SKAM!!!! Omg I love skam so much!!!! 🥹
I hope you know that like a ton of different versions exist for it, each for their own country, like Skam France and Skam Germany, each with their own little twist. I was obsessed with it back in the day!
(btw this is dream anon again hi. again sry for the false alarm premonition dream 😔 maybe next time)
me too 😭 only watched the original/norwegian since it was really big here 😌 (neighbor country ✌️ and quite similar languages so reading the text message updates/social media posts as they came out was no problem)
it's one of those shows i still re-watch regularly 💗💗💗 and i need isak and even's upside down kiss to happen in ofmd ok it's the best explanation i can imagine for the s2 poster 🤸

I just realised that all the media I adore has some level of autistic/neurodivergent coding and it's been that way since I was a child.
And like, oftentimes their different way of perceiving and being in the world is the driving force of the story/and or a crucial element in it.
There’s the canon example of the entire Camp Halfblood (ADHD), where the ADHD is literally what keeps the characters alive.
There's Dean Winchester (ADHD) whose hyperfixations are typically masculine (as well as geeky) and who never sits still, with the added bonus of Castiel (Autism), who Dean just... accepts, in a way I rarely see.
Then there’s the infamous Will Graham (Autism) whose hyperempathy is litterally the focal point of the entire narrative.
We have Haru from Free! (Autism), whose special interest (swimming) is the motivating factor for several other characters.
Reki and Langa from Sk8 the infinity (Autism), who share a special interest and grow a special bond because of it.
There's Sai from Hikaru No Go (Autism), who trancedented time and space to play Go (special interest) and whose special interest sets the story into motion.
We have any version of Sherlock Holmes (AuDHD), who's brilliance I attribute to a mixture of hyperfixations and special interest in crime solving. His conflicts with society and disregard of social norms are a central theme as well.
There's Anne with an E (Autism), who loves words and stories and speaks before she thinks (where all major problems arise due to her lack of understanding for social norms)
We have Pat and Pran from Bad Buddy (ADHD + Autism), like I dunno, I just really felt that vibe.
There's Beth Harmon from Queen's Gambit (Autism) with her special interest in Chess.
And like, the list goes on: Daryl Dixon, Jon Snow, Kotaro from Kotaro Lives Alone, Will Treaty from the Ranger's apprentice, Hal from the same author, Katniss Everdeen, Si-eun from Weak Hero Class 1, etc.
Don't get me wrong I've consumed plenty of stories without characters coded this way, but all the stories that truly resonated with me? Neurodivergent, all of them.
It's probably because the focus on social norms/hierarchy always seemed foreign to me. Eg. I like Skam but it's like a view into a completely foreign world where people function differently.

the korean web drama Fragile that was first announced as korean remake of Skam and then was retracted as such and advertised as its own show (with similar model of airing and themes) premiered
i skimmed through episode 1 and plainly, it is Skam. not just similar or reminds of, but a really damn faithful adaptation of the show, remade with korean filming style and mood. the story, characters' profiles and traits, relationships, the storytelling style (like intro speech about societal problems of high schoolers), showing the date of events in the beginning of a clip, the airing model with bonuses on social media, it's all identical. we have a korean Eva with horrible insecurities and loneliness, korean Ingrid who makes her feel like shit in classes, her boyfriend korean Jonas whose affection she is so unconfident about
korean Isak is very possessive of korean Jonas and his feelings can be seen like 5 kilometers away so i assume if it's renewed for more seasons we will see a gay storyline later too
korean Noora briefly appeared in the middle of the episode too and seems to be as cool as the original which thank god, korean Eva is gonna need her influence badly
if anyone is a Skam fan and wanted to watch back when it was announced and got discouraged when it was retracted as a remake, you can do it. as long as they don't suddenly go completely different way in episode 2, it's Skam Korea

#SAVEPRISMA
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, Ludovico Bessegato, director of Prisma, announced today that the Prisma has been cancelled by Prime, concluding with its second season. He noted that a third season had already been written and was highly promising, but Prime made the decision to cancel the series due to unsatisfactory viewership figures. Therefore, I would like to kindly ask you to help us out by signing and sharing this petition: https://chng.it/DpDG4k5RBF which takes a few seconds to fill in and submit.
Italians were able to save a show once before - SKAM Italia, maybe this can happen again if we put enough work, spread the word, rewatch the show on Prime and generally talk about it on social media, using hashtags #prismalaserie and #saveprismalaserie . It's is a very important show and means a lot to many people, in Italy and outside of Italy. Visually and story-wise, there's nothing quite like this. Please, let's try to get this show the third season, which they deserve to have.

