what once was mine | ch 4
Loki x Reader
Series Summary: When watching what once was supposed to be the rest of his life, in an empty room in the TVA, Loki sees someone he can't recognize; a girl who's all tenderness and loose smiles, and most importantly, she was smiling at him.
A/N: Not sure if I'm completely happy with how this chapter came out, but I hope you still enjoy it.

Loki had watched through a checkered screen how you held onto his hand as if he were your whole world. He had watched the love in your eyes and the smile on your lips, all directed at him. And now, he watched as you, in flesh and bone right in front of him, walked away.
There was a foreign feeling consuming his heart the more you distanced yourself from him. It was akin to loss, but how could he lose something that wasn't even his?
He was about to make the mistake of going after you when Mobius finally returned from the storage room he had been talking to you in.
"What happened?" Loki asked with a hint of urgency, his brows furrowed.
Mobius took in a long breath and then let it go past his lips. "She said she wants nothing to do with you."
Loki's frown only deepened, his eyes shifting between Mobius and the place you had disappeared into. If anything, he looked slightly offended. "Why?"
"Well, it's pretty obvious that she watched her Loki die, right?" Mobius gestured around, sounding a little fed up with all of this. "So it's a delicate subject, give her time, don't get on her face, don't be obnoxious, and she'll likely come around and be willing to answer whatever it is you wanna ask."
Loki blinked at the words, chewing at the inside of his cheek. "I'm not obnoxious."
─── ·❆· ───
"Stop looking at me like a lost puppy," you grumbled with a scowl on your features, gripping tightly onto your food tray.
Loki, who stood right beside you, scoffed. "I am not. I'm looking at the rice you're standing right in front of."
You breathed in, slowly, holding yourself back from rolling your eyes. It's been three weeks since Mobius tried to reintroduce you two, and for the past two weeks, you've gained a new shadow. He doesn't talk much; or interacts much with you at all for that matter. But he's always there.
TVA's cafeteria was usually bustling with people this time of day, which was exactly why you always came by at least an hour earlier; but today you got caught up with work and there was no other option than to brave the crowds, otherwise, you'd stay without lunch.
When you'd picked up everything you wanted to eat, you turned around and surveyed the spacious room for any vacant tables. By the corner and near the railings that overlooked the city—or, what you would call a city here in the TVA, because to be honest, you still weren't sure what to name most of the things in this place—stood the only vacant table left, small and round, with two lonely chairs.
You closed your eyes and mumbled a curse under your breath. You made a beeline for the table, and you didn't have to look behind you to know that Loki was following your steps.
You settled into a chair and a few seconds later Loki made himself comfortable beside you. It was… strange, having him around. The racing of your heart every time he was near you was inevitable, but you were doing the impossible to dissociate any feelings from it. He was just another variant, that was it, nothing more. You just wished you knew what his obsession with you was all about, so what if he saw his would-be future with you? That was not yours or his life anymore.
"Your food is gonna get cold."
Loki's voice caught your attention, you glanced toward him with a frown, only now realizing that you'd been poking your food around with your fork for a while, lost in thought. For a heartbeat, you held his gaze, you allowed yourself to drown in those ever-familiar bright eyes that you'd missed so much. But before you could lose yourself in the ocean, you swam back up. This wasn't your Loki, no; you had to remind yourself of it, time and time again. For your own sake, you had to believe in that lie.
For the last couple of weeks that he'd been following you around, more and more you noticed the same glint in Loki's eyes, a mix between expectant and lost. You wondered if even he knew what exactly he wanted from you.
The only answer you gave to him was a low hum.
─── ·❆· ───
The days inside the TVA blend together easily, that was something you learned in your first few weeks here. In all fairness, it's what one would expect for a place out of time. Sometimes the day they captured you as just another variant felt like ages ago. Sometimes, it felt like just yesterday.
It had been difficult when you first arrived here, nearly unbearably so. In the blink of an eye, you had lost your entire life, everyone you still loved and held dear became unreachable. It was either starting a new life here, or ending your life altogether. For some reason, you still felt like living.
The TVA kept you busy then, enough for you to not succumb to panic. As days went by, it became easier; as time passed, or as Mobius would tell you, as time passed differently, you became almost numb to what you'd lost. Almost.
A sigh went past your lips as you ran your fingertips over the paper. Mobius usually had you go over each file reporting a possible new Loki variant. Finding patterns and creating connections they otherwise wouldn't have noticed. You tried not to dwell too much on the fact that you had to use your connection to the person you once loved as a form of work.
Your desk stood by the edge of the library, away from too much commotion, a cozy little space you'd given your own personal touch to over the time you'd been here. A few books here, a small cassette player there, a snack drawer, a sketchbook, a purple desk lamp; small things to remind yourself you were still human.
As much as you could, you made a new home here.
A shadow suddenly appeared over the paper in your hands, you straightened your posture on your chair before looking up.
Loki stood before you, in his dress shirt and dark jacket with the word variant on the back—you'd worn one of those too on your first days here, now that you recall. He held a fresh stack of papers in his hands that already had you internally groaning.
"Mobius sends his regards," Loki smirked as he dropped the papers on your desk.
"Great," you mumbled, sarcasm dripping from your words, "it's not like I wanted to sleep tonight anyway."
A beat passed and you could feel Loki's gaze still lingering on you. From the corner of your eyes you watched as his fingers nervously tapped the wood of your desk. You hated that you knew this habit of his oh so well.
"Maybe I could assist you." Loki pulled a chair from the empty table to your left, setting it on the edge of your desk so he could sit down. But before he did so, he said, "If you'd like."
He was giving you an out from spending time with him, even if that was clearly what he wanted. You nearly took it. Your lips hung open, ready to say something like; I work better alone, or go bother someone else. But your eyes suddenly had a faint burn behind them, your chest squeezing tight around your heart—the heart that still bled and missed him every day. "Knock yourself out," you found yourself saying, without looking up from your paperwork.
Loki sat down on his chair beside you, took a few of the papers in his hands, and for a good few minutes, the silence that lingered between you was, surprisingly, somewhat comfortable.
Stealing glances at you was inevitable. As Loki read the files in his hands, the words started to blur together, and he found his gaze drifting to you. He observed the way you'd frown slightly as you read over the lines, sometimes scoffing or mumbling something to yourself.
You were quite annoying, Loki had to agree with Mobius on that. Stubborn, closed off, and hard to read. If it were anyone else, Loki wouldn't even consider losing his time of day, but each time he saw you, his heart jumped and stumbled inside his chest, he grew short of breath, cold hands turning clammy. It was inevitable. His body acting against his will, as if his soul ached to touch yours.
He had to know why.
"May I ask," Loki began, hints of hesitance in his words.
Your eyebrow perked up a little, but you still refused to look at him.
Loki pursed his lips before speaking, "Mobius mentioned you've been here a while, that he found you could be useful. But he never went into detail." He let go of the papers in his hands, "how did you get here? Why didn't they prune you?"
You visibly tensed. Jaw setting tightly into place as you took in a short breath through your nose. For several moments, you kept quiet, eyes fixed on the same words in the file you held as you considered whether to humor him or not. You weren't sure why you answered, the words simply rolled off your tongue; a subconscious reaction to the sound of his voice.
"It was my fault, I tried to travel through time when I knew I shouldn't. They caught me pretty much immediately." You chuckled humorlessly, stealing a glance toward Loki only to find his eyes already focused on you. You nearly drowned again. "They kept me around because…" You hesitated, and then merely gestured to the scattered papers on your desk; "I know a lot about Lokis," you shrugged, "and they needed help with that."
A small frown came to Loki's features as he weighed your words. He twirled one of your pencils between his fingers. "Why would you travel through time if you knew you shouldn't?"
Immediately, Loki knew he'd touched a nerve. Your whole demeanor changed, it almost felt like a curtain had fallen over you and a whole new person sat beside him. What little you had began to open up, was back under lock and key.
You didn't raise your voice, you didn't lash out. You simply cleared your throat, turned away from him, and said; "I thought you wanted to stay to help me work. So either do that, or leave me be."
Loki's lips hovered, ready to retaliate with a quip of his own, but he bit back any words he might want to say. Give her time.
He nodded to no one in particular, and indeed went back to work.
Later at night, when the TVA was strangely quiet, and most people had already turned in for the night. Loki glanced beside him only to find you drifting into sleep; one hand holding your cheek and the other loosely holding a pencil that had scratched a weird, faint line into the file on your desk.
It felt unexpectedly intimate. Loki glanced from one side of the dim-lit library to the other, as if looking for a clue on what he should do.
Carefully, almost comically so, he took the pencil from your delicate hold and stacked the file you had with the small pile he'd created.
The desk lamp right beside you cast a faint glow over your features, shaping your cheekbones, nose, and lips. Loki couldn't help but notice, that the light also shaped a thin but rather deep scar running from your forehead to the beginning of your left eyebrow; from the look of it, it appeared to have been there for a while now.
Without giving himself too much room to overthink, Loki reached out and gave a single push to your shoulder. His fingers tingled from your warmth.
You stirred awake, gasping softly as soon as you opened your eyes. You blinked several times, willing your mind to focus back on reality.
"I suppose we're done," Loki told you, keeping his voice just an octave lower as he turned his gaze to the small stack of papers. "If you're quick, you can still grab a few hours of sleep before the new day starts."
"Right," you breathed, running a hand through your hair. Eyebrows still furrowed as you processed what was happening.
You tidied your desk in silence, and Loki put the chair he had borrowed back in its place. He turned to you then, half expecting you to simply turn around and walk away. You didn't, and maybe it was a trick of the light, or the fact that he could visibly notice your eyes dropping from tiredness, but your features were the softest he had ever seen them be. A quick glimpse of the girl he'd first seen from the life he was supposed to have.
Loki held his breath. He wasn't sure why, but he did.
"Thank you for the help," you gave him a tight-lipped smile, refusing to hold his gaze for more than a second, "see you around."
With that, you turned around and left. Loki's heartbeat kept the same rushed pace until he reached his own small bedroom.

Reasons Lokius could be canon:
Sylki was probably mainly canon to teach Loki self love. Now he can finally love without hurting others.
It didn’t hurt as much for Loki to stay behind at the TVA this time (bc he has Mobius)
They mentioned Loki is bi in season 1 (and it’s Disney so it might have been for a reason)
Pie Symbolism (It symbolizes comfort, eternity, love) and their little pie date (plus mobius eating Mc-apple pie while staring longingly at Loki)(but tbf, mobius did also pick up sylvie in a pizza pie car in s1)
The close ups during intimate moments
Brad and B-15 called Loki Mobius’ pet (also he acts like his pet. Waiting for his permission to use magic, being compared to cats, literally a collar??, following after him)
They are so smiley around each other :]
They care for each other and check up on each other
Mobius risking his life for Loki
Mobius supports Loki’s mischief
The fact that they both got betrayed by their possible female love interests last season and now are just depending on each other
The contrast between the lokius and sylki shots that now exist in s2
Their little parallels to timeslayer (examples: when Victor and Loki fell, Ravonna ran to Victor and Mobius to Loki literally in the same shot. Timely gave her a cone shaped flower and Mobius gave Loki the paper cone filled with Cracker Jack. Probably more.)
Love is a dagger according to Loki, and Mobius gave him two daggers in s1 (though 1. he wasn’t the only one that had dagger moments with him obviously (though he was the only one to give him two) and 2. they got taken away from Loki immediately (symbolism))
Mobius knows Loki’s whole life like the back of his hand (this annoys the shit out of all his coworkers
Loki comparing himself to how his brother Thor went to Earth and went soft… (because Thor fell in love with a Mortal…) this was right after he defended Mobius…
Loki fixing up his jacket and hair before he sees Mobius/Don again. (He does this with no one else)
Don/Mobius always mentioning how he is now single when talking to Loki (first: “it’s hard being a single dad” than “oh yeah I don’t have a wife anymore so you can take that jet ski”)
Loki wants his friends back (he wants Mobius back)
The way everyone one else is always awkward whenever they are bickering (third wheeling)
Reasons Lokius won’t be canon:
Disney.
The head writers are fucking idiots (when it comes to queerness)
Is coded canon? Disney wouldn’t let it show on screen but… is coding canon?

