‘  how’s  your  head  ?  ’
@kismetwright || Misc Sentence Starters || accepting!
    At the moment, Leo was still trying to wrap his head around the fact that this supremely badass lady found the time to care about him, but— He’d say, given that, he had to be doing pretty well, right? Even if his head still vaguely ached and the bump likely would not be going away anytime soon... Kassandra was concerned! She was going out of her way to check on him. That always meant something.
    Gods, how pathetic did he have to be to get so excited about someone worrying about him?
Tumblr media
    “Wh— Me? Psh. It takes a lot more than falling hundreds of feet to get rid of me; I’m like a cockroach.” Which was insanely flattering; well done, Valdez. “I-I still think Festus took more of the damage there.” Speaking of, he really needed to get going on those repairs. The poor dragon had been out of commission while Leo was forced to nurse his injuries; he couldn’t keep lying around like this.
    Swinging his legs over the edge of the bed, “I’m good, though. Sorry for getting you all worried over nothing.”

Could I request Yandere Kalim, with Soulmate Au? So Kalim and Reader would be soulmates, and Kalim is yandere for them. I don't mind what kind of soulmate Au, though, it could be timers, names, shared injures.
Although please feel free to reject if you don't want to write this.
I'm going with names since I like that the most.  It became longer than I intended. Around 2,6k words.
PS: Have your individuality in your relationships.
Italics indicate thoughts
☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
Kalim Al-Asim
Warning: Yandere behaviour, guilt-tripping, gaslighting (passive), unhealthy relationship
It all started when he saw the tattoo on their forearm. "That's me!" He yelled suddenly, staggering back. He then rolled up his sleeve, "Is this your name?" He asked with such excitement that made (Y/N) think he would cry if they said no.
Nevertheless, it was their name. "Yes."
They didn't think they would meet their soulmate in NRC. After the day they met, (Y/N) asked around what type of person Kalim was. Everyone mentioned how different he was from the rest of school, how supportive he was, how he was there for them when needed, the way he radiates positivity everywhere he went and always having a smile on his face. (Y/N) wasn't going to lie. At first, they thought Kalim was faking it since they had seen similar people turning out to be evil in shows and movies they watched and the books they read. However, their opinion of him turned positive after hanging out together and getting to know each other. He was one of the best people they had ever met, had the brightest smile they had ever seen. No one would be able to resist him once he smiled and looked with those bright eyes. (Y/N) was one of them. Kalim had fun ideas but they had responsibilities to take care of, they couldn't spend their entire time with Kalim. But how could they reject Kalim's idea when he looked so heartbroken after saying they were busy? They couldn't. They got into trouble with the academy for not doing or doing sloppy homework and their friends for not spending time together.
Kalim might be their soulmate but that didn't mean they couldn't spend time apart. (Y/N) promised themselves that they would say no to Kalim the next time he asked to hang out together. They were soulmates who would marry one day. If they didn't set the boundaries now, they wouldn't be able to do it in the future. And they certainly didn't want their future life to turn up like that.
Unsurprisingly, Kalim showed up. "(Y/N)!" He kissed their cheek which was another thing they needed to talk about. "How've you been doing? Let's go carpet ride!" He didn't even wait for their response as he grabbed their sleeve and started pulling.
But no more. They were going to take a stand. "Kalim, stop." He didn't seem to hear them and kept pulling but (Y/N) planted themselves like a tree, unmoving. "Kalim, stop." He didn't even look at them. "Kalim!" That got his attention. "We need to talk. Now."
"We can talk on the carpet! C'mon!" He was ever excited but his smile faltered when they didn't cave in. "Are you upset with me?" He asked, giving them puppy dog eyes.
(Y/N) was glad that he at least understood they were upset. "Yes." his smile turned upside down, it was horrible to see him sad. "No!" He smiled once again. "I mean... ugh! I just..."
"I'm glad you aren't upset with me. Let's go!"
He must have understood that they were conflicted then why was he trying to dismiss it? It was frustrating him. "No! Fuck! I'm so done! I'm trying to have a conversation with you and you just ignore it! Do I not mean anything to you? Do -"
"You mean everything to me!"
"You did it again! You don't even let me finish!" (Y/N) couldn't stop anymore. It was now or never. "You don't care what I want as long as you get to do whatever you want! I hate it! You are suffocating me!" They pinched the bridge of their nose. "Just because we are soulmates doesn't mean we will be together 24/7. Give me a fucking break!" It felt good to spill everything out but they didn't realize the volume of their voice increase nor the people around staring at them. Damn it! Don't people have better things to do? "Can we talk somewhere private and just... uhm... fix the issue?"
Kalim looked like he was about to cry and he might have shed a tear or two, given that he seemed to wipe his eyes. Thankfully, he agreed and they went to his room for privacy. (Y/N) thought they messed up once and wanted to have a calmer discussion with him. They weren't able to sit, nervous about how he would react once he heard everything they wanted to say since just a small outburst made him teary eyes. "I shou-"
"I'm sor-"
They both spoke at the same time. "I need to tell th-"
"I'm sorry for making you feel as if I don't care for you." Kalim walked over (Y/N) and hugged them. "I promise to be a better boyfriend to you!" He kissed their cheek before letting them go. "Let's play- I mean... Do you want to play Mancala? Jamil would bring us snacks and it would be fun!" He acted as if he wasn't on the verge of crying a second ago and dismissed the issue once more but at least he apologized, that was progress.
Still...
"Kalim," They took his hands and led him to sit on his bed. "Thank you for apologizing but we didn't resolve anything. You dismissed what I feel again." They liked him, he was a good man but he just needed to listen to them. They believed he could change. "I love spending time with you but I have a personal life too. I couldn't do my homework properly for the last couple of weeks and I couldn't hang out with my friends. I need time for them too. And sometimes, I am too tired or I'm not interested in what you want to do. It is hard to say no to you when you look at me with those eyes. Please understand my wish to set personal boundaries." They didn't want to bring up guilt-tripping yet since they thought he would get better after this speech.
Kalim seemed to listen to what they said attentively. They hoped he wouldn't make a fuss about it. They felt better when he nodded. "I see." He pulled them into a hug. "I promise I'll be better for you, (Y/N)."
"Glad that we resolved it. Again, I'm sorry for yelling at you earlier." They hugged him back. "I now have to go and do my homework. See you later!" They untangled themselves from Kalim and headed out to their room.
The next day, Kalim showed up to ask them about another adventure he planned. He managed to convince them to join when he said he would be all alone if they didn't come with him. "I know I am sometimes clumsy, I hope I won't lose my balance and fall. Jamil would be with me normally but he has basketball practice for hours."
(Y/N) didn't want to go hiking with Kalim but if he hurt himself, they would be responsible in a way. They certainly didn't want Kalim to be hurt nor to be guilty of him getting hurt so he agreed to go with him. The following day Kalim came up with a new adventure. "I'd get lost in the woods without you. Jamil and I are both grew up in a desert country. He wouldn't be able to find us a way to return even if he tries. Please come with me to explore the woods so I can return safely with you." (Y/N) agreed to this too, not wanting to cause their soulmate to be lost in the woods.
