So, this is what I'm working on instead of the 4-5 almost done mods I should be getting ready for release.

If you have no idea what's going on here, you're completely normal.

This is intended to be a way to set Options from the Options menu for an individual save instead of for the entire game. It involves building menus with Battery's UI utility in ways I'm quite sure he never intended.

All of my saves are played by starkly different rules. They have different lifespans and year lengths. Some have supernaturals and some don't. I swap out my mod lists with a couple of clicks using Sims 3 Mod Organizer. But right now, I think like most people with highly customized save files, I have several copies of options.ini and copy the one into the game to match the save I want to play. Which I almost always forget the first time and have to close the game and start again.

At this point, I have everything setting, saving, and loading. The lifespans are definitely getting set correctly. The demographics settings are harder to test, but I'm pretty sure the way I implemented them is solid. Mostly I need to test that what I did with supernaturals doesn't affect the save in any long-term ways.

I'm not sure the season and lunar settings are getting applied. So, buh. If I can solve that, I can put it up for alpha testing on MTS for those who are interested.

Boarding Schools Skill, Career, & Trait Additions by Twinsimming 🏀🎶🏐🎻🎥

The boarding school feature from The Sims 3: Generations wasn't updated to include any new skills, careers, or traits from subsequent expansion packs, so I originally made this mod to fix that.

Then I realized that there were also some base game traits and careers missing, as well as most of the hidden skills, so I added those too!

This is a tuning mod that can be placed in your Overrides folder.

Requirements

This mod requires The Sims 3: Generations.

Hello and welcome back to my blog! I planned to post this about two weeks ago, but I got so busy with booking flights and reservations for my trip that I decided to wait until I returned from my vacation.

This project has been my plan for my next #FollowersGift and I’m happy that it's finally complete. It's not much, to be honest; this was just an idea I had for a career and I was unsure if I should create a part-time job again or pursue a full-time career, so I decided to do both!

The SimGuard Security Services is a full-time career based on a security company/firm while SimGuard Security is also part of that but is assigned to different lots. This took a while because aside from creating five part-time careers, I also created a full-time career that includes branches, opportunities and books, which will be fully discussed in this post. A second post will follow for the part-time careers so this one won't get too long.

NRAAS Careers Mod

Branches and wages: This career has two branches that branch out after level 5: the Management branch, which focuses on handling internal agency operations as you progress to higher ranks and the Field Operations branch, which allows for expertise in specific security fields. All the levels represent realistic roles based on the research I did for this career. If you prefer the managerial role, expect to read more reports and increase your logic skills. However, if you prefer roles like a bodyguard or security escort, expect to develop both athletic and logic skills as you take on different roles in the field. Levels 1-5 offer realistic hourly wages based on research. To compensate for the increased days off and decreased work hours as the level increases, I had to raise the hourly wages beyond the normal salary ranges for Levels 6-10 for both branches. Metrics and Books: I made a few changes to this career, specifically regarding the metrics. I originally planned to include "Reports" as part of the required tasks but I realized this was unrealistic since it was based on the Law Enforcement career, where individuals interview people, search through their trash and create reports based on those findings—tasks not typical for a security guard. Instead, I made it a custom tone and changed the "Reports" metric to "Research," which is based on the Medical career, where professionals read reports from their subordinates instead of medical journals. Opportunities: As this is my first time creating opportunities, I focused on developing just two for now, with only one of them being repeatable. This is because security guards need to complete a minimum number of hours of continued firearm training per year. I initially planned to include Martial Arts as part of the metrics but decided to make this base game compatible for now. I might release a different version for World Adventures but to be honest, I don’t have the time at the moment. You are always free to add it on your own for personal use (check my terms of use). Be sure to check out MissyHissy's tutorial under Credits for a step-by-step guide on how to do it. As stated above, you will need NRAAS Careers Mod for these careers to show up in the game and as long as you have the latest version of it, it should work for higher patches. this is pretty much a conversation from the sims 4 barbie legacy challenge by @sims-himbo but i did change up some of the generations as well just to use more features from ts3 that arent in ts4 as add some extra optional ones for occult/supernatural players

Getting back into things & flower arranging mod update

Heyoo,

I thought I would write a little update mainly for my own sake but maybe others are interested in my plans too.