Okay I think I made y'all wait long enough LOL
SORRY THEY'RE ALL UNCLOTHED BTW, I HAVENT FIGURED OUT OUTFITS YET- 💀
I don't really have a lot to share tbh in terms of lore/plans. This AU is very VERY fresh in my brain atm. But I will fill in some details for you guys so you somewhat/mostly understand the current characters I have for now.
---
Tumblr media
Shadow
He is a red diamond (ultimate lifeform yada yada), and as stated, a "blood" diamond. I mean this somewhat in modern terms, but not entirely. In real life, diamonds mined in a war zone and sold to fund the costs, hence "blood". In this case; Shadow was created by the other diamonds (primarily white) as a weapon, the plan was to have a gem on equal footing in terms of strength and power that they could order around to do their bidding and do their dirty work.
Clearly, that didn't work out the way they wanted. Shadow pretended to be obedient, following white, and the other diamond's orders. He shattered other gems for whatever reason the diamonds deemed fit (among other things I haven't decided on yet), only doing so to avoid the risk of being deemed defective and shattered himself, or the gem being shattered regardless by someone else.. he at least knew he could give them a swift end without pain.
Once Shadow gained the diamonds trust to wander around as he pleased, the moment no one was looking, he stole a ship and left Homeworld. Going as far as he could into the universe until he found Mobius and crash landed there. It wasn't very long before Sonic found him, and eventually became allies, inviting Shadow into the Crystal Gems, to which he accepted, and chose the name 'Shadow'. He didn't want to be called 'Red' or 'Red Diamond' anymore. He was free now. (This is as far as I got with him, sorry y'all HAHA)
Tumblr media
Sonic
Sonic is a yellow prism in the shape of an isotoxal star (the yellow is a nod to super Sonic). In my AU, because offical SU lore with gems is relatively limited, different colored gems even if of the same type, give different abilities/powers. In Sonic's case, yellow prisms give the ability of super speed, because of course, and he chose his name based on that fact as well.
Lore wise with Sonic-- He's the leader of the Crystal Gems (makes more sense considering the CG's signature symbol is a yellow star, so I just ran with that but changed the normal star to the isotoxal). But that's all I have for him.
the rest of these characters have 0 lore at all, i will just try to explain their gems a bit- sorry
Tumblr media
Amy
Amy is a Mimetite, a heart stone which helps with emotional stability, inner balance, serenity, joy, and adventure (according to google). Because Amy is basically canonically that 'therapy' friend, mimetite fits perfectly with her personality. As you can see, there are only a few designs that have weapons currently, Amy's being obvious because it's her signature weapon and just works here in the AU as well.
Tumblr media
Tails
Tails is a yellow peridot, it's obvious why, and I don't need to elaborate LOL. There isn't much different between peridot colors, it's more-so personality traits than abilities. Green peridots are quite egotistical and arrogant in themselves, while yellow peridots are more adventurous and selfless.
Tumblr media
Knuckles
Sorry for his naked hands btw. Honestly, I don't think I have to explain why Knuckles is a garnet. It just tracks. (Reminder that in the show, Garnet isn't a real garnet, it's just what she decided to call herself. In this case, Knuckles IS a real garnet.) Is his signature gem weapon gauntlets/gloves, yes. Did I steal the idea from Garnet? Shut up. :] Besides, Knuckles needed his usual gloves somehow, and he fights by punching shit anyway, so why not? Star on the back of the gloves ofc for obvious reasons.
Tumblr media
Rouge
GOD this stupid bat bitch, aaaanyway, ahem. In my AU beryls are information gatherers, either by stealing it or manipulating their way into obtaining it. Beryls are generally under diamond control and report back to their assigned diamond with information they demand for, obviously Rouge is part of the Crystal Gems, so she gathers information for them. And more often than not...is her usual self, and snoops around, digging up dirty secrets/information about her comrades and teases them to no end with it (Shadow being her favorite to torment for... reasons.)
Tumblr media
Silver
I chose Silver to be a sapphire simply because of the fact that in the Sonic universe, he can time travel. So instead of time travel in this Steven Universe AU, he gets future vision. I mean it works, right?
Tumblr media
Blaze
We can talk about her gem right.. right? It's really tasty and I want to eat it. So; opals are very, VERY rare (which fits with her whole being a princess thing or whatever). She was originally going to be a fire opal... that is until I found out about dragon's breath opals and changed my mind. Blaze is an absurdly rare gem, who knows, maybe even the only one of her cut. :]
Her gem gives her the ability to control fire as a weapon, and her unique cut gives her fire more power as well as makes the flames an unusual pinkish hue.
---
And that's everyone for now! I'm doing some little doodles that I might post a bit later on to compile together, but you can have the two I made of Shadow for now. eats him