new follower of BV here. i went down a massive rabbit hole the past 48 hours and i can confidently say that watching all their videos in continuity, there was a certain time when things started to spice up HEAVILY 😁😁
Everyone loves a good story and BV's partnership has a lot of contemporary tropes that would have booktok in a chokehold.
Enemies (okay, competitors) to friends: Look up the JGP Baltic Cup and JGP Courchevel II '21.
Friends to partners: Instant chemistry even from the very first reel they posted (x).
First and foremost, Bella and Vanya are performers. Bella knows how to leverage social media. Her first viral reel and most content up to that point were beautiful skating and some cool ice dance elements - nothing *too spicy*. From then on, I too did notice a shift towards reels that were geared towards virality 🤣
Ice dance is a discipline that shipbaits with ✨romantic chemistry✨ so none of us are surprised. That being said, no one in the ice dance scene is making content with these close proximity partner lifts, spins, choreo elements, so Bella is profiting over being the pioneer in this field. USFS, take notes. (S/N 🕯️BV SKAM 🕯️)
I'll not speculate on anything that isn't public information. They look great doing what they do, the chemistry is sizzling, and we're loving it.
Bonus last trope: They're the underdogs and everyone is rooting for them. 😌

Hi! I’m interested in writing a realistic teen fiction novel set in high school, focusing on multiple students and their everyday lives both within and outside of school. I want the story to feel like you're reading someone's diary, similar to shows like Freaks and Geeks, Skam, and My Mad Fat Diary. Sooo, any prompts or ideas to help me get started? Or advice? Anything will do! Thank you so much!
The challenge or writing realistic teen fiction when you're not a teenager is quite high. You always run the risk of outdated references, incorrect slang, and overall awkward writing.
DO go for universal experiences. Teenagers throughout the ages deal with the challenges of dating, parental conflict, pressures to get the highest scores or hang out with the right crowd. Kids are going to go through the same experiences no matter how much the world changes. Tap into those emotions and think about what you went through as a teen. How do you project those experiences and emotions onto your character? Could you give them similar challenges? Put them through situations you managed to avoid? Lean on what you know.
DO treat your characters with respect. Yes, even the guy who smokes too much weed has a much richer inner life than you may put to paper. You don't have to give every character a ten-page backstory and a showcasing scene, but do be sure to give depth to both your main characters and antagonists. Don't brush off their concerns or values - even if you think fighting over a prom date is silly in hindsight - as unimportant.
DO focus on setting and specifics. Where your story is based and what's going on in the environment is going to vastly impact what issues your teen characters will face. Some teens may face issues with drugs and environmental violence. Others will have more experience with dealing with online bullying. A lot of teens are far more used to LGBTQ peers and more accepting environments, but that doesn't mean issues of racism, transphobia, and homophobia have gone away. Where you set your story and what's going on in the environment around it are going to be really important when it comes to coming off as genuine.
And a few don'ts...
DON'T chase the latest trends. There are a lot of things that will date your work within the year, if not months. Twitter is nearly as dead as MySpace, no one says 'on fleek' anymore, and the latest iPhone is not going to sound impressive if someone reads your story two years from now. That isn't to say you should social media or cell phones entirely - that would be silly - or that you should try to disguise them by using some made-up name. Neither would really work. If TikTok is going to be in your characters' lives, talking about it even with a casual line is a better option than pretending it doesn't exist. But if you hinge your plot entirely on TikTok drama, and by the time your book or story comes out no one uses TikTok anymore, you'll be shooting yourself in the foot. Play it safe and lean into generics if your story heavily involves online behavior ('some stranger is sending me DMs' versus 'I'm being bullied via my Discord server's soundboard').
DON'T appropriate experiences that aren't yours. It's really tempting to project what you feel about current events into teen characters, and it's not wrong to write really passionately about something that affects both you and your teenage characters, but think it through. Does your white character single-handedly resolve racism in their school? That's just not going to happen. Is your character's heroic moment tackling the school shooter before he kills someone? Take a long step back and think about what these moments mean for the teens that go through them. You run the real risk of making their lives seem trite and meaningless by presenting an easy solution to a complex problem. A teenage hero with a sword may save a kingdom in a fantasy novel, but in the modern world, dealing with bigotry and violence are complicated issues that require solidarity, collective action, and allyship, not savorism.
DON'T cut corners by making your characters 'really into 80s music' or similar anachronistic interests. Listen, I know this is painful, but as popular as Stranger Things is, your teens characters are probably not listening the Best of the 80s on a regular basis when not in the car with their parents (or, uh, grandparents). They're likely not really into TLC, I doubt they can name all the Spice Girls. You may think you're giving them a funny quirk by having them be really into something you know a lot about, but you risk alienating your audience. I've put down more than one YA book because the author couldn't explain why her teen character loved U2, but couldn't name Taylor Swift if she tried. This... doesn't work. You may not listen to Doja Cat or Charli XCX, but you're doing yourself and your characters a disfavor in not considering who the artist or actor they care about is, and why. Figuring out what your characters are into can be really worth the insight it brings. You can, of course, skip pop culture for the most part if your plot doesn't touch it - but don't believe for a second your characters don't know who Ariana Grande is, c'mon.
Angie Thomas's THE HATE THAT U GIVE is a classic for a lot of reasons, but a big part of it is that she's able to juggle all of the above without coming off as insincere or contrite. Her main character knows that dealing with police violence is complicated. Tupac Shakur's music plays an important part of the book because it's relevant to the character and her experiences, not just because it's something the author knew well. And Starr Carter didn't save the world from the problems plaguing her, but she did take a stand against them. Angie Thomas's work is a masterclass in understanding how teenagers think even if you aren't one, and I'd recommend reading them to get a feel for how to handle a teenage voice.

