''There is this one name that comes up a few times in the song credits,'' Jimmy puts the cover art of her new album down, ''Jules Perceval.'' He reads out loud, a humorous grin on his face.
Y/N nods her head, already knowing where this was going. ''Yes, Jules Perceval.'' She confirms.
''Your fans are quite confused on who this person is, because it's the first time they've shown up in your album credits and they have a lot of theories so can you confirm who Jules Perceval is?'' Her publicist had already confirmed with Jimmy's team that they had permission to ask about the mystery person that had producing credits on her new body of work.
The singer laughs as the audience reacts enthusiastically. ''Yes, I can,'' she mischievously smiles at Jimmy who claps his hands, ''Jules Perceval is a pseudonym for my boyfriend.'' As soon as the words left her mouth, the crowd started applauding and making 'ooh'- noises.
''Your boyfriend? Is he a composer or?'' The host grows more curious at the revelation that it's her significant other.
She shakes her head. ''No, he's actually a, uh, race car driver.'' Y/N chuckles, Jimmy's surprised face amusing her greatly.
''A race car driver? Wow, that's quite a contrast,'' he laughs, the audience giggling along with him, ''how did you guys end up working together? Because your jobs are vastly different.'' He asks, putting his cards down.
''It wasn't planned, but Charles- my boyfriend- he loves playing the piano and he's been doing that for years, and one day he was just playing around on it and not taking it very seriously, but he played this certain melody that caught my attention,'' she explained, ''I asked him to play it again, recorded it on my phone and I send it to my producer that I usually work with.''
''He sent a more worked out version of the melody back and that's how it came about.'' She finished her explanation.
Jimmy and the audience looked impressed. ''That's amazing! And why did he decide to use a pseudonym and not his real name?''
''We wanted people to listen to the song without having any higher expectations simply because he was in the credits.'' Y/N answers, diplomatically.
''Jules Perceval sounds very fancy,'' Jimmy smiled, gathering some laughs from the crowd, ''did you come up with that or did your boyfriend?''
''That was all him,'' she grinned, ''his godfather is named Jules and one of his middle names is Perceval so that's how the name came about.'' Y/N remembers clearly how proud Charles looked as he told her and her team which name he wanted to be credited under.
''I love that! Well, if the racing doesn't work out, he has another profession he can get right into.'' Jimmy teased, leaning his arms on the desk.
Y/N giggled, hiding her face in her hands. ''I'll tell him that.''
Tumblr media
''So… I can quit racing, huh?'' Charles' tired voice sounded over the phone, the mischief still present.
Y/N snorted at his greeting. ''You watched the interview then, I thought you might be too busy to watch it.''
''Of course I saw it, it was your first time on the show- I couldn't miss it.'' His words melted her heart, touched by the fact that he still took the time to watch her interview despite being busy in Italy with simulator work.
''I really appreciate it, honey- I hope you're doing well, you sound very tired.'' His voice was a bit deeper than usual, indicating just how exhausted he was.
She could hear him chuckle on the other side. ''I'm fine, chérie,'' he assured her, ''it was just a long day, that's all.''
Y/N was about to reply, but her manager waved her hands in front of her face. ''I'm sorry, we have to go now.'' She whispered, pointing at the door of the dressing room.
''You have to go, huh?'' Charles sighed.
''Yeah,'' the singer pouted, disappointed the couple didn't get to call for at least a few more minutes, ''I'll call you later, though.''
''It's okay, mon amour,'' despite not seeing him, she was sure he was smiling, ''I'm always proud of you, okay? I'm thinking of you.'' The driver let her know the words in his heart.
''I'm thinking of you too- I love you.'' Y/N bid him goodbye.
''Je t'aime.''

The Red Darling
🖤 Pairing: Yandere! Vil Schoenheit x Female! Reader
💛 Word Count: 2,7k+
❤ Warnings: -
[Edited]
Do not re-upload my writing to another website or use it without my permission. Also, don’t ask for a sequel unless I like the story enough to write one. Please reblog so other people can see my stories!
***
I’ve been obsessed with Luz’s song called Darling Blue. The storyline is still confusing to me, but the old song vibes is just *chef’s kiss* I might just write the Neige version. Also, Epel here isn’t/wasn’t Vil’s junior.
Tumblr media
“Honestly, how could she neglect her own health like this?”
Vil sighed as he exited the Magicam that once showed the video of you signing your albums to the fans. It wasn’t the first time he’d watched it, nor was it the first video he’d ever watched, but it wasn’t what he focused on the most. It was your sluggish movements, your droopy eyes, your stifled yawns, and your fatigued smiles. Your fans might not see those signs, or they might choose to ignore them, but he did see and he did pay attention.
After all, Vil Schoenheit was your biggest fan.
Despite your imperfect voice, he admired how you always strived to improve yourself. He, out of all people, knew perfection didn’t exist yet he chose to be the best version of himself anyway. Although, there was a lingering regret that Vil wasn’t able to find and support you from the beginning of your career. Regardless, he wasn’t too late. He was there when you performed in a small stage, and he was there when you performed in a bigger stage.
But it seemed that you tried too hard this time.
Pressing a certain number, Vil put the phone to his ear.
“Hello, Adella. When is [Name]’s next concert?”
“Huh? This is the first time you ask that kind of thing.”
“Just tell me already.”
“Wait, let me check.” There was a momentary pause, and Vil tapped his foot impatiently. “It’s on the second week next month. Why?”
“I need the VIP ticket.”
“What?!”
“Do not make me repeat myself, Adelle.”
“O-oh, of course. I’ll purchase the ticket and send it to you as soon as possible.”
“Good, thank you. I’ll be sure to repay the money.”
He turned off the call before she could utter another word and huffed. Honestly, why was she so surprised? It wasn’t as if he’d ever hidden his fondness for you, even if he didn’t particularly gush over you like many of your fans did.
Stroking the photo of you smiling to the camera with a microphone in hand, while the crowd was cheering on you from below the platform, Vil leaned forward and kissed your face. It was his favorite photo due to the perfect mixture of spotlight and sweat that illuminated your glowing features.
And very soon, he’d be able to see it from up close.
***
You sighed wistfully as you stared at the photos of you and your ex, Epel. Your relationship used to be a secret, as it should, due to his status as a mere apple juice merchant. But, suddenly, a news broke out that one of his products was apparently poisoned and it froze the victim until morning. They sued him, and although it was fortunate that he didn’t get imprisoned, Epel still lost a significant amount of money and fame. You tried to help him, because you knew he was planning to propose you, but Epel feared for your futures.
And, thus, he decided to break up with you.
You were devastated, although deep down, you were still in denial of his charges. Epel was the type to pick a fight with someone if they pissed him off rather than poisoning them. Not ‘manly’, he’d say. And yet, even that wasn’t enough to save your relationship. Wasn’t enough to make him believe in you the same way you did in him. Not because he didn’t want to, but because he couldn’t. Too much was at stake here, and no matter how much you tried to convince him that you could be the breadwinner later on, he still refused. For him, a job was another part of his pride.
And now, not even his apple cutting skills could save him from shame. Internally and externally.
So, you threw yourself to work. You practiced day and night, all to forget the depression that crept up on you when there was no music as a distraction and to avoid your manager’s scolding. There was only so much she could tolerate from you, and isolating yourself in your room might just be the end of her patience. The exhaustion shook your body, worsened by the starvation caused by your diet, but you forced yourself to smile. To your fans, and now…
“Vil Schoenheit will be attending your concert later as a VIP. Please show your best self.”
To him.
It wasn’t as if you hated him. Oh, no. If you looked at it from another angle, his perfectionism was admirable. He showed and deserved nothing less. In fact, you could even say you preferred him than Neige. But today was different. Today, you were at your worst self. You didn’t even know if you could survive five minutes on the stage. What would the Vil Schoenheit think of you, then? Being the second most famous actor in Twisted Wonderland was bound to sway some opinions easily, and after all the hard work you’d put in, you didn’t know how to handle the breakdown should you fail to impress him later on.
And you succeeded, even if it was just barely. Otherwise, your manager wouldn’t have told you that he was waiting for you at his private room. At the very least, you managed to stand and smile at the crowd and cameras earlier. It was still an achievement in itself, no matter how petty it seemed.
“Excuse me, Schoenheit? My manager said you want to talk to me.”
“Oh, yes. Come here, and don’t call me Schoenheit. It looks like you’re calling my father instead.”
You tittered and sat down beside him with enough distance to be appropriate.
“So, what do you want to talk about?”
“I’ll be honest, you didn’t reach the high note in your first song.”
You flinched, not expecting the abrupt comment. You knew you made a lot of mistakes, especially recently, but it still stung.
“I-I see. I was trying, though.”
“I know, but your exhaustion has hindered your performance. I expect you to take care of yourself the same way you do to your work.”
He was right, but it didn’t mean you could accept it easily. It wasn’t as if you overworked yourself because you wanted to, anyway.
“… Yes, thank you for your advice, Schoen– I mean, Vil.”
“Don’t just thank me. You should apply it from now on.”
“Of course.”
Somehow, he made you feel as if he was your manager. Or, worse, your mother.
“Therefore, I decided to bring you to dinner with me. Regardless of your mistakes, you still did your best for the sake of your fans. So you deserve a nice meal, at the very least.”
You wondered how many whiplash you’d get from him. First, he suddenly attended your concert as a VIP. Then, he judged your performance so harshly. And now, he invited you to dinner? No, you realized, it wasn’t an invitation. It was an order. And the restaurant wasn’t a typical five star one, either.
No, it was the kind that took months just for a reservation.
Luckily, Vil didn’t talk much during mealtime. He ate calmly and gracefully, savoring each bite. You felt even more conscious of your table manner, and you clumsily tried to follow everything he did. You weren’t sure if you should be flattered or embarrassed when he huffed in amusement.
“Let’s go to my house. I just bought [flavor] tea and I want you to taste them.”
You wondered where did he find out that you liked that particular flavor. Did you tell it to your fans and you happened to forget? If so, then did that mean he was your fan too? The thought flattered you. Of course, it was only logical considering he came to your concert. Still, all of his invitations had been startling despite being a fan. Maybe because he was also as popular as you, if not more.
“You have a lovely home.” you remarked, glancing around the spotless living room.
“Of course. A tidy house reflects a tidy mind.”
You smiled bemusedly, too accustomed by forced humility that his confident answer surprised you a bit. And yet, you found that it suited him very well. He wasn’t lying, anyway, so he deserved to feel proud of himself. You could learn a thing or two about not putting yourself down too much.
“Sit down. I’m going to prepare the tea for a moment.”
The couch was plush and comfy, and after all the whirlwind of activities and the fatigue that came with it, you might as well be falling asleep here.
Luckily, you had a stronger self-control than that.
Your back immediately straightened up when Vil returned with a tray of porcelain cups depicting the poisoned apples. Despite his conduct befitting that of a queen, his elegance when he poured the tea from the teapot was no less amazing.
You sipped the tea as silently and slowly as you could, savoring the flavor and warmth as if it was your last drink. You’d refused the wine from the restaurant earlier, fearing that you’d make a fool out of yourself by getting drunk. It didn’t matter if you could hold up your alcohol well; Vil’s presence demanded only perfection.
“How does it taste like?”
“Refreshing. The scent really calms down my nerves.”
It wasn’t a lie; it did recompose you, even slightly.
“I’m glad you think so. I’ve been wanting to taste this as well.”
You wondered why he didn’t do it himself, but you supposed that drink, just like food, was more delicious and memorable with company.
“Um, may I use the restroom?”
“It’s the third door on the right.”
You passed the kitchen, where the window displayed the darkening sky. Not from the moon, but from the upcoming rain. Hastily, you did your business in fear of being staying over for too long. It smelled vaguely of apple, and the yellow light illuminated the sparkling bathroom. Branded toiletries lined up neatly in the cabinet, and the towels were meticulously white.
It wasn’t until you spotted a slightly ajar door did you stop on your tracks.
Now, of course, you knew curiosity killed the cat. And, in this case, the cat was your job. But when your gut feeling compelled you to approach the room, and see your pictures pinned on the dressing mirrors, you knew it was simultaneously a good and bad thing to do. One of them was you smiling to the camera with a microphone in hand, while the crowd was cheering on you from below the platform. There seemed to be a few lipstick marks on it, cementing Vil’s position as your fan. While the other was a photo of you and Epel, with an X sign crudely slashed onto his face.
It was your anniversary photo, and you wore your best camouflage outfit at that time, so how did he have it? Did the paparazzi stalk you without your knowledge and send it to him somehow? It had to. You couldn’t think of any other possibility.
But the question was why? Why would he have that? You thought he’d at least understand how hard it was to date someone, being a celebrity himself. And yet, the sign on Epel’s face suggested that he didn’t understand, let alone accept it.
He couldn’t accept it.
“Don’t you know that it’s rude to peek into someone’s room?”
You froze, and for a split second, you were tempted to rush inside and slam the door on his face. But that would be a suicidal move, wouldn’t it? It was his room, after all, and he could easily find a key to unlock the door.
“V-Vil,” you tittered. “I’m sorry. Did you wait long?”
The said man squinted at you.
“Long enough to catch a mouse lingering near a place where it shouldn’t be.”
“I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to be rude, I swear! I was just–”
Curious? Nosy? There was no point in defending yourself, and he knew that. So, you sighed heavily as your shoulders sagged in resignation.
“Why… do you have my photo?” you asked, almost whispering. “The one with my… friend. It was supposed to be a private event. You–” you paused, already doubting your impromptu decision to confront him. Was it even worth digging your grave for the sake of your practically nonexistent privacy? “You shouldn’t have that.”
Vil was quiet for a moment, but you didn’t dare to look up. He didn’t criticize your composure, either, or your posture.
“… Sometimes, I wonder about that too.” he mused softly. “When I first saw that photo, I should’ve burned it to ashes and stomped on it with my heels. But, instead, I let my hands shake and ultimately hang it on the mirror, if not as a source of… motivation.”
Somehow, you had a feeling it wasn’t a good kind of motivation. Your stomach churned at the thought.
“I did a background check on him, and was thoroughly disappointed in your choice of men.”
You flinched instinctively and opened your mouth to defend Epel, but his withering glare silence you quickly.
“I mean, an apple merchant from a small village?” he scoffed. “It was all just too easy, honestly, to set him up. I just needed to have someone buy one of his products, used my unique magic on it, and ordered them to give it to someone so they could have a ‘taste’.”
Your stomach plummeted, and you wished you could run back to the bathroom and puke all of that fancy food earlier.
“I almost pity him, really. He went from poor to destitute, but I suppose it’s still a lot better than death.”
“Why…?” you asked breathlessly, eyes stinging at the upcoming tears. “Why did you do that to him?! What did he do to you until he deserved that kind of fate?! Answer me, Schoenheit!”
His eyes darkened at the name usage just as the thunder boomed outside.
“Because a queen deserves a king by her side.”
You gaped at him. A king? Who was the king? Was it you? If so, didn’t a king deserve a good, sane queen by his side too?
Why did you feel more like a girl under the queen’s unfair wrath instead?
“… It’s getting late.” you mumbled. “I have practice tomorrow. Excuse me.”
Vil grabbed your arm, and you wondered if he could crush an apple with his grip.
“Where do you think you’re going? Can’t you see that it’s pouring out there?” he scolded as if he hadn’t just dropped a bomb on you. “You’re going to get sick, especially in that kind of condition.”
“It’s fine. I always have a painkiller ready…”
Suddenly, everything started to blur and move upside down. You clasped a hand over your mouth and collapsed to your feet, resisting the urge to vomit all over the marble floor.
“See? I told you.” Vil’s voice sounded distant despite him crouching beside you. “You’re sick, because you’ve been avoiding your much-needed rest. Don’t worry, I’ve told your manager that you’ll be staying with me for a few days.”
You were too weak to fight him, let alone escape from him. So, you allowed him to carry your body inside and lay it on the bed. He pulled the blanket to your chin and stood there for a moment.
“I won’t let you neglect your health anymore, especially over that pauper.” he hissed. “Under my care, you shall return to your best version. And I’ll be there as your number one fan and man.”
Deep down, you knew that your predicament wasn’t just because of your fatigue. He did something to you, to the tea, and you’d been too naïve to believe that the queen couldn’t be evil as well.
And his crooked smirk proved your suspicion.

Epilogue: Underwater (SC Titanic, Zetta x Adele Series)
As promised, here the epilogue of the Zetta x Adele Series, folks.
This is the very end of a project that meant me quite a lot to me and got me through the last terrible year. Thanks to all those who supported it: hope you enjoyed it and will enjoy this ending.
In case you were wondering, this song inspired the whole series, particularly the last chapters:

_________________________
Almost a century after the sinking of the RMS Titanic and to celebrate Canada becoming the first country outside Europe to legalise same-sex marriage, the Canadian Film Institute decided to work side by side with several LGBTQ+ organisations across the world to put together an exhibition focused on the early queer cinema and the many queer stars who were forced to hide their true selves in the Golden Age of cinematography, spanning from 1890s till the aftermath of Second World War. "A testament to the role the LGBTQ+ community played in the history of cinema and that we have always been here, even if people hardly saw us" as a journalist wrote on a queer magazine. After the recent discovery of some private documents, the curators were overjoyed to include an icon of the 1900s - 1910s cinema like Zetta Serda into the retrospective and cast a new light on her extraordinary career sadly soon forgotten after the advent of the sound era. Yet, the silent picture star was mentioned as a model and 'endless source of inspiration" by many queer movie stars like Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, Greta Garbo all part of the retrospective. Rumor has it that as soon as she landed in America, Marlene Dietrich demanded his agent a meeting with Mrs King.
