So long as the political and economic system remains intact, voter enfranchisement, though perhaps resisted by overt white supremacists, is still welcomed so long as nothing about the overall political arrangement fundamentally changes. The facade of political equality can occur under violent occupation, but liberation cannot be found in the occupier’s ballot box. In the context of settler colonialism voting is the “civic duty” of maintaining our own oppression. It is intrinsically bound to a strategy of extinguishing our cultural identities and autonomy.
[...]
Since we cannot expect those selected to rule in this system to make decisions that benefit our lands and peoples, we have to do it ourselves. Direct action, or the unmediated expression of individual or collective desire, has always been the most effective means by which we change the conditions of our communities. What do we get out of voting that we cannot directly provide for ourselves and our people? What ways can we organize and make decisions that are in harmony with our diverse lifeways? What ways can the immense amount of material resources and energy focused on persuading people to vote be redirected into services and support that we actually need? What ways can we direct our energy, individually and collectively, into efforts that have immediate impact in our lives and the lives of those around us? This is not only a moral but a practical position and so we embrace our contradictions. We’re not rallying for a perfect prescription for “decolonization” or a multitude of Indigenous Nationalisms, but for a great undoing of the settler colonial project that comprises the United States of America so that we may restore healthy and just relations with Mother Earth and all her beings. Our tendency is towards autonomous anti-colonial struggles that intervene and attack the critical infrastructure that the U.S. and its institutions rest on. Interestingly enough, these are the areas of our homelands under greatest threat by resource colonialism. This is where the system is most prone to rupture, it’s the fragility of colonial power. Our enemies are only as powerful as the infrastructure that sustains them. The brutal result of forced assimilation is that we know our enemies better than they know themselves. What strategies and actions can we devise to make it impossible for this system to govern on stolen land? We aren’t advocating for a state-based solution, redwashed European politic, or some other colonial fantasy of “utopia.” In our rejection of the abstraction of settler colonialism, we don’t aim to seize colonial state power but to abolish it. We seek nothing but total liberation.

something about the way misty says "if you save him the others will get you." she has already decided that she will not participate in killing natalie, like she left the cabin and was running around with everyone, already with the intention of helping natalie if she could even without javi drowning.

I already complained about this but i will do it again
People can have like five blonde men, ten dark haired blue eyes men on the same work , but they draw the line at two pocs because they can't tell who is who on fanarts.
Like, what do you mean you don't know if a fanart is Hazel or show!Annabeth? forget the fact that one is older , the eye color is diferent (some draw annabeth with Lea´s black eyes and some with grey like on the book) so is the hair color and style (same, it depends wheter they draw annabeth blonde, black hair or a combination, and most draw hazel with lose hair and annie with the braids) like, forget ALL that...HOW CAN'T YOU TELL BETWEEN FREAKING ORANGE AND PURPLE? thats just plain dump

Okay, okay, I’ll come back to twst…just for a bit. Although, that headband around Deuce’s head looks a bit out of place😆 They should have drawn it right on the hairline. Rook looks so fresh. Give me your keys💖 I need them for Idia. Oh my, I hope I saved enough for him. I haven’t logged in over a week.

Yeah I agree a lot of the time unhinged and mentally unhealthy characters dying feels. Unfinished. An easy way out. Like "everything goes wrong and he dies because hes too traumatised" is simple, it's cowardly. You know whats hard? Slow and painful recovery. THATS the real subversive bold ending. You know its easy to go "this guy was too broken so he just died". That way, people don't have to think about that these people exist, they don't just disappear when things go wrong. Healing can be rebellion, in my opinion.
YES all of this ^^^
I feel bad that I used to have this mindset in the beginning. I looked at di!tommy solely as a character and at how much work it was gonna take to see him get better and was just ready to write him off. I hadn’t realized that real people with similar struggles also existed yknow. No one’s ever “too broken” to heal

one of these days ill go on my rant about how treating aspd as this super special disorder that has its own special parameters for diagnostics and must be avoided at all costs is ultimatley detrimental to people with AND without the disorder and feeds into the disorder, thru the lens of how izaya really isnt as good at manipulation or as untouchable as everyone- including himself- thinks he is, and how everyone treating him as such was a contributing factor in making everything worse for everyone. but i dont think people are ready for that one

(Chapter 22 Bonus Scene | Mystic Code Book Chapter 1 Q&A)
Thinking about how the photo Ray took of Isabella burned up with plant no.3, so the only pictures the children possibly have of her in the human world are mugshots stored in headquarters' database that might have been updated every year on her birthday.

How surreal it is to see her like that, grappling with memories of the complicated woman they knew—the good and the bad—and the young girl staring back at them who resolutely held her head up high to prove she had what it took to survive in a demon's world, knowing all the unspoken pain behind her eyes.
Yvette's portraits of her quickly become their preferred visual references.

Unexpected Baggage Pt 3
Erik left the bar with three cooling bodies inside, hands tucked into his pocket as the door shut itself behind him.
Kamala was watching him carefully, positioned far away from the windows. He had asked her to wait outside, but he knew she had heard everything. Whether she could speak German or not, the gunshot and screams and blood splatters should be enough context for her to know what happened.
"I know..." He started off uncomfortably, "I know you have nowhere else to go. But that had to be done. The things they've done- you can't imagine."
"It happens, I guess." She replied dully, "Not, not really my place to say, is it? I just want Monica back."
Right. The woman named Monica Rambeau, who Kamala had come from the future to rescue.
"I have no idea how to do that." He admitted, "Searching the entire world is... An impossible task. But I'll try to figure out a way."
Kamala nodded, and briskly began walking away from the bar, "Let's get out of here. You get any information from the Nazis that I didn't hear?"
"He's in Miami." Erik replied, following after her.
"The... Herr Doktor guy or some other person connected to him?" Her question was disinterested, but he knew she was just pretending at it.
"It's Schmidt." He confirmed, and didn't add Finally, but the bitter excitement still poured through.
"He work for HYDRA?"
"Huh?"
Kamala nodded, readjusting her grip on her bag, "HYDRA, scientific weapons development division of Nazi Germany? They took over an American counter-terrorism wing after WW2. Huge scandal when the documents all got leaked. My friend Bruno and I learned cryptography to help decode them."
All this she delivered in quick expressionless monologue, and then tacking on, "Or, you know. Things could have gone differently in this dimension."
But too many details were lining up perfectly in his mind.
"Well." Erik decided, "Good thing America is our next stop."
