"Okay everyone floor is lava in 10..."
children scatter across the in door park.
"9..."
some leap onto nearby benches. Others climb nearby trees.
"8...7..."
the nearby safe spots become too crowded. Some force their way in while others sprint for the only place with enough room for the remaining few. The water fountain.
"6...5..."
the fountain can hold them all but is far. The slow one's won't make it.
"3...2...1..."
Some of the strong ones carry the slowest. their kindness is their downfall.
"FLOOR IS LAVA!!"
the lava takes them.
"Okay everyone on the ground is out!"
*chorus of groaning*
"So we have, 1, 2, 3...8...11...wait. Everyone hold still for a sec." the human recounts the children. And then again. And again.
"Where's Piper?"
"She was running that way!"
"Yeah towards the field!"
"The field? But there's nothing to climb there.."
"Is the floor still lava!?!"
Out in the field is Piper, sitting on top of her other teacher Kim's shoulders.
"Piper your out, you know the rules. You can't ask someone to carry you when the floor is lava."
"I didn't carry her."
"Kim no fibbing. Kids don't like it when it comes to floor is lava."
"No really I didn't. She climbed me," the woman picks the girl off her and put her down "show them Piper."
The 7 year old smiles and goes behind Kim and then starts to climb. Using the adults calves as a step she boosts her other foot to Kim's hip and then latches onto her neck with her arms. From their she shimmies herself onto her teacher's shoulders. All while Kim keeps her arms to her sides.
"...how long has she been able to do this?"
"Since yesterday."
"That's really cool."
"I know, right?"
.
..
...
"Human Kim I'd like to ask you a question about...human children."
"Yeah sure, go ahead."
"So as you know I am courting Morgan, who has 2 children, and I was wondering if it's normal for them at their age to not be able to climb me or him?"
"Climb you?"
"Yes, like that human child with blonde hair. Harrison is about her age yet he can't climb us like she can climb you."
"...Ohhh, yeah that's not a normal thing."
"Really?? But she does it with such ease and you look so, so, used to it. As if it was normal behavior."
"Piper is incredibly flexible and strong for her age, and while yes I am used to it that's because I'm used to kids climbing me while I'm sitting or helping them."
"So human children do climb their caretakers?"
"Yes."
"But Piper's climbing is not normal?"
"...yes. Wait. Hold on...So human children do climb on their family members but most of them can't climb to an adult's shoulders like that without help. Only a few like Piper are strong enough to do that."
"Ah. So I should not be concerned that Morgan's children can't do that?"
"No, you should not."
"Okay then. Humans are strange."
"That they are!"

DP x DC Prompt #37
Jazz knew she always wanted to help people. She just didn't know how to go about it. She had changed majors so frequently, her advisor had a set aside meeting time just for her.
But, eventually, she had found what she wanted to do. How she wanted to help. By being a reporter. She could bring awareness to a variety of issues, investigate things, and help people in a different way. It was perfect.
Now, here she was, her first day on the job at Daily Planet. Shouldn't be too bad, right?

Rise of titans actually made me laugh for so stupid reasons and I wanted to share this with you.
It's insane honestly.
THE PURE LOOK OF HORROR IN STRICKLER'S FACE WHEN JIM FALLS TO HIS DEATH AND THEN-
Barb is like 😯
Mrs. Lake, your son is falling to a cruel and unimaginably painful death and THAT is your reaction? Even you won't be able to fix him up after that, even if you are a good doctor.
Strickler looks so desprately fearful as if it is the worst thing he could ever imagine (it may be) and Barb is like "oh, well, surprised he made it this far"
GIRL THAT’S YOUR SON!!!!! YOUR S-O-N!!!
Where did the worried mother from 3 damn seasons go? Why is she not here.
And before you ask, this is not just an unconventional screenshot, it's the whole shot. (as far as I remember, tbh I refuse to rewatch it more than once)
Like real talk, this is so funny to me.
The difference is insane...(I should stop using that word...but I don't know anything else)
Walter could be used for memes tbh.
I BEG YOU ALL. Make memes as much as you can. Unrelated or related to trollhunters. That would be so funny !!! We need to take over the fandom!