A curator drove all the way to Montreal to meet the last known heir, a certain Mrs. Julia Nowak, who greeted him on the threshold of a cosy downtown apartment. She offered him a coffee and a slice of a Polish sweet bread: the recipe was a family heirloom, she explained, beaming. She was in her late fifties, a therapist, she said. Her hazel eyes gleamed when she added, in a pleasantly soothing voice that betrayed a hint of excitement: "I must confess I am so incredibly happy that you contacted me about the retrospective. I adore the idea and I will make sure to attend it. Also" she nodded to a wedding picture hung to the wall "did you know that my wife is in politics? She campaigned for the legalisation...yes, Madeleine Fournier: see, you know her! We got married right after the law passed. If anything, your call and project made me twice as happy". She took a pause, smiling over her coffee in remembrance. "Anyway, back to the matter of your visit...yes, as far as I know, I am Zetta's last heir. As you probably know, my family wasn't officially related to her but she stated otherwise in her will". She moved to the couch and gestured the curator to follow her as she opened up one of the boxes and chests piled into the living room and picked out an old album, the leather cover worn at the edges. Dust waltzed in the air as she opened it with caution and gentle care. She showed him a slightly discoloured black and white picture of a young couple kissing for the camera in front of a church. Another wedding picture, from a different era. "Nana Hileni and Papa Maciej's wedding picture. I still remember them even if they both died when I was barely a teen...as if one couldn't bear to live without the other. Or so I like to think. She would help me with the homework, mathematics particularly, and he baked this bread for me till he was too weak to do so. He always claimed that he won Nana's heart with his pastries but she always denied it laughing". She passed another picture of the same couple proudly standing in front of the Nowak family bakery in Hoboken. "Frankly, I believe that Papa's broad shoulders and Marlon Brando smile are more likely to blame for this coup de foudre" she laughed. "And he knew how to deal with her no-nonsense attitude and vice versa. They...balanced each other, if you wish". She picked another picture and handed it to him. A woman was looking down in tender adoration and awe to a baby nestled in her arms looking up at her, outstretching a tiny arm in an attempt to touch her face. "There! This is Dad" she pointed at the baby before turning the picture where someone wrote 'Alex meets Auntie Adele'. Turning it again, she pointed at the woman. "This is Adele Carrem. Or Auntie Adele as I've always heard calling her. Nana's sister and Zetta's publicist and companion" Putting it back into the album, she carefully picked a bunch of other old pictures. "You surely know who this one is" she smiled, handing out the one on top. The photo was rather grainy but you could still recognise the same kid, slightly older, around two, sucking his thumb, cuddled up in Zetta's lap. The actress had aged a little but her features were unmistakable and it was endearing to see her sitting by the fireplace to read that kid with the sleepy face a bedtime story. "Sadly, I have never met them. I wish I did, oh you have no idea...but stories of them lived through in our family" Julia continued. "My Dad loved his Aunties - as he called them - dearly and by what I've heard and read, they loved him in manner as if he was their own. He knew little of them or Zetta's career back then...to him they were just the sweet ladies who would buy him ice-cream in Central Park or take him to see his favourite pictures over and over again at the movie theater. He said he will never forget the afternoons he used to spend with them in a Manhattan cafe that no longer exists around Christmas: Nana and Papa worked like crazy as the festive season approached and the glorious cup of hot chocolate with an elegant puff of cream on top with the Aunties became a tradition to him. He kept it alive somehow as he did the same with me". She handed the curator a bunch of other pictures: Zetta cleaning up Alex's face smeared with jam, the both of them laughing; Zetta posing with Maciej and her Dad at a table in the Hoboken bakery. He eventually mirrored her smile seeing a five years old Alex at the beach all engrossed in building a sandcastle with Hileni and Adele, and he standing at the water edge hand in hand with Miss Carrem, looking out into the distance. "These are family pictures. I'll show you the Zetta's private memorabilia we cherished". Julia searched a little, opening an old chest and handling every item inside with tender care. When she found what she was looking for, she showed the curator an elegant set of smaller boxes containing letters, dried flowers and photos. "I have already received an offer to get these published. I'm still pondering it. Before agreeing, I want to consider throughly if this is a thing they would have wanted, even if they're no longer here" The curator nodded as she kept searching. He skimmed a few letters and smiled as his eyes fall on the photos hidden away in those boxes: the two women sitting together and chatting at Hileni's wedding, Zetta's reading a script, lazily sprawled on a chaise long in her apartment. Some had short lines handwritten on the back, like a promotional picture with "Missing you" written by Zetta herself. The curator showed another to Mrs Nowak: a visibly excited Miss Carrem proudly showing to the camera a document announcing her voter registration. On the back, in Zetta's penmanship: "On the way to vote...my sweet Adele won!". "Oh you didn't know? Auntie Adele was a suffragette! I couldn't believe it when I first heard it! Nana told me that she was in and out jail when they lived in London because of protests. You know, like those suffragettes you read about in history books but less famous. Yet she fought for women's rights and kept fighting for them even in America. She was quite disappointed though by some major decisions of some feminist movements and eventually joined a socialist Union 'more rightfully welcoming working class individuals, immigrants and black brothers and sisters'. It's all in those letters but yeah, you couldn't possibly know. So little is known about her outside family". A little smile drew on her face as she put back the photo. "That photo was taken the day of the first election open to women. I checked the date. I suppose Zetta wanted to immortalise the moment...it was sweet of her, huh? Auntie Adele must have been so proud and overjoyed that day! You know, my Dad was born in 1920 when women's right to vote was legalised nationally and Nana once told me that Auntie commented the lucky coincidence saying she was incredibly happy her nephew would get to live in a fairer world. She was a true force of nature...she never talked much of the sinking of the Titanic just like Zetta and Nana actually but when one day Dad asked...he was barely a child and probably found an old article about the tragedy...Auntie Adele minimised but Nana assured him that her sister saved her life that night, risking her own to go down to the belly of the sinking ship to bring her to safety. Auntie simply shrugged, saying that it was what sisters do and that they made it to the lifeboats only thanks to Zetta, who shouted protests to stubborn officers and eventually found them a spot on a boat. I cannot even bring myself to imagine how scary that must have been: I cried so much when Madeleine took me to see Leo and Kate...to think they were there and it was all real!" She picked a few other objects out the box: a Shakespeare Sonnets book in a leather cover with golden engravings, with a little handwritten dedication 'To Adele, my sonnet 116. Happy birthday! With all my love, Zetta'; old scripts with annotations, a framed photograph of Adele and Zetta slow dancing barefoot in the living room of a gorgeous Long Island mansion. "These have a sentimental value" Mrs Nowak noted, her voice betraying the flicker of emotions as she picked it up. She took a deep sigh and continued. "I remember the day I told Dad I was gay as it was yesterday. We had always been quite close so it came natural to tell him first. We were in his car, he had come straight from college to pick me up at ice-skating practice. I..I dropped it in the middle of a conversation, bracing myself for the worst. I heard so many bad stories about coming out to your parents I was terrified of the consequences but I couldn't hide it anymore. I mean, yes, in public: bullies get even nastier if they know and I didn't want people shouting me "dyke" at school. But I needed to get it out of my chest...with someone at least. He kept quiet for a moment and I felt like drowning in shame. But then he spoke". A nostalgic tender smile formed Julia's lips. "He said he had two amazing Aunties that contributed to make his life a wondrous adventure. It was thanks to them that he, the son of a baker, could attend a prestigious college, for instance: they offered to pay for it without asking a penny back. They also helped him write his first romantic letter to his childhood sweetheart and consoled him when the little girl turned him down. But his Aunties had a secret, he added. He said: to my kid eyes they were no less a couple than Mom and Dad and at home we all treated them in manner but one day Mom made me promise to behave differently when we were in public. In public I would refer to her sister as 'Auntie Adele' but call Zetta by her name. He didn't get it and it took some getting used to. He soon noticed that even the Aunties behaved a bit differently out in the sun: they wouldn't hold hands or use endearing words in the street or when other people were around. They simply behaved like good friends did. He understood it later when he, as stubborn as a mule, asked them directly". Julia gently grazed her fingers on the glass of the framed photograph, caressing it. "And they told me everything, he said. That they were in love, just like mom and dad were, but people out there could be uncomfortable and extremely rude to women loving other women and men loving other men. That they kept their companionship a secret in public because those people had no problems with women being friends and they didn't want to have bad words or worse happening to them. I remember asking him what he thought about it. He smiled. 'I cried. Since Auntie Zetta mentioned people claiming that women like them were sick and would burn in hell, I actually started crying. I sobbed desperately in her arms, crying that I didn't want them to burn in hell, I loved my Aunties and I was happy they loved each other. Eventually they explained me it was just a vile lie spread my malignant people. But I got quite a scare and kept staring at them with puffy red eyes and my face wet with tears for a while. It required lots of cuddling to bring a smile back on my face'. He shook his head, laughing of his endearing naivety. Then he pulled over and looked at me. He continued: 'I still don't get why people keep spreading those mean lies but I know for sure that my Aunties weren't sick and didn't end up in hell and so won't you. Don't believe bullshits like that for a split second, okay? And I also want you to remember that it doesn't change a thing for me and mom too. You will always be my little girl, our little girl and we love you'. We shared a long hug before driving back home. On the way back he insisted to buy my favourite chicken and waffles for dinner, saying mom's veggie soup could wait. For my birthday, a month later or so, he asked me to follow him to the attic and showed me this chest. To meet the Aunties that 'would have surely been there for me'". She tipped away a tear. "I told you I married Madeleine right after the legalisation of same-sex marriages. My wedding was also the last public event Mom and Dad attended together before his health worsened irremediably. He passed away last year". For a moment she looked on the verge of tears but she recovered quickly. "Sorry...anyway, that day Dad insisted on walking me down the aisle even if he was getting weak. He beamed with pride when a friend fixed a rainbow ribbon to his jacket. Later at the lunch he read a speech he had written for the day, his hand shaking. He shared the story of his Aunties. He said that despite the hardships their situation forced upon them, they had quite a happy life together, a happiness carefully hidden from the world. He wished us to find something similar to what they shared without needing to hide anymore. He said Adele and Zetta would have been so happy and proud to celebrate with all of us that day" Mrs. Nowak picked the Shakespeare Sonnet book and gave him a fond look. "He brought this to the wedding. And he read for us the sonnet 116, the one Zetta mentioned in her dedication. You know, the one that starts with 'Let me not to the marriage of true minds admit impediments..." ----------------------- A few months later the exhibition on old Hollywood queer cinema and artists opened. Each artist had a room that soon filled with a crowd of enthusiastic visitors. In the first half, in a room arranged as a turn of the century nickelodeon with velvet chairs, all the memorabilia of Zetta Serda's public life: panels explaining the various stages of her career and the birth of her myth, promotional pictures of her performances, articles about her and a copy of a gazette announcing her wedding with the director Richard King. On the wall, on a screen her entire filmography rolled up in loop, bewitching spectators after a century. In display cases: the gorgeous sapphire necklace she wore on her last night on the Ship of Dreams and at the movie party of Surviving the Titanic, and a replica of her Cleopatra costume. The aging Queen of Egypt with a tragic love and destiny immortalised by Shakespeare was her last role back on the theater stage before retiring from the scenes. Old scripts with her personal annotation were displayed with photographs taken on sets and mundane events. The wall hosting the motion-picture screen cut the room in half. On the other side, the hidden half of her life. Her life with Adele no one suspected back then. A life kept secret that now unveiled in front of the eyes of the visitors. The curators discovered that finding public pictures of Miss Carrem was nearly impossible, true to the nickname she acquired as time went by: The Shadow. She stayed at Zetta's side until and even after she stopped acting, showing rare loyalty and devotion, but ever surrounded by this mystery allure. No one, even the most stubborn reporters managed to know anything about her and she was soon dismissed as a Titanic survivor, possibly a fan, who worked as Zetta's secretary and somehow gained her respect. Little they knew about the depth of their relationship and what stacks of secret letters and family memories revealed of the life of Miss Carrem. A panel finally told her story and her secret achievements: Adele, or better Adal, kept fighting for a fairer world and society her whole life and marched for women's right to vote on the famous parade in 1915. She also passed the teaching of Edith Garrud to her American sisters. The only pictures of her came from the Nowak family, except for one. The only photograph of a public appearance of Miss Carrem as well as the only known public appearance of Zetta and Adele. An old grainy photo accurately framed showed Adele shaking hands with The Unsinkable Molly Brown on a podium. In her free hand a shiny medal and a few steps behind the mayor of New York. According to the panel, the survivors' committee founded by Mrs. Brown decided to award Miss Carrem a medal for bravery and a generous check "to help her and her sister starting a new life in America". With great surprise, Miss Carrem received the medal and the check, thanked the board but refused the honors. Instead, she asked to deliver them both to the family of a certain Charlie Stoke, a stewart that lost his life in the sinking to save her life and those of many passengers. She added that her friend expressed the desire to study naval engineering one day and she wished that the money kindly offered to her would be enough to establish a scholarship for boys like him across the ocean. In another picture, Miss Carrem and her sister chatted with Moll Brown in company of Zetta. Eventually, other philanthropists and wealthy socialites signed checks for her cause so that the Stoke family received a generous contribution too. And today, as another picture confirmed, the faculty of naval engineering of the University of Newcastle hosts a marble engraving of Charlie Stoke: to his memory a scholarship had been instituted one year after on the anniversary of the sinking. Since 1913 it has been helping students of poor background to get an education and improve their life. Zetta herself became a philanthropist during her Renaissance and ever since. The first act of her new phase of her life was joining the Moll Brown survivors committee to provide help to the second and third class passengers families and survivors. Some said that the tragedy she witnessed touched her heart, other claimed that it was to be attributed to the influence of her publicist. Jokingly, she used to say that after all, she had too much money yet all she could have wished for in her life, so why not doing some good with it? A considerable donation under her and Mr King was received by the main hospital during the Spanish flu pandemic; she was particularly active in providing financial help to struggling neighbourhoods and female education institutions. In the middle of the room, a long glass display hosted the Shakespeare Sonnets opened at sonnet 116 and a selection of the private correspondence between Zetta and Adele. My darling, You will receive this letter tomorrow morning when I'll be already off to Chicago. The suitcases are ready and packed, this is a goodnight note scribbled the night before leaving you to remind you how much I love you and care about you. How much I'm going to miss you even if - thank God! - we won't be parted for long... Do not forget you promised me to write every day! Write to me, Adele, write to me whatever thought crosses that gorgeous mind of you: you know I could you rambling for hours without getting tired of the sound of your voice, of your sparkling wisdom. I wanna know everything. So don't be shy: I'll be waiting your letters with tender impatience. Can't wait to be in your arms once more. Adoringly yours, Zetta - Dear, dearest Zetta, I went to Central Park today with Hileni. It was a gorgeous spring day, sunny, a gentle breeze blowing: 'simply too beautiful to be wasted inside' as my sister put it. Did I tell you that she's still exchanging letters with the delivery boy from the hat shop? I thought they were over but apparently he invited her to the nickelodeon next week. Anyway, walking in the park with her I suddenly realised how I wanted to share that spring wonder with you. When are you coming back to New York? Tell me soon, please. And even 'soon' won't be soon enough: you're always on my mind since you left. But yes, tell me soon so I can make you promise we will go for a walk before the weather becomes too hot. Do you think I can wrap my arm with yours? Is it professional enough for a publicist? Even just for a few steps: oh you have no idea how I would love that! Or maybe you have? I hope so: it'd mean you miss me as much as I miss you when we are apart. Oh, I almost forgot: all settled with that magazine you mentioned before your departure! I negotiated a two pages long interview, plus pictures. And a cover mention. Hope I did well: you have already fired me as your secretary, I must prove you I am just what you're looking for in a publicist... Can't wait to see you again! Loving you always, Adele Only one letter was copied on a panel of its own on the main wall side by side with a blow-up of the picture of Adele and Zetta slow-dancing barefoot and free, for a blessed moment immortalised in a discreet shot. Adele pressing a tender kiss on Zetta's forehead, drawing a soft smile on the acrtress' lips. Many visitors commented it was heartwarming to see such a photograph that conveyed the intimacy and the warmth of affection radiating from the dancing couple. Some said that Zetta was even more beautiful like that: free, hair slightly askew and genuinely happy, loved. What stole their hearts away though was the letter attached to it. It was no surprise that the curators decided to name the retrospective Underwater. Dearest Adele, Forgive me for the tone of this letter. I am writing it down in bed while I cannot sleep and my mind runs back to you as if we could meet halfway between the miles separating us, in a world of fantasy of our own. It's ridiculous how much I miss you! I want you near, I need you near all the time. Take tonight: if you were here with me, I would be heavenly sleeping in your loving embrace. Most unfortunately, you are not and I'm lying here, insomniac, thinking of you. And about my life. No, don't frown. I am not getting all sad again. It's...bittersweet. And - I'll spoil you the ending so you will stop worrying, hopefully - it gets better the more you proceed. Have you ever felt trapped underwater? I did, my whole life. Always hiding, always measuring words, gestures, gazes not to let them see, not to let them know...so little time to go up and break the surface. Drop the mask and breathe. In, out. Once, twice. In my lowest moments I repeated to my myself: how are you gonna survive? One day an acquaintance with a remarkable passion for the sea explained me and the other bored commensals that you can keep someone alive by breathing oxygen into their mouth underwater. Pretty much like mouth-to-mouth resuscitation helps an unconscious person to regain consciousness. I found it interesting but doubted his words. Then I met you, Adele. My dearest, wondrous Adele. And I learnt that yes, you can't breathe if you're constantly underwater...but you won't drown if you have the right person swimming by your side in those deep waters. Put your lips on me, Adele. Touch me, hold me in your arms. And I can live underwater. With your love, I can live underwater. We can live underwater. I love you. I want to cover a full page of these three simple words: I love you. I want to cry them out and entrust them to the winds, to the night. But what for? Who cares if the world knows or not? I'll whisper them over your lips when we will be reunited. So you can breathe underwater. Counting down the hours separating us, my love. Eternally yours, Zetta

We all clinked our glasses together, pre-drinks before we leave for the club “I just want to say! Let me say something bitches!” Sonita shouted “I want to say my sister” she looked at me “I know next year is about to be another good year for you! You are working so hard, and you’re going to be working even harder, you are a free, single woman. I am happy for you, and I am excited for your next album sis. To Robyn Rihanna Fenty” I cooed out raising my glass in the air “you all too kind, I have the best friends a girl can ask for. Next year will be about me, I am not going to put myself in that situation again, I am lucky that Rakim was a man to do it and to accept where we was going, I am not going to let my record label do that again but to us single bitches” we cheered and clinked glasses again, drinking the wine as I shimmied away. I bought my bitches to London, we going to bring in the New Year in the club, but pre-drinks are a must. I don’t care if I can buy drinks there, cheaper to start here then there anyways “Leandra! Put the damn music on, dang. Let’s get this party started and then we can go” she is the worst DJ to hand, feeling an arm around my shoulder “I love you” Mel sounds drunk already “oh no, you can’t be already!?” I spat, looking to the side of me “bitch my drinking started early, I started when I rolled out of bed and you made those waffles” this is not good “so I guess I am the person to be looking after you huh? You know I don’t like drunk people, I think you need to stay at home” she shook her head “no, I need to go and party with some beautiful British men, they better be showing out because I need to get some British dick” I snorted laughing “wow, well I think I will be the one to take it easy, thank the lord for Rich” he is the carer of the group now “happy new year to me” he laughed “and you boo” I winked at him.
I decided to go all out, I mean not so much but I wanted to look good for today, so I am wearing a tiny blush pink fur mini dress with a wrap around fur belt around my waist. I have glittery heels with sheer socks and fluffy white trim. I have my glam curls ready, my hair is laid, lips popping, I look good “I heard from Melissa you have a secret dick appointment?” Leandra blurted out “oh not that skinny guy? The one at the concert?” Jen remembers “I never said a thing! I don’t tell your secrets” Mel is drunk, of course she is talking “not a dick appointment, she is a liar. I hate when she is drunk, stay away from me. Uhm, we just met up. That is it” I pointed at Jen; she is smirking “but you left the concert with him?” She needs to stop putting two and two together “we are here, now be quiet” Rich slid the door open “it’s so cold in London!” Jen spat as she got out first, it is actually freezing here. Shuffling off of the seat and stepping out of the car, pulling my mini dress down and there is a few paparazzi here, of course I mean why wouldn’t there be “Rihanna!” they shouted constantly, I started to walk off to the club as they continued to shout, Rich walking alongside me. I did think they would have got in my way, but they didn’t, I am thankful to be inside.
