brainstorming is defs my fav part of the process and the most helpful part to me. just getting a blank document and writing stuff you want to happen without worrying about how it connects to the story, and then a lot of the times as i was doing that id just keep going and it would kinda tie itself together/id come up with a solution as i was writing / once the ideas kept flowing. so basically : TIMELINES AND OUTLINES I VERY MUCH RECOMMEND, but very low pressure and barebones ones. for example, this is what my outlines/brainstorming look like

its honestly just me talking to myself LMAO, and a lot of the time ill interject and be like "OH YEAH AND THEN THIS CAN HAPPEN" as the ideas come while im writing BAHAHA. its a super fun process and honestly nothing feels better than just getting hit with that flash of inspo, and since its all very low effort theres no pressure to actually write well and its just a chill fun time AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR OWN PROCESS / WRITING💖💖💖it can be difficult but HOPE U HAVE FUN TOO💖💖

What was it like for your Transfem Leo to come out to her family?

Intro:

Oh my god I love this question. I LOVE ANY QUESTION ACTUALLY. Personally I've been debating on whether Leo would come out as transfem before or after Splinter's death. I've decided before for the simple reason that I really want Splinter to have a nice moment with her as her daughter yk? I guess I'd have to start off with how Leo realized she was transfem. I'm gonna be honest prior to this ask I hadn't given it much thought so I'll try my best to figure it out here right now!! If my initial headcanon for this changes I'll make an update post on it later.

Leo realizes she's transfem:

I'd imagine the turtles themselves don't really have a strong sense of gender, since not only are they turtles, they've also spent the first 15 years of their life in social isolation in the sewers. The only idea of gender they really percieve stems from Splinter, and from their perspective I imagine they kind of just interpret Splinter as a ninja and nothing else. So I think Leo initially tries her best to mimic Splinter and his behaviors. I think Leo's view on herself completely shifted when they met April, because she was an entirely new person. I think Leo at first didn't think much of it because April was human, but then when they met Casey she didn't feel the same kind of envy YKWIM?? Like Leo took one look at April and was like "idk what that is but I wanna be that." I feel like this internal dialogue came to a climax when she went to visit the tea girl from S1. I headcanon she still visits and they have cute lil tea parties lol. So the little girl says she wants to give Leo a makeover, and at first Leo is like "haha no." I don't know if this is surprising to some people or not, but I feel like Leo would come out to Donnie first. Since the 2012 turtles aren't as in touch with emotions as the ROTTMNT turtles, I think that it would definitely be very awkward, but Leo would try to approach it as scientifically as possible. Which serves a double purpose of not being confusing and also being a little more devoid of emotion. I think Leo would start like "you know how gender is a social construct and etc.." And then after blabbing over her words Donnie would be like "hold on are you trying to tell me you're trans?" And Leo would be like "erm.. Yas? Unless u think it's weird because then no.." I think Donnie would know what trans means bcuz Donnie studies human society and stuff. I don't think he'd know how to respond, but I think he'd def question Leo on it out of curiousity, not malice. So after a thorough interview so Donnie can collect data LMAO Donnie kicks leo out the lab is like "cool thanks sis," and that's the end of it.

I think splinter would tell Leo that back when he first named them, he assumed them all to be boys bcuz he didn't want another daughter at the time since he was still mourning Miwa and didn't want to feel like he was replacing her. Splinter would tell Leo he's honored to have her as a daughter now, and then ask if she wants another name that suits her. Draxum’s lab is pretty dull color wise, and Three wanted to differentiate his tech from Draxum’s. Huginn and Muninn are the ones who buy Three his spray paints! One of those small, nice things they try to do to make the kid a little bit happy. Purple is Three’s favorite color, but sometimes they’re limited in what they can bring him. (Also the pink and blue colors are a nod to Jinx—It’s kinda funny that her colors, pink and blue, when mixed, make purple)

It would be maximum shock if they all met right when Leo and Donnie rejoined the family, before they kinda started their healing process, cause they’re probably the most different at that point.

