Some more Reversed GT:
Frieza may be gone but of course there will be people who remember what Frieza Force did. Vegeta has worked for Frieza for years before he just disappeared(to Earth), so he would still be remembered as a ruthless Saiyan Prince we saw in Saiyan saga.
So Vegeta would have a little bit of friends from his 30 years in space, but he would also have much more enemies from his past and people who want his head off his neck. I'm sure not every planet welcomes his visit
I'll let Goten and Bulla fight let them be the hero and save him for a change
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Bulla, unlike Gohan/Goten/Trunks, grew up without a single supervillain-ending-the-whole-world disaster so she has never experienced a fight where lives are at stake, where someone can actually die. I guess her first real fight(and it even involves her father) will be upsetting for her
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aand okay I wanted to draw Vegeta as a kid and him still being a father

Your statement about the lack of Goku’s “poison” in Gohan’s heart makes me very excited for your thoughts on Super Saiyan 2. It’s fascinating that at his most bloodthirsty, Gohan is willing to drag out a fight even more than his father would be.
Oh yeah. Super Saiyan is a hell of a drug. I talked a bit about it here but focusing in a bit on Gohan:
Tumblr media
Accessing tremendous power for short bursts at a time was always Gohan's big thing. He's never been able to keep it up for any length of time, and consequently it's never been more than a momentary distraction for his adversary.
Tumblr media
But it's what he had. This was the power that was uniquely Gohan's own. Originally referred to as Gohan being a "Super Saiyan" before that term was later redefined to mean something different.
Tumblr media
It's honestly never been clear what these explosive bursts of ki and battle fury are supposed to be beyond "Something something hybrid Saiyan". Goten and Trunks are hybrids too but their abilities don't act like this. They're much more traditional Saiyans, whereas Gohan's demeanor seems like 98% human and the remaining 2% is him snapping into a momentary Saiyan battle frenzy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I'M SO MAD I'M GOING TO HIT YOU WITH THE MOST POWERFUL ATTACK I'VE EVER IN MY LIFE-- well that failed. Okay, I'm done. That was literally all I had."
Kinda feels like this is meant to be connected to Super Saiyans in some way, right? Like. Setting aside Nappa literally calling him a Super Saiyan, it's not that dissimilar to what happens to Goku on Namek.
After Frieza kills Krillin, Goku snaps. The same way Gohan typically snaps.
Tumblr media
And he's filled with intense power and intense battle fury.
Tumblr media
It's worth noting that in the race to see which proto-Super Saiyan would ignite their transformation first, Vegeta directly equated Gohan's snaps to the Super Saiyan and wondered if he was actually the closest of all.
Tumblr media
He's ultimately proven wrong when it's Goku, not Gohan or Vegeta, who ignites his Super Saiyan transformation for the first time. But it certainly is interesting the way Gohan's hybrid powers and the Super Saiyan are being conflated, and I generally wonder if this is something Toriyama simply didn't elaborate on sufficiently.
Because this conflation of Gohan's hybrid strength and the Super Saiyan forms the basis of what would later be known as Super Saiyan 2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Goku's plan for winning the Cell Games is to trigger Gohan's rage powers as a Super Saiyan. This became the focus of their training after he gave up on breaking the Super Saiyan's limits.
Tumblr media
Limit-broken Super Saiyan forms suck actually, so Goku decided it would be better to perfect the form itself while working within its natural limits.
Instead of trying to trade up to a stronger Super Saiyan form, instead the plan became to become better at being Super Saiyans. Part of which, something Goku had already been working on with Gohan before he broke the limit, was reining in form's heightened aggression and battle lust.
Tumblr media
This was pretty much the crux of their training. How do I Super Saiyan without bleeding ki? How do I Super Saiyan without blind fury? How do I Super Saiyan without berserker movements? How do I Super Saiyan as a martial art?
But you can also see the wheels turning in Goku's head in retrospect, can't you? The similarities between Gohan's rage power and the Super Saiyan? Goku's planning to use Gohan's rage flareups to defeat Cell. Meanwhile, for the focus of their training, he's teaching Gohan to resist the effects of enhanced aggression without losing the power it brings, instead mastering that power to make it his own.
Goku did a bit of a tricksy there, didn't he? There's a reason Kaio officially declared Goku to be a formal master back on Namek.
He does make a miscalculation by assuming that just being in a fight will be enough to make Gohan snap.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gohan has the spirit of a hero, not the spirit of a warrior. He's only ever snapped as a reaction to people being hurt; Never to win a fight. Doesn't even need to be people he cares about; He once triggered to save a Namekian child in a village under fire. But that's where his motivation lies. His fury isn't battle lust, it's outrage for the mistreatment of other people.
So, bit of a flaw in the plan. Story wouldn't be interesting if everything went off without a hitch every time. But once it works, it works.
Tumblr media
It's super weird that the Buu arc made this an attainable form for Goku and Vegeta because the way it's presented here is uniquely Gohan's own. What would later be called "Super Saiyan 2" in a way that is hilariously disrespectful to Super Vegeta and Super Trunks was originally just. Like. Gohan's rage power channeled and controlled through his mastery of the Super Saiyan.
The one fed into the other and the result was this.
Tumblr media
Still compassionate.
Tumblr media
But merciless.
Tumblr media
And cruel.
Fun fact: The anime dials down some of the violence with Cell because some of the shit in this arc is gorey as fuck. Toei made all the Cell Juniors erupt into blue smoke upon death to avoid having to animate too much of the intense violence Gohan inflicts on them, such as that decapitation seen above.
They did a similar thing to Cell himself. Cell gets torn up quite a bit to show off his regenerative abilities, with the anime replacing shots of Cell's vaguely drawn but bloody insides:
Tumblr media
With. Uh. Whatever this juicy rubber anus is supposed to be.
Tumblr media
Anime Cell, I have so many questions about your internal biology. But I digress.
Gohan's first order of business is, true to the heart of his character, to snatch the Senzu away from Cell and help his friends. Even in the grip of even more Saiyan battle lust than Goku's training prepared him for, Gohan's still a hero first and a warrior second.
Tumblr media
Gohan learns from his mistake, grows as a fighter, and resolves this time to bring an end to--STOP
Tumblr media
HERO TIME
He just. He can't help himself. This is who he is in his heart of hearts. This is literally:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All over again. This is who Gohan is in his heart of hearts: A kindhearted and compassionate boy who cares more about helping other people than about winning fights.
Even the Super Saiyan can't take that away from him.

Dragon Ball Super Manga ch.91-93
Tumblr media
Last time, we covered the "prequel" story of Goten and Trunks adopting superhero identities and capturing Dr. Hedo. Now we get into the events of the DBS: Super Hero movie itself. I already liveblogged the movie extensively in September (here, here, here, here, and here), so for the manga adaptation I'll be focusing mainly on whatever changes Toyotaro made to the story.
First off, Chapter 91 opens with Piccolo picking up Pan from school, and when she talks about wanting to be a superhero like Goten and Trunks have been doing recently, Piccolo offers to train her just like he trained Gohan in Dragon Ball Z.
Unfortunately, this is the sort of thing we can expect from this adaptation. It's mostly a straight retelling of the movie, and the little extras that get added in don't really add much to the story. I mean, the movie established that Piccolo has picked up Pan from school in the past, but there was no need to show it. Also, the movie didn't really explain why Piccolo started training Pan, probably because it didn't need to. I think the manga pretty much proves my point, because it attempts to tackle the question, but only comes up with a fairly pat answer. She wanted to fly and shoot hand energy like Goten and Trunks, and so Piccolo offered to teach her and she said yes.
Tumblr media
Then we get to this scene, where Krillin's boss in the West City P.D. holds a briefing on the Red Ribbon Army and their plans to recruit Dr. Hedo. This takes the place of the flashback montage that opened the movie, and it sucks.
That montage was awesome, and Toyotaro could have drawn his own version of it here, but instead he did this. We could be looking a Goku punching Tao Pai Pai, or 17 killing Dr. Gero, or Cell smirking like a boss, but instead we're in a boring conference room reading walls of text.