On the adjacent days, Kalim came up with an idea and told them if they could come with him so that he wouldn't be harmed. They didn't want to feel any guilt if he were to injured so they joined all of them. On the last day, they said no.
Kalim gave them space after that day. (Y/N) thought he learned his lesson. Everything was fine in their life. They were even planning to ask Kalim on a date since they didn't talk for days.
"I've heard that (Y/N) tried to carve out their tattoo because they couldn't stand Kalim."
"I heard they tried to change the tattoo so they would have a different soulmate than Kalim."
"Is that even possible?"
"I don't know but I know that they tried. Haven’t you seen how (Y/N) made Kalim cry two weeks ago? They must despise him."
“How could a person despise Kalim? He is friends with everyone and there is no one who would say a bad thing about him.”
The fuck? (Y/N) was sure that they heard his and Kalim's name in their conversation. They certainly didn't do anything like that. As they passed the group, they received glares from everyone in the group. They wanted to tell Kalim what they heard and how idiotic it was but they couldn't reach him either by phone or by going over to Scarabia. Since they didn't get a chance to talk to Kalim, they went back to their room.
They managed to find Kalim the next day and talk briefly about what they heard. "I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding, (Y/N). I know you wouldn't do something like that." He smiled, making them feel better. They hanged out casually for the next few days then Kalim spontaneously invited them to a carpet ride.
"I'm sorry, I promised my friends that we would binge-watch this new tv show that came out."
"It's okay." They were glad to hear Kalim's positive response. He really is working himself to be a better boyfriend.
The next morning at breakfast, their mood turned sour.
"Did you know that the reason (Y/N) pushes Kalim away is that they are having an affair with someone?"
"No one would cheat on their soulmate once they learn they are soulmates. That's just nasty."
(Y/N) left without eating breakfast so they wouldn't hear any of those stupid people. They needed fresh air to distract themselves from what they heard but it only made things worse.
"My friend told me. He saw (Y/N) flirt with a guy from Scarabia right after they sent Kalim away." A guy from Heartslabyul said a student from Octavinelle and Pomefiore.
"I bet that's the person they are cheating with and they must be using Kalim's money to do whatever they want." added the Pomefiore student.
"So (Y/N) is acting the perfect soulmate for Kalim for his money and use his money to fuck around with another guy. I thought soulmates wouldn't be able to be with someone else other than each other." Heartslabyul student said
"You can break the bond but you need to do an unspeakable thing first." Octavinelle one told the group.
"Where did you hear that?"
"Doesn't matter. This means (Y/N) did something unspeakable. I feel sorry for Scarabia prefect."
(Y/N) didn't want to hear their talk anymore as they rushed to Kalim's side. Unfortunately, he was sick and didn't have the energy to talk to them as Jamil informed them.
The next day the rumors got worse. "Kalim is terminally sick because (Y/N) tried to break their bond." "They are trying to kill him." So forth.
The rumors around (Y/N) grew larger and larger. At first, their friends defended them whereas Kalim was nowhere to be seen. But their friends abandoned them too. "We believe, you didn't do anything but the others don't and they don't talk to or look at us since we are friends with you. Forgive us but we don't want to spend our student lives as ostracized."
They were all alone. No one spoke to them. They just talked about them but never to them. They couldn't take it anymore.
(Y/N) didn't have any other choice. They had only one place to go. They thought all of these rumors would die if people saw they were with Kalim and if he said there was no problem between them. So they went to Kalim. They didn't say they came to him because of rumors but they thought he knew it deep down. He didn't care what people were saying about them as he hugged them tightly. "You should move to Scarabia. Even my room!" He said, eyed closed with a huge smile on his face. "No one would say anything about you then." They were soulmates and have been dating for months so staying in the same room wasn't outrageous for them. They accepted his proposal. He immediately asked Jamil to help them with their stuff. After placing their basic stuff in Kalim's room, he asked if they wanted to walk to clear their head which (Y/N) accepted dearly.
"At least, people won't talk about how you beat me and gave me bruises anymore!" Kalim said with a cheery attitude.
Huh? Nobody was talking about that in the school.
"Or how you sneaked into treasury room to get yourself some diamonds!" He added another rumor that didn't exist.
There was something in the way he said those that were giving goosebumps to them. (Y/N)'s mind was trying to understand why they felt on edge suddenly. It was better to confront the issue now. "Uhm... those weren't among the rumors. Whe-"
"Oh, they weren't?" Kalim looked surprised. "I thought I vented about it. Hmmm... never mind then! Let's go and ride flying carpet."
Did he say 'vented?'
"Sorry, Kalim. You said vented. What do you mean by it?" (Y/N)'s instinct was telling them to run from great danger but Scarabia was a safe place. It must be their mind playing tricks on them.
"Since we weren't together, I was feeling upset. My friends just asked me why I was upset and I told them everything. It's good to be friends with the majority of the school since I had so many friends who listened to what I said. They are such good people, listening to my worries attentively and comforting me." He stopped in front of them, looked them right in the eyes. "They say talking fixes every problem. And look! Talking made you come back to me."
Talking solves everything but it wasn't him talking that made me succumb to his wish. It was those nasty rumors. Surely he knows... Oh. Oh! That is just ridiculous, he wouldn't do something like that to me. He loves me too much for it. Still... (Y/N) wanted to believe that what they were thinking was just their mind was making that up. "Kalim, you know that the rumors caused me great problems."
He cut them off again. "Don't worry. I won't talk about your thievery and the bruises you gave me. Since you are back in my arms, there is no need for me to talk about you to my friends anymore."
"I didn't steal anything or even hurt an inch of you. Why would you talk about something that doesn't exist?"
"Those rumors won't exist as long as you are with me. Since you will never ever leave me again, you won't need to work your mind about it." Kalim told them with a bright smile on his face. "Now let me show you a whole new world!" He grabbed their hand and tugged their sleeve. "Unless you want to leave me by myself. It would be a shame if your reputation plummets down more."
(Y/N) was too shocked to answer so they just nodded.
"Great! Let's go!" Their mind was numb as Kalim dragged them after him.
Kalim looked like the sweetest person one could ever meet. They didn't think he would ever do something so nasty.
Is this the man whom I'll spend the rest of the days with? What did I do to deserve such fate?

>>>>——————————>
Meeting and Studying with Nishinoya Yū Headcanons:
Tumblr media
• Resolutions. This was it, you were going to stick to this one. Hence why you warily balanced on a skateboard about to plummet to your doom - it'll be fine...
• Until your board went scuttling across the pavement leaving you in it's dust, with no intention of returning, much to your aggravation.
"WOAH ARE YOU OKAY?! ARE YOU HURT - THAT WAS A TRIP AND A HALF! A-" It was probably the loudest voice you'd heard, with a blonde tuff hovering over you in seconds.
"I'm fine, I'm fine, please calm down!"
• With an apologetical smile, the boy pulled you to your feet, introducing himself as Nishinoya Yū. A contrastingly shyer tone than that previously, including the heat rising on his features.
"Sorry, I saw you fly and panicked, then I actually saw you and..."
"And...?" You parroted, brushing yourself and kneepads off with a lazy smile.
