On this unseasonably warm May day, sophomores Shawn and Lukas and a handful of other students decided to cool off by stripping down and running through the sprinklers on the quad!

I'm sure everyone here remembers the eyewitness parallel to the byler s3 rainfight, Mike paralleling Lukas and Will paralleling Philip in the scene, but just saw an eyewitness edit and one of the scenes taken from the show was when Lukas is hurt and unconscious in a hospital bed. As Lukas is unconscious Philip says, "Please wake up." and then kisses Lukas' forehead.

We all know that it's like super likely that Mike is gonna end up super hurt this season at some point mainly because he never got super hurt in the series before, and he's probably gonna end up in the hospital. So, what if we get ANOTHER eyewitness parallel, where Will kisses Mike on the forehead while Mike is unconscious in a hospital bed???

in my opinion that would be adorable and perfect and since Shawn Levy directed the rainfight episode which had an eyewitness parallel, he could include yet another parallel to eyewitness in s5 since he's confirmed to be directing an episode in s5.

Hey! I love love all your analysis that center on cinematography, writing and the themes of the show, but I really think Byler analysts should stop with the eyewitness parallel! The scenes are actually not identical at all, they just look similar in the wide shot with the car in the background, but that's it. The "I'm not gay like you" line isn't even in that scene, the whole thing has just been widely exaggerated by Bylers. I doubt Shawn Levy has even seen this show, it didn't have great ratings and was cancelled after one season. If we need compelling Byler evidence, I think it has to actually come from the show, or everyone else will discredit us. But many that's just my opinion, I don't know... Anyway, sorry for the rant!

it's not just the wide shot and the car, it's the silhouettes and the desaturated gloomy coloring

and you can't just write off the car. remember this is a tv show, everything has to be decided beforehand and placed there. or if it's cgi a team of people have to spend hours and hours creating it. with something as big as a car it just isn't an accident.

why put the car there? what was the reason? is has no relevance to the scene. it's in a weird place. it takes up so much of the screen behind will and mike. so why even put it there at all?

they did it because it's a reference to a piece of queer media. the show having some bad reviews and being cancelled doesn't mean it can't be paralleled. i remember seeing philkas A LOT in 2016-17. and at that time there wasn't THAT much blatant queer representation, especially rep where the show is all about them.

and shawn levy is a director, a film person. you can't just assume he hasn't seen it because it wasn't the most popular show ever. the ST writers showed us a board with every inch of it covered in names of different movies and shows that they took inspiration from for s4. and a bunch of them are obscure, unpopular, low budget movies i guarantee you've NEVER heard of. because that's what film people do, they watch and study film.

and i do know about bylers exaggerating what lukas says in that scene, and im assuming you said that because yesterday i posted about the parallel and used a picture where it references that. i shouldn't have used that picture, i honestly didn't think anyone would read it. i just wanted a pic where it at least said that phillip and lukas are gay and explained eyewitness.

and if you're right and this is just a coincidence, then it doesnt even matter because there is piles and piles of evidence within ST that supports byler

Every time Sam asks about his mom, Ben writes a mean elevenie about them in his diary.

He wouldn't cry at dinner; now would he?

Between vegetable sticks with dip, fried eggs and bread there simply was no space left for a scene; so instead of a stifled "Piss off!" or kick against their leg, Sam's bench neighbor just ignored the question.

"Want more carrots?"

No, they didn't. What'd certainly be more helpful to get their monthly listeners invested was the tale of a missing parent and how her son ended up on an endless Boy Scout field trip.

From out of their line of view, a familiar interviewee decided to drop by. Shepard fished out some eggs for his already full plate and sat down at the long slate of oak on stilts they called a table: "Scoot over, sweetheart."

Now sandwiched between Sam and his dad, Ben hoped for them to chat with the few others collected around them, so he could enjoy his dinner in peace. Not despite, but because he thought of her often - every day a bit less: a mercy Sam obviously begrudged.

"How was your day?" Shepard asked cheerfully, one hand laid on Ben's shoulder.

"Good, good. We went through the alphabet again and Shawn, he...uhm."

The warm palm wandered further up against the small of his neck. "We..."

The friendly gesture told him exactly what was offered - a crumb of peace, a bargain he wasn't taught to refuse. In a trice, Ben forgot what he wanted to say to instead stare absently at the checkered tablecloth.

"I'm glad you had fun together." His father's words were gentle.  

Usually, Sam wouldn't mind Shepard taking over answering for his reluctant son - but this, whatever they were just witnessing, sent shivers down their spine.

"We wrote a few postcards, didn't we?" Amber eyes fixated on Sam and fingers carding through Ben's hair made him croon in agreement, "But as you can imagine, it's difficult to contact somebody who disappeared without a trace or address." 

His son's glassy stare didn't seem to worry the man as he slowly allowed him to lean his heavy head against him: "It's nobody's duty to chase one around who refuses to be found."

Like Lukas? Still, foresight made Sam bite their tongue.

"Sorry, we shouldn't discuss this at dinner," Shepard insistent, to which they could only nod. 

A single kiss on his son's forehead made him blink back to his usual self, sit up and take a bite like nothing unusual just occurred. Shepard placed a heaping spoonful of beetroot on the plate, a gift Ben sluggishly poked at with his fork.