See my full list of works here!
Summary: While doing some research to help out Mobius on a 'moonshot project', you and Loki come across a startling revelation about your lives. All your lives.
Pairing: TVA!Loki x TVA!Reader
Word Count: 3.5
Warnings: some talks of smutty times, but overall this is just fluff [let me know if i missed something!]
Things to be aware of: established relationship, talks of soulmates, references to my other stories
Tumblr media
"I really don't get why you're in here bugging me for something to do, Y/N," Agent Mobius chuckled, shaking his head as he thumbed through another folder's worth of records that he hadn't told you quite yet what they were for. "No high-level variant threats have been reported, timelines are--well, they're relatively stable. Things are quiet for a change. I say enjoy it while it lasts and go on a vacation or something with Laufeyson. Just don't--"
"Don't cause any Nexus events, yes yes, Mobius, we know." A smile broke out on your face at the sound of Loki's voice cutting off the TVA Agent, your cheeks nearly aching from your grin widening when he walked up behind you and long arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you close. "Thing is we already have partaken in quite a handful of adventures across the timelines, indulging ourselves in the…numerous pleasures and luxuries that they have to offer."
One look at how you were reddening with the implications of your boyfriend's words had your fellow Agent scrunching up his face in feigned appalment. "Time and place, you two, jeez."
You and Loki shared a confused look when an analyst from another table yelled "And you did it at my birthday dinner!" and rendered Mobius into a cackling heap, laughing into his sleeve to muffle the sound.
"Anyway…" you spoke up, making the grey-haired agent look back up at you. "Are you sure there isn't anything we can help with? Doesn't even have to be high-level, I'll literally take up a timeline reset caused by a woman at a grocery store grabbing a can of peaches instead of a can of mangoes, I'm getting antsy here."
"Alright alright fine," he sighed, motioning toward you and the god behind you. "It's something of a moonshot but we've been trying to find proof of the existence of soulmates throughout the timelines, so we need concrete cases that no matter the circumstance, no matter the obstructions between two souls, they always find each other and they always end up together."
"You mean like in that TV show where they've got fairytale characters in like Maine or something and there's this couple that constantly goes--"
"I'll find you, I will always find you," you and Mobius said at once, causing you both to break out into laughter.
"Exactly like that," he confirmed when he calmed down some. "Preferably without the cheesy catchphrase because in case you do find one I would actually prefer to not include in my report that all soulmates have some line they tell each other that's so cheesy it's pungent."
"Right so…soulmates, no cheesy lines, across the timelines. Got it." You gave him a little salute before you went off to the shelves, holding Loki's hand as he followed a few steps behind you.
Tumblr media
"Darling we have been scouring through files for hours. Perhaps it's time to report back to Mobius. Tell him that every pair we've found so far have broken the pattern at some iteration down the line. The most we've come across is a pair that were together for five iterations of their lives before the sixth showed they never even met in that lifetime."
Your shoulders slumped over when you placed your latest folder on your pile, of failed attempts, just about  half the size of Loki's own little mountain of case files. Maybe he was right; every possible lead you'd found all ended up a dud, and that alone would be proof enough that this was all a wild goose chase of an assignment for Mobius.
Then again, he did call it a moonshot, so the realization didn't smart too much.
The frustration you felt began to melt away the moment Loki's hands touched your shoulders, leaning into him when he started working at the knots that he found with expert precision. "Okay, you're right," you sighed. "Let's go tell Cubey his moonshot's a single needle in a city of haystacks."
He placed a kiss to the top of your head, using his seiðr to stack the case files into neat stacks arranged by file number. "Thank the Norns that ridiculous magic dampener fractured some when the timelines diverged," he mumbled, chuckling into your hair. "Now how about I bring us to a nice hot spring and we could simply…enjoy one another's company?" You let out a giggle when his hands traveled down your sides, lightly grasping your waist and pulling you against him.
If only you could have silenced the little voice in your head when you were just seconds away from him whisking you off to Jökulsárlón or Hakone, clad in a dark emerald bikini that your lover would peel off of you as he made good on his promise for you both to enjoy each other's company.
"I can nearly hear the thoughts forming in your mind, darling," he cooed, pressing his lips to the back of your neck, chuckling against your skin when you wordlessly confirmed what he'd said by slumping over again. "What is it?"
"Just one last try?" You wouldn't ever let yourself live it down if you'd gone down this road and not looked at this particular set of files.
He let out a sigh, his slightly cool breath tickling your skin before pressing a tender kiss to the back of your head. "One last attempt. And if we reach another dead end--"
"You can whisk me away to any destination of your choice and have your wicked way with me," you finished for him, letting out a little yelp when he brought his lips to the spot between your neck and shoulder, playfully nipping at the skin.
"What a deliciously reckless promise, my love," he teased, smirking against your neck when he proceeded to lightly suck at the sensitive skin and you had to bite your lip to muffle the whimper that slipped through your lips. "I look forward to collecting on it in a short while."
He rested his chin on your shoulder, still holding you close when you called out for a bit of assistance on your final hunch. "Minutes?"
Your eyes squinted to adjust to the sudden brightness when the orange hologram appeared on the desk in front of you. "Well hello there, lovebirds. What can I do for y'all?" she asked with a small wave of her cartoonish stick arm.
"Could you pull up our files?"
"Well sure I can, Y/N! How much of your files are we talking here?"
You shared a look with Loki before you answered, "All of them?"
"Before I hand 'em over, I think it's best y'all know from the get go that you're about to deal with thousands of files. It'll take a whole lotta time before you can sort 'em all out," she cautioned you both, already giving you a digital visual of how many files she'd already begun to pull up.
"Minutes, as I've come to understand it, we variants apparently have all the time in the world," you countered, shrugging your free shoulder and giving the living hologram a little smile. "We can take it."
"Alright well suit yourself," she comically shrugged both her hands before making the files that were already on the table disperse and go back to their original locations throughout the library shelves before stacks upon stacks of folders materialized in their place. All of them sectioned off into two sides. "Have at it, y'all."
You picked up the first folder from the stack closest to you, your brows knitting together already once you read the name on the file. "Minutes, I don't think this is mine, it says Eve but that's not--"
"Your name?" she finished for you. "Darlin', Y/N is your name in this lifetime--Well, the lifetime you came from before your Nexus event, you get what I mean. The file you're holding is from another lifetime, heck, might even be from another timeline. But one look at that file and you'll see that that's you. All of these are you. Doesn't matter if you're goin' by a different name, the soul remains the same."
The air left your lungs when you opened the folder to find a picture of you with pale skin and matted ivory hair on the front of the file. Only thing was that this version of you wasn't quite human in her lifetime. In fact centuries of it were spent as a vampire.
A few moments later she spoke up again. "Well then that's my cue. Happy sortin', y'all!" And then she disappeared. Leaving you and Loki alone with your couple thousand files each to rifle through.
Had you been there on a different objective, you would have spent a bit more time thumbing through the pages that detailed the life of this version of you, rubbing elbows with numerous prominent figures throughout history and having her fair share of trysts with a handful of them. But your only focus was her most prominent affair. Her great love.
When you reached that page, you felt yourself go breathless once again looking at the picture that stared back at you. "Loki," you breathed out, holding out the file to him so he could see for himself. The god's eyes widened at the photo in front of him. The ebony hair may be matted and the skin somehow even paler than his usual complexion, but there was no denying it. This Eve's companion throughout her years, this Adam, was another lifetime's iteration of Loki.
He began to rifle through his own stacks of folders, finding the one that had the same variant number and interlocked his and your folders together, starting a new stack at the center of the desk. "If you're right, and this yields the moonshot result that Mobius has been searching for, you can pick the destination and have your wicked way with me."
"Why Mischief, how reckless of you," you said coyly, batting your eyelashes at him. "What if I wanna tie you up?"
"It's endearing that you believe you could, my darling." He lightly poked your side, quickly pulling you into his arms the second you started wriggling and giggling in his direction. "But if that is truly what you want then I can promise not to break out for an hour."
"Two," you countered.
"Ninety minutes."
"Deal."
"Now if I'm right and this leads to another dead end, I whisk you away to any destination of my choosing for a fortnight, no tempads, no missions, and not a stitch of clothing on this glorious form of yours." His lips skimmed the side of your face, pressing a kiss to your cheek when you let out a squeal at his finger deftly undoing the top button of your shirt. "Do we have a deal, my love?"
"Okay okay," you relented, turning your head to steal a quick kiss before bring your attention back to the folders you were about to sort through. Before you could pull away, his free hand went up to the back of your head and deepened the kiss.
"What if I told you I've been plagued with visions of stripping you bare and laying you out on the desk before me? That I'd been thinking of enjoying every delectable inch of you as if you were my own personal dessert board?" You let out a gasp at the lustful image his words had conjured in your mind, allowing him to easily lick into your mouth and turn you into putty in his arms the moment your tongues met.
"I'd say I'm not surprised," you breathed out when he pulled away, placing your hand over his before he could undo a third button from your shirt. "But the faster we get this done, the faster oneof us will be at the other's mercy and maybe you can even bring that desk fantasy of yours to life." You pressed another quick peck to his lips before managing to wriggle your way out of his embrace, jutting your chin at his side of the desk. "Pick a file, Mischief."
The next file had you and him initially on opposite sides of the Battle of New York, your story starting in Stuttgart when he had clones force you down on your knees and the injuries from that encounter permanently damaging you. A handful of times throughout the day of the actual battle, he went out of his way to save your life, ensuring your safety from a fatal fall and even the Hulk; the document even had a mention of him asking Thor of what came of you after he was apprehended because you weren't among the Avengers that saw him off to Asgard, only to find out the true extent of your injuries. Then he found himself back on Earth to serve his sentence and falling in love with you, using his magic to undo the physical damage that he dealt you. And then you two went on your own adventure to have 'do-overs' in places that held bitter memories for him, from Stuttgart to Asgard and even the balcony in Stark Tower.
Another file saw Loki as an English baronet named Thomas Sharpe, and you as his final wife and a sort of partner in crime. Initially you teamed up to play a dangerous game of sneaking around his ancestral home to gather and send out evidence that would put his incestuous and murderous sister Lucille behind bars, and somewhere along the way you two had genuinely fallen in love with one another.
You then found a good handful of scenarios where you both lived in the Avengers Compound, having a bad case of mutual pining and both of you being too hesitant and overcome with doubt that neither of you made a move until the situation practically forced you to confess. One even involved you photographing him for an Avengers calendar where he stripped for you during his session.
"Yeah, this definitely sounds like you," you joked when you showed him one of the pictures from the photoshoot in question where he laid on his side on a white bed wearing nothing but a pair of white boxers. When you opened the next file, you let out a whiny groan out of sheer frustration and disappointment.
"Darling, that is a sound I only wish to hear when I elicit it from you. What's wrong?"
"Might as well just lie down on the table right now because there's no way this isn't a dead end." You waved the file in your hand in the air.
"Much as I would thoroughly enjoy claiming this particular prize, perhaps we need not be so hasty, my love. Tell me what would be such a hindrance that you'd be ready to give up your theory--"
"Place of Birth: Asgard," you read out, cutting him off. "Born to Lady Sif of the Warriors Four--"
"Alright well Sif would surely have some choice words with me if I courted you but--"
"And the Crown Prince Thor, God of Thunder." You gave him a look as if to say "This is why", the realization dawning on him as well that yes, this would be the dead end that would grant him his victory. And yet for some reason, you decided to keep on turning the pages. "Gotta be honest, though, I thought that what would break our streak is if we never met in these--Oh what in the Game of Thrones Targaryen nonsense is this??"
"What is it?"
"The streak isn't broken yet," you croaked out, the disbelief entering his eyes as he frantically started searching for his corresponding variant file. "We were married for two and a half thousand years."
"I surrendered my claim to the throne of Asgard for you," he declared in astonishment. "We have children in this timeline." His voice began to hitch at the end, making you immediately close the distance between you to lace your fingers together.
"Looks like even something as monumental as being your brother's daughter couldn't stop us," you noted with a little smile, breaking out into a full grin when your comment made Loki exhaled in a rather loud chuckle that traveled across the library. You took your two folders and interlocked them, adding to the pile in the center. "Let's keep going."
It was several hours later that you two had finally found your way back to the desk that Mobius occupied, the more tenured agent pinching the bridge of his nose and rubbing at the inner corners of his eyes in clear frustration.
"You still got nothing, Cubey?"
"One of these days I'm gonna find a name for you that's just as annoying, Y/L/N, just you wait," he groaned, his posture visibly slumping when he saw the interlocked stacks of folders that you were carting around. "What in the name of the Alioth is that?"
"We found one," you proudly stated. "Proof that soulmates exist and…only some of them have a catchphrase."
"That's just one?!" he boomed, immediately getting shh'd by a more elderly analyst a few tables behind him to which you and Loki shh'd her right back without missing a beat. You nodded your answer to Mobius. "So what's the catchphrase?"
"I was made to be yours," you began, letting go of the cart to hold your hand out to Loki.
"And I yours," he finished, lacing your fingers together before draping his arm over your shoulder and pulling you closer to him.
"Wait a damn minute," Mobius said suspiciously, pointing a finger between the two of you. "Are you two trying to tell me that the first and so far only case of soulmates we have on record is--"
"Us," you finished for him, nudging the cart in his direction with your foot. "Every single lifetime on every single timeline accounted for."
"What about your own?" he questioned. "You both mentioned that you'd never met your timeline's version of each other prior to your Nexus events."
"Well see that's the thing. These files only cover everything prior to a variant's Nexus event, or what the events were in their own respective sacred timelines. We met each other after our Nexus events. So maybe our souls never found each other in the lives that we left behind because…we were meant to find each other here."
"Huh…" he mused, looking carefully at the two of you. "Could be. Nice catch, you two. I knew I made a good call giving you a partner, Loki."
"My darling mortal is quite brilliant," your lover beamed, pressing a tender kiss to the top of your head. "I believe I owe you a debt of gratitude for our introduction."
"Well, you really don't have to but if you feel so compelled, I'm willing to take a jet ski and a vacation to Miami if you two can swing it."
"We'll call you if anything serious pops up, just keep your tempad charged," you shot back, extending your free hand toward him to shake. "But really, Cubey. Thank you. For introducing us. For vouching for me and making sure that I didn't get pruned during my trial with Rennslayer--"
"Otherwise you might have crossed paths with that one-handed variant in the Void and who knows what nefarious and depraved intentions he would have had with you," Loki interjected, resting his head on yours.
"You have a Captain Hook variant?"
"Nah it was a president," Mobius answered with a wave of his hand. "Got his hand bit off by an alligator."
"So…a Captain Hook variant."
"Yeah, you know what you're right. Loki has a Captain Hook variant. You'll meet him soon enough when you get sent on a mission to the Void. Loads of highly dangerous variants usually find themselves there when they try to escape processing."
"If he even dares touch you I'll divest him of his remaining hand," Loki grumbled, once again pressing his lips to your temple. "That heathen can find his own variant of you. You're mine."
"All yours," you beamed, bringing your joint hands to your lips to press a kiss to his knuckles. "And speaking of…we're off for a few weeks, Cubey. We have a date to get to."
"Please don't get arrested for indecent exposure. Or public fornication," the senior agent groaned. "That's a timeline I'll need therapy for if I have to be the sorry ass to reset it."
Neither of you responded other than a little wave and a thumbs up in his direction as you walked away, the god giving you a dimpled smirk as you two made your way to your shared apartment.
"Where shall we head to first, little mortal? A hot spring? Or perhaps a nice scenic tundra? Or perhaps a cherry blossom forest? I can already picture your beauty with the backdrop of the falling petals…"
He stopped listing options when he saw you shaking your head, mirroring his smirk with one of your own. "Bedroom first. And give me your tie. You owe me ninety minutes."

