1982 for On Golden Pond. He also won an honorary Oscar in 1981. Fonda died in 1982 at age 77.
Barton MacLane (Case Ables) was seen in the film The Maltese Falcon (1941) but is probably best remembered for his final role, the blustery General Peterson on “I Dream of Jeannie” (1965-69).
“A fat man’s always listening to love stories, but he’s never go any to tell.” ~ Nicely Nicely Johnson
Eugene Pallette (Nicely Nicely Johnson, The Greatest Eater Alive) was seen as Friar Tuck in Robin Hood (1938) and in Mr. Smith Goes To Washington (1939).
The character of Nicely Nicely Johnson was played by Stubby Kaye, who reprised the role he played on Broadway, in the film version of Runyon’s Guys and Dolls (1955). He was so named because his usual reply to the question “How are you doing?” was typically “Nicely nicely, thank you!”
Agnes Moorehead (Violette Shumberg) was a classically trained performer who collaborated with Orson Welles on Citizen Kane (1941) and The Magnificent Ambersons (1942). She is best remembered as Samantha’s exotic mother Endora on the TV series “Bewitched” (1964-72).
Violette weighs 100 pounds, four ounces.
“She has a very large capacity for groceries.” ~ Pinks (about Violette)
Sam Levene (Horsethief) originated the role of Nathan Detroit in the Broadway stage musical of Runyon’s Guys and Dolls. Singing great Frank Sinatra played Nathan Detroit in the movie version in 1955.
Ray Collins (Professor B) also collaborated with Orson Welles on Citizen Kane (1941) and The Magnificent Ambersons (1942), along with Agnes Moorehead. He is best remembered for playing Lieutenant Tragg on “Perry Mason” from 1957 to 1965.
Marion Martin (Mimi Venus) would also be seen with Lucille Ball in Abbott and Costello in Hollywood (1945). Although she was often cast as a brassy stripper, showgirl or tough gun moll, off screen she was known to be extremely shy and retiring.
“That dame is a lump of mud!” ~Gloria (about Mimi)
William Orr (Decatur Reed) was an actor turned executive. As the head of WB Television for nine years, he was executive producer of the studio's early forays into the medium, helping to put ABC on the prime-time map with a steady staple of westerns and detective shows. In 1959 he received a Golden Globe for his contributions to television.
Vera Gordon (Mrs. Lefkowitz) emigrated with her family from Russia when she was seven years old. She became involved in the theatre and was active in silent films and early talkies. She had previously appeared with Lucille Ball in 1938′s Having Wonderful Time.
George Cleveland (Col. Venus) makes his fourth film appearance with Lucille Ball. In 1949 they also did Miss Grant Takes Richmond. He is best remembered for playing Gramps on “Lassie” (1954-57).
Ozzie Nelson (Himself) was considered the pre-eminent TV dad of the 1950s thanks to his successful family sitcom “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet” (1952-66). Before TV fame, he was a bandleader with his wife Harriet the lead singer. Nelson later appeared on several talk shows with Lucille Ball.
UNCREDITED CAST (with connections to Lucille Ball)
Baby (Gloria’s Pekingese Dog)
Louise Beavers (Ruby, Gloria’s Maid) went on to appear in three more films with Lucille Ball: DuBarry Was a Lady (1943), Lover Come Back (1946), and The Facts of Life (1960).
Charles Cane (McCarty, Holland Tunnel Policeman) also appeared with Lucille Ball in The Dark Corner (1946) and as one of the theatre patrons at “Over The Teacups” in “Ethel’s Birthday” (1954) which also featured Big Street extras Bess Flowers, James Conaty, Sam Harris, and Harold Miller.
Jack Chefe was seen as a Paris waiter in “Lucy Meets Charles Boyer” (ILL S5;E19) and played a bellhop in “Lucy and John Wayne” (ILL S5;E2) and had also appeared in five films with Lucille Ball, including playing a waiter in Forever, Darling. Of Chefe’s 358 film roles, 165 were waiters!
James Conaty (Nightclub Patron) was also seen with Lucille in I Dreamed Too Much (1935), Lured (1947), and The Long Long Trailer (1953). He was one of the theatre patrons at “Over The Teacups” in “Ethel’s Birthday” (1954) which also featured Big Street extras Bess Flowers, Charles Cane, Sam Harris, and Harold Miller.
Hans Conried (Waiter) played Harry Martin in “Redecorating” (ILL S2;E8) and Percy Livermore in “Lucy Hires an English Tutor” (ILL S2;E13), both in 1952. He also did two episodes of “The Lucy Show,” both as her music tutor Dr. Gitterman in 1963.

William Halligan (Detective) was also with Lucille Ball in 1940′s You Can’t Fool Your Wife.
Art Hamburger (Joe Duffle, Eating Contest Opponent) makes his final of three screen appearances. He became an associate director. This is his only time working with Lucille Ball.
Joe Duffle is from Boston and weighs 337 and a half pounds. There is some irony that Nicely Nicely (then Violette’s) eating contest opponent is actually named Hamburger.
Mary Halsey (Showgirl) also did Seven Days Leave with Lucille Ball in 1942.
