Okay so this new episode that came out (Episode 4) was poorly handled.

- No warning before the show starts...why? And even if there is no way for Viv to add one, for some stupid ass reason, why didn't she announce to the fandom properly "Hey, this will have very deep topics and imagery that may not be suitable for all audiences."? Why have arguments on threads and fail to do this very easy thing. At least if the episode came out, people would get a heads up, and the word would spread faster PLUS people would see that you at least TRIED

- The episode opens up with a scene of CNC porno played for laughs in an episode that tackles SA. Complete tonal whiplash. Why did it have to open up with Angel showing everyone a porno? It serves no purpose other than to get a cheap laugh (that never came) out of me or anyone else who watches and because of the topic of the episode revolved around it. I'msure that if the episode WASN'T ABOUT SA, that joke would not have been there....but it is. There was legit no good reason to start this fiasco off with such a tone deaf opening.

- Charlie is actually fucking useless and a burden in this episode, serving no other purpose other than being the gateway to further the issues that befall Angel when "trying" to help. This all screams forced. Worse of all, Charlie does nothing to actually HELP Angel out of this, even though he has a clear black eye thanks to it all and literal mirrors breaking as a result of the abuse. We never see an actual development between the two thanks to her foolishness and garbage writing, and it's resolved easily as if this is some early Disney cartoon season that's on a strict deadline. Regardless of whether she apologized or not, she essentially caused the issue and did NOTHING to actually clean her mess. The goddamn B A R T E N D E R had to be used to salvage the pieces. So far, Charlie, as a character, is utterly pathetic and has been a burden to the cast twice so far. Vaggie, who tried to prove herself (moreso Vaggie's fault for going the extra mile for no reason but an obstacle nonetheless), also had an issue that involved Charlie's utter lack of a backbone. Hey, what was it that Charlie said in the pilot that her dad taught her and one of the only thingsshe learned from him? "You don't take shit from other demons"

- Only one scene from the abuse shown was handled well, and it was when Charlie visited, screwed everything up, and Val asked Angel to come to his dressing room. Aside from that, the whole SA imagery is jarring. While this time, the fast pace of it all is not bad, the quick shift into it all with Angel switching from enjoying to hating, to smiling, to frowning, ALONG with the quick pace of it all with the PRIOR KNOWLEDGE SHOWN and the SONG PLAYING, I am getting mixed messages here. Imagery? Shows Angel getting assaulted multiple times with either a forced smile or for some reason ENJOYING sex with Val and the role play situations showcased, is he INTO his abuse? Lyrics? He seems to find arousal in Val controlling him. The song legit reads as follows

"Addicted to this feeling, I can't help but swallow"

This doesn't read like he is "forced" it reads like he is yearning the toxic relationship. Now if this was one of the main issues with the abusive relationship, where it was a codependency built on romanticising the abuser and Angel learning to break free from that horrible view of someone who never loved him and actively harms him, this lyric would make a lot of sense....but that's not what we are shown at all. From the jump, we are shown that Angel HATES being with Val, to the point of him straight up avoiding his texts and voice messages, they actually do an okay job (despite the shoddy voice work) on showcasing how manipulative Val is and his outright explosive temper through this scene in episode 2. We see that Angel does NOT wanna have association with Val, is tired of it all, and even got drunk to down his sorrows. Yet these lyrics present it all as though it's just a very rocky love life like those songs you hear on the radio with the singer lamenting about how awful their relationship was but still miss their toxic boo-boo. It just...doesn't read like an SA song and could mean anything regarding the type of abuse he is facing. It's kinda vague in hindsight. That's MY take on the lyrics, though.

- Husk's song is a trash fire. He sees Angel is down in the dumps and proceeds to talk shit about him pretty much relaying his sorrows, saying it's okay to feed into your vices, and downplaying the actual situation at hand. So let's get this straight.

Angel- A sexual abuse victim forced into sex slavery to appease all sorts of people's sexual desires whether he likes it or not, including pleasuring his pimp who physically abuses him often all cause he sold his soul

Husk- Gambled his life away and lost his title as overlord, serves under Alastor all cause he sold his soul.

How is this even...the same at all? Even if Husk is lacking some context, he SEES that Angel normalized drinking roofied drinks and works for Val SOMEONE HUSK SHOULD KNOW ABOUT AND WHAT HE DOES but nah, screw Angel. Even if he honest to God (irony) wanted to actually help, why tf would Husk think this was sound advice? Why does Husk just SUDDENLY care? No build up, no memorable dynamic, no nothing. Realistically, CHARLIE should be the one singing with Angel or maybe Vaggie because she heard the story from Charlie. Not Husk. He is self aware enough where he knows this "advice" wouldn't work but nah. Nothing about the song makes sense. Telling someone going through it that "you're a loser" pretty much a no one, an insignificant individual, when VAL has made it clear that Angel would be nothing without him...yeah no the only reason why this whole song "worked" was cause the writers wanted it to, so Angel is happy with being a loser for being a victim of SA and selling his soul to someone who abuses him in various ways consistently.

This episode is terrible

Okay i might be a little pissed off. Expect typos, im on my phone.

A character does not need a specific label, have a gender, nor have sex/romantic physical gestures in order to be queer rep

Aziraphale and Crowley are not gay men.

They are played by male actors. They present male most of the time. But that means nothing, because gender presentation =/= gender identity or sex.

Neil has said multiple times that angels and demons are sexless. It's on the book. It's on several of his tweets and answers to asks. This implies that angels and demons are non-binary by default. Gabriel isn't a man, Michael isn't a woman, Beelzebub isn't a woman, Furfur isn't a man.

And now, you could argue that a genderless creature isn't necessarily queer and I agree! Several animals are genderless irl.

But here's what makes them queer: it's not that they don't have a gender, it's that they don't give a fuck about it. Crowley presents female i believe up to three times in the show, Neil was planning a minisode where both he and Aziraphale are fem-presenting in the 60s; Michael is a male angel name and he's played by an actress and (At least in the portuguese dub? Correct me if im wrong) still called "he". Same for Beelzebub, who I think is also reffered to with they/them in english. Hell, God has a female voice and is still called God (the male version of the word!!!) and even Her pronouns are a bit flexible in certain dubs.

What makes them queer is that their genderless aspect isn't just biological, it's their identity, too. These characters are all non-binary, they know it, and they don't mind it.

"But they present male and call each other 'he'!"

As I said, gender presentation does not equal identity and neither does pronouns. It's words: words that get often associated with a certain gender but are, in the end, just words.

Not only that, but this argument also comes from the expectation that non-binary people cannot present themselves in a binary way, which is an absurd thing to expect. People irl have all kinds of different hormonal balances and many enby folk may be hypermasculine or hyperfeminine due to high testosterone or estrogen respectively. And you know what? They might not want to change that, and that is completely fine.

Non binary people do not owe you androginy.

Being trans isn't about appearances, isn't about transitioning, it's about identity. Thinking otherwise is borderline transmedicalist ideology.

Good Omens breaks gender norms all the fucking time in both seasons, something many shows are afraid to do, and it's not just for comedy reasons, which tends to be the norm when shows do it. They do it because it's fun, it's fine, and because they acknowledge that gender norms are stupid.

That's queer as hell.

My second point, no need for labels. Just like angels and demons don't need gender labels, they don't need sexuality labels. At all. Especially since they're often intertwined.

Just because two characters don't have their specific labels revealed doens't mean they aren't queer or, fuck's sake, don't love each other.

In A League Of Their Own, no characters get specific labels, what they are is simply implied. Greta is very implied to be lesbian but they never say the exact word. Does that mean she isn't queer?

In The Song Of Achilles, no characters get specific labels because hell, the labels didn't exist at the time the story takes place in. Both main characters are implied to be bi/pansexual but it's obviously never told in the text. Does that mean they aren't queer?

In Undertale and Deltarune, no characters get specific labels, but in both games the main protagonist is nonbinary (and is in both cases a human being!) and both games have several mlm and wlw couples and several more nonbinary characters across the storyline, but it's never specifically labeled. Does that mean it doesn't have queer rep?

Neil has said several times that Good Omens is a love story, that Aziraphale and Crowley love each other, that even if they're not 'gay male humans' they still feel love for one another. That's the entire point of season two.

And now, I get it, okay? I don't like authors tip-toeing around labeling their characters either, especially since in most places we are past the age of having to code characters instead of just make them openly queer. I get the fear and uncertainty that often came from some sort of trauma from bbc's Sherlock, I felt it too. I get that for some it may seem as if it's queerbaiting, or pink money, or simply being too scared to say a character is queer.

But that's just not the case with Good Omens. The point is not to avoid labels because they're scary. The point is that, for Good Omens, and aziracrow, labels are useless. They're not humans, they don't have a gender, they don't need the labels.

And you know what?

That's also queer as hell.

Society has to put people into boxes, has to separate folk, has to label everyone. No one can be different, and id you are you need to fit this specific box of different. If you go out, you're too much, you're too rebellious, you're a freak. If they just let people do whatever they wanted it would be hard to marginalize them and keep the system going.

A quote I once heard feels important for this occasion:

"To define yourself is to restrain yourself."

When you define something in strict terms you're putting rules to it. Rules that can be broken. Rules that should be broken. And the rulebreakers get insulted, hated, violated, killed.

Aziraphale and Crowley are breaking these rules by 'existing' as who they are. They're not gay men, they're not lesbian women, they're not bisexual agenders, but at the same time they are all of those things at the same time, whenever they want to, whenever YOU want them to, as Neil himself put it. Because fuck labels. And you're hating them for it, hating them because they're refusing to enter those boxes.

Humans are weird and complex. Let the angels and demons be weird and complex too.

Lastly, queer relationships don't need sex - nor kisses.

There's this expectation that romantic love is only true love if they kiss, if they live together, if they sleep on the same bed, if they go on dates, if they marry, if they have kids, if they have sex. Break one of these and people will raise an eyebrow. Break two and they look at you weird. Break three and everyone judges you. Break all of them and, suddenly, you and your partner have been declared "just friends" by outsiders who don't know you in the slightest.

Welcome to amatonormativity.

Or, better saying, another stupid box, another set of rules.

There's this headcanon that Crowley kisses Aziraphale as a last resort not because it's a gesture if love (even Neil said it wasn't out of love) but because he's seen it in human movies and, in movies, kissing someone in despair is a cliché that often ends in the other person not leaving.

This wasn't a love kiss. But Crowley still loves Aziraphale. Do you know why?

Because angels and demons, most likely, do not need human gestures to show love. They, most likely, comprehend love in an entirely different light.

Maybe Aziraphale is touchy with Crowley because he likes it and that is a good enough reason, but it's an individual reason, just like a person irl might be more fond of hugging their partner than kissing them, and that's fine. Nothing wrong with it. There's no right or wrong way to have a relationship. Acting like there is is reinforcing the rules set by amatonormativity, and it is also completely disregarding the experiences of asexual and aromantic folk. The entire spectrums btw.