Tumblr media
Look at this fucking page! It's awful! A lot of this one serves as a stand-in for Carmine's report to Magenta about Dr. Hedo. I get it, this is a lot of information to go through, and Toyotaro probably wanted to move on as quickly as possible, but part of what I loved about the movie was the way they showcased the characters and visuals during the infodumping. Carmine's report is pretty dry in the movie, but Magenta's office is interesting to look at, and Carmine and Magenta themselves are visually compelling characters. While they talk about Hedo, Carmine shows off his video editing skills and Magenta keeps screwing up his snacks
This police briefing, however, sucks all the fun out of it. This place looks like a hotel conference room with hardwood floors. All of the cops look exactly the same, and why the hell are they wearing helmets and sunglasses indoors, anyway? Krillin's boss, Sergeant Nutz, has some potential, but she has nothing to do with this story, so featuring her so prominently here is just a waste of time.
What really irks me is that the next scene shows Carmine and Magenta talking about Dr. Hedo, just like in the movie, except there's not much for them to say because Krillin and Nutz already covered it all! That's really dumb! We have two scenes designed to set up the plot of the movie, and one of them was in the movie, and actually features the main antagonists. But Toyotaro chose to emphasize the other scene instead.
So the idea here is that the police are already aware of Magenta's scheme to revive the Red Ribbon Army, and they know he plans to recruit Dr. Hedo once he gets out of prison. They also know that Hedo had that disc containing data on Dr. Gero's bioweapon, although I don't see how they could know that, since Trunks couldn't access the data on the disc and it was destroyed before anyone else could try. Hedo told Krillin in Chapter 90 that he memorized the contents of the disc, but he never said what it was that he memorized. This also goes against the storyline in the movie. In the film, Magenta had Gero's data on Cell, and the reason he wanted Hedo was because his own scientists couldn't do anything with it.
Anyway, the police seem to know everything about the Red Ribbon Army already. The only thing they don't know is where the Red Ribbon base is, so they send Krillin to follow Magenta's limo and spy on him. So we get the limo scene from the movie, except Krillin's clinging to the side of the car the whole trip, and then Hedo spots him and sends his cyborg bee, Hatchimaru, to attack him.
Tumblr media
The gag here is that Magenta and Carmine don't even know Krillin is out there, and Hedo doesn't particularly care. The scene plays out almost exactly like it does in the movie, but with Krillin spliced in like Jabba the Hut in the Star Wars Special Edition.
Tumblr media
Of course, Krillin gets shaken off so the base's location remains a secret, so this whole bit is completely pointless. It's just so dumb. I assume Toyotaro needed to pad out the story for one reason or another, or maybe he just wanted to add some new details so he wouldn't get bored retelling a movie like this. But if this is the best he can come up with, why bother? So far, this manga keeps "expanding" on the movie by answering questions nobody asked, like "Why did Piccolo start training Pan?" or "Why didn't the authorities stop the Red Ribbon Army?" or "Why is Gamma 1's cape red?"
Tumblr media
From here, it's a pretty faithful retelling of the movie, which kind of makes the "filler" scenes even more conspicuous. It's refreshing to see the actual story move along without all these pointless diversions. On the other hand, it's kind of dull, because I already covered the movie and there's nothing else to talk about here.
Tumblr media
There is some extra stuff in the Gamma 2 vs. Piccolo fight. Piccolo loses an arm, but then he grows a new one and makes it all long to catch Gamma 2 off guard. It doesn't slow him down much, but it's something we didn't get in the movie. I do find it a bit strange how Gamma 2 notes Piccolo's regeneration ability like it's this new data to add to his files. Shouldn't the Red Ribbon Army have all of this intel programmed into Gamma 2 by now?
Tumblr media
Moving on, when Piccolo infiltrates the Red Ribbon base, he gets stopped by his superiors, who remind "94" that he isn't assigned to this area, but another soldier offers to switch assignments so "94" can gain some valuable experience watching Hedo eat cookies.
Again, what is the point of this? We're just derailing the story so Toyotaro can waste a page explaining how Piccolo managed to get this far into the base. In the movie, nobody notices or cares that "94" is in the command center instead of the hangar. That's because they're all faceless, interchangeable henchmen. They wear masks and refer to each other by numbers, for crying out loud! This is why Piccolo disguised himself in the first place! If Toyotaro wrote Star Wars, he'd do a whole scene where Luke Skywalker has to rewrite the Death Star's duty roster just so "TK-421" can get reassigned to prison detail. Nobody cares!
Tumblr media
Okay now this is more like it. We get to the part where no one can reach Goku and Vegeta because they're training on Beerus' planet, and so Toyotaro gives us a little more of the sparring match Goku and Broly had in the movie. It's not a lot, but this is the sort of thing filler is good for. Toyo also does a whole montage recap of the DBS: Broly film, which is perfectly serviceable, but it annoys me because it demonstrates that he could have done the same thing with the Red Ribbon Army flashback in Chapter 91, but instead he did the briefing scene with Sgt. Nutz. Ugh.
Tumblr media
We see the same scene where Vegeta explains the importance of mental training, although when he talks about all of their recent opponents, he adds manga-only characters like Moro, Gas, and Black Frieza. And that's fine, although it's strange when he talks about Jiren and Black Frieza in the same breath like this. In the manga, Vegeta has gotten pretty good at "Ultra Ego", his answer to Goku's Ultra Instinct. And Goku's learned to tap into UI at will. So I'm pretty sure Jiren and Moro aren't really an issue for either of them anymore. I mean, the only reason Goku couldn't defeat Jiren by himself at the Tournament of Power was because he lacked experience using UI, and now he's much better at it.
The point I'm getting at is that in the manga, Vegeta doesn't need to do "mental training" to defeat Jiren because he's already surpassed him. And he might need it to surpass Broly and Black Frieza, but he speaks as though that's their secret, and he needs to learn how to do it himself. I'm pretty sure Broly isn't "relaxed" between attacks when he's using his full power. He was kind of freaking the fuck out back then. Black Frieza might have been doing something like that, but he only hit Vegeta once, so I'm not sure how he could be certain.
Tumblr media
So then we move on to the part where Piccolo wishes for a power-up from Shenron, and we just skip the part where Dende upgrades Shenron to do that. The implication here is that DBS-manga Shenron always had the ability to make Orange Piccolo, and no one bothered to ask before. Kind of annoying.
Anyway, while Piccolo and Bulma are getting their...ahem... enhancements, Trunks sees them and calls Goten. They make plans to sneak out and play superheroes again, even though Goten's grounded and he really doesn't need to run up a bigger bill with his mom. I guess this is the throughline for Goten and Trunks in Dragon Ball Super. No matter what happens, Dragon Team tries to keep the boys out of it. It's not just Chi-Chi wanting Goten to study. Back in Resurrection F, Bulma tells the others that she doesn't want them fucking around during the battle with Frieza. And Vegeta ices them out of the tournaments with the other universes because he doesn't want them turning into Gotenks and being dorks the whole time. The Saiyaman X-1 and X-2 caper probably didn't do much to convince anyone that Goten and Trunks have matured.
But they still crave the excitement of being in the thick of things. They know the adults are trying to keep them out of it, and that just makes it more exciting. I suppose this is the legacy of the Buu Saga, where they had to get involved because there was no other choice, and they've had the bug for DBZ mayhem ever since, but their parents said no.
And maybe that's why Goku and Vegeta were so determined to train the boys in the End of Z episodes. Sometime after Super Hero, they came back home, heard about the Saiyamen costumes and the battle with Cell Max, and decided that they needed to be toughened up. Like, okay, you want to go fight bad guys like we do? Stop doing the poses and quit relying on fusion and learn how to do it right. And if the sparring sessions are too hard for you, you can always go back to doing your homework like your mom wanted."
That's why Goten's so frustrated in DBZ 289. He just wants to go on dates or screw around, but his only options are a) homework and b) fight for-ev-er *clap clap clap-clap-clap*.