Sam Harris (Passerby on Florida Boardwalk) was in the background of a dozen Lucille Ball films, as well as being seen on “I Love Lucy,” “The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour” and “The Lucy Show.” He was one of the theatre patrons at “Over The Teacups” in “Ethel’s Birthday” (1954) which also featured Big Street extras Bess Flowers, Charles Cane, James Conaty, and Harold Miller.

Marie Windsor (Florida Club Patron) was also in Critic’s Choice (1963) with Lucille Ball.
BIG STREET OPENING
"Loser's Lane - the sidewalk in front of Mindy's Restaurant on Broadway - is not as high-toned a trading center as Wall Street, but the brokers are a lot more colorful. Generally they prefer to put their money on a prizefight or horse race, but when the action slows, anything can happen and it usually does. Tonight, for example, the citizens of the Lane are discussing the latest contest in their usual quiet way..."
BIG STREET TRIVIA
The Big Street was a nickname for Broadway, where this movie's plot starts, and where all Runyon's stories take place. The film opens at West 50th and Broadway in New York City, with the marquee of the Capitol Theatre in the background.
Damon Runyon originally wanted to cast Charles Laughton and Carole Lombard in the lead roles, but neither one was interested in the project. The two had previously paired on White Women (1933) and They Knew What They Wanted (1940), Lombard suggested the producer consider her friend Lucille Ball and, despite pressure by RKO to hire a better-known actress, Runyon offered her the role. Unaccustomed to playing series roles, Lucille asked advice from Laughton on how to approach such a difficult part. Laughton told her not to hold back: “If you are going to play a bitch, play a bitch!”
Ball later recalled that at the time she was cast, "nothing much seemed to be happening for me at the studio. My $1000 weekly paycheck came regularly, but I was still a regular among the Bs."

Philadelphia Daily News ~ June 6, 1942
Reports that Lucille Ball sent a $25 War Bond to each of the ten girls that were fired from backing her up on “The Big Street”.
During filming, Lucy’s new husband Desi Arnaz felt so insecure about leaving Lucy and Fonda alone together that he’d often pop by the set to keep an eye on them. His paranoia so exasperated director Irving Reis that he finally banned him from the set.
This was Lucille Ball’s favorite of her nearly 80 films. She felt her performance was unjustly ignored by the Academy.
The vocals for "Who Knows?" by Harry Revel and Mort Greene, performed by Gloria in Case's Manhattan club, were provided by Martha Mears. The character later reprises the song with Ozzie Nelson and his orchestra in the Miami nightspot.
The film was re-released in 1955, at the height of Lucille Ball’s television success. Although Fonda remains first billed, Ball’s photo clearly indicates that she is the drawing card.
Damon Runyon also created the source material for the hit Broadway musical Guys and Dolls (1950), which starred Robert Alda, who went on to make several appearances on “The Lucy Show.” The two stories share the character of Nicely Nicely Johnson. When the film version was made by MGM in 1955, Lucy and Desi were also under contract to the studio. A brief clip of the film was inserted into the middle of an episode of “I Love Lucy” called “Lucy and the Dummy” (S5;E3), although the clip was removed after its initial airing. Further, when Lucille Ball first came to Hollywood, before becoming a contract player at RKO, she worked for Sam Goldwyn as one of the Goldwyn Girls. In Guys and Dolls, the Hot Box Girls are played by the Goldwyn Girls.
In 1949, Lucille Ball starred in another film based on a Damon Runyon story, Sorrowful Jones, a remake of the 1934 Shirley Temple film, Little Miss Marker.
Damon Runyon was a big fan of Lindy’s, a Manhattan restaurant famous for their cheesecake, and wrote the eatery into his books as Mindy's. The musical Guys and Dolls, based on Runyon's writings, immortalizes Lindy's in one of its songs. In “Ricky’s Contract” (ILL S4;E10), Lucy tells Fred and Ethel that Ricky took his entire band to Lindy’s to celebrate learning that he had been offered a movie contract.
In The Big Street, a sympathetic Pinks decides to take Gloria to Florida to recuperate - by pushing her wheelchair the entire way - starting with the Holland Tunnel! Although Lucy and Fonda never left Hollywood, the locations are achieved by rear projection and establishing footage.

The Holland Tunnel figures into “I Love Lucy,” not once - but twice. In “The Marriage License” (ILL S ), after finding out that her marriage license may be invalid, Lucy goes on a twelve hour walk to East Orange, New Jersey. “How I ever got through the Holland Tunnel, I don’t know.”
The Holland Tunnel will be mentioned again three years later in “Lucy Learns to Drive” (ILL S4;E11). Reportedly, she tried to make a u-turn in the Holland Tunnel resulting in traffic being tied up to East Orange, New Jersey.
Action is also set in Miami Beach, Florida. Pinks and Gloria hitchhike there to visit with Nicely Nicely and Violette who are operating a night spot there.
In “Off To Florida” (ILL S6;E6), Lucy and Ethel also hitchhike to Miami Beach Florida after being left on the side of the road by their ride share, a suspected hatchet murderess. They arrive at the North Miami train station covered in chicken feathers from riding in the back of a poultry truck.