Now think about the rules I mentioned earlier. Must kiss, must fuck, must marry etc.

Aziracrow also breaks almost all of them.

That's also queer as hell!!!

Being queer and celebrating pride isn't about having labels. It's about breaking societal norms: heteronormativity, cisnormativity, mononormativity, amatonormativity, etc. Norms that are used to opress us, to put us in boxes, to separate us, to marginalize us, and to kill us.

A show that gives the middle finger to all of these and just tells its story however way it likes, not caring about labeling the characters or having a long monologue about homophobia or showing a explicit sex scene between the two characters or following any of those stupid rules imposed by society, a society ran by cishet folk, is as queer as a show can ever be.

To deny that is to reinforce a narrative that is literally used to opress us.

Hii hannah! I'm bout three months late because i had exams going on, well, I still have exams going on but I decided to not procrastinate and just write this.

Thank you so so much for writing my tenth doctor and rory requests. you don't know how much it means that you took time out of your life to write my requests. when I first started watching Doctor who, barely a season in, i stumbled upon your blog and read your dying girl story, i didn't even know anything properly bout doctor's character or other companions but your fic though! it captured doctor's character so well! It was in May I read it and started watching the show and I now always connect that time with doctor who and you and your fics haha. 

 I got so obsessed that I made this dying girl reader universe in my head with headcanons and stuff and started associating songs to the reader and fic ; i know they are like kinda popular cliche songs but snowman by sia and never be the same by camila cabelo really reminds me of the amy and rorys wedding scene with reader and doctor dancing (was it real or I made that up in my head?) and memory of reader practising mind reading thing and seeing memories of Doctor and she's like who's this beautiful person in his memories and doctor is like that's you love <3 moonlight serenade, spring waltz, we'll meet again, moon river, across the universe are some other songs I associate with them,, you didn't even ask for playlist but here I'm sharing it just because lmao

Ngl I always checked your page once in a while when you were on break because I just looked forward to your writing so much and in January, around my birthday, found out you were active again and posted my requests and gotta say, best birthday gift even if it technically wasn't lol. I wonder if you've finished twelve's episodes, you mentioned how it is hard to "let go" of a doctor and I completely agree,  I finishesed twelfth doctors episodes in December and God was it hard to say goodbye to him, I know I can rewatch but it won't be like first time :'( you know, the "i love my current doctor so much" feeling?

I've started thirteen but it doesn't feel the same, especially without murray gold's music and well, moffat and rtd. so glad that rtd is coming back for new seasons though!

Oh and have you read love is a choice fic on tumblr? it's a mostly eleven but also kinda thirteen x reader multiple parts series and tbh, one of the only fic that made me laugh and cry like dying girl series did. if you haven't i hope you check it out, it's a great read!

I love that you took off with the Dying Girl universe because honestly that's what it became for me while I was writing it. It became so big I knew I could write so much about what happens in between the parts, and your request fit perfectly there.

I totally understand finding yourself fully immersed in a story, even if it is fanfiction. When that happens to me I just write and post it on here 😅 That's happened with the Dying Girl and the episodic series I started for the Eleventh Doctor and the Samwise Gamgee series and this Mandalorian one I'm starting.

My brain is hardwired to come up with these random tangents to canon stories, and they end up becoming these elaborate fanfictions.

I have not finished twelves episodes - I'm still on his last season. Just like I wrote on our last conversation, I'm terrified of how sad I'll feel when he leaves because ten and eleven were real heartbreakers. I agree, I love him, and I'm so excited you requested something for him.

Bucky Barnes Texts Mystery Person During Interview, Blink and Miss Text Messages Flashed As He Dropped His Phone.

The earlier joke Bucky made about starting another song association earned the two of you a pointed glare each, from Sam and a threat to call Yelena. Which resulted in Bucky and you only laughing more as you entered the production house. 

“She’s scarier than him.” Bucky whispers, you giggle nodding along.

“Him can get scarier if ya’ll continue.” Sam warns walking ahead.

“You ready for the day?” Bucky questions as you three wait for the elevator.

“I suppose, I mean it’s just a read through right?” Your stomach twists, you wince internally. That feeling was never a good sign.

“It is a different process at SHEILD.” Bucky’s brows furrow as he catches your troubled expression.

The elevator dings, doors opening, Sam and Bucky wait for you to move in first.

“SHEILD Productions has a meticulous process,” Sam begins to explain as the doors close,  “The core team — made up of the actors, director, executive producers read through the script. Which is occurring today.” 

You look towards Bucky, he nods. 

“The director and executive producers then select certain scenes from the script. The actors would then enact these selected scenes. If something is amiss a live rewrite and immediate reenactment occurs plus if the actors feel better to do a scene a certain way then those edits are made and then again an enactment done.” Sam’s gaze shifts to Bucky, both knew they were hoping a certain scene isn’t selected.

Bucky clears his throat, “Then fine tuning is done, for flow, as many or as little. The updated scripts are sent in sealed envelopes, depending on the director’s instructions we are given anywhere between a month or three to prepare for the role, which means the next few months you will get busier.” he smiles encouragingly, as you absorb the information.

“So basically what you asked me over the past week or two was much lesser?” You wonder, it seemed work would be cut out for you.

“I’m afraid so, I really get into the mindset and role, I even purchased an additional copy for more constructive character building and making notes.” He grins.

“Oh and he keeps me awake to also take these notes incase his book is forgotten some place.” Sam complains, you chuckle.

“I’d do the same, ugh, I think I should buy those multiple subject notebooks depending on the number of actors.” You begin to wonder what would be a better option, digital notes or handwritten.

The last few floors are remaining, “James, do you like this process?” You wonder.

Bucky purses his lips in contemplation. When he was roped in by SHEILD the movie led him into his more commercial success, bringing him into the mainstream. He found this read then re-read process daunting at first, but slowly acclimated towards it, it was something that only occurred at SHEILD where the actors could also give their two cents instead of only an improvisation as the camera rolled. 

“It is daunting but it feels good to be a part of the development process more, other movies only if improvs occur during a scene and are accepted is my contribution beyond my carved out role.” He answers, then the doors open to the conference room floor.

Sam pulls Bucky to the side handing his own phone to the latter.

There were two worries on your mind as your eyes move across the room. 

One, what was done to the story to condense it into a script and the second, how Bucky would face the scene of Rhys’ arm loss. It was one thing to read it, but you hoped it would not have a negative impact having to act it out. 

You prayed, prayed it would not be the scene he has to act out.

The tables are arranged in a semi circle. Name plaques and character names written to indicate where everyone would be sitting. There was a stage set up at the far end, a table labelled props and another carried refreshments beyond the bottles of water placed near everyone’s plaques.

You feel Yelena’s absence, wishing she was there to speak to you, but she said there was an unavoidable thing she needed to take care.

Your eyes move to the opposite side, Dolores grins while eyeing the plaque next to hers. 

“Hey, there.” Loki greets, you smile and wave at him.

“Ready for the day?” He wonders, “Also I’m upset I don’t get to send the internet into a meltdown with you, I thought we were becoming best friends.” Loki pouts.

“I only give one meltdown a month, next month you can have meltdown rights.” You chuckle, Loki raises his pinky towards you.

“Pinky promise?” he requests, you intertwine your pinky,

“Pinky promise.” you affirm.

“Grand, I’ll tell my best friend the news.” Loki grins with mischief as Bucky and Sam return. 

You trace your plaque, taking a picture to send to your mom.

The nights you spent crying over the plot and nursing migraines flash by your eyes. Pride warms your chest.

Loki and Bucky are off to the side taking pictures with their plaques, you smile at their antics. Ace takes a picture of their plaque as well.

Steve walks into the room, looking up from his phone, he walks right up to you where you stand, “Hello.” He murmurs quietly.

“Hello.” You greet back. When look up at him, his eyes are hidden behind a pair of sunglasses. Your brows furrow.

Steve smiles, swiftly it turns into a smirk, “Missing my baby blues?” 

You roll your eyes in response looking back at Bucky and Loki.

“Aw don’t be like that sweetheart.” He chastises, hand moving to your chin. You shift back. Backing into the table. 

Bucky turns at that very moment, he clenches his jaw, stepping towards the two of you. Loki follows. Steve hums, looking towards Bucky with a cheshire cat grin.

“It’s so easy to rile him up.” Steve leans in to whisper in your ear, gooseflesh erupt at the proximity.

“Steve.” You warn shifting further to the side. 

Bucky’s intense gaze takes you back to the night of the dinner. He taps Steve’s shoulder. 

“What is it, Buck?” Steve scoffs spotting Loki behind Bucky.

“Shut up.” Bucky glares at Steve then offers his hand to you. You grasp it, he gives a slight tug and you slip past Steve. 

“Loki and I want to take pictures with you and the plaques. SHEILD tradition we’ve established.” He explains. You smile,

“I’d like that, James.” 

Bucky grins, the little crinkles by his eyes show.

Steve rolls his eyes, sauntering to his place next to Dolores. He shoots a look to his manager who is perched on a table behind his, typing away on her phone. She looks up indifference colours her features at Dolores approaching.

“Hey Stevie.” Dolores sits on the table, hand placed on his.

“Hello Dot.” His tone is clipped, she pouts. Glossed lips gleaming in the light, Steve tries to not have her pry. It was enough to tolerate her over the weekend.

“Now, now, what has you grumpy? Maybe I can help.” She then scoffs when instinctually his gaze moves to the three of you taking pictures,

“I don’t know what she thinks of herself.” Dot grumbles, “So what if she wrote the book? It’s my movie now.”

Steve gazes to the ceiling sending a silent prayer as Dolores launches in a ramble about her importance to the movie. The remaining actors trickle in, taking their designated places. 

Loki takes a bunch of pictures, even pulling out his instant camera and having Sam take three pictures so each of you could keep one. Sam was all smiles taking the pictures and pulling funny faces to make the three of you laugh.

“I’m keeping this one.” Bucky takes his pick, grabbing the photograph and tucking it into his pocket.

“Hey, at least let me see it!” Loki grumbles trying to grab the picture. 

You chuckle, moving with your plaque to where Ace was sitting.

“I called dibs!” Bucky makes a run for it.

“What are you, four?” Loki grumbles out but still running behind him,

“I’m a child at heart.”

“You’re a child per se.”

Sam chuckles but whips his own phone out to get videos, this is what he liked to post on behalf of his clients, genuine moments not orchestrated crap. Though sometimes orchestrated crap was required. 

Drowning out their sounds, you stand in front of Ace. 

“Would you be okay with us taking a picture together with the plaques?” You ask them, they smile at you. 