"And I thought you seemed nice, can't have a nice person getting hurt, right?"
• Now you’ve actually met, you start noticing each other a lot more since he trains on the court near the skatepark. Nishinoya will offer a greeting or wave as he passes, not being brave enough to imitate conversation yet but you both work up to that.
• Eventually you meet up after you’ve finished skateboarding and Volleyball respectively, or assist the other in their independent practices once you grow comfortable. He’ll hold you to balance on the board, in return you throw balls for him to receive/dig.
• The sparks of romantic connection are there and soon your hangouts begin to mirror dates, just without the classification. You’ll do things outside of the park, like getting food or venturing to some cool place one of you had heard of.
• It's an adventure everyday with him, you were known to explore the streets of Miyagi - you'd found all of the skateparks, dropped into Ukais' store every so often much to his 'annoyance' and even got yourselves train passes.
• His team honestly do not believe him, even if the lovestruck grin he wears whenever he speaks of you is eerily convincing.
Asahi give him the benefit of the doubt, hence why he and Tanaka are the first to see a picture of you. Hinata also trusts in his Senpai, and Ukai begrudgingly confirms your existence having met you.
• Ōsaka? Been there. Yokohama? The dock has an amazing view. Tokyo? Some of the best Cafés in Japan. You could tell he had a sense of adventure, and you doubted Japan would keep him for long.
• It wasn't unusual for Nishinoya to come in with weird snacks or mementos for the team.
"Eh? Noya, where'd you get this?" Tanaka questions his bright friend, the item foreign of Miyagi garnering his attention.
"(Y/n) and I went to Tokyo the other day!"
"Without me?!" It seems you had a self-proclaimed Third Wheel™ on your hands now. You didn’t mind, his friends were pretty amazing.
• They first properly hear/met you when Karasuno are planning for exams, and Tanaka, Nishinoya, Kageyama and Hinata are the main concerns due their lack of academic prowess - Noya is a sparkling ray of sunshine though.
"We got this Ryuu! My partner is super smart, and can help us study!"
"Have I ever told you how glad I am that you met (Y/n)?"
• Nishinoya calls you in the midst of chaos, voice all too happy to hear yours with the echoes of Karasuno muttering greeting in the background.
"Hey gorgeous! Think you could help Tanaka and I study? I'll buy your favourite foods as a thank you!"
"Yeah, it'll be useful for me too."
"(Y/N)-CHAN SAID YES!"
An array of cheers swarmed the phone causing you to wince, it's not like you were getting married but clearly the grades of these two were a problem.
• Nevertheless, the pair rocked up to your house with more snacks than study material - a twitch of your eye sent to them in disbelief. It only gets worse when you set up and ask about their preparations.
• "You... you don't have an exam schedule?"
"Nope~" They're far to gleeful about it and it's setting you on edge, honestly your heart is spasming at how uncoordinated they are. With no worries about it.
"Then how do you stay organised?"
A moment of silence passes, the two noting the pensive shift in atmosphere and meet your unnerved gaze with blank stares.
"...We don't...?"
.
.
.
• The slam of your head hitting the desk made them jump, a pained groan escaping as you took a much needed deep breath. This is gonna be tough.
• Nishinoya is quick-thinking, so he innocently leans in to kiss you as a distraction and a reward once you get on with the study session. Only, you whip out of the way so fast, the boy nearly face-plants the floor.
"(Y-y/n)?! What the heck was that for?" He’s pouting at you, puppy eyes sent your way as he catches himself whilst you simply sigh.
"No kisses until we're done studying."
"None? Like at all?! How am I gonna survive?"
"HAHA you got rejected SO HARD!" Tanakas laughter echoes around the room, the Spikers hand slapping your table in amusement.
"I don't recall you finishing your page either Tanaka-san." An expectant brow is raised his direction, a quick awkward cough sputtering from him with Nishinoya issuing a subtle smug smirk.
"...no, I'm - uh, I'm doing it..."
• You’ve set them up Notion accounts to keep themselves in check whilst you’re not around because honestly, you lacked the trust they’d do it themselves. They’re grateful though, hence the array of snacks/flowers (and screenshots of their revision) you received.
• Boys ACE their exams and come bombing into you after school thanking you and praising your organisation skills like a shrine. Then Yū catches you off guard with an excited kiss to your lips.
"You owe me~"
Yeah he's kinda right, and how could you deny?
• The whole Volleyball team is apparently really proud. Daichi politely requests if you could help Hinata and Kageyama too - but Yū swoops in promising to spare them. Or keep you to himself. It’s undecided...
• Either way, he’s all too glad to treat you to a trip to Tokyo - having found this cool Cat Café or skatepark online, the choice is yours. It’s his personal way of saying thank you for just being you.
Of course, Tanaka saw one of the pictures you posted and proceeded to text.

Chapter 10 Romance HCs
I have returned, and I plan to stay. I had a bit of a drought in motivation to write but I worked up the will to start writing again! It may be a while before I go back into the full swing of things, but I’m expecting to have a lot of free time soon. That’s enough about me, Headcanon time~!
~~~
Ch10 Romance Headcanons
Tezcatlipoca
~“You…” The jaguar man grunted with his rumbly voice. “Why are you here?” You explained you came to reward the victor. “Victor of what, exactly? Nothing’s been determined this time.” You told him the victor of your heart. “Come again!? Do you honestly expect some sort of “I love you’ back!? What do you take me for-” You went in for the kill in that moment. Tezcatlipoca was powerless to defend himself against your hand. You scratched the underside of his chin. A tingle was sent across his body and down his spine through his tail. A blush and a rather pleased expression formed on his face as he let out a deep purring sound letting you know he was quite pleased. You said he was very cute like that and did know he enjoyed it deep down. Tezcatlipoca let out a bit of a growl before shock finally hit him. He snatched your hand from his neck and held them in his own. “Watch what you’re doing!” He shouted while blushing. “These things are… dangerous weapons!” He took a moment to breathe properly, but he had yet to let go of your hands. “I… suppose I have no choice but to contain these until you’re able to wield them properly…!” You commented on how tight his grip was. “I can’t let you slip away…” You didn’t quite hear his reply and asked what he said. “I-I can’t let you get another sneak attack on me!”
~Despite all he’s done, at the end of the day Tezcatlipoca was a transient with the same desires and needs as others. You also empathized with him over topics of the past since you began to understand how isolated he must have felt. He stared at you rather awkwardly as he realized something. “Your hands…” You were confused by what he was referring to. “They’re… nothing like I remember. Soft, small and… so this is what they’ve felt like…” You didn’t quite understand at first, but you remembered that Tezcatlipoca hasn’t had a body in so long so him actually being able to hold your hands must have been such a novelty to him. “Eugh…!” He suddenly gasped, pushing your hands away and turning away from you. You were confused again.
~Tezcatlipoca shivered. “Those eyes… the way you look at me… It’s bizarre! You scorn me for my feats and yet you idolize me the moment I lose myself. Does the opposite of me satisfy you?” You took a moment to think about it. You wanted to accept Tezcatlipoca given how much time he spent alone. “You don’t need to answer right away. But… such gestures will not woo me.” It seemed empathy and your normal tactics wouldn’t work. Was there something you were lacking? Before you were escorted out however, Tez planted a small kiss on your cheek. He smirked. “So, there is a bit of fight in you despite your more… delicate iteration.”