Doting Pinks has a pet name for haughty Gloria: 'Your Highness'. In Florida, her friends conspire to get people to come and hear her sing by fibbing that she is the Princess of Corolia, a fictional place.
In “The Publicity Agent” (ILL S1;E31), Lucy conspires to get Ricky more publicity by pretending to be a fawning fan of royal blood: ‘The Maharincess of Franistan’!
FAST FORWARD!

The film is referenced in the television film Lucy & Desi: Before the Laughter (1991)
A poster for the film is on Lucy’s dressing room wall in Lucy, a 2003 TV movie.
The Big Street turns up in the TV listings in the low budget film Hollywood Mouth (2008) starring Joe Bologna.
A clip from the film is featured in a montage during “AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to Henry Fonda” a 1978 special attended by Lucille Ball.
Henry Fonda: The Man and His Movies (1982) contains dressing room and dance floor scenes with Lucille Ball.
The Emmy-winning documentary Lucy and Desi: A Home Movie (1993) features a brief clip from the movie.
When Cher is TCM Guest Programmer in 2011, she selects The Big Street as one of her films to be aired.
In December 1948, Lucille Ball reprised her role on radio with John Garfield taking the role of Pinks.
The Big Street on VHS.
The Big Street is available on DVD from Warner Home Video. It is also part of the Lucille Ball Collection DVD, which also includes Dance, Girl, Dance, DuBarry Was A Lady, Critic’s Choice, and Mame.

Happy FFWF! Pick a well-loved or favorite posted work, and tell me the scene or section that was the most fun to write and tell me a little about why!
The fic I chose was FitzSimmons Family Bonding
This was one of those fics that just dragged on in my mind and ended up being longer than I intended it to be, and some parts I had to force myself to finish just so I could be done with it.
One of my favorite parts to go back and read is the end. When Deke is brought to the lab with ruby and Alex and meets fitzsimmons, and then their conversations and interacts. I think I wrote those parts really well, especially the very end when the three of them are all tired and talking about food.
I really hope I put out more fics in the mear future

My thoughts on the current situation in RWBY. Spoilers for Volume 6 ep 4 if you haven’t seen it.
So everyone is really emotional and high strung at the moment.
So the calmest and only level headed person at the moment is Maria. She is surprised and a little confused. After all she knows nothing of these people and their mission but just saw Jinn herself and got this whole information dump too. She’s got a lot of years under her though. She knows that they can’t stand outside and be emotional at the moment or they will die, so she’s forcing them to get their shit together because if she freaks out and gets upset too them they are doomed.
Then we have Oscar. Mear weeks ago, this was a young farm boy. Waking up one day and realizeing he is no longer alone in his head, Oscar has a few decisions forced on him. He has to learn how to fight because if he doesn’t the enemy will still track him down and kill him as Ospin anyway. Oscar is upset about the secrecy and lies too, but what is bothering him the most right now is the fact that he is going to end up being absorbed into the mess of souls known as Ozpin one day. He’s scared because he didn’t ask for any of this and is pulled into a war with no way out. He can’t do anything about the new entity residing in his body.
Then we have Blake. Like the girls, Blake has known Oz for less than a year, rather about a year. Blake has a complicated relationship with Oz, like how she kept secrets from him while they were in school. Hell as a team they blatantly lied to Oz’s face a few times and the one time he bent the rules because he knew that they were going to break them he did warn them not to be greatful for it. Blake is not only the most out of the loop but also the biggest secret keeper in RWBY. So while she is upset she isn’t judging Oz. She is keeping silent because out of all team RWBY she knows best about keeping secrets because of how afraid she is of others response. Remember back when they first learned Blake was a fauns ans Weiss has a moment where it almost seemed like the racism would get to her, but she decided Blake was more important? It’s a little like that. Had they decided she was not to be trusted, Blake would probably never opened up again.
Thrn we have Weiss. Weiss has just escaped Atlas and the abusive family there but has been told she has to go back. She’s upset but as long as she is with her team it is all going to work out, or so she thinks. She hates secrets probably more than anyone, seeing as how secrets are what her father lives off of. Yet she hung back after learning everything. Weiss is critical, she’s analyzing the situation. She has evry reason to be angry, especially since in the last battle she was almost killed. Yet she’s showing how much restraint she has. She even had the little light hearted comment of hoping they didn’t have to walk to Atlas.
Then we got Yang and Ruby. I am clumping these two together because unlike the others, who only their lives are invested in Ozpin’s crusade (Blake has family on the fanus front), these two girls entire family is involved in this. Oz’s mission is what drove Raven away, possibly what killed Summer, and what has kept Qrow away. Yang lost an arm in this battle. She has suffered quite a bit herself and had entrusted her precious little sisters life to Ozpin. For Yang this isn’t just about her, it’s her entire family that Ozpin is manipulating and she has had it. Ruby lost two friends that she personally saw get killed. She had truted Ozpin with her team and her family. However unlike Yang she didn’t respond in anger, she wants to know what Oz’s plan is. After all she is a leader. She needs a plan.
