Yet you added, “Even though it’s stressful. How do you do it?”

“It’s not always like that, amor,” He laughed, pressing a kiss to your cheek.

“Would you be willing to attend other matches with me?”

You thought about it for a few minutes. He noticed; he could see the way your eyes looked a few miles ahead of him and your teeth tugged on your bottom lip slightly. The ambiance was electrifying, and even though you didn’t understand much yet, the sentiment of unity and love for the institution was easily transmitted to you.

“Yeah, sure.” You nodded, and before you could say anything else, he was squeezing the life out of you.

“Only said yes because I don’t know if you’ll find tickets for the final.” You let out a strained laugh. At the end of the day, his happiness was your own.

Wow i suck at answering these on time smh. sighhhh, in my defense i procrastinate answering some questions cuz i don't wanna just put together some random stuff and call it a day-

i actually wrote some stuff for some asks before but had to delete it last minute cuz i thought its worth putting more time than that, i guess TvT sorry, im probably taking this too seriously idk.

k so, light envuzi involved too, Uzi is the mediator here, whether u consider her a friend here or their mini toaster in the middle- also there's some of the stuff from my future version where V is safe and sound thankfully. and also maybe some stuff from their past too.

With how N was realizing that V was lying or hiding stuff from him in a constant manner, naturally he grew to grieve the loss of who V USED to be, and with that loss he tried to accept that he has to let her go, because the V he fell in love with was long gone. despite this, when they both started teasing each other over their relationship with Uzi and N started to bite back a bit at Vs behaviors with more self confidence, they grew to form a completely different kind of relationship. Uzi was just having fun seeing them try to win her over lmao; but in the end they kind of started enjoying eachothers company again. Uzi felt happy seeing them get closure for the things they went through and was more than happy to support them through it.

Back at the manor V was fixed up after J and N, she was one of the later drones added to the family, she hardly spent much time at the manor at all before the great yeetening happened- she was originally a maid drone for a family before she was broken and dumped in the drone corpse junkyard. Maid drones are programmed with sweet and soft AIs with more round/short body shapes to have a friendly image in a household, they are made to be able to deal with both adults and kids, and they are best made for cleaning and setting up the house in mind. N was made as a butler/chauffeur before getting broken and yeeted in the junkyard [yes he can drive]. Due to V getting broken for some sort of mistake during work, she was left scarred after her reboot to make any more mistakes, which left her slightly jitter-ish and clumsy. Tessa put N in charge to help her around and although at the beginning V didn't talk much and felt unsure, slowly N became her safe space- especially since Tessas abusive parents remind V alot of her old household. N in turn thought V was always cute, he helped her with her work, having more steady hands, which ended with a lot more hand touching and blushing on both their ends :p

N was the one that suggested glasses for V which Tessa decided to try doing to see if it would help her visual efficiency in any way, and it did. V as a DD often tries to rely on her real eyes rather than look through her main visor, the glasses remind her too much of N...

N and V sometimes used to get out of the manor in secret spots to spend some time away from the chaos to help V calm down. during this time they would read books, learn stuff from each others past lives, and sometimes draw lol, but V just liked watching and listening to N, she felt happy with him. although unlike N, V felt a bit nervous around the animals in the area XD

N and V actually have shared kisses, just not on the lips. with N kissing her on the back of her hand as a gentleman and V giving him kisses on his cheek [Tessa's idea of a cute plan to put them under a mistletoe lol], but Vs last words to N was a promise to give him a kiss before she became comatose. as more drones in the manor stopped working and Ns efficiency and work became less useful to the manors occupants due to him wanting to spend time with V all the time, Louisa and James started becoming more impatient with Tessa's drones, which lead to the whole "get rid of them" line...

back in the current time V is obviously trying to protect N in her own traumatized way; but even then, most of the things she had done to "shelter" N, was probably not the best choice one could make, and some of it was done out of jealousy towards N and Uzi getting closer. However, slowly she started convincing herself that N deserved someone like Uzi. V had convinced herself that she deserves nothing. She was willing to give up everything for N and keep him safe from the beginning, even if it meant knocking N down a few limbs/heads just to keep him away from danger- which is problematic in itself. she made choices based off fear and urgency. she was always traumatized.

