AHHH when I saw your reblog about Luke's view of the brothers and how it goes against everything he was taught about I was DELIGHTED reading through it. It makes me wonder what if there was a situation where Luke has to confront his internal conflict head on? Like imagine a scenario where the person he looks up to (could be another angel) and they expressed their disdain towards the brothers to the point on acting ignorant on WHY they fell in the first place. Its also worth mentioning that Luke used to admire Lucifer even more so than Michael. Falling from grace is one of, if not the worse things that could happen to an angel. It's practically ingrained in his mind that he should avoid doing what the brothers did. But shouldn't an angels' job is to protect? Especially if its their family? Their own kin? It would be so interesting to see him actually having to question his own morals and values, but also depressing when you consider the fact he's still a child and he's forced to come to the realization that everything he believed upon could be a lie 🥲

Yessss!!!! Not to get theological here but I believe love in religion is bound with sacrifice and I feel like that's something Luke will struggle with the most because he is taught he is a creature seeping with boundless benevolence and the Celestial Realm is a place full of paradise but they are restricted by it. You have to act a certain way or you will disappoint everyone. If you go too far, you will fall. If he begins to doubt, will he lose everything? Is he not worthy of the love proclaimed to be offer to everyone and everything when he was acting out of love?

And I guess that's why Simeon tries to ush him away from the Celestial Realm to remove that pressure that he must sacrifice himself from living just to remain perfect in the eyes of others while also pointing out that either realms are not so terrible bad as it seems (Positive the devs are not thinking this deep but even Luke both in nb and obm! openly talks about how much more fun it is being around the others and in the Devildom, even if he is hesitant about it still)

There's so much potential here but it's shame we probably won't see stuff like this at all lol, it would be a nice introspection especially when it's coming from someone who is so in love being an angel and has been sheltered away

As chaotic as the idea seems, eventually they'd learn to work together towards this common goal of theirs. The beginning is sure to be the worst, but also the most crucial. If you play your cards right, perhaps you can walk away the victor?

Imagine: the strong, the powerful, the influential, all wrapped around your finger, all sitting by your feet. With that kind of power backing you, there's no telling what you could be capable of. There would be nothing you couldn't do. Nowhere you cannot go.

This power, however, is an unstable one, it is a fight against the tide, where one wrong move could have you swallowing seawater. Your suitors are as insatiable as they are numerous, and jealousy is an inevitably. If a fight were to break out, you'd plummet to the very bottom of the food chain. No longer the crown, you would instead be nothing but a spoil of war.

Not that harmony is any less dangerous, mind you. Borrowed strength can become shackles in the blink of an eye. With no power of your own, using others is all you can do to survive. You can only hope, then, that your only salvation will not become your downfall.

This balancing act, this tightrope on which you walk is so very lonely. But, with enough perseverance, perhaps you can carve out a place for yourself.

It is unfortunate, then, that any place from which you carve, will never be anything but a hollow hideaway.

You'd think, with the avatars being brothers, that they could work together if the situation called for it.

It only takes about a week of trying to get used to your new arrangement for you to realize just how wrong you were. Even among themselves, you realize, the brothers have their own alliances of sorts. While it's understandable that the twins want to spend time with you and each other, you're still caught off guard by some of the others. It's easy enough to figure out some of their dynamics; Satan and Belphie squeeze closer to you when Lucifer tries to approach, Levi and Mammon, despite their constant arguments, whisk you away from the others to play video games, Asmo is constantly by your side when Lucifer is, clearly fascinated by something you're not aware of.

They don't show the same cooperation when they're all together, and it takes a toll on you. it gets exhausting to be the constant center, to know that everything you did could be taken in different ways. Asmo scowls when you reassure Mammon that he'll always be first in your heart, Lucifer's silent rage rolls off him in waves when you laugh at Satan's plan, Levi refuses to hear out your reasons when you're a few minutes late after being held back by another demon—it feels like you have to constantly think about the possible repercussions of every small action, or suffer the punishment.

At first thought, involving the others, like Solomon or Lord Diavolo, doesn't feel like a good idea. More suitors means more internal competition and more complications for you. But ultimately, it helps out your predicament. There's no denying that all of them are selfish, even Simeon, but they're more level-headed than the brothers at least, and can recognize that this shared arrangement is their best attempt at having you. And nobody would dare refute Barbatos whenever he declares that you've been summoned to spend the weekend at the castle instead; Lord Diavolo, Barbatos, Solomon and SImeon make for far better company than the brothers together.

Trying to manipulate anyone, whether it be to take some semblance of control back or find a way to get out of a situation you don't like, will likely be fruitless. In fact, it comes across as so pathetic and desperate that your lovers will be amused—a far better reaction than the anger that will boil over should they ever feel insulted that you thought you could control them—at the thought of a regular human trying to exploit them, and maybe even play along. Lord Diavolo, in particular, always receives your pitiful attempts with a laugh—though he does remind you that he much prefers if you say what you want from him outright. Mammon and Levi are easier to take advantage of as long as you say the right words in the right way, but if any of the demons are in a bad mood, your efforts will be received with thinly veiled rage and sharp words.

It might occur to you that coaxing just one person to your side, to suffer at the side of one, would be a much better fate than your current one; Solomon, Simeon, or Lord Diavolo being your most likely targets. Even if the brothers wanted to defy them, it would be complicated when considering their powers and status. You can try, acting coy and sweet with Solomon, who finds your coquettish smiles and teasing remarks endearing, and confiding in him your fears about the brothers and their tempers, or you could play into Lord Diavolo's fondness for you, with lingering gazes and disheartened expressions when he had to leave, turning him away with a dejected glance and words about how the brothers wanted you to spend the night at HoL instead, knowing how little opportunities he had to be with you. Simeon, too, was weak to your fond treatment, indulging in the warm smiles and heartfelt conversations you offer and your honeyed voice when you call out his name, consoling you after you get caught up in yet another argument between the brothers. Despite all your efforts, the result is unfavorable. You still have to cozy up to the dangerous figures keeping you here, still have to hide your plot from the brothers, which is hard when Lucifer always seems to know just where you were all day.

Any solace you find in the quiet moments—in Belphie's arms during a nap, in Satan's lap as he reads, lying against Levi and watching the brightly colored screen, resting your head on Lucifer's shoulder, letting Asmo paint your nails, sitting on the cold kitchen floor while Beel rummages through for a late night snack, and holding Mammon close to you, missing the days when it was only you and him together—is fleeting and harder to come by now that they've decided they all want a piece of you.

A Text Conversation Between MC and Solomon

MC: Asmo's acting weird.

Solomon: How so?

MC: Ever since Simeon and Luke arrived at the House, he's been spacing out frequently and looking rather sad, and yet whenever I ask him what's wrong, he brushes me off and quickly changes the topic, trying way too hard to seem upbeat.

Solomon: I see. Perhaps he's homesick.

MC: That's what I'm thinking. He probably doesn't feel right being here in the Devildom. Unfortunately, him returning to the Celestial Realm is out of the question.