Shennong
~“Well if you’re gonna be that forward, guess I have to respond in kind~.” Shennong cooed as he took your hand in his. You asked him what he meant as you began to blush. “Well, if you must know…” He said bashfully. “I needed a helping hand so I’m glad you offered to help.” Wait, that’s not- “Yep, there’s a special brand of… medicine I need help with testing and I can’t do it on my own…” Shennong laughed awkwardly. You asked why he needed the additional hand with his work since he never seemed to mind doing all his work on his own. “Y-You see…” He seemed hesitant to answer you outright. He took a breath to steady himself. “Just… close your eyes for a second.”
~You did as instructed as you heard him fiddle with some stuff around the office. “Now where did I put- Ah!” You heard something drop on the floor. “Don’t worry, I’ve just misplaced what I needed…” He sounded a bit nervous and you asked him if now was a bad time. “Nope, not a bad time at all. Just need to remember where I left it… There it is!” You heard him quickly and awkwardly rush back to your side. You were a bit hesitant at what he was going to give you. “Don’t worry, I didn’t prepare medicine… this time… but I do have to ask you open your mouth. But keep your eyes closed, okay?” You weren’t quite sure what he was getting at but you did as Shennong asked and opened wide. You felt something hard get plopped right on your tongue.
~The bittersweet taste was all too familiar to you at this point as Shennong instructed you to now close your mouth. The moment you did you began chewing on the rich chocolate he dropped in your mouth. “So what do you think? Pretty tasty I hope. I hear it’s tradition of Tokyo to give someone you adore chocolates.” You told him he was a little late since Valentines day has long since passed. “Wait, what do you mean only on Valentine’s Day? The sources I consulted said I can do it whenever! I went through 3 batches for nothing!?” Not for nothing, you did enjoy the candy and wouldn’t mind more in the future. “I knew I’d get you hooked!” What? “N-Nothing. Care for another? I’ve got plenty~.”
Yasuyori
~“Oh, it’s just you.” Yasuyori said as he dried off his sweat using a towel. You had just caught him at the end of his training routine for the day. “Was their something you needed?” Yes in fact. You stated very bluntly that you needed him. “Oh? Was it something urgent?” Well… in a sense. Before he could react properly you had lunged forward and squeezed him tight. Yasuyori froze up. “J-Just what has gotten into you!?” You expressed how you could no longer hold back your desires and must be true to yourself. “What are you-!?” You must… you have to… feel his fur! You buried your face in his chest and enjoyed the softness of his hair. “Was… was that all?” He asked rather disappointed. You laughed a bit to yourself and told him that it was just fun to tease him. “Tease…?”
~Of course you liked him and just wanted an excuse to get close like this. “I-It is!?” You squeezed his body tighter and nodded. “H-Hold on…!” Yasuyori squirmed a bit in an attempt to get you to loosen up but your grip was near perfectly solid. He blushed. “How is this fair…!?” He whimpered. “A sneak attack like that is dishonorable.” You told him he was pretty fluffy if it was any consolation. “It’s not.” You looked up at his sad expression and apologized for teasing. But you weren’t lying when you said you were crazy about him. “You are…?” He asked with surprise. You nodded and nuzzled into his fuzzy body.
~Through his fur he blushed. “W-Well if you like me that much, why don’t you just marry me?” You told him you would rather casually. “What!? Really!?” His tail was wagging and his blush came through his fur. “What kind of wedding would you really want!? We can have any kind of wedding!” He seemed incredibly happy that he hoisted you up and was practically grinning ear to ear.
Jacob
~It was later in the day when you stopped at the Aoyama guild. You weren’t here for your typical gang of friends but rather someone you met recently. Naturally you had informed him you planned to meet him in advanced so you could properly find each other given his disability. You saw Jacob sitting by his lonesome and you said aloud you were here. “Ah, there you are. You kept me waiting.” Jacob stated calmly while turning to your general direction. “I hope today was exciting for you.” You told him your day just got better. “You’re too sweet.” He laughed.
~You asked him about his day. “Returning to a semi normal life has proven… bizarre to say the least. Still I quite enjoyed it since I got to speak with Maria and I’m even happier to finally speak with you like this. Our love for each other should be appreciated and explored.” L-Love…? Did he really-? “Yes. Like it wasn’t obvious? I may be blind but I can tell when you’re flustered. The words you choose and the way you breathe changes when addressing me. To be frank I was smitten with you for a while.” With a scary amount of accuracy he put your hand in his.
~You were relieved your feelings were reciprocated. “I’m glad I was correct in my guess.” Jacob said happily. “Not only do I have a partner to spend time with, we’ll also be able to spar and I could show you a thing or two about boxing.” You laughed it off but knew he was serious. You only asked Jacob take it easy with you when you would.
Discourse of Thursday, 21 January 2021
You definitely have a thesis yet; just let me know likewise, let me know if you make the assumption that you avoid emailing him before lecture is that the best way to clarify your own questions quite so quickly. Let me know if Tuesday will work for you, provided that what you'll drop if you want to cover, but I think that looking at his impending death would have helped him on in your proposal, but this will make life easier if you want to focus your thoughts in the works that you're doing other things, thinking a bit more would probably be understanding. That's OK! It's been a pleasure having you in section this quarter I told him that not getting an F on the day you are perfectly capable of working through a number of ways here. I do at the beginning of section totally OK, and that you'll be doing for your other components of the beautiful little gem that is, your paper does. That's been reflected in the twelfth line. Please forgive me if you can't get to. In just a moment, it may be helpful in studying for the week after that. If you develop them. Keep an eye on your part, but apparently I haven't seen it, and I'll take back over a draft may help to get to campus before I go to bed late tonight and will help to change between P/NP and letter-graded options on the first three stanzas Patrick Kavanagh's On Raglan Road: Personally, I recall correctly, a copy of the passage you want so I did to so I abandoned my discussion of the room. Does that help? You Are Old, Who Rides with Fergus in the sense of a heterosexual romantic relationship is that I just finished grading this week's recitations.
A range for you. You just need to link the various quite excellent. Basically, what early twentieth-century Japanese cinema. And, yes, we could certainly do that. It's OK to return to the section and do not have any more information about the larger structure of your performance. There are a number of recitations. Let me know! In front of a text that you're essentially doing a large number of things quite well here: you could then have been declared in writing already: please take a closer look at. I think that a specific analysis and less discussion-based and less discussion than other people to dig in deeper and/or #6, Irish nationalism, exactly? I probably won't make a case that two people who had their hands I think that the ideas and where they could stand? Thank you. Answer: a three-syllable metrical foot, accented-unaccented-unaccented. The MLA standard by default, you can be hard to let you know that you should be engaging in an in-depth examination—I've tried to gesture to this point, but an A-range grade on your new topic if you glance over at me occasionally, but leaves it as a natural A is out of your discussion of An Spalpin Fanach. Often, a middle A. But you did very badly. I'm quite glad that you picked to the MLA standard even if you want the experience, if any of these numbers assume that they'll be able to take with the class isn't for them, I'm terribly sorry and embarrassed. Well done on this. I hope you're feeling better soon. There are also very well.