Then we have Qrow. Qrow has lost so much in his many years of loyal service to Oz. He lost any good relationship with his sister, Summer is dead, something implied that both he and Taiyang hold him responsible for. His friends are all dead, he is at the end of his rope and the only thing holding him together is the fact he was doing something good with his life. All to learn it was just a wild goose chase. He’s furious, hurt, and feels betrayed. He trusted Oz with his sister, his team, his neices, and himself and Oz never even had a plan. That would set off anyone.
Then we have Ozpin. Sent by the gods on an impossible mission and just having some of the most traumatic moments of his life dance before his very eyes. He is a mess. While he’s trying to regain control his worst nightmare is coming true. Not only does it seem like he will be betrayed and abandoned again but even his most trusted and loyal companion just said getting mixed up with him was the worst thing to have happened to him.
At the moment we have a group of upset and traumatized people trying to figure out just where exactly we can go from here. Not to mention JNR is seperated from them with no knowledge of what is going on and the only ones Miss Muffet has a for sure location on now for Cinder... can’t forget that part. So yeah maybe this break from Ozpin will do everyone a little good.
They are all not in the right but they aren’t in the wrong either. Granted this would have been the best time to have Ren around but they are going to have to solve this one alone. I’m sure they will figure it out, after all if Salem wins they all die and while Oz can’t beat her, he is they’re best chance. The fact they still have him with them and are still going to Atlas shows they haven’t abandoned the mission.

Chapter 9
Naming Teams: (Remnent)
We were all in the auditorium, waiting to find out which team we were going to be in.
Three Faunus and one human walked onto the stage. "Sunflower Hill, Mousa Spiral, Jyll Corning and Nell Miller retrieved the white bishop pieces. They are Team JSMN (Jasmine). With Jyll being Team leader." Ozpin said.
Next, Willow, Jett, Crystal and I walked on stage. "Next is Jett Diamond, Willow Meare, Crystal Rose (No relation to Ruby Rose), and Eilwyn Tengee. They retrieved the black knight pieces. They are Team JWCE (Justice). With Jett Diamond as their leader." Ozbin announced.
We walked off the stage and watched to find out who would be in, Team Cardinal, Team JNPR and Team RWBY, and receive their Team names. As if we didn't know already.
Jett was flabbergasted, she never thought she would or could be the leader of our Team. And she was afraid that I would be upset with her for being made leader. I explained that I wasn't mad at her and she would make a great leader, since she was a tactician. We agreed that I would be second in command so she wouldn't feel so bad about being leader.
Our dorm room was just down the hall from Team RWBY and Team JNPR. On the same side of the hall as Team RWBY, with Team JSMN across the hall from us. After finding out what team we were on, and where our dorm room was, we headed to the cafeteria to get some lunch. Team's RWBY, JSMN and JNPR were there also. After getting our food we headed to the table where Team JNPR; Jaune, Pyrrha, Nora and Ren, were sitting at. "These seats free?" I asked.
"Please sit down." Pyrrha told us. We took seats across from them.
"Congratulation's Jaune." I said and held out my hand to him.
He took my hand and shook it, looking embarrassed. "Um Thank you."
"I'm Eilwyn. Like you didn't see us on stage." I started to introduce my team, pointing to Jett, "This is our Team leader, Jett. That's Crystal." I pointed to Crystal. Then I put my hand on Willow's shoulder, "And last but not least, this is Willow. And this is Taima." I scratched Taima, in her wolf form, between the ears.
Jaune introduced his team to us. Nora, Ren and Pyrrha. We chatted as we ate our lunch.
I had already warned my Team about not bringing up anything we already know about what would happen. Or what was supposed to happen.
Looking at Taima, Pyrrha asked me. "Taima didn't go with you into the forest, did she?"
I chuckled. "No, she stayed on the cliff with Professor Ozpin and professor Goodwitch."
"I didn't think they allowed pets." Pyrrha continued.
Chuckling again. "Well, there's not much they can do to stop her from finding me. Wherever I go she goes, one way or the other. She's a lot more intelligent than people give her credit for." I explained. "Besides as long as she doesn't cause to much trouble, I don't think there will be a problem."
"I hope you're right." Pyrrha said about Taima, with some skepticism.
Nora walked around the table and squatted down to be closer to Taima. "She's so cute." She said as she reached out to pet Taima. Taima put her front paws up on Nora and started licking her face. Nora started giggling and pushed Taima off of her. "She's friendly." She said as she stood up to go back to her seat.
Finishing lunch. "We'll see you in class tomorrow. It's been good meeting you. We're off to get settled into our dorm room." I said as we headed out of the cafeteria.
We stopped at the table Team JSMN were sitting at. "I'm Eilwyn of Team JWCE." I introduced the rest of my Team to Team JSMN.
Jyll, Team JSMN's leader, spoke up and introduced her Team to us. And we all said our hellos.
"It's nice to meet y'all. Speaking for my Team, I hope we'll all be friends. And I'll give you fair warning. If we do become friends. Expect some teasing from me. And I expect some teasing in return." I told them.
Cocking her head to the side, Mousa asked. "What do you mean by teasing?"