Solomon: I can relate to Asmo on a certain level. While I miss the place where I was born sometimes, I've lived too long a life for it to still be recognizable to me. But unlike our demon friend, I'm not sure I want to go back even if it WAS the exact same place I left.

Solomon: The only reason I would is to witness the nature there one last time. It was the sort of place where the earth and the sky seemed to go on forever. The vast meadows, the deep blue sky, the shadows that fell over the valley...it was truly magical.

MC: If circumstances were different, I'd have liked to go visit it with you, but I understand if the memories are too painful to retread.

Solomon: *blushing crow sticker*

Solomon: The last time I was in my hometown was also when I first met Asmo. I'd come back home after being away for several decades, and I decided to pop in a local tavern to grab something to drink. Asmo was sitting at the bar, drunk beyond belief.

MC: Good or bad?

Solomon: ??

MC: Was he having a good time or not?

Solomon: OH!

Solomon: He was rather depressed. Apparently a human he'd been pursuing rejected him, and so he was sobbing uncontrollably. I couldn't help but feel sorry for him, so I tried talking to him. That was a choice I immediately regretted, because once he started talking, he just wouldn't stop, and I hadn't intended on staying at the tavern for very long.

MC: That sounds about right.

Solomon: The good news is that I was able to propose forging a pact with him, and the rest, as they say, is history.

MC: *shocked crow sticker*

Solomon: What?

MC: No wonder this version of Barbatos doesn't like you.

Solomon: Now what's THAT supposed to mean? *angry emoji*

MC: You LITERALLY took advantage of someone while they were drunk!

Solomon: It wasn't like I slept with him!

MC: It doesn't matter, Solomon. You shouldn't have made a pact with him while he was drunk and heartbroken.

Solomon: I didn't think I'd have another chance.

MC: Save your excuses.

Solomon: Well, OBVIOUSLY I wouldn't do that sort of thing now, MC.

MC: Really? *eye roll emoji*

Solomon: Yes, really.

MC: Prove it.

MC's Bad Day Part 2

Here it is, as requested by anon! MC has a bad day and breaks down crying. This time the side characters react! (As always, still not including the three new characters and Luke is purely platonic!)

GN!MC

Warnings: Crying, generally upset MC.

Diavolo

At the end of the day at RAD, you duck into an empty classroom when you feel the tears coming on. Diavolo hears you as he passes by. Is highly distressed when he enters the classroom to find you sobbing into your hands.

Instantly becomes protective. Kneels next to your chair and puts an arm around your shoulders, takes your chin with his other hand. Tell him what is causing your distress, MC. He will take care of it.

You explain that you're just stressed, there really isn't anything that he needs to "take care of." He doesn't accept this answer. Shakes his head and insists that life in the Devildom should not be causing you such levels of stress that you have to hide out in an empty classroom to cry. He will be looking into this.

For now, though, he will hold you close, soothing you as you cry into his shoulder. Escorts you home and tells Lucifer to watch after you before he leaves.

Barbatos

Notices that you're struggling at RAD and invites you to the castle for dinner. It's just you and him since Diavolo had some important meeting to attend. Makes you your favorite foods. Asks you careful questions in an attempt to get you to talk about your feelings. Once you start talking, you realize what he's doing and the thoughtfulness alone unleashes your tears.

Immediately gathers you into his arms. Holds you close to him while petting your head, letting you cry on him. Stays this way until you've let it all out.

Here, MC, he's already made a soothing tea for you. Please drink it, it will make you feel better. You accept the tea and you're not surprised when it does make you feel better.

Barbatos always has this calming presence, so spending time with him really helps you let go. Will give your shoulders a massage if you let him. Insists you stay the night at the castle so he can pamper you further.

Simeon

Picks up on the fact that you're acting a little off and makes a note to visit you at the House of Lamentation later that evening. He knocks at your bedroom door and waits for your response. Asks you directly if you're doing okay. Has his arms around you the moment he sees your bottom lip start to tremble.

You feel safe in his embrace and really let go, crying out everything that was causing you pain. He rocks you and hums softly in your ear.

It's okay, MC. He's here with you. Everybody has bad days. Just remember that this too shall pass. And he will be here to hold you until it does.

Insists you tell him about everything that went wrong that day, so you can process your feelings about it. Listens carefully and gives advice when asked. Keeps you in his arms the entire time as you rest your head on his shoulder.

Solomon

Solomon stays at RAD late to do some magic experimentation, but he overhears someone crying in the empty hallway. Comes out of the classroom to find it's you. Loses his mind. Instantly teleports you to his room in Purgatory Hall where he grips your arms and looks into your eyes.

What happened, MC? Tell him who caused you to hurt like this and he will end them. You're quick to reassure him that it wasn't anyone specific, you were just having a bad day and it caught up to you, that's all.

His expression softens considerably and he knows you just need him to be with you right now. Apologizes for his initial reaction as he wraps you in his arms. He just couldn't stand the thought of someone causing you so much pain.

Once you're feeling better, Solomon distracts you with magic of course. Casts all kinds of beautiful spells and sneaks in one that's meant to make you feel calm, too. You know exactly what he's up to, but watching him do magic makes you happy so you let him do what he likes.

Luke

Invites you over to Purgatory Hall to have tea with him so you can sample his latest attempt at making a cake from a recipe Barbatos taught him. You take one bite of the cake and burst into tears. Luke straight up panics. You blubber to him about how delicious the cake is.

He's confused now. The cake isn't that good, MC! Are you okay?! You tell him not to worry, you just had a really bad day. Eating cake with him was so nice it unlocked all the stress you'd been holding in.

Luke hovers around you for a minute before giving you a hug and telling you that everything is going to work out. Cuts you another slice of cake. Insists that the more cake you eat, the better you'll feel.

You might be someone for whom eating cake does indeed work, but if not you indulge him anyway. Just being around the cute little angel who is clearly so concerned about you makes you feel better.

Hmm, I wonder. 😋 I'll throw these behind a Read More link because the post got a little long. Michael's part is a very short overview of a WIP in my drafts that's literally MC's first visit to the Celestial Realm and how he copes with it. lol

AZRA

His initial interest in MC is mostly superficial at first: their appearance, how MC reacts to his casual flirtations, whether MC tries to flirt back...

He knows that seducing the human exchange student is at the top of the list of things he probably shouldn’t do, but he just can't help himself.

(He’s also eager for literally any excuse to get on Lucifer’s nerves.)

His behaviour and feelings for MC change quickly when he actually spends time talking to them. It's not long before he's absolutely smitten.

ZEE

He doesn't really care about exchange program or its participants, but since it's his job, certain considerations have to be made: what sorts of food or drinks should the club add to the menu, is there anything unsafe for humans they should remove, do they need to hire more security staff while the exchange program runs?

As much as Zee doesn’t want to think about the angels either, any of the exchange students getting hurt at the club would be a disaster. The last thing he needs is Diavolo or worse, Barbatos, getting involved if something happened to the exchange students on club property.

