"Against my better judgement, I'm alive,” Lewis groaned into the phone.

Rikki snorted. “Don’t be such a wimp.”

“Excuse me?” he scoffed. “You may not remember last night, but I do! I’ve got bruises!”

“Bruises?” Rikki asked, voice softening. “From what?”

“What do you think? From a moonstruck mermaid using her wind powers to pick me up and throw me!” he huffed.

“Cleo? Do you know where she is?” Her voice spiked. “Em and I just woke up and she’s not—”

“She’s with me,” Lewis was quick to reassure. His parents were out of town, and he couldn’t take her home to her dad, and Emma and Rikki were AWOL, so his place seemed like the best option. “She’s still asleep.” He didn’t add that she was in his bed next to him, curled into his side. That was just for him.

“I’m glad she’s safe,” Rikki sighed with relief. “Thank you. And sorry about whatever we did last night.”

“You’re welcome.” Lewis shifted carefully to sit up without waking Cleo. “It’s been a while since you guys were this bad on a full moon. What do you think caused it?”

“I don’t know, but I’m sure you’ll come up with something to do with planetary alignments or some other nerd crap,” Rikki snarked.

“Aw,” he retorted. “You do listen to me.”

He could almost hear her rolling her eyes. “Goodbye, Lewis.”

“Bye.” The call ended and Lewis set his phone back on his nightstand.

“Was that the girls?” Cleo asked, not opening her eyes.

“Yeah, it was Rikki.”

“Are they okay? What happened last night?” She slowly opened her eyes.

He shrugged. “I mean, you guys were pretty bad.”

“Oh no,” she groaned.

“But it’s okay. Everyone’s okay.” He was quick to soothe her. “I’ve just got a few bruises, nothing that won’t heal in a couple of days.”

“Oh, Lewis, I’m so sorry,” she wound an arm around his waist. “You know I’d never hurt you on purpose, right?”

“I know.” He pressed a kiss to her forehead. “But I am going to make you pay for breakfast to make it up to me.”

She giggled. “That seems fair, although,” she hesitated, bringing a hand up to cup his cheek. “I’m not really hungry just yet.”

“O-Oh, well,” he grinned. “I guess there are other ways to make it up to me.”

[H2O s2 spoilers] Charlotte has literally done nothing wrong up until now and yet the show STILL paints her as such a bad person in Pressure Cooker.

She admits if she knew Don was Cleo's dad she wouldn't have shown up and looks visibly uncomfortable (but still trying to be polite) when she realizes it's Cleo's house and has to sit there and watch Cleo openly be rude to her mother by giving away a gift bought as a gesture of goodwill.

Charlotte KNOWS Lewis and Cleo are talking about her and instead of being rude and nasty about it (LIKE CLEO WAS IN EPISODE 3 WHEN SHE MADE ASSUMPTIONS) is just like "yeah, your dad is really struggling right now, you probably wanna go back in there and help him..?" like OMG that was so sweet of her. Yeah she interrupted their conversation, but come on she was trying to be nice. Characters interrupt each other all the time on this show- it's a teen drama, that's how it works. Despite everything Cleo had already done to her, Charlotte was still looking out for her dad.

Then Charlotte accidentally knocks a thing of flour into Cleo and goes up to her room after Cleo storms off to personally apologize for even BEING THERE because she can tell Cleo is Absolutely Furious about her showing up, and openly asks her if she can spend time with/date Lewis because she understands the two of them were together and she SEES how Cleo is reacting, and CLEO GIVES HER THE GO-AHEAD, BUT STILL TREATS HER AWFULLY ANYWAY. She didn't HAVE to ask for permission, but she does anyway!! AFTER APOLOGIZING FOR SIMPLY SHOWING UP TO HER MOM'S WORK EVENT.

and THEN at the end of the episode Cleo is like "even if it IS Charlotte (who I hate for literally no reason other than she stood up for herself when I tried to shame her in public for hanging out with my ex-boyfriend who I broke up with), it's Lewis's choice" but then gives her an actual death glare at the very end of the episode when Charlotte is literally just looking at her and evil music swells all because Charlotte smiles. WHAT!!!!!