“I’d love that,” they stand, the two of you set up your phones, using the timer to take pictures. 

“I wanted to tell you, I finished the book in one night.” They grin as you both approve the pictures.

“Really?” You blink several times, not recalling the last reading binge you yourself did.

“I could not put it down, TMI I took it into my bathroom.” Ace laughs, you chuckle.

“I take my phone with me to carry on writing if I have to pee and it’s a really good scene.” You giggle. They laugh. 

The double doors open and Maria Hill and Nick Fury walk in, you’re relieved to see Alexander is not present. 

Not present yet, a voice in your head warns. 

It takes you back to James’ warning in his car. 

Behind them Sharon rolls in a trolley with iPads. Placing it near the table with Nick and Maria’s placement plaques. 

Nick checks the time and the people present, a non verbal look is shared and Loki takes his place beside Ace. 

Bucky sits next to Loki and your place is next to him. 

The actors playing Doll’s father, then Steve’s father, Doll’s mother is played by Hope Van Dyne, next to her is Dolores and then Steve who smiles at you given that you’re directly opposite him and Dolores opposite to Bucky. 

You wonder who would play Rhys’ boss secretly you hoped it would be Tony Stark because there was no one else in your mind who could replace him. Your mom introduced you to his work and then you absolutely adored him as Sherlock Holmes. 

Steve pulls you out of your thoughts about Tony when his gaze meets your own and he takes off the sunglasses and winks at you. You look down at your hands, Bucky only glares at Steve. The man then winks at him too. 

“Don’t break the iPad.” Loki warns in a whisper, “You can’t unbend it like a fork.” 

Sam snorts but pipes down when Nick Fury throws him a warning look. 

Your gaze shifts behind you, towards Yelena’s empty seat. Taking a quick picture you add the message of missing her to text her. 

“The iPad contains the script loaded onto good notes, we are forgoing paper as part of our new green initiative. The iPads are locked so essentially you are toddlers with access to one app only not allowed to send or receive messages, emails the works.” Maria explains, Sharon begins distributing the iPads to everyone. 

You look up at her as she hands you the iPad, “Thank you.” You whisper. 

She rolls her eyes then plasters a smile handing Bucky his iPad. 

“Thanks.” He begins to unlock it and load the app. 

“You’re very welcome.” Sharon bats her eyelashes, “Anything you need tell me.” 

“Uh,” Bucky shifts in his seat, your eyes shift to his face. 

“Anything.” Sharon emphasises. 

“Sharon some of us are waiting could you not try and flirt?” Ace calls out. 

“Ms. Carter, please get on with the work.” Maria Hill shakes her head disappointed. 

“We have an hour to read the script.” Nick announces and everyone gazes down at the devices. 

The scriptwriters anxiously gaze at everyone especially you. All of your notes on what scenes are important, your annotations everything was laid out for them. They were on your side wanting to preserve everything possible but fit it into the screenplay time. 

Bucky catches it first, the shake of your hands and the nervous fiddling. You’re gnawing at your bottom lip as you read through the script your the furrow in your brow lets him know you’re worried as each line you read has you further descent into nervousness. This was a new take on your work. 

He takes a peek around the room, everyone is invested in the script. He’s almost halfway though given his reading speed. 

Dolores toys with the digital pages but pays attention more to her phone. Loki reads in concentration and Steve rolls his eyes every few lines. 

Ace has a notebook out as they jot down notes of the emotions expected in the scenes. 

The remaining actors diligently read.

Bucky stares at his left palm, it is the only option given you sit to that side. Slowly he reaches out, offering his hand. You look up at him, but he gazes into his own iPad, pretending to read the page but all his attention is on you. 

You take his hand, thumb tapping against his palm and the gloves feel the same as they did in his car. Bucky squeezes your palm, reassurance woven into the action. 

Using your free hands both of you continue to read, each time your anxiety picks up at a scene, he allows you to squeeze, tap, play with his fingers. Squeezing back ever so often to remind you he’s there. 

Your face pales, Bucky’s hand tightens around yours, you take a glance at the page he’s on. You  bring your left hand on his, its the scene of the loss of Rhys’ arm. You both are at the same page. 

You rub circles on the back of his palm. Bucky meets your gaze, blinking back tears. 

“I’m sorry.” Is all you can muster to say in a low tone, he takes deep breaths. 

“Not on you.” He whispers. 

Steve looks across the room, he wonders who did the placement, Bucky and you tucked away in a corner. Loki by Bucky’s side, Ace next to him. Dolores seat next to Steve and the remaining producers in line with them. 

Steve’s gaze follows Bucky’s arm he tilts his head wondering if he’s picturing it but then you look up at Bucky he whispers something to you and you respond making him smile.  

Your eyes move across the room, Steve gives you a smile as you meet his gaze. You return the gesture then look back down at the script. You do catch Dolores’ hand moving towards him.  

Bucky squeezes your hand again as he reads the lines, it’s almost verbatim, they’ve converted the entire scene into a dream sequence that ultimately leads to a PTSD episode which Loki’s character would step in to help him through. 

“Have you both noted the amount of sex scenes?” Loki whispers and then his eyes fall to your hands but he looks back up and you don’t have to wonder about what comes next, Bucky releases your hand. It feels reminiscent of the ‘almost event, some how hurts more. 

“How many are there?” Bucky clenches his fist, he can’t tell you the minuscule space before he completely parted from your hand ached more than letting your hand go. 

Loki’s brows furrow in question, Bucky clenches his jaw. 

“I think eight are there.” He says quietly, Bucky purses his lips closing his eyes. 

He should be mad at the scenes, he should protest but all his mind brings forth is you. You’re next to him and he aches for you. 

You turn your attention back to the script, quickly skimming through it again, there are several sex scenes— the video chat, the immediately post meeting, the rain, the post all the chaos, the car they even threw in a mile high club scene. As well as Loki and Ace have a scene together. 

You internally groan. Why were so many required? The tender moments were there but it felt less intimate in the script. Your mind replays his hand leaving yours, you shake your head as if to physically dismiss the thought. 

You meet the gaze of the scriptwriters and they wait for your approval, you give a slight nod they did surprisingly well though the scenes where Rhys helps Doll see herself, where he talks her down from her own demons, where they slowly go from friends to more is now basically instant attraction. 

You aren’t happy, but you aren’t upset either. It has to be a love story shown within three hours. It has to be fast paced. 

Then your eyes fall to the scene, you pause, your breath halting. Doll’s father and mother, with her observing from far off the abuse. Your hand trembles, flashes of a familiar scene play in front of your eyes. Your throat tightens as his roaring distant voice gets louder to the point where it hurts your ears more than your heart. 

Bucky turns his attention back to you, you’re staring at the iPad, the screen is dimming but you make no attempt to prevent the auto lock. He reaches out tapping the screen the second his hand enters your peripheral you flinch, chair scraping back as you stand. 

The eyes were going to move to you but the doors fly open — Natasha Romanoff enters followed by Yelena. You’re so grateful for the attention being diverted. 

Bucky looks back at you, his had wants to reach out to yours, run his thumb along the edge of your index finger but your curious gaze is fixated on the sisters who’ve walked into the room. Yelena gives you a beaming grin. 

“Everyone please meet your director, the talented, decorated with accolades Natasha Romanoff.” Maria Hill announces, applause greet Natasha as she gives a shy smile walking yo the place at Maria’s side. 

Before she settles in, she turns to you, walking the three foot distance, “I spoke with Yelena before I did with you,” her voice is low so you know this is a conversation that will delve further later, “I will try to do this story justice in the themes that it represents, beyond the love story of two people.” 

“Thank you. I trust you.” You tell her, your words hold a weight and she smiles reaching out to touch your arm give it a small squeeze. 

You sit back down as she returns to her place. 

“Are you alright?” Bucky whispers, you give him a curt nod. You failed to realise this would open the pandora’s box you kept locked away. 

Bucky gnaws at the inside of his cheek, he catches the page number on your iPad opening it on his then it clicks. 

When he looks up at you, you’re nodding his gaze sweeps across to Steve’s side catching him mouthing ‘Are you sure?’ with his brows twisted into that look of feigned concern that Bucky is familiar with a little too well. 

Yelena taps your shoulder motioning to the corner of the room near the refreshments, you gladly leave your place to join her. 

“A little more emotion, Dolores.” Natasha orders not even yelling cut this time, she is fed up.

Nicky Fury has a perpetual look of indifference, Maria Hill could be hiding a migraine and you try to keep a neutral expression. 

“The scene isn’t—,” Dolores begins,

“The scene is fine, you’re not bringing the emotion of seeing the love of your life finally after ages of being separated.” Natasha cuts her off, taking a sip of her water. 

“Again from the beginning, Ace please from the moment of pretending on Nia’s part forgetting the phone, Bucky move off stage then come on once Ace leaves.” She instructs and Bucky scurries off stage, thankful he didn’t have to take off his bionic arm, yet. 

He tries catching your gaze but you seem adamant on avoiding it, he doesn’t understand what changed within moments. 

You look towards Bucky only when his back is towards you, when he turns you look down at the iPad. You aren’t mad at him for dropping your hand, you don’t want to read into anything. Given the articles Yelena showed you.

You’re still in over your head at what Yelena told you. It’s taking everything to focus and Bucky would muddle everything going on in your mind. 

“Do you have any notes?” Natasha leans towards you as the actors take their places. 

“Um,” you look down at the observations you’ve jotted. 

“Hmm, I didn’t think switching their placements would work, she bumped into him walking backwards in the original scene, let’s work with that instead of Doll seeing Rhys instantly.” Natasha reads over the notes, her gaze lifts to Yelena whole gives her look of ‘told you’. 

“Are you sure?” You whisper, worried about over-stepping. 

“I’m 101% sure.” Natasha smiles then turns to the actors explaining what she requires. 

Nick turns to you, his poker face not allowing you to place what his mind is going over. 

You turn back as Ace and Dolores take centre stage. 

“Action!” Natasha calls out. 

Ace laughs, “Okay so what? It doesn’t mean you scream at everyone—oh shit I left my phone, wait for me?” 

Dolores shakes her head, turning to face Ace as they walk to the classroom, “I’m going to wait by the car, you go find that device, and for the record I don’t call you out,”

Bucky steps onto the stage, a soft smile on his face as he gazes at Dolores. You’re almost reminded of how it was in your head when it was a fanfic. 

Dolores takes a few steps more, bumping into Bucky, “Oh I’m so sorry,” she looks up at him, “Rhys.” Dolores looks back towards Ace who whips out their phone a grin on their face as if to say ‘Ta da!!’

Dolores furrows her brows then realisation dawns on her features. 

“Rhys?” She questions turning to face him. 

“Hi Doll.” Bucky smiles, you notice him blinking several times, eyes glazing over, your hands grip the iPad tightly. 