Rise!Donnie would be appalled at AU!Donnie, from silly things like the way he accumulates layers of grime without a care—to the rude way he treats April. AU!Leo and Rise!Leo would keep a wide birth from each other and probably stick to a buddy system with their respective brothers just in the hopes that they don’t ever get left alone with the other (their bros of course conspire to do exactly that, so they can get to know each other)

Rise!Raph would probably be really worried about AU!Raph just cause he thought his brother’s make him stressed and tired? But between dealing with Leo’s anger issues, and Donnie’s…everything, AU!Raph looks ready to drop any second. AU!Mikey would love Rise!Mikey, cause he’s adorable, but he’s a little sad when he looks at him, cause he acts just like he used to, before he was thrown into the arena, so he tries to tone down the bad and make it sound more exciting so that Rise!Mikey doesn’t know how horrible AU!Mikey had it.

The Kraang would def be the Rise Kraang version. The movie would take place a little while after the defeat the Shredder. I’m still working out the timeline cause when I was first deciding their ages, I forgot about the two years from the end of the series and the start of the movie 🙄. So I’m doing some reworking on that end. I think I’ll either change them to be a few years older at the start of the AU than I made them, OR the AU and the fight with Shredder will go for a longer stretch of time than it did in the series. That way there’s not a huge two year gap of unknown time between Shredder’s defeat to the start of the movie. EDIT Now that we know the series took place over two years and it was only a couple months between the finale and the movie. Their ages are gonna be the ones listed on their character charts!!

I’m still not even sure if I’ll manage to make it that far, but hopefully we will get there eventually! Cause I really wanna get to Casey. In fact, I’d probably make it less about Leo growing into a more serious role (cause obviously he’s already there), and more about him really accepting the love of his family. We might even see a future Leo come back with Casey?? It would be so hard not to go that route cause I love that idea so much 🤣

• He can easily keep you busy for 3 hours a day and never ever complains

• His concerns leave him once he sees that you are actually a good little one.

• So now it is his duty to teach you mischief!

• I think he is the only one who gushes over you right away.

hey!! i actually haven’t written any puppy leon yet lol!! he’s been called puppy a number of times but like literally look at that man. he is doggo. he beloved sweet animal that deserves to be pet and loved!!

i don’t tend to write aftercare scenes but i can def do that!! i’ll do one for reader receiving aftercare and one for leon receiving aftercare, because subs and doms both need it!! <3

reader receiving:

leon gently rests you against the bed, pressing a sweet kiss to your temple as he grabs a towel to wipe off any messy fluids really quickly and grabbing you what wet you need before cuddling obvi!!

“sweetheart, you don’t have to—” you mumble to him, but he shushes you.

“no way, i’m going to take care of you, okay? just relax,” he says back, softly. his voice is always it’s most gentle in these moments, “do you need anything? water? a snack?”

“…could use some water,” you say as you hold onto him arm, which leaves him in a bit of a pickle.

“gonna need you to let go of me if i gotta grab water for you, honey,” he tries to convince you to let him go, laughing endearingly as you shake your head, “no? i can’t go?”

“no…”

“baby, i gotta go, i swear that i’ll be right back,” he pulls himself away before quickly retrieving you a bottle of water. it takes him merely 20 seconds, and it feels agonizing.

when he returns, he leaves it on the nightstand for you, and smiles when you drink it as he cleans you up, “good, glad you’re drinking it. that was exhausting.”

“i know…” you breathe as you put the cap back on the bottle, “you feeling fine?”

“don’t worry about me, sweetie, i just wanna care for you. you do so much for me, and i gotta return the favor,” as he finishes, he curls up in bed next to you, holding you close to him, “wouldn’t trade ya for the world. you’re my everything,” he mumbles softly, pressing his cheek against the crown of your head as he holds you.

“even when i’m being mean to you? i feel like i took it too far today…” you ask, almost insecurely. he takes the opportunity to give reassurance.