When N and V started getting along together a bit more and hanging around a bit in the human cities- V takes N to a bookstore she found once and they spent the whole day in the shelter of the store reading different old books. V still does not admit she did this to see N happy again lol.

When N started showing V affection again, V started becoming heavily touch starved and dependent on him again, just like the manor days, which she feared, which caused a minor set back for a while where she tried to avoid N. Uzi had to come and fix this shit cuz apparently only she can scold 2 dinosaurs without feeling intimidated. after N and V kiss for the first time PROPERLY after the whole solver BS ends, V just gets more touch starved and she hates both N AND Uzi for this lmao.

N and Uzi know that one of the only ways to make V calm down is to act soft with her, occasionally praising her and calling her nice things; even when V is literally threatening to bite their head off- [shes bluffing-.......mostly.]

N is usually the one that initiates any closeness with V. after their first kiss, N does tell her that she's done stuff that he might not be able to casually forgive, but at the same time he has seen her grow, and she does have good in her that he still loves her for.

V has nightmares and hardly ever sleeps, and when she does, its usually cuddling N or Uzi.

V tries to wear her glasses more often in the future. N likes it a lot :"3

V is surprisingly a good mom :p [spoilers for my au lmao bye] but yeah, since her original OS was for a maid, she still has some functions to be good with little ones. she cant help herself, she just really likes babies and kids.

ahh, steven st.one. a wild card in my f/o list. i never thought i'd find myself to like him... i've always tried my best to avoid the pretty boy design after i've gotten older which is why i was oddly in denial during my early steven days hehe... the earliest memory i have of him is just me battling him in my ruby emulator back in the 4th grade - but i don't think i actually remembered him too well, i only thought he looked like a silly anime version of the classical composer be.ethoven and tbh, i still like to think he does look like him in the rse style lolll 💜

for the whole, actual story - it was just last year - i was reading the r/s arc, of course. it was one of those days in school where i had nothing much to do and snuck my phone to read manga to pass some time. at some point, my classmate joined to read with me - it was at this moment where steven debuts properly and it caught my classmate by Surprise. she thought he looked very handsome! to which i teased her... strangely enough, this exchange impacted me? maybe it's because someone acknowledged what i was doing and even bothered to briefly read along with me - so in a way steven kinda bookmarked that memory.

so after that exchange, i just kept on reading. everytime he had something to say, i couldn't help but just stare at his face? he looked nice, i guess? he's also very gentle and polite... i kept this thought of mine for quite sometime until i was discussing the manga arc with my p.okespe mutual and he mentioned him. i somewhat confessed he looked nice and that was the biggest mistake i've ever done because what my friend did after was absolutely blow me with art after art of the pretty rock collector and i was STRUGGLING. it ultimately came down to this one cute panel in the o.ras chapter where he was blushing and I wasn't the same person since then 🚶🚶🚶and funnily enough, i told myself I wasn't going to fall for anyone because of the manga and whoopedoo p.okespe!steven my beloved the greatest man ever. i mean i love the game counterpart as well, they're nearly identical - it's just the manga that totally swept me... sighhhh

steven is such a nice character to begin with, he's honestly a very humble and nice champion. he's not showy about his identity and would rather be alone by himself to indulge in what he wants. he is willing to give up a very respectable position in the po.kemon league just to pursue his interests and with that i see a man not after power and fame but a man who just wants to find joy in what he does even if it demotes him. on top of that, he's just a sweet gentleman. he was raised well of course, and you can see it clearly in his acts in the story. i love him very much for that and who wouldn't want those traits?

i was really absolutely embarrassed to be all over this guy at first - it took a whole month for me to actually share to my blog about how i liked steven and took awhile to adjust to that fact that i opened up about it 😭 but the community was very kind and supportive about the pairing and if i'm being honest, i think stevaide made a super lasting impact on my blog recently and it's really so comforting to picture them as a young loving married couple with ruby. it made me feel unashamed with what i can do with my silly ships. i'm still very glad for the endless support for steven and jaide.

but now that im reading about hanako being a science teacher, one that students are comfortable enough to be asking for advice and career guidance and can genuinely have fun with I'M CRYING AGAIN WAAAAHHG

This is one of Mitski’s songs that start out quiet but gradually ramp up until it’s loud. There’s something a bit different about this one that really makes me connect it to Arthur. Mitski makes use of a droning violin which, at least to me, creates an anxiety-inducing experience. Accompanied by the gradual chaos of the song and how it slowly gets louder, it really creates an interesting sound. The song is reminiscent of the downfall of the Van Der Linde gang, at least to me.