And now that I think about it, this is where GT dropped the ball with Goten, because he doesn't really seem to have gained anything from that. Hitting the books and getting hit by Goku should have made him a bit more serious about his life, but instead he's just constantly talking to girls on the phone, because that was the only thing GT's writers seemed to think of for him to do.
I mean, they kind of got it right with Trunks, who went into GT with a lot of responsibility and skills. He didn't enjoy his position, but you could tell he'd grown a lot as a person since the end of DBZ.
So yeah, maybe I'm beginning to appreciate Big Goten more than I did before, but this newfound perspective still doesn't do much for this part of the manga. There's just a lot of nothing happening here, and throwing more Krillin, Goten, and Trunks at it doesn't help matters.

Summoning Goten and Trunks fans
HI RIGHT so I'm trying to get ages and school years for Goten and Trunks and it's driving me bonkers (working out Blue Hal but birthdays will do), feel free to chip in and correct, I'll update the original post with strikethrough corrections if needs be.
ETA: would be too much to correct but @secretsofdbz has a really good breakdown of why we can consider Daizenshuu (and therefore most online timelines) as out in the reblogs. The post below attempts to square Daizenshuu by squinting but sounds like it's neater to just ignore it. It's too late for my fics I'm stuck with parkour, but maybe not for yours if you're particular!)
At the end of the day it doesn't matter but I like everything to line up as best as possible and headcanon what I can't.
They're born 767 and 766 respectively, Future Trunks is postulated as Nov 766 as he's stated he was born about six months before the androids arrive. We know Goten is born after late May 767's Cell games.
In the early May 774 tournament before Buu we know they give their ages as 7 and 8, but since that's impossible for Goten I like to think he rounded up and Trunks was born earlier than Future Trunks. Trunks could have also lied but we know the timestream changes and it's just funnier to me that a 6 year old would lie to be a cooler age, especially if his friend is 8.
Running with those constraints we're at:
Goten: May 767 - Dec 767
Trunks: Jan 766 - early May 766
I thinkkk Blue Hal takes place 3 months before Super Hero, which is when Pan is 3. She's born 779 (seeing references to May?) so Blue Hal at the latest is early 783 could be late 782? She's also supposed to have just started kindergarten in Blue Hal, but I don't have the Japanese scan to see if it's Japanese or American naming, and kids join nursery all the time so idk if there's strict timing help there. We also know Goten and Trunks are one school year apart.
So! Taking late 782 for arguments sake:
Trunks is 16 turning 17 sooner rather than later
Goten is 15, turning 16 later rather than sooner
In the Japanese system which runs April to April and three year high school, to keep them only a year apart Trunks needs to be born after April (so basically born in April 766), making him a first year high schooler (already turned 16), so Goten is a final year middle schooler (May 767 - Dec 767, has or will turn 15 in that apr 782-mar 783 school year).
BUT we know they go to the same school, and it's literally written as "high school" in the Japanese, and it's in West City, so they could be a freshman and sophomore.
Going further, if it's a Western High School the American system runs September to September, that means Trunks can be born Jan-early May 766 and Goten May 776-Aug 767 for the year gap, and in that case Goten is a sophomore and Trunks is a Junior, as they'll be turning 16 and 17 in their respective school year.
So I can get all my ducks in a neat little row with a very constrained pick of April 766 and July 767 for birthdays. I think?

His Lovely Rose - Chapter 23: Frieza Beaten
Tumblr media
WARNING: This chapter contains gore, violence, and potential disturbing imagery.
Previous. . . . Next Story. . . .
——————————————————————————
Brier watched Vegeta and Frieza in the middle of their stand-off. It was like watching two rival gunslingers waiting for the other to draw their weapon in those films Kero likes so much. Though it was unclear if the "hero" would be able to defeat the "villain" in this unscripted battle.
"Sorry Frieza, but I can't let you kill Kakarot." Vegeta said. Brier blinked in surprise. Did Vegeta have a soft spot for Goku after all? "As annoying as he may be, I need him in my life so that I can have someone always pushing me to get stronger." he added.
Ah, so that was why. It made more sense actually.
"You. . .how dare you, you mongrel?! You coward!" Frieza shouted, angry at having been robbed of his moment.
'Coward? Says the one taking cheap shots. . .' Brier thought to herself, annoyed. Releasing a sigh, Brier outstretched her right arm and used magic to bring Goku's weakened body to her and the others. As soon as Goku's body made it to the group, Bulma and the Z-Fighters gathered around him.
"Dad, are you ok?!" Gohan exclaimed.
"Back up everyone." Brier commanded. "He needs room." Everyone nodded and backed away. "S-Sorry about making you do this, L-Lady Brier." Goku said, apologetic. "I-I screwed up big time, huh?"
"It's fine, Son Goku. Though I'm afraid Whis did try to warn you about something like this happening. So you should probably be more concerned with him." Brier told him.
Goku looked at Whis for a reaction. As always, Whis didn't seem to care.
Brier then gently placed her hands on Goku's chest and said, "laeH!" In a matter of seconds, the Saiyan's body was healed of its life-threatening injury.
Goku almost immediately sat up straight, alarming the others (except Beerus, Whis, and Brier). "Goku, take it easy!" Piccolo told him. "Relax! I'm fine! Looks like Lady Brier's magic works as well as the Senzu Beans!"
Upon seeing that his father was fine, Goten immediately hugged him. "D-Dad! I-I was so scared!" he cried. "Hey, it's ok bud. I'm alive, aren't I?" Goku said, attempting to calm his youngest son.
Before anyone else could speak, a loud blast was heard. Brier looked to see that Vegeta and Frieza were now fighting one another, and that the one known as 'Sorbet' had been shot in the chest, and was almost dying. Whether he was shot by Vegeta or Frieza during the battle was unclear to her, but she didn't care. It was when he made a weak attempt to shoot Vegeta that she decided that she had enough.
He needed to be taken care of now.
Brier then snapped her fingers and let out a low whisper, "emoC, oreK! Kcatta!" Suddenly, the ground beneath Sorbet turned blood red. Before Sorbet could react, his entire body was ensnared in the massive jaw of a cream colored wolf with glowing ochre colored eyes being pushed back into the sockets of its exposed white skull. The demonic wolf, Kero, was chomping on the now limp, bloody body of the former commander of the Frieza Force. It was such a disturbing sight that Bulma and Gohan made sure to cover the eyes of Trunks and Goten respectively. Pretty much everyone was disgusted by it, except for Beerus and Whis. They had seen this before, therefore they were used to it.
The giant wolf swallowed the remnants of Sorbet's body and licked his lips. He then looked at Brier, ignoring the others.
"Is this all that you called me for, my lady?" Kero asked, his voice booming like Shenron's. "Yes, that's all. I just needed you to take care of a pest for me. You can go back home if you wish." Brier said. "Although I wouldn't mind if you wanted to stay and meet everyone."
"Hmmmm. . . It's probably best that I go." Kero said. His eyes glanced at the others for a brief moment, startling them. "After all, it seems that the Earthlings don't want to be near me. Perhaps another time, with me in a more. . .comfortable form for them to comprehend."
"If that's what you want, then that's fine. We'll see you soon." Brier said as she bid him goodbye. The void-like portal that led Kero to Earth vanished as soon as his giant wolf head disappeared. As soon as he left, Gohan and Bulma allowed Trunks and Goten to see again. The only one who had the courage to ask Brier who that was was none other than Bulma herself.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" Bulma exclaimed. "Him? That was Kero." Brier replied, nonchalant. "Kero. . .? Wait, isn't that the same name as Whis' co-worker?!" Bulma asked. "Are you telling me that that thing is the guy that is the same person Whis thought about bringing over for a party?!"
"Co-worker? I suppose that you can call him that." Brier replied. "Though he's technically my familiar, and-" "Familiar?! Is that a fancy way of saying a 'pet' or something?!" Bulma nearly shouted. "No. A familiar is a daemon who is in a contract with a god or goddess." Brier explained. Brier hoped that Bulma was done asking follow up questions. But alas, she wasn't.