Stela, how have you been? It’s been so long it’s actually crazy. I know I could’ve just DM’ed you but there is just something so nostalgic about sending asks that I had to do it.
There is always at least one day a year when I reminisce about my tumblr days and you’re always one of the first people to pop up in my mind.
Sometimes I really miss it here, but I guess it will never be like the time when we were in the skam fandom, since everyone had absolutely nothing to do during the pandemic. I think it was really nice that we created a world of our own here and it really got me through those tough times.
Sorry for the rant, I don’t even know what I’m talking about anymore, I always feel like using tumblr again, but then I get here and get kinda sad due to all the nostalgia and feeling that it will never be the same. It’s so weird that a “rede social” (ops não sei como falar em inglês) can make me feel this way.
Well, at least I’m always glad to see that your still somewhat active. Always wishing you the best <3
Saudades.

Juuuuuuuu!
Hello, friend! Thank you for remembering me 🥹
Wow... I can't even recall when was the last time someone sent me an Ask. Nostalgic INDEED!
But it's so good to hear from you again! I really hope you are thriving, living the best life and super busy being happy 🖤
As for me, a lot changed since the Golden Days of Skam France fandom... I got a job, but I don't know if I already told you that, and then I quite said job last year after almost three years of silent hating kkkkkkkkkk
And I move to Australia to study English. I'm living here for five months now. And it's been... an adventure... let's put it that way kkkkkkkkkk
Oh, and I have a new obsession now. I believe you have noticed, but I was hooked by a 8 member K-pop boy group 🫣 (and 1 of them in particular stole my heart and he's keeping it captive since then 🫣🫣)
Ah... now I really miss the old days. We had a beautiful community in here, it was trully special. And I agree with you, I don't think we can recreat the same space again. But I treasure the memory of our little bubble. People like to trash talk the internet and social media, but we would never find each other without tumblr (and our matching obsession) and for that I will always be gratefull!
Ju, thank you so much for the warm hug that was this ask 🥹🫂🖤✨
Sending you lots and lots and lots of love!
Saudades