He observes MC the first time they follow the demon brothers to the club. Based on how neglectful they are of MC’s safety and well-being, Zee takes it upon himself to ensure the human remains intact.

He tells himself that whatever happens to MC outside the club isn’t any of their business, but that changes quickly when he realizes MC is even more vulnerable once they leave and that could pose problems too.

KARASU

His primary assignment is analyzing how the exchange students use Devildom technology and how it can be improved.

MC's safety is also a concern, but he hopes knows Mammon is keeping an eye on them so he spends the first week focused primarily on the residents of Purgatory Hall.

Luke spends a lot of time researching demons and demon-like behaviour; his top searches are things like What to do if a demon… or Why are demons so…

Simeon is a technological nightmare that Karasu was not anticipating, and he needs a lot more personalized attention.

When Karasu finally interacts with MC on a more personal level - first through the AI, and then from his own device later as himself - he gets utterly swept away by the prospect of friendship.

TENEBRIS

He knows about the exchange program long before it starts - Diavolo could hardly contain his excitement for this next big step of RAD’s legacy.

Tenebris meets MC completely by accident, and he wasn’t very polite about it, but in his defense he had more important things on his mind at the time.

(He does recall seeing MC’s picture printed in the school’s newspaper later and hopes that he didn’t hurt or scare them too badly.)

If Tenebris suddenly agrees to come to RAD - as a student, of course - he tells anyone who asks that he’s simply curious about it. (It has nothing to do with protecting certain humans from ill-intentioned demons or good-for-nothing sorcerers.)

His watchful eye and cautious friendship with MC doesn’t go unnoticed.

METATRON

He's so excited to have a new human to talk to (that isn't Solomon) that he has to be reminded more than once not to overwhelm them.

He's genuinely curious about MC's life, where they're from and their family and friends and the types of hobbies they like and their interests.

Most of the angels are welcoming, but Meta is like a ray of sunshine that eagerly shows MC all the places in the Celestial Realm he thinks they'd enjoy: the library, his favourite dining hall, the gardens with the nicest flowers and the nicest lake if they want to go swimming.

Of course, he can't monopolize all of MC's free time - and when he eats dinner alone for the first time in nearly a week since their arrival, he realizes he already misses them, just a little bit.

MICHAEL

His feelings about MC and their arrival in the Celestial Realm are...complicated.

He's excited to finally meet them in person, and he's happy that they're as delightful as Luke and Simeon would lead him to believe.

But there's that uncomfortable feeling deep in his heart that he tries to ignore: jealousy, because MC has what he lost. He doesn't blame MC for being themselves, nor does he blame his fallen brothers for growing attached to the human that's helped them with so much. Still, emotions aren't always logical and for a time, it's difficult.

Thankfully, the more time he spends with MC, that jealousy and resentment fades. He appreciates their whimsical nature and kind heart, and he finally understands how a mere human could become as special to Lucifer as he once was.

It's only when MC prepares to leave back to the Devildom, that Michael realizes that he was powerless to resist them as the others were.

Wow, so uh....that new lesson huh?

I have.... thoughts.

Michael is getting a little too...all knowing and omnipresent 👀 I feel like.

Each time, he's spoken to MC without showing himself, and saved them while stuck in the past....but this time he's not...sending them back to their proper time?

Just helping them move?

It's rather strange.

The first time was when Solomon made food and they ate it. They woke up in the past when the boys were angels and we assume it's Michael, speaks to MC in a shinning light, like what happened in 13.

He sends MC back to their time, and tells them the conversations they've had with the boys will stick with them.

But this time...idk seemed different. Maybe it's because of how fresh the war is? But he seemed a lot...more standoffish?

and rather than just, yeeting MC through time and space again--he's just breaking whatever curse is on them so they can move.

Yet he's fully aware of how displaced they are, and that Nightbringer put them there and goes as far as to warn them.

It seems even Barbatos, up until the question of "where did you come from", doesn't realize you're from the future. And his whole ish is time and AUs.

If you choose the future option he cuts you off and makes the assumption your being an ass by referring to the human world as the future as humans see themselves above demons and comments on how it's a typical human answer: arrogant and rude.

I know angels aren't supposed to interfere too much, more to sit back and watch but it makes me wonder: did Michael send them back last time because they were in the Celestial Realm, and he doesn't care as much or isn't as concerned since they're in the Devildom this time?

Also, in his warning he says

And removes the curse of Snow White/Sleeping Beauty from MC.

Is he just curious how things will turn out? Does he not have the power this time to put MC back?

And why is he referring to the Celestial Realm that way? It almost reminds me of Simeon and his disconnect with the CR, speaking about it as if it's not his own decision that would be the call. We know Michael is basically Father's second in command, he's in charge of the CR basically from what we've seen.

Has that changed? Is Father going to be more present in this time? Or is it like the Devildom in the way of, there's a ring of command in the CR and they can over ride Michael if they all agree? Like how it seems the House of Shitlords tried to oppose Diavolo?

Also-- WTF?! Even if he passes everything he may still not be appointed King?!

Not the point of the post but, wtf?!

But yeah, so it seems Michael isn't Nightbringer, but he's aware of NB and what they've done, but isn't interfering too much.

I've had a theory in my head, partly as a joke, that Michael is a blonde, blue eyed Lucifer to be the day to his night (black hair, red eyes) and no one sees the resemblance

But what if Michael is Father in disguise? A way to connect to his creations on another level? He'd still be Omnipresent, powerful etc just in a different skin with his power hidden to pretend to be someone else.

I have no concrete proof to make this a legitimate theory, just a nagging voice in the back of my mind:

1. Michael is in charge, despite everyone fawning over Lucifer when he was an angel.

2. he's so seemingly "all knowing" and powerful.

3. Father has been missing or absent for a long time according to Simeon in the og Obey me (Boogeyman trial)

4. Everyone is terrified of Father, even if their biggest fear isn't of him. (Again, Boogeyman trial. Simeon's and Lucifer's biggest fear was him, when the boys wanted to go with MC to the CR, Lucifer asks if they really think Father would let them in)

5. He was represented in the Boogeyman trial as a bright, particular light, with no physical form. Simeon says "I haven't seen that light in a very long time" or something along those lines. Anytime we'ved talked to "Michael" it's been the same, aside from peeking at his texts.

At any rate, I loved it, loved how it flowed and already marked the calendar for 10-11 more days (should be around the 23rd-24th) so I can pounce when it's released

Angst Lilith: Falling

Lilith is a character that doesn't receive a lot of attention, but for some reason I really like her (even if we know very little about her). So take this angst and fall with her.

When I open again my eyes, I was falling. Some moments before I was near Belphi, fighting; then somethings attacked both, sending us in different directions. Whatever it was, I think it hurt my wings. That why, probably, I'm falling.

As I look up, I see all the clouds that until some time ago was my home. Some distant voices are calling my name, so I try to concentrate in their direction. They are my brothers.

Near them now there are Asmo and Levi. It's impossible don't recognise Asmo splendid face. It's a ray of sunshine, not that somebody expect less form one of the most beautiful angel. The same thing can't be said for Levi. I think he's crying. Actually i think both of them are crying. Twins are indicating in my direction.