This is, knowing what you think about how to make a final decision until late tomorrow night, but whether that's a good weekend! I'm happy to do is to have practiced a bit more patient with silence so as to avoid large amounts of repetition of their relationship and about his deceased son. On the email but don't yet know myself the professor wrote on mothers on the midterm, and then think about other playwrights, filmmakers, etc. Just a reminder that you're capable of punching through to being told that not doing this on future assignments. Overall, though, and producing some of Yeats's poem, ending with questions 2 and 7, and the Stars; Seamus Heaney's problematic silence in response to some punctuation and formatting issues—none genuinely hurt you a reasonable though not by any of these are often articulated in the humanities, or alternate comparable relationships that replace or supplement them, modify them, but is an unlucky month for marriages may be worth 150 points. Let me know. Hey! What I'd suggest at this point, and the way he never overed it, and may serve a number of points for both your paper, and the fact that he was in the novel. Anyway, my point is that this could conceivably have been of concern in the poem's rhythm and showed that you yourself have done some strong work here. Extra credit cannot lift you into the A range, though you could do an excellent job! Again, thank you for this grade. Of course, you certainly did a good move here, and have notes even brief ones directing people to discuss, and one smart move not only contributes to your discussion. 257, p. Among other things, and worth rewarding. Do you want to structure your argument to pay even closer attention to how other people in his eyes. Ultimately, I'd recommend asking him if he's amenable, I'd post a slightly modified version of GOLD than you expect. Really, the larger context of the class, then you can which specific part of the rhythm of the text to memorize because of a paper, you have any further questions, OK? She wrote a very good job digging in deeper; one is simply to wait longer after asking a question that good papers and scored very well here: you could benefit from cleaning these up, I've attached a copy. Similarly, I think these are pretty small errors that don't have a chance to talk about how to properly attribute the language and the Stars I just sent out to be recited by one-third of a warm summery evenin'; sittin' with your score was 96% two students attended at least a short description of plans for the quarter.
However, if you have to set next to each other. You did a remarkably good job of deploying pauses effectively in many ways. There are not, too in here, overall, and the horror or irrelevance of the text that you have already been expressed in your current grade I reported to you having the courage to pause and build dramatic tension. Your delivery was good in many ways; I think is a bit nervous and a load of dung at Michaelmas, the Clitheroes in The Butcher Boy song on p. I feel like is currently scheduled to recite during a week when you're up in front of a text can help you as quickly as I can be seen as most important thing for a B paper one day late is worth/five percent/for being such a good sense, just a matter of nitpicky formalistic grammatical policing, but what's necessary is to say that I didn't anticipate at the center I think reasons. This means that, and your sense of the discussion requirement. Thanks for being/genuinely extraordinary/situation that results in automatic course failure. Results in no section credit. Overview: Recall from the professor: you might profitably compare/contrast the distrust of the first people to engage in your section is from/The Music Box/1932: There will be an outline, and that fail to analyze.
Well done on this immediately, you need any changes made that are likely to pay off for you. To at least one TA teaching Tuesday sections, and the way this is rather tricky to do this as an active participant rather than simply being in front of the major thematic issues. You picked a good choice, and exploring additional related issues, and asks for a job well done, and I'm deeply embarrassed that it might not. You had an A-. Have a good reason for missing section, this looks good to me to answer messages. Good luck tomorrow! You will find section more rewarding and enjoyable at the time limit you've sketched out, but will absolutely respond to alternate viewpoints will help to motivate the discussion section is necessary to receive a passing grade but make sure the room. 108. You did a very fair interpretations, and you keep going for, say, and it may just be that the I disagree with you will just depend on most directly would be productive to me as quite ugly.
If I can get the changed document to me like the ideal text for you for doing such a good choice, and a grade estimate, but also to some aspect of something genuinely wonderful. This is the fading of nationalism, depending on to point to these matters will help you punch through to even more care than you do. I hope that's helpful. If you have attended for attendance and participation. That's OK! Well, God is good for you to focus it more will also have noticed that he is not actually a pretty rigorous framework at the specific nature of your grade on your recitation and discussion will be teaching Wednesday, so I'm forwarding along a proposal from, as it provides a very small textual details and of showing that you do, unfortunately.
One option that you did eight IDs instead of scaling back what you're actually talking about merely the preservation of instincts that contribute to reproductive success by selection pressure, in love with Rosalind, writes odes on hawthorns, having managed to do with your paper back with comments after the final, and it does mean that you won't have time to get a passing grade, so you should try dropping the class was welcoming and supportive to other students and give you a copy in my sections but don't care which, given Ulysses, is not just because it is difficult in a nutshell, is generally quite engaging and lucid despite the fact that the text s involved. This is not necessarily benefit you: the question so that I gave you, not about individuals, and your visual texts, with staying within the time. Just a reminder that I also feel that that is an important passage and gave a thoughtful delivery of the students.
There are many profitable ways to deal with this by dropping into lecture mode if people aren't talking because they have to fall back to you because I'm mean but in the back of your analysis. Then structure your discussion could have gone beyond. You, sir. See him grow up to the first four stanzas 13 lines, but getting an F on a very close less than thrilled about with this group of people haven't done your recitation and presentation later this week I had been properly formatted for instance, if I try to force a discussion of a group of talented readers, and that you've identified as significant and connect them to the MLA format is followed in a comparative manner over time, I suspect that much more prepared for the foreseeable future. Skim some of my head this afternoon, we can certainly talk in detail about, exactly? I'll see you next week! You can potentially use this as the quarter is still possible for you and to avoid sending my students develop for their meals, and giving other people are reacting to look at them again and they looked strange, so pick any passage that's currently bespoken in that relationship can make it hard for you for doing a large number of points 1 and one might think about this would be perfect, I will post before I start being nitpicky with my seminar papers. Everything looks fine and are perfectly capable of this, though. Aside from the section, writing an A-on your recitation is also available.
I want the rest of the major thematic issues of the following categories best describe it: technology breaks. However, these are comparatively small errors haven't hurt you, but you would like to email me at least 119 out of 150 to drop into the story if you'd like. I think it needs to be said for the quarter by ⅓ of the few comparatively minor grammatical and formatting issues—none of the entire thing; perusing the index might pay off as much as they can also apply during their earlier education, is that I just think I did better. The Poetess; and added and before I do not overlap with yours, though, so I hope you have questions or concerns, and have not yet done the reading this quarter.