“Rhys you’re—, you’re here?” Dolores looks as if surprised but her voice lacks conviction,

“I think I met you in my dreams once,” Bucky smiles, “But now I’m here.” He sniffles. 

Dolores laughs, leaning up to kiss him. Bucky smiles, meeting her halfway. Flesh arm wrapping around her waist pulling her to him, not using his vibranium arm. 

You don’t pay attention to the twinge in your chest.

“Cut!” Natasha yells, “Much better.” She denotes when they part. Dolores gleams. 

“Though Dolores I want you to work on emoting better.” Natasha tsks, then smiles at Bucky“Bucky a little more awe when you see her in person, a little more wonder, otherwise the remainder of your emotions were good.” 

“Thank you.” Bucky says, his eyes shift to you when you wipe the corner of your eyes. 

Dolores rolls her eyes, Natasha ignores her. 

“Ace I loved it every bit happy scheming best friend.” Natasha praises and Ace grins. 

“Thank you.” They grin. 

You look up, Bucky’s eyes are on you curiosity and worry evident. You always admired how expressive he was in his craft with just his eyes. Just, right now being at the receiving end of his intense gaze, you felt as if the first night you met him, being tugged into the eye of the storm.  

‘I’m okay.’ You mouth, when Natasha touches your arm you break your gaze with him. Bucky swallows, trying to find Loki but his eyes settle on Steve instead who has a knowing grin on his face. 

“Fuck.” Bucky mutters, Steve only grins more, standing as Natasha calls on the scene for Dolores and himself. 

“Now, I know just how important she is to you. You have that look on your face.” Steve pats Bucky’s shoulder as if complementing him.  

“She’s just an asset.” Bucky replies, he tries to keep up an air of nonchalance. 

“Is she, Barnes?” Steve shakes his head in disbelief, moving onto stage. 

Dolores hugs him, chatting away about the scene. Steve allows Bucky to stew in his thoughts. 

“What did he say?” Loki pulls Bucky out of his mind.

“He believes there is something going on… between Y/N and I.” Bucky answers, they are to the side so no one can hear them. 

Loki’s eyes lift to where you were sat, watching Steve and Dolores enact out their scene. 

“Is there? Something?” He gazes back to Bucky. 

“No.” Bucky answers too quickly. 

“Do you hope for there to be something?” He changes the question. 

“I—, I don’t know, Loki.” Bucky sighs. 

“Bucky and Loki, could we have you both on stage? I want you to enact the PTSD episode scene, is that comfortable right now?” Natasha looks towards them, Bucky’s gaze falls to you, you’re gnawing your bottom lip with worry. 

“I’m okay as long as Bucky is fine with it.” Loki answers. 

“Yeah we can do it.” Bucky swallows nodding. It doesn’t ease your worry for him. 

Bucky stands staring off into space, blinking several times to return to the present, flesh hand tracing over his shoulder that used to harbour his left arm. 

He groans, the pang of phantom pain hitting him. He turns, there is an echo of bullets and blasts resounding. His chest rises and falls rapidly. Breath unable to be kept even. 

He steps towards the side table with the water jug, but his step falters, “Please, please, please, save it, save it.” He pleas with someone who isn’t present.

Bucky lands on his knees, hunched over, clawing at his shoulder to feel, “What good is a dead armed soldier? Doc do something!” He wheezes, blue eyes lost. 

“Hey Rhys—, fucking hell.” Loki moves in front of Bucky, “Rhys can you hear me?” 

“The arm, the pain, I can’t—, I can’t feel—,” Bucky hiccups, tears fully falling from his eyes, “I can’t feel anything.”

“Rhys, Rhys its me Levi, you aren’t on the battlefield anymore, try to listen to my voice.” Loki’s own eyes brim with tears. 

“Levi?” Bucky breaks the syllables, eyes in and out of focus,

“Yeah your friend; I’m here. Can you find your way back to here?” Loki questions, gently prying his flesh arm away from his shoulder and holding it. 

Bucky gazes down at the intertwined hands, Loki squeezes in reassurance, “I’ve got you man, I know it hurts, you gotta come out of it, you’re home.” 

Bucky’s breathing evens out slowly, 

“You’re doing good man, that is some good breathing right there.” Loki encourages. 

“Levi?” Bucky looks up locking his eyes with Loki. Finally present after being lost.

“Right here Rhys.” Loki lets go of his breath with relief. Tears streaming down his own face.  

“What the fuck is, ‘that is some good breathing right there?’” Bucky blinks away the tears, bewildered. 

“Fuck you.” Loki rolls his eyes and Bucky laughs, Loki joins him, the former pulling him into a hug. 

“Cut.” Natasha’s voice is thick with emotion, you can’t find your own voice beyond the tears, a clap resounds next to you. 

Loki and Bucky remain kneeling, smiles on their faces at the praise pouring in the small room. 

Maria stands, clapping you join in as does Natasha followed by the rest of the cast. Nick Fury stands when the claps die down. 

“I think we made the right choice with the two of you. Thirty minute break.” He declares walking to the doors. 

Loki helps Bucky up, they move to the side Bucky unbuttons his shirt to fix his arm back into the mounting plate. It does a full circumduction before his shrugs his shoulder. Flexing his elbow and fingers putting his shirt back on and buttoned up.

Then Loki walks towards you, you engulf him in a hug. He appreciates it. Bucky walks towards the two of you slowly, observing.

“That was breathtaking.” You say to the both of them when Loki parts from you from the hug. 

“Thank you.” they speak in unison. 

Ace walks up, “That was brilliant.” 

Loki gives them a tight-lipped smile, you shift towards Bucky’s side to allow Ace space, your shoulder brushes against his, you don’t allow yourself to stop the next movement.

Your pinky finger reaches out to trace the outer border of his left palm. Bucky smiles, it was an innocent way to give a nod towards the hand-holding both of you had begun. He does the same to your palm. You smile.

“Did you think about undergoing military level training to prepare?” Ace questions Bucky,

“I’ve spoken to a few veterans, and my old physical therapist will be re training to balance around without the bionic arm.” He explains, as they nod.

“Y/N, may I steal you away for a bit?” Natasha enquires. 

“By all means.” Ace answers beaming. 

You look back at Bucky, he only smiles at you, your gaze drops to his hand. His opposite thumb traces over the spot where you touched him. 

His gaze falls to your hand as you repeat the same gesture upon your own hands. 

Bucky diverts his attention towards Loki and Ace. He still doesn’t understand why the latter gets on his best friend’s nerves.

You follow Natasha to the corner where Yelena stands as well. She smiles at you, you smile back.

“Alright, let me get down to business, I think you may have seen the articles for Yelena and I meeting, the only reason I agreed to direct is you.” Natasha explains, your jaw drops.

“Me?” You manage to squeak out, she’s an Oscar, Emmy, Everything nominated and won director.

“I read the book, Yelena being your agent was a surprise but I know she sees potential better than the best.” Natasha smiles at her sister.

“Flattery Natalia.” Yelena rolls her eyes.

“Can’t a big sister be proud?” Natasha chuckles when Yelena grumbles in Russain.

“I love you too.” The elder sister only laughs.

You chuckle, emotional displays weren’t Yelena’s forte so you knew her actions speak much clearer for how she feels.

“Now, as executive producer and author your body of work needs to be honoured, I know your hesitancies, even I disagree with some of the cast choices. However I wanted to speak to you about a sort of cameo in the movie? Just as a nod to you?” She seems so hopeful, you look at Yelena.

“Please say yes, small moment, maybe giving Rhys directions to the university or something else.” Yelena adds you chuckle.

Your nod has both sisters squeal and hug you.

Natasha moves away to speak to Nick as he returns, Yelena tugs at your hand.

“Your blue eyed boy is looking here.” She teases, you slowly meet Bucky’s gaze from across the room. The he frowns, his eyes begin to harbour disdain.

The hand is on your lower back before you can react to Bucky. Yelena can’t pull you away quick enough.

“How is my stellar author?” Alexander’s voice has a chill creep up your spine, you turn immediately moving away.

“Mr. Pierce,” You smile.

He gives you a lazy grin, “I hope my absence didn’t cause much trouble.”

“Oh um, I wouldn’t be the best judge of that, I’m sure someone of your caliber can contribute even better so everyone here can learn.” You hope the answer is diplomatic enough.

“Oh you do have a way with your words.” Alexander gleams, you trace the spot Bucky traced his fingers over. 

“Mr. Pierce.” Bucky speaks up, “Missed you here today.” He walks towards the three of you. You take the moment to shift but Alexander looks at you the minute you try to shift.

“How is your mother?” He enquires.

“Getting by… some days are good.” You swallow.

“And your father I hope you spoke to him about the absurd commentary. Defamation suits are very costly.” Alexander only smiles.

“I’ve spoken to him as well.” Yelena adds.

“I hope you have made him acquainted with my legal team.” He questions, she nods. Your brows furrow, when did this occur?

Bucky finally makes his way over, a smile plastered on his face, he gives you a once over. You don’t meet his gaze.

“It is good to see you both well acquainted.” Alexander observes, Bucky chuckles.

“I take time to open up Alexander, you know that. It was a matter of time before I got along.” He says easily, “You know I have to, you of all people know how it is?” 

“If I didn’t i wouldn’t be here, as your boss.” Alexander laughs, Bucky joins him.

Yelena grabs your hand, “Its from the hospital.” she hands you your phone.

“Excuse me.” You whisper, before hastily exiting the room. 

“Absolutely not.” Bucky seethes, this close to upturning the damn table.

“Oh come on Bucky.” Dolores rolls her eyes, “It’s just for PR.” 

“No.” Bucky presses on, Loki rolls his eyes at the absurd notion. This is not required.

“As the best interest is seemed of SHEILD you will do this PR relationship.” Nick presses on, looking at Sam to talk sense into Bucky.

“Why not have Steve and Dolores be PR.” Bucky offers, he doesn’t want this, he has, well, no one at the moment but he does not want the whole thing with the same woman who cheated on him. 

His mind strays to you, still gone, NDAs were already brought out and signed. Yelena, Natasha both are missing as well. 

“I already did my bit of PR under SHEILD’s contracts, face it, it’s your turn.” Steve glares at him.

“Your agent loves throwing you on front pages, also don’t think I don’t know this is because of her instability and recent DUI—,”

“Gentlemen.” Alexander intervenes, “Do as you’re told Bucky or we can bring up all of your contractual binding obligations.”

Bucky knows what that is code for, he grips the table. Sam places a hand on his shoulder.

“When do we need to start?” He mutters through gritted teeth.

“Today, go sneak off to make out, make sure you’re caught by the paps outside.” Alexander waves them off.

Pushing his chair back Bucky moves to the door with an all too excited Dolores on his trail. They take the elevator down. He ignores every attempt she makes to speak. His heart is screaming at him to fight. His brain brings forth the bullshit of Alexander.

