After a successful escape attempt, she took to thievery at grander and grander schemes, before getting noticed by Demetrius Elidure, a person with connections to V.I.L.E, and eventually nominated by him.

I will not be explaining the image for spoilers sake (it's already kinda spoilery as is-) but yes, something this hard does happen in the fic. I went absolutely feral the first time reading that part and knew I had to draw it eventually!

Shadow company with young fem reader

Reader is fem coded and being a woman is mentioned

The shadow company had taken a newer shadow In against their own will, graves though that they would be a great add and that they could bring some light to the shadows that they constantly casted.

They had complained because why didn’t they get into the company that easily but commander decisions always (most of the time) made sense. The main reason graves chose you was because you were the only American in the trainee line up and you were blond like him in his youngin days, yeah you could have been the worst out of the bunch and half the fact you were looked down and frowned upon because you were a woman; but graves could give less of a rats ass about how good you were in hand to hand combat or how good you were with a gun.

You looked like a small little female version of him (you are 6’0 only an inch shorter then graves) he sees you as his mini me and his daughter on the daily and he wants to protect you from the mad mad men that are the rest of the shadows(he’s still a major shit headed asshole to you but a little less.)

By the time you were officially a part of the shadow company graves had ran out of numbers because there are over 100 shadows now and he didn’t just want to make you shadow 0-134 so he went to his most trusted shadows and they conjectured up a a name for you they ended coming up with shadow 0-0 red and a new generation of shadows would start from 0 and go up but with different colors for short your official call sign is shadow red, But while out of mission your unofficial call sign is barb like Barbie but barb.

Another thing is half of the shadows are creeped out by you because you rarely talk and only speak when spoken too, like ghost but quieter then ghost. It freaks some of them out because you might just be standing behind them and they turn around and pull a weapon so quick and almost swing on you.

Once coming back from a mandatory medical break you were put on off field duty for a while so to cheer you up (you weren’t even sad but you let them plan whatever) graves bought you some pink cow boy boots, it’s safe to say to make him and the shadows happy when ever you were walking around on off-field duty you wore them and those bitches were hot and made your feet cramp but whatever got them to shut up about how bad they felt you would do whatever it took.

Ok so I didn't have a lot of words to give so I made some art

For context: The death of Links mother (only a few months after he was born) is a pretty recurring undertone of my four swords series Color Spectrum. Its effected their dad and Link's relationships a lot...

From their father grieving when Link was little and Link trying to pick up the emotional strain as a kid... to feeling like it was his own fault or like he was a burden due to how "difficult" he was as a teen. A lot of this was subconscious in Link before the manga, but it definitely plays a large role in their dynamics between each link and also each of their relationships with their father.

I can go into more details about this if you like, but that's more of a "What if I exploded and Generational Trauma just Splattered Everywhere" (#14) starring Red lol

anyways, I had this idea that like, links mother (im calling her Mia for now) got some freshly dead privileges esp considering her relationship with fairies and yk, giving birth to the kid with the soul of the ancient hero or whatever.

Point is she wanted a way to be able to come back and protect or aid her little one in some way in the future. Hylia gave her an offer and she took it. And uh-

Also forgot to mention shes Soo autistic <3 which is fun because link (or the linkS) are very autistic and that like??disconnect is what caused SO many issues between them originally, I really feel like links shaky relationship with his dad is overlooked but eh just my opinion

Listen this originally just started out as "lol what if the dragon from the manga was sweet and kind to shadow" but I'd also just finished thinking about how links dads grief paralleled vios and uh-

Well I connected the dots (I forced them together very aggressively while sobbing) and now their mom came back as a half sentient dragon who saw bebe shadow and went "this is mine" and decided to lick his wounds (literally) and teach him how to fight when he was just like... yk being forced to become stronger thru survival

to be clear she didn't mean to like burn down crops and whatever, half sentience and all, but she just wanted to support her new lil monochrome bebe (shadow) and then SHE DISCOVERED MORE IN DIFFERENT COLORS AND WAS ABSOLUTELY THRILLED

(links father is terrified but also mystified by her) and she thinks that this little fella who has been taking care of her babies is very nice to keep alive as well

Also shadow originally named her "Blood Hunter" but in private? When its just her and him? He calls her Mai-Mai because well. Dragons do communicate and her little noises while she took care of lil shadow? Sounded very much like "mai a maiamaimai"

(also I just love the name I stole it from ALBW)

Would love to see a Carmen Sandiego AU where she still escapes VILE island but continues to be a "bad" thief and steals from VILE as well as everyone else out of spite for Shadowsan failing her.

Maybe she still recruits Zack and Ivy and Player but they also enjoy stealing and are along for the ride. All the other VILE operatives are annoyed because every time they get close to stealing something, Carmen comes in and steals it first and keeps it. All out of pure spite and determination.
