Son of Assassins
After an argument with the Fentons where they admitted they were not his birth parents, Danny fled town. He kept up his communication with Jazz, Sam and Tucker of course, but he didn't plan to return until he found out his true parentage.
Maybe they had the answer to why Dan had tried to destroy everything during his mourning, was it something genetic that could be activated? or was he imagining it?
His search leads him to Nanda Parbat, a place he has had flashes of memories that are honestly not very good but was necessary in his search for answers. There he meets his biological mother who is quite upset by his presence and hides him before the guards can notice. Danny doesn't get it but considering he invaded a ninja base he guesses she's justified.
Talia confesses that maybe leaving the clone in a small town in the middle of nowhere wasn't the best of ideas. But the boy was too good at training for his own good and if he continued down that path he would be discarded by Ra. And it's not like she could give him to Slade, considering that Slade didn't know of his existence.
Although looking at him closely it was likely that she could fool Bruce into thinking that he was another of his children. It seemed that Slade's serum hadn't activated yet, or his hair would be white and his eyes would be bright green.
Now, how do you explain to a teenager that he is actually a clone destined to be the guard of the future demon head and was saved by her selfish desire to want to give one of his children a childhood?

See, the big thing I got from the original three Night at the Museum movies was that the qualities of the best night guard are compassion, empathy, intuition, and ingenuity. Larry was good at understanding and learning about the exhibits, what they wanted and how to make them happy, how to help them get along with each other.
Kahmunrah Rises Again completely ignores that and turns it into a generic vague issue of confidence and physical capability, with the extra Deus Ex Machina hail-Mary of being able to understand music & having a smart tablet on hand.
Going by the first three movies, if Nick needed to "prove himself" as a fit replacement for Larry, he should have been shown to be able to help exhibits, not "save the world" (even if that's what happened in the 2nd movie - funny how the stakes weren't even that high in the 3rd and originally final movie. It called out the Tablet's prophecy/warning being about the end of the magic, not the end of the world).
If they wanted to bring Kahmunrah back, Nick's best way to prove himself as a good if not better night guard would be to help redeem Kahmunrah and establish a positive relationship with his family and the rest of the exhibits!

i do love canon amy & rory but god, does some part of me wish they really had gone with the idea of the doctor picking up a child as a companion (and then later, that child’s best friend with a huge crush on her.) with the rest of the season really not changing at all, except now it’s amelia pond with an angel in her head killing her and lost alone in the woods. it’s little rory who dies and is forgotten and becomes a toy soldier. if this is going to be a fairy tale, then let it be one. children have never been safe in fairy tales.

listen...listen... idk man i didn't expect downfall to hit me as hard as it did. but i'm at the end of ep101 and i have cried more maybe than during any other part of this story...and what a story within a story downfall is
it's about faith, the faith the mortals have in the gods and that the gods have in mortals, the faith in their creations, in and for their love of each other. and there is something so moving and intoxicating and emotional about that depiction, of gods deciding to become mortals to achieve an end goal, but of learning how much mortals love and feel and suffer
just the love between them all, everyone depicted. the wildmother and the lawbearer... the emissary.... trist and ayden, the everlight and the dawnfather... fucking just....everyone
idk man this sort of tragic story really just gets me so so so fucking bad, it hits me in such a unique way

Titan, I’m just thinking.
⚠️ more toh spoilies :D
Here we have a literal child god trapped in a dinner-plate who was tricked and used for many millennia.
A child who, probably spent the hundreds of years (between the people who betrayed them) crying and screaming out into the void for SOMEBODY to hear them.
A child who constantly spoke about making friends and never being left alone again.
Only to be made to fuck off into space for some “growing up”.
How the fuck is a kid supposed to “grow up” properly without an example of what to grow into???
The Collector visiting every now and again doesn’t really make a difference either.
Titan, it just pisses me off so bad at how this kid was abused for so long with nobody to help them.