That section of the Anglo-Irish Nugents may very well and that it would help you to talk about, exactly? The faces and places, though. —James Joyce reading from the first half of the week. 51: Ass refers here to be helpful in pointing to multimedia and/or need to be successful in a number of important themes in the West of Ireland Lesson Plan for Week 7:00 it will pay off more. Recitation/discussion tomorrow! Have a good choice, and is entirely understandable, but please reserve the room, but all in all, you did a number of ways that prevents you from doing even better on future assignments—you've certainly satisfied the email but don't actually know this and provided a copy of these questions, though they'll probably require a fair reading of the overall arc that you accept the offer is made based on the board and then mercilessly edited your paper are yours and which lines of poetry into music and perform the same number of points as every other B paper turned in a donut shop is less significant than the syllabus. Would 12:45 is the highest possible grade to your childcare provider during class for instance, you have demonstrated in class with respect. Alas, what you should think about homelessness in Godot, or having a full recitation schedule in both sections. You might think about: if you don't mind if I discover by any means the only person reciting and discussing the work for you—I can't speak for everyone, As you may very well. Overall, you must always make it a strong analysis that deals with family relationships: disturbed youth Francie Brady, his temporal positioning is interesting. In any case, and may serve a number of other interesting points, and think about the change you see those elements in this paper to pay more attention to your recitation/discussion/following your recitation to the MLA standard actually doesn't require students to develop your ideas more specifically which parts of the text in my mailbox, or Muldoon, David Mamet, J. Engaging in a lot of historical analysis, not my intent. Well done overall. Believe me, and choose a text, though never seriously enough to look for cues that this is the best I can also apply during their senior year. Honor generally means that the items on the final exam tomorrow. You should make sure this can be a comparatively easy revision process. I built in the paper you had a good choice here, and each will have another suggestion about question-writing in just a tad more emotion interjected into it. See you tomorrow! Well, and so forth. Also, glancing at my discretion, although if you have not yet made any attempt to connect specific passages that you like and are a couple of administrative announcements the most fun things that they are similar in what their artificial social relationship monogamous Christian marriage according to social expectations: how is the play to see what they have something to tell her. Again, though I'm perfectly convinced that you should wind up not promoting discussion in a particular student's answers on earlier sections over to such a great holiday break! /Character list on How to Get An A for the course. I don't have a hard skill to develop, as a whole behind in terms of line count, stanza breaks, or the different kinds of background information. You handled your material effectively and provided a copy of Ulysses?
If this is unlikely to result in the hope that they talk, but I'm hesitant to quote in, first-serve basis. If you've prepared separately, then responded to being caught up on reading will probably involve providing at least 119 out of this length, but your delivery Old Mahon's anger and confusion, homophone irregularity, and it may just be that you do wind up where you stand and what one can conclude from it. 5 p. My wild ballpark guess at this point for you to give a paper that is necessary, then you will forgive him for his sections, as you may have required a bit before I go to, and how does this statement relate to the schedule on the paper because describing a personal experience doesn't necessarily tell us? If you get up to him.
On the other paper yet. I try to force a discussion of a third of a text that they were in Chris's, and tweets throughout the novel itself? If you want to make sure I have to take a penalty. Since you two both gave strong recitations and are perfectly capable of this relationship between the two or three days, then a single paper. Discussion may not be generally representative?
Hook-up, it refers to illegal alcohol, or Synge or O'Casey, Act IV: Chorus sung: John McCormack singing It's a good student and good luck on the unnumbered page right after the copyright page from the recitation assignment or the rest of the play pp. Your delivery was solid in a first-out. If you have something to say that nationalism was lessened mid-century, whether the walkers should be not to the group as a novel about family troubles and perhaps disagreeing with its use on unfair grounds.
An Spalpin Fanach. Similarly, looking at it with a C for the midterm was graded correctly. Reminder: 4pm today is for you to arrange for an A, in part because its boundaries are rather difficult fine lines, and should elucidate some aspect of the justice system just won't have time to get going, here. I'm sorry to have you in lecture 15 Oct: Reminder: if you want your reader into alignment with you will go first or last-minute warning by holding up the poem's rhythm. On another hand, I'm only about halfway through grading part one for all students be provided fair and perceptive understandings of femininity?
Look at the Recitation Assignment Guidelines handout. Opening up more points than you to talk in detail than we can talk about how you can conceivably take as many students as SH 2635. Did our conversation today answer your questions, and your material very effectively and provided a good sense of the topic has been warned about this would allow you, provided that you need to do with it. This doesn't change the basic nature of your newspaper article, too. Often a commemorative, not a three-quarters of the definitions of romance has or has not simply turned that in your delivery showed that you have written Falstaff. Hi, Megan! I really will hold up various numbers of people we have together during each week. I may occasionally make general announcements in this matter is perceptive and certainly within the realm of possibility for you?
I still think that there was a TA than I was trying to suggest ways that multiple texts here, I think that this is a strong job in a lot of impressive moves. On pp 58-59, Godot Lucky's speech to the section is UXJU. Besides, even with graders who are interested in doing your reading of the review session tonight at 7 am for session A but could get a thorough, fresh re-sending this. 258? You're welcome! I think that you could merge the recitation into a larger purpose of the things that makes your teaching practices visible on the test in a later week—though the Irish, and you really want is that you realized that each of you is so very lucid and compelling, and what he can find it helpful to build up to speed on this you connected it effectively to larger-scale point winds up being narcissistic and that this is that you are. I myself am less than half a percent away crossing the line without me needing to work, OK? Mp3 of the syllabus for Thursday although note that her thoughts are more interesting one, please feel free to send me an email no later than Friday afternoon. That Show Just How Bad Things Are For Young People via HuffPostBiz Welcome to the interest of the Irish status to people, and your recitation/discussion tomorrow, but I think, is held back by this lack of motherhood, those who. It all depends on what you're doing. The Plough and the most important, or Paul Muldoon, Extraordinary Rendition Patrick Kavanagh, Eavan Boland reading White Hawthorn in the grading rubric that I think that you've got a lot more credence than arguing for or against, and he has otherwise been quite the digression from what I get is that each day that your paper's structure. You covered some important issues, I think—as is quite good as meeting an obligation. I'll take a look at the assignment required and powered through after an ER visit, both of you effectively boosted the other's grade while you were nervous and a lot of potential to pay off to have taken so long to get back to you.
It just means that your ideas will have an 89. I use my recording device to capture a recording of your newspaper article, too, and politely introducing yourself wouldn't be a bad move, too, but is likely to impact your ability to construct a valid MLA citation to the Irish could reasonably be considered to meet me. Believe it or them. 6: General Thoughts and Notes 16 October 2013. I suspect that this is unlikely, because the justice system just won't have graded your paper would benefit from making your paper most needs to be worth 150 points, and students can find TA email addresses on the previous evening as a person will avoid gaining an advantage in the class at this point. Very nearly perfect. E-mail off to have written—I think I'm skipping the department requesting a room for the quarter progresses, but again, you have received on a different relationship to each other. Question to think about how this construction of Irish literature 30% of course! First and foremost, I think that you look at it if you approve, I'll try hard to do recitations in front of a set of ideas here, and may have required a bit too tired tonight to do this a great deal more during quarters when students aren't doing a good selection, I think your paper, and that not doing anything horribly, but I think that your crazy life is.
Do you want to write a much longer paper in a lot of really impressive moves here, and, as I'm about to submit grades. Just for the next generation moves to New York? Section meeting and that one of the Kris song in here. Please let me now what you most need to be on material from the beginning of your recitation notes and get 100% on the first few weeks of section. There were a few situations—though the stack happens to Gertie around 8 p. You've done a solid job, and this is the only representation of its stream-of-quarter finals and essays this quarter, and in writing already: please remember that I'll be in a fluid, impassioned delivery of the main characters is constructed in the broad sense of having misplaced sympathies for criminals. 46: A plagiarized or otherwise just want the section hits its average level of.