I shrieked out “hey boo!” hugging Adele “how are you? I thought I would sneak over and see you, are you ok? I heard about the breakup, I loved you both together but it’s mutual” nodding my head “it is, we happy but you look so good!” I shouted, her dress is bomb “not as beautiful as you, happy new year. Speak to you soon” she waved at me as she walked off, there is a lot of celebrities here, I am shocked. I didn’t think there would have been so many celebrities but there is. I don’t think there is any none famous people here, feeling a tug at my arm. Looking to the side of me, seeing where Sonita is pointing. Future raised his glass to me, waving at him. He then pointed at himself and then me, I nodded my head either way because I have a song I need him on, he will add the added spice I need on it. I assumed he would come but no, his whole entourage came, it’s like the whole club just moved, lord have mercy I didn’t ask for that. Placing my wine glass down, Future eventually was in my section “Riri, hey!” hugging him “hey you, been ignoring me!?” I said, moving back from the hug “oh what? No, I have been busy” I snorted “busy making babies with the sixth woman” he laughed out, he knows I am right “this is my cousin, Deavon. He likes you so I was like we going, you coming” I am impressed “he better looking then you, hi” I am so formal I shook his hand, he is handsome “so this is why I ignore your calls but what is up? What can I help you with” I didn’t want to talk work on this day, but I will “my album, your voice?” Future smirked “now, I am busy” poking my lips out trying to not smile “you saying no to me?” he licked his lips smiling “ok, I got you? Happy, I got you now” he hugged me again “that is all it took nigga! Come on!” he is stupid.
I am excited for the new year to come in, smiling at the big screen as the countdown went to ten “eight, seven, six, five” I shouted along with Mel and Sonita hugging me “three, two one! Happy New Year!” we all shouted, hugging both of my friends as the cheers rang through. I am happy, like I couldn’t be happier with my situation then I am right now, I think I needed that freedom. I was feeling depressed and now I am me again “woo!” I clapped, Future never left the section I am in for whatever reason but it doesn’t bother me, he is ok as a friend and from afar “happy new year riri” hugging him “and you boo” his cousin really likes me, he is stood just smiling “happy new year” I said to him “can I have a picture?” he asked in the middle of this “sure” waving him over, I might as well. It looks like Future is looking to go, getting closer to him. He leaned down a little, so I rested my arm on his shoulder as he took the selfie, moving my hair to the side “take another” turning to him and kissing his cheek “oh my god! Thank you” smiling at him as I moved away “aye, where the drinks at. Besides Mel! Everyone better be drinking” I pointed, Mel has had enough “I am banning your ass” Mel hugged me as she laughed out.
I did think Future was going but he didn’t we are having shots together now, I ain’t drunk so there is that. I know what I am doing anyways “Leandra!” I spat; she is always taking a video. Putting a finger up at her “actually, take a picture of us” digging into my bag, grabbing my phone from my bag and holding it out to Leandra “when are you going back to California so we can link for the album?” Future asked “I am going Miami actually but I think around two weeks, I am staying here for a while and then travelling, I have some ventures here” pointing at my phone so Leandra can take a picture, Future leaned into me “you better get my best side!” I shouted; she is a bitch at times. She took the picture of us and held the phone out to me “thank you” ok I look good I will take that “I apologise for not responding to you though” least he is sorry “it’s ok” I smiled at him, uploading the image onto Instagram, captioning the picture ‘New year, New music’ pressing send on the image “what you doing after this?” can Future not ask “bed?” side eyeing him “no, I ain’t saying it like that. Because Diddy is throwing a party here too, so I was asking if you going to do that” I assumed something else there “oh no, I am having to take care of that drunk girl there” Mel is a mess, she really is.

It’s like I can’t escape her, I really can’t. How do I end up in magic city and I hear come and put your name on it, I swear I just had to mean mug the stripper, I just cannot escape her. I went to the club before this and they had we found love, it’s like a constant reminder and it made me want to drink more, I can’t escape her at all. I am staring at this stripper and it’s like I am imagining her, like I can see Robyn just there in front of me. It is literally driving me crazy; I am at work I hear her and I be walking and I hear her. I go to my apartment I hear her and now this, drinking from the Patron bottle “enough for you” Seiko moved the bottle back “for me? Or?” she is annoying, getting up from the seat, this stripper is one hundred percent no Rihanna, besides this strippers boobs are big, she winked at and I just turned around “come on” hitting Barry’ shoulder, I need some air right now because I just can’t even deal right now. Seiko wasn’t supposed to be here, she wasn’t supposed to come but she did. She doesn’t mind coming with me to a strip club either, she’s a good girl and I like that but she’s not that.
Standing to the side and lighting my cigarette “we out here in the cold, the fuck?” Barry said, “I am sick of hearing her voice” blowing the smoke out from my lips “you still on that, you said nothing happened?” smiling at Barry “we had sex all weekend, I just didn’t want to say it to TJ. He has a big mouth” Barry’ mouth fell open “no way!? No way? You’re lying” shaking my head with my cigarette between my lips “no way? You had sex with” he looked around him “you had sex with Rihanna?” he said in a loud whisper “I did, all weekend. Pussy is good bro, like really good” Barry hit my arm jumping up and down “it good? Like you taste it, she let you do it all? For real, you go in raw? So you fucked ASAP Rocky girl, nigga you are the boss, oh my god. I am losing my fucking mind, you had sex with her. So it’s good pussy?” nodding my head laughing “good, and she gave me head too, shit. She was up for it all, like bro. I could just give her a look and we just be fucking, like tongue down my throat shit. But she is good, like I can’t compare. Now having sex with Seiko, ain’t it. I need to drop her, I can’t stop thinking of Robyn bro, I can’t shake it off” I really can’t “pussy on your mind that much? Just go and get it again? I mean what does she care” I sniggered “listen here right, she went crazy on my ass. She won’t speak to me because I have Seiko around yeah, so she wants to be with me. She said she thought it was a crush, but she loves me, she kept saying it. I held back, then she went crazy talking about you don’t care. I am here, I am trying to take it in. I can’t take it in when you are riding my dick, you know?” Barry snorted laughing “so yeah, that weekend was interesting. It was good, if I get locked up right now I will go back a happy man. On god” Barry is shocked “love? So you want to leave Seiko for her, you can just lie and still get it?” shaking my head “I ain’t happy with Seiko, she on my dick about shit. Like why is she here, I tried to split with her and she took it for a joke, maybe I am a joke but I” I paused “I miss her” Barry furrowed his eyebrows “you miss that Barbados pussy, that is what you want” shaking my head “nah, see. I feel something for her, I really do. We are good together but it’s like she’s hard to reach? It’s hard to explain, it’s not all about the sex, I am just shocked that we did have sex, you know” I haven’t actually spoke on this to anyone until now.
“You cheated on me again!?” my eyes bulged out looking to the side of me, Seiko is right there just barking “who cheated?” Barry said “him!” she ran at me and started to hit at my chest “relax! I ain’t cheat” moving back, throwing my cigarette to the ground “you know what, I did” it’s out now, we can split “Barbados? Mhm, oh. This nigga had sex with Rihanna!” She screamed out, I felt anger hit me “shut the fuck up, you stupid fucking bitch” Barry got between us because I was ready strangle the bitch “can we all calm down, nobody had any sex with Rihanna. Damn, we wish we all could. He is joking” Barry is calming it down, but I am angry “it’s over Seiko, we are over. You’re dumped, also your ass is stuck here because I am your ride back” walking around Barry “I will scream so loud about you and that fucking bitch, you have changed since you met her again. Love struck speaking on Rihanna, this nigga fucked Rihanna” I lunged at her, gripping her neck and the next sound I hear is sirens, right at that moment and she screamed for help. I moved away from here “you dead, you fucking whore. You a dead bitch” walking off “let’s just move now, come on. Seiko just drop it. He is drunk” I ain’t even drunk and that is the point, she mentions Robyn’ name I am going to kill her “is everything ok here?” the police officer asked, I was waiting for Seiko to say something but she didn’t “usual party vibes” she said “my stupid boyfriend” now why she saying that, I broke up with her “let’s go” Barry patted my back for us to go.

Growing Pains: Send My Love (To Your New Lover)
Tumblr media
A collection inspired by Adele’s album 25
A/N: Sooo, it’s been a while lmao.
Please note that this is part of a series, although this chapter has enough in it that you can infer what is going on so it can be read by itself.
Previous Chapters:
 When We Were Young (Smut)
I Miss You (semi-smut)
 River Lea(Smut)
Warnings: Smut (like a lot yo. Probably the filthiest thing i’ve written ok.) , cursing, choking, hairpulling, Yoongi is not happy about your confession  but has emotional constipation so chooses to take it out in ~other~ ways
Sunlight casts it’s warm glow over you, body growing hot under the mountain of blankets you'd haphazardly thrown over yourself late last night. You don’t move though, letting the rays of light burn against your eyelids as you bask in the afterglow of sleep. That is, until you felt the slickness of sweat in the crevices of your form. Sighing lightly, you shift on the couch and feel the heaviness begin to fade from your limbs as stiffness takes its place. The apartment is quiet, the city too. That magical sunday haze always makes it seem like the world is running at half-pace, if only for a few hours in the morning. Slowly, you crack your eyes open just enough to catch a glimpse of the clock hanging on the wall above your tv. 11:14… you note silently. Woojin must have left for work without waking me.
And just like that, your calm morning is gone, spirited away by a fresh wave of emotions that you can no longer chalk up as only guilt. A second sigh escapes you, though this one was much heavier than the first. Pushing the blankets away from your body, you sit upright on the couch. Rubbing the remnants of sleep from your eyes, you straighten the crumpled outfit which you’d never bothered to change out of last night. Spotting your phone on the coffee table, you pick it up with a yawn and tap the screen to life. A couple emails, some notifications from various social media platforms and one text that makes a soft smile curl your lips upward without your knowledge.
 Yoongi                          4:38am
Did you get back okay? You could've stayed you know.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It's me." the words had sounded timid as they'd left your mouth, even by your own ears.
“I know.” He didn't sound surprised, which irked you. You knew what he said on the roof, but a part of you still worried that this was a game to him. A game in which he knew he was currently holding the winning hand. “Caller I.D."
“Right.” A faint heat bloomed on your cheeks as the elevator doors gave a soft ‘ding’ and opened to the apartment buildings lobby. Plopping yourself down on one of the plush leather chairs, you fiddled anxiously with the sleeve of your oversized jacket. A dim crackle of radio silence echoed across the speaker, not quite sure what to say now that you’d actually dialed his number. You tried though, a feeble “I-” making it’s way up from your vocal cords before the line went quiet again.
Thankfully, Yoongi was the first to break the tension. “Do you want to come by? I would’ve offered at Luna’s but…”
“No, I’m glad you didn’t. I’d rather not broadcast what we’re up to to them.” You answered honestly. It wasn’t that you didn’t love and trust your friends. It was just that it was much harder to explain what you were doing when you yourself didn’t even really know. “But yeah, I would… if that’s okay.”
“I wouldn’t offer if I didn’t want you to, Y/N.” Yoongi reassured you, making your insides twirl. “I can come and get you. You still at Luna’s building?”
“I am, but that’s alright. You’re already at home.”
“It’s not far.” He insisted. “I don’t mind. Besides, this way you don’t have to wait for a cab.”
You bit your lip, and responded. “As long as you’re sure.”
“I am.” A rustle could be heard on the other end, which you could safely assume came from his pushing his arms into his jacket. “I’ll be there in ten. Wait for me in the lobby, okay? It’s cold out.”
This made you giggle. Thoughtful and protective as ever. “Yoongi, it’s July.”
“I know but,” he replied with a sigh and you wondered if he was making that cute exasperated face that he used to make whenever you teased him, “just humor me, okay?”
“Okay.” You said, the remnants of laughter still present in your voice. “See you soon?”
He hummed in agreement before adding, “I’ll text you once i’m there.”
“Alright, bye.”
“Bye.”
The line went dead and immediately you began to fidget, nerves beginning to set in. In all honesty, you didn’t know what to expect when you went over there. There wasn’t time on the roof to discuss the details of what this arrangement would entail. Everything with Yoongi was grey, reminding you of how your relationship had started back in college. He never was big on discussing this type of stuff, you remarked silently. Yoongi was and always had been a man of action, not words. Words he saved for music. Once upon a time, you had found this incredibly frustrating. Now however, you were grateful that you could explore your rekindled relationship, whatever it may be, without the pressure of definition. Perhaps it was time that made the craving for clarity you had when you were younger wane. Or perhaps it was the fact that diving deep and defining what this was, meant you’d have to face the demons residing in your head. Whichever, you knew that there was one thing you’d have to lay out on the table for both of your sakes. As much as the thought of doing so made your heart clench and your gut churn with dread.
The screen of your phone lit up suddenly, a new text flashing up on the lock screen which read:
Here. Black car right in front of the doors.
Gathering yourself up from the couch, you took a soothing breath before stepping out of the building. Sure enough, a black car sat parked directly in front of the doors which gently clicked shut once you’d let go of the metal. Seeing the car, it was suddenly that much clearer to you that Yoongi really had worked hard in the time you’d been apart. As college kids, neither of you had driven, the cost of having a car in the city being too much for either of you to justify. Now however, it seemed Yoongi didn’t have a need to pinch pennies like he used to. The black car parked in front of you acting only as evidence of this fact. It was nothing obnoxious, but you could tell that the car had cost a fair amount more than your used Honda. Steeling yourself, you grasped the sleek handle on the door and climbed inside.
Settling as gracefully as possible into the luxurious leather seat, you sneaked a glance at Yoongi. A pang of guilt washed over you, realizing he had already changed into sweats and a simple white t-shirt before you’d called. You let a frown turn the corners of your lips downward. “Thank you for picking me up.”
A small chuckled emanating from his chest made you look up from his clothes. His face was encased in the blue glow of the lights from the dash of the car. His hair was slightly tousled, blonde tufts just long enough to sweep over his eyebrows. A teasing smirk played at the edges of his mouth while his dark eyes regarded you.
“What?” You fought the urge to squirm under his gaze.
“It’s been years and you still haven’t learned to just let people do things for you, huh?”
Rolling your eyes, you gently pushed at the hand that was draped over the gear shift. “I just don’t like being a bother.”
“You never are.” His blunt response made you blush, your gaze travelling down to your lap where your fingers toyed with one another.
There was no need to look up at him, you knew he had a pleased expression on his face. Playing with you had always been one of his favourite things to do, if only because of the color it brought to your cheeks. Shifting the car into drive, he pulled away from the curb.
Both of you fell silent as Yoongi drove, though it wasn’t uncomfortable. Lingering familiarity with one another eased the tension alongside your earlier banter. Turning your eyes toward the streets that passed you by, you wondered what his place was like. Did it measure up to the car? Your mind attempted to conjure up an image of what type of place you pictured Yoongi living in. However, everytime you tried to picture him living somewhere posh and luxurious, like the car, you couldn’t. The Yoongi you’d once known liked urban places. Area’s full of little nooks and crannies hiding the best of what the city could offer by the people who were its life blood. Hell, you couldn’t even count the number of times he’d led you through obscure alleyways and because ‘I swear, it’s the best in town’. And frankly, he’d always been right. Though that never stopped you from teasing him, calling him a hipster and laughing when he rolled his eyes. You didn’t even realize you were sporting a small smile while recalling all old memories until you felt it drop.
It really hadn’t been far, just as Yoongi had assured you. The car ride only lasted about 15 minutes before he was turning a corner to come before tall wrought-iron gates enclosing an area that was towered over by a few highrises. It was then that you realized that the car really did match the house as Yoongi unrolled his window and gave an amical wave to the man sitting in a small booth just on the other side of the iron bars. The man gave him a friendly grin before opening the gate for Yoongi’s car to pass through. Rolling his window back up, you sidled up to the passenger door, gawking at the height of the buildings before you. Yoongi’s fingers drummed against the head of the gear shifter as he pulled into a parking garage. As he drove to his space, you couldn’t help but notice that all the cars you passed were on the same caliber, or higher, as his own. Reaching his own parking spot, the car came to a stop and you unbuckled your seatbelt. Stepping out of the car, Yoongi locked the doors and motioned for you to follow him.
All the way up to the apartment, you had the distinct feeling that he was watching you and the feeling only heightened once you were inside. You did your best to school your features, not wanting to come off as rude, but you couldn’t help your eyes from widening as you took in his place. From the entryway, you could see into his kitchen and lounge. Both were impressive. The kitchen was decked out with white cabinets and marble countertops while the living room was big enough that you were positive it could house the entirety of your small shared apartment. But the real thing that caught your eye was the view.
Floor to ceiling windows made up the wall to the outside world and with the height you were at, you could see nearly the whole city. Lights twinkled in the distance as you let out a breathless,  “Wow.”
“You like it?” Yoongi asked, his eyes still hovering over your frame as you slipped your shoes off to move closer to the windows.
“It’s beautiful.” You replied honestly, your gaze raking over the city. Eyes drifting down, you could barely make out the man sitting in his booth at the gate. Dimly, you noticed no one milled about the street down below, this area’s inhabitants much more used to staying within their pretty walls. You really had been honest; this place was beautiful materialistically, but something about it just seemed a little cold to you. There was no hustle and bustle here. It almost felt detached from the city. It wasn’t that you didn’t understand the appeal of being removed from the loud streets and neon signs, it was just so far from what you had known Yoongi to love when he was younger. These thoughts raced in your mind and before you could think better of it, you slipped, “but-”
“But?” Yoongi had padded across the hardwood floors to you while you were in thought, handing you a glass of water that you hadn’t even heard him get.
Quickly, you arranged your features into a warm grin, muttering a ‘thanks’ and taking a sip from the glass before speaking again, “I just always pictured you living somewhere more… lively.”
Insecurity flashed across his face so briefly, you wondered if it really had been there at all as he rearranged his expression into the indifferent look you were well acquainted with. A hand came up to scratch the back of his head as he replied, “yeah, I guess it is a bit… much, isn’t it?”
“No, Yoongi.” You rushed to say, worried you’d hurt his feelings. “It’s just a surprise is all. I knew you worked hard since we graduated, I just didn’t realize how hard.”
This seemed to appease him, but you could tell that he knew you were trying to make him feel better from the slight downturn of his mouth. Nodding, he motioned to the white couch in the living room. Relief flooded your veins at the realization that he was as content to drop the subject as you were when he said, “sit with me?”
Nodding, you padded your way across the hardwood floors to the couch, settling down in the middle. Yoongi followed, plopping down onto your right, leaving you to immediately question your decision making skills as the scent of his cologne engulfed you in the close proximity. A pale arm came to rest on the back of the couch as he wedged himself into the corner, legs spreading comfortably. A knee knocked yours and you forced yourself not to gasp at the contact. Slim fingers drummed the cushion, close enough to you that you were sure your hair was grazing the tips each time he lifted them. A jolt of desire churned in your stomach, unable to quell the images of where else those fingers had touched not weeks prior.
“So, what about you?” Yoongi’s voice snapped you out of your thoughts.
“What about me?” You replied, trying to hide your blush as you took a sip of water, willing the liquid to kill the flames inside you before placing it on the coffee table in front of you. After all, you had no idea what to expect from tonight. You had no idea what Yoongi, or even you, expected from this causal relationship. Though your body certainly seemed to know what you wanted.
“What are you doing now?” He said. “I just realized that I never really asked. Did you apply at that newspaper after college?”
You hid the wince at the mention of that particular venture. “Um, I did, yeah.”
“And you got it? That’s great, Y/N-”
“Oh, no, I didn’t get the job.” You responded quickly, suddenly finding the spacious room more than a little stifling.
           “Oh, fuck, I’m sorry.”
“No, it’s okay!” You plastered a bright practiced grin on your face and looked up at him, the same grin you’d given all of your relatives when they asked the same thing. Not wanting to make it more awkward, you blurted, “I actually got a job at a gardening magazine. It’s proofreading but the hours are great and the pay is pretty decent too.”