Reagan Ridley X Neglected! Child! Reader Headcanons
Hello there, welcome to another Reagan Ridley headcanon dump from me. Unless this is your first time seeing me, in that case, welcome 🙂.
Obviously these are platonic because this is a child reader and we don't do pedo shit here.
Also this takes place in an AU where Rand doesn't live with Reagan.
Let's go !
● Reagan one day was just driving home from work and that's when she spotted you on the streets.
● She at first didn't think too much about it until she noticed your rather... bad condition.
● Feeling sympathetic, she offered to take you to her place.
● You instantly took up her offer without hesitation.
● After explaining your situation, Reagan felt like she needed to take care of you.
● She knew what it was like to have shitty parents and a bad childhood and she would never wish it upon even her worst enemy.
● And so she offered to adopt and take care of you.
● A lot of tears were shed and hugs were exchanged that day.
Don't have anything to say here so... bai :D.

So, i finished watching Batman (2022). Long story short, it's wonderful. The cinematography and the atmosphere are simply impeccable, it's got one of the best productions i have seen in blockbuster superhero movies in the last decade. The flow of the movie is perfectly executed and choreographed; it's a truly seamless visual experience, eye candy to the bone, and the story is intriguing and lovely and pleasing to the senses too. It's a reasonably well made movie.
It also does quite remind me of my main point of disdain towards live action Batman depictions post-Batman&Robin, which is, i think fellas take Batman way too seriously.
Listen, the guy walks around with fucking pikachu ears on for fucks sake. I dont think that straight up looney tunes comic relief is the right flavour to put in the live action batmanverse blender, even though it has the potential to be incorporated very well, but. There's a certain quality of offbeat, paculiar weirdness to Batman, a quality of almost playful and offputting bizarre wit, there always has been. He's got a fucking sith pikachu mask on. It's very human, very endearing almost. it's an element of imagination and wonder which is something Bruce Wayne has, even when it's corrupted to only include doom and gloom scenarios.
and the comics successfully translate that subtle wit and uncomfortable quality of all the characters, including Batman, by incorporating acidic colors, borderline hallucination-esque imageries, warped character designs, the whole thing feels like the worst acid trip you've ever had in an alley behind a bar and that's how the tone carries. It's how the worldbuilding and the characters feel congruent and authentic. The colors also give Batman a dynamic personhood by depicting his unceremonious humanity as much as they buff him up. There's a fun and gore-ish, psychopathic sincerity to the comics.
and the movies absolutely take that element out and all you get is the most "just some guy" artless character depictions and Batman himself doesn't feel human. he is written way too seriously for a guy who has pikachu ears and wears his underwear on his pants.
And this is by no means a Batman (2022) problem; it's a persisting trend of live action superhero media progressively stripping their stories of heart and soul because executive fellas have cought the "THIS IS A BIG FUCKING DEAL!!!!! EVERYTHING IS SO SERIOUS HERE!!!!!" disease and think giving superhero narratives their color and humanity back somehow makes them less poignant and significant. There's no sense of dynamism and wit to the batman movies, and the tone and atmosphere of Batman (2022) is fucking gorgeous, it's a singular experience, but it feels so out of place with Batman. It feels like Batman's costume belongs to another movie entirely, something more playful and weird.

seeing more and more comments and thoughts online where people are more sympathetic with demeter and not villainising her because she "gets in the way" of the "feminist" girlboss fantasy of persephone/hades
god it makes me so happy... hope this paves way for more adaptations that focus on their positive mother/daughter relationship. ill be happiest with persephones rejection her fate with hades too but im not picky LMAO i just want people to stop slandering demeter for the CRIME OF WANTING TO SAVE HER DAUGHTER

keep seeing theories along the lines of "cobel is obsessed with getting gemma and mark to remember each other because she has either her daughter or her mother in the same position as gemma and wants to see if severance can be transcended autonomously" and like yes yes yes thats so close to being on the right track but I've said it before and I'll say it again: there's no third party here. gemma is the daughter cobel is trying to get back. I'm convinced idc.