Sooo... I love Ruby Sunday as much as the next tumblr user. But I can't be the only one that's bothered by her not having conflict with the Doctor at all, right?
People keep saying that Ruby and her relationship to the doctor seem underdeveloped, or that they struggle to connect with her. But they can never quite put their finger on why they feel like that.
I think this might be it. We only see her going against what the Doctor is saying once and that sitiuation doesn't lead to any actual conflict, especially because she's dead for most of that episode. And most importantly, we don't see her get mad, we don't see her being wrong, we don't see how their diffrences of opinion shape her and the Doctor as people.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS YES ITS TIME!! Cthulhu AU's Beans is a proud mama!!!!
to anyone who noticed all the little comments about Jack's cat Beans hiding away more often and getting a lil bigger and thought "I wonder if Beans is pregnant" -- CONGRATULATIONS! there's baby beanses now...!!!!! we've been calling them THE BEANITOS while talking about kitten headcanons because I saw this word on a package of chips and lost my mind at how cute it was
A couple extra scribbles and specifics/names/kitten headcanons under the cut; most of these were developed by Mochi and the relevant adoptees:
The lil calico pattern kitten who takes after her mom is Lentils, named by Jack; he'll be keeping her. She is a Vicious Hunter!!! and a bit of a little gremlin
The white kittens are Grace and Gavin! Grace will be adopted and named by Susie, and is the one who keeps stepping on her brother. Gavin is named and adopted by Peter, who talks to him like he's a coworker and his meows are helpful feedback on work. Gavin also might steal ties.
Spark is Joey's name for the little black-and-white tuxedo ("a spark of inspiration"), whom he is DEFINITELY not getting attached to, no way!!! Spark, on the other hand, has absolutely chosen Joey as his Person.
Before picking names for them we just referred to Spark as "wobble kitten" -- the little kitten Joey saved has turned out to have a mild case of Wobbly Cat Syndrome, which means he'll need some extra care and will worry Jack sick -- but it's nice, for once, to have a scare that turns out to be perfectly okay; Spark is a determined lil guy who cannot be stopped!! (if you haven't seen a wobbly cat before, internet cats Breakfast Sandwich and Tumbleweed are real life examples)
And lastly, Quill (named for a writing quill, which fits as the beanitos' tails become more floofy and feathery) is the lil grey tabby, named and adopted by Henry, who brought the kids over to Jack's to see the kittens and was not supposed to come home with one of them but, oops. Most of the beanitos are loud meowmeowmeow kittens but Quill is more quiet and sleepy and just wants to be purring on a lap or a shoulder. She is a good girl but she is VERY pampered.
Bonus: grown up

"You have such great people skill! I am too abrasive, I'm not good at that."
Mate it doesn't exactly come naturally ok. My agoraphobic ass is, by default, spectacularly off-putting, a terrible conversationalist and account of hating having to make conversations, and really abrasive because "why are you still talking" and "so can I stop the conversation like, now?" is always on the tip of my tongue and will jump out of my mouth if I don't clamp down on it.
I think some people naturally have people skills ? But also many just LEARN them, the way you learn any skill. And you can have good people skills without enjoying interacting with people. You can have decent people skills even when conversation and people still does not make sense. You can absolutely bullshit your way into people skills because a lot of it is surface-level interactions that are virtually always the same. Lots of books, workbooks and manuals today will breakdown how to hold a conversation in various environments - and learning how to do it, even if I don't enjoy it and it still makes very little sense to me why we do things that way and it is still stressful and I would much rather NOT do any of it is a LIFESAVER.
What I am saying is, treat "people skills" like "basic cooking skills" or "cleaning skills". It doesn't matter if you don't enjoy it, if you are not interested in digging deeper, if it doesn't come off naturally, if the result is not outstanding, whatever. You just need these basics to get by in life, and it will make your life so much more easier. Getting started in the hardest part, it's intimidating, and you are super aware that you do NOT have the skills that every seems to have. Cooking skills approach: start small, start somewhere, read about it, and go from there.