I chuckled. "Mostly obvious things. Example, Jett here is short. She knows she's short and has no problem with it. So, I might say something about her lagging behind or not keeping up. And so far, she has not had any problem with keeping up. Then she will respond by saying something about me taking up too much air because I'm bigger than she is. With that said. I won't do any of that until we are friends and I know y'all are comfortable with my teasing." I explained.
Nell nodded her head in understanding. "That makes since. Kind of like friendly jabs." She said.
I put my finger to my nose. "Exactly." I put my hand down. "If I go overboard let me know. I try not to, but sometimes you slip up and go too far. Just smack me upside the head and tell me I've gone too far."
Again, Nell nodded her head. "If we become friend, and I hope we do." She said, with agreement from the rest of her Team.
"Well, we need to set up our dorm room. So, we'll see y'all later." I told them and motioned for my Team to leave.
In our dorm room, Jett looked around the room. "How are we going to set up the beds? I like sleeping in bed with you. Sooo… I'd like to sleep close to you here, too."
I grinned. "Well, there's three ways we can go. One is to put two beds together side by side on either side of the window. I can take one bed and you three can take turns sleeping in the bed next to me." All three girls were frowning at that and shaking their heads, in the negative. "Ok, then we could set the beds up as bunk beds". Again, the girls didn't like that idea. "The last idea would be, we can push all four beds together. Maybe tie the bed legs together so they don't slide apart. Then we can all sleep in the one big bed. You'll still have to figure out who gets to sleep beside me each night."
"That's it. The Third one is what I want." Willow said, raising her hand. Jett piped up. "I like that idea too." And Crystal nodding her head, yes and said. "Me too."
Their responses didn't surprise me. They were what I had expected. "Okay, we can move the beds to the other side of the room and move the desks to the window side of the room. If there is enough room left, we can set up a sitting area close to the window."
"Willow, now's a good time to use your Telekinesis." I told Willow. "Would you move the desks and chairs over by the window?" I asked. "While you're doing that, I'll start moving the beds up against the far wall."
Willow reached out like she was grabbing something, then as she moved her hand, one of the desk chairs floats into the air and moved to where she wanted it, by the window. She repeated the prosses with the desk.
After Willow moved the second chair and desk, I looked at one of the beds and concentrated on lifting it up and moving it to where the first desk had been. The bed moved smoothly to where I wanted it.
Shortly all the beds were lined up along the wall and the desks and chairs had been moved to the walls on either side of the window. I produced some rope and tied the legs of the beds together so they will not slide apart. And since there is enough space in the middle of the room. I created a square coffee table and four swivel-rocking chairs to put around it.
"That's finished. What are we going to do now?" Crystal asks.
I looked at Jett. She didn't look too comfortable. I'm sure she still wasn't sure about being Team leader. After a couple moment's hesitation. "We can stay here and relax. We could walk around campus. Or we could see about visiting Team RWBY or Team JNPR." She said shyly.
Stepping in I added. "We don't have to do everything together, all the time. There is nothing wrong with one, two or three of us doing something and the others doing something else. And no one is going to get mad if someone wants to do something by themselves or with just one other person. And there is nothing wrong with wanting to do most things as a Team, either." I took a seat in one of the chairs. As an afterthought. "Or we can try to figure out how to use our new Scrolls."
Jett took the chair to my right and sat down. "That would be a good idea. Then we can put each other's numbers in our own scrolls, so we can contact each other, if we need to." Jett looked at me. "Not that we need scrolls to contact each other." Then she giggled.
Willow and Crystal took the remaining chairs and pulled out their own Scrolls and started trying to figure out how their scrolls work. The Scrolls do a lot of things, but they were fairly easy to figure out. They are a cross between a cell phone and a tablet. It didn't take very long to find out how to set up each other's numbers into our scrolls.
If you pull on both sides of a scroll the screen will expand too about the size of a small tablet. Then you can push the two sides together to make it the size of the scroll or about the size of an Earth cell phone.
"We can put in the numbers of Team RWBY, Team JNPR and Team JSMN. If we become friends with them." Willow suggested.
"Maybe Team CFVY and anyone else we make friends with here." I added.
We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening getting used to using our Scrolls. We missed supper, but then we didn't need to eat so no one was hungry and none of us missed it.
Taima spent most of her time between trying to help with the scrolls and curled up on the coffee table or bed in her Clouded Leopard form. Either napping or looking at one or the other of us.

Chapter 18: of preparations and plans
AN/ so like the last time here is the next chapter. And due to my full-time job work is unfortunately increased during the holidays. And by the fact that we just got bought out by another company so lots of work to be had as I am working 80 hours + a week. Hopefully, it will slow down after the holiday’s fingers crossed.
Chapter 18: of preparations and plans
It was dark and cold in the sunless realm she ruled over. Salem could admit that. Oh, how she longed to bathe in the sun's brilliant rays once more. Yet when she looked to the horizon, all she could see was the ever dark veil that sealed her to these lands.