IF YOU WANTED ME TO HATE CHARLOTTE SO BAD WHY DID YOU MAKE CLEO SO UNREASONABLE AND MEAN THIS SEASON AND CHARLOTTE AN ACTUAL SWEETHEART WHO HASN'T DONE ANYTHING WRONG OTHER THAN ACCIDENTALLY KNOCKING A BOWL OF FLOUR INTO SOMEONE AND PINING AFTER A GUY WHO IS- I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH- SINGLE!!!

anyway brb making a list of all the times the girls openly use their powers or are just straight-up reckless in public SOLELY IN SEASON 2 so i can compare it to them getting really mad at Charlotte and holding her to a huge double-standard because she used her powers to mess with Nate a little bit because HUUUUUUH??? if you have any examples hit me up because im currently doing a rewatch and im on ep 6 and already have a few... most notably Emma using her powers during the soccer game to dunk on a seven-year-old, but also Cleo using her powers at school to [checks notes] take a shortcut across a field with a sprinkler instead of just walking around. I have a few from memory as well that i just haven't gotten up to yet (like Emma and Rikki harassing Lewis at his job and almost getting him arrested because they left the gate open)

sometimes I forget about the possibly plural stuff and then I get hit with a wave of feelings that aren’t 100% my own and I’m like………. right these other facets of me never have a chance to be themselves. It makes me want to join a roleplay group to give them some space to be. But first i hate discord, forums forever. and second, I can’t ever keep it up. It’s like every other activity I’ve tried- I’ll obsess over it for a while and then drop it and never think of it again. until maybe randomly in the future. My interests like cycle around and that isn’t fair to the other people in the roleplay groups. So I never truly know what to do about it. I don’t feel like these are 100% completely separate people in my brain. It’s like a gem that rotates around so different facets are reflected in the light at different times. I’m a guy, I can’t stop being a guy I can’t stop taking T, but what am I supposed to do with the facet of myself that’s a girl and a lesbian and a romantic.

your heart beat fast as you looked out the plane window to your mother’s seaside hometown—your new home. there was no need for your mom to nudge you awake since you weren’t able to sleep for the entirety you were on the plane, the nerves were eating at you.

you never thought you’d be back here, never thought that you’d ever say goodbye to your own hometown—which was also your late father’s—but here you were.

when your mom told you that you’d be moving here permanently you didn’t know how to feel. one one hand, you understood your mom’s decision. it was just you and her out there miles away from your family and everything must’ve reminded her of your father. it reminded you of him too. on the other hand, you desperately wished she would change her mind.

it was enough seeing that one glimpse of jake nine months ago, but to see him over and over and over again? you didn’t think you could take it. he still texted you, even more now since, and you still haven’t answered. things between the two of you still remain unsaid.

but you also couldn’t help but count down the seconds until you laid your eyes on him again. it set your skin alight and you couldn’t help the small smile on your face and the giddiness you felt. was it selfish, yes, but after everything you think you’re finally ready to face him again.

to give your relationship another chance. to give him your heart again and not be fearful that he would break it, that he’d keep it guarded and safe. after all, he said he would wait for you.

and if he didn’t protect your heart, you’d pull back and it would be as if you never had anything to do with him again.

“y/n? are you listening?” you heard your mother’s voice call out. you snapped back to reality, blinking a couple of times to get your wits.

you were no longer on the plane. now you were lugging suitcases into your aunt’s house. your aunt was delighted to hear that you and your mom would be moving here. there was plenty of room in the house until the two of you got your own place.

“mhm,” you mumbled, though you definitely weren’t listening.

your mom sat the suitcase she was carrying in front of you and grabbed your shoulders. “is it that boy from last summer?” what was his name? jacob?”

“jake,” jungwon answered for you as he walked out the front door to grab more boxes.

your mom snapped her fingers. “jake! that’s it. listen, i know you had some problems moving here because of him, but use this as a way to put yourself out there more than last summer! there’s more wonderful people here than just jake.” she gave you a sympathetic smile and continued carrying stuff inside while you remained planted to the same spot in the driveway.

it wasn’t “just jake” that worried you. it was all of his friends and hana. you didn’t want another summer full of drama, especially if you and jake did start dating again.

getting all your boxes and suitcases into the house went quick and relatively easy. you decided on unpacking all of your things later, right now your mind was too clouded.

jake’s letter sat carefully in your anxious hands. you must’ve read it a million times over now and still you could barely wrap your head around it.

“two people who are meant to be will always find a way back to each other. and we are meant to be. no matter how long it takes, i’ll wait for you.”

it was now or never. you grabbed your phone and opened your messages up to your conversation with jake. his last message was from this morning, hoping that you had a good day today. he must not know that you’re back and for good. with a shaky sigh, you let your fingers move across the keyboard.

you: meet me at our spot.