“Well, that’s great— wait,” He paused, a look of confusion passed over his face and your stomach dropped. You should’ve known better than to say anything to him of all people. “Proofreading? I thought you hated doing that.”
A melancholy chuckle left your lips. “I did, but honestly it’s not so bad. I could do worse.”
He hummed, not in agreement but acknowledgement and the fact that you could hear the difference irked you. “Are you gonna stay there for a while?”
It felt as though a crack had split your smile and Yoongi was peering into it. Were you really still so easy for him to read? It wasn’t fair, not when you felt like you were constantly chasing a shadow. The remains of the smile slipped from your lips and you considered his question. You shifted as you contemplated, your knee now leaning against his fully while your body twisted so you could face him more. Fingers brushed against your shoulder as you spoke softly. “Honestly? I don’t know anymore.”
           “Why’s that?”
“I just—” you sighed, your brows furrowing together unable to help the way Yoongi seemed to pull the truth from you in any situation, “when I started there, I told myself it was only temporary. But as time went on, I guess I just started to get comfortable, y’know? And now, I don’t know, it’s hard to just up and leave something without guarantee that it’ll work out. So I stayed.”
He leaned forward slightly, almost making you jump when the pads of his fingers found the nape of your neck and kneaded the skin softly. It was casual; he only needed to move a few inches to reach your skin, his arm still resting nonchalantly over the back of the couch. If you were anyone else, you wouldn’t have really thought it was anything besides a comforting gesture. But you weren’t just anybody. The action made your mind sift through countless memories in which he’d done the same. Once he’d found out the action was something you found comforting years ago, it had become a sort of habit for him. You didn’t know if he had meant to do it or if it was only natural after having dated all through college, but the gesture instantly had you feeling more at ease. However, the touch still made your breath catch.
Hearing the stutter in your breathing, Yoongi hesitated. His fingers came to a stop and made to pull away as he muttered, “Sorry, I should’ve asked if it was okay before I—”
“Wait,” before you could think anything of it, your fingers curled around his forearm to halt him in his retreat, “it’s okay.”
It wasn’t actually, but with the way tension you hadn’t even known you’d been clutching on to had begun to seep from your limbs at his ministrations, you couldn’t muster the energy to deny yourself a reprieve.
A faint smile wormed its way onto his lips as your head tilted so that the skin of your cheek rested on his arm. In a voice so small you were sure he hadn’t meant for you to hear, you heard a barely there ‘cute’ just as his fingers resumed drawing shapes into your skin. Not wanting him to catch on that you’d heard, you drew your thanks into the skin of his arm, your own fingers mirroring the movements of his on your neck. With each shape drawn, Woojin grew more and more distant in your mind. Your resolve to confess grew weaker with every stroke while the butterflies in your stomach roared, finding the will to ruin this moment dismal.
“So,” you said, breaking the comfortable silence that had fallen over you two, “is this your move now?”
His head quirked and an eyebrow raised. “My move?”
“Yeah,” there was a teasing tone in your voice. “Instead of food stalls and diners you bring the girls up here to woo em’?”
A raspy chuckle shook his shoulders, a sly smirk stretching his lips. “Honestly, I haven’t had any of this long enough to try it. Why, is it working?”
“Meh,” you acted indifferent, shrugging your shoulders playfully and jiggling the arm that was half slung around you. “I prefer to be wined and dined.”
“I’d hardly call plastic stools, soju, and chicken ‘wined and dined.’”
“Hey,” you pouted, raising your head from his arm. “I’ll have you know I loved those stupid plastic chairs.”
“Don’t I know it.” He snorted. “You almost ripped my head off when you found out I went with Jin without you that one time.”
He wasn’t lying. You really almost did. “Well, yeah, but that’s because I always thought of it as our ‘place.’”
An amused look crossed his features. “Our ‘place?’”
“Yeah, y’know,” heat flared in your cheeks, absentmindedly squeezing his forearm out of embarrassment and mumbling, “like couples those in movies and shit have a ‘place.’ I thought of that as ours.”
“You thought of a street food stall as our ‘place’?” The mirth in his voice did not escape your ears.
“I mean, not just one. More like the street.” You replied sheepishly, earning you a genuine gummy laugh. The grips you had on each other loosened as his body rocked forward, his free hand landing on your thigh as his frame shook. Your heart did a somersault in your chest as the distance between you diminished. His laughter earned him a slap on the chest as your bottom lip jutted out. “Don’t laugh.”
“Sorry, it’s just, there?” His laughter died out, his hand on the back of the chair coming up to carry the weight of his head as he rested on it, your hair fluttering against his bicep. “Of all places?”
“Well, excuse me Mr. High-and-mighty. You have somewhere better you’re thinking of?”
“Your old apartment.” His answer was immediate.
“My apartment?” You questioned.
“Yeah,” he replied, a fondness glazing over his eyes as he looked down at you. “We had a lot of important moments in that place.”
Like watching a movie, memories flashed in your mind. Good, bad, and somewhere in between; all sorts of things happened in the confines of those walls. Some you wished you could forget. Some that you wouldn’t trade for anything in the world. It was only now that you realized just how close the two of you had gotten while you talked. His thumb rubbed at the skin just above your knee and he had drawn one leg of his own up onto the couch, folding it under himself so his shin pressed against the length of your thigh. The white shirt he wore billowed against your arm and upon looking at his face, you realized that if you leaned in just the littlest bit more, you would be able to stretch your neck up so your lips would meet. Looking at him, you finally saw behind his carefully constructed walls. The tender look on his face as his ink coloured irises gazed down at you told you that it wasn’t just you who treasured those memories. Eyes flicked from yours down to your mouth and you could feel his body coaxing you to just bridge the gap. Squirming under his gaze, your eyes dropped to your lap.
“I lived there,” you said with a shaky voice. “Doesn’t count as a place.”
An amused puff of air escaped him, fanning across your cheek down to your collarbone. Minty.
“So, is this how you get the guys now?” You couldn’t help but peer back up at him at the question. The hand that was on your leg rose to grip your chin, his thumb giving your bottom lip a featherlight stroke. A surge of heat rocketed through you at the contact. “By being a sore loser and pouting when they prove you wrong?”
This time, you chuckled, repeating his earlier words, “why, is it working?”
“Yes.” He admitted instantly, your legs pressing together in response. His hand holding you in his grip, dark eyes drifted down to where his thumb sat just below the ridge of your bottom lip. Your own eyes dropped too, watching raptly as his mouth came closer and closer to your own. The air felt heavy, your hands coming up to fist his shirt as your tongue snaked out to wet your lips, catching the salty tip of his thumb. Letting your eyes drift back up, you saw that his irises had become darker, his lids drooping slightly and exuding lust. He was going to kiss you and god, did you want him to. But as soon as you felt the slightest brush of his lips against yours, the face of your boyfriend popped into your mind. Jerking, you pushed him just far enough away that you could drop your head in shame.
“Yoongi, wait.” You fought the trembling in your voice. “There’s something I have to tell you.”
Ever-respectful, Yoongi immediately released you. His hand fell into his lap, your skin instantly mourning the loss as he leaned back away from you. Studying his face, you could feel your heartbeat quicken and your palms growing clammy. He watched as you tried to summon your courage, the only sign that he was worried being the way his brows scrunched to make the faintest ripple in the skin of his forehead. Taking a slow breath and trying not to pay attention to the way your face suddenly felt so much warmer, you spoke, “I should’ve told you this on the rooftop, but I-”
Your throat clenched around the syllables and your hands curled into fists where they had fallen on your lap when he had backed away from you.
“Hey,” Yoongi replied, reaching out to the hand on your lap before hesitating. Deciding you needed the comfort, he let his hand lower to stroke the skin. “It’s all right. You can tell me now. Or not. I never meant to push you into anything and if I have-”
“No! It’s not that. It’s nothing you did.” You immediately responded, your hand flipping to hold his tightly in reassurance. “I- um, I’m actually seeing someone.”
“Oh.” His hand was still in yours but you felt it go limp in your grasp. It was almost comical the way his eyes widened before his carefully constructed mask slipped into place. The silence was suffocating. If you tried, you could probably hear every car within a block of his place right now. Ink irises swept over your face and lowered your head, guilt surging through you. Sensing that you’d outstayed your welcome, you began to rise from the couch only for his fingers to contract and pull you down to the couch again. Landing rather ungracefully, you met his eyes once more. “Is that why you freaked out the next morning?”
You didn’t have to ask for context. “Yeah, it was him on the phone.”
“Hm…” He hummed, more to let you know that he’d heard you than anything. His eyes studied your face, as though searching for something. But what, you didn’t know. “Why didn’t you say something?”
“Um,” you replied, “I don’t know if you noticed, but I was a little bit busy freaking the fuck out.”
He gave you an exasperated look, his grip still tight on your hand. “I mean that night.”
You opened your mouth to answer, only to shut it again. Why hadn’t you? You’d been drinking, but not nearly enough to make you forget something so vital. Even when you were having sex, you knew it was wrong in the back of your mind, and yet you hadn’t let out a peep. Sifting through your memories, you couldn’t really find a definite answer. At least you had the decency to shoot him an apologetic glance.  “I should’ve, I know.”
“And after?”
“I didn’t think your number was the same?” It was a sorry excuse and you both knew it.
“You didn’t think to ask the six friends we share?”
“I-”
“He doesn’t know does he?” The question he cut you off with was more a statement than anything.
“No.” Something in Yoongi’s eyes seemed to click, causing shame to make your ears burn as you spoke.
“The way I see it,” Yoongi let out a small, humourless chuckle before a smirk settled onto his mouth and his thumb started to rub slow circles into the skin of your hand. “Most people who want something like this to go away,” He shifted closer on the couch and his palm began to glide up your arm. Your eyes shifted to your lap, knowing exactly where he was going with this. “Probably would’ve either stayed away or told me to shove off.”
The fingers of his right hand fluttered past your left shoulder as his shirt brushed the skin of your arm from his leaning closer. Everywhere he touched felt on fire, the soft pads of his fingertips pushing your hair behind your ear and exposing your neck did nothing to help. And then you felt his breath. Warm and flooding your senses enough that you couldn’t hold back a shudder. He chuckled darkly, letting his mouth come so close to your ear that you could feel the ghost of it along the shell. His voice was thick when he spoke, “you didn’t do either, so what exactly do you want?”
Your voice was hardly a whisper, heat beginning to churn inside your belly, “I don’t know.”
“I think you do.” He said with a laugh as his fingers grazed over your neck to cup your jaw. Gently, he turned your head so you looked up at him, his nose nearly grazing yours. He was close, so close, and yet never invading your space. Never taking that last step of intrusion without your permission. The city lit up the edges of his hair as he let your breath merely mingle with his own in the last inch of space between you. His thumb stroked your jaw lightly while his dark, hooded, eyes searched yours. “What do you want, Y/N?”
Your tongue felt heavy in your mouth, peeking out to wet your lips before swallowing the lump in your throat and saying, “He can’t find out.”
And then his lips were on yours. A mewl catching in your throat as your eyes fluttered closed because finally he was kissing you. Lips pillowed yours while his fingers left your jaw to tangle themselves up in the hair at the nape of your neck. Your hands flew from your lap to curl into the fabric of his shirt once again, pulling him ever closer. You were the one to swipe your tongue across the seam of his lips, practically begging him to grant you access. A month. One whole month since you felt this much heat pooling between your legs and all the man had done was kiss you, for christ sake.
When Yoongi finally let his tongue slide against yours, you really did mewl, making him chuckle into the kiss. He took the opportunity to explore your mouth, mint painting over your taste buds as one of your hands crawled up his chest to grip his shoulder. When your mouths parted, you leant forward, chasing his lips until a sharp yank of your hair moved you back into place. Seemed Yoongi hadn’t forgotten that you liked a little pain with your pleasure. Lips trailed across your cheek to your jaw as Yoongi made a humming noise, his hand fisting your hair to pull your head back far enough so he had full access to your neck.
“You seem a little wound up.” He remarked smugly before placing a wet kiss just under your jaw.
“N-no marks, Yoongi.” You moaned, fingers digging into his shoulder.
“‘Course not.” He chuckled, letting his lips and tongue glide down the column of your neck, leaving a wet trail in their wake. Teeth grazed your neck, but he did as you asked. “Wouldn’t want him knowing someone else is doing his job better, would we?”
You couldn’t reply, as the hand that wasn’t curled up in your hair grazed the skin of your thigh, inching ever higher. Instead, you let out a breathy exhale, the hand on his shoulder gliding to the nape of his neck. Lips travelled back up to yours, kissing you in slow, sensual pecks that wouldn’t be nearly enough to satiate you and he knew it. When it became apparent that he wasn’t going to take the initiative to tangle his tongue with yours, you tried to take control. Leaning as far into him as you could while he still held your hair in a fist, you snaked your tongue out to touch his puffed lips. A chuckle rumbled through his body to yours before he slipped away. His fingers released their hold on you and he shifted to rest his back on the arm of the couch, his left leg tucked to line your thigh while the other dangled off the couch. Heady eyes appraised your tousled appearance, raking over your flushed cheeks to where your fingers were digging into your thighs. With a thoroughly smug smirk, he patted his thigh.
Perhaps the motion should’ve made you annoyed, the implication that you were something akin to a pet more than clear. But instead it merely threw gas on the fire roaring in your belly. Maybe a little too eagerly, you moved so you could straddle him as he stretched his legs out under you. There was no denying the heat that flashed in his eyes as you bunched the fabric of your skirt so you could lower your weight down onto him. The jean material sitting in the crevice where your ass met your leg and just barely covering your core from his eyes. Not that it would be on for much longer if you had it your way. Both hands came to cup his face, tilting it up so you could crush your lips to his. His own digits snuck under your jacket, dragging over the curves of your waist as his tongue slid over yours. One hand slid to the small of your back while the other roughly palmed your breast, making you break the kiss with a hiss. It seemed your breast was only a stop though, his right hand continuing its journey up to push your jacket away from your shoulder. Taking the hint, you leaned back to rid yourself of the coat. Yoongi let his right hand come back to your thigh, skimming his hand back and forth over the length of it, inching higher with each stroke.
Dropping the jacket on the floor unceremoniously, you hastily reattached his lips to yours. As you kissed, your body started to follow the motions, gently rocking on his lap in an effort to encourage his digits to just dip under your skirt already. You huffed in exasperation when the pads of his fingers left your leg completely, feeling him grin impishly into the kiss. His teeth caught your lower lip as his hand began to tug your shirt out from where it was tucked into your skirt. Releasing your lip, he commanded gruffly, “off, Kitten.”
Obeying immediately, you used both hands to peel the loose tee off before depositing it on top of your jacket, your core clenching at the nickname. As soon as you were free of the shirt, Yoongi wrapped his arms around your waist, wrenching you into him. Clutching his shoulders to steady yourself, wet kisses coated your skin from your clavicle to the mounds of your breasts. Cold patches of saliva coating your chest made you shiver when his breath ghosted over them. The digits on your back traced up your spine until they reached their destination, deftly unhooking the clasps of your bra. The straps hung on loosely to your shoulders until Yoongi took it upon himself to slide them down your arms. As soon as they were revealed, Yoongi’s eyes fell heavily onto your breasts. Throwing the bra to the side, his hands clutched your waist as he brought his mouth to a nipple. A tantalized sigh escaped you when his tongue slipped out to flick a pert bud, only to circle it after. Dropping your head back, pleasure bloomed inside you as he teased your nipple until it was hard before moving on to the other. Hands clutched your skirt, forcing it up and over your hips to expose your cloth covered sex. Satisfied with his ministrations, Yoongi pulled back to rest once again against the arm of the couch as his hands slid down to cup your ass. Fingers digging into your cheeks, he guided you into rocking over him, causing you to let out a moan.
“You’re a mess,” he pointed out, arousal heavy in his voice making it rasp in a way that you’d always loved. His words made you clench around nothing, grinding your hips into him for friction that you desperately needed and feeling his bulge through his sweats. “I haven’t even touched you where you really want it and you’re a mess. You’re practically drooling. I bet your panties are soaked.”
It was true, they were. You could feel it every time you rolled your hips, your underwear sliding over your weeping core so it was slick with your juices. His words did nothing to help, each syllable shooting straight to your groin. Pleased with the fucked out nod that you gave him as a reply, one of his hands released your ass, the other coming to your hip to still your movements. Nudging you to support your own weight, you were about to whine in protest when his free hand traced your slit lightly, making the noise die in your throat. With the pace of a snail, Yoongi moved his thumb to press into your clit, slowly circling the sensitive nub. A shuddered breath escaped you as you stuttered, “Y-Yoongi.”
“What is it, Princess? That desperate already?” He teased, speeding up his thumb every few strokes only to slow down once more. You couldn’t bring yourself to care that you were practically putty in his hands already. You blamed the weeks of fantasizing about him for it. When you didn’t respond, Yoongi leaned forward to bite at the skin of your breast with a growled demand. “Answer me.”
You were certain he could have felt the way your sex clenched at his rough treatment. Yoongi had always been dominant in the bed, but never like this. Never this vocal. However, it was a welcome change; a new trait of his you were more than pleased to discover, though a little curious as to what brought it on. Swirling your hips in an effort to get more friction from his touch, you let out a whispered “yes.”
“Good.” He hummed, fingers flicking your underwear to the side so he could finally touch you. His index ran along the length of your slit, to collect your juices. Pulling the finger back to gaze at the slickness that now coated the digit, he questioned, “how long has it been since you were this wet?”
You nearly groaned when he brought the finger to his mouth, sucking the traces of you off his skin. “A month.”
Popping the finger out of his mouth, he gave you a delighted laugh. “That so? Boyfriend can’t seem to get you going?”
“Not like you.” Your answer was immediate, leaning over to peck him softly as your hands strayed to the edge of his shirt that had ridden up from when you’d rocked over him. You moved your mouth to his neck, slipping your hands under his shirt to feel the soft skin of his stomach.
He hummed in approval, letting his head fall to the side to give your wandering lips more room. When he spoke, you could feel the rumble of his voice against your lips, “Good answer.”
Sliding his hand back to your core, he swiped his thumb over you, capturing some of the moisture before returning it to your clit. Much to your relief, he had deigned to reward you with a steady circular rhythm that instantly had you gasping into his neck. When his middle finger delved inside you, you couldn’t keep your nails from digging into his abdomen. Pleasure bloomed inside of you as he dragged the finger across your walls and out before inserting it again. Moans left your lips in encouragement, muffled as you sucked at his neck. Sure, he wasn’t allowed to mark you, but there were no rules against marring his skin. Your hands explored the expanse of his chest, nails digging in every few thrusts and pushing the shirt up higher. When he inserted another finger, you keened and dragged your nails from his sternum to his pelvis hard enough to make him hiss, though he didn’t stop you. Slowly but surely, your hips began to rock in tandem with his hand, the thumb on your clit now only making contact when you rolled down onto his hand. Yoongi curled his fingers inside you and you shook, rolling down harder as your walls spasmed. Unable to focus on anything other than his fingers, your lips ceased their onslaught on his neck to bury your forehead there instead, heat consistently rolling through you. With every push of your hips you could feel yourself edging closer and closer to completion, your movements gradually getting rougher as you desperately chased it.
“Fuck, Y/N.” Yoongi groaned, “look at you go.”
