Would you be willing to do little Angel dust Headcannons? (Hazbin hotel)
Wrote them back before Season One came out and none of them have changed since then!! They're not very happy headcanons because they're interwoven with his work and trauma, so just keep that in mind when choosing to read them. <3

Between the early cancellation of Discovery, Seven/Raffi and Mariner/Jenn being erased in their respective shows, and SNW having queer coded characters but not confirming anything on screen, I'm really afraid that we're entering another "No Gays in Trek" era.
For those who don't know, 90s era star trek featured so few queer characters b/c Rick Berman largely held a policy of not wanting any homosexuality in his shows. And yes, we all remember the handful of episodes that slipped through that addressed it but the fact remains that there were no canonically queer main cast members before Into Darkness in 2016 gave us a five second shot that could be cut when whoever was showing the movie found the idea of two men in a loving relationship disgusting.
Then we got Discovery with multiple queer characters that allowed people to feel seen. And people never stopped bitching about them. The amount of times that I've had to listen to people complain that Adira's only character trait is that they're non-binary despite that literally being a single thirty second scene and never brought up again makes me understand that they very likely don't want to like the queer characters in that show. And it's not that there aren't criticisms to be made about the queer representation in Disco: Discovery Buries it's Gays before the end of the first season. Making your trans characters aliens who already have a history of gender fuckery is problematic b/c it somewhat plays into the idea that queerness is unnatural for human beings. But I never hear those complaints. Only the pronouns. Only the "We get it you're gay but don't shove it down our throats." But I don't want to get too off topic.
Now Discovery is being canceled early. And by early I mean, the writers weren't given proper notice that their show was ending. They were halfway through production and allowed to adjust the end episodes of the season to try to give a satisfying ending.
In Picard and Lower Decks, we got two sapphic relationships ("sapphic" meaning a romantic or sexual relationship between two women who aren't necessarily strictly lesbians) and they were pretty good. People had been asking for Seven to be queer and Jeri Ryan had been playing her as such since her introduction (see again: Rick Berman) and to see her finally get to express that was really healing. Mariner got off to rocky feet when the creators tried to pull a "Dumbledore is gay" where they said she was bi but didn't commit to it, but they she actually got a fairly satisfying relationship in season 3.
But in their most recent seasons, both were completely written out. Seven/Raffi gave us no explanation beyond that they "broke up." They went out of their way to keep them from being on screen together for most of the season. Mattis said in a Reddit AMA that he wanted Seven to be captain and Raffi to be first officer at the end of the season and that Starfleet would have regulations against relationships between the two despite the biggest reason Seven was promoted to captain was that she was a rule breaker. We didn't even get that much for Mariner/Jennifer. Jenn just wasn't in this season except for two background appearances.
And in Strange New Worlds there's just… nothing. SNW is the most recent new show and there's no queer representation. They code Ortegas as gay but don't actually confirm it on screen. There's just… nothing.
And this is how you loose the culture war. The bigots make enough noise that the show that is supposed to be a beacon of diversity doesn't necessarily side with them but they just kinda bow out of the conversation. They decide that it's easier to not bother than to take a stand. And so I and many many queer star trek fans are left wondering:
Does the franchise even want us any more?

Hi! I’ve been following you for a while and so have seen a lot of your 911 content and it’s made me pretty interested in watching the show. (I thought Buck/Eddie was canon for the longest time because of your blog and was genuinely disappointed when i realised they weren’t😭)
I’m very aware though that it may be another queerbaiting situation and I don’t know if I have the energy to invest in that D: Do you think there’s any hope for Buck/Eddie? Should I watch the show despite that?
I'm going to be very firm in my answer here: it is not queerbaiting.
Regardless of whether or not the show goes canon, it is not queerbaiting.
When the Rizzoli & Isles marketing team from day one (literally before the pilot even aired) were putting out billboards and advertisements in magazines going "ooh are they just friends or are they partners in more ways than one?" - that was queerbaiting. They did this throughout the entire run of the show.
When the Teen Wolf team had the actors for the popular ship Sterek cuddling on a boat making shipping jokes and telling us to tune in to the new season of Teen Wolf and winking at us - that was queerbaiting.
When the BBC Sherlock writers threw in line after line of third parties stating that John was married to Sherlock, that Sherlock was John's boyfriend, that John was clearly in love with Sherlock, only for them to turn around and literally make fun of viewers for thinking that they were being serious - that was queerbaiting.
When the Supernatural writers made wink wink references to Dean Winchester knowing about/visiting popular gay bars in Miami and suggesting he and Cas run away to the one state that had gay marriage legalized at the time - that was queerbaiting.
The 911 writers haven't done one of those wink wink references since season two. They have not used the Buddie ship in marketing tools and advertisements. They have not had third parties joke that Buck and Eddie are gay for each other.
The fact that the writers are crafting a story where we, the viewers, see the only logical conclusion to the character arcs being Buck and Eddie falling for each other and dating is not queerbaiting. Queerbaiting is a tactic to lure in a queer audience without any intention of following through.
This 'queerbaiting' accusation is especially heinous in regards to 911 because 911 is a show that has five significant queer characters: Hen Wilson and her wife Karen, Athena's ex-husband Michael, Michael's fiancé David, and Maddie's coworker Josh. Michael and David are currently not on the show due to Michael's actor refusing to follow vaccination guidelines, but Hen and Karen just got a huge damn backstory episode showing how they fell in love.
911 loves and respects its queer characters and storylines, so to have the fandom constantly accusing them of queerbaiting because the ship they want to happen hasn't happened (yet), is insulting and disrespectful, in my very, very, very tired opinion.
So, to wit: whether or not they go canon, Buck and Eddie are not queerbaiting. 911 is not queerbaiting us. Full stop.
Now, we do not know for certain that they will be going canon. The show writers are not going to confirm that ahead of time, just like they wouldn't for a het ship like Bones/Booth, Castle/Beckett, or most recently Chenford over on The Rookie. That would be spoiling a big plot moment if that's where they're headed. So asking for confirmation from them is rather unfair. As I've said before and will say again: no, het ships do not get a guarantee and a pre-canon confirmation. If you think they do, then I would've loved to see where you were in the late 90s/early 00s when I was in the trenches.
However, with het ships, writers will play with the audience and tease them a bit more. Because with het ships, if they do that, they won't be queerbaiting if it doesn't happen. Therefore, the 911 writers are going to stay mum. We won't know from the writers if Buddie is going canon until it's shown on screen through a third party love confession or other means.
Although we do not have a confirmation that they're going canon, I have faith that they are. The writing points to it. I don't have time to list all the reasons. If you go into my blog and search '911 spec' or 'meta' you should get some good results. Otherwise if you go to @extasiswings blog and do some searching you'll see a lot of great meta from herself and others. @yramesoruniverse also has great meta. There are others but I'm fried and rushing out the door so can't think of anything specific at the moment.
My point is, people in this fandom have outlined how the writing in this show, to them, points to Buddie going canon, and I agree. Do some light digging and you'll see.
Finally, a ship going canon or not is not why you should ship something. Ship something because you love the dynamic. Geraskier is never going canon but I'm still having a rip-roaring good time with them. But at the end of the day, nonny, it's up to you.
If you want to wait and watch from the sidelines to see if Buddie goes canon before investing, that's totally valid and your choice. I can't decide that for you. I know what it's like to ship something and hope it goes canon only to have it not come to fruition (RIP Garcy, among others), and it sucks, so I get it if you don't want to do that. But it's your choice and yours alone.
I will say that 911 is a fantastic show even without Buddie going canon, and that I adore every single one of the characters, and I don't even like medical dramas. So I think it's a worthwhile show to get into, Buddie or no Buddie.
To summarize: We don't know if they're going canon yet but it's not queerbaiting, the show is good either way and worth a shot, only you can decide if you want to invest in a ship that may or may not go canon.
I hope you have a good day and take care of yourself. Stay safe.