My name is becoming a background to the battle. A lot of angels are looking in my direction. I was in the highest level of Celestial Realm, the safest , so now I'm passing through all the other one. For a moment I think I also see Simeon, he was protecting a little boy. I hope that the fact that he covered us for the other doesn't create problems for him. He's second Seraphim that I like.

The more I fall the more I go near the true battle.

In a fraction of second, I'm out of my home. I'm watching the last level of clouds. Probably I also have seen one of the last 2 of my brother. Mammon while was fighting turned his head and saw me falling. Even the angel who he was against stopped from attacking.

Now I'm not seeing anything. My body is becoming more and more eavy. Wings is hurting and ears aren't working: It's getting hard to hear or see anything.

What-... Lucifer ? He's in front of me. He's wings are losing feathers or are becoming black. The strongest light of his halo is fading and blood is coming out from his head. I think horns is coming out. A black rhombus similar to a star is popping in his forehead.

He's always more near, but not enough.

Air is becoming more hot. I'm... probably falling in the Devildom.

I felt a loud blow to my back as I hit the ground. I can't feel anything at all anymore. I keep looking up and five beings are falling from the sky. A sixth being is created in the middle of the air and begins to fall. I keep looking at them, not because I recognize the figures, but because I'm sure they are my brothers, and besides, it's not like I have the strength to turn my head. Only later does my view change, when someone picks me up.

It's Lucifer. He talks to me, I don't understand what he's saying.

I am a failure. I have not been able to accomplish anything in the battle that was started for me. We are at war because I loved a human. My brothers have become demons and it's my fault. I made a big mess. I have lost and I hate losing.

I'm dying and I'm doing it in front of the person I most admire.

In this one-shot I based the structure of the Celestial Realm as the Devildom: several levels. While the lowest is the most important in Devildom, here it is the opposite. For Luke I used the fact that in Nightbringer he is already present and Simeon is canon that he was once a seraphim.

Other than that, Lilith is a character I really care about, so it's likely that I'll do several one-shots about her (not to mention the fact that I have a whole story about her).

Can we talk about Joao possibly joining the team?

I just can't pass his behavior, i understand he wants to leave and that some fans have been disrespectful with him. But did you saw how he behaved while on the bench today? Those are his teammates at least be happy and respectful with them. What is going to happen when Xavi sits him and don't use him as a starter? At this moment almost all the strikers are in a good level and have proven themselves, is he going to put all this brat behavior? I don't see him fitting in the dressing room with those attitudes.

If this season he doesn't get the minutes he wants then is he going to release another statement that he wans to join another club?. And also Roque is on his way, he is going to have the starter position over Joao, there are just to many strikers he's gonna have to "fight" and with what he's been showing lately is going to be a mess in terms of the chemistry.

Ok I definitely HAVE to talk about this. As you all know, Atleti is my second club. But I can’t stand behind this.

First off, this is just my opinion and I’m not saying it’s 100% etc but this is what I think.

Do we need Joao? No. He would be coming in more like a midfielder kind of in that area what Xavi played Pedri for those two matches. Pedri didn’t shine because he was too high up and he does better creating for the top. Joao would come in as that offensive midfielder that Xavi was talking about more than say a 9.

Second … let’s step back. These problems between him and Simeone clearly come from before he came back from the Chelsea loan this season. They’ve been there before he made the comments about coming to Barça. So in that respect I get it him trying to leave. I think it’s bs that basically Simeone has told him he doesn’t count on him, he’s either not called him up for the matches or if he does he sits him down. I too would be frustrated and not just in a “hey I want to play” but in the sense that I feel like there’s so much more behind the scenes that we’re not seeing that have Joao feeling like this. Like he knows he’s trapped in a way.

As a colchonera, I totally get how the fans got mad at him making the Barcelona comments. But again I don’t think he said them out of the blue. There’s so much more that we haven’t seen/don’t know where he thought he could/should make those comments. And unfortunately he now knows you don’t say stuff like that. He could have kept his mouth quiet and made a comment about it once with us.

Maybe it will benefit him to come to a team as young as ours. I love Morata and Griezzman but part of me feels like they (or no player in Atleti for that matter) have tried to talk to him or tried to guide him? He could have that with us.

Now again, I don’t think we NEED him. In a way at this point I feel more like we need to save him because I would hate for him to end up in Saudi.

And I have faith he would buckle up and regain confidence with us. And hopefully I’m not kicking myself in the behind in a few months for giving him this much benefit of the doubt.

diavolo is holding another sleepover, and you’re all crammed into one of his living rooms, sitting in a rough circle, with some on the couches, some in chairs, and some on the floor

you’re on one of the smaller couches, sharing it with solomon and when the sorcerer gets this glint in his eyes you know he had something up his sleeve

“let’s play truth or dare,” he suggests, and though you suspect the game will devolve into chaos, many of the brothers are quickly on board

the game goes a few rounds before solomon calls on you. “mc, truth or dare?”

you balk; the dare will no doubt be something intense and possibly humiliating, but choosing truth would probably be much worse. “dare,” you say, as confidently as you can

solomon grins wickedly. “kiss the prettiest person in this room.”

you gape at him even as various protests are raised around the room.

“no, mc does it or gets punished for chickening out,” solomon insists, and you recall the punishment, which is to buy a dinner next time you’re all out, something your poor wallet really can’t handle.

“i’ll do it,” you say, and a hush falls over the room as they all wait for you to pick.

satan raises an eyebrow in surprise when he sees you accept the dare. he was sure you’d chicken out, so to see you challenge solomon so boldly, well, it’s interesting.

around him, everyone stiffens, wondering who you’ll pick. satan won’t lie- he’s no different. will you choose him?

it’s unlikely, but not impossible. no, it’s almost certain you’ll pick either asmo, mammon, or lucifer. although, he wouldn’t be surprised by simeon either. he watches you look around the room, mentally gauging all of the candidates, and though his insides burn when your gaze lingers on lucifer, he forces himself to behave.

when your eyes stop on him he suppresses a jolt, oddly feeling like cornered prey. as he’d thought, unlikely but not impossible. you make your way over to him, holding out your hand.

“can i kiss you?”

satan takes it, and you pull him up. his hands find your waist, and he steadies himself, ignoring the heat trailing down his neck where he’s surely blushing. “of course.”

you waste no time, leaning in and giving him a perfectly nice kiss, somehow managing to sate his appetite and leave him wanting much, much more at the same time. you pull away first, and satan doesn’t chase you, but he does hold your gaze for a moment too long, making it clear that this isn’t over. instead of backing down, you give him a little wink, returning to your seat without so much as a backward glance. he can’t wait for the game to be over so he can get you alone.

asmo taps his chin, lips curving upward. “you’re going to kiss me, right mc?” he asks coyly. “i mean, of course i’m the only choice.”

“you think you’re the prettiest in my eyes?” you question, and asmo holds his ground, laughing easily even as everything inside of him begs you not to contradict him.