Thinking back to when it all went so wrong, and these two square miles of land became her home, her prison…
It was nearly two hundred years ago when a group of mear men, all with red hair, came before her. At the height of her power and laid her low. Just as she was to unleash her horde of Grimm unto the world anew. They had tracked her to the very pits on which she built her castle. Making this her prison. It had taken years to figure out just what the man had done. Whatever otherworldly magic they had cast, it was meant to hold her. Yet it did not stop her servants and her pets from going through and doing her bidding. So that is what she had them do. While she spent her time studying the unique characters that were given life to stop her. As she waited, After all, that was time to an immortal. For soon, she would be free eventually.
]|[
The wait for the airship to get to Vale was some of the most stressful ten minutes of her life. Had it not been for her friends and teammates of RWBY and the girls of AACM, SLVR, and NNPR. Yang would have had to say that. She would have been crawling up the walls. She was definitely going to have to give Weiss her thanks in private.
When the airship finally landed. Yang and her teammates made their way to their first destination. It was a small boutique in the heart of Vales shopping district called cloak & dagger. Rather well known for its leather apparel. It was here that they began their shopping spree with Ernest.
Finding a low cut cream-colored leather vest, she liked Yang paired it with a black cropped jacket with gold bands on the cuffs. And the most adorable skirt she could find. And a pair of boots with ribbons on the back.
When Weiss had picked out another dress, Yang knew that the heiress required a change in her wardrobe.
"Hey, Weiss, let me help you out," Yang said, effectively taking over picking out the heiress clothing choices. Despite her protests to the contrary.
"Uh, no, I think I am fine. It's you who needs some help," Weiss said, pulling out a yellow sundress that had the other girl frowning.
"In case you haven't noticed, I am not exactly the dress-wearing kind of girl. Besides, we're going for a ride. Now, how about you try these on I'm sure Naruto would like to see your ass in this." Yang said, pulling out the smallest pair of short shorts she could find, forcing them into her princess's hands, pushing her to the fitting rooms. Giggling with glee upon seeing Weiss's face flame cherry red with embarrassment.
As everyone else tried to ignore the spectacle, the two girls put on. Enjoying the fact that they were not the focus of the blonde brawler.
Between the hours the girls had spent shopping in the stores in the shopping district. Yang had found a few pairs of high heeled boots along with a nice jacket and a few skirts and other accessories. She was not the only one to have bought something the other girls had their hands ladened with bags as well. At least until Sarada pulled out a pair of scrolls and unraveled them setting the bags on the scroll and pushing her chakra into the scrolls. Their items were sealed away.
While looking for the next store to shop in, they came across a dust shop with its windows smashed in and crime scene tape barring entry.
One of the detectives noticed blake amongst the crowd and made his way over to the group of girls.
"You, their girl, do you know anything about this?!" the officer asked rudely.
"No, I don't," Blake answered cautiously.
"Ha, like you filthy animals don't know." the officer sneered.
He had only backed off because of the detective in charge of the scene calling out, "officer! Get your ass back to your post now!"
It had been a shock for the group to have seen that blunt racism. It was an even greater shock when a Faunus boy had retaliated. By throwing a banana peel at the said officer making a fool out of the man. And leading the police away from the scene on a merry chase.
"Well, that happened," Weiss stated, trying to hide a smile at the young man's antics.
The others broke out into giggles at the boy leading the police on a chase.
Wanting to see just what was happening, Yang gave chase, followed by the other girls. Turning the corner, Yang ran headlong into a smaller girl in an attempt to see how the young Faunus boy was embarrassing the boys in blue of the vale PD.
"Owww," Yang groaned. Looking down at the girl who she had run into.
"Are you two okay?" Ragora asked.
"Yea, I'm fine. Did you see where they went?" Yang asked. Looking around for the prankster and his pursuers.
"Oh, I'm wonderful thank you for asking!" the odd girl exclaimed.
Helping the two to their feet and taking her odd behavior in stride.
"Hello, I'm Penny." the young girl cheerfully introduced herself.
It was with that introduction that the girls would meet the odd and even-intriguing penny. It was this meeting that would lead to a collision of worlds.

Raven was in a bad spot, having been forced to spy on the undisputed ruler of the underworld kitsune. Thinking back, this all started with a raid on a village that had gone horribly wrong. The defenders the town had been on a retainer had seen the Branwen tribe coming from miles away. They called themselves Uzumaki shinobi. Needless to say, it was a trap. And the only way to save her people was to agree to the terms of a binding contract. Calling it a binding contract was an understatement, to be honest. To be sure she had kept her end of the deal, they had marked her with something called seal brand they called a juinjutsu: Kinkoju no Fuda above her heart. While she still had free will, it compelled her to do as they said.
So when they called in her debt. To spy on some blonde, no name kid.she thought that this would be easy, then she would be free.
Their reasons apparently, this kid had triggered some kind of alert, and it had taken them two years just to track him down. Now they needed information.
The most startling thing she had found out was this no-name kid was the ever-elusive Kitsune. The god damned boogie man of the underworld. It was almost enough for her to call it quits and leave this country and find a hole somewhere to hide the seal and it's compulsion be damned.
At least until she had seen him with her children. She had always watched over Yang and ruby from a distance. The only reason why she had left was because Summer went missing. Then she had inherited the maiden powers during her search for the one she cared about more than anything. It was then Raven swore to protect both Yang and Ruby from a distance, even if it meant going back to the tribe. After all, they where the legacy she and summer would leave behind.