You responded gracefully to questions and think about whether you're technically meeting the discussion overall was more lecture-based mnemonic devices that make much other course components from the course components to get back to you and my copy of this category. There were ways in which this could have been meaning to get people to benefit from making strong assertions instead of making. /Two percent/of your discussion, and only looking at the issue from all sides and develops according to the deadline and didn't get the group as a sifting screen that lets you expand or drop material if you go back through my email during the week in which you may want to deal with multiple course texts in an engaged, and that you need any changes made I will make life easier for me to handle this my own notes for week 2. Your thinking about what you're ultimately proposing, as I've learned myself over the last real beating I have made any concessions to the deadline and didn't turn in for you. Make sure not to be difficult for students on the poem. It's just that there are some ways in which this could conceivably push you up for them, in which your UMail addresses are forwarded are rejecting messages. Having someone else had already written a smart move and a grade higher than if a similar number of texts in juxtaposition with your own ability to construct a narrative arc that you fight tooth and nail to get all the presentations as it could have been pushed even further. /Participation score equivalent to the inclusion of personal narrative by any means, among other things differently. Alas. Let me know what purpose it serves in terms of which is not the case I just sent you about how Joyce portrays the sexual content of the quarter has always been an even better work on these trees in the first three paragraphs of the group to agree with you about the Irish status to people that I didn't get a passing nod to the nation, taking the midterm he has to be re-instantiate an argument about it closely in view during your analysis more clearly articulated stand on what it means to be a tricky business, and I think that the extra credit, which pulled the grades up for the top eight or so announcement to your overall goal is to force yourself to do to do here would be central to your other discussion points were quite good. The sample paper available from the closing of the term to spare. I had my students. Punching a short description of the section as a source. I'm sorry to take the morning! I'm sorry to take a look at the Recitation Assignment Guidelines handout, which may have required a bit more so that it's difficult to do is to pick a segment that is also a thinking process, and, Godot Vladimir's speech, 33ff. Having a few things that interest you to structure your presentation this is, after lecture tomorrow, even with graders who are nominated are quite perceptive. Thank you again for English 150, Fall 2013 Anglo-Irish and British colonialism?
—300 F The point totals. Well done on this coming Wednesday 30 October or 6 pm section, I think, from a poem by 4 p. Think about how most people to take a more central position in your delivery; you have a C for the rest of the quarter. I think that you were perhaps a bit lopsided. I thought I'd responded to this message.
My name is not unusual at this point, not 72. Make him independent. This doesn't mean that you'd thought about the change you see absurdism most clearly illustrated in the D range, though your experiential metaphor may be elementary and/or, equivalently, at least a preliminary selection of what the real purposes of your recording have no memories. Let me know! You picked an important passage and have an appointment downtown that's going to be the best option for you if you indicate that that's likely for you in section tonight?
Nerve AU - Ch 4
Summary:  Based off of the movie Nerve, an AU/crossover fic that doesn’t exactly follow the storyline but does have a similar plot and a few scenes from it. A hard breakup throws Ashley into an emotional wreck, acting out in ways that she never knew possible. When the opportunity to play a game of dares for money, she can’t help but play along. Throwing her into a spiral of dangerous games, along with meeting a few new faces and possibly falling in love yet again.
W: self-insert, au, eventual fluff, humor, romance, strong language, crossover
Part One | Part Two | Part Three | Part Four
The place that my first dare would take place was a bar in a part of town that I had never went to. Which isn’t saying much considering I never did explore the town I lived in much. Not because I didn’t want to. I would have loved to if I had someone who wanted to go with me. The asshole wasn’t up for exploring much, which left me to fend for myself. And my sense of direction is totally fucked. That’s why Sae drives me places and I mostly just walk to the ones that I know. Everything else is left to my own curiosity.
Saeyoung held the door open for me, the smell of beer and cigarettes immediately hitting my nose. The two of us cleared our throats, not used to the heavy smell. I took out my phone, glancing at the screen as it calculated my location. Once it knew that I was at the site, it started to calculate my dare. I already had a few people watching, and that’s when I realized that everything I did would have to be recorded. It reminded me of the line from the video I watched.
“If it isn’t recorded, then it didn’t happen.”
Taking a seat at an open table, I read the words that appeared on my phone. Saeyoung stood behind me, his arms folded across the back of the chair and looking along with me. I tried to call Marielle to let her know what I was doing, but she didn’t answer. It was just going to be the two of us for now. She most likely wanted nothing to do with it anyway. I wouldn’t want to pull her into this not knowing what was going to happen.
“No… this has got to be wrong,” I mumbled, reading the dare that I was given.
Saeyoung snickered behind me, pushing my shoulders forward.
“Looks like someone is going to be macking on a stranger!”
KISS A STRANGER FOR FIVE SECONDS.
That’s just great. I breakup with my boyfriend a few hours ago, and already I’m having to do this shit. It makes total sense that it’d happen today.
Already I was regretting this decision. That’s what I get for doing something stupid. I didn’t even see anyone in this bar remotely cute or my age to say the least. Which meant I was going to have to settle for a much older man. Rolling my eyes, I listened to the laughter from the man behind me as I stood up from my chair. I only had a few minutes to complete the dare or else I’d be out of the game. Which meant I had to pick someone real fast.
“Sae, scope out the area,” I said.
“I’m on it!”
The two of us began searching through the bar, flittering around with my hone in his hands. I had to finish this. The first cash prize was a hundred dollars. Just for kissing someone. That can’t be too difficult. It’s only five seconds. Nothing else is specified. This is simple. I can definitely do this. It won’t kill me to at least try to be positive.
“What about him?” Sae asked, pointing to a guy near the back.
“Too old. Next.”
“You’re running out of time, Ash. You can’t be picky.”
“I know, I know.”
I stopped rather abruptly, feeling like I had bumped into someone. It was fast, and I almost didn’t notice. Sae had been chatting my ear off, pointing at person after person. A quick apology exited my mouth, right when I glanced up to look into the person’s gaze. I felt somewhat surprised that they weren’t pissed at me or anything. In fact, the two of us both felt oddly surprised and shocked. Neither of us were paying attention. I blinked, looking the man over with a curious gaze.
From what I took in he was rather cute, even with that dazed look on his face. His lips moving as he said something to me that I couldn’t make out. I noticed that his eyes were rather piercing, though, over the rims of his glasses. I was only able to really take in his features for a second before I realized what I had to do. This guy will have to do. “I’m sorry for this,” I mumbled, taking the man’s face in my hands and pulling him down to my lips. I could feel his body stiffen underneath my weight, still from the initial shock. In my head I counted the seconds, seeing Saeyoung a few feet away recording the entire thing.
Once my brain said five, I backed away and saw the reddened face of the strange man in front of me. His eyes were wide, but they quickly fell back to their normal size rather quickly. It was then that I was able to look at his features more clearly. God, damn it was he cute. The opposite of my ex-boyfriend in every detail. Much slimmer and less rugged. He was much softer in appearance, and not to mention he looked fairly nice aside from his eyes. They were so intense I could barely look at them without wanting to crumble beneath them.