"If you had something like that, why didn't you use him against Frieza?! We all could have-" "Ms Bulma, like what my husband said earlier, we're not really allowed to intervene in mortal affairs." Brier said. "What? Then why did you have that wolf eat that guy?!" Bulma questioned.
"It's simple. He annoyed me, and I decided to get rid of him." Brier answered with slight cold tone. This comment made Bulma slightly scared of the goddess. In fact, nearly all of the Z-Fighters were a little disturbed by it. Brier seemed like such a kind-hearted being that it seemed impossible to even imagine that she didn't care about taking the life of another person. Even if they worked for a bad guy.
"Are we finished now?" Brier asked, seemingly back to her regular mood. She then patiently waited for Bulma to answer. "I-"
An electric blue glow appeared from behind the goddess. "?" She turned around to see that Vegeta had transformed into Super Saigon Blue as well, having the same characteristics that Goku had prior.
"I-I don't believe it!" Brier heard Frieza shout, sounding shocked. She watched as the Saiyan Prince descended to the soil of the Earth with a smirk on his face. "Things have changed the last time you were around. For starters, I can now do this." Vegeta said. Frieza gritted his teeth in anger as Vegeta got closer. The tyrant then shot at Vegeta with an energy blast, but it had no effect. "?!"
Brier could tell that this was pushing Frieza over the limit as he continued to shot at the Saiyan. "NO! THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!" he yelled. "You of all people should know about me: I don't share the same taste for forgiveness like Kakarot does! You're going back to Hell!" Vegeta declared. He flew straight towards Frieza and punched him in the abdomen, causing him to cough up a mixture of purple colored blood and saliva.
Vegeta avoided Frieza's attempts to punch him, using his newfound speed to attack the one who caused him so much pain. To rob him of his right to be king.
Vegeta used an excessive amount of force to kick Frieza's calf. The kick was so strong that he could hear the sound of bone shattering. It was obvious that Frieza's leg was now broken. Vegeta watched as the space lizard cried out in pain. To say that this made him feel a small amount of victory already was putting it lightly. But he knew that his fight wasn't over yet.
"Give it up Frieza. You don't stand a chance against the true power of a Saiyan God!" Vegeta said.
"It's simply not possible for me to be defeated by the likes of you Vegeta! It won't happen!" Frieza shouted. He made an attempt to stand, but was quick to remember what Vegeta did to his leg. He fell to the dirt once more, and to make matters worse, Frieza's golden form vanished, meaning that he was now in his original form once more. "!" Frieza tried to move away from Vegeta, but due to his injuries, he did make it very far.
"Woah, look at that! He's lost his golden form!" Krillin nearly exclaimed. "I guess this means that he's completely at Vegeta's mercy now." Piccolo commented as well. "Yeah. Sucks to be him, I guess." Goku said.
"How. . .how could this have happened?!" Frieza began to shout. "OUT OF ALL THE BEINGS IN THE UNIVERSE, THE ONE WHO GOT THE BETTER OF ME WAS VEGETA?! THIS IS NOT THE WAY THIS ENDS!" "Hmph. At least try to face your death with a shred of honor." Vegeta said with a cold smile. He then outstretched his right arm once more and was preparing an energy blast just for Frieza.
He had waited a long time for this. "And don't ever dream of resurrecting again."
"You. . .YOU CAN ALL GO TO HELL WITHOUT M-" Before Frieza could finish his sentence, a black circle appeared under his body, turning into a dark void instantaneously. Slimy ink-like tendrils formed around the tyrant and forcefully dragged him into the void, covering his mouth to prevent him from screaming. And just like that, Frieza was gone.
Everyone was stunned by what happened. Especially Vegeta.
'Was this some kind of new trick Frieza learned? To escape from his enemies?. . .' Vegeta wondered. He felt around for Frieza's energy to see if he was going to attempt a sneak attack of sorts. But he didn't sense anything. It appeared that Frieza was truly gone.
"Woah, what was that Vegeta?" Goku asked, he and the others going to the Saiyan Prince. "Did Whis teach you some kind of secret technique or something?"
"What? No, he didn't. I thought that Frieza had some kind of new escape tactic. Unless. . .Lady Brier, did you use magic to get rid of him?" Vegeta questioned, causing everyone to look at the goddess.
"N-No, I didn't. Believe me, I'm as shocked as you are." Brier answered honestly. "Although from the looks of it, Frieza didn't seem to have known about this. . .thing that took him, so it was most likely against his will."
"So you're saying that someone kidnapped Frieza?" Gohan asked. "Either that or perhaps Vegeta was right and he used a new method to escape. Or at least, a surviving member of his army did." Brier said.
"So then. . .does this mean that Frieza can come back?" Trunks asked. "Most likely, I'm afraid." Brier answered.
Everyone began to worry about the potential return the evil emperor, but Beerus decided to break their scared silence. "Oh relax! Even if he does come back, I'm sure that all of you will get stronger in the meantime. That is if you still want to protect Earth anyway."
"Of course we do! Why wouldn't we?!" Piccolo nearly shouted, but then remembered that he was speaking to a god. Luckily for him, Beerus didn't seem to care. "Good, then you can all worry about this for another day." he added.
"I hate to say it, but Lord Beerus is right. We should be happy that Earth's been spared for today." Bulma said. "Let's have a get-together at my place. What do all say?" Pretty much everyone nodded their heads.
As everyone began to get ready, Brier felt an odd presence nearby. "?" She looked around to see where it was coming from. Then her ruby eyes noticed a peculiar bird resting on a nearby tree. It was that damned crow from Bulma's birthday party. What the hell is it doing back here?
"-r? Brier?" The goddess turned around to see Whis and Beerus looking at her. "Darling, is something wrong?" Beerus asked. "What do you mean? You don't see the. . ." When she went to look back at the bird, Brier saw that it was gone. "That's odd." she mumbled, which the two men heard.
"What is, my lady?" Whis asked.
". . .You know what? It's been a long day, I'm probably just a little tired and seeing things." Brier replied, hoping that she was right. The Titan then walked with Beerus and Whis to follow the others to Capsule Corp for a celebration.

Location: Unknown Planet. . . .
Frieza roughly landed on the ground of a dark and cold room. Well, more specifically on something hard and boney. The sudden fall made the sharp pain in his broken leg worse. "Argh!! Who's the one that brought me here?! Just so you know, I'm NOT in a generous mood today!" Frieza yelled, his voice echoing across the vast room. His blood red eyes looked around for any source of light he could find and use so that he could get out. He didn't find any, it was just a vast darkness all around him.
Frustrated, Frieza created a small red energy orb with his finger to use a as a light source. And the first thing he saw was a wrinkled, lifeless body of what appeared to be a Namekian, who had a forever horrified look on his smelly decomposing face.
"!"
Frieza backed away in a panic, his back colliding into something. Or rather someone, given how soft it was. Frieza turned around to see a cloaked figure behind him. He couldn't see their face properly due to their face being partially obscured by their hood.
"W-Who are you?!" the tyrant shouted. "Tell me at once, you bastard!" "Oh my, you're a feisty one, aren't you~?" the hooded person said as a response, his voice rich and melodic. Like a siren. His voice strangely somehow managed to soothe Frieza just a little bit.
"I apologize for startling you, good sir. It wasn't my intention. And for the mess of the place. I haven't had guests for some time." the stranger said. He snapped his fingers and a strange mist appeared, getting rid of the Namekian body, and several skeletons that were nearby. When the mist disappeared, he muttered something in a language that Frieza couldn't understand. Whatever it was, it resulted in his leg healing.
"There you go. Hope you're feeling better now."
Frieza stood up from the ground and dusted himself off. "Who. . .who are you?" Frieza asked once more, this time more relaxed. "A possible new ally of yours, I hope." the stranger said. He then noticed the small light from Frieza's finger and chuckled, which sent a shiver down Frieza's spine. A pleasant one actually. "There's no need for that, anymore." he said as he then raised a hand up in the air, creating a white hot flame that flew to several chandeliers on the ceiling. This lit up the room properly. Frieza looked at the stranger to see if he could finally see what he looked like.