Hi hello :D!!! I hope you're doing well XP
I just wanted to say that I've started watching metalocalypse since seeing your post about toki being a canon age regressor. I'm on season three so far and I love it! Toki is sooo blorbo shaped and I love the other characters alot too :)))!!!
(Totally optional add-on request but if you had any general agere hc's for him or him with a cg of your choice I'd love to hear!)
Regardless, have a great rest of Ur day/night!!! I just kinda wanted to share this w someone since I don't usually post abt adult swim shows on my fandom side :p
-@p2ii-agere
Howdy howdy!! I've been good, busy but good!!! Hope you've been well!♡
And heck, yeah, welcome to the klok family!!!
- Toki loves, and I mean looves plushies (deady-bear is, of course, plushie #1) they're soft, so many different fabrics, textures, sizes! When they are on tour, it's Toki's mission to get a plush from each city (they might need to build a new room just for the plushies xD)
Tiny Toki definitely has to spend 10 minutes figuring out which plushies are going to be tucked in with him that night (and no, Murderface, Toki can't just grab 4 random ones! Toki had to ask each plushie if they wanted to bed sleep!)
- Tiny Toki is a huge fan of just sitting there and watching his carer. Maybe with a colouring book, but the lil guy just likes being close to his carer. It helps him feel safe and calm♡ (Everyone has to watch their step just in case Toki is under their feet xD)
- Skwis and Murderface are more so big sibs to Toki! Skwis loves to have Toki help him play pranks on others and Murderface looves using Toki to get someone to agree to his next hairscheme idea (He'll just hold up Toki and be like "Awe c'mon, you're seriously gonna say no to a face like this??" And Toki is just knawing on a crayon and happily waving) xD
Either way, those two lads are pointing at tiny Toki and saying, "But it makes the baby happy! You saiiiid to make sure he was happy!"
- Pickles is the best carer for Toki when it comes to nightmares, Pickles doesn't even have to open his eyes when he hears his door creaking open before he's lifting his blanket up for Toki to come running under (Pickles is also the warmest bandmate so, Toki loves to just nuzzle himself into Pickles chest, kinda like baby-carer skin-to-skin style xD)
- Two words: Kitty onesie. That's 90% of his wearings when tiny, it's cozy and cute (and the hood has kitty ears!!!) ;w;

What are the favorite Four Seasons of the Disney Heros (non-Princes)?
As usual, I'm only going up to the end of the '90s, because I haven't seen that many of the later movies with male protagonists.
Pinocchio: Summer, because he gets a vacation from school.
Dumbo: Spring and summer, the best seasons for flying outdoors.
Bambi: Spring, when the forest is full of new life.
Peter Pan: Spring and summer, the best times for outdoor battles with the pirates and for nighttime flights.
Tramp: Spring and autumn, because they're neither too hot nor too cold outdoors – though ever since Lady's family adopted him, he's learned to like winter too, and celebrating Christmas with the puppies.
Pongo: Autumn, because it's a good season for comfortable walks, and because that's when his puppies were born.
Arthur: Summer – if his movie and the musical "Camelot" are in the same canon (and I wouldn't doubt it, since they're both based on T.H. White's The Once and Future King), he likes summer to linger through September.
Mowgli: Winter, because that's when the weather is best in India – after the monsoon season, but before it gets too hot.
Winnie the Pooh: Summer, because Christopher Robin is out of school and they have more time to play together.
Thomas O'Malley: Spring or summer, because cats prefer warmth to cold.
Robin Hood: Summer and early autumn – good weather for being outdoors in the woods.
Bernard: Winter, as long as he can spend it cozily indoors with Bianca, and not – as is too often the case – flying on Orville or Wilbur's back for another rescue adventure.
Tod and Copper: Late summer and autumn – good times to be outdoors, and in Tod's case, plenty of wild fruit growing, just right for an omnivorous fox.
Taran: Autumn – a moody, magical, adventurous time of year.
Basil of Baker Street: Summer – that's when the weather causes the least inconvenience when he needs to travel around the city to solve a mystery.
Oliver: Summer, because Jenny is out of school and has more time for him.
Simba: Summer, the dry season on the savannah.
Quasimodo: Winter, especially January, because that's when the Festival of Fools takes place, and that was when he met Esmeralda and Phoebus.
Hercules: Spring, the best time for athletics.
Tarzan: Summer, the dry season – that's always best when you live mostly outdoors.