A/N: I'm so glad to finally get this out for y'all to see! This was originally supposed to up weeks ago for something but some of my own revelations were made (translation: I got bitch slapped in the face by reality) which led to the postponing of this story. Anyways, I hope y'all liked it even if it is kinda cringe and silly. I'm always gonna be cringe and silly, so manage expectations accordingly. 🥴🫡
Also if you got all the references within the files (except the OLLA one that's a freebie) I officially love you. 💖💛

Lokius. Follow up to Loki and Mobius kissing for the first time in the archives.
It took them ages to get to the elevator, and Mobius was surprised they didn’t bump into the disapproving archivist (as much as he had tried to charm her into a smile with his wit, it had never worked). That was definitely a good thing, because who knows if she would allow him back down if she had.
Pressing the call button, Mobius looked over at Loki bouncing on their feet and trying to keep their hands by their sides. They kept breaking into a wide smile, their eyes bright and shining. Mobius wanted to kiss them so bad, but this damned elevator was taking so long. He pressed the button again, knowing it made no difference but doing it all the same.
Eventually, it opened and they both rushed to get inside, grabbing onto one another and crashing into the wall. Mobius heard himself giggle and he would be mortified, but Loki’s lips were on his again and that thought melted away.
He hummed into the kiss, walking backwards along the wall and pulling Loki with him. Their hands were everywhere—in his hair, on his shoulders, around his waist. Each touch felt like he was on fire, and he wanted to burn with it.
The ding of the elevator pulled them apart. Mobius rushed to the other corner, eyes downcast. He gave a weak cough and tapped his shoe on the wall, then looked up to see an office worker—one of the report carriers—look between him and Loki with her eyebrows raised. Behind her, the door closed and then the machinery whirred again and she turned around away from the two of them.
Loki was biting their lip, clearly wanting to say something, almost bursting out of their skin with the laugh they were holding in. It erupted out of them not five seconds after the doors opened and the office worker stepped out, glancing briefly at each of them. Mobius rubbed at his face. This was going to be the talk of the TVA.
But as Loki stalked across the space and stood in front of him, eyes filled with longing and want, Mobius cupped their face and pulled them back into a deep kiss.
Somehow, they managed to leave when the elevator reached their floor.

Loki’s Birthday!
Tumblr media
You knew Loki wasn’t all too familiar with surprises and so you woke him up with a breakfast plate instead
“happy birthday to you! happy birthday to you!” you sung quietly, walking in with the tray
Loki slowly woke up and saw you and your cute face singing and carrying a tray of food
“good morning my love” he smiled looking at you and sitting up
You sat the plate of food on his lap and gave him a long kiss
“happy birthday my love”
“mhm thank you honey”
“so…what does the birthday boy want to do today?” you asked as you ran your hand up and down his chest
“just want to spend my day with you” he smiled
“we can do that, but remember we have your birthday dinner tonight” Loki groaned, remembering the event
“do we really have to go? I just want to stay here with you” He said as his hand grabbed your chin
“mhm yes my love we have too! your friends are all going to be there” You gave in and kissed him
“really?”
“yes love now go and eat the birthday breakfast i made you” you kissed him once more and went in for a shower
“thank you for cooking my love you know how much I love your food”
“always!” you shouted as you got in the shower
You and Loki got ready for the day since you had about 10 hours to kill before his birthday celebration
“so…what would you like to do today my love?” You asked, placing your arms around his neck
“hmmm you know what? i want to try something a little more…daring” He smiled
“Oh? Like what my dear? I assume this activity is one of Midgardian invention then”
“You could say that…Well Mobius recommended this excellent idea to me!”
“Oh don’t tell me its jet skiing? You know that’s his favourite activity to do.” You say, not really wanting to get wet today
“Oh not that my love…its another activity…just trust me ok?” He pleaded
“Ok ok! I trust you…anything you want today birthday boy”
You followed him…blindly…worse mistake of the day
“LOKI ARE YOU CRAZY?!”
“WHAT? CANT HEAR YOU LOVE” The wind thrashing against you both
“I SAID ARE YOU CRAZY?!”
“OH…YES! I THINK THIS WAS A GREAT BIRTHDAY IDEA”
“IM GOING TO KILL YOU”
“NO YOU WONT YOU LOVE ME!”
“LOKI I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU DROP ME IM GOING TO STAB YOU”
“JUST TRUST ME LOVE, MOBIUS SAID SKYDIVING WAS EASY!”
“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN TRUST MOBIUS?! LOKI IM GOING KI- AHHHHHH”
“WOOOOOO!!!”
Loki took you skydiving on Midgard and he had an absolute blast while you passed out from fear
Landing safely on the ground you looked furious at Loki
“Love, ok let me just say you said i can do anything for my birthday!”
“YES I DID…BUT I THOUGHT MAYBE YOU WANTED TO GO SHOPPING!? OR HAVE A PICNIC?! OR VISIT THE GARDENS! OR HELL…SEX! PASSIONATE, HOT, HEAVY AMAZING LOVE MAKING SEX BUT NOOOO SKYDIVING!”
“Hey! I still want the passionate, hot, heavy and amazing love making se-”
“NOPE”
“awh come on! did you not enjoy skydiving? its something off both our bucket list!”
“hmph”
“love…i know you know we weren’t in any actual danger, i have magic remember?”
”i know just scary….”
“love I would never hurt you…never”
You smiled “I know….it was just so sudden…” you sighed… “did you enjoy your activity for the day my love?”
“i did…and I especially liked it because you were with me” He smiled at you and gave a longing kiss
“I love you idiot” you say as you pulled apart
“Love you too my darling” Loki said back. He loved you so much and this day was one of his favourites
“Ok! So…your birthday dinner?”
“Yes! Hmm but how about scuba diving with sharks befo-”
“I don’t want to hear another word of it” You say sternly
“Just joking my love, lets go, I look forward to seeing my friends…and you can get mad at Mobius too”
You smiled “Ok ok I love you…Loki you mean everything to me”
He blushed “And you are the answer to my life my love…i love you.”

🫲 Hand on lower back for Lokius 😊
This one got sad. 🥲 I hope you like it?
5. 🫲 Hand on lower back
At first, Loki resented the way Mobius’ hand always seemed to find its way to his back. As if he needed to be ushered around like a child. Mobius kept a respectful barrier of air between them in the beginning, but Loki could still feel its presence.  In Alabama, as they stepped out into the full fury of the storm, the thunder and lightning overhead reminded Loki of Thor. He hesitated as the group headed inside and felt a light touch at his back. It didn’t feel as patronizing this time, especially when Loki met Mobius’ gaze and saw understanding there.  After Lamentis, there was no hand at the back to help him along. He was marched after Mobius, a Minuteman on each side, not even trusted to follow under the threat of the Time Collar being used. He hadn’t realized he could miss such a simple gesture until then.  Even after they reconciled, and then found each other in the Void, Loki had thought there would be no more touches to guide him. Their paths were diverging—catastrophically, it turned out, as he finally found Mobius within the TVA Archives and Mobius looked at him without recognition and said, “Who are you? What’s your name?” However temporary that had been, the fear that had filled him as he fled was nearly swallowed by despair. It had been one thing to imagine never seeing Mobius again. It was another to be faced with a reality where he might never expect any sort of kindness from the man he’d come to call his friend, a man who meant more than Loki could even acknowledge to himself.  Being ripped from that time had been a relief, but nothing could compare to how it felt when he was dumped into a reality where Mobius knew him and reached for him without hesitation. He guided Loki out of the chaos of the war room to a quiet spot where they could talk and Loki finally felt hope again.  He hadn’t known how right he would be about their paths diverging until he’d lived countless centuries attempting to fix the unfixable. To find a solution that did not exist. More than once, he slipped back to a moment where he could find solace in that reassuring touch, to lean into it a little more than he had any of first time he’d lived them.  As Loki turned away from the window where his friends waited, bathed in green light, and looked up into a destiny he could have never foreseen, he thought of a warm hand on his back. A steadying hand, one that gave him the strength to go on. He tightened his grasp on the timelines and took the first step.
Prompts are here. Other ficlets here.
If it makes anyone feel better, just imagine this is a predecessor to this fic.

Yandere Sonic
Yes, yes, this is a bit of a random drabble. Grammar might not be the best but, hey, you get something! I'll probably do some writing for this guy later on, we'll see!
Sonic
Ah yes, the name of the games, comics and films: Sonic. Honestly, good character. He's smart, fast, funny and replies with quick combacks when battling enemies or participating in playful banter. Sonic has a bit of an ego as well, flamboyant and loves to show off, making you wonder why you should even root for him in the first place.
That's where the writers get you with Sonic constantly being humbled and told to slow down. His need for speed and impatience are two of the biggest weaknesses he bears, hindering Sonic from being whole. However, he learns from his mistakes and keeps trying; Sonic does not give up. Sonic also hyperfixates on problems that bother him, probably digging far too deeply into an issue that might not need that much solving, thus creating further problems.
That's where I get the idea that he could be a yandere. I mean, (this was mentioned in another blog) how scary would it be if he was your stalker? Petrifying, I'll tell you that. Honestly, you could be minding your own business, going on a simple walk or maybe doing a favorite hobby, being followed by Sonic and when you turn your back, there's no trace of your stalker.
Here's what makes it even better, (or worse, depending upon how you feel) Sonic in my interpretation would absolutely focus on you. Sure, he'd still interact with other characters but, you are his top priority. He'd chose you over anything. Sonic's good at putting up an act, he can downplay any accusations with his good reputation and charm.
Gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss. Sonic doesn't give up, as mentioned before, he will find a way to make you his. He's saved so many Mobians and Mobius itself alike, gone on interdimensional missions, fought in space; the blue hedgehog is a traveling connoisseur. Each adventure he went on, Sonic made it out alive and better than before. He's had a lot of down points, I see this as a reoccurring issue he has to deal with, and still, he finds a way out of it.
Perhaps his constant down points give him paranoia? I'm thinking with the amount of things Sonic has endured he'd be worried about losing you. Maybe not to the point of isolating you from the entire world, (I think Sonic would still let you speak to your friends under watchful eyes and listening ears) but he would make sure that he's always around and ready to protect you.
Yeaaaaah, that's about it. Let me know what you guys think! I'll probably work on writing some random drabbles about other characters, fanfics, y'know, the usual.