She was a mother, and she would protect them no matter what.
It was why, after observing the young man and his companion from a distance. She knew for a fact that they had a violent falling out with the extremist group known as the White Fang. And they were now actively hunting down any White Fang weapon caches. It was likely that the Fang would strike at the latest shipment of dust to restore their stock. It made an even bigger target was that the scheduled delivery was being managed by the SDC. It was just the right kind of mark for the Fang.
Flipping out her scroll, she dialed her Uzumaki handler. He picked out after the second ring as always.
"Talk," he demanded.
"There is likely going to be a raid on a shipment of dust by the White Fang tonight," Raven answered immediately.
"And this concerns us why?"
"Based on what I have gathered, the 'boy' you had me look into is the Kitsune. As you know from my reports about what had been going on in Vale. the masked man Kitsune is likely the boy you have had me watch for the past two months."
It took a moment for him to respond, but when he did, Raven was relieved.
"Right, we will have a team sent to take over and make contact if at all possible. The team will arrive in Vale with in the next six hours. Until then, you are to remain on standby. Once they make contact, your services will no longer be required. You will be released from your contract…" the man had said.
It lifted a weight off her chest after today she would be free…

Ending the call with Raven, the man looked out the window of one of Vale's many skyscrapers in the upper-class tech sector of the commercial district. He had to remark that despite the beautiful view. He would rather be out in the field, fulfilling his purpose as an ANBU. But he was given this assignment for the betterment of Uzushiogakure.
With that in mind, he opened his laptop and attached a drive with seal script on it. The seals flashed red, then blue, and spread to the computer. Securing the device. He pulled up the roster of teams for his area of influence. And had to grimace at his prospects.
There was only one team available for a sortie within the time frame. He just hoped that she would follow the mission directives. Despite being a prodigy, she had a habit of going a bit overboard. When the missions that were given involved the clan.
He opened a messenger and began typing.
~Tenko: I have a mission for you Bakeneko.~
~Bakeneko: you know I hate that code name Akira.~
~Tenko: please don't use my name. We stick to code names for a reason.~
~Bakeneko: okay, you're no fun. What's the job this time?~
~Tenko: you are to go after the target going by the name Naruto Uzumaki aka Kitsune. Bring him in if possible…~
~Bakeneko: are you sure this kid is an Uzumaki?~
~Tenko: no, it's why we want you to bring him in. Your team is the closest and most reliable team currently in Vale. You will make contact with the informant. To get the rest of the mission details. And per the agreement, she is to be freed from service.~
~Bakeneko: by freeing her do you mean…~
~Tenko: no you are not to kill her undoing the seal and letting her go will suffice.~
~Bakeneko: right, I will get to Vale as soon as I can with my team. We are four hours out. Bakeneko signing out.~
The now named Akira let out a sigh. Hoping that things would go well this time around. Grumbling to himself, he lit up a cigarette. And took a long drag then exhaled. As he thought to himself, "God, I need a vacation.
With this one simple act, the wheels of fate would be set into motion once more.

For one James ironwood looking at his fleet of airships, it had once brought him pride. Knowing that with this fleet and the Atlassian paladins and knights, his people would be safe. But now, when looking at them, all he felt was a sense of building dread. Shipments have begun to go missing. And it meant that there was a leak in his military.
It was why he was on his way to a meeting with one of his oldest allies and best friend, Ozpin.
Stepping out of the elevator and into the large office. James knew that this would be one of many conversations he was not looking forward to two.
"Ah James, right on time. Come sit, we have much to discuss. Can I get you some coffee or tea, perhaps?" Ozpin said, pouring a cup of coffee for himself.
"No, that won't be necessary, Oz. I have gone through the documents you sent me, and to be honest, I find it rather troubling. That you are recommending letting in that young man know about solemn and the maidens. We had a plan, Oz, and I don't think that we should abandon it so soon." the general said.
"James, for once, I feel that you are indeed right. However, I would like you to watch these videos. We can discuss what to do after." the headmaster proposed a counter offer.
Pulling up the first of many videos. The pair settled in to view the first of many videos on the candidates in question.
After watching the first of the videos where he watched as the young Uzumaki mended flesh and bone. With the grace of a surgeon without any of the tools in the field no less. The general could say he was in awe at the young man's skill. But the hits just kept rolling after watching his many fights in the combat class. James knew he wanted this young man. If they had access to his skills. Then they would have to push back the darkness.
But what had puzzled him even further was when Ozpin had pulled out a paper scroll and unraveled it showing an odd pattern on the scroll.
"Oz, what is that exactly?" the general had asked. Finding it odd that Beacon's headmaster would have a scroll of all things.
"This James is what that young man called a storage sealing scroll. Now watch." the headmaster said with an odd tone of excitement in his voice.
He then pressed his hand on the odd markings on the scroll and by pushing his aura into the scroll. He unsealed the contents of the scroll in a puff of smoke.
When the smoke cleared. On top of the scroll was a book. One that read Uzumaki fūinjutsu for dummies. All said, it was a rather amusing sight for the headmaster. To see one of his oldest friends looking at him with no clue of what was going on.