5, 7, 13, and 20 for fanfic asks?
5. Fic most proud of writing This is a toss up - because I am one of those people who likes their own stuff a lot. :-D But, one of the Big Three: Damnatio Memoriae from the Lucifer fandom, Running Up That Hill for Agenst of SHIELD, and Wrong Side of Heaven for Magnum 2018. Mostly for different reasons, but they all have the same vein of "I got mad at canon and I fixed it".
Lucifer was a roller coaster for me - I loved season 1, season 2 was okay, 3 made me want to throw something at the screen 90% of the time, season 4 WAS EPIC, and I gave up halfway through season 5 and never finished the series. Damnatio was written because I wanted much more involvement of the supernatural, not just a therapy/self discovery mixed in with crime of the week. Also, being raised adjacent to Catholicism, I was getting really irritated that they weren't even using the comic lore, and missing the basic fundamentals of the sources they were pulling from. This story had a lot of reader feedback, to the point of it being almost choose your own adventure. As it went on, I would ask readers to pick from two options that I had rolling around in my head, and it actually worked really well to keep the ball moving with my writing.
Running Up That Hill was again another one where I just got mad at canon, but because I don't like the narrative of "these people are exempt from moral standards while this person is Wrong No Matter What", and I probably would've let it slide except the issue I had was that the one that Wrong No Matter What had all of his life changing trauma as a child and then had it reinforced his entire adult life. Everyone else was an adult when Bad Things happened, and I don't like the hypocrisy of saying "get over it" to someone who legitimately doesn't have the toolset to do that.
Wrong Side I love because this actually was my first foray into something that had no supernatural elements to it whatsoever, and based firmly in reality, and a reality I knew pretty well. I wasn't a huge fan of how the TV show just glossed over the fact that these guys were POW's for a year and a half of a terrorist organization that tortures and kills people with such violence that they became a whole new subsect of terrorism. Like, no, these guys aren't just going to walk away without an issue. And the fact that they were sold out by someone who said to have loved them? AND THEY HAVE NO FALL OUT FROM THIS?! Get fucked, shitty narrative. Suicide in the veteran community is at a high not seen since post-WWII, and these fuckers have the audacity to suggest that you're just being a little bitch if you can't acclimate to civilian life.
7. Favorite ship to write Well, that's pretty easy - none. Romance is rarely done well, and I have never liked anyone enough to relate to the narrative of "Well, I'm throwing all of my friendships out the window because now I have a RomAnTic InTereSt" and it irritates me to no end. if anything, my favorite ship is between Captain Kirk and the Enterprise.
13. Latest fic written/last WIP? A fix it fic for Yellowstone that showcases the brothers Kayce and Jamie, and because I am on a western kick, research for a Magnificent Seven fic that will likely never see the light of day, but I still love the show and the characters, where Ezra (the gambler from Georgia) is a spy for the Union during the Civil War.
20. Hardest Character to write/get the characterization right for? The female characters written by men. And I realize that sounds really weird, but because I swear to god men don't understand being a woman, they're just shit at writing them, and they say/do the dumbest things because guys would do that shit, or, worse, the guys writing the character are using them as hyperboles for women they think did them wrong. And then because the writers don't understand them, I can't understand them, and they wind up being the people that in real life, I'd want to hit with my car. Beth Dutton is a great example of this - some of the things she says that I know are supposed to come off as "strong, powerful woman" make me physically recoil and hide my face with a pillow while watching because What the fuck nobody would ever say that and it's actually cringeworthy. Until women started getting involved in the writing process for Magnum and Lenkov was fired, I absolutely wanted to stab Higgins in 90% of her scenes. Post Lenkov - I actually found her really sweet sometimes, and actually relatable.
That being said, the other ones that I'm not good at because it is so far outside my sphere of comprehension are characters like Angie or Dani off of Will Trent and Prodigal Son. I love those characters, they are complex and unique and I love them, but I don't have relatable experience to them at all, and they are some of the hardest people I have tried to write (which is why I don't have fic in those fandoms even though I love them).

every season el goes on a journey of self discovery away from mike and learns new important things about herself and the world and then she comes back to mike and they still love each other so much and every season people say “el needs to be her own person and go on a journey of self discovery away from mike to learn new important things about herself and the world!!!!!” like y’all it’s been four seasons of her doing exactly that. and mike and el just always love each other even more afterwards and have an even deeper connection each time. when will these people realize it’s okay to just not like a ship you don’t have to make up faux-feminist reasons to act like it’s morally wrong or whatever. you can just. dislike it lol
“I hate mileven bc I care about el! all she cares about is mike!! she’s solely dependent on him!!!” woah wild how they missed so many of el’s plot lines and character arcs while they were so busy “caring” about her
(sorry for dumping this in your inbox lol I just wanted to get it out there to someone who probably gets it, I hope you have a good day!)
don't be sorry, it's totally okay to vent here! and i do get your frustration all too well.
one of the things that bugs me the most about the hate mileven gets, aside from it being wholy underserved imo, is the way people keep trying to find reasons why it's problematic or badly written to justify their dislike. it's okay to just not vibe with a character/relationship. that's fine. it's actually a lot more respectable than whatever this is.
but people would really rather be annoying and waste their time on something they don't even like just to try and come out on top. as if instead of not shipping a couple of 15-year-olds they're actually standing up for women everywhere or something.
which is really funny when the woke takes these people tend to come up with are actually some of the most misogynistic, ableist takes i've ever seen.
"el needs to be her own person."
so women can't be in a relationship and be in love with someone and still be their own person.
"she's too dependent on mike, she needs him too much."
so women wanting support from the people they love makes them dependent and therefore weak.
"el doesn't even have any real world experience. she can't even talk properly and doesn't even know what clothes she likes. she shouldn't be in a romantic relationship. and it's weird that mike likes her. seems predatory idk."
so anyone who's been through terrible abuse and struggles because of that, has a difficulty with speech and understanding social cues, and/or is still developing a sense of identity shouldn't be allowed to make their own decisions or be in a loving relationship. and it's weird for someone else to take a romantic interest in them unless they're taking advantage in some way because no way would anyone just... love them for who they are.
great. that's actually very gross of you.
and don't even get me started on the canon erasure. it's like 90% of people didn't even watch this show. i'm tired of people claiming mileven needs to be given breathing room when they're the only couple to have been separated in some way every season. you can say whatever you want about st, but one thing the show has done since day 1 is give el, the character, plenty of agency. el is not stuck in hawkins. she's not stuck with mike. she chose that. she chose her family and we saw her do that, every step of the way.
so yeah anyone who says "i love el but mileven..." is full of shit. if you actually loved el you'd respect her choices and want her to have the people she loves by her side, supporting her.