“well, of course,” he trills. “we are talking about me here~”

“i suppose you’re right,” you say, beckoning him over. the gall you have, to make him come to you, but asmo supposes he doesn't really mind. it is you, after all. he waits in front of you, glad he’d applied scented chapstick only a few moments ago.

you gently take his wrist, pulling him down to your level. “of course you’re the prettiest,” you whisper, only to him, breath fanning over the shell of his ear. “you are my asmodeus, after all.”

he needs to hide the boneless relief the words give him, so he moves your chin from his ear to his face, watching how your lashes flutter. you kiss him, and asmo can’t remember the last time he’d had such a kiss, so pure and chaste and utterly perfect.

someone calls for the two of your to break it up after a moment, and you pull back, leaving him stunned. “was that good enough for you?” you take your turn to be coy, as if you can’t see the effect you have on him.

“i suppose,” asmo says after a moment. “but it can’t hurt to reinforce is just to make sure.”

you laugh, pushing him away softly, but before the sting of rejection can hit him, you smile, promising, “later.”

beel is only half-paying attention to the game, but when he hears the word ‘kiss’ he pauses, looking over at you. you don’t shy away from solomon in the slightest, accepting his dare sweetly, and beel can’t resist a smile. that’s just like you, after all.

beel doesn’t really have any expectations. he knows he’s good-looking, knows that some people at rad have liked him, but he’s never been called pretty. this dare isn’t meant for him, which is fine.

but you seem to disagree, locking eyes with him and sending him a silent question. beel tilts his head. you can’t seriously be considering him, now can you?

confused, he ducks his head yes, and you grin, jumping up. he watches you approach, skin buzzing. he still can’t beelive it. why, out of everyone, did you pick him?

“hey,” you say, a little awkwardly, rubbing the back of your neck. “you sure you’re okay with this? i won’t want to make you uncomfortable.”

it hits him completely then- you want to kiss him! as in, your lips touching his.

“i’m good,” beel says, mouth sticky, and he desperately thinks of the last thing he ate, glad it was one of barbatos’ desserts, and not like hellfire newt soup or something you weren’t a fan of.

“okay,” you lean down over him, “here i go, then.”

he instinctively grabs onto you, holding onto your shoulders. your mouth is warm on his, and when you pull back, beel knows he’s probably bright red. the game moves on after a few minutes of ribbing and teasing, but beel can hardly focus, getting lost in the memory of your skin under his palms, the softness of your lips.

belphie narrows his eyes as he takes in solomon’s dare. just what is this sorcerer playing at? you accept, as he suspected you would, and your eyes flit around the room, studying everyone for a brief moment.

“belphie,” you say, but it’s almost an order, as belphie instinctively moves towards you, sliding across the floor until he’s at your feet, looking up into your eyes. you place a hand under his chin, gently forcing his head even further up, and he moves under your fingers easily, letting you arrange him as you wish.

vicious satisfaction runs through him when he thinks of what his brothers must be feeling, especially lucifer. and diavolo doubtlessly was jealous too. heh, as he should be.

you kiss him without preamble, leaning down, and belphie relishes in the moment, short as it is. his arms go up to you, holding you closer to him, and you don’t seem to mind. it’s only when the cries of outage from the peanut gallery reach their fervor pitch does he pull back, bracing a hand against the floor to keep himself steady. you look as affected as he feels, eyes wide and bright, but your hand is steady where it still holds his chin.

“thank you,” you say, releasing him, and belphie feels oddly like a servant at his master’s feet, used on a whim. but if that’s where you want him, then that’s where he’ll happily be, as long as it means he can be close to you.

Lucifer: Limousine

It's elegant, it screams sophistication, and it makes people think he's someone important, which he is.

He can drink some demonus in the back and not have to worry about getting anywhere. Sometimes, he'll just tell the driver to drive around so he doesn't have to go to an event or back home right away.

Don't tell him they're also associated with annoying kids for prom

It's also big enough to where he can pick up his brothers if there's something going on

Mammon: Sports Car

He likes driving any sports car, really. Though, his own car will always be his favorite.

He likes how expensive they are, how they look, and how fast they can go.

He never really makes his own car go fast, he's scared that all of his hard work will go up in flames if he wrecks it.

Will still rent a sports car every now and then to show off

Leviathan: Boat

He likes being out on the water and boats are typically not as crowded as other methods of transportation.

He also feels like that if it is crowded and if he gets overwhelmed, he can escape on all sides of the boat.

He shouldn't, he knows that, but the option's always there if he really gets desperate

He can also secretly have Lotan swim alongside the boat if the water's deep/dark enough.

Satan: Aerial Tramways

He doesn't know why, but being up high is appealing. He likes being able to see around a large area and see what's going on.

Perhaps it's because he doesn't have wings that he appreciates this more than his other brothers.

He also likes that Lucifer is uncomfortable being in high places when he's not in control of it.

Will hold that over Lucifer for a very long time.

Asmodeus: Double Decker Bus

He likes being able to sightsee on these buses and people watch more easily than on other methods of transportation.

They usually drive by some cool places, which is always great for a selfie

He gets that natural windblown look, too.

If he gets cold or if the weather turns, he can go to the lower level, no problem

Beelzebub: Party Bike

He likes the aspect of being able to exercise while he's being transported from one location to the next. In fact, for this, he can give the bike enough power so he can be the only passenger on it.

He can also eat all of the food and drink all of the drinks as the only passenger, too

He does like it when his family joins him, it's more fun

The only downside is that the party bike never has enough food for him.

Belphegor: Being Carried Around

He likes just falling asleep everywhere he goes. If someone's carrying him, he doesn't have to worry about missing his stop. They'll take him where he needs to go

It's nice, too, because he knows that his family does actually care for him and doesn't just tolerate him

He will try to be annoying about it and just suddenly put all of his weight on someone until they are forced to at least drag him somewhere

Diavolo: Walking

He likes to walk around his kingdom to see how things are going and check in on his people.

It's nice that he has this freedom now after being locked up as a child in his castle.

He does tend to wander while he's walking around, so he has to keep track of the twists and turns he takes

He has had to call either Lucifer or Barbatos to come and find him - He knows he could use his GPS, but he wants to show them what he found.

Barbatos: Train

He enjoys being able to sit by a window on a train and just relax

He can finally tune out and not worry about the next task at hand - that'll occur when he gets to his next stop.

He can take time to do some hobbies if he wishes: knitting, reading, sipping a cup of tea, whatever he pleases

He does also enjoy sampling different foods on the dining carts for the more upscale trains

Simeon: Funiculars

A lot of forms of transportation have buttons that he can't ever figure out. For a funicular, there's not much for him to do except get on and just relax

He likes that they usually provide a unique view while still being on the ground

The very steep ones are also very exciting and he thinks that they should be impossible - but there they are

Luke: Unicycle

It took him a lot of practice to get good enough to try it

Mammon was the one that had first helped him with it. He would never admit it, but it was fun

Now he enjoys the praise he gets from others when he's able to get around with no problem

Makes him taller, too. The others can't call him short when he's riding it

Solomon: Subway

It's not necessarily the subway that he enjoys, but rather the subway station

There are also such a vast variety of people that take the subway and he likes to watch them

Sometimes he'll hustle with some low-key magic tricks that could be considered just trick of the eye - it's real magic, shhh

It's a reminder that he loves how chaotic people can be

In season 4, do you think Mammon fell out of love with the MC or are the devs desperately trying to make him unlikable?