The doors open, he inhales then exhales and they make their way as if sneaking away.

Steve hides his grin as you’re right where he wanted you, pacing the parking lot on the phone. It was easy to produce scheduling conflicts when the right connections were known to the private nursing facility you had hired for your mother. 

Your call ends and you catch laughter, you turn towards the sound, curiosity getting the best of you.

Something in your chest breaks when Bucky grasps Dolores’ cheek with his vibranium palm. She smiles up at him, grasping his wrist. Your breath hitches at how eerily similar it is, limbs locked. Bucky’s lips brush over Dolores’ once, twice, he smiles before their lips meet.

Dolores wraps her arm around his neck, kissing Bucky back with equal fervour. 

You look down then, shaking your head and steadying your breath that seems to be moving towards panting. This is not supposed to affect you.

“Heartbreaking isn’t it?” Steve murmurs from behind you, leaning against a car.

“I don’t understand—,” 

“He says and does things that might hold significance only to not reciprocate what might be in your own heart.” Steve cuts you off, eyes moving towards Bucky and Dolores as they laugh. 

“I think you’re reading too much into things, Steve.” You keep your voice even, jaw clenched. 

“I think I’m reading it just right, sweetheart.” Steve steps closer to you, “Is everything alright? I overheard Yelena say it’s the hospital that was getting in touch.” 

You furrow your brows, “The nurse has to leave from home, I need to get back, my dad isn’t going to return till later. If I’m not there its going to be a whole thing,” your palm touches your forehead, ten things swirling in your head. 

Steve pulls you into his embrace cutting off your words. 

“I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for you. How about I take you home and stay there with you and your mom?” He pulls away cupping your cheek with his right hand. 

“Steve I appreciate the offer but you need to be here for—,”

“Sweetheart, if I leave it makes more sense, if an actor isn’t there they have to pause, they’ll go on without you.” Steve plants the seed in your mind. 

You contemplate, then call Yelena. 

“Hey where are you?” She questions, standing near the window. 

“In the parking lot, listen the nurse has to leave so I need to get home do you think they would you know hold off?” You wince when she clicks her tongue. 

“Why is Steve with you? Actually don’t answer, I’m going to go home on your account. Your mom loves me and your dad can’t say shit to me.” She nods knowing it would work. 

“Are you sure?” You wonder again, Steve’s expression carries worry and you give him a reassuring smile. 

“Positive, come back up I’ll get the keys from you, her medicine schedule is on the counter right?” 

“Yeah, thank you so much Yelena.” You grin. 

“Anytime.”

The call disconnects and you recount everything to Steve and he seems genuinely relieved. 

“That is good now you can stay.” He smiles offering his arm to guide you back. You hesitate so he drops his arm. 

“I’ll settle for walking side by side.” He chuckles. 

“Really, you aren’t going to make scathing comments?” You deadpan. 

“I’m hurt.” He clutches his chest then grins. Reaching up to cup your chin then he tilts your head and picks at a small leaf stuck on your head.  

Bucky looks up when the clearance from Sam comes in the form of a text, to find Steve cupping your cheek. His left palm forms a fist.

“Oh come on, Bucky, she’s still going to be your shiny toy.” Dolores giggles, he shoots her a glare.

Steve and you make your way inside, Bucky’s mind whirls as he walks reluctantly in step with Dolores.

They reach the elevators just as you and Steve enter them. 

“Hi Stevie.” Dolores gleams, “Hey Y/N.” 

You have to do a double take, “Hey Dolores.” 

She leans into Bucky’s side you shift, to the side taking support of the wall, eyes downcast.

Bucky’s eyes are on you, then he looks to Steve who smirks and raises a brow in question. Needing to rile Bucky up.

The doors open none of you make a move to exit. The air feels different.

“Come on Bucky—,” “You go on I dropped my wallet.” Bucky tells her and Dolores huffs before moving out.

Your phone begins to ring again and you send a text that you will call back in two minutes.

“I have to take call so I’m heading down again.” You look at Steve he nods, brushing his hand over your arm before leaving.

The doors close again, Bucky turns to face you, “You and Steve?” 

“You and Dolores?” You look up at him, locking your eyes with his, Bucky’s jaw tightens.

“Y/N.”

“James.”

Bucky bites his tongue.

“Please don’t, not with him.” Bucky closes his eyes, then meets your gaze.

“Why do you even care, James? You clearly held back because of Dolores.” You don’t want him to think there is anything between Steve and you, but you can’t fathom his behaviour either.

He takes the two steps to you, your back pressed up against the cold metal of the elevator, Bucky in front of you, his hand on either side of you on the railing. Your hands on his biceps. 

“James…” You breathe, his cologne engulfing you. You close your eyes. You feel his forehead against yours, his own eyes closed.

Bucky can feel your heart hammering, he needs to tell you but he knows eyes and ears are present. Even in the damn elevator.

“Fuck.” He mutters, then moves away to the opposite end. He knows what you will presume. He hates himself for doing this to you. You don’t deserve it, you don’t deserve the heartbreak that follows him. 

The elevator dings, your eyes open, you bite the inside of your cheek.

“You can’t do things like that anymore.” You warn him, he moves toward you yet again. Defiance in his demeanour. 

“I know.” He says, hand reaching out towards your own.

“James.” You say in warning again.

“Feather.” His fingers trace the outer border of your right index finger that harbours the white inked tattoo of a quill.

“I know it’s a quill.” He explains, 

“I know I should keep my distance from you, Feather. You, you deserve much better.”

You swallow, the nickname a raft in the midst of the blue storm.

“Go.” He says, you don’t move,

“Please.” His voice breaks for some reason, your brows furrow.

“James what happened—,” you reach towards his hand. 

“Go, Y/N.” He moves away holding the door open button down.

You step out, before you can turn the doors close and the nurse calls you yet again.

Bucky rests his head against the floor panel. Trying to compose himself.

The queens of six and how they compare to their historical counterparts (2/3)

As much as I love this musical, one thing that has always bothered me is how some of the queens are portrayed, in comparison to their real-life counterparts. In most cases, the changes made are fairly understandable, However some, specifically one queen in particular, have been almost completely re-written in order to fit the show's narrative. For this list, i will be ranking all 6 queens. in 3 separate posts from Most-Least Historically accurate, along with possible reasons for their historical departures.

(Also just to clarify, i am not coming for six in ANY way, shape, or form, this is merely my personal opinoin, others may not agree, but hey ho.) Here we go x --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4: Catherine Parr As with our previous 2 entries, this portrayal of Parr is fairly accurate to history, albeit with some minor liberties being taken by Marlow and Moss (Eg; Having a female paint her portrait.) True to history, she is portrayed as a strong-minded, educated feminist, partially similar to Aragon. My main criticism of this Portrayal would actually be that it doesn't go far enough with these characteristics; the most we see of her characteristics are within a verse of her song, and during a short scene afterwards. In reality, Parr had multiple opportunities to utilize her educated mindset (Eg; her reign as Regent, And her near-execution.) it would of been fantastic for her qualities to of been mentioned more within the show, more specifically, prior to her solo if possible; As-such, we are left with a, while accurate, fairly under-developed character. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3: Jane Seymour I feel as if this is where we begin to cross the barrier between accurate, and fictional, however only slightly, and it is in-fact (partially) not Six's fault.

The Seymour shown within Six, is typically presented as a virtuous, motherly figure, which is only supported by her solo (Heart of stone), and her introduction as the "Only one he truly loved." Whilst this is woefully inaccurate to the real-life Jane, i can understand Six's choice to portray her like this, and I cannot hold them fully accountable either. The sad fact is, this is the image of Seymour that has been pie-shoveled down people's throats since the time of her death. to the point where is has become almost standardized as of Today.

Historically, Seymour was indeed, Mild, mouse-like, and submissive to some degree, however there was also a large degree of independence, and ruthlessness coupled with these, a characteristic which reared it's head on a number of occasions. The most obvious of these, being that she willingly stepped over the corpse another (Anne Boleyn), in order to secure a position of power for herself, and her family. Another, more subtle example of this, can be attributed to her public plea to Henry, for the pardon of a large number of catholic rebels who had recently rose against him, undermining his opinion, and risking herself for her faith alone. Whilst these characteristics do not need to by any means be as dominant as the pre-standardized attributed commonly associated with Seymour, I feel as though it does her real-life self a sense of disservice to simply portray her as the virtuous door-mouse depicted by most.

18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?

I might have to say Asami has probably been the hardest. I feel as though I struggle with getting her across in fics well. Practice makes perfect? 

A close second is probably Lin. Same situation of sometimes being doubtful I get her character down okay, especially in the romantic sense since her romantic life was non-existent in the show. But it’s fun to imagine and I can only hope that it’s not too crazy and she still stays herself in what I write.

The both of them, really.

19. What’s one pairing you want to explore next year?

I cannot limit myself to answering with just one pairing, so I have a few answers haha

Having gotten into writing this past year, there’s still so much I want to try and practice. Definitely with my OTPs, but other random pairings, too. 

To be more daring (to me!) and try other concepts in general is what I’m looking forward to in the next year. 

Conceptually, I want to also get better at writing mature content. Not gonna lie, I find it intimidating, but I need to get past that hump and give it an honest try. 

Within this fandom a pair I want to explore that I haven’t tried yet is Amon/Kuvira. I have an idea, just no words for it yet.

Outside this fandom a pair I want to try is ChubbyBunny (Miruko/Fat Gum) from My Hero Academia. 

And it’s not because I’m in love with the ship name and Miruko is my PFP. Nope, not at all.

27. What do you listen to while writing?

When I’m writing, I’ll have a Youtube video playing in the background as mindless noise and chatter, so I’m not in complete silence. Typically it’s one that I’ve already watched before, so it’s not as though I’m missing anything interesting. 

Did not ask in this question, but I have several go-to songs that I associate with my OTPs. When I’m not actively writing, I like to listen to said songs to get myself in the mindset of the ships and the feelings the song brings out of me. And if I have a fic that’s titled based on a song (i.e. Kiss Me, Kill Me or A Spark in the Dark) I’ll listen to the song multiple times beforehand to get myself mentally ready to start writing the story.

29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?

Don’t make me narrow it down to just one! I’m choosing one per LOK OTP mkay?

Hurts Like Hell

The soft and questioning voice abruptly pulled Asami away from her relaxed state: eyelids snapped open and a shiver ran down her spine. It had been about two years since they last spoke, but the voice calling her name still felt all too familiar. The voice of someone who was so close, yet so far away. Their last words from a time long ago resurfaced in her mind, playing in a loop: Goodbye, Asami. I’ll always love you . Slowly her eyelids fluttered to fixate at a figure several meters away by the opposite side of the lake. Asami’s green eyes sparkled to meet familiar golden ones and her breath caught in her throat.