"I hate these," he sighed at Sam and rolled his eyes.

Unsure about what exactly they just witnessed, Sam picked up a baby carrot and kept quiet for the evening.

just a bit of a personality check ; tristan can be very outgoing and adventurous and fun to be around but in the same breath . he's very closed off and it's hard to really know who he is sometimes . he finds it hard to keep any long lasting friendships because he doesn't allow people to get too close to him . very impulsive , will do anything and everything on his mind if he wants to . doesn't like feeling like anyone or anything has any control over him because he deals with his own struggles with himself and feeling like he isn't even in control of who tristan carvalho is . daredevil vibes , he will do anything ! true adrenaline junkie at it's finest . also the type that thinks the worst ideas are the best ideas . can be a bit of an ass when he's woken up on the wrong side of the bed . he's got that classic sarcasm and all that jazz . but under it all he's just a sad boi . . . well , maybe not under it all . he probably thinks he hides his emo'ness way more than he actually does . ( there's probably so much more i can add but i'll come back and make this intro better later ! )

tristan was born as a twin in brooklyn , new york . and for the first thirteen years of his life he had no idea that he came from a family of great fortune .

his father was working a job that hardly paid anything and his mother was taking care of their only children , tristan and theo . a seemingly humble family and life . just a small family living a very humble life . but things weren't all as they seemed . the twins so used to the way they were brought up and what they were around they didn't even realize ( at first ) that they were living in a life of completely dysfunction and chaos .

when tristan was old enough to really put together the pieces that his family wasn't exactly normal . that his father used drugs and was constantly getting in trouble with the law and his mother was too busy tangled up in her whirlwind and forbidden romance with his father , she didn't pay much attention to her own children . instead putting all her focus into their father and their father putting all his focus into the drugs he so desperately wanted .

when tristan was around twelve years old , his father was arrested and ended up in prison for multiple offenses that were life changing to more people than just his father . after a few months of his mother trying to continue her whirlwind romance with their father , she started to realize she'd end up on the streets fast if she didn't do something to change that . which was when she ended up going back to her parents , taking her kids along . all of them living with tristan's grandparents . the live change was too much for tristan and his sister . the both of them unable to really deal with the change . in their own ways .

it was only then that tristan met his grandparents , new york business moguls . once living there , tristan's mother ended up getting sucked into the world her parents wanted her in . joining in the business . to work in the company , continue the name of their family . it'd always been a big deal to the van dien's . the fame and wealth it brought .

growing up , tristan never felt as though he really belonged in the world he was in . he couldn't connect to one extreme , a world with practically nothing and now the other extreme , a world with seemingly everything . . . when in reality , both were full of a bunch of nothingness . . . it caused the male to turn to reckless and bad behavior - his mother fearing there was some of his father in him . that need for something more . . . for something a bit more gritty and grimy .

he acted out a lot as a child and teen . even going into his adult years . to the point where his family had to cover up a few things he'd gotten himself into . a part of him wishing they wouldn't . that they'd just let things unfold the way they were . having this need to be sucked up and spit out by the world .

but there was a time when things were seemingly . . . okay . tristan and his grandmother managed to form a bond with each other and she became the only person he could stand , other than his twin sister . the only person he'd actually listen to . despite him acting out , she had this motherly like stature to her . something that tristan was able to latch onto . in a way , he put his grandmother on a pedestal . disallowing himself to see that maybe she was just as bad as the rest of his family . a family full of fucked up and bad people . either way , when she passed . he felt like a piece of his heart was cut out and thrown away . taking it extremely hard . only igniting the way he was acting out even more .

after tristan's grandmother passed , a lot of things began to changed . she was the backbone of the family , at least for tristan . the morally ground one . the one that brought a bit of reality and humbleness to the family . but with her gone , things began to go a little haywire .

with tristan acting out more than even and his attitude changing so drastically overnight . . . no one knew what to do with him . his family wanted a certain life for him but tristan had never been the type of person that would do what others wanted if he didn't want that . he was a fighter . . . which in a way was contradictory with how much he felt like throwing himself on the ground and giving up . with how disobedient tristan was , his family began to label him as something much more negative . almost not seeing him as a part of their family . but having to save face with the world . . . constantly trying to find ways to make him look better for the outside world .

things only got worse for the male when his sister decided to skip town . both siblings didn't want a part of the world they had been forced into . the only difference was tristan was stubborn and a fighter almost to a fault . when his sister begged him to go off with her , that they could start over . . . tristan said no . . . his sister was the type to run and dodge the things that she didn't want to deal with . tristan had the same quality but he'd stay in the things that hurt him . . . some may things the bond between twins is all talk . . . but when his sister left , tristan felt it . feeling as though he lost another piece of himself when she left .

on another note ; tristan didn't follow in the foot steps of his family . although , they're still trying to get him to come into it . thinking what he's doing now is just a phase . but as a career , tristan had made a pretty good name for himself as a professional skateboarder and only recently started getting into making music in a more professional sense .

does that mean his name and his families money didn't have any hand in the popularity he was able to gain ? probably not . . . but skateboarding is something he enjoys and takes seriously .

again . . . there's probably so much i'm missing or just . . . need to fix up because this is . . . a dumpster fire but this is what we got for now ! THANK YOU !