Narrative Frameworks in Only Friends
Something I have been tracking as part of the ongoing discussions about Only Friends is the use of the narrative framework for each episode.
So, I’m making this list specifically for tracking purposes, to note which framework was used for which episodes, if they repeat, and what they may be paying homage to. The goal is to update it every week. Due to suggestions, I am also tracking the end credit scenes, as well as any specific visual or audio formats used in the episodes.
Frameworks so far:
1. Voiceovers: gives the audience specific insight into a characters thoughts and feelings; also a great way to provide exposition. It’s more of an audio than visual framework, as we don’t always see the character doing the voice-over because it plays over other scenes.
2. “Talking Heads” (is there a better descriptor for this?): The characters talk directly to the camera, interview/documentary style. We get to see exactly how they feel about a given moment because they are reacting to it at that time. Audio and visual. Homage to Love8009 (per P'Jojo).
3. Social Media (ft The Artist Formerly Known as Twitter as well as Instagram): Not as insightful as the other two frameworks but does give context and a way for interaction, commentary, and exposition on a given plot. Visual. Probable homage to Together With Me, one of the first spicy BLs starring our kings, MaxTul.
Episode 1
Framework: Voiceover
Title: What’s Your Role in a Bar?
Narrator: Mew
Visual Moment: Yellow title cards listing everyone's "roles" as well as the month and days of the week in episode one (homage to SKAM Norway? Open to thoughts on this)
End Credit Shot: Mew sitting on the floor in front of his fish tank
Episode 2
Framework: Talking Heads
Title: M.F.M My Favorite Man
Narrator: Everyone
Visual Moment: The talking heads scenes
End Credit Shot: Ray driving
Episode 3
Framework: Social Media (Twitter and Instagram)
Title: What Am I to You?
Narrator: Nick and Boston
Audible Moment: Nick listening to the TopBoston sex audio
End Credit Shot: Nick listening to TopBoston sex audio
Episode 4
Framework: Voiceover
Title: Emergency Contact
Narrator: Ray
Visual Moment: The flashback of RayMew is in 4:3 ratio; meaning it looks like recorded footage versus a memory
End Credit Shot: Ray driving (repeat from episode 2)
Episode 5:
Framework: Voiceover
Title: The Extra Hour
Narrator: Sand
Visual Moment: Intro and Outro are animated; black and white (made me think of the Take on Me MV by A-ha but I’m open to suggestions on what this might be referring to)
End Credit Shot: Sand driving his motorcycle
Episode 6:
Framework: None
Title: Happy Fucking Birthday
Narrator: None
Audible Moment: Ray listens to the TopBoston sex audio; Mew plays the TopBoston sex audio for Top
Visual Moment: Top draws Mew sleeping/gives Mew a book of drawings he did of Mew
End Credit Shot: Top in his bathtub alone looking angsty
If anyone can think of anything else to add, please let me know! If you would like to be tagged in this post or any other meta, let me know and I’ll add you.
Tagging the Ephemerality Squad: @lurkingshan, @waitmyturtles, @wen-kexing-apologist, @chickenstrangers, @ranchthoughts, @twig-tea, @clara-maybe-ontheroad, @distant-screaming
Apologies to anyone I forgot!

BV has been fanning the flames of the "will they won't they" vibes recently (see the recent reels). I'd say even their coach is in on this. Do you think implied romantic chemistry will help their packaging as as an ice dance team? Ideally, it shouldn't but Bella's social media popularity (along with their strong skating of course) puts them at an advantage for that SKAM TBD spot. We all know Bock will win 😂 I personally think BV would score better than N/M. You reckon USFS will focus on selling more tickets (LOL) and prefer them over WolfTsar?
Keeping up the "will they/won't they" does keep the audiences interested especially if they're outsiders but you absolutely have to maintain those eyes on you with excellent scores. Which B&V have the potential to obtain.
Sadly, social media presence isn't really a factor when it comes to getting assignments. It helps them with finding sponsors to pay for their skating expenses ofc but the only thing that's gonna get them more and better assignments is great scores.
However, Bella is the first ice dancer to have gained this much popularity not just as a skater in her level but also in general. She has more followers than any other currently competing ice dancer (maybe even figure skater in general). Fact check me on this if I'm wrong but she's in a league of her own when it comes to social media presence. So if usfigureskating and the ISU want to spread the word about figure skating, they'd be smart to push Bella to the front (over WolfTsar).