Frieza couldn't see the upper half of his face, only the mouth area. From what he could tell, the hooded figure had skin as white as porcelain, and cupid bow lips that were colored a deep shade of pink, and near the left side of his lips was a dark beauty mark. Even though he couldn't see the entirety of his face, Frieza could tell that this man was a rather attractive individual, like Zarbon was when he was alive and in his primary form.
"Is there something odd about me, Lord Frieza?" he asked. "You're staring." "!" Frieza couldn't believe that he was caught staring. This was not like him. This wasn't like him at all.
"M-My apologies, Mr. . .?"
"Right, I never did tell you my name did? I'll fix that soon enough." the stranger said as a black ink-like portal appeared behind him, allowing a half-skeletal crow to enter in the room and fly to the hooded figure and gently land on his left shoulder. Frieza's eyes widened in surprise at the sight. It was similar to the one that brought him here. "Wait, are you the one who saved me from meeting my demise?" Frieza asked.
"Yes, I am. I've had my eye on you for a while now, and I believe that you and I can be beneficial to each other for our. . .respective goals, to say the least." the stranger said, not minding the fact that the crow was now resting on his shoulder. "I have an offer to make, if you're interested that is."
Frieza raised a 'brow' in suspicion. "As intriguing as that is. . .I would still like to know your name before we talk about your 'offer'."
"Oh! Right! Of course." the hooded figure said. "How rude of me. A thousand apologies, good sir. I'm called 'Montsechia'. Though you can call me just call me 'Monty' for now. Does that sound good?"
"I suppose it'll do. Now tell me, uh Monty, how do you plan on helping me?" Frieza asked. Monty smiled and said, "Oh, I'm so glad that you asked~." He stood up and led Frieza to a nearby table with two chairs that seemed to have been made from bone and silver. Where Monty got the bones from, Frieza didn't really want to know. But then again, it's not like he wasn't capable of performing disturbing acts himself.
Frieza sat in his chair and waited for his savior to do the same. Upon sitting down, Monty snapped his fingers and it resulted in a bottle of wine and two crystal clear glasses to appear in front of the two. "Would you like a drink?" he asked. "It's chilled."
"I suppose." Frieza answered.
Monty placed the glasses on the table and poured the dark red liquid in both of the glasses. He gave Frieza a glass and took a sip from his. Frieza looked at the contents of the glass. He sniffed it to see if there was something wrong with it. He didn't smell anything wrong, but that didn't mean that Monty didn't try anything. It could contain an odorless poison that could kill him in an instant.
"Is something on your mind, Lord Frieza?" Monty asked. "Did you put anything in this? Such as a poison that only affects its intended target?" Frieza questioned, acting as if Monty was a criminal in an interrogation room. And Monty reacted in a way Frieza didn't expect: he laughed. Frieza waited for him to stop so he can get his answer.
"Oh my. . .You're not one to trust easily, are you?" Monty joked, having calmed down.
"After what I've been through, of course not!" Frieza nearly shouted.
Monty laughed once more at Frieza's little outburst, revealing a pair of sharp white fangs that glistened in the light from the white hot fire. "Oh, you truly are going to be fun to have around." he said, which caused Frieza to become embarrassed. What the hell is that supposed to mean?
After composing himself, Monty said, "Answer me this: Why would I save you only to then poison you? It'd be a waste, wouldn't it?"
". . ."
"Aw, what's wrong, Lord Frieza? Cat got your tongue?~"
Frieza said nothing as he took a sip from his glass. He was pleasantly surprised by the taste. How did someone who lived in such. . .morbid and decrepit area have such a fine tasting wine like this? Frieza cleared his throat and said, "Well, I can see now that you mean no. . .physical harm. So tell me: why do you need my help with whatever it is that you're planning?"
Monty placed his glass back on the table, and let out a sigh. "Well, normally I wouldn't need outside help, but I'm not exactly as great as I used to be back in my prime."
In his prime? Just how old was this man?! Frieza thought he was a relatively young man, since he seemed to have smooth skin and sounded like he was barely a day over twenty. Maybe he belonged to an alien race that aged slowly or stopped aging at a certain point in their life.
"I'm building an army. And I need a right hand man to help me with the process." Monty said honestly. Frieza blinked in surprise. "You want me as your right hand man? And what makes you think that I wish to follow you?"
"Oh please, haven't you ever heard of the phrase, 'you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours'? If you help me build an army and take back what belongs to me, then I'll help you make the Frieza Empire the greatest force in the entire universe. I can make you the most fearsome being this solar system has ever seen and no one will ever question your rule." Monty said with a grin. "And all you have to so is help me, and everything that you desire will be yours. What do you say?"
Frieza took a minute to think it over. There had to be more to this deal, right? It sounded too good to be true after all. But if he wanted to take down Goku and his friends, then he's going to need all the help he's going to get, especially if he wanted to be Emperor of the Universe. Besides, if this "Monty" proved to be troublesome in the future, he could always just kill him.
Frieza took another sip from his wine, and after placing the now cool glass on the table, outstretched his hand for Monty to take.
"Very well, Monty. You've captured my interest. You have yourself a deal."

Brier took a sip from her wine glass as she watched everyone chatting amongst themselves. She herself wasn't in the mood to interact with anyone, for she was mentally drained and wanted to go back home to rest. The goddess stood up from where she sat and was going to walk to Beerus and get his attention. But she stopped in her tracks when she felt someone lightly tug on the skirt of her attire.
Brier turned to see that it was none other Goten and Trunks. "May I help you boys?" Brier asked. "I'm fine, but Goten wanted to say something to you, Miss Brier." Trunks said, gesturing to his dark haired friend. "I just wanted to say thank you for helping my dad." Goten told her. "Oh it wasn't a problem, Young Goten." Brier said, kneeling in front of the boy with a little smile. "Is there anything else that you wanted to say or was that it?" "If it's alright, can you show us more of those magic tricks like you did on Bulma's birthday?" Goten asked with a hopeful smile. The goddess's smile turned bigger and let out a little laugh before replying with, "Of course. What kind of tricks do you want to see?"
The first to reply was Trunks, now getting interested. "Can you do that trick with the butterflies? Only this time, can you make like a horse or something?" Brier nodded and with a flick of her wrist, created a big glowing rose red stallion made up of magical energy. Trunks and Goten became excited and immediately got up on the horse, which sprouted wings and began to ascend up in the air and took the boys for a ride.
Their parents and everyone else noticed and were amazed by the sight. Brier even heard young Marron ask her parents, Krillin and Android #18, if she could ride on the horse when Trunks and Goten were done. After Trunks and Goten were done, the young blonde girl was placed on the back of the magical stallion and began to go for a ride as well, with her mother #18 going with her to make sure she didn't fall.
Brier then felt a tap on her shoulder, and she turned to see that it was none other than Beerus. "What is it, love?" she asked. "It's time for us to leave. Whis has gone to bring back leftovers for us, so he'll be back soon." Beerus said. "Oh, is it?"
"We have no business here, and I can see that you're tired." Beerus added, placing his arm around her waist and bringing her body close to his. Brier nodded her head slightly and said, "Of course you noticed. I assume that this means that you want to for us to nap together again?" "We could. But if you still have enough energy, I can think of something else for us to do back home~" he whispered in her ear.
"!" The goddess face warmed up at the suggestion. "B-Beerus!" she nearly exclaimed, flustered. "What?" he said innocently, though Brier knew that his mind was anything but. Brier gave Beerus an amused smile and said, "Very funny, love. As tempting as that sounds, I'm afraid that I'll have to decline. I'm not in the mood." Beerus shrugged his shoulders and said, "Oh well. If that's what you want. I can settle for a nap with you."
"Oh I know you can." "Hey. . ."
Brier gave her husband a playful shove as she walked to the others to inform them of their departure. The first to notice her was Bulma and Goku. "Hey Lady Brier! How're you doing? Is everything alright?" Goku asked, taking a bite of a piece of barbecued meat he had on his plate. "I'm fine, Son Goku. I've simply come to inform you all that Beerus, Whis, and I are going to leave soon." Brier answered. "What? Already?"