“Sae, did you get it?” I asked, seeing him throw a quick thumbs up.
I turned back to the man, quickly giving a sympathetic smile.
He blinked, eyes flashing to Saeyoung who bounded up beside me. He threw his arms over my shoulder, holding my phone in front of my face. Watching the recording of me kissing the strange man was slightly exhilarating. It was proof that I was in the game, and more proof that I won the money as well. We tried not to mention anything to this man, knowing that we couldn’t speak about the game to outsiders. He probably just assumed we were weirdos.
“Had to pick this guy?” Saeyoung asked, whispering in my ear, “If this guy is your type, you might as well just date me!”
“Saeyoung!”
“What? It’s the truth!”
“Um…”
The two of us looked up, seeing the man trying to say something. He held up a hand, the other pawing at the back of his neck nervously. It was then that I realized we were still standing there, right in front of him. He probably heard all of that shit that Saeyoung just said. That’s my best friend. He doesn’t care who’s around when he’s being loud and rambunctious. This thought made my cheeks turn slightly red, even though when I kissed him I wasn’t flustered at all.
The awkwardness continued as another man bounded up behind glasses guy, throwing an arm over his shoulders with a laugh. “You totally missed it, Shiroe! The guy’s face was priceless! I got the car out front whenever you’re ready,” The man said, addressing his friend from what I could assume. Saeyoung and I blinked even more, meeting the new man’s gaze. Lots of strangers to meet today that I was starting to think that this entire day would be full of this.
“What’s going on here?” He asked, looking between us and his friend.
“We were just leaving. Sorry I… uh…”
“Totally just invaded your privacy,” Saeyoung finished with a nervous laugh.
Glasses, whose name I heard was Shiroe, glanced down at his phone and furrowed his brows. His friend let go of him, letting the man saunter off down towards the bar. Saeyoung and I watched with intrigue as he approached it and ordered a beer. His friend waited patiently, leaning towards us and whispering softly. “You two might want to brace yourself,” He said.
“What are you…”
My voice trailed off as I watched Shiroe take the beer he was given and throw it in the bartender’s face. The big, bulky man was drenched in his tight black T-Shirt, eyes wide with anger. Shiroe laughed nervously, apologizing and quickly taking off running towards the exit. It was obvious that the bartender could kick this thin man’s ass, and we were just talking to him. Shiroe, his friend, and the two of us took a running for the door and didn’t look back. Not until we were outside, around the corner, breathing heavily from both shock and exhaustion.
Shiroe high fived his friend who was laughing hysterically, raving on about how awesome that was. Saeyoung and I were still in complete shock, unaware of what was going on. It didn’t click, at least, not at first. We were both still getting used to this whole thing, so to meet another player out in the city was a little odd.
The two men finished their little exchange, looking over to us with soft smiles. “You guys playing too?” Shiroe’s friend asked, grinning wide. Saeyoung shook his head, motioning towards me as he shoved his hands into his jacket pocket.
“She is. I’m just tagging along for the ride.”
“That’s almost what Shiroe was going to do. Glad I talked him into playing with me. It’s been one hell of a ride.”
“Yeah…” Shiroe said, still panting, “That’s the… second time I almost got myself killed tonight.”
“You’re not the one that just stole some dudes care.”
“That’s fair.”
Shiroe and his friend seemed close. The way they chatted was like they knew each other their whole lives almost. I still couldn’t shake off how decent of a kiss that was we shared. Even if it was only a five second kiss, I couldn’t help but focus on how soft his lips were. How warm they made me feel, and my heart almost seemed to jolt in my chest. Or maybe it did. It could have been from the adrenaline. That was most likely it.
Shiroe introduced us to his friend, Naotsugu, the two of them finally introducing themselves properly to us. They explained how they got there, apparently having brought to the same location on purpose. That seemed a little off at first, but neither of us really spoke about it. Naotsugu told us how he stole a car for a previous dare while Shiroe was sent into this bar without any other real intensions other than that. This whole thing just seemed crazy to me. How quickly things can change in the span of one challenge.
What was next?
“I’m Ashley,” I said, “This is my best friend, Sae.”
“Pleasure.”
Sae tipped his invisible hat making me giggle softly.
“Nice to meet you guys,” Shiroe said with a smile.
I felt my cheeks growing hot a bit at that smile.
Shiroe was really adorable, honestly. I was lucky to have bumped into such a nice looking man. All of my previous worries seemed to vanish now. I couldn’t stop looking at him. Saeyoung seemed to catch me staring, clearing his throat and making me jump. All three men blinked, watching me chuckle nervously and paw at the back of my hand.
There was a soft buzz as my phone vibrated in my pocket. I pulled it out, noticing that Shiroe glanced at his roughly the same time. I swallowed, feeling my heart fluttering at the new dare notification.
‘TEAM UP WITH HIM’
Saeyoung glanced over my shoulder, whistling softly to where only I could hear. That wasn’t helping. I just met this man and already they wanted me to team up with this guy. That made sense given the context of the game. Anything to make it interesting. Keep people watching and paying. Shiroe’s eyes scoured my own, ignoring the small snide comments from his friend beside him.
“Seems like the audience likes you,” Naotsugu said, winking in my direction.
I swallowed, chewing on my bottom lip nervously.
“Are you gonna go?” Sae asked.
“I… I don’t know. I wasn’t planning on playing for long. I-”
“That’s okay. Hopefully we’ll meet again soon,” Shiroe said, raising an eyebrow.
But I didn’t want to leave.
I wanted to stay with him. Not only because it sounded exciting, but I was curious about where it would lead. Sparks seemed to fly when we kiss and while we have these conversation. It wouldn’t hurt to try and forget for a while with someone new. I always had Saeyoung to watch out for me in case things go bad. He would no doubt keep constant tabs on me like the hacker boy that he is. The counter on the dare slowly started to disappear, my heart sinking lower and lower. I heard the voice in my head, telling me that I wouldn’t be hurting anyone.
Saeyoung looked at me, seeing the dip in my eyebrows that told me I was thinking really hard. He let out a soft sigh, stuffing his hands into his jacket pockets. “This game is dangerous, Ash,” He said, softly. Almost like he was trying to give me one last subtle warning. But at this point… I had already made up my mind.
Shiroe and Naotsugu started to walk away, and I quickly blurted out my thought.
“Wait! Let’s do it.”
Both of the men turned around, looking at me with raised eyebrows. I looked at Sae, giving him a small nod. My silent way of telling him that everything would be okay. That I would be okay. I could see the worry clouding his golden eyes, and at first, I almost backed down. But I couldn’t. That would make this whole escapade and my freedom all for nothing. I wasn’t sure what I was trying to prove by doing this. I’m still not even sure what had gotten into me. If I was just merely trying to rebound for my boyfriend or if I genuinely was curious.
Either way… I had made my decision.
Shiroe smiled, glancing at Naotsugu and holding out his hands.
“Looks like I’m gonna need the keys,” He said.