His words spurred you to lift your face from his neck to see what he meant. Uncurling from your tucked position, you felt a spurt of pride when you noticed the way the milky skin of his neck was splattered with red, some spots dark enough that you were sure they’d form a bruise. Eyes crawling down to where his hand was buried inside you, you realized that at some point when you’d begun to lose yourself to the pleasure, Yoongi had stopped stroking your walls. Evidently, your rocking had been hard enough that he’d had to lower you down until his hand was resting against his own pelvis, stagnant. Embarrassment made your hips stutter when it dawned on you that you’d been using his hand like a toy.
“Don’t stop,” he growled, the hand on your hip squeezing almost painfully as it encouraged you to continue rutting against him. The pull and push of his hand, eased you back into motion, his eyes locked on where your center swallowed his hand. When he was sure you’d continue without his help, the hand on your hip trailed up to cup your breast, tweaking the nipple under his thumb. The only movement from the hand inside of you was a gentle curl that accompanied each thrust of your hips and made the tension in your lower abdomen begin to mount. “That’s it. Fuck yourself on my fingers, Princess.”
Below you, you could feel how hard Yoongi was. His thick length brushing against your inner thigh in a way that you knew couldn’t be satisfying for him, though he couldn’t seem to care less. You ached to touch him, make him feel even a modicum of the pleasure he was so effortlessly pulling from you. But with the position you were in, it was impossible. So instead you clutched the hand that was gripping your breast and brought it to your lips, Yoongi’s eyes watching you curiously as you did so. Pushing his index and middle finger together, you wrapped your mouth around them and swirled your tongue around them as though his digits were a much different part of his body. Satisfaction made you suck when you heard the barely there moan that escaped his chest at the motion. Shallowly, Yoongi began to thrust his fingers into your warm mouth.
“Shit, you really are desperate for me aren’t you?” He remarked, an amused mask cast over his features, but you could see the lust underlining his irises. Instead of answering verbally, you merely sucked, coaxing his fingers deeper into your mouth. A chuckle rumbled in his chest as his fingers in your core began to move again as a reward. “He really must not be taking very good care of you. Or at least not like I do.”
There was just enough insecurity in his voice for you to catch it, though Yoongi stamped out any chance for you to soothe it by clamping his fingers in your mouth down to trap your tongue while the ones buried in your heat began a brutal pace.
“Bet I can make you feel better with my fingers than he ever could with his dick.” Yoongi’s mouth tilted into a wicked grin at his own challenge. You already have, you wanted to say, but the fingers holding your tongue down and the spasming in your core morphed it into a strangled moan. The tension in your belly was taut now, threatening to snap with any plunge of his fingers. When he scissored his fingers inside you, you knew you were gone. The deep rasp of his voice in your ears breaking the floodgate when he said, “C’mon, Kitten. Cum for me.”
A tidal wave of pleasure lit up your nerves like a christmas tree. The intensity of it made your body curl in on itself as your hands clamped down on Yoongi to keep yourself steady. Hips stuttering, you rode out the waves as Yoongi’s fingers in your mouth slithered out, a lewd string of saliva strung from his fingertips to your lips. As your movements slowed, so did Yoongi’s, until he gently pulled his hand away from your mound. Blinking away the blurriness in your vision, you watched as Yoongi spread his fingers in the soft light of his apartment. Traces of you coated his digits, shining when they caught they caught the light as he brought them to his mouth. Hooded eyes locked with yours as he cleaned his fingers of your essence and despite the orgasm you’d just had, you felt your sex clench greedily.
Leaning forward, you pulled his fingers from his mouth so you were free to capture his lips with your own. Releasing his wrist, you rested a hand on his shoulder as the other snaked down his body. When you finally reached your desired destinations, you squeezed through the fabric he still wore. Yoongi broke the kiss to let out a breath, warming your lips as you cupped him through his sweats, the length of his dick solid under your touch. Eager to return the favour, your hand slipped under the bands of his clothes, taking him in hand and relishing in the feel of the contact. Trailing your lips to his throat, you pumped him, a soft groan rumbling under your kiss. You didn’t mark him any more, merely brushing across the marks on him before delving further. Truth be told, you were frustrated that he’d opted to keep his shirt on for the time being, aching to see and feel the skin hidden by it under your lips. You didn’t let it distract you though, shimmying down his body and positioning yourself so that you straddled one of his legs while the one that was closest to the edge of the couch moved so his foot was flat on the floor. Once you were settled, you tugged on his bottoms. Lifting his hips, he let you tug them down just enough that his erection could escape.
Keeping your eyes on him, you curled over to place a chaste kiss on the tip, the slow strokes of your hand never ceasing. You saw him try and fail to hide a shudder, evidently hesitant to show that you had just as much of an effect on him as he had on you. Resting your hand on the base, you kissed down his hard length. He cast an annoyed look, which made you smile. You let your tongue loll out of your mouth, dragging it up the underside of his cock before taking the tip on your mouth. Sucking lightly, you tasted the first hint of precum on your tongue and hummed, watching as Yoongi’s eyelids drooped with pleasure. Never did you think you’d miss the taste of someone's cum, and yet here you were. The desire to him surged inside you as you took him into your mouth, your hand sweeping over the inches you couldn’t yet reach. Yoongi gathered your hair in his hand, swirling it so it made a coil that wound around his grip to keep it from impeding your efforts. Resting the hand on the back of your head, he urged you further down his length with every bob of your head. The sound of slurping echoed in the apartment as you did your best to pleasure him in all the ways you remembered him liking. Taking a breath through your nose, you let your hand fall to his balls, cupping and massaging at them. Yoongi’s jaw fell so his mouth hung slightly open when you sucked him down until his tip hit the back of your throat. His grip in your hair tightening as he muttered “shit.”
The reaction made your stomach clench, rekindling the arousal between your legs. Sliding back up, your saliva coated his dick, the veins bulging just beneath the skin. Diving back down, you took him as far as you could, your free hand gripping his shirt in as you fought the urge to gag. He let out a small groan, his hand holding your head in place. Swallowing around him, he couldn’t keep his hips from jerking upward, tears springing in your eyes but you remained still.
“Fuck, I forgot how good at this you are.” Your lower half grinded over his leg in an effort to ease the tension that had built up in your core again as your heart swelled with pride from his praise. Easing up only a little to take a breath, you lowered even further, only stopping when the tip of your nose touched the skin of his groin. The moan you let out around him made Yoongi tipped his head back, relishing in the constriction of your throat on him and the feel of you rubbing yourself against him. Tears leaked out of your eyes as you struggled to not gag with him so far down your throat, failing once or twice. Though Yoongi didn’t mind, in fact he seemed to get off on it, a murmur of “good girl” falling from his lips each time. When the pressure became too much, you eased up once again, inhaling deeply. As soon as you went to take him in again though, the hand gripping your hair held you back. Brows furrowed in confusion, you fixed him with a questioning look as he sat up, dragging you up into a sitting position in the process. Yanking your head back to kiss a line up to your throat, he mumbled “I’d rather cum doing something else.”
A chill skittered down your spine, letting him push you around like a toy as he maneuvered you how he wanted. Wrapping an arm around your waist, he moved you to straddle him once again, lifting his leg that brushed the floor so it was once again on the couch. Holding you tightly, your chest was crushed to his, each breath making your breasts push against him. Weaseling a hand down in between you, you keened when he grabbed the base of his dick and ran the tip along your folds, quickly moving yourself to pull your panties to the side for better access. You were so wet again that you heard the slippery sounds of his head being coated in your juices. When he rimmed your opening, your head clouded with lust, desperation coursing through your veins and causing words to tumble past your lips without so much as a second thought. “Yoongi, please just fuck me.”
“Hm,” he hummed, holding you up so that you couldn’t sink down on him like you wanted. A smirk toyed at the edges of his mouth again as he admonished, “I think you can beg a little better than that.”
“Please,” Surely, you thought, this counts as some form of torture. A gasp escaped you when he let the tip of his length delve into you and proceeded to hold it there as words started to babble from your mouth. “I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you for a whole month. You make me feel so good, Yoongi. I can’t stop thinking about how you fucked me on that stupid chair and how much I just want you to do it again, how much I just want to feel you inside me again. I want you to stretch me out, fill me up, and make it so you have to carry me home. Please.”
“Much better.” His praise is accentuated by his length finally slipping the rest of the way inside of you, finding little resistance from how wet you were.
A pleased sigh left your mouth as his now free hand swatted yours away from your underwear to hold it to the side himself, thumb hooking into the material and pinning it to where he gripped your thigh. The hand that was slithered around your waist fell to your hip as he leaned back, letting you move to start rocking on him. There was no denying how he made you feel. You hadn’t been lying when you’d begged. The proof being in how perfectly he filled you and how you’d hardly moved at all yet you already felt your walls pulsating around him, begging for the feeling only he seemed to be able to give you. You never felt like this when you had sex with Woojin, or anyone else for that matter, and the admission of that frustrated you. What if staying with Woojin was the mistake and not this?
It’s only sex for right now, you reminded yourself, picking up the pace as though to prove it to yourself. Focusing on how Yoongi’s dick stroked your walls in an effort to will away your thoughts, it was almost as if the man below you knew your thoughts were straying. He bent his legs under you to prop his heels against the seat cushion before drilling upward to match your thrusts, effectively whisking away any thoughts that weren’t about him. Your mouth gaped and you tilted your head back, feeling the coil in your stomach getting ever tighter. Apparently, he felt it too, immediately wrenching you off him when it felt on the verge of snapping.
The groan of frustration you gurgled out was cut short by him muttering gruffly, “Stand up.”
Without protest, you shifted your shaking legs to stand. Yoongi moved to sit before you, his hands groped up the back of your thighs until they met your ass. Kneading your cheeks roughly, he tipped forward. Your hand curled in his hair when his tongue peeked out to glide over the skin of your lower stomach in a wet kiss, punctuated by his teeth nipping at your hip. Unceremoniously, he yanked your panties down before standing. Stepping out of the fabric, you flung them to the side with your toe as Yoongi’s mouth met yours, his hands gripping your hips. Your tongues danced as you felt Yoongi pivot the both of you so you now had your back to the couch. Pulling away from the kiss with a nibble at your lower lip, he turned you abruptly. The silken skin of his cock brushed against your ass, the leftovers of your sticky fluids transferring from him to you. Lips brushed against your ear as a hand traveled up your curves to rest against the top of your spine as he all but growled, “bend over.”
He hardly gave you the chance to obey, his palm pressing into your spine to tilt you forward. Bracing yourself by gripping the top of the couch with your elbows bent so your back was nearly level, the hand on your spine slithered to your head. Fingers gathered your hair in a fist and yanked it toward him like a leash, forcing your head to pull back, your spine to bend, and your ass to push into him with a hiss. At the sound of your pain, the hand loosened to your own dismay.
“Too much?” You immediately shook your head ‘no’. There was no doubting the pleased note in his voice as his grip tightened again to pull on the strands of your hair and he replied, “good girl.”
A foot nudged in between yours, edging your feet outward to spread your legs for him. Guiding himself to your entrance, he thrust himself inside you. His free hand gripped your hip, blunt nails digging into the skin as he pulled back and thrust himself back in with a resounding snap of his hips. The pace he set picked up right from where you’d left off instead of building up. Your shrill cry of pleasure echoed in the apartment, the new angle allowing him to hit deep with each push of his hips. The force of his movements jostled your body, the strength causing your breasts to sway underneath you. The feel of cotton brushed against your spine as Yoongi’s body curled over yours. His dick was filling you in the way you had only felt when you were with him, your brain reduced to mush as he pushed you more toward the couch with every thrust until your arms were bent and the only thing keeping your head from falling into the top of the couch was the grip on your hair. Your jaw hung open, moans and mewls escaping your lungs as you pushed backwards to match his rhythm. You were close, nearly letting out a sob when his pace slowed.
“Tell me,” his breath fanned against your ear, your mind swirling with pleasure. His words were slightly laboured, most of his effort going toward plowing you into the couch. “How many times have you thought of me when you were with him?”
“Before the party?” You replied, breathlessly. “Never.”
“And after?”
You didn’t have the capacity to feel embarrassed at the moment. “Every time.”
At your admission his hips snapped into you with renewed vigor and you couldn’t help but feel a little satisfied at the fact that Min Yoongi was jealous. Pain tingled at your scalp as Yoongi pulled on your hair, forcing you to follow as he tilted up, causing your arms to straighten. Fingers trailed up your stomach, briefly pausing to palm your breast before travelling further upward until they reached your neck. Digits gripped your throat, his forearm finding its home in the valley of your breasts making you feel the way the muscles tensed when he tightened his grip to limit your breathing. A moan was caught by his hand, the sound coming out choked and gurgling. Yoongi pressed his forehead into your shoulder, a grunt pushing past his lips when your walls began to contract tellingly. With a few more thrusts, you came undone.
A moan rumbled against your back, your legs trembling as ecstasy crashed over your body, the pressure at your neck heightening it. Your vision became spotty as wave after wave of pleasure coursed through your veins. Velvet walls spasmed around Yoongi, his hips stuttering at the sensation, though continuing to guide you through your orgasm. When a faint feeling began to fog your mind, you reached up to tap Yoongi’s hand. Immediately he released your neck and you gasped in a gulp of air, the sopping sounds of Yoongi pistoning into you rang in your ears as he desperately chased his own end. With a few more snaps of his hips and a harsh grope of your breast, Yoongi finished. A groan of pleasure hung in the air as he hastily pulled out, painting your back with ropes of white. He shifted a hand to stroke himself, riding out his high. A piece of you couldn’t help but feel disappointed that he didn’t want to cum inside of you like last time. In the back of your mind, you had to wonder if this was him drawing a line and if it was for his sake or yours. As the last of his orgasm dribbled out, he released a breath of hot air that you felt faintly caress your shoulder before wrapping his free arm around your stomach. For a moment the both of you were silent, exhaustion making your chests heave while your bodies began to cool, his cum making goosebumps rise on your skin as it began to dry.
“Was that okay?” Yoongi asked suddenly, breaking the silence. His voice was soft as he spoke, a stark contrast from earlier. “Not too rough?”
You brought one hand away from the couch to rub at the arm that encased you, “it was more than okay.”
His chest vibrated with a chuckle. “Good, you always were kinky but I thought I’d check.”
Changing your tune, you slapped his arm. “I’m kinky?! What does that make you?”
Yoongi struggled to keep the giggle from his voice when he pinched your side and quipped, “a willing and considerate partner.”
Feeling your legs beginning to shake, Yoongi sighed and pulled away from you, releasing your body from his hold as silence fell over the room once again. You did your best to stay upright, only faltering a little before your legs remembered that they were, in fact, not Jell-o. Your hands ached when you finally released the other from its hold on the back of the couch and stood up straight. You hoped that your vice grip hadn’t done any damage to the material. A shuffling of fabric could be heard behind you and you turned your head to peer at Yoongi as he walked across the living room to the washroom. Collecting your clothes off the floor, a twang of regret pulled at your heart that you hadn’t been able to see his body as you’d fucked. However, it was quickly snuffed out by surprise when you caught yourself thinking, there’s always next time. You mentally began to prepare yourself, remembering how sick you’d felt after you’d last had sex with Yoongi, and even Woojin for that matter. For over a month you’d felt disgusting after having sex and now, when by all means you should feel that way, you didn’t. Even with the thick rivulets of cum from someone who was most definitely not your boyfriend slowly dripping down your spine. But why?
Your contemplation was interrupted as Yoongi gently placed a hand on your shoulder, a slightly worried look on his face as he bit his lip and turned you to wipe his cum off of your back with a rag he had gotten. Scratching the back of his head, he nodded toward the other side of the living room.
“There’s a bathroom there if you want to get cleaned up. I have clothes you can wear…”
You knew what the unspoken question was in that statement and as much as you wanted nothing more than to accept his offer, you couldn’t. “I should probably go back home.”
He nodded, unsurprised by your answer. “Yeah, I guess he’ll be waiting for you, hey?”
           “Yeah.”
He was silent and you felt a stab of self-consciousness now that the heat had been taken out of the room. Glaringly aware that you were standing naked in his apartment you held your jacket to your chest so it at least partially covered your body. “At least let me make you something to eat before you go. There wasn’t much left at Luna’s after the guys dug in.”
Lifting your eyes from the pile of clothes you crushed to your chest, you shot him a soft smile. “I’d like that.”
Nodding, he turned and shuffled toward the kitchen as you made your way to his bathroom. Flicking on the light and closing the door, you quickly began to attempt to make yourself presentable. Sliding your skirt and bra on, you decided to forego the panties that you shoved into your jacket pocket. Your hair was the worst of it, thoroughly mussed from Yoongi’s hands. When you did your best to smooth it down, you couldn’t help but notice that the follicles felt sore, though you didn’t actually mind much. The reward of his roughness was most definitely worth the pain you felt between your legs and where his hands had handled you. Once you were satisfied with your appearance you exited the bathroom, a savory aroma wafting to your nose.
“Ramen?” You asked, coming to stand beside him at the stove.
A grin made his lips turn upward as he stirred the noodles in the pot, remarking, “only the best for my hook-ups.”
“Oh.” You deadpanned, a flare of jealousy licking at your insides. “So, I’m not the only one coming around then.”
“Wouldn’t you like to know?” He chuckled. “Not that you really have a right to complain here.”
That made you frown guiltily. “I-I guess you’re right.”
Noticing your sullen expression, he started to backpedal, “Sorry, I shouldn't have said that.”
“No,” you shook your head before tilting it to lean on his shoulder to stop him from thinking he’d upset you. “I mean you really are right. I pretty much told you I’m not going to stop what I’m doing so it’s not fair for me to expect you to.”
He hummed, his features screwed up in thought. “Then, what happens now? I’d rather not wait another month before seeing you again.”
“Me either, honestly. We do whatever we both feel comfortable with, I suppose.”  You could feel the tension melt from Yoongi’s frame, though your own seemed to bask in it. Anxiety chewed at your soul, despite what you said, at the thought of this all blowing up in your face, but you still didn’t want to let this pass by. Deep down you knew that if you did, you would never stand a chance at ever letting Yoongi go with a million ‘what if’s’ taking residence in your head. Sensing your thoughts running rampant, a hand glided to rub at the small of your back as a sweet distraction. A small sigh left you as your head fell to his chest and his arm coaxed you to press your body into his. “Just like you said on the roof, I want to explore this.”
“Okay,” Yoongi agreed, nodding. “So, let’s say I asked if you’d kiss me right now. How comfortable are we feeling with that?”
An amused giggle escaped your lips, craning your neck to look up at him. “So comfortable that I just might say yes.”
Pushing yourself up onto your tippy toes, you slanted your mouth against his. The kiss was soft, lips welcoming one another as old friends and sending a warm feeling through your chest. Your fingers crawled up to rest your palm against his sternum as you pecked him for a second, third, and fourth time. Pressing circles into his chest with your thumb, you broke the kiss to brush your lips against his cheek before falling to the flats of your feet. Turning his attention back to cooking, he waited a few more moments before shutting off the burner.
“Go sit.” He said, jerking his head toward the breakfast bar at the kitchen island.
You nodded obediently, extracting yourself from his warmth to slide onto one of the barstools. Yoongi grabbed two bowls and filled them, rounding the island to place one in front of you before plopping down onto the stool beside you with his own. Motioning for you to dig in he watched as you blew on the scalding meal, biding his time until you’d shoveled in a couple mouthfuls before saying. “You are, by the way. The only one.”
You coughed on the hot soup, his laughter echoing in the room as he pat your back and your cheeks warmed. Swallowing the mouthful, you shot him a glare. “You did that on purpose.”