Poppy Playtime headcanons I made! (Part 2)
Pink is for AU, blue is for canon and purple is for random things that don't make sense, but I thought it would to me.
Huggy often acts like a cat. Whenever he hisses, cleans his fur with his hand or looking like those funny cat meme pictures.
Stella is Dutch. Her family moved to America in 1964.
The reason why Poppy's eyes are bloodshot and red because it’s actually her real eyes being used.
Kissy knows how to knit.
Bron is the oldest of the toys and Baby Long Legs is the youngest.
Despite having intelligence, Huggy can’t help himself from being the “king of stupid”, or whatever Mommy claims him as.
Huggy knows how to play the ukulele.
Skittles is Huggy's favorite candy.
Kissy knows how to do yoga.
The toys often treat Poppy like a baby, even though she clearly hated it. It wasn’t their fault. They just wanted to keep her safe.
Baby Long Legs is three years old, despite being a "baby".
Patty was demoted after “sabotaging” the paint machine. That’s when she met Rich and fell in love with him.
Cat-Bee thinks she’s an actual bee.
Poppy always finds ways to get dirty.
The toys hate to be called "monsters".
Cassie Cutie-Pillar is PJ's owner after she was taken and was experimented on.
The new owner of Playtime Co. took over the company after Elliot passed away. His name was Edward.
The toys have human stomachs so they can eat. Dr. Harvey says it was made to “tailor” their appetite. But it’s not the case.
Poppy always wants to look her best.
Bron was going to be orange, but Elliot was colorblind, so Playtime Co. changed Bron's color to red.
Marie never had extreme night terrors ever since she was brought to Playtime Co. until CatNap was brought to Home Sweet Home.
The reason why Huggy is seen with a yellow bow on his “Remember to take breaks!” poster than his blue bow is because that’s what Playtime Co. had for the cartoon series that only ran for three seasons in the early 90’s before the studio that made the cartoon, and the Smiling Critters cartoon went defunct after the recall of CatNap.
Marie is very flexible at such a young age. Playtime Co. thought that this was a homage to their new toy at the time.
Candy Cat gets sick whenever she eats too much candy.
Poppy doesn’t like Mommy that much sometimes. She's sometimes scared of her.
After Poppy was successful, Playtime Co. made more dolls like Poppy. These include a black Poppy named Violet, a Chinese Poppy named Lily Lee and a male Poppy named Ben Bluebell. These many Poppy variations never saw the light of day.
Stella and Claire knew each other in college.
When Huggy escaped the factory for the first time, he was so confused and scared by everything he saw, like seeing trees taller than him and grass. The only time he saw these things around him were in picture books or drawings the children made.
Marie was the big sister type and the kids looked up to her a lot since they saw her as the older sister some of them never had. Some kids would even try to comfort her when she has her night terrors.
Stella joined Playtime Co. because she liked the idea of being a part of so many children’s upbringings by providing them with the toys that would shape them.
Rich struggles with regulating his volume. He knows there’s a volume rule, he just never knows how loud he’s being.
Bunzo's teeth are actually not that sharp. They're like puppy teeth.
The Poppy dolls are made of some form of porcelain or china.

what do u think the st fandom is gonna be like after s5 drops and finishes.. like idk but I've just been wondering cuz this is the last time we're getting a new season 🤔 do you think it's gonna stick around or what? I noticed that usually after every season the fandom goes kinda radio silent after around a month but the fandoms still actually p active after s4 so. I wonder if the potential spin off is gonna keep the popularity up or even surpass it a la brba and better call saul(not that I think st is as good as those shows but I think they're both kinda iconic in their own ways)
i think stranger things will have a similar kinda legacy and impact as harry potter. the last movie came out in 2011 and its still a MASSIVE fandom and community that write, make fanart, make edits and gifs, collect merch, the whole shebang. the storys long done but the fandom has never died. i just went on ao3 and guess how many pages i had to go through just to reach a fic that came out more that two days ago….. TWENTY!!!!!???
stranger things is one of the only fandoms for a fictional media ive seen that is similar to the size and commitment of the harry potter fandom. i would say star wars also is a close comparison but a lot of people have mixed feelings about all the new ones (rightfully so honestly. daisy ridley slays but why the fuck did reylo kiss. thats not at all how you write enemies to lovers.) most star wars fans just love the classics like empire strikes back so the fandom isnt as strong as harry potter. and it doesnt really feel too much like a fandom in the same way that stranger things and harry potter do. i could go on about this but i’ll go back to my original point.
i dont think any passage of time will negatively affect the success of this show. you know how youve probably seen a bunch of iconic classic movies from the 70s, 80s, and 90s that your family got you to watch? this will be the show of the 2010s that future generations will watch because their parents loved it. its not even that the show will go down in history, it already has!! its so cool to really look into how much of an impact this show has actually made. im really glad ive been able to witness it and have been watching the show since it first came out.
another thing that’ll probably keep this show iconic and new generations watching it is the kid actors. these are all of their first “big break”. theyre all probably gonna go on to play so many more iconic roles into their adulthood and eventually people will look at them in stranger things in the same way that we currently look at young winona ryder in beetlejuice. thats mad trippy to think about tho. in my head theyre all perpetually 14.
i think this fandom will always be active because there is just SO MUCH to talk about!!!! and this would be the case no matter what they ended up doing with the relationships and characters, but once byler is canon that’ll definitely play a huge role in keeping the fandom alive. people who have never seen the show will probably start watching it after they hear that the main characters are gay. no one will ever stop writing byler fics. people who really really love a specific couple or ship dont ever really lose interest. if you love the characters and love them together, that love never just goes away and people will ALWAYS want more content so theyll always love reading fics and seeing fanart. snowbaz is a good example of this. i read carry on when i was 16. i just turned 23 and i read snowbaz fanfiction all the fucking time. im currently reading one thats amazing and they update weekly and every monday i get so excited to read a story from characters that i was introduced to SEVEN YEARS AGO!!!!!!!!! that’ll probably be the same case for byler. and lumax too.
i think the spinoffs will definitely be talked about but i dont think theyll be the reason the fandom stays alive. i honestly kinda would rather it be more separate from the og stranger things. i hope its good and treated in the same way that fantastic beasts was treated and not the shitty new star wars movies. and you didnt ask this but i also have a hunch that the spinoff will be about kali.
to sum all that up, no i dont think this fandom will ever die. its so iconic.