Loving You Throughout the Years

“Why are you concerned about my legacy for me? You’re worried about what I may need , but I am more than capable of making my own decisions. You think I would be happier if I left you for some random woman to hypothetically have kids with for the sake of a legacy ?” The irritation and frustration at their situation bled through his voice with each subsequent sentence. 

Lin has hardly ever felt so fragile before and she could only let out a shaky breath in response.

He inhaled deeply and after a long pause, slowly exhaled to ease the tension in his features. “The answer is no. I would have thought you had known me better than that, Lin.”

30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?

Probably how much my mind will wander for a fic. I’ll overthink and let my mind go off on random tangents when thinking about a storyline or concept.

There’s this post here that goes off on how writing isn’t always writing. It’s going for a walk, thinking about your characters in the shower, listening to music, talking about concepts with other people, etc. And it was surprising to experience that firsthand for the first time this year and realize how true that actually is.

How much this guy cares.

Someone's getting mistreated? He's backing them up.

A village of oni needs help? He's got it, no questions asked.

Least Favorite Thing About Them?

I'll be the first to say that I would like for him to think on occasion.

The intensity with which he acts on things without reasoning through them gets him into more trouble than not.

I guarantee you that if he actually took things into consideration, he'd have had a bit more success in his life.

He can still do the damn thing, but at least he wouldn't be running in blind.

Itto, Thoma, and Ayato are already a given and pretty much the closet thing to canon but hear me out:

Itto and Bennett.

They would get along so well because Bennett would be like 'oh no my bad luck' and Itto would be like 'that's nonsense because you're like one of the best guys I've met'.

They'd go adventuring too.

ALSO: Itto and Eula. They're not as similar as you'd think, but we already KNOW that Itto wouldn't tolerate people treating Eula bad over something she can't control because he knows all about that.

Itto and Zhongli but I'm already doing something with that one-

You see, the only one I can see for me personally is Itto and Sara, but even then, I'd want them to be friends first.

The dynamics of them both being youkai as well as their own individuals struggling around that identity have so much potential, I'm telling you.

Other than that, I haven't seen any, but I will say that there's a case for Itto and Yoimiya. Just a bit. It's not my favorite, but I see where people are coming from with that one.

So in general, even if you did see me in my Ittosara phase, I'm over it and just want people to be friends with each other I guess.

Unpopular Opinion?

I really don't get why people only see him as an idiot.

He has his moments, sure, but in multiple instances, he's shown an incredible aptitude for reading certain situations and managing to solve the problem as well as gain the respect of others.

There's also the horniness and while I am the last person to bash people for anything of the sort, that seems to be the majority of the content for him.

I like digging deep into characters and really forming attachments to them based on the attributes I see and on occasion, I'm disheartened by the fact that I seem to be the only one who does.

But hey, who else is going to do the work if not me?

Spoiler-free Galactic Starcruiser Review!

Earlier this week I went on the Galactic Starcruiser! I went as someone who is just a genuine fan of Star Wars and also as someone who loves things like conventions and vacations with lots to do. 

I spent my own money on this. As a disclaimer, it is money I HAVE. I’m a doctor with a husband who also makes good money and we have no children. We have disposable income to spend. 

We stayed in a Standard cabin and filled it completely, so we had 5 people to save some money. I paid for 3 of the people, and so spent probably just under $4500 for our portion. Two family members also went and spent $3000 for the two of them. 

The cabin itself felt bigger than I expected it to. It’s SMALL, but they use the space very smartly! The in the wall “bunk beds” are huge and can easily fit full-sized humans. The wall bed is the same. If you’ve stayed in a Disney value resort before, the bunk bed and wall beds are bigger than the wall bed in a value resort. I’d say they can comfortably fit someone up to 6 feet probably, but that would be the absolute max. If you prefer to sleep curled up, they can fit someone even taller. They are spacious and comfortable. Our biggest issue was having 5 people to one bathroom, but we made it work. There are multiple public restrooms as well, and we had that if we ever really needed a bathroom while ours was occupied. 

What you are paying for is essentially a fully immersive 2 day experience surrounded by other people who are just as excited to be there as you. It is an immersive theater show where you are surrounded by actors playing their parts well, and playing a part in the story. If you know what Sleep No More is, think that, but kid friendly, Star Wars, and involving you in the story MUCH more. Included with this is your hotel room, all meals (even a voucher for your excursion to Batuu), a half-day excursion to Batuu with one free alcoholic drink included while there, free water, an exclusive magic band, and a pin. The cafeteria has soda, blue and green milk on tap, water, and juices. On the second day, we discovered specialty coffee drinks (lattes, cappucinos, etc) are also included, you just have to ask. While on Batuu, yes, you can leave Galaxy’s edge to ride other rides if you want to, but you may not want to. We had enough tasks to do that we spent the entire time in Galaxy’s edge. Other than the one alcoholic drink, other alcoholic drinks are not included. We still spent some time at the bar, and the drinks are amazing, and the bartenders are so skilled! They are also all-in for the story, and were so fun to talk to and be around. However, the alcohol is probably one of my gripes, because drinks cost, on average, between $16-20, and I personally think they should adopt cruise policy where drinks are more like $9 given you are already paying so much to be there (and in all actuality, given the price of this experience, I think they should be included, and you should only have to pay gratuity). 

The original characters are interesting and you end up caring about them and their storylines! Without spoiling much, I think it was very smart on their behalf to use mostly original characters. The second a human character that we already know entered the story, it broke my immersion a bit because it wasn’t the actor I associated with the character (but it was STILL such a blast!). They are all-in with the show, and each of them REMEMBERS YOUR NAME! (No genuinely, I’m still impressed by this, after initial meetings I was consistently addressed by name for the rest of the stay). Now, you only get out of this what you put in, so you have to TRY and be involved, but if you do? You get rewarded with a fulfilling story where you feel like you mattered to the narrative.

The entertainment is also amazing. One of the characters is Gaya, and she is an intergalactic superstar. Part of your entertainment is a live show from her and WOW. She really is amazing. The songs are catchy and fun, and I couldn’t restrain myself from dancing at times. You will leave a Gaya fan. 

Ultimately, I think it was worth the money. By this, I mean I don’t regret spending the money. Do I still think Disney is charging more than they should? Yes. But I also think that the theater of it all is worth a lot, so factor that in when you consider what you are paying for. It’s not just deluxe priced star wars hotel, it is so much more than that. I also think you have to know what you are paying for. You don’t have to be a HUGE star wars fan to enjoy it (my sister is not and she LOVED it), but some familiarity will help. You cannot go in expecting a relaxing vacation. We got minimal sleep and were constantly running around. I’d say, total, we got maybe 4 hours of down-time. You have to be willing to be attached to your phone. It functions as your “datapad” and is where most of your missions will come from. You need to be willing to talk to people, as you only really get involved in the story by buying in and talking to the characters. 

But if it sounds up your alley and you were debating whether it’s worth it? Honestly? I’d say go for it. It’s an experience I will never forget.

In the songs, they were called the black knights of the Wall.

But this man had been crookbacked and hideous, and he looked as though he might have lice. If this was what the Night's Watch was truly like, she felt sorry for her bastard half brother, Jon. -Sansa III, aGoT

i find it interesting that sansa’s idealization of the night’s watch is not that far from jon’s initial hopeful idea of it, though for different reasons. sansa does not question their class system and up until her father’s beheading she generally believes all is right with the world. jon hates being constrained by class prejudice but his struggles have made him much more aware of how their class system works than either of his sisters. yet he does not reject it but starts out trying to prove himself within this system. the boy whose hero was daeron the young dragon and who also played at being other kingly, knightly, and lordly legends with robb was not attracted to the night’s watch because it was open to all misfits, down to the lowest of the low. he joined because he thought it was the one place where he could prove his honor and earn glory just as his uncle or any other trueborn stark could. perhaps jon’s too old to think of benjen as “a black knight of the Wall” but that same basic idea could have been what appealed to him in the first place.

from sansa’s side, this reinforces to me that though they are not close, her opinion of jon is a positive one. she won’t forget he doesn’t have the stark name but the implication is she sees him as closer to uncle benjen than yoren, as someone who should be worthy of being a black knight. he may have peasant blood on one side but in the end that noble stark blood still counts more. he is not one of them in the micro sense of exact rank but at the same time she still sees him as one of them in the macro sense of nobility/associates compared to the majority dirty peasant population.

this implication that jon should be a “a [black] knight of the Wall” like in the songs is why i reject the assumption that sansa believes in the stereotype of all bastards being untrustworthy and wicked. i would not go so far as to say sansa was never in the wrong concerning jon. her distance from him because of his bastardy is meant to be a character flaw. but i think this attitude goes too far the other way. (even if sansa thinks being a bastard is not only shameful but that some of them are more prone to wickedness, that doesn’t mean she thought jon was. most prejudiced people make exceptions for the “good ones” in their lives while thinking all the other members of that marginalized group are the real problem, especially those they don’t know at all.)

without derailing this too much to talk about catelyn/jon, i don’t think this stereotype really played into her issues about jon overly much (it was about ned. it was always about ned.), nor do i think she waged a campaign to turn her kids against jon based on the danger of him being wicked and untrustworthy (such that ned would surely notice) rather than more subtly and passive-aggressively reminding them of jon’s difference from them and their own superior status and rights. 

hell, agot sansa’s opinions tend to be so black-and-white that if she thought that badly of jon, i think grrm would clearly tell us. for gods’ sakes this very chapter is probably sansa at her most unlikable, saying arya should marry hodor because they’re both stupid and ugly and that arya should have been killed instead of lady! yet the worst she’s ever said or thought about jon is about his bastard status (something which even robb once screamed in his face about), not about him as a person.

(& fwiw, this is the only time sansa ever thinks of trueborn uncle benjen while jon does get multiple mentions, even if not to the same extent as robb and bran.)

Retro, Stage Name, Change, Besties, and Lyrics for the Infamous MC asks! :3

Retro: What was the first CD they ever bought with their own money? Do they still have it? Do they still like it?

Hadn't really thought about that, but it's probably, like, a greatest hits compilation from Journey or Queen or something like that. 😂 She doesn't still have it, it fell out of her car and got all scratched up. She was more upset than she'd expect over Just A CD.

Stage name: Do they or have they ever had one? How did they choose it? 

Not.. really? She tends to just use Bek for music stuff--no surname--but she doesn't have a stage name.

Change: How has their personality changed since Seven left the band? Are those changes related to Seven leaving?

