Summary:

In the distant past, the Guardian of the Milky Way galaxy named Lanancuras began to harbor a desire for more power. Because of his connection to the galaxy, he was able to absorb parts of planets and add them to his strength. As a result, he began invading the worlds he was assigned to protect. In the wake of his destruction, a following of creatures from across the galaxy pledged allegiance to Lanancuras and became known as the Kadrians. Taking notice of his ever-growing power and followers, the other Celestial Guardians confronted him; however, he had become too powerful, and they were defeated. Unable to subdue Lanancuras, the Celestial Guardians each gave up a part of their power and combined it into a single new Guardian, Mushra. In a final desperate attempt, they used Mushra's core by transforming it into a powerful card with which to seal Lanancuras in a prison. The prison was created from the remains of planets that had suffered under Lanancuras' tyranny. Because planets are themselves large beings, their combined strength (along with the power of the card) was able to restrain him. Thus Lanancuras was successfully sealed in a large meteorite.

The meteorite was sent off into the galaxy to be sealed forever. Meanwhile, the way Lanancuras had increased his strength had consequences on the planets of the Milky Way On Earth, around the 22nd century, it was in the shape of a virus that merged with human DNA and destroyed the humans that way. In order to eliminate the virus, scientists worked on combining human DNA with the DNA of animals and other creatures immune to the effects. They succeeded and created a sentient race known as Enterrans (a race of engineered Earthlings) which are based on humans, insects, reptiles, birds, sea creatures, wild beasts, and phantom beasts. Eventually, a cure was found and the human race survived.

However, due to Lanancuras' influence, the Enterrans fought their human creators as well as the robots that worked with the humans, driving the human race to a near extinction state. Luckily, a scientist named Dr. Daigo Tatsuro placed his 4-year-old daughter Yakumo in a sleep chamber in hopes that she would save the human race and find the human sanctuary Shinzo and bring peace back to Earth which was then renamed to Enterra. When the meteor that Lanancuras was imprisoned in struck Earth during the earlier parts of the Human-Enterran War, its fragment had struck an infant Yakumo giving her abilities that she would later discover.

A soft knock on the door announced a visitor, and Melissa only really walked inside after she was granted permission. It was a surprise visit, and one that Daigo would not have denied if he had known the identity of the other person, but it was easy to see that the former hostess had created that situation on purpose.

Melissa was grinning, and holding a very suspicious package in her hands with a peculiar rectangular format. Approaching the desk where Daigo worked from, the woman paused to give him a kiss - on the lips, and a proper one in light of their privacy - before taking a seat on the edge of his work station.

There was no special occasion - she just had prepared something for the ex-yakuza and wished to deliver in person. "Don't worry, one of your uncles is taking care of Hikari while I came here - and by that I mean Saejima, of course," Melissa chuckled, knowing how their youngest loved her 'taiga', enough to be quiet and happy in his arms instead of making a fuss (and, strangely enough, Saejima's intimidating size did nothing for Hikari).

Handing him the wrapped gift, Melissa watched as Daigo opened the thing - and it was a portrait, one with a much more recent picture of the Dojimas: in very traditional fashion, they had done a professional photoshoot, with the ex-hostess sitting down and holding their daughter in her arms; Kazuya standing right by her side in a semi-hug and Daigo standing at the back, looking every bit the protector he was with a hand on his wife's shoulder and another on his son's.

Except for the modern clothes and the technology involved, it could have been a painting for a family of wealthy individuals a couple of centuries past - and while they had done it as a gift for Yayoi (who had not so subtlety mentioned that her prior one was too old given how fast her grandkids were aging), Melissa got a second copy framed for Daigo, too. He could use it on his desk, after all.

"This way you can keep us with you all day. Not that this gives you an excuse for overtime," Melissa teased him, laughing when Daigo pushed his chair back with the help of the little wheels and hoisted her on his lap - not at all a position fitting for the CEO of a firm, but right then the professional had taken a break; he was just a father holding the mother of his children in his arms and being rewarded with a kiss for that.

UNSCRIPTED / always accepting.

Daigo was bent over his desk, looking at a file on his laptop, when he heard the knock. The former Chairman called for his visitor to enter, still distracted by the screen in front of him. However, the moment his dark eyes flicked over to identify the person entering, Daigo's focus was immediately stolen from his work. Without question, he closed his computer's lid and sat back.

The click of the door shutting neatly gave Daigo the confidence to kiss his wife in return. He raised an eyebrow at the package but waited patiently for some sort of explanation. Melissa's quickness to soothe his fears about the location of their daughter made the ex - yakuza chuckle. It was true that he did wonder at her absence — though, it was really a question of who in the office had stolen her away. Sasaki and Saejima were the two most likely temporary guardians of the Dojimas' princess. Daigo was not surprised to hear that the imposing tiger with a heart of gold had won the baby ; Hikari was very partial to him, even at such a young age.

Daigo accepted the present from his wife with murmured thanks. He opened it carefully, reached for his glasses, and placed the packaging to the side. As he stared at the picture, his expression softened noticeably.