"I apologize. But since we don't have any business here, we have to leave." Brier told him and Bulma. "Oh, well that's fine." Bulma said. "Again, I'm sorry for the three of us having to leave so suddenly." Brier said. Just as she was about to leave, Goku stopped her by asking, "Wait, Lady Brier! Are you guys still gonna come to Pan's party?" "Your granddaughter's party? Oh, is it to celebrate her birth?" Brier asked. "Yeah! I kind of haven't done anything for her yet, and Chi-Chi wants me to be a good grandpa for her." Goku explained.
"Hmmm. . .I suppose I can come as long I'm not too busy. And as for Beerus and Whis, they can come with me as well as long as there's good food for them." Brier said. "All right. And this time we'll be sure to have enough pudding for Lord Beerus to have!" Goku declared. "Goku! Don't go making promises that we can't probably keep!" Bulma told him. "What? You have money, so can't you just-"
Seeing that this was her time to leave, Brier bid everyone goodbye and walked back to her husband and Whis, who had a bag filled with food that the chefs made for them personally. The three deities left the planet and were now traveling through space with Whis in charge of taking them all home. During the ride, Brier fell asleep, causing Beerus to wrap his free arm around her body and to hold on tight, so that she didn't fall into the vacuum of space.

Beerus woke up to find himself in bed with Brier, whose back was facing him. Beerus softly smiled as he made an attempt to bring her body close to his for warmth. But then he sensed the energy of three deities nearby. What made it odd was that they were three people he wasn't expecting to see for a while. Letting out a low growl, Beerus got out of bed and put on his shoes, ready to confront the trio near his planet. The destroyer made sure to silently close the door so that he didn't wake up Brier. As he was walking through the hallway, he made contact with Whis.
"You can sense it too, right?" Beerus asked. "Yes, I can." Whis answered. "Take me to him, now." Beerus ordered. Whis nodded and used his staff to transport the two off planet. They were now in front of the three unexpected visitors. He was primarily looking at his twin, Champa, with annoyance.
"I've heard of people getting lost, but you're taking it to new heights." Beerus said. "Ha! So you're awake for once, guess there is such a thing as miracles!" Champa said as a slight jest. "You wanna go?!" Beerus nearly shouted, but then he decided to take a minute to calm down. The sooner he can get this over with, the better. "You're in the 7th universe, Champa. Surely you know that as a Destroyer god of the 6th universe, you have no business being here." Beerus told him.
"Will you relax? We were just taking a short cut. Honestly, why do you feel the need to be such a stickler?" Champa said. "How Brier puts up with you, I'll never know." "What was that?" Beerus asked darkly. A woman with bright pink hair noticed Beerus' tone and was quick to jump in. "Please do forgive Lord Champa, Lord Beerus. He didn't mean anything by it." she said, trying to calm him down.
"And you're sure about that?" Beerus asked. "Of course! You know how he is sometimes, saying things without thinking."
"Camellia!" Champa shouted, his cheeks turning pink. "What?" Camellia said, genuinely confused. Not wanting this to take any longer, Beerus asked, "So what's the reason why you came?" "I told you already, the three of us were going on a stroll!" Champa declared loudly.
"If you say so. C'mon Whis, let's go back." Beerus told his angel. "Right away sir." Whis said. "W- Wait, that's it? You're just. . .gonna let it go like that?" Champa asked, shocked. "I'm a bit too tired to care at the moment. Just be glad that I am letting this go and not keeping you here for an interrogation." Beerus said as Whis took them back home.
Beerus and Whis both went their separate ways. The angel went to his room for some much needed alone time while Beerus went back to Brier's room so he could sleep next to her again. But as he opened the door, Beerus was shocked to see that she wasn't in the bed. He looked all over the room to find her, but she was no where in sight. Where was she?
The destroyer's ears picked up the sound of Brier humming a gentle tune, so he followed the sound to learn where she was. It led him straight to the bathroom, and as he opened the massive metal door, he was met with the sight of a naked Brier in the bathing pool. She stopped humming when she heard the door opening and closing, and turned her head to see Beerus by edge of the pool.
"Oh! You're back. Do you want to join me?" she asked, stretching out her wet hand for him to take if he wanted. Beerus nodded and removed every article of clothing he had on and took Brier's hand, joining her in the bath. He wrapped his arms around her body and brought her close to him, her back touching his chest. "So, who was here?" Brier asked. "My annoying brother Champa." Beerus mumbled, placing his chin on her bare shoulder.
"Really? For what reason did he decide to visit Universe #7?"
"I don't know. He said that he was going for a stroll, but I know that he was lying. He's up to something that he doesn't want me to know about."
"Beerus! Why must you always assume that he's up to something?"

"Vados, how many have we collected so far?" Champa asked. "So far, we have five in total." Vados answered. "And based on our luck so far, the last two will be much harder to find, yes?" Camellia asked. "It's possible." Vados said.
"That means that we have to be more careful from now on." Champa told them. "I don't want Beerus or Whis finding out that we're almost done with getting the Super Dragon Balls!"

AN: And that's a wrap on Book One! Thanks to those who stuck around to see how this would go! And in case you were wondering, I did make a picrew of what "Monty" will look like, from here on out, though it's as close as I could get anyway: please ignore the human ears and pretend that they are elf ears and that his hair is straight. As for the purple paint and the blood? Let's just say that he got a bit creative when designing his mask's look.
I'll do proper designs for all of the original characters at some point in the future when I can draw digitally.

A DBS MANGA CHAPTER 102 REVIEW. KINDA...
Some stuff about chapter 102 of the DBS manga I don't really like/I want to quickly discuss. Meant to post this last month but didn't. I'm behind on a lot of things.
All those folks saying True UI is Goku's strongest form... The upcoming chapter says otherwise. Goku uses the silver haired UI form & Beerus apparently views that as Goku at his strongest. Heck, Goku calls it his best move. Good job Toyo for creating True UI (black hair) and confusing fans to believe that was stronger than Mastered UI (silver hair) when in reality True UI is simply UI Sign (black hair) that changed how UI works so it matches more closer to how the anime depicted the technique. UI Omen in the anime allowed Goku to use his emotions, but the more control he has over them, the stronger he becomes until he transforms into Mastered UI. UI Sign in the manga was depicted as Goku needing to be emotionless & stated that emotions hinder the power. This was from the ToP Saga all the way until Toyotaro "created" True UI to function off of controlled emotions like how the DBS anime always has & gave it Omen the name "True Ultra Instinct." [Link to a long post that I paraphrased, so you ain't gotta read it unless you're really interested.]
Tumblr media
I get tired of the same expressions in this Super Hero Saga. Its a pouty or surprised face accompanied with an oval shaped mouth. Toyotaro is overusing the hell out of that. Here's a compilation & I left out like 4 other panels with this same expression. (There's more in CH 103)
Tumblr media
I saw ppl talking about the poses when Goku & Gohan fight look cool.... Looks pretty stiff imo. At least from what I've seen. Lacks a feel of movement. And you don't even see most of the fight. It doesn't make it cool imo. We've seen MUI in action against powerful opponents. If MUI Goku & Beast Gohan are close to equal strength, why not show actual combat between the two other than the aftermath of clashes? There was more attention to choreography with Gohan vs Trunks & Goten than there is with Gohan vs Goku. (Chapter 103 does better with the combat for Goku vs Gohan)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Toyotaro doing the "this form is called such & such" is weird for me. Seems like he's trying to hype up Western fans or something. Like when Goten & Trunks name Gohan's potential unleashed form "Ultimate." Its just dialogue for the sake of some sort of fanservice. Some ppl will like it, others wont. I just wasn't a fan of it. Feels like its placed here just for fanservice. If they called it ultimate & didn't draw too much attention to it, I would've prefered that. Its naming it but not stopping the narrative flow.