“Maybe.” He admitted, a playful, content smile on his face which stayed there for the rest of the night.

Possible TS7 Release Dates
Well hello ... I honestly wanted to write my next post AFTER the reputation era was finally over. Because I’m very over reputation.
But here we are ... somehow I thought Taylor’s last two dates on the reputation tour would have been this weekend. No. The two Tokyo dates that will finally end the reputation era are still to come. I hope you guys in Tokyo have fun, really! It’s just - I would like to move on, please?
So here, to lighten up my mood and maybe you’re too, are potential release dates for TS7.
I still believe that Taylor is very very close to drop her next album. Therefore I will include dates from this year too.
Since the counting of sold units and played units begins each friday and that is not likely to change any time soon, I guess it is rather safe to assume that a new single or new album will drop on a friday. But maybe Taylor will mix it all up? Who knows at this point, huh?
This year Taylor’s birthday, december 13th, falls on a thurday.
Would she drop a new single on the 13th at midnight or early morning of the 14th 2018?
Maybe? What I really expect is a concert film because we still haven’t got the reputation concert film. Fingers crossed she doesn’t pull a “red concert dvd” on the reputation concert taping ... (since we know she recorded a show, a rain show no less!)
I kinda like her birthday in 2018 though - she will turn 29 und this will really be and end of something. And of course the beginning of something new. Will she celebrate it by sharing new material?? Yes, please!!
Since Taylor loves the number 13, two dates really stick out in the next year.
First there is friday the 13th of september. Which would be absolutely perfect for a first single! With the cut for the Grammys (album of the year nominations) being the end of september, this date would be well, perfect! Ideal! How could Taylor not?
The album could then drop .... OMG ... on Taylor’s 30th birthday! Friday the 13th of december 2019!!
But let’s remember that Taylor gave one of her rare original quotes - I dare not call it official interview - to Perez Hilton that there would be indeed a song about turning 30 long before her 30th birthday. Hmmm. Which means if the album was to drop in the autumn/winter of 2019, that the “30″ song would be published before the album? Would it be the first single? I don’t know ....
These dates really follow Taylor’s old and tried formula - first single end of fall, album earliest in october of the year. But what about if Taylor would break out and would choose a date in the first half of the year 2019? If you have an idea what date might be interesting, please comment. I thought about this a bit, but really couldn’t come up with anything .... and Taylor is hinting TS7 left and right - I really still think TS7 is close - very close even!
Unfortunately we still don’t know which way Taylor will go concerning her recording career. I do not doubt Taylor could just produce an album on her own dime. It’s just that Taylor certainly needs the distribution ... for that she would need a partner. (Or maybe she won’t if she would choose to go alone - but that would need a bit more time to build her infrastructure.)
What other artists are about to bring an album to the market?
Question is - who would be competition? Beyoncé? She doesn’t seem to be working on an album. (But who knows, she really does her own thing.)
Adele - now she would totally dominate the charts and airwaves when she will release new material. And apparently she is recording? My guess is, we would hear when there is a new Adele album about to come out and we haven’t heard anything. Then there is both Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus. Gaga is certainly all wrapped up in promoting “a star is born” until early 2019. She will probably take a small break - would she drop a new album in the fall 2019 too?
Miley seems to be farther along. But we still don’t know any dates. And her last album ... the sales were weak. Would she even be big competition for Taylor?
I don’t really see anyone else being a real danger to Taylor’s first week sales - meaning an album drop by another artists would interfere with her sales.

REVIEWING THE CHARTS: 19/12/2020
Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” spends a second week at #1. It’s #1 in the States as well. We’ve got a week of Christmas music and a Taylor Swift album bomb so... God, let’s just get this over with. Welcome back to REVIEWING THE CHARTS.
Tumblr media
Rundown
So let’s start as always with the drop-outs from the UK Top 75, which we have a few of but not as notable as the last few weeks, as the less interesting 2020 hits that just can’t leave the chart are slowly dropping off. We have some of the bigger hits like “Looking for Me” by Diplo, Paul Woodford and Kareen Lomax (Good song, by the way), “WAP” by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, as well as some more recent and more moderate successes like “Princess Cuts” by Headie One featuring Young T & Bugsey, “i miss u” by Jax Jones and Au/Ra and “SO DONE” by The Kid LAROI. I can see this all rebounding after Christmas though, especially those last few. What I can’t see rebounding are the three Christmas songs that ironically dropped off from last week, particularly “Santa’s Coming for Us” by Sia which I do not remember being a top 20 hit. We do, of course, have some more fallers as well, like “34+35” by Ariana Grande at #14 and “Santa Tell Me” also by Ariana at #17 – not a good week for her, I suppose. I also find it funny that we have a couple Christmas songs that actually dropped places this week, not many of which are notable, but to give an example, due to three separate songs entering the top 10 this week, “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” by Michael Bublé dropped five spots to #12. On the course of fallers, we also have “Midnight Sky” by Miley Cyrus at #22, “Therefore I Am” by Billie Eilish at #28, “Holly Jolly Christmas” by Michael Bublé at #36, “Monster” by Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber at #44, “Head & Heart” by Joel Corry and MNEK at #48, “Blinding Lights” by the Weeknd at #50, “Lemonade” by Internet Money and Gunna featuring Don Toliver and NAV at #51, “you broke me first” by TateMcRae at #57 (the biggest fall this week), “Golden” by Harry Styles at #58, “Lonely” by Justin Bieber and benny blanco at #60, “Wonder” by Shawn Mendes at #63, “What You Know Bout Love” by the late Pop Smoke at #65, “See Nobody” by Wes Nelson and Hardy Caprio at #69, “Sunflower (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse)” by Post Malone and Swae Lee at #70 and “A Little Love” by Celeste at #74. Of course, we also have some notable returning entries and gains, those returning entries being “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” by the Jackson 5 at #75 and “Baby it’s Cold Outside” by Adele Dazeem and Michael Bublé at #61. The most notable gains aren’t as plentiful this week because I feel like most songs, Christmas or not, are relatively stable if they’re not falling dramatically off the chart, so I’m not going to separate it into festive and non-festive tracks this time. We start off with “No Time for Tears” – the biggest climber this week – by Nathan Dawe and Little Mix up to #64, “Christmas Lights” by Coldplay at #43, “Get Out My Head” by Shane Codd at #32, and whilst that’s it for notably large gains, we do see “Whoopty” by CJ and “This Christmas” by Jess Glynne enter the top 10 at #10 and #9 respectively. Delightful. Well, we’re already done with the rundown – oddly quickly – so let’s get on with these new arrivals.
NEW ARRIVALS
#72 – “The Business” – Tiesto
Produced by Anton Rundberg and Tiesto
I have no time for umlauts. They’re simply not productive. Dutch DJ Tiesto has been at it for a while now and “The Business” is his new house-pop track with vocals from James Bell, probably propped up the chart by a remix with English DJ 220 KID. The original song charted though, so we’ll talk about that one and I do like the cold, bizarrely eerie strings for a song like this, even if the pitched-down vocals make it more comical than anything. The deep house groove here is cool but mostly cheap, especially whatever the hell those claps are. The bridge is aimless and James Bell gives a performance really not worthy of note. At least this has some essence of personality and artistic intent, unlike 220 KID’s usual output, who actually improves on the song by giving it more of a 90s Eurodance tinge, in my opinion at least. The 220 KID remix is a remix of a song that already felt like a remix though, so everything about this is unnatural and awkward, even for EDM.
#71 – “Cuddle Up, Cozy Down Christmas” – Dolly Parton and Michael Bublé
Produced by Kent Wells
The only time country music charts on the UK Singles Chart is when it’s barely country or Dolly Parton. Whilst a lot of country music is rarely appreciated out of the States, I feel like Dolly Parton is one of those singers that’s just universally loved. Michael Bublé on the other hand I have no patience for and I was dreading the time I’d have to review his songs again. The man made a career of off offensively inoffensive Christmas standards and his original music is painfully bad, so honestly, I’ll take it, but the man is clearly not interesting and whilst I understand why Dolly had him on her A Holly Dolly Christmas TV special in the vein of Mariah Carey’s this same year, I’m not excited to hear it. I’m not excited to talk about it either, because this is only vaguely country and is mostly just a jazz-adjacent traditional pop standard, except this is an original song. Neither Parton and Bublé have any chemistry, there’s a lot of empty space, and Bublé’s awkward attempts to add personality to what is and will always be a dull, painful slog of a track are just cringe worthy if anything. This song is barely about Christmas either or anything warm and intimate about cuddling up with family as I expected. It’s just the image of Dolly Parton banging Michael Bublé by the fireplace, and it goes on for about three minutes and 39 seconds too long. Next.
#66 – “Baby it’s Cold Outside” – Brett Eldredge featuring Meghan Trainor
Produced by Ron Mousey and Jay Newland
“Baby it’s Cold Outside” spews controversy nowadays, and whilst I never found a reason to be mad at what is clearly a dated but to me pretty innocuous and satirical Christmas standard, I never found a reason to like the song. Even the classic Dean Martin version is pretty much a slog, but that doesn’t mean I can stomach John Legend’s “politically correct” version either, which is probably the worst rendition I’ve heard, although Bublé’s is close. I don’t mind Tom Jones’ attempt, I guess. Regardless, this version from 2016 is by another country singer, but it did just chart because Meghan Trainor’s here. These two might have even less chemistry than Dolly and Bublé; at least they tried, whilst here despite the song being a back-and-forth, they seem to be on completely different ideas on how to tackle the song. Admittedly, I like this flat, jazzy rendition of the track fine but if anything Trainor is an inconvenience to my enjoyment of this lounge track. She shows off her vocal strength a bit too much for it to work until that awkward burst of energy at the end. Also, Brett Eldredge exists. How unfortunate. It may also be insensitive in retrospect, and maybe ironic, that the song ends with Eldredge warning her she might catch pneumonia if she went outside. Huh.
#55 – “Forever Young” – Becky Hill
Produced by Charlie Hugall
“Forever Young” by Alphaville is one of those classic 1980s synth-pop tracks that sounds so obviously 1980s but is far from dated, with the lyrics being a take on contemporaneous political issues covered in optimistic calls for action and gorgeous strings that undercut Marian Gold’s longing, belting delivery and of course, that horn section at the end that sadly fades out instead of coming to a genuine climax but would be brilliant either way. The song has a legacy indeed, and is continuously topical, being covered by One Direction, Kim Wilde and Imagine Dragons, and being sampled or interpolated by Dorian Electra, JAY-Z, Maroon 5 and even Tangerine Dream. The song has had so many reimaginings that it’s hard to imagine what new can be done with a classic track that didn’t really need much reworking in the first place... so naturally, Becky Hill made an acoustic cover for a McDonald’s commercial. It’s just her singing it vaguely competently over an unimaginative piano rendition of the original, but it does offend me in how it strips everything out of the original song to replace it with a vague orchestral swell and exhaustingly boring delivery from Becky Hill. Sure, the original song sounds cheaper now but if anything, this sounds even cheaper, with mixing drenched in reverb that makes everything sound a lot uglier than it’s supposed to. JAY-Z screwed “Forever Young” up to hell and back on his track with Mr Hudson but at least he rapped over it and had a bit of a sample flip, instead of just reciting the lyrics and chord structure without realising what made the song so biting and anthemic in the first place. This isn’t REVIEWING THE ADVERTS though, even though most of the time it ends up being, so I won’t bore you much longer with this.
#37 – “Show Out” – Kid Cudi, Skepta and Pop Smoke
Produced by Dot da Genius, Plain Pat, Heavy Mellow and Gravez
I knew this would be the highest-charting track from the Cudi album as soon as I saw the feature credit, but I didn’t expect it to be the only one charting. Regardless, I should probably talk about the album because I have listened to Man on the Moon III: The Chosen, Cudi’s highly-anticipated follow-up to his last two Man on the Moon records, both of which are pretty damn great, and this one isn’t far from it either. I liked it a fair bit and even if its derivative first few tracks means it gets off to a slow start, there are absolutely moments on this album where we see a classic Cudi matured and aged, and able to talk about mental health in shallow detail as always but from a perspective where we see a Scott Mescudi that has settled down and is happy with life. While it’s far from a perfect album, I won’t lie and say it wasn’t heart-warming to hear Cudi like this considering how much he’s struggled in his decade-long career, and it’s backed by great, psychedelic production as always. “Show Out” is a complete abandonment of all of that, acting as a shallow turn-up drill track with a massive posthumous hook from the late Pop Smoke’s booming voice, accompanied by an Auto-Tuned Cudi mumbling over gorgeous string samples, which don’t feel like they’re watered-down by the overwhelming drill beat and instead accentuated, which I think is missing from a lot of UK drill. It helps that Skepta is here to slide effortlessly in his verse. He’s selling out shows and shooting guns “the same size as Kevin Hart”, and whilst the verse feels a little short, he absolutely steals the show when he’s there. That’s not to say Cudi doesn’t spit endlessly on his verse, which is also fire, before an atmospheric bridge where, in the midst of the gang violence and hedonism, he calls out to God to ask what the cost of it is. It’s the one part of the song that makes it make any lick of sense in the context of the album, but it’s also the one part I’m never so sure on. It sounds pretty jarring between Cudi’s verse and the hook, and it’s not cathartic when Pop Smoke comes back in so I think it could have been better used as an outro if anything. Other than that, the song is still really hard-hitting and one of my favourites from Man on the Moon III. Songs like “The Void” and “Rockstar Knights” with Trippie Redd blow it out of the water though.
#19 – “no body, no crime” – Taylor Swift featuring HAIM
Produced by Taylor Swift and Aaron Dessner
As you probably know, Taylor Swift dropped a new album last week called Evermore, which is basically a much weaker collection of B-sides from the Folklore sessions. I’ll discuss my gripes with the album more as we get onto “willow”, so I’ll give some short individual reviews here. This is one of my favourite tracks on the record, mostly because of how it takes Taylor back to her country roots but in sharp contrast to the original bubblegum country-pop style she had on her first few albums, she and HAIM of all people perform a pretty convincing true crime story about a missing persons case that might just end up being a murder. With a catchy chorus, oddly eerie and menacing delivery from Taylor Swift that sounds determined and honestly kind of badass with those electric guitars in the post-chorus, as well as some descending melodies in the verses I admittedly love, this is one of the best tracks on the album without hesitation for me. It’s one of the few tracks on Evermore that feels like Swift’s storytelling, knacks for infectious choruses, and the more serious, rootsy acoustic guitar-based instrumentation, are in perfect harmony, even if it is a bit short and much like the rest of the album, it falls victim to the meandering nature of these songs and their aimless bridges or outros. Either way, it’s good. Check it out if you haven’t already. It’s cool to see HAIM back on the chart too, by the way.
#15 – “champagne problems” – Taylor Swift
Produced by Taylor Swift and Aaron Dessner
When I was listening to Kid Cudi, Avalanches and Taylor last Friday all in one session, I was constantly engaged even through the duller parts of the second half of We Will Always Love You or the most rote, derivative Travis Scott rip-offs present on Man on the Moon III. I was only awake for about three and a half hours when I first went through Evermore, but you know that feeling you get in your eyes when you start feeling tired or exhausted? Maybe that’s just a me thing, but “champagne problems” is that feeling when your eyes start to sore a bit and you start blinking a bit more. The storytelling isn’t as engaging as it usually is on this track, and although I do like the main narrative, it takes a detour and doesn’t decide whether it wants to focus on that or a vaguer metaphor about mental illness and how it’s affected Taylor as a celebrity. I care about that on Reputation but I do not give a damn when it’s presented with this uninteresting chasm of piano melodies and a really awkward, pointless outro, once again, that’s out-of-place if anything. I wish anything on Evermore was as good as “seven” but that’s wishful thinking. Anyway, let’s start rambling, because it’s the big-boy debut time now.
#3 – “willow” – Taylor Swift
Produced by Aaron Dessner
I have nothing to go off when judging Aaron Dessner’s production. He’s the frontman behind The National and he does contribute to the album vocally on one of the worst tracks but usually takes a backseat in production. On Folklore, although Dessner was still greatly involved, it felt a lot more varied and interesting from Taylor particularly, who went on unexpected songwriting angles and some melodies I genuinely love. I’m not a fan of the indie-folk direction for her – I think her style of writing and vocals actually fits better on pop tunes, which might be a hot take but I mean, my favourite album from her is Reputation so I’m full of those when it comes to Taylor. I can appreciate when it’s done well, though, and I like her storytelling abilities most of the time, unless of course the song itself is nothing to be interested in... and, I’m sorry, but half of Folklore was aggressively dull, particularly the back half, and I can barely make it through songs like “exile”. Maybe I just don’t “get” it, maybe I’m just not “listening hard enough”, or maybe, perhaps, I’m just not a fan of Taylor doing exactly what she usually doesn’t do on her albums, which is bore me. Say what you want about Red, 1989 or even Reputation, and ESPECIALLY Lover, but they take risks, intriguing ones at that and whether they’re successful or not is obviously up to listener’s interpretation, but regardless, it makes for a listen that is unpredictable and often fascinating. Lover is an absolute mess full of pretty mediocre attempts to do... well, anything, but it’s a better listen than Evermore out of sheer intrigue alone. It’s interesting to hear Taylor try all of these different musical ideas, whether it’s her trying obnoxious bubblegum-pop on “ME!”, ballads with the Dixie Chicks, 1980s-style synth-pop on “Getaway Car” and the majority of 1989, or even industrial-pop rapping on “...Ready for It?”. It’s not interesting to hear her make 16 quite similar songs and less than half of them have a unique flavour to them that makes the hour-long listen feel like you gained anything from it. It’s not just the album experience either that Folklore and Evermore lack, but it’s also the songs themselves, particularly in Evermore. Let’s look at “cardigan”, one of the best songs on Folklore, with Swift’s pretty low-key but emotive delivery, a noticeable and profound refrain, songwriting that evokes a pretty sweet metaphor and tells the start of a story that runs throughout the record in a way that can detach itself from the rest of the record, infectious choruses (even if they are cribbed somewhat from “Wildest Dreams”) and that subtle drum machine with pretty intricate percussion patterns covered by gorgeous string compositions, and a four-minute runtime that feels worth it, especially for that last chorus and verse, an effortless switch-up. Now let’s compare it to its equivalent lead single “willow”, a track with a checked-out Taylor singing pretty janky, awkward melodies over a cluttered mess of guitar strumming, with absolutely none of the very few ideas Taylor has musically actually succeeding. The song has to drop out entirely because Taylor and Dessner apparently can’t handle the three over-lapping ideas just in the first two verses and choruses, and whilst it still has that switch-up for the third verse/bridge, it does not feel worth it because there is another, over-long chorus with no lyrical adjustments to the hook that made the subtleties in “cardigan” so special. The song is 20 seconds or so shorter than “cardigan” but feels a lot longer because of how directionless the outro is, and none of it feels like anything other than a pretty folk-pop tune (which is barely qualifies as anyway because of how ugly these acoustics are, and how meandering Taylor’s cadence is throughout). She tries out the chorus with and without the falsetto for no reason other than to extend the song by the end and it makes effectively no change to how the chorus feels like it’s delivered. I’ll give “willow” credit that it’s listenable and a lot less boring than other tracks on Evermore but I can’t see this as anything more than a failed attempt that should be met with a “game over, try again” screen. I’d accept the musical chaos of misshapen ideas if I ever felt it was genuinely warranted. On Evermore, nothing Taylor does is what the audience deserves accompanying – or maybe even improving on – Folklore. Sorry.