For his desk, she said. The former Chairman glanced up at the other photographs that decorated his station. Almost all of them were of his children, and those that were not featured Melissa. Images from their weddings, each of Kazuya and Hikari's first portraits as newborns, school photographs, and so on. Daigo smiled warmly at the thought that he would be adding this new one to his collection. It was perfect : the progression of their miraculous family and evidence of the flourishing Dojima line. While the ex - yakuza claimed to work for the betterment of those who had been cut down or forced out by proper society, he knew in his heart that was a lie. What he really toiled every hour for was them. In the hopes that Kazuya could study the dinosaurs that he was obsessed with as an adult ; that Hikari would grow up spoiled, as she was now and would to be for years to come ; and that he could provide the tools for Melissa to build the safe, happy life she so desperately deserved.

Daigo cleared his throat. He didn't trust himself to speak at first. Gently, he set the picture out of the way. The former Chairman rolled his chair backwards in order to free up his lap. His coarse hands grabbed his wife by her waist and pulled her down onto his thighs. Daigo wrapped his arms around her loosely, glad for the familiar warmth and weight of her.

"Thank you for thinking of me," Daigo whispered, kissing her forward after their initial embrace was through. He leaned his cheek against her hair and sighed affectionately. "This will be the centerpiece of my collection."

Melissa rested her hand on his broad chest and smiled in the fabric of his suit. Daigo smelled like a mix of cigarette smoke, coffee, and the woodsy body wash she was fond of. The head of Osamu's office was cool, as one would expect in a company building, and yet his strong body remained a blazing furnace. In other words, this was the most safe, most comfortable spot in the whole world to her.

"Which is it replacing ??" she asked softly, glancing at the other photos. "What is your favorite picture up here, anata ??"

Daigo patted her side. He lifted his head and moved his arm. There was no question in his mind about what his answer would be. The ex - yakuza nudged open the lid of his laptop, pressed his thumb to the pad for identification, and minimized everything. What was left was a photograph so tender that Daigo didn't have it among the framed items on his desk. This was just for him — and for Melissa, who realized she had never seen his work laptop without any open windows on the screen. It rarely left this room, regardless, and was locked up here when it wasn't being used.

The laptop's wallpaper was a tremendously old photo, which was a touch blurry due to how many devices it had been transported across in its life. Daigo didn't remember much about the circumstances of its capture ( his memory was so shot, it was a miracle he could recall as much as he did ). Only that, at some point, another hostess at Shine had grabbed his primitive flip phone and teasingly snapped pictures of the King of Kamurocho and his favorite entertainer in their well - worn booth. Melissa had seen the nicest of the bunch and likely possessed several copies of it.

This particular still, however, was not that — it had captured the moment that Daigo assumed the pictures were done and turned to look at Melissa before she stopped grinning ahead. The depth of feeling on Daigo's face didn't fit the dried blood on his neck, holes in his jeans, or drink in his fist, but that hadn't stopped it from appearing. For her.

"I will admit that is hard to beat, Mel," Daigo said, breaking the silence. The use of his pet name for her, which had begun in those days, made the ex - hostess' heart skip a beat. He kissed the top of her hair. " — and that photo is my excuse for overtime, you know. I thought back then that you deserved better from me, and I have spent every year since trying to own up to it. That ugly mug there loved you. So does this one." Daigo issued a bark of light laughter.

The Man Who Left His Will on Film (Nagisa Oshima, 1970)

Nagisa Oshima's The Man Who Left His Will on Film owes something to Michelangelo Antonio's Blow-Up (1966) in that both involve photography that tantalizes and hints at an unsolved (unsolvable?) mystery. But Oshima's film has political overtones, a kind of goodbye-to-all-that movie about the waning of student protests in Japan. The story it tells is about the quest of Motoki (Kazuo Goto) to find out why a young activist, Endo (Kazuya Horikoshi), committed suicide when he was being chased by police across a rooftop. Motoki tries to puzzle out Endo's motives by retracing the footage he left in the camera he was holding when he leaped (fell? was pushed?). But the film resists interpretation almost as much as the one Oshima made about it. Oshima is always surprising and enigmatic, and this is one of his more challenging works.

I went with Takeuchi Akari-san And then Sasaki Rikako-chan came as well

Takeuchi-san, Was actually planning on going with her parents but, It seems like it wasn't convenient for them anymore so, I was suddenly invited😳⚠️ lol

I'm happyyyy to see it again this year

When I saw it last year as well, Its impact was impresive but,

seeing its impresive impact again, Also I was closer than I was last time, The entire casts great concentration… Like I'll make those facial expressions they made too…

Eeh, my impression is strange, right 🫤🫤lol I often make the same face when I see it🫤🫤 lol

Thats how charming the facial expressions were, that I saw!

Kaga Kaede-chan was also really cool as expected~!

There were some scenes I remembered from the premier performance but, What's more in my memory is that,