Here's why Mammon's gone back to his more tsundere personality in S4

Regressing to a phase where you feel protected, when you no longer feel secure/when things are unstable is normal

And we know the brothers are all feeling the effects of the new characters because the twins already brought it up and those effects were strong enough to piss off both Belphie and Beel

While we haven't had as many Mammon moments in S4 as we have had in the previous seasons (understandable because they need to set up 3 new characters) I'm not sure how they can be seen as him falling out of love with MC or as being unlikeable because the devs have had to compensate the lack of Mammon by making every appearance of his pure gold :

1. He's back to being a S1 level tsundere when he meets MC again ^ which the above link talks about

2. He's been sneaking downstairs, multiple times, to read MC's letters when he thinks no one is there

3. When he & Levi temporarily semi switch personalities and a lot of his insecurities come out (link)

4. The first moment he showed romantic/sexual interest in a canonical male character (link)

5. The reason he showed that interest is because that character reminded him of MC

6. He describes MC's personality as "fiery with an occasional cute side"

7. Holds hands with MC while walking around RAD

8. Reassures MC after Mephisto is being (a racist) little bitch (link)

9. Despite being the least violent of the brothers, he's immediately ready to throw hands with anyone who doesn't like MC/approve of them joining the Council because they're human (link) (link)

10. Throws his whole back into finding the card for MC (dude was on the fucking roof) (link)

Hello! I'm sorry if you already talked about this. Lately I've been wondering how does an Angel become a "Fallen Angel". Does it really need to actually fall from the heavens? (XD) I really want to know what you think because in the game Simeon sometimes show his mischievous side, and it got me wondering that question. Maybe it is decided by their father? If so then it would be boring (for me, but kinda acceptable I guess). Feel free to ignore!

Haha while it's a funny thought, no, an angel doesn't have to literally physically get booted from the heavens to fall. Lucifer technically didn't "fall" as an angel until after arriving in the Devildom, having flown down there after Lilith's falling body, so we can say that for sure.

And we've covered Simeon and his mischievousness previously in his character study, but in terms of falling, that's not likely much of a factor either, if we're being honest. Mammon, from what's been described, was just about as chaotic and unruly as an angel as he is now as a demon, with examples such as ordering around the angel army for fun as a game of "angel chess". So just being mischievous, especially in the much milder forms Simeon has often shown by comparison, is also not likely to impact an angel's falling.

Disappointing of an answer as it may be, we do see it as a decision determined entirely by their father, but we would argue that this actually makes it more interesting! Though on the surface, this might seem boring, we actually think it adds a huge source of tension in where Simeon's character is headed -- there's no clear, simple line that he can look at as a "do not cross" point, so anything can be a potential cause of his fall.

That means that every time he expresses something out of line, such as back-talking Michael or even just showing self-doubt in being an angel, there is a real risk to it. When his entire existence as he's known it is subject to the whims of what, at least so far, seems to be an unforgiving, unappealable figure, any little thing can be the thing that makes him fall. And at the end of season 3, it's implied that his father, that very same figure, is his greatest fear.

As it stands, he was already demoted from seraph, which is the top of the top, to the much lower level of archangel, such that he refers to himself as a "low-level grunt" now. There's hardly much further he even could fall from grace without, well, actually falling. Yet even so, he'll take a stand for what he sees as right if he thinks the situation calls for it. That speaks volumes about his character, in a way that wouldn't be possible if not for the fact that he can't know for sure where the line is. So while we do see falling as a decision that is just made unilaterally by their father, we don't think it's boring at all!

Hello! So like... I saw your two posts about MC being jealous of Asmo's relationship with Solomon and it got me thinking? Because I've been thinking about the same thing though with MC's relationships with everyone in the cast because they're literally the only mortal around that circle and are probably aware of how their existence is a mere speak in the universe in the grand total of their inordinary loved ones' lives

I also hc Sol's relationship with Asmo to be a lot like how you see it + the additional hcs that--

- he doesn't actually open up to any of his pacted demons and that most of anyone who isn't human is kept at a certain distance from him emotionally bc of his self-placed responsibility as the protector of humanity (based off of what I've seen of him in main story + his views on demons and pacts as per his bday UR? Though I wanna say that I do think he trusts Simeon and opens up to him more than he does to any demon though, very touched about him missing the angels in the circus event ;w;)

- the trust he places on his apprentice is like no other and it's a mutual trust in each other. So Sol is willing to actually be open and honest with MC in ways he wouldn't be with anyone else (this is also lowkey me indulging in the The One fantasy too but he says it himself in cards and events that he fully trusts them and he can be himself with them so-)

All that to say, I think if MC is comfortable enough to even open up to Solomon about that insecurity of theirs, they're at That point in the relationship already (be it platonic or romantic) where they can have a sincere and honest talk about it? Because unlike Asmo, MC is human and there are just some things that demons can never understand from the human experience and vice versa. And also that the two do have a bond that formed and evolved in a way that his relationship with Asmo absolutely did not follow. Like MC's special in their own way too and while it might be a bit hard to convey, I think he can do it for them? If not through words then time and action. And tbh I do think Solomon would kind of gently throw Asmo under the bus if needed but like in a nicer way because his beloved apprentice needs the comfort, even more so if Sol actually wants to pursue a relationship with MC, even if MC said they didn't want anything to come out of their conversation >.> He was willing to put the three realms in danger because he didn't want to upset them so doing that to Asmo doesn't seem that far fetched to me? HOWEVER his relationship with his pacts is super interesting because he's so cautious and walled off, less so but even with Barbatos, that it seems like Asmo is the only exception. And Asmo plays it up so that it just SEEMS like they're super close. But perhaps more interesting (to me) is Asmo playing it up and feeling as if Solomon would take him up on all his offers if he wasn't such a stick in the mud because obviously he would - who would pass up flirtations offered by The Avatar of Lust, Asmodeus himself? So perhaps even Asmo being held at arm's length without even realizing it is more possible than I thought. Before MC he didn't really let others get much of a word in lol!

in my last post about this that wasn't an ask i said devotion and i really think that is the term I was looking for. The longer I've hovered in this fandom and the less I've tried to please others to fit in (thought i'm not saying i'm really breaking any norms here bc i'm not lol) the more i've distanced myself from casual relationship all the time solomon to severely lonely and reclusive solomon. Definitely thinks you're a badass at first, so when you turn out to be a real sweetheart, he's enchanted. You have so many tattoos that you lost count, but you're also the nicest guy he's ever met? He's fascinated by you. What a surprise you are, MC!