Conclusion
Yeah, “no body, no crime” by Taylor Swift featuring HAIM takes the Best of the Week, but it was a toss-up between her and Kid Cudi, who gets the Honourable Mention for “Show Out” with Skepta and Pop Smoke. For the Worst of the Week, it’s really picking your poison between sickly Christmas duets, but I’ll ignore them and give it to Becky Hill for absolutely butchering “Forever Young”, with a Dishonourable Mention also going to Taylor Swift and “willow”. Here’s the top 10 for this week:

Rumour Has It
MASTERLIST
Part 1 Part 2
Request: Um.. Can I request a Seb song fic? It's Adele's rumour has it. It's up to you to make it a one shot,, or long ones! Thx:)))
A/N: So, this was supposed to only be one part but I just kept writing and writing.... this ended up being over 6K words and it’s probably somewhere around the middle of this story so... Yeah, decided to split it into two parts. If you guys are not happy with the ending, I could MAYBE do an alternate ending that would probably not fit the song or the way I thought about it. Some people may think of it differently but I hope you like my take on it and enjoy reading this long piece.
Pairing: Sebastian Stan x reader
Words: 6,085
Warning: If your name is Tempesta or Tempest to be exact, I’m sorry. I don’t mean to offend anyone, I actually think Tempest is a pretty damn cool name. I’m sorry I made the reader speak so badly about the name. I just searched rare names and Tempest showed up.

The lyrics in the video and the lyrics I've added in this story are different because the lyrics I wrote down are the ones on the album version.
You had been friends with Sebastian for a long time. You were very close, spent a lot of time together. He was the kind of friend you could talk to when something bothered you, he was also the kind of person to distract you when you wanted to forget about something. He was the type of friend you could always rely on, no matter what.
The close friendship that you two had was something that had other people questioning if it was only a friendship or something more. Especially since both of you were in the public eye.
You nor Sebastian really minded it. Sure, sometimes the questions about the two of you possibly dating got annoying but most of the time, it really didn't bother you that much. The both of you knew what you two had was just a friendship. Neither of you even thought about it as anything other than a friendship.  Sure, you thought Sebastian was attractive, there was no denying that but you were sure you only saw him as a friend.
Until Sebastian got himself a girlfriend.
It came up one night when the two of you were at his place. You two were watching a movie and eating pizza. He mentioned having been seeing her. Although for the next few times she would continue to come up in a conversation between you and Sebastian you tried to act like you didn't remember her name, it was seared into your brain that very first time.
"What kind of a name is Tempest?" You scoffed as the name of the woman Sebastian was seeing got revealed. "That's a whore's name if I've ever heard one," you muttered to yourself while taking a bite of the slice of pizza you were holding.
"What did you just say?" Sebastian asked, eyes widening in surprise at your judgmental words.
Your eyes did the same as you realized what you had said. For some reason you had become very angry at the mention of her name, or from the mention of her in general.
"Come on, Seb,"  you laughed, looking at him to see him staring at you with his brows knitted together. "Tempest? If that doesn't sound like a name for a stripper or prostitute then I don't know what does."
Sebastian let out a sigh in frustration and placed his arm on the backrest behind you. "Her name's actually Tempesta."
"So... French?" You asked, just wondering, not really caring.
Sebastian shrugged as a response.
"Uh-huh," you replied while crossing your arms and looking away from him.
Sebastian raised a brow at your strange behavior and the angry glare you held in your eyes as you watched the movie. "What's wrong?" He asked, confused.
You glanced back at him and saw the questioning look on his face. Looking at him, you also started thinking about how odd you were acting. You looked away from him, incredibly confused.
"So, her name is Tempesta but she wants to be called Tempest?" You asked, trying to divert the conversation away from you. "I know what kind of attention she wants..." You muttered under your breath again, standing up and going over to the bathroom.
"What was that?" Sebastian asked. His tone held no anger so you were sure he hadn't heard you.
You looked at him with a fake smile and shrugged. "Just said it was an interesting choice of a nickname."
Sebastian nodded but lstared at you with a suspicious look but let you leave without questioning any further. You quickly rushed to the bathroom and rested your hands on the sink, looking at yourself in the mirror.
"What the hell was that?" You whispered to yourself with a frown covering your face.
As you thought about the words that had come out of your mouth, you put the lid of the toilet and sat down. You ran your hands over your face before staring at the door. You thought of all the hateful things you had said about the woman you had never even met and also the burst of strong emotion you had had. You had gotten angry...
Or were you jealous?
"Oh, no," you gasped silently before placing your hands over your face. "Damn it," you said, your palms muffling your voice.
She, she ain't real She ain't gonna be able to love you like I will
The dreaded day had come. You were meeting the woman he had been seeing.
You were sitting on the dinner table with Sebastian sitting opposite you. You kept turning your glass, spinning it gently and looked at the beverage moving inside while Sebastian kept glancing at his phone.
"Where is she?" He asked as he ran his fingers through his hair the way you had only learned to really appreciate after learning about his new relationship. "She should have been here 40 minutes ago."
Well she's not making a good first impression, You thought to yourself. "I'm sure she'll be here soon," you said while reaching out to his hand that he was using to type a text on his phone. You took his hand in yours and sent him a small smile. "She'll be here soon," you repeated, hoping the opposite.
He sent a small smile back and squeezed your hand. You felt your cheeks flush and you took a deep breath as quietly and subtle as you could. You looked down at your intertwined hands and couldn't help but smile. Suddenly every little touch you two shared ignited a fire within you. You cursed at yourself for not realizing how you truly felt about him sooner. His damn girlfriend was making her way to the restaurant you were at.
"Oh, she's here," Sebastian said and pulled his hand away, making yours drop down to the hard surface of the table. You sighed in disappointment and pulled your hand back, grabbing the drink you had on the table and took a big gulp.
"Y/N?" Sebastian called out from beside the table and you turned to look at him, seeing a beautiful, a gorgeous woman with Sebastian's arm around her waist. You saw her manicured hand making its way to his chest where she rested it before laying her head on his shoulder. She pulled back up as Sebastian decided to finally introduce you two. "This is Tempest," he said and you stood up from your seat.
You extended your hand for her to shake and she gave you the most fake smile you had ever seen. She shook your hand, her grip loose. "Nice to meet you," she said while pulling her hand away from you and placing it on Sebastian's shoulder once again, keeping her eyes on you.
You shot her a questioning look before glancing at Sebastian quickly. He nodded towards Tempesta, urging you on to say the same to her. You sighed through your nose and sent a small smile in her direction. "It's nice to meet you, too."
She flashed her pearly white teeth and Sebastian moved over and held out a chair for her to sit on. You felt disappointed that he didn't offer to do it for you like he had done before she had arrived. You sat down on your own and saw him sitting down soon after. You looked at him more closely and saw that her foundation had smudged on his light blue button up.
"Seb," you said and he turned to you with a smile. You pointed to your own shoulder before pointing at his. "You've got a little..."
Sebastian glanced down at his shirt and chuckled. "I'm going to go try to get this off. I'll be right back." He flashed both of you a smile which only she returned.
She didn't even apologize for what happened to his shirt. You couldn't help but start your mental pros and cons list about her. So far, there were only cons.
"So, what are you going to order?" She asked while reading through the menu.
"Oh, I'm—"
"I think I'm going to take a salad."
You mentally rolled her eyes when she didn't let you finish. "Really?" You asked, faking an interested tone. "You sure you don't want..." You trailed off as you looked through the menu for the greasiest option. "Number 18?"
She shook her head and laughed although she cringed. "I can't. I'm a model, I have to take care of myself."
You mentally rolled your eyes again, almost doing it physically. "Oh, you're a model?" You asked, deciding not to mention the comment about 'taking care of herself'.
"Yes, I'm just starting out. I'm not that famous, yet," she laughed charmingly. "Although I do hope I get big soon," she said and nodded at the seat Sebastian had sat on.
Your face fell at her latter comment and you placed the menu back on the table before looking around for Sebastian. "Are you saying you're hoping to get more famous because of Seb?" You asked with a whisper.
She shook her head with a smile.
"Are you using him?" You asked and your voice was getting louder.
"No!" She said with a laugh. You pursed your lips and your jaw tensed. You couldn't believe she was laughing! This was a serious topic, you weren't going to sit back and let this aspiring model use Sebastian for fame and money. "I'm not really using him, just hoping to get acknowledged along the way."
Your fists clenched underneath the table and you stood up, excusing yourself before you neared the bathrooms, hoping to run into Sebastian.
You saw him walking from around the corner and he smiled instantly. "Hey, Y/N," he said and neared you. "Is something wrong? You seem a little—"
"You need to stop seeing Tempesta," you stopped him before he could finish what he was about to say.
He took a step back and his brows furrowed. "What?" He asked quite harshly.
You huffed, placing a hand over your forehead as you realized you had started with the wrong thing. "Listen, I know she's pretty and all that but she literally just said she wants fame to come out of dating you. She's a big faker! A gold digger! You need to stop seeing her."
Sebastian shook his head in disbelief and crossed his arms on his chest. "I can't believe you."
"Me?" You asked, placing a hand on your chest. "What have I done?"
"You just jump into conclusions! The first time I mentioned her, you called her a whore."
"I know and that was a... I don't know what that was but this time I swear—"
"If you can't stop trying to find something wrong with her instead of trying to get along, you can just leave," he said with his voice rising as he gestured to the exit. "Because I am staying here with her whether you like it or not." He finished and went back over to the table.
You sighed, calming yourself before standing up straight and going back to the table. To say you were hurt that he'd rather choose his girlfriend over you was an understatement. As he had said it, it felt like he had ripped your heart out of your chest and tossed it in the nearest trashcan.
You had known him for much longer than she had. You had build a strong bond with him. You knew you cared about him more than she did or ever would. She was literally using him. She didn't care about him, she cared about the fame.
Although it hurt you, you put on the best smile you could muster and sat back down on the table. You saw Sebastian with a pleased smile on his face.
You took another deep breath and took the menu in your hands. You were going to get through the dinner, for Sebastian.
She is a stranger You and I have history Or don't you remember Sure, she's got it all But, baby, is that really what you want
You had invited Sebastian over to your place the next week on Friday. You had nothing special planned. You just wanted to talk to him. You had tried to get a hold of him all week but he hadn't really had the time because he was hanging out with his girlfriend that you still despised.
You were looking at yourself in the mirror, making sure you looked presentable. You never really made an effort to look nice for Sebastian and in your mind, you were trying to convince yourself you were just doing it for yourself but in the back of your mind, you knew you were doing it for Sebastian.
You weren't really expecting him to really react any differently, you weren't trying to seduce him or anything. You just wanted to make a little effort to look a bit nicer for him. You wanted to start out small and slow. You had no intentions of making a move on him or tell him how you truly felt about him. You didn't want to ruin his relationship, no matter how much you wanted it to crash and burn.
You heard the doorbell ringing and you rushed over to the door, opening it to see Sebastian holding takeout in his hands. He smiled instantly but his gaze fell down to your body and his eyes widened. "What—" He started, not able to stop his eyes from raking up and down your body. "What's this?" He asked, referring to your body.
You looked down and realized you had a black silk robe on. You had completely forgotten to change into some actual clothes as you had heard the doorbell ringing. You chuckled sheepishly and shrugged while tightening the robe around your body. You were only wearing your fanciest black lace lingerie set underneath it which may or may not have been intentional. You crossed your arms over your chest and smiled up at him. "Sorry, I just got excited that you got here." You shrugged and hugged him briefly.
Sebastian smiled once again, now it was much wider and held more joy behind it than the previous one. He nodded and got in, closing the door behind him.
"Make yourself at home, I'm going to go get some shorts," you said before turning around, very aware that he could see a bit of your bottom from underneath the hem of the robe. "Unless you have a problem with me wearing this?" You added as you spun around again.
He shook his head, clearing his throat. It looked like he was having a hard time keeping his eyes on you face and you bit the inside of your cheek to not show him how pleased you were that he was obviously feeling some type of way because of the way you were dressed.
"No it's perf— It's fine."
You nodded and headed to your bedroom once again. From the mirror that was on the wall in front of you, you saw that Sebastian was checking you out, even tilting his head as his eyes landed on your bottom. You decided not to call him out on it and quickly went to your bedroom and put on some pajama shorts before going back to find him sitting on your couch while setting all the food on the table.
"I got your favorite," he called out as he heard your footsteps behind him.
"You're the best," you said as you flopped down on the couch next to him, patting his thigh. You held your hand on his leg as you reached out for the food. You felt his muscles flexing under your touch and the promises about not making a move were slowly starting to unravel.
You pulled back and got comfortable on the couch. A part of you wanted to throw your legs over his lap like you usually would but he was obviously feeling slightly flustered, you decided against it. You had to slow down.
"Are you feeling alright?" You asked while shoving mouthful of the food in your mouth. "You seem a little... on edge."
"I'm good," he said with a nod. "Happy to finally see you again."
Your cheeks warmed up immediately and you damned the way he could make your mood shift so easily. You really were in deep for the man. You wish you would have noticed it sooner.
The two of you started talking about this and that, practically covering every topic imaginable until she was mentioned again.
"You know, me and Tempest went to this—" He was interrupted by you groaning. "What?"
"Can you please refer to her as Tempesta?" You asked with an exasperate sigh. "At least when she's not around. I can't take someone seriously when their name is Tempest."
"Why not?" Sebastian asked. "Tempest means a storm. What's so bad about that?"
"It may mean storm but sounds like what you call a very tempting woman if you catch my drift."
Sebastian rolled his eyes and took a bite of his food. "I don't understand why you have such a big problem with her," he muttered angrily. "Come on, she's alright."
You snorted. "Alright?" You asked. "She's you're girlfriend and the adjective you use to describe is 'alright'?" You laugh again. "Just admit it, you're not happy with this girl!"
"I am!" Sebastian said as he put his food back on the coffee table in front of you two. "Seriously, why do you have a problem with her? What's wrong with her?"
"Why do you even care about what I think about her?" You asked, starting to sound as angry as he did.
Sebastian fell quiet and his jaw tensed as he swallowed hard. You saw his  Adam's apple popping as he looked into your eyes with his own fierce ones. He was clearly mad but as much as he seemed to want to let everything he was thinking to burst out, he kept it inside.
You sighed, placing your food on the table as well. "Can I just ask you something?" You asked calmly, seeing him shifting on his seat. He nodded, letting you ask what was on your mind. "Where is she from?"
Sebastian's brows furrowed but you urged him on, wanting to hear his answer. He huffed and thought about it, not knowing the answer. "I'm not sure, actually."
You nodded, humming. "Does she have siblings?"
Sebastian shrugged, a frown making its way to his face. "I don't know."
"Are her parents alive?"
"Don't know that either. I'd assume they are."
You threw your hands up in the air and let them drop down onto your thighs. "See! You don't know anything about this girl. You're complete strangers."
Sebastian ran his fingers through his hair in frustration and turned towards you on the couch, lifting one of his legs on the couch and laid his arm on the backrest. "We're still getting to know each other."
"What do you talk about with her?" You asked. "It clearly isn't about personal stuff."
"Mostly her career, my career, what we do during the day."
"That's it?" You asked, surprised. "You're in a relationship, committed to this person and the only thing you talk about is your day? Honey, you don't sound like a couple you sound like co-workers who are not that good friends but are the only ones at work and they feel the need to make a little conversation."
He chuckled at your metaphor and nodded, "I can see that."
You rested your elbow on the back rest and turned your body towards his so you two were facing each other. You laid your head on your hand and saw the thoughtful look on his face. Staying still, you reached out to him with your other hand and nudged his shoulder. "She's almost like a complete stranger to you, Seb. You deserve to be with someone who is interested in you, not only your career. You deserve someone who wants to know about your childhood, who wants to know what scares you, what makes you happy or sad..." You said as you gently placed your hand on his chest and scooted closer. "You deserve someone who actually cares about you."
Sebastian glanced down at his lap and took your hand in his, still keeping it on his chest. He nodded, agreeing with you. "She's just hard to break. Don't you think she cares about me? She just isn't the type to have a heart to heart."
"Seb, you're a person who likes to have a heart to heart with a person you trust, a person who cares about you."
"Like you?" He asked carefully.
You nodded, pursing your lips. "Like me."
His gaze switched between your eyes as if he was looking for answers to the questions running through his head, or more like searching for the questions he didn't know how to ask.
"Sebastian, we have history. We know basically everything about each other," you began and scooted even closer, laying your hand that was on the side of your face on his shoulder, moving to the back of his neck. "I care about you. More than she does."
Sebastian kept looking at you, not able to glance away for even a second.
"I know Tempesta is pretty, gorgeous, really. I know she lives like a celebrity and she is starting to get more recognition. She has a similar lifestyle to yours. She seems very put together. She has everything," you said and smiled sadly. "But... Is that really what you want?" You asked quietly.
Sebastian glanced back down before looking into your eyes and shook his head slowly. "I don't think so," he whispered with a guilty look on his face. "I need more than that."
"There are people who can give you what you need," you replied, your gaze falling to his lips. His tongue pushed past his pink lips to wet them before his teeth sunk into his bottom lip. You shuddered at the sight, hot breath hitting the side of his face.
"Like you?" He asked quietly, pulling his hand away from yours and placing it on your thigh. His broad chest was heaving up and down and you could feel the warmth of his body more prominently. Or maybe it was just your own body heat.
You started leaning in, your noses merely touching as your eyes closed. You swallowed the small lump in your throat, feeling his breath on your neck, making goosebumps appear. "Like me," you replied.
Sebastian's grip on your thigh tightened and he leaned in only to rest his forehead on yours with a sigh as his cellphone started ringing. You both pulled away. You sat back as he reached for his phone and watched intently as his jaw clenched at the sight of the screen. He was quick to answer the call with a small, "Hey."
You listened carefully, hearing a feminine voice on the other end of the line. They were very loud, practically screaming through the phone.
"Wait, where are you?" Sebastian asked slightly louder. "Where are your friends?" He asked before rolling his eyes at the answer he got back. "Of course they ditched you," he muttered and got up from the couch. "I'll be there in ten."
You sighed in disappointment and turned on the couch to rest your back against the backrest. You let your head fall back and closed your eyes. You hoped, with all your heart, that what had just happened wouldn't make things worse for you two.
"It's Tempest. She's in a club alone, needs a ride."
You crossed your arms as you lifted your head up. You stared ahead of you and nodded. "Is she okay?" You asked, not really caring.
"She's fine," he answered with a bored tone. "I'm sorry."
You looked up at him, shrugging. "You do what you've gotta do," you said while standing up. "I was beginning to get tired anyway."
"Good night, then."
"Good night."
The air between you was clearly uncomfortable and your stomach churned. You shook your head slightly, thinking about how that 'not making a move' plan had gone out of the window. You looked back up at him to see him staring at his phone. You leaned forward and gently nudged him towards the door. "Drive safely. Take her to her house, leave a glass of water before you go home, whatever."
He smiled and chuckled lightly. "I will."
You nodded, hoping he really was going to take her to her place and not stay over. "Lock the door when you go." You said as you headed took the takeout from the table and headed to the kitchen to put them in the fridge.
"Of course," he called out before nearing the exit.
You put the food in the fridge and closed the door as you heard the front door close. You rested your forehead against the fridge door and cursed silently under your breath.