thinking about how fucked up maigoen is, but not as one of the children entering, but as a parent of one of the Hydrangea Daycare kids.
Imagine raising a child, having an ordinary life. You have many things that are important to you, because you have adult responsibilities, but your child is one of your top priorities. You send them to daycare, and one day they come back with a pamphlet to go to an amusement park. You sent them on field trips before, and you know that there are other adults looking out for your child. So you sign it out, pay the money if it needs to be paid, and send them off again.
You wait, but they haven't come home yet, even though they should have 10, 20 minutes ago. You try to rationalize it. "Surely," you think, "It must be a long bus ride to the theme park and back. They're walking home right now, and I'll give them their favorite meal for dinner."
It's been a hour now. You can't fight off the anxiety anymore. You walk all the way to the daycare, about to give one of the teachers a scolding for not letting you know they were going to be back in town so late, and all you see is other adults like you. Calling the police to report 18 different missing person cases. Calling the teachers, but they don't pick up.
A pit you didn't even know you had in your stomach opens up.

Personally, I came to a pretty solid understanding of who is what in 1899 as in, it's hard for me to see it any other way than that both Elliot and Daniel are not real. They are both parts of Maura's psyche developed as instruments to cope with her psychological issues.
Other core characters are real but their journeys inside the simulation have very little to do with their real lives. I think that because we have been plagued by the inverted triangle symbol (or the earth element symbol) throughout the whole series except for the last scene on the space ship, where the only such symbol present is a tattoo on Maura's head. And, in the simulation, the shafts that lead to the core memories of every character is under the door marked by the symbol on Maura's head. I believe that means those are not the characters' memories but Maura's.
Or, rather not memories but scenes replaying some events of her life from different angles. I think it is similar to psychodrama where different events, points of view and even aspects of one's personality are being embodied and acted out by different people. I couldn't help but notice that both memories and events from simulation had a lot of similar motifs. The most notable ones are: a mother going insane; a father that, despite her madness, chooses her over their child; saving a loved one by sacrificing your life or well being; a love triangle, possible cheating; impersonating a dead man.
The Insane Mother plot is the most clear-cut and relates to Maura's own recollection of her parents: the mother lost her memory, even of her own children, yet the father kept caring and being gentle only to her. Eyk's wife, mother of three, went insane and killed herself with her children; Ling Yi's mom temporarily lost her mind and jumped to the sea; Tove's mother tormented the whole family yet her husband decided to stay with her in their last hours instead of helping Tove; lastly, Maura, Elliot's mother, has no memory of him and yet all his father cares for is her freedom and well-being. Even Henry points out that out of the two, Daniel will always choose Maura, not his son. If you get to the bones of these scenarios they all tell the same story: a mother lost her mind/memory and in her madness abandoned her children; a father, if present, chose her and thus betrayed said children.
I believe that in the simulation Maura actually works through that trauma, and not the loss of her child. She never seems particularly upset that she can't have children, never really connects to Elliot, she seems to have lost something but a child is not what she seeks. That and the fact that Elliot has the same tattoo in the same place as her makes me think that he is Maura, or rather, the embodiment of her inner child. Thus the trauma of mother's insanity is worked through from all possible angles: the husband (Eyk, Daniel, Tove's father), the woman herself going insane (Maura, Iben), an adult who can, ultimately, understand both parents' situation and choices (Tove), the child, who is losing both parents and can never, ever understand this as something other than betrayal (Elliot).
I think that Daniel is a similar construct to Elliot but not that Maura has no husband - in the end, the ring is too significant for the whole simulation. However, the second most prominent scenario is about a partner who has wandering eye or even cheating. The show is full of love triangles, to the point of being slightly ridiculous if they are not so abundant with a purpose. And, Maura is traumatised by something to the point of trying to completely forget it. As important as parent-child relationships are, I don't think that this is it. I think that Maura is married (to Eyk, probably) and has been cheated on - which can be devastating on its own but also reinforces her childhood trauma of not being chosen. Hence, all the love triangles from all the angles and various degrees of cheating from all points of view. And that's why, I think, Maura invented Daniel, a man resembling her husband (and father...) who always chooses her over everybody else, even himself. If you dive deeper into psychoanalysis Daniel might also be Maura's Animus guiding her through the labyrinths of her own subconscious but capable of existing only there - hence "I will always be there" before she wakes up.
Another possibility is that Maura is Eyk's other woman but I just think that the first one works better. Anyway I am 99% sure about Elliot and that other passengers were forced to experience Maura's psyche, possibly by Maura herself. She might be not a very nice person, yeah. That still leaves many more possibilities for further seasons both plot-wise and in terms of psychology and drama of the characters - and the spaceship being another simulation too.