Things had started out simple for the gang, but small things began to snowball, much like the instruments do in the song. The same might be said for Arthur. He starts out a simple person, but through small experiences, he changes, for better or worse depending on your ending. The beauty of Red Dead, at least for me, is that with any character there isn’t really one “thing” that shows their change- rather, it is the culmination of all their actions and words that show it.

Anyway! Lyrical analysis!

Sighhhh. Mitski and her repetition! I would interpret the first two lines (“I get mean when I’m nervous, like a bad dog”) as being Arthur trying to justify his bad behavior. He’s nervous that the people he loves will end up hurt if he isn’t ‘mean’, so he has to go out and commit these crimes. The obvious connection with ‘like a bad dog’ is to the wolf imagery we see with the low honor ending. However, I raise you this: what are dogs most known for? Their loyalty. Who is Arthur loyal to? The gang. He’s loyal to Dutch to an absolute fault. Like a dog, he follows Dutch’s orders, even when Dutch abandons him. With this interpretation, Arthur getting ‘mean’ when he’s nervous could be him going against Dutch because he fears- and ultimately knows- that his plans won’t work out.

I interpret the next three lines (“I want to jump into blue water - And I miss riding horses, I miss running fast”) as Arthur missing when things were simpler. Before the Pinkertons, before Dutch’s plans. This could also be Arthur feeling that he misses his freedom out in the country, where there weren’t so many towns and lawmen.

The second to last line (“I was meant for running fast”) speaks to who Arthur feels he is. He was meant to be an outlaw. This is only exemplified by the next line (“I pretended you were mine, it made me calm babe”). This line speaks to his relationship with Mary Linton. He can pretend to be someone she can be with, but he isn’t. He can dream of a life with her, but he’d never be willing to leave his life behind, so those dreams can never become a reality.

The next two lines (“I am cruel, I am gentle, I can make you laugh”) is kind of a surface level look at Arthur’s character. He’s cruel. He does cruel things, no matter what honor level you have. But he also has the capacity to be gentle. He can make you laugh- he cracks jokes all the time and lightens up an otherwise semi-serious game. But is this all there is to Arthur?

I think not! The next line (“I’ve loved many boys, I’ve loved many girls”) not only cements my headcannon that Arthur is bisexual but also reveals to us that he cares about many people. That’s why he can be cruel. That’s why he cracks jokes. Because he’s a person who loves too much.

The next two lines (“I don’t think about the past, it’s always there anyway - Don’t think about the past, always there anyway”) are very foreboding. During the latter half of the high honor ending, Arthur is essentially trying to undo his past. He’s trying not to think about it and only focusing on what he can do now, not to redeem himself, but to try and do good by the people he’s hurt. This line also works for low honor, since he’s not thinking his past, because it’s ‘always there anyway’. It’s always been a part of him.

Yikes. If you’ve played the game I think you can guess where this is going!

These next few lines (“I will never die”) can be interpreted as Arthur being in denial of his incoming death, but I took it a different way. In the game, we see that Arthur is only afraid of death because he’s going to die without truly having believed in anything. He then realizes, through his last few actions, that his kindness will live on through others. Thus, he will never truly die.

I struggle with these last few lines (“I’ve preemptively blocked all the exits - So I will burn this movie theatre, hey”). I ultimately spun it as Arthur’s final stand, in a way. In the low honor ending, this is him letting his bad behavior consume him. Burning in the movie theatre. In the high honor ending, this is Arthur making sure that everyone in the gang gets out, but going down with the ship himself, blocking all the exits.