💚!!
Thank you, @mirilyawrites, for the prompt! The idea came fully-formed in my head and I just ran with it haha. You can’t tell me that a Wanda variant won’t try to get to Loki one day. Anyway, True Love’s Kiss / Magic Kiss / Healed feels like it was made for Lokius. I don’t make the rules. (Also on AO3).
Yggdrasil was red. Poisonous red, infecting the branches of the multiverse. Every TemPad in the organization emitted a beeping alarm. Mobius spit out his hot cocoa, spraying the papers on his desk, and had to cover his eyes as the emergency lights flashed on the floor.
The multiverse is in danger, came Miss Minutes’ voice over the intercom. No evacuation is required at this time, but y’all please stay alert for forthcoming developments.
Heart pounding, Mobius pushed back his chair. His plans for the day had been to fill his gut with processed sugar, and [maybe] get ahead of the Kang investigation on Branch 5089, but now?
“Damnit, Loki, what did you do?” he muttered to himself, making a run for the elevator. He used his boot to hit the right floor. His TemPad went off with a message from B-15 telling him to meet her in the old Temporal Loom control room. Of course. That was where he was already heading.
When he arrived, he hadn’t expected to see anything different from the soulless expanse of space beyond the gangway. The dead end, he called it, because no amount of squinting nor O.B.’s drone probes revealed the path to the multiversal tree.
“Mobius, you’re here!” O.B. said when the doors opened to the control room. He was sweaty, sleeves rolled up, but smiling just the same. “Can’t do this without you!”
“Funny, ‘cause I’m only good for moral support these days,” Mobius grumbled, ready to berate himself for not being useful enough to help O.B. beyond handing him a fresh piece of chalk for his equations—when he realized the room was awash in red.
His breath left his lungs in a rush when he looked out the window. No longer was there just empty space. The gangway stretched outward, abruptly ending, but there was a rip in the Space Beyond Time. Through the rip he could see Yggdrasil glowing red. They could simply walk right into it without a fuss—a terrifying prospect, considering Loki himself never dared open the door to anyone, let alone his friends. This was not the god’s intention. Something was beyond wrong.
“Get me a suit,” Mobius barked, his cheeks flushed with adrenaline. He ripped off his tie, giving himself more air. “I’m going over there.”
“We don’t need suits anymore,” B-15 said, showing up in full Hunter armor, with new embellishments to mark her as the Leader of the TVA. She grimly fisted her pruning stick.
“She’s right,” O.B. said, looking up from one of the consoles. “Once we’re all here, let’s go. We don’t want to delay.”
“Who else are we expecting?” Mobius asked. He shifted his weight, eyeing the rip in case it decided to close up on them while they stood around talking.
B-15 only smiled. Grim, determined, but in control.
“We” turned out to include Casey, arriving out of breath with a pack of gadgets O.B. cooed over, probably asked for by the genius. D-90 showed up in his armor and bearing a set of handcuffs. A TimeDoor opened, smooth as silk, and Sylvie stepped through, wearing her usual houndstooth coat, knives twitching in her fingers.
“You owe me,” she mouthed at B-15, who huffed in response, and Mobius fought hard not to roll his eyes.
They gathered, eyeing each other as O.B. opened the blast doors. No temporal radiation. The air was cool. No breeze. A whole lot of nothing if you didn’t count the glowing red tree beyond the rip. The sound of their hurried steps across the gangway rang in Mobius’ ears. There was no gap between the end of the gangway and the stony, gold-fissured ground at the End of Time.
Sylvie went first, stepping over the glowing rip and planting her right foot on the stone. “Safe,” she said, stepping all the way in. They followed.
Mobius was sure Yggdrasil was a glorious sight when it was healthy. But red was never a favorite color of his, and it made his eyes water as he looked up and saw the branches twisting and stretching over his head. Whatever infected the branches hadn’t put Time at a standstill, but it was still wrong. “Loki’s lost control,” he said, offering Casey a hand as he crossed over.
“Seems like it. Loki’s magic is green,” O.B. said.
Mobius gasped. Right. Right. “That’s it, O.B.! This is someone else’s magic. And I know exactly who.”
Sylvie turned in a slow circle. “Share with the class?”
“The Scarlet Witch. Wanda Maximoff. She’s the only magic user I can think of who could go toe-to-toe with Loki. She’s bent reality to her will before. She’d do something like this to get what she wants.”
“What does she want?” B-15 asked.
“What else?” Mobius muttered. “Her boys.”
They made quick work heading for the center of the tree where the branches thickened and gathered together like a trunk. And just as Mobius suspected, they found the Scarlet Witch treating the branches like pull n’ peel Twizzlers, checking each one for the variables she wanted.
“Stop,” B-15 shouted, twisting the pruning stick on. “Put down the branches!”
The Scarlet Witch did no such thing. Her eyes were luminous, half-crazed with want, her mouth twitching like a tick. “Why won’t you leave me alone? I only want my family back. It’s just such a little thing. Who are you to come between a mother and her children?”
Mobius shoved his way to the front of their group. “Where’s Loki? What have you done with him?”
The witch released a toneless laugh. “He wouldn’t give them to me, so I pulled him off the chessboard.” She flicked her hand and the branches in the trunk parted.
Loki, God of Stories, sat on a throne in the center of the trunk. His arms were spread, fingers curled on nothing, because the branches he must have been holding prior to his confrontation with her had twisted around his wrists and forearms, binding him rather than the other way around. His horned crown hung crooked on his head. His skin, dyed red from the lights, looked sickly. His chest rose and fell, but he looked like he was sleeping. Not a peaceful sleep. His cheeks were hollow, his body slumped like melting wax on the throne.
“He is powerful, and he is clever,” The Scarlet Witch said with a curious little smirk, “but everyone has a weakness. I saw a pain like mine in him. He’ll never unbind himself from my spell.”
Mobius felt a fury like never before boil under his skin. “What. Did. You. Do?”
“It’s cute,” she said, peeling away another rejected branch. “He’s alone at the End of Time. No friends. No family. No one who would choose him first. Call me cliche, but I put him to sleep forever. Only true love’s kiss will wake him.”
“Fiction,” O.B. whispered, lowering the gadget Casey had handed him.
Mobius shuddered. This wasn’t science. This was magic, and the laws that the witch used to bind Loki had to be obeyed to free him. But how impossible was that? Did Loki have a true love, or was he as alone as he always thought? Mobius felt sick, seconds away from bending over to vomit his hot cocoa.
“We don’t have time to play your games, witch,” Sylvie said, putting her knives away only to summon green flares of magic at the tips of her fingers. “Back away from the tree. Slowly.”
The Scarlet Witch’s eyes glowed red. Her smile turned into a snarl.
Fear crawled up Mobius’ throat. All his research, those mindless hours spent in the Archive, came back to him in a flash. He remembered what she was capable of. He watched the footage of another variant of the Scarlet Witch mow down the Illuminati. He couldn’t handle seeing his friends die the same way. He wouldn’t let it happen.
“Wait,” Mobius said, stepping in front of Sylvie, his hand out, pleading. Reasoning. “Wanda, listen to me. We work for the TVA. The Time Variance Authority. We study time. We protect it. O.B. can run an analysis of the branches faster than you can search them. We can find a branch for you.”
Her eyes still glowing, fingers claws, she yelled, “The hell you can!”
“You’re looking for a branch with two orphaned boys, twin boys. Billy and Tommy. They need their mother. We can unite them with you,” Mobius said, breathing hard, hands shaking, though his voice was soft and calm as ever.
Something about Mobius knowing their names broke the Scarlet Witch. A cry burst from his lips. The red glow in her eyes gave way to tears.
“I understand you,” Mobius said, slowly approaching her, his eyes never leaving her face. “My boys were taken from me too. Sean and Kevin. Good boys, mischievous scamps. I’ll never see them again. Can’t even recall what it was like to be their dad. But you, you’re different. You could never forget. I want you to have them back. Can you trust me? Trust us? We’re not your enemies.”
Wanda took loud, gasping breaths. She collapsed to her knees. She looked up at him with her tear-streaked face. “Who are you?”
“Loki’s friends,” Mobius said with a soft laugh. “His family.”
Mobius wasn’t sure how much time passed, and how long it took for D-90 and B-15 to cuff Wanda and pull her to her feet. Mobius just remembered resting his hand on the small of Wanda’s back, whispering comforting words, sharing her pain, borrowing it to properly mourn the loss of his own boys in the moment.
“We’ll take her back, put in her in holding cell until we find her a new branch,” B-15 said, her grip firm on one of Wanda’s arms.
“You’ll see them real soon,” O.B. promised, bending down so he could look in Wanda’s eyes.
Wanda went quiet, pliant, as B-15 and D-90 walked her back through the rip and to the TVA.
“Tree’s still red,” O.B. said, standing next to Casey.
Sylvie scrunched her nose. “Loki hasn’t woken up either.”
He wouldn’t. Not with that damn magic kiss hanging over their heads. Mobius felt something hard and splintery grind together in his chest. “Looks like Sylvie’s up now,” he said flatly.
Sylvie startled. “Me? Why me?”
“You’re his girlfriend,” he said, stabbing himself with his own words, even as he flung them at Sylvie. This wasn’t something either of them had discussed, mainly because Sylvie kept to her chosen branch and wasn’t all that talkative when she got dragged into TVA emergencies. But he remembered how she and Loki’s hands linked in the fight against Dox, how easily they read each other with just a look across a room. There had even been a kiss at the End of Time, which thinking about always made Mobius’ gut squirmy. But this wasn’t about him. Waking Loki up was the goal, his own heart be damned.
“Eww!” Sylvie’s face screwed up like she’d sucked on a lemon and she dry-heaved. “I’m not his anything. Let’s be clear on that. I made the mistake once of kissing him and it won’t happen again.”
“Do you want him to stay sleeping forever?” Mobius yelled, losing his cool.
“Do you?” O.B. said, gently, breaking the tension.
Mobius narrowed his eyes, confused.
“It’s your turn, Mobius,” O.B. said. He made it sound like a fact.
Casey smiled behind his hand. Sylvie crossed her arms, waiting for Mobius to catch up.
Mobius stepped backwards. Threw up his hands. “I’m not… I can’t be.”
“Who else, if not you?” Sylvie said, impatient.
Who else? Mobius looked at his friends and found no escape. They all expected him to kiss Loki. A vicious ache he’d buried long ago came crawling to the surface. Kissing Loki. The big dream, the delusion he never acted on before. Even now, rescuing Loki with a kiss seemed like a role written for someone else. But he had to try. How he wanted to try.
With a sharp nod, Mobius turned on his heel and made his way up the jagged steps leading to the throne. His heartbeat drowned out his thoughts. He licked his lips nervously. It was second nature to cup Loki’s jaw with shaking fingers. The god’s skin was hot—not a good sign—and his breath stirred Mobius’ mustache as he leaned close.
Loki was hollow-cheeked, hot as a fever, limp as if someone had cut the strings above his head.
“Please,” Mobius whispered, squeezing his eyes shut in a prayer, and pressed his lips to Loki’s. The kiss was brief, polite. He drew back, only to find a pair of green eyes looking back at him.
Loki drank him in greedily. His voice cracked with disuse. “Mobius?”
“Hi,” Mobius said with a small, kinda insane laugh. He pressed his forehead against Loki’s.
“Hello,” the god said back.
Mobius shivered when Loki gripped his shoulders, fingers spreading and stroking him through the fabric of his jacket. But he was savoring Loki too, rubbing his thumb along the underside of the god’s jaw, brushing his ink-dark curls away from his sweaty face. “You were under a spell,” he said, forcing himself to explain, just in case—
“Ah, yes. True love’s kiss,” Loki said with tired amusement. “The witch told me all about it before she cast. Something about movies and fairy tales. I couldn’t follow. Midgardians.”
“You don’t look surprised,” Mobius swallowed, suddenly nervous, “that it was me.”
Loki dragged his hungry eyes over Mobius’ face. “It could only be you, love.”
Mobius whimpered. Love. He called him “love.”
One hand slipped through his silver hair and curled there, bringing their mouths closer. “You were kissing me,” Loki said, a gentle reminder.
The tree was still red. The god’s skin, feverish as a soup pot boiling. Mobius rested one knee on the edge of the throne for leverage and pulled their mouths together. The kiss was so sweet it gave Mobius a toothache.
But just as fast, it turned ravenous, pulling at each others’ hair and clothes, tongues searing as they met inside the god’s mouth. Loki’s skin slowly cooled under Mobius’ hands. The hollows filled. He came beautifully to life under him. Loki sobbed into his mouth, grabbed him harder. Mobius wasn’t about to let go.
Behind his eyelids, Mobius saw the red melt away to green.

what once was mine | ch 5
Loki x Reader
Series Summary: When watching what once was supposed to be the rest of his life, in an empty room in the TVA, Loki sees someone he can't recognize; a girl who's all tenderness and loose smiles, and most importantly, she was smiling at him.
A/N: Writing a lovesick Loki is my new favorite hobby.