Reagan Ridley X Neglected! Child! Reader Oneshot
Ok so y'all know that Reagan x neglected child reader headcanons I made, right ? I couldn't help but feel an urge to also make a oneshot about it.
This will follow a similar scenario as the headcanons one so I advise you read that first (not required to understand where I'm going with this plot though.)
Enough blabbering, it's showtime !
Trigger warning : This one-shot will contain mentions of neglect, mental abuse and nearly fainting. If any of these things make you uncomfortable, please scroll past this post. You have been warned.
3rd person POV
In the middle of an alleyway you desperately searched for some kind of food, but alas anything you found was either disgusting or simply not enough to fulfill your hunger. With a sigh you leaned against the nearby wall as you swore you could feel your vision get blurry. All you could do now was close your eyes and pray someone will come by to help you. Not like that will happen though... Right ?
Reagan's POV
As I drove back home, I spotted out of the corner of my eye a kid. At first I didn't pay much attention but I soon noticed something very wrong with them. The kid looked skinny, TOO skinny to be exact. They also looked to be nearly fading into unconciousness.
I thought about what I should do, I couldn't just leave them ! That'd be heartless of me ! But I have quite a busy job so... I'm not sure about taking them in.
..Ah what the hell.
"Hey ! Need a place ?" I shouted at the kid, they turned around and their tired expression turned into one of happiness.
"Y-yes please !" The kid shouted back at me as they instantly got into my car in the back seat, I instantly drove back to my home.
Small timeskip
After putting on my regular clothes and giving the kid some food, I figured it was time to ask them about what was going on and why they were all alone in an alleyway.
"So kid, I got some questions for you. If you're comfortable answering them of course." I gently said.
"O-of course ! Ask me anything, it's the least I could do to repay you." The kid replied.
"Ok good, so, why were you alone in an alley ?" I asked, the kid's mood seemed to dip a little.
"I- I ran away from home." The kid revealed to me, I grit my teeth a bit before speaking up again.
"Why did you run away ? Did something happen between you and your family ?"
"My p-parents never cared for me, they always either i-ignored me completely or they would constantly insult me. Telling me I'm w-worthless and stuff like that." The kid answered.
I wasted no time and instantly hugged them, I knew the pain of having unloving parents, a shitty childhood...
There was something in me, telling me to take care of this kid. I- I needed to ! I wasn't gonna let them potentially be taken by another scumbag family !
"You're staying with me !" I declared to the kid as I ended the hug, they seemed surprised.
"H-huh ?" Was all they muttered.
"You're gonna be staying with me, I'll be adopting you. You won't have to go back to that shit- terrible family of yours."
Tears of I presume joy, ran down the kid's eyes as they once again wrapped their arms around me for a hug. Was what I doing here the best decision ? Probably not... but I made this choice, and I was gonna be sure to be the best mother I could to this kid.
I had so much fun writing this ngl.
Reagan I feel would be that type of mom who tries her best, she's not the greatest but she does try to make her kid(s) happy.
Alright, that's all for now.
Sayonora~.