Something I seriously don't get...
Why is most of the current discourse about the OG's kids clashing with canon about Leia? Yeah, it's canonically iffy, but being two months premature is still plausible. And I'm 99.9% sure the writers and the showrunners didn't intend for her to be Randy's daughter. At all.
To me, Leia's iffy canonical existence is like an elephant's tail destroying a few things in a china shop. Like, it's not good, but the elephant in the room is undoubtedly Jay.
Why? Because his existence wavers from the canon timeline by not only two months, but by a solid year and a half. Jackie was with Fez on January 1, 1980, and she and Kelso hadn't been together for...yes, a solid year and a half (unless one thinks that she had sex with Kelso during the season 7 finale, which...no way. Kelso was bluffing). Yet both of these articles linked above, and much of the discourse (minus Mila Kunis's quip a few months back), render such an obvious deviation from canon as a footnote.
In the summer of 1995, although the preliminary scripts intended for Jay to be fifteen (iirc), it's quite clear that he's sixteen. He and Nate are the oldest members in the new gang, have been best friends since they were toddlers, and they're the only two that are driving cars without pushback about their age (aka, being too young to legally drive).
*****
So Jay (not Leia), ultimately, is the main reason T9S can't be canon. Jay's existence goes above and beyond the caliber of T7S's wacky timeline, and within canon, he can't possibly exist. By a long shot, because his birthday, at the absolute latest, is in early summer 1979. This blatantly writes off half the show, much of Jackie's character development, and in the world of T9S? Jackie was never with Hyde, and Hyde split shortly after high school graduation. Kelso and Brooke were never a thing, and Betsy doesn't exist. Everyone went their separate ways after the late 70s/very early 80s (and Jackie had a brief relationship with Fez at one point), and that was it. Pretty sad, if you ask me.
PS: Most of the eww-y stuff about Eric crushing on Leia was in the second half of the show (seasons 6 and 7, mainly). So the name Leia isn't as implausible in this context.

Alright, so I'm done with 'That 90's Show' season 1. Here are a few takeaways from someone who LOVED the original show:
Bad parts:
The theme song is really annoying & it just bugs me as someone who has spent a somewhat insane amount of time watching & re-watching the original & singing along. This probably won't bother most people but it's irritating to me
Ozzie as a character is borderline offensive to me. I'm not sure that I'd go so far as to say his characterization is racist or homophobic EXACTLY but...there's something uncomfortable about it. He's literally just a sassy quip machine awkward ham-fisted joke deliverer & he makes me cringe. If there's a second season I really hope they delve into him just a little more since he is part of the main group.
It's annoying & weird that Laurie & Hyde are both absent without reference. I can understand not wanting to replace actors who can't be there, but these were 2 important characters to the group & they could've very easily given us a throwaway comment about where they were. It's just....bad writing, & incredibly noticeable & uncomfortable.
Good parts:
Let's just get this one out there first - every single OG cameo had me cheering. Yes, I claim to hate reboots & remakes & I scream about letting things end & I stand by that but if they're going to do it, I want it done well damn it & this show did in my opinion. I just absolutely loved every single appearance from the original cast members.
I love Jackie & Michale as the couple in a perpetual cycle of getting divorced & back together. I loved Fez as a hair salon owner living his best life. Donn & Eric were iconic. I cheered for Leo's hilarious & fun cameos & same with Fenton's. They did justice to my faves who appeared.
The new characters are interesting & fun for the most part. I like that they reference the original characters without being stand-ins. These characters have their own stuff going on & their conflicts are funny & entertaining. It took a while to get me truly invested but I was always entertained. This show has the same funny charm & humor as the original. The chemistry between the main cast & the humor works really well.
KITTY & RED!!!!!!!! This one I'm not even sure if it needs to be explained but god...I just fucking love Kitty & Red Forman so much & seeing them with a house full of teens being their awesome selves filled me with joy. I just fucking love them.
Not a good part or a bad part but something I'm speculating about:
I'm fine with the little last minute Jay Nate Leia Nicky triangle / square whatever & the canon romance drama. It feels similar to early seasons 'That 70's Show' conflicts & I'm certainly entertained. And I like Jay. He's fun & cute & he's totally SUCH a Kelso. But.....
I SWEAR I almost thought there was going to be something canon between Leia & Gwen SEVERAL times. I mean, sure, me shipping the two girls? Yeah, that's typical but it almost felt like there might be something canon there. Their entire dynamic is SO reminiscent of Eric & Donna. The dork who lives next door to the cool girl? The moments on the hood of the Vista Cruiser? Sneaking through windows? I'm not delusional am I like PLEASE tell me y'all saw it too? Also, there's a textual (not even subtextual!) love triangle between Gwen, Jay, & Leia! Leia literally promises them both her time & does the whole sitcom double-booking her afternoon thing. She talks about loving them both! What??? Like....I don't know if I'm crazy but it REALLY feels like the show might just be going somewhere with this if it gets renewed.
Alright, that's all I have for this post! Those are my main reactions to this show.