I haven't been doing much playing or modding this past year or so, so I'm kind of out of the loop with the game and my past progress on mod updates.

However, I'm hopefully at a point now where I have some more time to get back into things and try to enjoy sims 3 again, as well as return to my older mods and WIPs.

To start, I NEED to finish Flower Arranging 2.0. It's been SO long since I worked on some (imo very exciting) updates, and I just need to get it done and release it. I ran into the problem of occasionally trying to work on it, but getting overwhelmed with the features I planned and then realising that some are kinda useless anyway so working on them was a waste of time...

So the plan is to finish off and release the original features I was working on, and then I can figure out what other features are actually useful and doable. Because otherwise it will just never happen at all.

Features for Flower Arranging 2.0:

New flower arranging interaction with a dialog/LAYO instead of the pie menu, so you can actually see what the arrangements look like, as well as filter by flower and available arrangements

Improved skill journal, with stats and skill challenges

Arrangements have different styles which give different moodlets when viewed (e.g romantic ones)

Arrangements can be scented with flowers to give special effects, some useful, some deadly.......

Maybe some smaller changes, but if they are holding me back from releasing this version then they might banished to v2.1+

So hopefully this will happen soon and you guys will like the update.

Also if you have any tips & tricks for getting back into the game and being inspired again, let me know cos I need it. I miss sims 3 so bad but idk how to play anymore 😢

Progress on the In-Game Options mod:

OK, what I have learned from more extensive testing:

1. The season length and lunar cycle length really don't work. I'm going to have to look for another way to set them that doesn't write to the ini file.

2. The lifespan lengths work great, but I'm setting them on loadup after NRaas StoryProgression runs, so I'm getting the, "You seem to have changed your lifespan" prompt twice on every load -- once for loading the lifespans from options.ini and then a second one for loading the lifespans from my mod. I have a good idea how to fix this one.

Eat, Meditate, Love (Episodes 1-3) Resources ♡

hi angels ♥︎ I've been having the most amazing time creating and sharing the first few episodes of my Let's Play series over on Youtube. Roaring Heights 3t2

Well, Harborview lost my interest (but I will be back don't you worry)

I'm a Sims 2 Maximalist. I have lots of CC/mods and I go all out. Full functioning 3t2 traits. I don't really have a specific playstyle, it depends on the Sim I am playing. I used to get stuck playing one situation or one character but now, I literally can blow through a hood of 40 households rotationally and I find it so fun. I love playing every type of family and situation.

My favorite family in Roaring Heights Sims 3 (Which, yes, I recreated it in the Sims 2 because I love it so much that it angered me enough when it wouldn't work in Sims 3) is the Morgan family.

51 Sunburst St, Roaring Heights, East Coast of Sim Nation.

I'm crafting a narrative that starts with Roaring Heights and then segues into Twinbrook. It will culminate in Strangetown, I suspect.

Meet the Morgans.

Donna Morgan sits, reading Gardening magazines all day while her husband, David, works as a Sports Columnist in the Journalism career.

David Morgan, man of the household.

The children, Carolyn, a child, Joseph, a teen, and Evelyn, a toddler, are all either asleep or at school, so I will just get into the drama between David and Donna.

In the Sims 3, their bio gives it away, but if you skip the bio, you find that David is actually good friends with his co-worker, Samantha Cassat, who lives across the street in this one-story black house.

When you investigate Samantha Cassat's household, you discover that Samantha ... is pregnant ... with David's child!

Now, in Sims 3, David and Samantha are - I suspect because EA forgot to set it up - only just friends at the start of the game.

Samantha having his baby obviously implies that they had an affair, but they either broke it off or it was a mishap that they both forgot about or don't remember even happening.

So, I didn't edit their memories in Sims 2. I left them as normal, and made Samantha pregnant by David with Sim Blender before I started this save to set up the story.

Now, we just have to see, if Samantha ever visits the Morgan home, that is, if ACR can make things happen for us!

Hello and welcome back to my blog! I haven’t posted in a while because I was sick these past few days and decided to take a short break to recuperate.

Anyways, this lot is a custom building for the Business and Journalism rabbit hole with an added Bank next to it.

