yes! her name is octavia but her friends call her vee. she's a year younger than ian (the same age as gabe) and goes to the same school. she's not a queen bee by any definition but she IS decently popular at school and has a pretty active social life, needless to say her relationship with her brother is...strained -_-

That's his baby sister. He would die for her. He truly believes that if push came to shove, he'd kill for her (which is not a sentiment he shares publically)

They actually have a very complex relationship. There's always been issues between them in general, but they still have a very 'us against the world' mentality. So while Biana spent a lot of her childhood being resentful of him and feeling invisible, I think she was also the first person to really see the damage the attention he got (that she didn't) could really do. She thinks he can be arrogant and self absorbed at times, but she knows him too well to see it as anything other than a facade.

Fitz is aware of Biana's childhood resentment, because she made it quite clear. Always complaining about girls only wanting to be her friend to get to him, dad paying more attention to him, her desire to rub it in his face when she manifested earlier than him and got her nexus off sooner etc...

They're both aware of the silent competition that the world placed on them from the beginning. But it's that exact awareness that bonds them, at the same time. They could never hate each other. They could never not understand each other. There's just something personal and unique that you'd only understand about being a Vacker if you are one.

Fitz's inability to make real friends, and Biana being his safe place at school, letting him eat lunch with her and her friends- because she knows how fake people can be. She knows that while Fitz may get more attention, that attention isn't always good. They're a haven for one another. Because when you're that high up, it's not smart to look down, so they just stare at each other, all wobbly smiles and "I know"'s.

Fitz kind of sees Biana as a safe place. Someone who will support and challenge him through thick and thin. She's gotten more integrated in their friend group than he has, and they don't agree on everything-- but if he's feeling really alone, he'll drop his pride and turn to her. He's almost embarrassed of himself in relation to her. She's so smart, and resilient, and adaptable, and part of him resents how she can come out of the fire stronger, while he still feels like he has smoke in his lungs.