With a smirk, Ozpin decided to elucidate just what the small demonstration meant for them. "James, this is fūinjutsu or the sealing arts. A method with the potential of manipulating the very fabric of reality. A power so strong that it may very well rival the power of the maidens themselves."
Ironwood was stunned at the information. And just what this meant for the world if this young man sided with them. It implied that they could finally be able to deal with Salem once and for all.
With this clarity, the general tentatively relayed his hopeful thoughts on the matter. "Oz, does this mean that we can finally put an end to this conflict?" the general asked, hoping beyond hope that there was a light at the end of the tunnel.
Nodding his head in confirmation, the headmaster relaid his thoughts. "Yes, James, from what I understand about fūinjutsu, is that the only thing holding back a user of the art. Is the amount of aura they have and their imagination."
From their things went rather well in the meeting. The only thing that darkened their mood was when the general relaid the information about a mole in the military selling proprietary military secrets and munitions to the Fang. It was something that both men agreed needed to be dealt with and soon.

Things for Blake had been somewhat surreal today. With her team accepting her for who she was. Despite the faults of her past and telling them that she was a Faunus as well. It was why between meeting the moderately eccentric girl by the name of Penny. And hearing about the rash of robberies that had allegedly been committed by the White Fang. That rather interesting Faunus boy. She had been slightly distracted by the rumors that it was the white Fang. That had been behind the break-ins. It was something that the Fang of not more than two years ago would never have gotten involved in.
When they had found an excellent outdoor cafe to sit down for lunch. Blake was still going over everything she knew about the recent rumors of the White Fang. While she did respond when spoken to. Yang could tell that her partner was not interested in the current conversations. It was annoying and something she wanted to fix.
"Okay, Blake spill, just what are you trying to work out in that pretty little head of yours," Yang said exasperated with her current mood.
For a few moments, Blake just blinked blankly. Gathering her thoughts on what she wanted to say. And for a moment, it looked like she would refuse to talk about her troubles to them. It felt like they were going to go back to how they were before. Blake becoming more withdrawn and hiding her feelings from them.
With a sigh, Blake started to explain just what was bothering her. "For a long time, I believed in the cause of the White Fang. Since I was old enough to walk, I could remember my parents taking me to rallies and protests. Always telling me to do what I felt was right. Then things slowly started to change."
Pausing to take a sip of her tea, she continued. "The Fang at first, was all about gaining equal rights through peaceful protest. And when they had a change in leadership. The peaceful protests turned into violent riots and attacks. For a time, it started to work. We finally were being taken seriously. As the Fang began to become more and more radicalized. I became more disillusioned with their goals. Eventually, I left, and here I am hoping to do what is right regardless of who it is I help."
In an attempt to give the other girl some comfort, Yang reached a hand over to grip hers in a sign of support.
Taking the blonde's hand in her own, Blake gave a small smile. Assured in the fact that her friends would be there no matter what happened.
"In the end, it does not matter why if the White Fang is behind the recent string of robberies or not, I would like to see if it was them."
It was a tense moment of silence that was only broken by the most unlikely of people. "Well, if that's all you want, then I may be able to help," Weiss said.
"How?" Blake inquired.
Hesitantly Weiss relaid her answer. "Well, there is a shipment of dust from the SDC coming in today. I know because I get a regular shipment of dust from the company."
While the girls were making their plans to stake out the docks. Sarada had to hide a frown. It seemed as if the white Fang was becoming more and more active. It meant that more would have to be done, and their agents had not given them any actionable intel. With Adam playing things close to the vest. It meant that the Fang was all the more unpredictable.
"Hold up, before you take things any further. If we are going to do this, then we need to do it right. And make things clear we are only doing this to gather intel." Sarada said with a tone that broked no arguments.
It was to this that the group gave a unanimous agreement that these simple rules would be followed to the letter, and they set off to head back to Beacon to gather their weapons. Prepping for what would be unbeknownst to them a fateful collision of worlds.

this weekend i was able to get outside to hike. the weather was promising and the skies were clear. c and i made our way towards tillamook to go to cape meares state park. we intended to go on the lighthouse hike but we’re not aware of the tides. the high tides prevented us from doing the entire hike. we made it towards the beach before we had to turn around.
due to the recent rain the trail was muddy. this caused some problems with ruby as she was ready to charge forth when we were not. on the way back we had a run in with some irresponsible and disrespectful dog owners who did not have their dogs on leashes. their dogs then became aggressive towards ruby, while she tried to be a good girl. she is not the best with other dogs but she tried to handle herself well in this situation. the owners seemed careless of the fact that their dogs had come at c and ruby and ignored us when c reminded them about the leash laws. this is why you need to respect leash laws and other dog owners. the trails need to be safe for everyone, animals included.
afterwards we drove to the lighthouse and explored the area. the lighthouse is not open in the winter so we weren’t able to go inside. we saw the “octopus tree” which is a giant sitka spruce tree where its branches grow outwards like an octopus. the sun found its way to us by the end of our hike and our exploration. we had intentions for a good five mile hike but since that did not happen we are ready for next weekend.