He is incredibly curious about your tattoos. Wants to know all about your pain tolerance levels. Wants to know everything about each tattoo. Give him a tattoo tour and he'll be so happy. Tell him about the circumstances in which you got them. Planned out for a while? Spur of the moment? Tell him everything!

He wants to see them all, so depending on their locations you may have to remove some clothing. He won't pressure you to do this if it makes you uncomfortable. But if you're okay with it, go ahead and reveal some skin. He'll be happy that you're comfortable enough to do that for him.

Diavolo won't be able to stop himself from touching one of your tattoos. Starts out by brushing his fingertips across one that's on your arm or your neck. If you have a chest tattoo, he will want nothing more than to trace it. Give him permission and he'll kiss every single one.

Barbatos

Not as quick to judge someone by how they look, but still aware of the fact that you must have a decent amount of patience if you have sat for that many tattoos. He's certainly curious, but he's not likely to ask you about it. Not at first, anyway. But you will notice how his eyes roam across the ones that he can see peeking out from your clothing. He can't hide the fact that he's thinking about it.

After he gets to know you a little bit and has discovered how kind you are, he will find a quiet moment to ask you about them. If you've already brought it up yourself, he will take that as an invitation to ask more questions. He wants to know what they are and what they mean to you.

He won't ask to see them all. Barbatos likes being mysterious, but he likes to be the one in the dark sometimes, too. Leave him wondering about just how many you have and where they all are. Depending on how close you are with him, let him find them for himself.

If you really want to fluster him, ask him to design your next tattoo. It's not something he would have thought to offer himself, but now that you've asked… what an honor it would be for him, MC. He'll take the time to create something that is a true reflection of his feelings for you.

Simeon

Oh, MC, you're like a walking work of art. He loves your tattoos, but he won't make a big fuss about it. He'll definitely ask you about them as soon as he gets a chance. Considering your sweet personality, he finds himself comfortable with you right away. Invites you over so he can make you something delicious and ask you a bunch of questions about your tattoos.

He wants to know about the artists involved. He doesn't know much about how tattoos work and he's curious about the process. Asks you a bunch of questions about the designs, wants to know about any tattoo-related history you might know, and of course the method. Listens carefully about the ink and the needles. Now he's amazed by the fact that you were able to deal with that level of pain.

He does want to see them all, but he won't ask. Show him as many of your tattoos as you like. It isn't that he's not comfortable asking - he knows you wouldn't mind if he did. But he wants to wait until you choose to show him.

Absolutely has a hard time not touching them. Does it in a subtle sort of way, hoping you won't catch onto him. Simeon will put his hand on your arm casually, but he'll be looking at your tattoos before pulling away. You can still tell. Make him blush by taking his hand and putting it on one of your tattoos deliberately. Likely he won't be able to resist kissing you.

Solomon

He has pact marks, but he knows it's not the same. Pact marks appear by magic, he didn't have to sit through anything involving ink and needles. Due to the fact that he knows all about how tattoos are done, he's impressed. He knows about the patience and pain tolerance required. He also starts out thinking you must be pretty badass, but doesn't say anything about it.

Imagine his surprise when you turn out to be incredibly sweet instead of the rough guy he was expecting. This completely delights him. He's intrigued by you, to say the least. And now he wants to know the reasons behind your tattoos. Just wants to get to know you better, so asks you all about them.

Solomon will absolutely use magic to do some stuff with your tattoos. Knows spells to make them come to life and spells to make them change colors. He also knows spells to remove them, should you ever decide you no longer want one. He won't do any spells without your permission, but if you say it's okay, he's going to try all kinds of things.

Makes a special ink for you. Gets a little blushy about giving it to you. Only use it if you want to, MC. You know, if you're thinking about getting a new tattoo any time soon. The ink has magic in it, of course. Ask him what it does and he might get a little evasive, but he'll eventually tell you that it has a protection spell in it. He likes the idea of his magic protecting you even if he's not physically with you. If you use the ink, he'll be thrilled. He'll always touch that tattoo when he can to remind you how much he cares about you.

Luke

He's afraid of you at first. He's heard about scary humans with tattoos. But he'll get over this fear as soon as he realizes how nice you are. In the end, you two get along really well. And once he's comfortable with you, he'll ask you about them.

Might even straight up ask why you're not scary. He thought humans with tattoos were supposed to be scary? Explain to him that you can't judge someone based on their tattoos. Luke listens and nods seriously. He gets it. You're proof of that, after all.

Asks you a million questions about how it works. Grimaces at the thought of being poked with needles like that. Thinks you're incredibly brave for having all of that done to you. He doesn't think he could do it at all. His respect for you has increased.

Invites you over so he can make cookies that look like your tattoos. What an inspiration you are for his cookie designs, MC! Might get ambitious and decorate a whole cake with tattoo-inspired designs. Show him some traditional tattoo styles from the human world that are different from what you already have and he'll go crazy using them all in his baking.

i find that using multiple forms of symbolism to inspire character creation, especially if you take inspiration from animals, makes workshopping feel so much more effortless? too much of it can cause one to spiral and lose sight of who their oc is when they direct their focus molding them into the symbols rather than the other way around. like you, i think it's just so much more easier to let things be instead of forcing myself to fit a status quo.

tbh with you i didn't even mind that you didn't stick with the assignment of only explaining dola's feelings! as someone who is notorious for being able to shamelessly lore dump and engage in oc conversation up to 7 hours on and off it makes me feel a lot more relieved knowing that other people are willing to go above and beyond the assignment they were given 😭 (/pos).

back to our beautiful dolasach! the way mc is presented in-game sends sickening chills down my ribs and forms a tight knot in my stomach, so whenever i see issues rising between other mcs and the obm cast i get really giddy! it says so much about them, from how they choose to behave or respond, to how much they choose to say . . . aaa what a dream come true <3 and it's exceptionally rare to find a mc like yours and i mean that sincerely. it's not often you see an author dive into the ugly parts of a character and still make it not inherently beautiful, but rather make it feel bittersweet.

and i really adore how you mention immortality because a while ago i went on a “what does immortality mean for immortals but specifically solomon because i said so and not in the way where he grieves but in the way where his traits have over-ripened and his relationship to trauma has become over-developed” spiel and it reminded me of something i wrote so [gently hands you this]

also i took a peek at your TEDthought of dolasach's name and all i can say is that hi hello that is a perfect parallel to satan who wishes to separate himself from lucifer and it also makes sense that she'd have another name for when she becomes immortal <33 a start of a new era, one that she will mold herself.

Big agree on having many places to pull inspiration from as something that makes workshopping easier, but not fully relying on them to shape a character. I like to think I take just enough to have some sort of loose guide for where I want Dola to be? Of course my process isn’t perfect since I tend to self-indulge often (like with me being adamant about Dola getting her immortality from Thirteen purely because the original Dolasach is a necromancer with a specialization of reaper) and I can’t really be sure that I’m keeping my own OC 100% in character all the time but you know. Real people aren’t 100% in character all the time either <-personal copium lol

I also think I tend to shift the canon characters’ personalities a little to make things a little easier and more entertaining for myself? But I will defend myself by saying that it’s not like game canon does a stellar job of keeping it’s own characters in character. And also I just take issue with some Choices™️ >.> ehem.