Tumblr media
There was something about you. Still, he couldn't quite place what it was. But there was something. He's not sure if it's the way your eyes crinkle on the sides and you avoid your gaze when you smile or if it's the frown on your lips and the raised eyebrow look you usually give to him when he shows up at your desk.
Loki didn't know what it was about you, that got him in an absolute trance, and he felt the gravity around you pulling him in.
A sharp pain in the back of his head snapped him back to reality, a small grunt escaping his lips.
"I swear I'm regretting all my decisions right now," Mobius spoke from beside him, unrolling his jet ski magazine he had just smacked Loki with, "If I have to repeat everything I've just said just because you were too busy drooling over-"
"I was listening." Loki cut him off a little too urgently, finally moving his gaze away from where you had been talking with B-15 a few steps ahead of him. "And I wasn't drooling," he grumbled.
"Yeah, right," Mobius mumbled, leaning back on his chair as he followed Loki's gaze that had, unsurprisingly, returned to you. "Did you two get to talking already?"
Loki sighed, he watched as you propped yourself up on someone's desk, fiddling with the loose tie around your neck as you spoke with the hunter. "Not exactly," he frowned, "She still avoids me most of the time. She's difficult."
Mobius hummed in agreement, now mindlessly flipping through his magazine. "You're telling me."
Tapping against the arm of his chair, Loki craned his neck to look behind him where Mobius was sitting. "Are you two close?" He asked with genuine curiosity, "You seem close."
"She's a pain in my ass," Mobius threw the magazine aside and picked up a stack of documents, neatly placing them inside a folder. He briefly glanced at you, who now sat alone, swinging your feet back and forth as you watched people walk by, a small fond smile appeared on his features. "But she grows on you pretty fast," he spoke quieter, "I gotta give her that."
The ghost of a smile crept into Loki's lips too. He jumped slightly when the folder was unceremoniously dropped onto his lap.
"Now make yourself useful and take that to the library," Mobius raised an eyebrow at him, "Some of us actually have work to do."
─── ·❆· ───
Loki praised himself for being able to reach the library without getting lost. He read the date stamped on top of the file on his hands and browsed the shelves until he found said date, neatly stacking the file in between the others already there.
As he was about to walk out, he caught sight of the joyless woman who sat behind the desk in the corner; the permanent scowl still adorned her face as she typed away at her computer.
Loki took the sharp turn and came to stand before her. He waited a beat before pressing the bell atop her desk once.
The typing halted but only her eyes moved to look at him. "Yes?"
"I'm on the lookout for a few files, if you wouldn't mind assisting me." The smile on his lips was rather mischievous.
After about a minute of following the woman around the library, Loki was pleasantly surprised to be handed the file he had actually asked for.
"Happy reading," the woman mumbled, and left him be.
In between the cramped shelves, Loki turned the file in his hands, tracing his fingers under the name written on the first page. Your name.
He wondered for a moment if it would be inappropriate, an invasion of your privacy. Prying into your life as if it were a book for him to read. He tried to justify with the thought he'd only be reading the parts with him in it.
As he slowly made his way out of the halls of shelves, Loki took a brief look at the basic pieces of information on the cover of your file. Your picture at the front was… endearing—much as he wouldn't admit it out loud—you had your arms behind your back, your lips pulled into a line, and your eyes quite wide with apprehension, wearing the same TVA uniform that Loki got thrown into when he arrived. You were human and from Midgard, which already got Loki mildly confused as to why his future self would've gotten this close with a Midgardian of all people.
Loki rounded the corner of the last shelf with his eyes fixated on the file, and he nearly dropped it when something suddenly collided against him full force. Or rather, someone.
A small oof escaped your lips when you bumped face-first into him. You took a few steps back, blinking several times with a frown on your eyebrows.
Biting back a gasp of surprise, Loki quickly hid your file behind his back, mustering his most convincing innocent look.
Your eyes finally found him and you sighed quietly. "It's you."
A small, teasing grin stretched Loki's lips and he narrowed his eyes at you, "are you following me?"
You raised an unamused eyebrow at him, adjusting the lapel of your jacket and straightening your posture; "why would I follow you?"
"Because I'm terribly alluring." His voice took a slightly lower timbre, he leaned just a tad closer to you.
All you gave him was a roll of your eyes before circling past him so you could continue on your way. Loki turned with you, keeping his hands behind his back and away from your line of sight.
Much to your dismay, he fell into step with you.
"And now you're following me?" You asked, feigning uninterest as you made a point of avoiding his gaze, heading towards the elevator.
Loki hummed; "Not at all." He stayed just half a step behind you, trailing his eyes over the way your hair fell over your shoulder, just barely revealing the black earring you wore and making him wonder if it would feel as soft as it looked if he were to run his fingers through it. "We just happen to be going to the same place."
As you waited for the elevator to arrive, Loki managed to fold your file once and stash it inside the pocket of his jacket. You went in and Loki followed. The silence that lingered as the elevator slowly made its way up made Loki feel uneasy, he shifted in his stance and stole not-so-sneaky glances at you every few seconds. Has this elevator always been so slow?
"Would you like to stop for tea?" The words stumbled past Loki's lips on their own. "Or, coffee, whatever it is you drink." He felt the need to add, to feign nonchalance.
You kept quiet, but quiet was good, it wasn't a no. Loki realized, as he pretended not to be watching you, that what kept pulling him towards you wasn't curiosity anymore; at least not only curiosity. You were going to be his in the future, that much was clear, why or how he couldn't know, but his would-be future self had been lucky enough to be loved by you. And that was it, he realized. Loki never had anything to call his in his life, he never truly belonged. And when he first saw you on that screen, he just knew it had been his choice; he would have been lucky enough to find you and choose to call you his, to be yours.
Loki's breath hitched in his throat. That feeling in his chest, his heart knew where it belonged, who it belonged to; even before he did. And you were right there and Loki couldn't push away the thought that… he was yours, even if you weren't his. Not yet, and maybe not ever again.
You kept quiet. The elevator was nearing its stop when you hit the button that led to the cafeteria floor.
The place was emptier this time of day, almost peacefully so. There were only a few people here and there, sitting at the tables while enjoying a quick meal during their break.
You spared Loki a glance, "Go find us a table, yeah?"
Loki didn't object as you walked off to grab a drink. He picked a table in a far corner, away from any unwanted disturbances, and waited. This wasn't about drinking tea, not really; he didn't mind not having a drink.
You came back a few minutes later, holding two mugs; each steaming hot and with a bag of tea floating inside. You sat down in front of him and slid one of the mugs towards him.
Loki fought to keep his face impassive, to not make you uncomfortable by displaying how the gesture had touched him. He took the mug slowly, warm ceramic heating up his cold hands. When he took the first sip, his eyes briefly closed in delight, surprised that you knew exactly how he took his tea. But he shouldn't be.
When he opened his eyes again, he noticed your gaze was, for the first time today, fixed on him. Your lips were slightly parted and your hands hung loosely around your mug on the table. It was almost as if you were gauging his reaction, hanging onto every twitch of his muscles. To prove a fact or dismantle a lie.
"It's… lovely, thank you," Loki spoke softly.
You gulped at his words, then cleared your throat and took a generous sip of your own tea, that most likely burned its way down your throat given the way your eyes watered. "Yeah, sure."
Loki softly tapped his mug as it rested on the table, he glanced up at you, his eyes betraying him with the softness he tried to hide. "You know, I'm truly quite impressed."
He captured your attention, and you turned to him with slightly raised eyebrows.
"I wasn't expecting them to have such good tea around," Loki raised his mug to prove his point, "for a place that, literally, has access to all of time, their food options are rather limited." He complained with an indignant frown.
There was a smirk fighting its way into your lips that you gently ducked your head to hide. "I have to agree, sometimes I just wanna slip into the timeline to grab a milkshake or a smoothie."
Loki struggled to keep his voice working when he saw the hints of a smile on your face, but that's also the reason why he kept talking. "Right? And then there's the neverending paperwork. I mean, honestly, for a place like this they sure are so old-timey, aren't they?"
You laughed. Genuinely laughed, and Loki delighted in it. He wanted to bottle up the sound and keep it with him forever. His lips hovered in a dazed smile of his own, and he simply looked at you—all doe eyes and pink cheeks—engraving the image in his mind with the pride that he was the one who made you happy, if even for a second.
Shaking your head, you avoided his eyes. Biting your lower lip before you said; "Oh yes, that's one of my biggest critiques yet."
A quiet chuckle escaped Loki's lips, and he made it his mission to keep the conversation going for as long as you'd have him.
When you drank the last sip of your tea, which was most likely already cold given the time that had passed since you first got it, you looked at Loki with the ghosts of that smile still lingering—a little crooked and still a little hesitant, but beautiful to his eyes nonetheless.
"I have to go," you said, voice quieter, as if you spoke louder it would break the moment. Your eyes glimmered under the artificial lights, for a beat it looked like you wanted to say more but you bit it back. "But thank you for the company."
Loki nodded softly, "It was my pleasure." He hoped you could see it in his eyes that he meant it.
Loki watched you leave. He watched as you walked into the elevator and held his gaze from afar until the doors closed. The feeling hit him hard and square in the chest, making him close his eyes and exhale a shaky breath—he was falling for you, and it killed him to think that he might be falling alone.
He took the file still hidden in his jacket pocket, unfolding it only to see the picture of you staring back at him. He looked at it for a long time, yet never opened it. He wanted to do right by you. If he were to know you, know the story you would've had together, it would be because you choose to let him.
Later that day, Loki stopped by the library again. He took a single last glance at the cover of your file before stashing it back on the shelf.

I am really getting annoyed with people said "loki is just narcissistic person, strange is just arrogant doctor, Wanda is just selfish crazy", okey they are lie that more than that but somehow everyone forgetting that they have trauma and pain(not justify bad actions but still) and they keep insist that they need getting more punishment.
Then we have stark, yeah we know him and if someone say he is just arrogant selfish billionaire other standard will say he ore than that and they said stark didn't deserve punishment what he did , really?
I am have to say I have one fanfic not Wanda friendly but I take theme in MOM because how I hate Wanda in MOM (thanks Waldron make me hate Wanda) from all her on screen MOM is in my hate list.
Also you can see how many Wanda, loki and strange got punishment in fanfic rather than stark, they justify his actions.
They never cared to humanize Stark's victims. We just had that woman in CW who was written horribly and to make matters worse, Stark was framed sympathetically in that scene. Go figure! And of course that scene is followed by him claiming the entire team has to be """held accountable""" (not just him, the team) and when some of them push back he's shown to be the rational one. What a joke.
With that kind of absolute narrative protection, is it any wonder so many people claim he feeling bad for 0.2 seconds is enough?
Whereas with Wanda we know the names of the people she hurt, we heard them speak and explain how much pain they were in. (I always laugh every time I see someone claim WandaVision was on Wanda's side.. lol no).
In Loki's case, his whole past and characterization were retconned and simplified by Waldron and Feige, and those around him were framed in a positive light while he was shown as an evil character who will always have to be paying for his mistakes. Odin, Thor, Sylvie, Mobius... none of them are held accountable so the difference in framing is even clearer.
And with Stephen, he's so unlucky that he got his own movie taken from him and once again his story was simplified for some reason I do not understand. His pain, sacrifices, his story are an afterthought in MoM and ironically enough, he was written miles better in NWH than in his own film. And of course, we got other characters telling him he's evil, he's selfish, he's a villain, bla bla.
In short: he's defined (negatively) by others. Just like Loki. Ever see them defining or defending themselves? Nah. If they defend themselves they're "arrogant" and "narcissistic" 🙄
So I'm not surprised those three are treated like crap by the fandom while Stark is praised to the heavens and back.
Stephen, Wanda and Loki are not perfect. But the thing is... they don't need to be. In fact, they shouldn't be. That's what makes them so interesting, it's what sets them apart from the clear-cut heroes. What we should be getting about them is the why they're not perfect + the circumstances behind their actions and beliefs, those are crucial when it comes to morally grey characters. Otherwise we just end up with "they did x so they're y" bullshit writing.