Bless your soul, you've got your head in the clouds You made a fool out of you And, boy, she's bringing you down She made your heart melt But you're cold to the core
Not more than a day passed when you finally heard from Sebastian again. You had been too embarrassed and nervous to contact him after what had happened. You two had almost kissed.
As you were just sitting back on your couch and looking through some emails, you got a message from Sebastian. It was a picture.
You opened it, not knowing what to expect. You opened the picture and it was only a Starbucks cup with his name on it. No, it had Sedabstian written on the side.
You looked at the picture in confusion and just as you were about to type a text back, Sebastian sent another picture to you, now it was him dabbing.
You rolled your eyes and rested your head on your palm, groaning before bursting into laughter.
SEBASTIAN NO, you wrote back.
A couple of seconds later a text arrived from him that said, SeDABstian YES.
You're such a dork. Also, everyone is so over dabbing. I don't even remember when that began, you typed back to him before tossing your phone on the couch next to you and turned back to your laptop to check on emails. You shook your head, thinking back on what Sebastian had sent you. You were surprised he even knew what a dab was. The man called memes, mee-mees. He wasn't always aware of internet trends like that.
Another message was sent to you and you took your phone in hand, seeing another text from Sebastian. It read: I missed you.
Your heart fluttered at the three little words on the screen and you couldn't help but smile. You typed a quick text back to him telling him you kind of missed him too. You wanted to make a remark how it had only been a day but since you felt the same way, you chose not to.
The texts continued back and forth for a while before he asked you what you were doing for the rest of the day. He asked you to hang out at his place since Tempesta was working the whole day and you rolled your eyes at the mention of her name.
You lift almost immediately, changed to different clothes and got in your car. You drove to Sebastian's place and went up to the door, ringing the door bell. You didn't have to wait long until he was at the door. He looked a little tense but still he had a smile on his face as he saw you. He invited you in but didn't offer a hug which let you know that something was definitely up.
You two walked over to the living room and sat down. His posture was very stiff and you decided to ask something about it.
"What's wrong? You seem tense."
"Had a bit of a fight with..." He trailed off. You picked up on it and mentally thanked him for not saying her name.
"I'm sorry," you said. "Do you want to talk about it?" You asked and placed your hand on his shoulder.
He shook his head. "Nah, I just want to forget about it for a while."
You smiled, kind of glad he wanted to forget about it and not talk about it with you. Although if he wanted to talk, you would have listened. You would do anything for Sebastian.
"I kinda feel like having ice cream. What about you?"
"I'd love some ice cream."
"Great! Don't you have a jacket?"
"It's warm, it's fine."
"We might be out late. Take this," he said and handed you one of his jackets.
You took his jacket and wrapped it around your waist before you two got in his car and drove a few blocks away from the nearest ice cream shop. The two of you got out of the car and started walking, talking about what he was going to be filming next. He seemed like he was going to be pretty busy with different projects.
"Dude, am I gonna see you at all this year?" You laughed, nudging his shoulder with yours. "I mean, congrats on all these different films but—"
"Thank you," he interrupted you. "And of course you're going to see me. I can fly you out to come and see me if you start missing me too much."
"You do know my life doesn't revolve around you, don't you?" You chuckled as the two of you stepped in the shop.
You two waited in line until you got to the counter. When the employee looked up at you, his eyes widened. "Winter Soldier," he whispered almost inaudibly.
You bit your bottom lip to prevent yourself from laughing and glanced at Sebastian, seeing him with an embarrassed smile on his face. You smiled at the boy behind the counter who looked at Sebastian. "Yeah, Winter Soldier's getting ice cream," you muttered.
"What can I get you?" The starstruck teenager asked, trying hard to contain himself and not freak out. "Would you like to try our Marvel specials?" He asked as he showed a poster on the wall behind him, seeing ice cream sundaes inspired by some Marvel characters.
"Damn, what a coincidence. Ooh, I'll take a Winter Soldier sundae," you smiled widely, looking at Sebastian.
"Good choice. Winter Soldier's the best."
Sebastian chuckled at the comment and looked at you as well, smiling. "I'll take the Black Widow one," he said.
"Oh, of course." You playfully rolled her eyes. "You really are desperate to have Bucky and Nat get together in the movies."
"It's in the comics!" He defended himself. "People need to respect the comics."
You waited for the kid to make your sundaes and paid for them. Just as you were about to leave, the boy asked if he could take a picture with you two. He called out one of his coworkers to take the picture after you and Sebastian agreed. You both held your ice cream sundaes up and smiled. The boy asked for Sebastian's autograph too before you finally got to leave. You decided to prance around while enjoying your special sundaes.
"Don't eat yours yet, I need a picture of this." He took out his phone. He stood right beside you, head almost leaning on yours as he raised his phone. "Hold out yours like this," he said as he extended the hand with a cup of sundae in it. You followed his movements and tilted your head to look at his phone screen, trying to see how the picture was going to turn out.
"It looks good, doesn't it?" He asked as he showed you the phone.
You nodded, smiling. "It's perfect."
Sebastian wrote a quick caption before posting the picture on Instagram. He then shoved his phone in his pocket and the two of you continued walking around.
"Wait you've got little red star sprinkles?" He asked. "Mine has red hourglass shaped sprinkles."
"You know these sundaes are kind of matching," you pointed out.
"Another readon for Marvel to make BuckyNat happen."
You shook your head, smiling as you took a bite of your sundae. You chose to take a bite of the silver ice cream ball to find out it was just vanilla with some food coloring. You had yet to taste the nearly black ice cream.
"Is it good?"
"Yeah, it's fine. You want some?"
He nodded and handed you his sundae while he took yours. You tasted the red ice cream and hummed at the taste. "Cherry?" You asked.
Sebastian shrugged, mumbling, "I don't know." He tasted your sundae and let out a quiet moan. "Oh, man... I taste good."
"Yeah, you do," you said and took your sundae back.
Sebastian shot you a surprised look and you realized what you had just said. You both burst out laughing. You held your hand on his shoulder as you laughed. As you both calmed down a bit, he slung his arm around your shoulders. "I really did miss you," he whispered while pulling you closer.
You smiled and wrapped your arm around his back. "I missed you too." You admitted before looking up at him. "And I'm glad to see you've already cheered up."
He sighed sadly and pulled his arm away from you. His mood dropped instantly and you grew worried once more. You placed your hand on his arm, making him look at you. "Seb, what happened?"
"I think Tempesta and I kind of broke up."
There it was, the name you always hated to hear. This time, you didn't focus on the name, though, you focused on the fact that he just said their relationship was over.
"What?" You asked. "I'm so sorry. You two seemed so happy."
"Happy?" He asked, almost amused. "Really? Because I remember you saying 'Just admit it, you're not happy with this girl!' a few days ago."
"I have no idea what you're talking about," you said, hinting that you didn't want to think about the night.
"You do remember."
"No... When was this?" You asked, trying to act clueless.
"The night we almost kissed."
You stopped in your tracks and so did he. You turned to look at him with wide eyes and saw him staring down at you with a determined look. He was suddenly in no mood for jokes.
"Oh," you said quietly, looking down at the pavement. "That night."
"Yes, that night."
You nodded, continuing to walk. "So, what came between you and—"
"Did you want to kiss me that night?" He surprised you once again.
"Seriously, though. How did things end with—"
"Y/N, please," he begged as his fingers wrapped around your arm. You turned around, trying to seem as calm as you could while looking into his desperate eyes. "Answer the question."
You stayed quiet, pursing your lips as you glanced at the ground. He wanted to know if you had wanted to kiss him. He would definitely call your bluff if you were to lie. So, you decided to go with the truth.
"Yes," you said as you looked back up at him. "I did want to kiss you."
You looked around anxiously, wanting to look anywhere but him. You felt his eyes burning on yours but you didn't dare to look at him. That was until you felt his hand on your shoulder.
Your eyes immediately met his in an intense gaze that made your heart flutter. He leaned down enough to be on the same eye level as you and the corners of his lips flickered upwards only slightly. "I really wanted to kiss you, too."
You only realized how close the two of you were when the click of a camera was heard far away. Your head snapped to the side to see a paparazzo taking pictures of you two. You gently pushed Sebastian away and pointed your eyes to the paparazzo although you were facing Sebastian. He took notice of your actions and followed your gaze, acknowledging the fact that you had been caught in very close proximity.
"We should probably head back to the car," he said and you followed as he started walking again.
You glanced at the paparazzo one more time and sighed, knowing there were going to be pictures of you and Sebastian up on the internet tomorrow.
Now rumour has it she ain't got your love anymore

WHY THERE IS NO COMPARISON BETWEEN BEYONCE AND TAYLOR SWIFT
Now,before i start with my case,i would like to clarify that i am a beyonce fan but not a tswift hater. Infact, i love her songs. They are hella catchy. So now i am gonna present you some facts so you can get to know why bey is the queen and taylor isn’t inspite of her being an amazing female artist. 1) Some swifties claiming that “Taylor is the new queen” , “1989 has so many no1 songs. When was beyonce’s last no.1 song ? In 2008? Single ladies huh ?” Now honey, let me tell you that bey is no longer a “singles” artist which taylor still is. Beyonce is an “album artist”. This woman dropped an entire album on itunes at midnight without any promotion and changed the game. who does that ? AN ICON. Bey doesn’t need a single to make her successful because she already is. Sure,’Blank Space’ is an amazing song and its a right move for her to hit back at her haters. Yes it was a no.1 song on the billboard charts. But does it have an impact on the generation ? Nope. Now “Formation” - a song from beyonce’s “Monumental album lemonade” (As said by adele, Period.)  Was it a no1 on the charts? NO. Was it impactful ? HELL YES. She got white people talking about the black lives matter bubs. 2)Taylor swift’s RED and 1989 both are amazing albums. While the former is about her feelings. heartbreak and romance..the latter is romance presented in a more ideal way , flipping her haters off. Are they good albums ? YES. ( Do they deserve a grammy album of the year ? While Red should have won cuz it actually that good. 1989 shouldn’t have won. In an ideal world, everyone should admit it that a man talking about the pain of black people, police brutality, slavery in such a bold way is commendable but not the grammy’s aka the racist award ceremony. Rather than thinking of it as people hating on taylor, think of it as people giving that man (Kendrick lamar) the credit that he deserves. Grammys are racist. Adele knows it. Kanye west knows it. Frank ocean knows it. Every fucking artist knows it. So its time that we know it too rather than defending our favs and missing out the entire point of frank ocean saying that “To pimp a butterfly” deserved to win rather than “1989″.  ) On the other hand, beyonce’s self titled album and lemonade are both extraordinary albums. Both lost a grammy AOTY( duh ! Obviously. Its grammys bruh and Bey is a black artist) While the former is about embracing sexuality and feminism, the latter is about infidelity, reconciliation, black lives matter. Are they good albums ? FUCKING EXTRAORDINARY BRUH. 3) The whole experience of listening to bey and tay’s album is amazing. While listening to taylor , i connect with her lyrics and associate with some incident in my life. Bey’s albums makes me wanna dance, then be a boss ass bitch, then cry when a sad song comes on ugh. Its a roller coaster ride. But in the last few years, the experience of listening  to a beyonce album is better than listening to a tswift album . Blame it on the extraordinary concept of beyonce’s visual albums. She is making such cool and powerful albums that its hard to like beyonce and tswift’s album the same. Bey is in the lead baby. You gotta accept it. 4) If we’re talking about commercial accomplishment then tay might be the one ahead right now but beyonce was doing all that when tay was dropping her initial albums. She’s come far beyond that. She doesn’t need her albums to sell millions of copies the way taylor’s does because even after years , bey’s albums are still the talking point. Not for the damn sales, but for the message it holds. ( Btw this is the woman who brought in the whole alter ego thing. Sasha fierce ? Yonce’? YAAAAAS ) Also beyonce is the only female artist to have all her 6 albums debut at no.1 on the charts so... 5) Tay might interact with her fans a lot to get that connect but does bey even need that ? Bey might not talk to her fans on tumblr or respond to them on twitter the way taylor does but when she is on that stage singing “Halo” or “XO” or anything else it feels like she is just talking to you. That connection my love, is not easy to achieve so easily. She doesn’t need to interact with the beyhive to increase her fan base. It has been increasing forever since 2003. -> Taylor swift might be the biggest FEMALE ARTIST in the world right now but Beyonce is the biggest and the most impactful ARTIST AND ROLE MODEL in the world. ( She doesn’t need that whole ‘male’ ‘female’ artist distinction. Lmao ) And that is why Beyonce is the Queen and artists bow down to her including your fav.

Grammy Predictions 2017
As much as I enjoy the Grammys every year, this year they kinda snuck up on me. I hope to tune in if I have the time (at least for Lady Gaga and Metallica, because that sounds too insane to miss), but even if I don’t, I thought I might as well make my predictions and see how they fare in the morning. Of course, there are tons of categories to consider (and I am rooting for Pentatonix to win Best Country Duo/Group Performance*), but for the sake of time and interest, I figured I’d just cover the big 4. Who knows if these will come true, but if they do, that’ll be neat, huh? Either way, let’s get to it:
Record of the Year
What Will Win:  “Hello” by Adele
What I Want to Win: “Stressed Out” by twenty one pilots
I could see this one going to "Formation," too, but there's no doubting the power of Adele. I am skewing this in her favor considering 21 swept Record, Song, and Album when it came out, but even without that, "Hello" was HUGE. I remember hearing it everywhere and all the time, and the memes and parodies that followed were countless and, honestly, top-notch. It's not my favorite Adele song, but it was certainly her biggest hit, and it still sounds great. Personally, I mostly want "Stressed Out" to win because I like twenty one pilots in general, but it is unique with their weird mix of rap with alt rock. As a record, it certainly had a cool enough sound to get me hooked on the rest of their work, but it's still kind of an underdog.
Song of the Year
What Will Win: “Love Yourself” by Justin Bieber
What I Want to Win: “7 Years” by Lukas Graham
“Love Yourself” is a truly well-crafted song, and the fact that Ed Sheeran helped work on it shines through. As far as Bieber songs go, it’s my personal favorite! I’d be happy to see it win, and “Hello,” “Formation” or even “I Took a Pill in Ibiza” would be cool winning by me, but I do have to say something about “7 Years.” I actually don’t like “7 Years” that much, but it does tell an interesting story in a form that doesn’t exactly work like your typical pop song. I’m not sure if it will win anything, but it does have a lot of creative merit, and I think, while it’s not my favorite, it deserves some recognition, and this is the perfect category for it to win in.
Best New Artist
Who Will Win:  The Chainsmokers
Who I Want to Win: Chance the Rapper
The Chainsmokers, especially with "Roses" and "Closer," had a huge year. They've become insanely popular, and that's impressive to me given how they debuted with "#SELFIE." That being said, I don't really like the Chainsmokers at all, and they're probably the one nominee I'm rooting against. I'm indifferent on pretty much everyone else, but I did find Chance's Coloring Book surprisingly enjoyable considering I'm not that into hip-hop! He was the catalyst I needed to check out more hip-hop, and I appreciate musicians that open my eyes up to different styles like that. He has some great lyrics, and his sound just makes me feel good: maybe not happy, but just solidly good (plus he covered the Arthur theme song, once, and that’s too cool). I'd say he's a contender compared to the Chainsmokers, but in terms of broader pop appeal, the Chainsmokers might have the edge.
Album of the Year
What Will Win:  25 by Adele
What I Want to Win: A Sailor’s Guide to Life by Sturgill Simpson
This is going to be a fun one! Maybe barring Justin Bieber's Purpose, this could be a total toss-up. I'd still bet on 25 because of its mainstream success and because of how it followed 21, which also won the award, but I could just as likely see it go to Lemonade, and Views and ANTI we're pretty big too. Still, I'd love to see Sturgill pull off an upset. If you're like me, you probably didn't hear about Sturgill until the Grammy nominations were in, but A Sailor's Guide To Earth does sound fantastic! To see him win over 5 of the biggest names in pop music would be insane, but he definitely deserves the award just as much as the others.
When the nominations first came out, I wasn’t that stoked to see anyone in particular win in the big categories, but now I’m pretty excited to see what happens. After listening to some of these artists again, I think this could be a crazy night. It does kind-of boil down to Adele vs. Beyonce in a lot of senses, but the Grammys are known for their surprises, so whether it’s live tonight or online tomorrow, I’m very curious to see who wins what, whether that matches my predictions or what.
*NOTE: Mid-writing this, I just found out that Pentatonix WON THEIR THIRD GRAMMY! Congrats to them, now let’s see how the rest of the categories pan out!

Album reviews, 11/8/17
A-Ha- Cast in Steel: I reviewed another of their albums sometime in the last ten years, so I shouldn't be surprised they're still around, but it's just good to know they're still making music. :) Granted, if you're looking for another "Take on Me", you'll be disappointed. Their last outing was more progressive rock, and while this is a bit poppier than that, it's still not exactly New Wave. That said, it's also fairly languid, if pleasant, more reminiscent of British alt-rock of the mid-90's. I'd stick to their earlier work, even the more recent stuff. 5.5/10
The Libertines- Anthems for Doomed Youth: Speaking of 90's British alt-rock. This is surprisingly low-key punk rock, and makes me think there's a reason I never got into these guys. They really do still have that 90's sound though, for better or worse. It's thoroughly okay as albums go. 5/10
Low- Ones and Sixes: Mentally calling these a stripped-down, downtempo Animal Collective, but that's not quite right. There's a little play with noise in some of the tracks, but otherwise they're kind of along the lines of Elbow. There are some interesting tracks, like "No End", but it's overall not super-exciting. 5.5/10
I found a new EP from New Kids on the Block. I can't believe this exists. I also can't believe I'm liking one of the songs. I've really gone soft in the last 20 years. D: And on that note, Rebecca Black is a really, really good pop singer. I dunno what's changed, but her new shit is unbelievable.
Duran Duran- Paper Gods: Speaking of New Wave acts who are still around! This has a more New Wave sound than a lot of what they've put out in the last 20 years. I rather appreciated that. It also reminded me that I never really liked any of their early albums, either. 5.5./10
Chris Cornell- Higher Truth: RIP. D: If you weren't familiar with his work and want to know what we lost, look no further than this album. His gravelly moan is perfectly suited to this acoustic, blues-infused rock. This is absolutely some of his best work. This is a really great album, even if it's heartbreaking to listen to. Hopefully you've heard it long before my slow ass did. 7.5/10
Leona Lewis- I Am: I've liked things she's done in the past, but this album lacks any character of its own. The shadow of Adele stretches far and deep across the realm of female American pop singers. 5.5/10
The Wonder Years- No Closer to Heaven: Shouty post-punk. These guys are perfectly fine, save that they do nothing to differentiate themselves from the rest of the bands I've heard over the years that sound exactly like them. Nothing about this even caught my attention. 4/10
Shinedown- Threat to Survival: Been a while since I heard anything from these guys! It's, well, more or less what I expected. Fairly juvenile, have to look askance at the lyrics of the opening song, "Asking for It". Like, yeesh, yeah, you can kind of guess how that goes. I guess these guys qualify as "jock rock" now, huh? 5.5/10
New Order- Music Complete: I can't believe these guys are still around, either! This is pretty decent retro club music, though the tracks are frequently repetitive. (If I'm complaining about repetition in dance music, then something is definitely wrong.) Still more enjoyable than not, and they even do a couple of interesting things. 6.5/10