She gotten more outgoing and vocal about her feelings. She used to be pretty quiet when she wasn't singing and she's sorta come out of her shell. She engages more with the fans, she speaks up more, and she was already a combo of The Leader and The Mom Friend, she got even more serious about it in the years after. It was heavily influenced by Seven leaving, if not entirely as a result of that. Seven was the one who used to nag her into speaking up for herself offstage, so learning to do that on her own without her bff's encouragement was a change that's bc of Seven leaving. As is pushing harder for things she wants; she was against "demoting" Seven to background vocals, they're a TEAM, wtf are you guys on about, but she feels like she didn't push hard enough? Wonders if things maybe would have ended better if she'd stood up for her friend a little more. (I have ex-BFF f!Seven and Bek is definitely trying to repair that friendship. She misses her.)

Engaging more with the fans is just something she needs to do as Pixel Panic gets more popular. She was hesitant at first, but largely enjoys it now, even if she's just in this to make music, not for fame.

Besties: What’s their friendship with Rowan like? What are some things only he knows about them?

Rowan is her lifeline, her (platonic) other half, the one who knows her better than literally anyone, including Seven, bc he got all the guilty rambling and was the sounding board for her changing as a person after Seven left(he picked up the pieces, basically, and helped her glue herself back together). Bek makes sure to very vocal about how much she values him and stands up for him every chance she gets. Yes, this is at least partly bc of her guilt about Seven. Yes, Rowan at least suspects her motivation.

He's the only one to collab with her on multiple songs(the only one who's heard some of them), and even if he'd downplay his role in their creation, she counts it as vital. They bounce ideas and dumb shit off each other all the time. She spent more time at his house than her own in high school. They've slept on each other's couches, bummed clothes off each other(Rowan still has her blue sweatjacket, she know it, no matter how hard he denies). Tease each other like siblings. He's the only one who knows just how much Seven leaving hurt her, he's the only one who knows about the bluebird tattoo high on the inside of her thigh, he’s the only one who knows about her super mega top secret crush on Orion he's the only one who knows she never completely "outgrew" her Taylor Swift phase. (They may have "I'm Only Me When I'm With You" as their ringtone for each other. They say it's an inside joke but that's only half true.)

Lyrics: What are some songs you associate with your character? Any specific lyrics that really scream your character?

Well, Pixel Panic has a very Icon For Hire vibe in my head, so a lot of their stuff would probably fit(Make a Move and Up In Flames especially). Cage On The Ground from Flyleaf, Those Nights from Skillet for her and Rowan(and formerly Seven :))) ) She's still developing so I don't really have any specific lyrics for her yet.

You know something? Transformania did have alot of problems, but one thing it DID do well was what it did with this whole thematic thing I noticed with Drac and fire. There's MULTIPLE references to fire (and burning) throughout the movie series. Often of course associated somehow with the humans or how Drac relates to humanity.

I mean, Martha's death is associated with a fire set by humans. (It's unknown EXACTLY how she was killed, tho.) What is Drac told NOT to do to keep humans away from the hotel? Basically, Anything to do with fire. What draws Johnny to the hotel in the first place? The fire Drac and the zombies accidentally set in trying to scare away Mavis from the human world. Quasi tries to cook Johnny over a fire. Johnny helping Mavis see the sun without burning. (And that's not even counting his firey red hair.) Griffin using fire to spur Frank to try and scare the humans which leads to the humans helping Drac. Drac burning up in the sun to reach Johnny and bring him back. And at the end of movie 1, when Johnny is allowed to stay with Mavis, they shoot off fireworks, something that was forbidden before.

Now, 2 is a bit more subtle about the whole fire thing. But at the low point of Drac trying to turn Dennis into a vamp rather than a human, what happens? They accidentally set fire to Camp Winnipecaca. (To a certain extent, the bit around the campfire singing the sappy songs counts as well) Possessed Kakie, created by Vlad to turn Dennis into a Vamp, also had fire on him as well. Whereas Mavis often takes Dennis out in the sun till the end of the movie. Even Puppy! had Tinkles' destructive antics result in setting the lobby on fire.

In 3 (One of the best in the film series, in my opinion.) the fire comes back full force. ESPECIALLY with Ericka, although Van Helsing uses fire to force Frank to unmask himself and as an old man, he's almost constantly spewing steam from his mechanics. As much as Ericka is associated with water (the opposite of fire and the stuff surrounding the hotel, our character's home and sanctuary), she has at least 3, possibly 5 associations to fire. When Drac zinged with her, she was backed by fireworks. She tried to shoot Drac with a flare gun. The entire tango of death STARTS with Ericka LITERALLY leading Drac through fire. And Ericka's whole association with sunflowers, which, in addition to and because of their association with the sun, are associated with the element of fire. Not only THAT, but Ericka's engagement ring? It's a ruby, also associated with fire. To a certain extent, the whole bit if using a cruise to lure the monsters and using a Kraken to destroy them all ties into it: Water is safety/comfort/love/order/security, fire is risk/danger/hate/chaos/freedom.

Now we come to 4. First of all, you start with Johnny being turned into a literal fire breathing dragon, and many scenes that involve Human!Drac and the sun somehow. And even Johnny's moment of showing Drac how to look at the bright side - and Drac's analogy to how his life was before - involves a burnt marshmallow. You also have Mavis, Drac's daughter and really the last part of Martha he has, going through sun to save Johnny and being AIDED by the both monster and human members of the family so that she doesn't burn up.

Of course, all of this also gets interesting when you consider the fact Drac and Mavis have been implied to be jewish (and possibly Johnny as well.) And while not SUPER overt, Ericka's cross-stake implies the Van Helsings are christian. Something I'm sure was not lost on Sandler OR Genndy, who are both jewish. While not a jew myself (Disclaimer, I am a Christian.) I do know fire has some very specific associations, both good and bad, in jewish culture. 3 that come to mind that particularly apply to the symbolism surrounding fire and the messages in HT is Hannukah candles, the burning bush, and the incinerators used in the holocaust. All of which, I'm sure, inspired Sandler or Genndy or more likely both in the use of this symbolism. At least in part.

Just something I've noticed looking at the series as a whole. It's not something that's made a HUGE deal of in the series and if you're not thinking about it, you might not notice it. It took me a while to realize it myself, and I've been a fan of the series for a while even though my hyperfixation with it is rather recent. But there does seem to be quite a bit of insteresting and wonderfully deep symbolism around how fire is used in this series of films.

Something interesting I noticed in Transformania that makes me wonder if Ericka might have a sensitivity to loud sounds? Both times, Ericka covered her ears when Mavis and later Also Wanda, both of which most likely have more powerful hearing than a human, merely wince. Part of this could be Ericka having more exaggerated acting than most of the animated ladies of the franchise, but as someone with sensory issues MYSELF...

That's fine. Everyone has their preferences.. But I thought I'd let you know if that might have been a story you could have been interested in. Since everyone has different types of stories, plots, themes, ships and character they would prefer reading. Everyone's different.

So I wasn't sure if that would've been something you may have read.

But most - if not all - of the High&Low fans who posted about it, even had accounts for the franchise.. Those accounts are inactive now.

Seems like only, like, what.. Three? Three people are in the fandom at the moment. If there are others, then I don't who those people are. So that might not be that helpful. But I tried. Maybe not a good attempt.

Maybe problem is.. Yes. Sometimes my dreams and fantasies distract me from actually doing any creative hobbies. But my other problem is that I'm most creative about art, reading and writing when I'm actively in that fandom. If I listen to a song, that song in that moment inspires me to want to write a story associated with that song. If I'm watching a show or movie, then I'm most inspired to write a story for that show or movie. Because I rewatched High&Low and Alice In Borderland, so I was inspired because of that. Which is why I'm really obsessively involved in my hobbies like music, shows, movies, and everything else. This is why I'm always fickle about my fandoms.

For me.. That depends on the fandom for me. Sometimes I might a story with one original character with multiple canon characters but not every character though, and other times I would have multiple original characters paired with a canon character - one on one type of relationships. And not every relationship is always romantic either.

And if we're only talking about my High&Low characters specific.. Besides the main original character. Don't include her. I have three, maybe four, other original characters for High&Low mostly because the face claims I have for them are color cordinated. Which was really unintentional on my part. But, because the SWORD gangs are color cordinated, those characters would be connected to those gangs.

The blue character would somehow be associated with Oya, orange character associated with Sannoh, red character with Daruma - just for those three. If I did have the fourth character, she could either be white for Rascals or green for Rude Boys. But part of me thinks that might be too many characters? I don't know. I'll figure out. Maybe.

Did I not message you? In instant message? Because I felt like I did a couple days ago. Maybe I should try messaging again.

it’s a shame there’s not a lot of activity, i thought it would have been a show from the ~back in the day~ when there were people that hung around and made content even years later. like the leverage fandom still went hard for years before the new show started up. sucks that fandoms die out so quickly now since h&l really isn’t that old.

if i had any sway here on tumblr, maybe i could bring it back to some popularity but alas. not a whole lot of followers here at xo.

GOD SAME!! i can think about plots and characters for months but not be able to put any of it down into writing and it sucks! even now, i’m too burnt out to actually do stuff, but my head is rolling with ideas.

i don’t think 3-5 overall characters is too many considering the fact that h&l has such a huge cast of characters. i think it’d be fine all in one fic or as separated oc-focused fics. my oc is mainly connected with oya and daruma (and technically kuryu), but does still interact with the other sword groups.

Haha- talk about pandora’s box. Sure, personally i think the rainbows have multiple meanings -3 meanings to to be exact

1) Rainbows being associated with psychics + Will’s powers plot twist

*We see in the stranger thing novel 'suspicious minds' when overusing powers you may hallucinate rainbows (which are also associated with the void/ monsters in the series) .

Terry: “Spots bloomed behind her eyelids. Every color … as the sunlight turned to rainbows” ( p44-45), “streaks of rainbow appeared (p47)”,“The rainbow stayed with Terry for a long while, but eventually it faded and in its place: darkness. A pit.”(p. 48). 

Alice (who sees visions of the future) : “Snarling, snapping monsters,RAINBOW LIGHTS playing in the air around them” (p. 121).

cough Will being in the upsidedown/being chased by “monsters”. And Joyce communicating with Will  via “rainbow lights.”

The rainbow room (from s2) also has a rainbow on the door- according to the novel kali drew that rainbow. Similar to Will's rainbow drawing. Kali in the book also creates a rainbow allusion with sunflowers (Terry ref).

Kali: “field of yellow sunflowers  grew up around them. A rainbow arcing over the golden tops.” (p. 139).  “He noticed she’d drawn up there, a rainbow with her colored pencils. Maybe he’d suggest that for the playroom” (the rainbow room we see in s2) (p. 298)

I also already talked about how Terry saying "breath, sunflower, rainbow " is actually a reference to s1 Will- here (in link including pic of Will and Terry being told to “breath”.

*El in s3 also thinks of papa, her mother , and the rainbow room- cause she sees a cereal box with a rainbow (on it).