Seven Sentence Sunday
Tagged by @loki-is-my-kink-awakening and @in-my-loki-feels. Thanks! 💚🧡 Here's a part of my next fluff prompt: neighbor / desire / horse
Careful not to wake him, Loki reached out to gently trace the shapes of Mobius' face and body with the tips of his fingers. Morning stubble prickled against his touch as Loki trailed up to his face. His eyes followed close behind, greedily drinking in the alluring angle of Mobius' jawline. It was relaxed at the moment, but when he was awake and clenched his jaw… Biting his lip, Loki felt arousal beginning to stir low in his gut. His fingers curled around the corner of his jaw, letting it rest in his palm. A sleepy hum escaped Mobius' throat as he subconsciously shifted closer.
Getting jealous while writing this lol 😅

Hello !!! I saw your recent post about Elysia and mobius jealous HC can you do one for Kevin and Su ?
Absolutely!!! ^^
Tumblr media
KEVIN doesn’t like others messing with you, and given his position, it would be foolish for anyone to try anything. It’s no secret that he’s incredibly strong, and most Kaslanas share one trait — They are incredibly passionate and fiercely protect those they love.
KEVIN adores you, so really, it’s no surprise he gets jealous. After enduring one heart break, he will do anything, as to not feel that way again. He never expected to fall in love again, and you, you were a treasure.
KEVIN welcomes anyone to try anything with you, but oh— They should be aware of what exactly they’re starting. Ah. Well, some individuals just couldn’t help themselves, it seemed. He couldn’t blame them, you were wonderful, after all. You were also his treasure, his dearest, and they—
“Step away from them. Now.” Kevin bit out, his tone pure authority. The person who’d been flirting with you paled, recognising the threat.
You sighed, your lips quirking upwards into a small smile. “Kevin,” You greeted, your tone soft.
Kevin grabbed your hand, squeezing it tightly.
“Are you okay, [F/N]? They didn’t disturb you too long before I arrived, did they?”
You shook your head, a small laugh escaping your lips. “No, they did not. It’s not often something like that happens, anyways. What— With my White Knight always swooping in.”
Kevin looked pleased at that, his lips upturned in a smug grin, and he pressed his lips to the back of your hand.
“Hmm. Good. I’d hate for someone to mess with my most treasured person. Then, perhaps, the knight would have to do something not so chivalrous…”
Kevin spoke, pale blue eyes narrowed and glinting dangerously. You sucked in a breath at his expression, titling your head to the side slightly.
It was easy to forget, with how kindly he treated you, but Kevin was perhaps one of the most dangerous people alive—
Still, you loved him.
He loved you, as well—
That was all that really mattered.
“Well, Dear Knight. Would you be so kind as to join me?” You spoke, your tone hushed, and Kevin wrapped his arms around your center.
He buried his face into the crook of your neck, his breath warm against your skin.
“Always, [F/N]. I would follow you anywhere.”
Tumblr media
SU isn’t necessarily a jealous individual. He’s never been quick to anger and very rarely did he ever lose his cool— It took quite a bit to make him even the slightest bit irritable, and that was what made him so good at what he did— He was a helper, a healer, and he for once, was mad.
You’d gotten under his skin in ways that he didn’t understand, and then, he did understand. He’d fallen in love with you, and you— You, amazing as you were, reciprocated those feelings. He’d been so maddeningly happy that he felt as though he’d burst—
SU made a living of helping others ease their discomfort, but something about seeing you uncomfortable rubbed him in the worst possible way— Especially, as it seemed to be caused by another person, of all things!!
“[F/N]…? Are you well, Dove?”
Su asked, his tone soft and light, and his gaze was kind as it fell on you. Had it not been for the slight curl to his lips, as he glanced at the person who was flirting with you, you’d have never suspected he was upset—
You, however, knew Su well enough to read his expressions. You offered him a small smile, your gaze trailing to the person that kept bothering you. Su caught on quickly, wrapping an arm around your shoulder, and offering the person a smile.
“Sorry, you see, [F/N] was waiting for me. If you didn’t believe them, well, here I am. Proof in the flesh. This won’t happen again, I hope?”
The person stared between the two of you with wide eyes, their mouth opening and closing, before they rushed away.
You laughed, leaning against Su’s form, a cheerful smile on your face.
“You’re so kind, Su. It throws people off.”
Su smiled at your statement, giving you a teasing smile. “You know what they say, ‘Kill them with kindness.’ It’s quite an effective method, I’ve found.”
You chuckled, pressing your lips to his cheek, before pulling away with a bright smile.
“Thank you, Su.”
Su hummed, entwining his hand in yours, and pulling you a bit closer to him.
“Ah, I believe you missed…? I was thinking a little more lipwards in direction?”
He murmured, his tone teasing, and you snorted.
You pressed your lips to Su’s, and for a moment, all was right in the world.

as the TVA slowly came to its downfall, loki, mobius and their friends all found there was possibly no other way to do things.
loki has manipulated his powers of skipping through time over, and over and over and every single time they went just how they did the first. loki was failing to believe there was hope in anything that existed.
while he sat with his hands on his head and his elbows sitting up on the desk in front of him he stressed and turned and pulled his mind to try his hardest to think of things while he still had plenty of time to save everyone.
mobius happened to walk in as he saw loki with nothing but the look of stress and couldn’t help but try and interfere.
‘so…what’s going on? why the long face’ he mumbled while pulling out the chair to sit next to loki who looked over at him with a small smile.
‘nothing…just trying to somehow understand…make sense of this all? understand what to do and how to change it’ he admitted. placing his hands down onto the desk as mobuis watched him.
‘well…sometimes things can’t be changed? sometimes things don’t have a answer and are better left without one…’ mobius told him while he always seemed like he tried to convince himself of his words.
‘no but…there’s always a way. there always is, i know it—‘
‘why do you believe that so strongly?’
‘because she told me so—‘ loki stressed, his forehead forming their lines of stress.
‘who?’
‘y/—‘ just as he said her name and thought of her face he cousins help but think of other things. was is possible that she was somehow still alive? on another timeline?
‘mobuis!’ loki hurried to turn to him, who gave a wide-eyed expression.
‘yes?’
‘i have to see her…she can help me—she will understand!’ loki hurried to stand up, taking out his tempad and switching though different timelines.
‘whoa—loki, you can’t just—‘
‘i’ll be back! i promise i just—i really need to see her, okay? i really need to’ loki silently begged mobuis who was slowly trying to believe and accept his decision. once he came with a conclusion he nodded with a sigh.
‘go ahead…and be right back!’
‘i will!’ loki yelled before looking up to see the yellow door.
once he walked through, Mobius stood by and waited.
‘i will!’ loki yelled before looking up to see the yellow door.
once he walked through, Mobius stood by and waited.
ㆍ୨୧ㆍ
just behind that yellow door in a wooden home with the beautiful view of trees, tall grass and even some horses. loki looked around a bit shocked to say the least, the y/n he knew from universes ago said she’d quote—
‘never live on a countryside cabin because it reminds me of the scary movie of cabin in the woods where everyone dies’
loki thought it was a bit funny but he didn’t beg her to move out of the city.
hesitantly loki shifted his clothes into something more simple and cleared his throat before combing his fingers through his hair.
walking up onto the wooden porch that was very spacious, it held two wooden rocking chairs and a small table in the middle of it with a cup of tea that looked to be recently drunk out of.
looking at the screen door that was followed with another door on the other said he opened the screen door and knocked on it.
heavily breathing with nothing but nervousness he cleared his throat again and waiting. he even heard a dog bark as he waited for the door to open. and oh boy—once it did.
another you came from behind the screen door with pajama pants on and a cropped shirt that looked a bit tight, as he looked down your figure he noticed a very prominent swollen belly.
you were pregnant?
‘loki? what are you doing here? I thought you just left?’ you wondered as you opened the door for him with a warm smile on your face.
he didn’t know what to say, he hasn’t talked to you since you left the avengers due to personal reasons. loki had knew where you were but didn’t want to bother you.
‘yes, i…well, i just thought i wanted to talk to you more’ he smiled down at you as you smiled and softly laughed with a shake of your head.
‘your so sweet, but we’ve talked all day—‘
‘i want to talk more’ he shrugged while you just laughed it off.
‘okay well; i was about to make dinner and your favorite dessert with some ice cream and (f/s) for the baby because she is every spoiled even before being born can your believe it?’ you laughed as you walked to the kitchen.
your little walk made him smile a bit at the fact the other you said you’d never get pregnant in a million years because life are little demons.
‘well, we need to give her any and everything she wants to stay happy, including you of course—‘
‘including me! that’s so sweet’ you teased once more with a tilt of your head and a smile.
he let the room fall silent for a bit before he remembered what was going on in the other world. sighing as he sat down in a chair you had noticed his face fall from his smile. frowning your eyebrows you walked over to him with bread in your hand as you ate it.
‘what’s wrong?’ you asked him while placing your hand down onto his face, soothingly moving your thumb under his eye.
he felt himself crumble, immediately. moving his head forward to press onto the side of your body he held his face there and let his arms hug your waist. you had felt his shoulder shake a bit which you immediately stuffed the rest of your bread into your mouth and sat onto his lap to completely wrap your arms around his shoulder.
‘oh, oh no—what’s wrong?’ you concerningly asked while hugging him as tight at you could without your stomach becoming smashed into him.
‘i don’t know? it’s just…i can’t think straight anymore like i used to and i don’t know what to do. the life i want seems to not want me and i can’t understand what i need to do’ he sighed while laying into you completely.
frowning your eyebrows and letting your eyes show sadness you shook your head a bit, forcing his head up gently.
‘you do know what to do loki. you know exactly what to do. how do i know? because i know you. i know that you always figure a way out and through, you always know what needs to be done and you know what is in store for you. your life is yours to shape, fate isn’t real, not with you around’ you smiled sadly as he let a tear drop.
leaning forward with nothing to say he let his lips smash against yours with nothing but love and passion. you were quick to reciprocate as you held the back of his head. letting your hand play through his hair.
he let himself fall into your neck as he inhaled your scent and hugged you tighter once more. giving him a kiss on the head as he closed his eyes, loki felt himself in complete comfort and control of his mind once more.
he didn’t want to leave. he never wanted to leave. maybe he could just send the loki you know and married into the portal and keep him there. letting the idea cross his mind he sighed and knew it was probably time to go since mobius was waiting with a open portal door in your yard.
sighing before he stood up he held your hand in his—‘i have to go back to where i said i was going…i’ve got to get that stuff we need—‘
‘ugh yes! before you do please please please! get the pickles with the cheese and hot sauce? i’ve been craving it since last night!’ you whined while holding your chin against his chest and looking up at him. he laughed and nodded while leaving down to hold your face between his hands and kissing your lips passionately once more.
you gave a smile before he walked out the door.
‘bye! come back as soon as you can okay? i need that food and a back massage’ you teased but with seriousness before winking as he nodded and let you shut the door.
when you did he sighed and closed his eyes to process what happened and how you’ve had a baby on the way. realistically speaking, the baby was his as well, so he thought of ways to come back and see the baby.
before he left of course he made the pickles, cheese and hot sauce appear on the pouch near the door for the other loki who may not have gotten the food you wanted.
walking to the portal, loki saw mobius who grinned.
‘get what you needed?’
‘of course, and i knew what we need to do, let’s go’