The buildings are not empty; expect a lot of clutter as well as objects required to advance in the Business and Journalism careers, especially for those who use the Ultimate Careers mod by Zerbu or the Ultimate Careers Updated by SonyaYU.

You can either use the bank with the Tax Collector mod to collect taxes in your town and replace the computers from Ani's mod (get it here) or you can use the Banking Career, a custom career by MissyHissy here.

I’ve included two types of printers for this lot, but they are only decor. If you prefer to replace them with functional objects, you can use the Functioning Printer Mod by phoebejaysims (here) or a recent printer (here).

You might notice that some of the screenshots I took look different from the building itself. This is because I made a few minor changes after the screenshots were taken, such as updating the wallpaper at the back of the bank building, which I noticed too late and correcting the direction of the stairs that were facing the wrong way during testing.

For the Money Dispenser, I know that some of you might not be able to download it as it is a donator CC by ATS3. You can either replace it with another décor item (here) or use a functional ATM by using the Social Clubs mod by phoebejaysims. Just be aware that the décor item has a high polycount; check the details before downloading.

📣Please note that the store content and CC included in the lot are not included on the download file. I’ve compiled a list for those interested in downloading them separately (please click the links above or go to WCIF Navigation page) but those are not required and will be automatically replaced in the game. The expansion packs listed above are required due to the build items used in the lot as stated in the Details section above.

How do I Sim?

I do use mods, but I still consider myself a Vanilla player. I mod my game to add difficulty, depth and fix things EA can't be bothered about and remove as many of the BS annoyances and immersion breaking things from the game as possible. I sometimes test more extreme gameplay mods, but rarely stick to them long term.

For my gameplay I use some skill overhauls like Srsly's Cooking overhaul, tons of custom foods and harvestable for my gardening and cooking obsession, custom crafting mods etc.

I sometimes use CC for both CAS and BB for my gameplay, but when I build or create Sims to share with others I usually disable my CC and non-essential mods.

I have my likes on Maxis Match CC. Nothing against alpha, just not my aesthetics.

I do play with all the packs and kits - usually except for the latest content, I never update my game until major EA's f-ups are either fixed or fixable with mods. Not after HSY update destroyed my game completely.

Sometimes I limit myself on the pack usage, sometimes not. Depends on my mood. Remember you can always download any Sim or build, items will be missing or replaced, you can restyle missing parts with packs and CC you own.

When I create my Not-So-Random Townies and Households to replace game generated ones I always give them love: jobs, skills, education, glimpses of personality. They have short backstories to give them purpose in the Sim World and inspire a gameplay. I want my Sims to meet interesting Sims, not just ugly, unemployed randoms.

I may be dropping Not-So-Random Townies packs of 8 Sims with skills/jobs/degrees/skills to place them in your game to slow down a little generating random uglies and use more pre-existing Sims instead.

I don't care about original TS4 townies, I lately deleted them all and create Townies from the scratch for my save file. Don't look for Bella Goth here.

I might post builds later after they are playtested and polished up. My builds are not overcluttered, but decorated. I love to decorate with clutter but tiny, cluttered spaces are often unusable and contribute to Sims being stuck, too many items slow down the game. It also increases the number of packs used to build. If you like more detailed, cluttered builds then it's not really my style. I adore looking at them, but find them impossible to play.

About me?

I'm just a Random Townie, your average Simmer. Not a great builder, neither talented storyteller. I play many other games than TS4 (I love survival-crafting-building games, my other regular game of choice outside of difficult relationship with the TS4 is No Man's Sky).

I played TS1 when it launched as a 13 yo. Go figure how old I am. I skipped TS2, but played TS3 for years and loved it. When TS4 released in 2014 I got it and I hated it. I was playing TS3 exclusively until memorable 2020. I thought after 6 years that might be playable now. Little that I knew..

But I stuck to it, so I complain but play. It is what it is, right?

I'm an expat from Central European country living in Portugal. I have 3 cats.

English is not my first language, though I use it daily for 7 years and my brain often thinks in English instead of my native language, I do get lost in the grammar sometimes. Correct my mistakes if they're bothering, I'm always happy to learn since it is my main language on a daily basis.

I created that Simblr to help me fight my mental health issues and have a creative hobby. I tried many things that didn't work out long term, but one thing I always come back to all these years is The Sims games. So I thought - why not?