So there was a Good Omens fan (or two) on Bluesky who questioned Neil Gaiman about having possibly cast nb/trans actors as Aziraphale and Crowley (since they're not human), instead of two cishet men (who play in drag for one sequence where A & C are female-presenting). The answer, I felt, was a little slippery and probably just to halt the whole thing in its tracks. After all, it's a moot point: the show's already cast and that's that. Instead of screenshots, here's the link to the start of the whole thing (just follow the threads, it's...something).
The problem with asking such questions is that it almost never fails for the (cishet) creator to get a little defensive or at least to play it safe and not really answer, and, moreover, for his defenders to speak for him and over him and over others and all but derail the real point of the question: why couldn't he have cast nb/trans actors in the main roles? Then it drags on and the one who asked the question in the first place is sort of belittled because no one understood and people tend to get their backs up when queers question representation....so, yeah, while it was all fairly civil, it didn't really go anywhere, just Gaiman confirming they wouldn't be casting anyone else as A and C in season 3.
Good Omens was published in 1990 by two white men who were part of a generation where white men were the default in pretty much everything (and still are, in pretty much every other thing). 30-odd years later, Gaiman's production of Good Omens doesn't really deviate from the book or its early 90s values (and this is not a criticism of who he cast), but I do wonder: what would this show have been like if an nb/trans creative was charged with a new interpretation? What about BIPOC (no one seems to bothered how A and C and even Gabriel are played by white men)?
I can only ask myself that (and I'm not trans, though the older I get the more I feel closer to nb or at least gender-non-specific idk). I'm not BIPOC, either.
I think I would have cast several different actors in the role, depending on the sequence. Male, female, nb, trans, multi-ethnic. All of the above. They would share certain characteristics (hair color, glasses, clothing, etc), even share mannerisms, but still allow for both characters to add dimensions as we slip through time periods. They're angels and demons, after all.
An animated version would have allowed for a great deal of fluidity in their look, too, and that might have been an interesting way to go.
Ultimately, the limits of the imagination and experience of the person charged with bringing these things to life is going to determine a great deal, and so are the demands of the studios and advertisers. Sometimes you get a little of what you want, sometimes you compromise.
Sometimes you don't get shit, and that's especially true when you're queer (which was kind of the point of the original poster in that thread).
Ultimately, asking non-queer creatives to include us means no response or some progress, if we're lucky: a supporting character, a side character here or there. Gaiman himself has made a point of casting queer performers and having queer characters in his shows (particularly Sandman). A and C are canonically queer. Dream and their siblings are queer af. It's not like this wasn't happening and who can blame him for casting Sheen and Tennant? Regardless of their personal relationships with Gaiman, they really fit *his* vision for *his* show.
So. How would *you* have done it?
And, for pity's sake, leave poor Neil out of it.

MUMBO IS HAVING GAY THOUGHTS MUMBO IS HAVING GAY THOUGHTS AHHHHH Oh that HINT. That INKLING you gave me of Mumbo's protective instinct. Oh my GOD this is gonna be glorious when it stabs me ;)
Also the zombie swimming? The hint of mobs - truly impeccable. A creeper showing up mm mm mm. This is giving me ideas. So many ideas. I love when the minecraft world leeches in just a bit more than usual. And Mumbo going, tearing through the woods, slowly getting more and more concerned until he sees them and they're alright and its like he flicks a light switch so they dont SEE AHHHHHHHHH.
All this talk of dancing is gonna make me request a dancing scene outta you, btw. I need to see them dancing now. I require it to sustain my life at some point down the line. AND THE OH MY GOD SCAR AND CUB YEEEEEEEES So. fun fact. about your local feral mumbo enjoyer. I only got into hermitcraft a month ago, when I watch all of Grian's S9 videos and then immediately ran off to go watch season 6 - I'm almost done with Grian's playlist [Im on ep 90??? I think] but. Convex has my life so im like 👀👀👀 even though this is mumscarian im also just like. Hello there past.
SPEAKING OF PAST, OH MY GOD MUMBO'S RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS WIFE AND CHILD. THE BRAIDING SCENE OF MUMBOS PAST DID ME IN. This throws my thoughts out of order but they are BRAIDING! SCARS! HAIR! BOYS YOU ARE BEING GAY! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA oh my god and poor Scar is just sitting there looking like a tomato. They are braiding scars hair, Grian has a elven engagement hairpiece, he's making a thing w his feathers for mumbo, BOYS YOU'RE GETTING ENGAGED I AM SHAKING ALL THREE OF THEM BY THE SHOULDERS
But also. How they almost talked and then all three of them aborted mission. Good lord. Please. Healthy communication skills are necessary for a long-lasting relationship. And I have a feeling this one is gonna be,,,*long* lasting 👀👀
Oh my god and Mumbo realizing he is having Gay Thoughts TM and just being like "shit. shit." god bless him, he's competent. We love competency.
Mumbo is just one big Gay Thought at this point in time <3 He has Realized something while failing to Realize something else haha <3 My delay in answering this ask was solely so I could stab you with it a little sooner :)
I NEED my minecraft fanfiction to have minecraft story/lore in it thank you very much <3 Will I ever explain the thing with Scars and Creepers? Well. One day sure <3 HAHAHA Mumbo thinks he covered it up so chill meanwhile Scar teases Grian about his boyfriend's first thought waking up being "must find Grian NOW" lmao while simultaneously failing to realize Mumbo was speaking in plurals about them both jfdsklfds
Haha bold of you to assume I don't already have a dancing scene planned <3 YEAH HOW CAN YOU HAVE SCAR AND NO CUB, it was always my intention to make him a childhood friend/sweetheart, unfortunately while Cub obviously isn't a bad person (since obviously I won't make the canon characters bad people <3) his and Scar's relationship did not end on a good note </3 Keep in mind they were teenagers and their communication and coping skills were even WORSE than what Scar has going on now </3 Also haha totally not planning anything for when Cub shows up out of the blue after a certain thing I have planned for Scar-
Mumbo <3 Stuck between the tragedy of the past and the tranquility of the present, his last memory of braiding hair is negative but now he has a new memory of it and braiding Scar's hair has definitely led him to a Realization(TM) <3 THEY ARE BEING SO GAY and they are beautiful while doing it <3 The whole braiding thing is super important trust-wise but also the fact that these are two people Scar is Very Much Attracted To does not help </3 lmao- THAT AWKWARD MOMENT YOU GET ENGAGED BEFORE YOU EVEN REALIZE YOU'RE DATING AMIRITE-
hjfgdskjgf these boys are allergic to serious conversations, and they will continue to abort mission. Except Mumbo, because Mumbo has had a long-ass time to process, and all he has left to do is let go <3 hfhsjfsj Very.... very long-lasting <3
Mumbo is competent enough to realize he is having Gay Thoughts and that Scar might be having Gay Thoughts too, but not competent enough to realize Grian has spent the entire time in Aqua Town in a Gay Panic <3
Apologies if I answered anything badly or wonky it's 3 AM and I spent all day writing a 12k part and now I can't read anymore <3