“hey, hey, i’m okay. i feel good. i would have told you if you took it too far, but i didn’t. so you’re just gonna have to trust me, okay?” he says, and you nod, “okay, good. besides, i like you when you’re mean,” he laughs.

“oh yeah?” you ask, raising an eyebrow.

“yeah, you’re really hot when you talk down to me.”

reader giving:

“hey, sweetheart… that’s it, nice and easy,” you say to him, touching his face to try and bring his mind back to reality. he’s too deep in subspace to do much right now, but he lets you hold him and whisper sweet things to him to bring him back.

so you keep talking to him like this, “you’re okay, you’re okay. you’re doing wonderful,” your words are absorbed up into him like he’s a sponge, taking in your praise, “you’re so good, baby. you’re doing so well, so proud of you. you think you can talk for me?”

he makes a hum, a sound of acknowledgment.

“can you tell me if you’re okay?” you ask, always feeling the nerves in your stomach even though you’re sure he’s gonna say he’s fine.

“uhh.. ‘m okay…” he mumbles, eyes closed like he’s sleepy, “wanna hold you…”

“okay, my love, whatever you want,” you smile, pressing a kiss to his cheek as you settle neck to him, leaving more kisses on his shoulder, “you’re so pretty,” you comment absentmindedly, your touch nothing more than soft and intimate, but he gets embarrassed easily when he’s like this. stuff that normally just makes him giddy internally leaves him a flustered mess like this.

he’s defenseless to come up with any kind of counterargument or rebuttal. he holds you like he’ll fall apart without you.

i feel like she would call you little pet names, nothing that’s too specific like baby or honey or babe or something super specific to relationships but she def calls you princess or sugar and she always does it by accident, like it even surprises her when she says it

i can also imagine her getting you coffee in the morning on her little morning walks (as mentioned on gayotic) and you want to think that means something but you convince yourself it doesn’t

you guys would be at a party or something like that and some random guy would hit on you, (🤮) and you would be visibly annoyed or disgusted by him (cuz he’s a man, honestly so real) and you would be looking around for anyone to ‘rescue’ from him, he wasn’t doing anything other than talking to you, but julien was watching him this whole time anyway. jealously. so your eyes would pan over the room, you would see jo and naomi and kelli all goofing off in a corner and wouldn’t be able to get any of their attention, then you’d look over to katie and lucy who were also not looking your direction and wouldn’t get see that you clearly needed someone to get him to leave you alone cuz no matter what you said he wouldn’t let up. then you’d look over at phoebe and bo who were also not paying attention to where you were and then you’d see julien who seemed to be burning holes into the back of the guy’s head. she would come over as soon as you looked at her. “hey, you ok?” she would say as she walked over to you, casually placing her hand on your waist. you would respond saying you’re ok or something and then she would try to make a joke “not your type?” i feel like she would try to make you more comfy as he walked away or something by cracking a joke. and that’s when you’d say something like “definitely not, i pretty much only like girls” and she wouldn’t react but like i feel like she would ask what your type is, and you would probably say it just depends.

also, going back to when lucy and pheobe make it obvious, i feel like it would go over your head or you wouldn’t want to think too much of what they’re saying. cuz like if they’re wrong somehow you don’t wanna mess things up with her

"i was thinkin about you." you said softly, avoiding her eyes and trying to not get more embarassed by what you said. realization dawned on her as soon as she heard it. when she didn't say anything right away you panicked and immidiately back pedalled. "'m sorry- i shouldn't have said that. i get it if you d-" you started to ramble and she cut you off with a kiss. you immidiately shut up and didn't stop the kiss, you gently touched her face. she gently broke the kiss a moment later. she stares into your eyes as if she's looking for uncertainty. "i- wow- we should've done that sooner." you said with a soft giggle. she chuckled too. "i should've asked you out." she said softly. you blushed a little and she gently stroked your cheeks with her thumbs.