You 🤝🏼 Me -> not being able to keep things short. There is too much I want to say!! And when enabled and given the impression that someone gives a shit I will overdo it lmao >.> I also find that I figure things out better and faster when I’m using someone’s ask to rubber duck. Something about having to actually present my ideas to someone makes it easier to decide on what I want and where things should go, which tends to make my answers really long because I prefer to present everything in the form of actions, feelings, and thoughts more than simple description.

Personally, I don't actually like having to describe Dolasach in single, simple adjectives? Or any character, really, much like how I personally do not enjoy being asked to describe myself in five words during those stupid questionnaires and interviews for school and employment. I don't find it easy to find the right way to describe someone because I think people are too complex to simply leave it at a handful of adjectives, even more so when everyone's perception of a description can end up wildly varying.

So pls omg, don't worry too much about perfectly presenting every single thing about Godtongue to me in the span of one or two asks >.< I will inevitably misunderstand or miss something, which will just have you spend more time clearing things up—it may be better to show me small snippets at a time until I get a solid enough idea of them to work off of. It's impossible to truly condense someone into a few simple paragraphs when you know them insanely well due to having created them dfgkjh and I also don't want to frustrate you when there's things I don't get after you've gone through all the trouble of trying to figure out the perfect way to introduce more of her to me.

Because even then, I feel like because we don't think exactly alike, I'm not going to land on something truly to your satisfaction in just one or two exchanges. Literally every take I have on both Dola and the OM cast has taken a while to reach, and all the times people have told me I've been accurate with guessing what their OC/MC would be like have all been educated guesses that I'm shocked I've gotten right; I am fully expecting and also prepared to be told I'm wrong each time I post something about what someone thinks their character's relationship with Dola would be like tbh and I welcome that fully).

Anyway uh, back to Dola?

I'm honestly so super flattered that you think all that sdhjkd Like it makes me feel like I'm doing something right with writing Dola, y'know? Because whenever I write her I tend to hope that I'm showing people someone very flawed and very human. There is plenty that she struggles with, and I don't want people to think that those struggles are in any way beautiful or to be romanticized. Bittersweet is a nice way to put it, yeah. I think there's something both wonderful and horrific about how she goes about trying to make the most of her life throughout the eras of it because honestly, I don't think she has any major long term goals beyond just trying to have a happy existence.

You mentioned not having pieced together what Dola's goal is, and I'm assuming you mean a long term overarching goal that bears some significance and influence to her actions overall.

The thing is, I think many of her goals fall into place throughout the course of her very long life. She does eventually find an identity separate from her parents both as a person and as an artist—something that becomes easily the more of her life she lives away from them (and also, well, spoilers but they die before she's 40 so she definitely outgrows them in many ways); she eventually becomes a sorcerer of high enough skill to stand alongside Solomon and even excels beyond him in certain fields; she eventually even comes to terms with accepting that allowing oneself to breathe will not undo all the work she's done. Like, she does reach points of satisfaction throughout her life, but it doesn't exactly take very long until there is something else that she wants, something else that grabs her attention and points her to direct her efforts and growth towards whatever it is.

But in immortality, I think she does eventually run out of things to aim for. I mean, the most impossible thing out of everything she wanted to achieve actually turns out to be possible—where does she go from there?

The lack of anything to aim for does eventually get to Dola. There are definitely times when she struggles, like really struggle, when it comes to dealing with her immortality. But she refuses to call for death and die. She knows there is nothing for her after death (or at least thinks it—I may or may not do something with the demon!Dola AU who knows) and still finds a lot of joy in simply living her life with her found family. There is still plenty to learn, plenty to discover.

In her crisis I think it occurs to her that perhaps she must imagine Sisyphus happy. And it's a strange change, but is enough to keep her sustained in between the times when there is nothing grand to chase.

(Of course, I think there is a goal of some form that she doesn't quite recognize in the form of a devotion to the one other human who understands what she's going through. Like, as much as it feels weird to admit on here, even though she and Satan have been through so much together and well, even though I made her for Satan, in the long run I think it's Solomon who becomes a source of major comfort that Satan just can't offer because immortality is inherent to him and his society. Solomon is human with a much greater capacity for empathy than Dola has, and has been through the some of the worst of immortality already all alone. And when humanity ends and the earth is consumed by what was once the sun, and the Devildom has offered asylum for the two, it just... Bonds them together in such a crazy way. Idk.

I mean, she still loves Satan with all her heart and the two have a special bond that is completely different from what she and Solomon have. But it's hard to deny the differences, and I can see the two tearfully discussing their feelings regarding it in private at some point far down the timeline of Dola's life. Btw I don't think the brothers + royals ever die unless killed. Because I said so.)

Ah, re: her name tho! I don't think it's ever an intentional choice for 'Dolasach' to become the only name she's known by over the years—it just happens. In my head half her family all go by similar single-word aliases when working, and some of them also choose to just introduce themselves as their art alias because they like the sound of it better. Fully think her father's side started the tradition with like, the great-grandmother and then the next generation, then the next, then until Dola and her cousins. I don't think there's any deep reason as to why she started introducing herself as Dolasach either cause I fully believe her father + his siblings all helped pick out possible aliases for her and her cousins to choose from at some point and she thought 'Dolasach' sounded best and started using it everywhere that didn't need her legal/birth name. From there it just stuck as she doesn't really see much difference between her as an artist + her as herself.

Is it weird? Kinda but idk, they're artists that's my their excuse lmao

(Before I end this very long answer, I like to think that this is where Satan and Dola's problems with their identity differ. I think Satan's stems from not wanting to be thought of as a mere fragment of Lucifer and a deep dread of any confirmation that that's all he is, that his efforts are inevitably pointless because his origin means that his life will always revolve around the fact that he was born from Lucifer's wrath; he will always be less, he will always be linked, he will always be questioning whether he is merely the part of Lucifer that loathes himself personified. Dola's issues stem from her knowing she is different and wishing so desperately that people would see and recognize that. That the fruits of her labor stop being attributed to being part of her family that she loathes and dismissed as something inherent to her bloodline. She's also sick of being seen and used as a gateway to accessing her older relatives because it makes her feel like no one gives a shit about what she does.

I guess in short, I think Satan's battle is more with himself because I honestly think he's likely already killed everyone who's so much as whispered about comparing him to Lucifer so mostly, the main voice left belittling him the most is his own (and sometimes the brothers I guess, who seem to endlessly favor Lucifer more despite Satan being considerably nicer and more active in helping them out on the day to day?); Dola's battle, least by the time she's in the Devildom, is more with everyone else, and that's why she was able to help Satan deal with his issues. She's already been through the whole 'am I just them but shitter/what is my inherent worth/who am I without them' ordeal and can help him to some extent, at least.)