Summer of Strawberry Shortcake: Best Pets Yet!
And so we begin season two of the 2003 reboot, when it got an actual TV series, but always kept the DVD market in mind, making sure there were two episodes on a theme that could be packaged together with a small bit of connecting animation.
I can see a definite improvement from the previous DVDs, even the menu! To show you what I mean:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
See? It just looks much more polished. And while the first season DVDs only had the bonus music video as an extra, this one also includes some character profiles and a tour of Strawberry's house.
The animation is a little better, and the songs are much zippier this time around (though the last one is kind of boring). While the vocal performances are better, that seems to be due to the main cast being older, as the overall voice direction is still a bit lacking. And the decision to connect two 22 minute stories rather than stretch a plot over 44 minutes helps a lot, too. There are still scenes that move at their own pace, but they're not as noticeable.
The first episode is Here Comes Pupcake, and on its own it's a fine story of Custard dealing with the arrival of Pupcake into her life, but it's just not canon. And the worst part is, it wouldn't be that hard to make it fit into the established canon. There's no sign of Apple Dumplin', so it would be easy to say this story takes place sometime before Meet Strawberry Shortcake, except that in this episode Strawberry already knows her core group of friends, even though according to Meet Strawberry Shortcake she didn't meet any of them until after she owned Pupcake. So all you'd have to do is take out the scenes of her friends to make it work (and eliminate Strawberry's narration that claims this all happened just two weeks ago). But as the episode stands, it's non-canon.
The second episode introduces our first new character of the season: Peppermint Fizz, the first kid character to explicitly be an antagonist in any SSC universe (if you don't count Raisin Cane from the comics). As an antagonist, she does a decent job, but honestly, this story could have played out perfectly fine without her machinations, since the lesson isn't "don't cheat" (that's a future episode) but "all pets are the best because they're our friends." Any of the kids could have suggested having a pet show, and they still could have argued at the end over who did better in the show, only for the pets to show them they like having fun best, as they did in the episode.
Just like Pets on Parade before it, this is the first animated appearance of everyone else's pets, though I'm fairly certain all the pets of the core kids were mentioned on the website as soon as it was put up. Also like Pets on Parade, it includes a reptile lipsynching to a previously recorded track to throw a pet show. (And both Pets on Parade and the previous episode rhyme Custard with mustard in a song.)
The new format includes two songs per episode, regardless of whether it needs them or not, and in the case of this ep, I think one would be just fine. "The Best Pet Yet" is a jaunty tune that acts as a preparation montage for the pet show, but "You're My Berry Best Friend" closes out the episode, so not only is the story basically over, the song itself is seriously slow. Meanwhile, neither of Here Comes Pupcake's songs are strictly speaking necessary, they are at least both fun, with Strawberry singing an incredibly catchy ode to her cat and Custard getting to vent her frustrations against Pupcake in song form.
One last note: I found the "as-aired" scripts for these episodes online, and while they don't include any stage directions (those sometimes offer interesting takes on what's going on onscreen), it does include notes on dialogue and sound effects, which can be interesting, too. Such as Custard's sleep noises being described as "cute kitty snores" and Ginger Snap's dialogue as "90 mph." And Peppermint Fizz's first appearance is supposed to be "like The Grinch." Just some things I found amusing.

I know I just said this in dms but I am convinced that once c!crimes stories both end, it’s gonna be the final blow to the dsmp as a whole (assuming that Quackity, Sam (and sort of Karl) finish their character arcs beforehand, since as of now they have the strongest character lore aside from crimeboys)
Like I know a lot of people don’t wanna hear this and I myself hate admitting it but a good 90% of content anymore is purely headcanon and copium, and nothing that has truly been expressed or possibly ever will be expressed in canon. Most characters in fan content, aside from the ones that actually Are full characters and don’t slip to bad writing and whatnot, are just fans taking those characters and making them better than what the ccs can make.
Lemme be clear though, that making fancontent and making the characters more interesting and developed than canon could possibly ever provide is fine! Every fandom whose source material turned to shit has done this. But since we are all in the dsmp fandom, it’s just really unfortunate that it’s been added to that list.
Ik plenty of fic writers can do this series justice, I always have faith in them. And I know ppl will take inspiration from dsmp to make some of the most amazing shit imaginable.
But as it stands right now, almost no other cc aside from the ones I mentioned above have been able to really do anything interesting with their characters since early s3 and they’ve been shoved into the background and left to the waste side.
I definitely get that feeling. the big exception being characters with rock solid writing who aren't around much or aren't around Anymore (jack manifold, ponk, and slime are some of the best characters on the dsmp, but they aren't likely to carry season four any time soon. I'm gonna put out a missing persons report for c!dream in the next 10 minutes) and people with overall Good writing and characterization who haven't hit their stride with consistent storytelling yet (I've never been disappointed by foolish's writing for instance, and foolish is Around on the server quite often. but it's been a Good While since he really told a Story on the dream smp)
moreover, I think a lot of the new users have promise, they're just struggling to get their footing on a crumbling foundation.
but between dropped story lines, scheduling issues that go on into infinity, streamers deciding that they don't Want to engage with lore anymore, a lack of awareness and communication with other plot lines, and just outright Forgetting your own characterization and character connections we've gotten to the point where very few people feel like they're in character anymore. and the worse this issue gets the less confident I feel in these characters ever having a satisfying conclusion to their character arcs. or even, Character Arcs at all.
I've said it before, but it almost feels like I got tricked into being invested into stories and characters that ultimately did not matter and would never matter again. it's no secret that I started this blog because I was a techno stan, a bedrocker first and person second, and we know how that one turned out for me. but the sheer amount of time that I invested into the egg arc or the enderwalk series cannot be understated. I genuinely thought they were some of the most interesting stories happening on the dsmp and then just fizzled out and died.
the love that I put into clingyduo wasn't rewarded, the last time beeduo was interesting together was when wilbur was writing them, getting truly invested in niki during pogtopia lead to her character stagnating with nothing to do, why did c!puffy go out to buy milk after the red banquet and then never come back. etc etc etc etc
and the worst part about all of it is, I'm still invested. I'm not even just invested in the characters that haven't let me down yet, I Want all of them to be good. I'd gladly Give Them the chance to be good. because I'm some kind of fool