Dustin and susie sing a song from the film adaption of the book "never ending story". Which indicates how Will is subconsciously creating the supernatural creatures & people in the series . Before they sing, we also see  susie is next to a ‘wizard of oz’ posters & she reads & talks to Dustin about the book "wizard of earthsea'. 2 of the 3 examples have  rainbow-related songs (in their film adaptions) & all 3 hint at Will’s powers.

* wizard of earthsea:

It’s about a pre-teen wizard named Ged who has a bowl cut (Will) who casts a powerful spell, but the spell goes awry and instead he releases a shadow creature (by opening a portal between the living & dead- Will is a zombie boy remember?)! The new Archmage, Gensher, describes the shadow as an ancient evil that wishes to possess Ged. But the ‘shadow’ turns out  to be a representation of the darkest aspects of his personality. It’ only when he calls the shadow monster by his own name “Ged”(cough mf=will the wise) does the monster stop acting out. The only way to save the world is for ged to then  merge with the shadow(and for Ged to accept himself-and “become whole”).This also reminds me of the “Jungian shadow” 

* never ending story: 

Bastian ( who has a bowl cut- and is from single parent house hold) subconsciously creates a fantasy world being over run by darkness (symbolizing the loss of hope and dreams). One of the characters he creates is Atreyu (El). Atreyu ( was the child deemed the ‘chosen one). “Atreyu is knocked into the sea of possibilities. There he wakes on the shore of abandoned ruins. And Gmorick (mindflayer) then latches his jaws onto Atreyu’s (El’s) leg.”Pretty much what happened to El.”The Empress in the story later tells Atreyu, that despite being told he was the chosen one (he never was). And that it was always Bastian (Will) who was the chosen one-since his imagination created Fantasia (so he’s the only way to stop the darkness from over -running it).”

Will has mental health issues and  accidentally writes a “story” about the shadow monster (reflecting his tra*ma). Bastian is depressed (over his parent) and subconsciously creates a story about darkness over-running everything. Like how Hopper describes his depression- like a black hole.

 “Written on the pages is the answer to a never ending story” (cough the books susie referenced - are explaining the answer to what’s causing the mindflayer/upsidedown/the lab...this story )

“DREAM a dream. And what you DREAM will be” ( Will’s imagination making his nightmares come true)

“Rhymes that keep their secrets Will unfold behind the clouds.And there upon a RAINBOW Is the answer to a never ending story.”

(the lyric “rhymes that keep their SECRETS” purposely pans to Will both times the song is sung). Because the ‘SECRET’ is -he’s causing everything. And thus he’s the only way to stop it- or they’ll all be stuck in a never-ending story. The only way to stop it is for Will to face his shadow/the mindflayer (aka the other Will) who is always shown within the STORM CLOUDS . Will needs to create a RAINBOW (out of those storm clouds). Like rainbows that show up AFTER a storm.He’d do this by accepting himself , his tra*ma/mental health relating to his dad, and or his gay identity- then the story will be able to end.Dustin even says “ defeat his RAINBOW of DARKNESS” (and later says a “rainbow is the answer ”(to the story). st book:”The RAINBOW stayed with Terry for a long while, but eventually it faded and in its place: DARKNESS. A pit.”AKA: Will has to face his symbolic darkness and the storm/and than create a rainbow from it- for the story to end...

When Dustin says ‘rainbow of darkness’ he talks about my little pony- where one of their friends became a dragon.  in d&d wizards can become dragons &Bastian also summons a dragon with his imagination powers in ‘never ending story’. And Will is associated with dragons: s1he  has dragon comic & drawing, s2 Will has dragon poster in his room + watches his friends play dragon game. And again... dungeons & dragons.

Also tw for s.a/parental ab*se (so skip to ‘wizard of oz’  if you prefer ). In the 4th book of wizard of Eathsea (20 years after the original, where ged was the protagonist). The new main  protagonist - was r*ped and burned by her father as a child (and in the sequel she became a dragon as a form of empowerment ). which goes with my lonnie theory-sadly.

*wizard of oz: 

it’s about a Dorothy creating a mythical world based on people she both likes and dislikes . Dorothy sings in the movie a song about a ‘RAINBOW’ and references ‘DREAMS’ coming true in a mythical land -much like the ‘never ending story’ song (referencing “rainbows”/”dreams” coming to life).

“There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby Somewhere over the RAINBOW, Skies are blue, And the DREAMS that you dare to dream, really do come true...”

We see in s1 Hopper cop-partner calls the lab “emerald city”. Murray in s2 says people “don’t want to look behind the curtain” (to see what’s causing the supernatural -in the film what was literally behind the curtain was a wizard-cough like Will). We also have -lion, tiger, and bear stuffed animals (as a ‘lion, and tigers, and bears-oh my!’ quote )from the film. And David harbor (Hopper) when referencing the s4 rainbow room (quotes the song)  and he also quotes a speech from Dorothy-when posting about the cabin the mindflayer destroyed.

2) Rainbow cups (hinting at Lonnie’s return) 

We see 2 rainbow cups in the series. 

in s2) when Mike & Will are sitting together & saying they’re “crazy together” . This cup next to them says “happy birthday” in rainbow. Later that season- they talk about Will’s birthday-rainbow drawing, Mike&Will meeting & Lonnie leaving. And in s2, we also see in Will’s room a card that says “sorry, I forgot your birthday”(most likely from Lonnie). So both Lonnie & Mike are associated with Will’s bday.

in s3) We see a woman yell “I don’t want her in my house!” (while she sits next to a rainbow cup). reminiscent of Joyce saying to Lonnie “get out of my house”. We also know there are rumors s4 takes place during Will’s birthday & Lonnie’s actor may have been spotted on set.  Along with the fact (it’s pretty much confirmed) Mike will be visiting the Byers in s4. However, the woman (next to the rainbow cup)  also says “2 visitor only. 2!″

THE 2 VISITORS ARE MIKE &LONNIE (for Will’s b day). 

Also, in s3, when El is drinking from cup- she sees a rainbow. And what’s the first word she thinks of? “Papa.”

*And of course if that’s the case -Lonnie (the same guy who called Will h*mophobic sl*rs) will not be supportive of Mike & Will’s “friendship”. And will not be nice to Mike (to say the least). Like... imagine Hopper in s3 - but we know he’s not bluffing and the audience won’t have the option to take it as a joke... and yes the s4 movies hint at that...

3) gay symbolism

First we have Mike wheeler. He in s1 has rainbows sheets, rainbow bedroom blinds , and in his basement there’s a heart propelled by a rainbow. This is like how in s3 Mike kisses El and there is a drawing that says "Mike'. And on the drawing is a heart propelled by a rainbow. I already explained how its symbolic of him trying to be straight/fighting his feelings for Will, but wherever he goes a rainbow still follows (even when he tries being romantic with El). He’s trying to hide his “rainbow heart” by dating  El- why in s3 (the rainbow-heart in his basement) mysteriously disappeared from his room (but a similar symbol follows Mike even when he kisses El). 

Even in s2 when talking about Will (in the AV tech room): Mike is placed in the center of 2 objects : an object with 11 on it & on the right a rainbow apple (this apple is supposed to be an ode to the gay father of computers- but also about the forbidden apple). Hinting at the love triangle of Mike (with El/Will). PLUS, in the ST book ‘worlds turned upsidedown’ they literally show Mike in the AV room- and  put the caption “FALLING IN LOVE- with tech” (and placed rainbow flags next to the caption). And of course we have Mike & Will pose next to the rainbow apple- in the AV room.

 We also see when Mike and Will says they’re “crazy together” (aka LOVE-as Flo stated) and they’re next to a rainbow cup that says Happy birthday .

And later that season they ref the rainbow ship Will drew for his birthday-which Joyce was "proud" of.  And while dancing with a girl (Will according to the script was looking at Mike instead of her) . That girl is wearing a rainbow heart hair pin. This is essentially a parallel to Mike . Will (next to a rainbow heart) is dancing with a girl, but is secretly thinking of Mike. Mike (next to a rainbow heart) is kissing el but secretly thinking of Will (and immediately goes on a movie double date with Will after this). The lyrics of both these scenes indicate they're not happy pretending to be straight. The lyrics for Will are "every smile you fake". And Mike while kissing el is "just a little uncertainty can bring you down" (and during this lyric is when El puts her hands on him-and he removes her hands from him *aka he’s not as confident in the relationship as he pretends to be.

We see in s4 bts that the rainbow heart hair pin (worn by the girl Will dances with) is also worn by nancy while standing next to Robin (who is gay). So being near a  ‘rainbow-heart’ is prob a hint a character is gay. Aka robin & Will & Mike.

In s1 when troy is calling Will h*mophobic sl*rs (in front of Mike) he wears a rainbow shirt. And max while often critiquing m*leven (in s3) (to Mike) often wears rainbow shirts. I talked about how I thought Troy and max subconsciously remind Mike he isn't straight - so they're associated with the rainbow iconography-post here. Like we see Max with rainbow sheets (like Mike) and than she immediately talks to him on the phone. I mean she could be queer- but I lean to that theory at the moment. 

The whole being near rainbows when associating with a queer character makes sense (it’s like a ‘gay-dar”). Similar to Nancy’s hair clip when being near Robin/ that Girl having the same rainbow hair clip when dancing with Will. If we assume this theory than see a pattern with other characters (when speaking about/being near queer coded characters)....

it’s similar to how : When lucas (via subtext) criticizes m*leven- he is also next to a rainbow (in Erica's room). I explained here- why it’s about m*leven.

or when Jonathan says he’s going to hang out with Will (it’s near a rainbow).

This Jonathan moment -Is similar to when Steve ( who has a rainbow bandaid-from the Byers’ house) calls Mike “Nancy” (which is slang for a gay guy)

*another addition: you see in the comments of this post ghostgirlsatin mentioned Dart has a rainbow blanket. But, I noticed a couple of other things. 

notice Dustin says "we have to talk- its about my friend ,Will". As Dustin is near rainbow lights and a rainbow bed sheet. Like how

A) rainbows are associated with the supernatural creatures + Will

B) rainbow lights associated with Will

C) rainbows near straight characters when talking about /near queer characters... similar to how Jonathan is near a rainbow when talking about Will

*also can’t tell if that is a ‘rainbow ship’ poster?

We also see Erica has a sunflower & rainbow drawing in her room... at the moment not sure if its just a random easteregg , foreshadowing something supernatural we're not aware of yet? or just for the m*leven diss?

(although given the fact i think some characters were created by Will- and given all the Max &Billy/Will & jonathan parallels ... the rainbow stuff may be a hint Will created them? I mean they even made a Troy comic just to show his dad is a bully.) But, at the moment, i still lean to (some) characters having rainbow iconography because they’re referring to/are near a queer character.