WIP Wednesday (sorta)
No WIPs on the horizon for me but I’ve been tagged in an assortment of writing posts (thank you all 🥰❤️❤️) so thought I’d use the opportunity to share a (very angsty) scene from my cutting room floor that I like but never quite went anywhere.
O.B. and Casey ask Mobius for his opinion on a new statue dedicated to Loki at the TVA, angst ensues.
***
Mobius blinks, pulled from his memories by the sound of chairs scraping against the linoleum floor. The meeting is over. His coworkers gather their things and meander out of the conference room—laughing, gossiping, planning follow-up meetings—but Mobius stays seated and stares at his notepad. It's empty. He slumps, running a weary hand through his hair. He hadn’t paid any attention to Judge Gamble’s briefing on this cycle’s latest threats to the multiverse. Again.
He’ll need to get the notes from Bea. Mobius gets up, trying to ignore the churning in his stomach as he searches for Bea amongst the crowd. There’s no way she hasn’t noticed Mobius slipping—the way he’s constantly asking for her notes, the decreasing numbers of files he’s completing, how patterns that used to seem so obvious elude him lately. She’s looked the other way thus far but eventually she’ll need to take disciplinary action, whatever that means in their new TVA. Mobius can handle it and honestly, she’s already given him more leeway than she should as their new Director.
It doesn’t take long for him to find her. Bea’s standing at the end of the hallway, embroiled in what appears to be a hushed argument with Casey and O.B. Despite the anxiety pounding through his system, Mobius’ curiosity spikes.
“Hey guys.”
Bea jumps slightly at his approach—odd—and turns around with a forced smile. “Oh, hey Mobius,”
“What’s going on?”
“Nothing,” she answers too quickly. She shifts when O.B. tries to get around her, file in hand. It's a futile attempt to hide the technician from Mobius’ view.
“Right,” Mobius chuckles, stepping around Bea to take the file from O.B.’s outstretched hands. He might be losing his edge but he’s not useless yet. He can detect a lie when he sees one. “You know, Bea, I might have believed you if not for…”
The words die in Mobius’ throat as soon as he opens the file.
They’re plans. Plans for a new statue in the atrium; a statue dedicated to the person who made everything they do now possible, the holder of all the timelines, their savior, the person whose absence is felt like a dagger to Mobius’ chest with every heartbeat.
He looks gorgeous, just like always. Whoever designed the statue did a great job. They almost captured Loki’s likeness. His hair curls loosely about his shoulders, his jaw set and determined, his expression regal—though his eyes are missing that familiar, mischievous twinkle. He’s dressed in emerald robes and wearing those magnificent horns Mobius had last seen him in. In all his years studying Loki variants, Mobius had never seen a Loki with a larger set. They’re a testament to the power he wielded that day. After centuries, it seemed Loki finally found his glorious purpose. Mobius wishes the sight filled him with pride. Instead, he’s taken straight back to his nightmares.
“We wanted to honor him,” Casey begins in a soft voice, “but we weren’t sure if it’s what he would want so we thought we’d ask…” Casey trails off.
They thought they’d ask the Loki expert, Mobius finishes, gulping past the lump forming in his throat. Smart plan. If anyone knew how Loki would want to be remembered, it would be Mobius. Except…
He doesn’t know.
The thought strikes Mobius with harrowing realization. In another time, this statue would be exactly what Loki would want. Mobius’ mouth quirks up into a smile as he recalls the statue Loki had arranged for himself on the Sacred Timeline following his fake death on Svartalfheim. It had been a grandiose, expensive thing. Another prank pulled by the God of Mischief.
Mobius’ smile is gone as soon as it appears because that Loki isn’t his Loki. This time, it isn’t a trick. It isn’t part of some grand plan. Or, at least, not one that Mobius can understand.
He has so many questions about that day. How long had Loki been timeslipping? How many other options had he tried before he settled on that final decision? What led him there? Had he spoken with someone beforehand; had they led Loki to this conclusion?
Mobius shuts his eyes in an effort to clear the now familiar tears building behind them. Why hadn’t Loki talked to him? What hadn’t he asked for help? Mobius is sure he could have convinced Loki to try something else. They could have figured out a solution if only they’d worked together. Why did Loki think this was the only option? Why did this sacrifice fall to him and him alone? Why didn’t he say goodbye? Why? Why? Why? Why? The questions circle around and around in Mobius’ head. Forever unanswered.
“Mobius?” O.B. prompts. “Do you know if Loki would be okay with this? We don’t want to move forward until we know.”
Mobius opens his mouth in an attempt to answer but nothing comes out. He doesn’t know.
He doesn’t know if this is what Loki would want because that Loki, the Loki who sacrificed himself for all of them, is a stranger to Mobius. That Loki had spent who knows how long traveling through time, attempting to find a solution, alone. There are no reels for what happens within the TVA, no reels for Mobius to analyze.
Sometimes, when he dreams, Mobius swears he can remember moments with Loki that never happened. Arguments, laughter, philosophical conversations over pie, even… There’s one night in particular Mobius returns to often in his dreams. He flushes at the memory before shaking it away. It all feels so real when he’s asleep but when he’s awake his memories jumble together until he can’t determine what happened and what didn’t. It makes him feel untethered, these half-forgotten memories, these dreams, these fantasies. Mobius settles on that last word: fantasies. That's all they are. Something his mind has manufactured in a desperate attempt to make sense of what Loki did.
“Mobius?” O. B. tries again. “Is this what Loki would want?”
Would want. Past tense. Because Loki isn’t coming back. Not this time. Mobius takes a breath but it doesn't reach his lungs.
“I—” he stutters. The papers shake in his hands, that image of Loki holding the timelines grows larger on the page until it consumes the world around him and Mobius feels himself slipping back into his memories. “Um, I don’t…”
Suddenly, it’s too bright and the ringing in his ears has returned. It’s the alarm from the observation deck blaring a warning that they’re running out of time until the loom breaks. Mobius’ wipes sweat from his brow. It’s excruciatingly hot; he wonders if he should be worried about the temporal radiation leaking through the glass window before him but he can’t focus on anything except Loki. Loki walking out onto the gangway. Loki raising his arms to break the loom. Loki grabbing hold of the timelines and breathing life into them with that brilliant, beautiful green magic of his. Loki turning back, one last time, to give him a smile before he-
“Mobius?” Bea puts a grounding hand on Mobius’ arm and Mobius forces himself to the present. He can’t allow himself to be overtaken by that particular memory again. He can’t.
“I’m fine,” Mobius says after a moment. “Just a headache. Really,” he adds at Bea’s unconvinced stare before turning to O.B. and Casey. “To answer your question, O.B., I don’t know. I don’t know what Lo-“ Mobius’ voice catches on the name. “I don’t know what he’d want. Not anymore. Maybe he’d like a statue. Maybe not. I just… I don’t…”
“It’s okay,” Bea cuts in, giving his arm a reassuring squeeze. “We’ll put the plans on hold and revisit them later.” Her last words are unmistakably a stern warning to O.B. and Casey to drop the subject.
“But-” O.B. starts.
“We get it,” Casey nods. “We’ll come back later. Feel better, Mobius.”
With a pitying glance that Mobius begrudges but can’t say he doesn’t deserve, Casey takes the file from his hands and guides O.B. back down the hallway, leaving Bea and Mobius alone.
Mobius half expects Bea to follow, he can’t imagine her to do list, but she doesn’t. He can feel her eyes boring down at him while he scuffs at the TVA emblem on the floor below. For all time. Always. Mobius snorts. Yeah, right.
He knows what he has to do. He can’t be here anymore. The memories are too loud, too painful. And more importantly, the new TVA deserves better than an old, washed-up analyst broken beyond repair.
Mobius takes a shuddering breath. “Look, Bea, I’ve been thinking…”
“Can we get some lunch,” Bea interrupts.
Mobius meets her gaze confused. He knows they need to have this conversation. He knows that she knows that they need to have this conversation and yet…
Neither of them are ready. He can see it in her eyes. Somehow she knows what he’s about to say and she doesn’t want to have this conversation any more than he does.
“I’ve been implementing some changes,” Bea starts. “Trying to get something better than wilted salad and stale pizza in the cafeteria,” she adds with an awkward laugh. Then, she pauses, uncharacteristically hesitant “I’d love to get your thoughts if you’ve got time. If anyone knows how to make this place better, it’s you and …I could really use your help, Mobius.”
Mobius sighs. It’s an easily delegatable task, a distraction technique. Bea doesn’t need his help picking the food in the cafeteria. But—Mobius meets Bea’s gaze—she’s scared. There’s no script for them now; the future is unknown. There’s no guarantee that anything they do will make a difference or if it’s even the right thing to do. Amidst all the changes, she needs the reassurance. And in a way Mobius does too. The TVA might be haunted for him now but it’s the only home he can remember. He doesn’t know where to begin out on the Timelines. He isn’t sure if he’s ready to leave. Yet.
“Sure,” Mobius says. “Let’s grab some lunch and we can talk through your plans for the place. I’m sure they’re great.”
Bea smiles in relief and they make their way to the cafeteria. Mobius half-listens as she chatters away, outlining her plans to improve life at the TVA. He won’t be here to see them through. It’s only a matter of time before he leaves but that conversation can wait a little longer.
***
The finale was sad but lemme tell you the tears didn’t come for me until that conversation with B-15 and Mobius. 😭💔
Anyway, sorry to leave it here with hurt/no comfort but if you need some comfort, recommend Tell Me Some Things Last - a lovely story by @loki-is-my-kink-awakening about Sylvie & Mobius healing that I’ve fully adopted into my own headcanon. Also shamelessly plugging my own Lokius S2 reunion fic (which is where this scene was going to drive towards eventually anyway).
No pressure tagging my fellow creatives back for a “last line” “seven sentence Sunday” or “WIP Wednesday” whatever floats your boat. I want to hear what you’re working on and absolutely love reading your writing updates as they come in!
Happy writing! 💖