In response to this. I am replying in a new post bc I have the "no sense of brevity" flavor of ADHD so I know this is gonna get long.
@yramesoruniverse thank you so much for asking, as a matter of fact I do have some thoughts *cracks knuckles*
Let me preface this by saying I am not going to sit here and pretend I don't spend 90% of my waking hours ruminating on this. We all know what we're doing here. That being said, I have considered several variations on how I would love the 9-1-1 team to deliver this:
1. Let's call it the "Two Trapped Dads" scenario:
I implore you to consider the ANGST and POETRY of Buck and Eddie getting trapped somewhere, as civilians, and being forced to depend on each other in order to survive. The serve of this hypothetical scenario would be made more rich set in the context of them having had an argument, or just there being some kind of withstanding tension between the two that has been ignored and left to build to a nauseating degree.
(Side note: I love Buck and Eddie because when they fight it's never with any real animosity. It always stems from the terrifying magnitude of their Love for each other. It's not arguing, it's just them caring about each other very aggressively. Absolutely iconic.)
ANYWAY, in this scenario they careen into disaster over Christopher, as I see it playing out that for some reason they believe only one of them will be able to 100% make it out alive. I imagine the tension has been building since the guardianship bomb and Buck regresses to what he believes he does best, which is being a sacrificial lamb, which shoves their moment from 4x14 back into the forefront. It would force Eddie to not only seismically double down on what he said, but literally spell out to Buck what he means to Eddie, not just Christopher.
Example:
Buck: Obviously you're the one that's getting out, you have a son waiting for you.
Eddie: Screw that, you mean just as much to him as I do.
Buck: I'm irrelevant unless you're dead, Eddie, and there is no way I'm letting you die here today.
Eddie: You're such an idiot, Buck. How can you still not get it?
Buck: Get what?
Eddie: We're a family. All three of us. What did you think that whole will thing was about, anyway? Christopher and I . . . there's no us without you.
jfc someone stop me before I write an entire script, but I think you get the gist of this one.
2. Next we have the "Just-Tell-Me-What-You-WANT" scenario:
The Drama Queen in me is obsessed with this one. It would, unfortunately, require a significantly laid foundation between Buck and a love interest (Taylor ig? It's not important, tbh). Originally, I had this scenario flipped, but since we as a fandom have collectively established Eddie as the Pining Idiot in Love, we're gonna switch it up.
So, again, Buck would be progressing significantly in his relationship with [insert intentionally poorly-defined love interest here]. In the fallout of the guardianship scene, I can still see him struggling with how to untangle his Feelings about what Eddie said to him, and losing himself in the disingenuous familiarity of "Buck 1.0" (I am with Eddie in that I hate his software updates but it's canon material so there you go). The escalation of this hypothesis results in Buck contemplating taking the next step with Taylor or, more realistically, contemplating moving out of the city with her as she's been recruited for a promotion elsewhere. I could see Eddie coming over to Buck's place and them discussing this, because they discuss everything, and Eddie just getting more and more exasperated because Buck doesn't look happy but he won't stop and think, he's just barreling ahead as usual. And so Eddie calls him out.
I think it would be something like Eddie going, "What are you even doing? You obviously don't want this."
And Buck being like, "I'm not discussing what I want with you."
and Eddie just exploding, "What? What do you want, Buck? You never express what you really feel so just . . . what do you really want?"
And Buck just going fuck it and grabbing him and pressing years of want and need and love into Eddie's mouth and yeah *fans face* I'm FINE.
3. Finally, the "Wait-For-Me-To-Come-Home" scenario:
Ideally a season finale moment, paralleled to the other couples on the show. The episode would feature a series of calls relating to couples/families experiencing some degree of separation but always finding their way back to each other. At the end there's a montage of Bathena, Madney, Mavid, Henren etc. reuniting after some sort of contention and then it would stop on Buck alone in his apartment, sitting at his table identical to what we saw in Tsunami Pt. 2, completely overwhelmed by how quiet it is and how alone he feels. And maybe Buck is considering something he heard on one of the calls. Whatever the situation, it ends with him heading to Eddie's house and it's late, like two in the morning late, and the final scene is Buck knocking on Eddie's door looking wild-eyed and desperate and there's no dialogue, just them. And Eddie opens the door wider and steps back as Buck steps in and they just stand a breath's distance away, just staring at each other, and then Eddie closes the door and everything fades to black and *flings myself off a cliff*
Bonus: I call this the "Fever Dream" scenario because I dreamt it when I was, in fact, feverish and hallucinating after my second COVID vaccine:
Buck is out running an errand before going into work and ends up in a robbery situation where he obviously intervenes and ends up getting hurt. The episode would open with the 118 being unable to reach Buck and ragging on him, and the first call they respond to is, indeed, Buck on the verge of death. The rest of the episode would then show the sequence of events leading up to that moment and finish with Buck and Eddie in the back of the ambulance, and Buck just touches Eddie's face, or wraps his fist around the St. Christopher necklace hanging around Eddie's neck, and Eddie is Not Handling Things and then Buck flatlines in the back of the ambulance and jfjdsaldflja somebody stop me before I write a fic *flings myself off another cliff*
As you can see I haven't thought about this much at all. Also, you deserve a fucking award if you made it to the end of this.
I have buddie brainrot! They're actually ruining my life! I have lost control! I'm doing GREAT!!!