Tumblr media
Also wasn't a fan of Goku asking Gohan is his new power was SSJ2 or SSJ3. Goku knows dang well Gohan's Potential Unleashed form is far stronger than SSJ2 & was stronger than SSJ3. He should've just asked "So, what's this form of yours?" and leave it there.
Tumblr media
Some Vegeta fans are calling him a proud uncle when he smiles at Gohan & Goku about to spar. No, he is a Saiyan who is ready to see a good fight just as Broly smiled when he watched Goku & Vegeta fight. Is there some pride there? Yes. But Vegeta ain't no uncle figure to Gohan. That's Piccolo & Krillin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why are Carmine & Soldier 15 there on Beerus' planet? Goku could have just had his sons & Trunks put a hand on his shoulder then teleported. And why would Gohan see Carmine & 15 who shot at his home & at him, turn Beast out of anger, then hop into the same vehicle as them as if he forgot what happened in the last chapter? It was literally a few seconds ago.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was just for them to record Goten & Trunks in their costumes (can they even keep up with how fast they are moving?) And it just seems like a plot device that won't matter at all. Anyone remember 7-3 in the Granolah Saga?was there for a moment & served no purpose other than a reference. I bet this with Carmine is for a simple joke to be quickly thrown aside.

Resurrection ‘F’ rewrite/tweaking
Written March 15, 2022 (clearing drafts lol)
Noticed that this is generally regarded as the worst of the Super era movies and the worst arc in Dragon Ball Super
So I wanted to see if a few tweaks would make it more enjoyable and didn’t know where to share it so just thought to post it here
It'll mostly be a mix of the movie version and the anime version as I don’t want to go too fanfictiony
Notes, changes, and mergers
Frieza force reviving Frieza with the dragon balls stays the same
This would have Frieza still train with Tagoma like in the anime so he can be stronger than Goku
Tumblr media
The anime version of Goku and Vegeta being in that void to acquire God energy would happen during the months Frieza was training to parallel both sides getting stronger
Tumblr media
By the time Frieza and his army head to earth Goku and Vegeta are still training with Whis
Then the regular sparring we see them do with Whis would be during the invasion like the movie
For the invasion Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Tien, Master Roshi, and Jaco are the initial fighters like before
Tumblr media
In the anime version if this story I would add that Chiaotzu would be left behind similar to how Tien said and Gohan would mention that Goten and Trunks don’t know what’s going either as they’re not ready/mature
And I would add a small thing where Chiaotzu and Videl would monitor the boys and when the fighting starts instead of just flying away like in the anime they would be met with some resistance by the pair
So the Goten Trunks Chiaotzu Videl would be a subplot to make the arc longer
Android 18 just didn’t want to join lol plus had to watch her daughter
The battle against the army happens like the movie (animation and pacing etc) so without much of the Krillin afraid subplot but still elements of it as it added some depth to his character and they divide to better their odds
And a small thing of maybe Gohan being more in the lead to help build his role as the third strongest fighter of the Z fighters similar to the manga version of him later and giving him a Sanji role to Goku and Vegeta’s Luffy and Zoro
Army fight
As it goes on Roshi gets tired first like usual and a fun addition would be to have Yamcha come and assist saying sorry he's late he was further away than the others
Tumblr media
Adding Yamcha as I don’t buy he’s that much below Krillin and Tien in power especially when Roshi was here plus it would give him a hero moment but he can still be played with for laughs as he wouldn’t last much better than Krillin and Tien
Tumblr media
Krillin getting tired as well stays here with Gohan assisting like in the movie
But when they've beaten the fodder they can't afford to use Senzu beans for stamina as they don't have that many to give
Let’s say they have about 4 beans and there’s currently have 7 fighters and Bulma spectating
This would leave Sisami, Tagoma, and Frieza (with Sorbet) as the main fighters left
Lieutenants
They sense the other two energy and get the range that Sisami is 3rd strongest and Tagoma 2nd to Frieza’s 1st
Tien elects himself to take on Sisami
Piccolo does the same with Tagoma
Gohan was going to help fight but someone like Roshi suggests to save himself for Frieza and recovers stamina just in case Goku and Vegeta don’t make it in time
Meanwhile in the anime version Chiaotzu is using his psychic powers to slow down Goten and Trunks which allows Videl to fight them on a more even playing field to force them to not go join the fight and it works as Videl is a better martial artist than the boys individually, eventually Chiaotzu can’t hold them and they power through and beat Videl and get what they want and start to head to the fight
Piccolo is doing fine with Tagoma, Tagoma is stronger than Piccolo but nothing too concerning at first as Piccolo technique and physiology keeps him in the fight
But Tien was doing ok with Sisami at first but starts to get overwhelmed which leads to Krillin and Yamcha helping Tien making it 3 on 1
A combo attack with the three maybe even Roshi assisting in a turtle school Kamehameha let’s Tien land the knock out blow
(Maybe new technique, maybe TriBeam, doesn’t matter too much but he’s known to have something to show off with)
Piccolo starts to get overwhelmed as the humans defeat Sisami then Goten and Trunks come and after begging to Bulma and Gohan they get the ok to fight as long as they’re fused
In the anime Gotenks joins and with SSJ3 they tip the scales in their favor
Seeing Super Saiyan starts to irritate Frieza
They do a charging volley ball fist combo assisted by Tien and Piccolo (Tien passes, Piccolo sets, Gotenks spikes) to land a big hit on Tagoma
But as the kids get too overconfident by celebrating early Tagoma tries a surprise attack but Gohan punches him similar to how he defeated Sisami in the movie and does the mercy thing as he’s not going to kill them that gets Frieza upset like in the anime version
Tumblr media
in the movie version Gohan would save Piccolo by going Super Saiyan getting a similar reaction from Frieza when he defeats Tagoma
Frieza Round 1
Frieza then gets out and ready to fight and Gohan gets ready as Goku and Vegeta aren’t here still
They’re still sparring and get closer to when Whis is aware as his staff blinks but gets distracted by Beerus like usual
Super Saiyan Gohan against First Form Frieza for a little and Piccolo and others comment that it would be a lot to reach super saiyan 2 for Gohan who hasn’t trained much
Then as Frieza is entertained he transformed into his final/4th form Gohan fights him and struggles immensely
As he gets more frustrated Gohan reaches Super Saiyan 2 through his rage and does a better job than before but still not winning as Frieza is still stronger with him
Tumblr media
Because of later in Super I wouldn't have him go Ultimate here as it eventually becomes his God equivalent so he'll cap out at SSJ2 here
And just in time Bulma starts to get in touch with Whis and demands Goku and Vegeta and to get there via need instant transmission
Piccolo comments on how Gohan needs to go all out to have their power stand out
And as they all power up, Gohan on his last legs ready to go down fighting, Goku and Vegeta show up via instant transmission
Frieza Round 2
As Gohan passes out Goku says he’s proud and etc and then the main fight begins
Tumblr media
And to shake things up for my version Vegeta fights Frieza revealing super saiyan blue
And the two fight evenly for awhile but Vegeta dominates him like original as time goes
youtube
(This truly doesn’t matter as I know marketing and such wise Goku needs to fight Frieza but I don’t really care as we’ve seen Goku fight a little with the sparring)
The same time thing happened with Frieza blowing up the planet
Maybe iIn this version since Vegeta doesn’t let his guard down like Goku, maybe he was so ‘tense’ and arrogant that as he was focusing on Frieza he ignored Sorbet (a weakling) who shoots someone like Bulma or Trunks or even someone like Yamcha which distracts him long enough for Frieza to blow the planet up
Whis rewinds time as even though it feels cheap and lowers the stakes and etc. I do think it adds some consequence as Frieza did win and Goku and Vegeta didn’t learn their lesson
Again can mostly stay the same as the movie
Frieza Round 3
Then Goku comes in and steals the win lol
This can be like Dragon Ball Z Kakarot where it was a beautiful beat down and gives Goku a more pretty win as well as giving the required Goku vs Frieza
youtube
Around 3:53
And the movie ends like canon
Summary
So essentially I included more characters to give characters time to shine
Jaco and Roshi shine against the army
Krillin Tien and Yamcha against Sisami
Piccolo (and Gotenks(Goten and Trunks) in the anime version) against Tagoma with Gohan getting a win (and the boys being comedic relief)
Videl and Chiaotzu do something lol and add a C plot temporarily with Goten and Trunks
And Gohan shines as he's the strongest fighter on Earth and showcases how strong Frieza is before Goku and Vegeta shows as it establishes power levels better
Like everyone is stronger than the army even Roshi and Jaco
Sisami is a little above whatever you would give the humans power level is (people say named Frieza, just stronger than the Ginyu force but a little less than Frieza, even saw that some say they're around Cell level by the time of Super as they have to keep being somewhat relative to Goku)
Piccolo and Gotenks are stronger than Sisami and their SSJ3 level Tagoma is slightly stronger than that and then Gohan as a Super Saiyan is stronger than/or on par with that
(Went more for the movie version of Gohan as that version was by far the strongest and would need to keep him above Gotenks)
But Gohan SSJ is below first form Frieza, SSJ2 is more on par maybe above, final form is above that and ultimate above/on par with that, and Golden Frieza above that
I think it adds the seesaw in power levels that sagas like Saiyan, Frieza, and Cell sagas do just in a much shorter time
As it was back and forth between the hero's being stronger and the opposition being stronger in this version
Vs everyone being weaker than Frieza and everyone is stronger than the army except for one with Gohan being able to challenge that lone exception depending on the version
Plus it kinda gives off the impression that Gohan might be able to win as he’s the one to keep breaking his limits to contend with Frieza and feel relief when Goku and Vegeta get there as he just couldn’t quite do it.