Would you rank the skam wlw seasons? and could you justify the rankings? I am interested in your opinion. sorry my english :)
Your English is fine! And sorry for the late reply, I just finished s2 of skam españa so that I can answer this properly
1. Fatou (Druck s6)- now this is me being completely biased, but watching Fatous season live honestly was so life changing, I've never seen a black main character be so portrayed in a beautiful and caring way in Germany, and I honestly adore Fatou. I love that her season didn't deal with a coming out, but that she was already an out and proud lesbian, and I honestly LOVE how they portrayed her and Kieu Mys culture. For me, when it comes to black sapphics and sapphics of colour, I feel like they always make their culture a point of conflict, but with Fatou and Kieu My, their sexualities and culture could just coexist without any problem, and that is so special to me. And I absolutely love Kieu My, I love how well fleshed out she is, how we learn more and more about her throughout the season, and how she's more than what she portrays, how she just wants to be seen and not have to be perfect and please everyone all the time, how much pressure she puts upon herself just to make everyone happy, and so much more, I also love how they used her social media to document how and when exactly Kieu My stopped performing and started ro just be herself. Also back to the culture, I loved how they referenced Fatous, Kieu Mys and Avas cultures, it felt like it was made for bipoc watchers, and not to educate the white audience, and that is what made it so authentic imo, because as a black person, I don't need explanation for certain things, like for example when ava explained how mailin behaved at the protest, I immediately understood why she was bothered by it, and so did fatou, and that was realistic, its the small things, but that made me relate to the characters so much more, or when fatou face timed her relatives and relied on her dad to translate to her, these moments are so special to me. I also love the symbolism throughout the season, from Kieu My being the axolotl and Fatou the tortoise to the astrology references to Kieu My being the ice queen and Fatou the warmest person ever, how well they complemented etc etc. Also: " Kieu My, du bist so schön. Ich hab mir ne Liste gemacht an Dingen die so schön an dir sind. Wie du zum beispiel immer deine ohren hinter deinen haaren versteckst, wie du so eng mit deiner Familie bist, und dass du so krass gut mit Horrorfilmen bist. Aber am meisten lieb ich wenn du lachst. Weil dann seh ich dich. Und wie viel liebe in dir ist."Like hello???? Also, the entirety of Sonntag, 13:28, and how they related and bonded with each other through their experiences of being a child in an immigrant family. Generally, I love how much care was put into this season, and that's why Fatous s6 and kieutou will always be on top for me. Also, it's the remake where I don't need any translations for lol
2. Anaïs (Wtfock)- now I know the writing has been disappointing since ep7, but honestly, I am sosososososo grateful to have Anais as a main character in a skam remake. I honestly love her, I love how loyal, caring, and kind she is, and there's nothing that could make me hate her, like that's my nigerian sister, I honestly never thought that we'd get nigerian sapphic rep, and I'm so here for it. As for Anobbie, I love how their development was shown from ep1 to 6, especially ep3, that ep felt like it was straight out of a rom com, from anobbie fleeing together from that Fries place and getting closer to the subtle flirting of Bobbie, to Bobbie looking out for and helping out Anais at the party and with her friends drinking away her dads alcohol, to Bobbie opening up to Anais about her dad and showing her the place where her fathers ashes were sprayed, to Anais and Bobbie getting closer, to Anais arranging a date meeting with bobbie, to Anais playing "I'm gonna make you love me" and making Bobbie dance with her, to Bobbie finally kissing her, like it was so beautiful to watch. Also, I love how anobbie complements eachother and how theyre exactly what the other person needs, Bobbie makes Anais feel free and able to stand up for herself and feel like she's herself, and Anais makes Bobbie feel safe and provide a sense of stabilty, they really adore eachother and would go to great lengths to protect eachother, and I honestly love to see it. Also they reminded me a lot of kieutou, and alone for that they're high on the list. Also, just like Kieu My, I love how fleshed out Bobbie is as a love interest, she's such an interesting character that you want to know more of, and whether you love her or hate her, you pay attention to her, that's how interesting she is and im so here for it. And after druck, they're the remake where I need the least amount of translation for lol
3. Cris- (skam españa s2)- I just finished watching it, and omg, crisana literally invented gay staring, from their first meeting their eye contact was so insane, it got me giggling and kicking my feet lol. I really liked the season, I loved how reassuring and supportive Cris friend group is, how they were there for her every single time she had problems with Joana, and generally they seem like such a sweet friend group, and now i see why they're most peoples fave girl squad. As for crisana, they were so cute, I love how much they adored eachother, and I really love how reassuring cris was with joana at the end, telling her that she won't run away and that she'll be there for her. I also loved howbwe could see just how much cris cared for joana, like she cried in almost every single clip after joana disappears. honestly sometimes forgot that this was an evak remake lol, but I think it did the OG justice
4. Lola (skam france s6)- I don't remember much from lolas seasons except that it was veeeeryy dark, and that she could never catch a break, like why did they make her suffer so much? I feel like her and Maya could've had more development because their relationship felt rushed to me, but they were really cute, and I really love the scene where Maya draws on lola while she's laying there crying, it feels to intimate and special. Also, just like Bobbie, Lola is a polarising character, and I love those types of characters, especially female ones
5. Maya (skam france s9)- this never happened, mayla are still happily together while they work on their issues through proper communication, lola never broke up with Maya, and they still have their tattoo together
But honestly, this was so disappointing, the first time a LI got a season, and then we don't even learn anything about the LI at the end, it feels they just made the season to have an excuse to break up mayla, but we already knew that