So yeah I think power wise it doesn’t affect universe 6 tournament too much as Gohan wouldn’t be there
Future Trunks arc is unaffected
And for tournament of power, Gohan can still have to regain the ultimate power or at least train it now, maybe they wouldn’t skip Yamcha so blatantly but could just write that he never got a chance for ask or for them to ask him
Krillin Tien and Roshi show how strong they are relative to the others before they go on a long break as are still not on the saiyans and Piccolos level
Power level scale
SSJB Goku, SSJB Vegeta, Golden Frieza
Ultimate Gohan, Frieza (4th Form)
SSJ2 Gohan, Frieza (1st Form), SSJ Gohan, SSJ3 Gotenks
Tagoma, Piccolo, Gotenks SSJ, Gotenks
Sisami, Tien, Krillin, Yamcha
Roshi, Jaco, Chiaotzu, Videl
Frieza Soldiers
Update July 23, 2024
Did do some quick typo fixes and had to replace the kakarot gameplay as the original link I had was dead
Would sta over time and hearing other say it
I think my small change rewrites would be that SSJB would just SS God and save blue for the Universe 6 tournament
But I get that would go against selling new toys and such but seeing SSG Vegeta would be worth it
Again heard many DBZ YouTubers say this but I did have similar thoughts years ago but don't want to be accused of stealing lol

How Toriyama/Toyotaro salvaged "End of Z"
Tumblr media
Let me start this post with a personal confession that may or may not be unpopular: I have very little interest in Dragon Ball DAIMA. I have slightly more than I used to after Akira Toriyama's death since I am naturally curious to see what the last Dragon Ball related material he ever produced is like, but otherwise it still looks like just a different take on Dragon Ball GT, my least favorite Dragon Ball series, except that more characters than just Goku turn young and it's the Demon Realm that's being explored instead of space. It also doesn't help that the head writer, Yuko Kakihara, makes me nervous - she's done fine work as an episodic script writer on anime such as Fresh Pretty Cure, My Bride is a Mermaid, and Pokémon Journeys, and she was fantastic as the head writer of IRODUKU: The World in Color. But in terms of shows closer to what Dragon Ball DAIMA seems like, she was head writer on that god-awful Stitch anime that Disney stupidly allowed to be made. Worse still, she was the writer of Digimon Adventure Tri. So you can understand why I have reservations.
Point is, I consider Dragon Ball DAIMA to be a sideshow, regardless of what its merits may end up being. For me personally, it's the manga/anime trilogy of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super that really counts the most. And as tragic as the circumstances behind the end of Toriyama's involvement on the latter are, I am highly impressed what he and his mangaka protégée Toyotaro were able to accomplish. With three major steps, they have substantially retconned the notoriously underwhelming ending of the original manga series and DBZ anime, known as "End of Z" among fans, in a way that makes a satisfying closure.
The first step was way back in Dragon Ball Online. Toriyama was involved back then in canonically mapping out the future of the Dragon Ball world, long after Goku, his friends and his family have passed away. And a major part of that was how Gohan, Goten, Trunks and Pan affected that world for the better in their adult lives. Gohan in particular has a masterful end to his long struggle between being a fighter and being a scholar by becoming a scholar on ki fighting techniques, publishing a study that makes it widely possible for humans around the world to master ki control and gain flight and energy blasts. It's a perfect outcome for him.
The second step was through Toriyama's involvement in the new movies and Super series. End of Z now cannot happen the way it was presented in the original manga and anime. There are way too many discrepancies, from character appearances, the lack of certain characters who it would make little sense not to be there, and details like "none of Goku's friends saw him for 5 years before then" which have now been completely contradicted. Obviously the 28th Budokai where Goku meets Uub and takes him under his wing for training is still canon, but that event is now free to transpire in a far more plausible and satisfactory way than the famously rushed, haphazard and OOC way in which it was depicted before.
The third and final step was the last collaboration between Toriyama and Toyotaro in the Super manga. The final three chapters they worked on together were an epilogue to the story of the Super Hero film, actually tying its plot together with the side plot featuring Goku and Vegeta on Beerus' planet. Perhaps responding to prevalent criticisms, the movie had already made a major point of showing how the world can still be successfully defended by the Z Fighters even without Goku and Vegeta being there. And in these three chapters, the point is carried even further by having Goku test what the new generation is capable of, a theme that's even reflected in the final chapter's title, "Passing On To The Future". This completely recontextualizes End of Z. Originally made as a laughable attempt to salvage the "Goku passing the torch" direction with Uub in place of Gohan after Toriyama botched it so badly with him, now it makes Uub only the latest in a large field of fighters that includes Gohan. Now it's Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Pan, even Broly of all people, who are being gathered as Earth's next line of defense once Goku and Vegeta finally expire. Uub will join that group. (Oh, and being Namekian, both Piccolo and Dende will still be around to assist, of course.)
So while the narrative of Dragon Ball may have peaked with the Cell Saga, now the Majin Buu Saga -> Battle of Gods Saga -> Resurrection F Saga -> Universe 6 Saga -> Future Trunks / Goku Black Saga -> Universe Survival Saga -> Broly Saga -> Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga -> Granolah the Survivor Saga -> Super Hero Saga -> End of Z together create a worthier follow-up than just the Majin Buu Saga -> End of Z was back in the day. Certainly not perfect, even when leaving the loose ends out of it (so Freeza's just gonna stay loose out there with a new ultimate form?), but feeling much closer to a fully realized ending.
Thank you, Toriyama. You made it up as you went along right to the very end, but as usual, your remarkable creative talent managed to make it all fit together. You are deeply missed.

1) Scenario: Due to some time travel shenanigans, Robin!Dick travels forward in time and he runs into Mar’i and Jake while they were on a case together. How do you think it goes from there?
2) Who are Chris, Jon and Jake’s favorite anime characters?
3) Can you see Chris and Jai challenging each other to a race and like Barry Allen, Jai holding back his true speed extensively?
4) Is Zod Chris’ Archnemesis in Earth 66?
5) the following you may ignore if it makes you uncomfortable;
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest,
How sensitive to tickle attacks are Mar’i, Chris, Jon and Jake?
Good questions! (1 & 4 is gonna be long XD)
Before I answer #1 I want to do some background info: After Time Commander (Super-Sons villain) got humiliated & jailed by Jake, Mar’i & Nightwing (mar’i burned his outfit leaving him naked & Jake gave him a wedgie). He busted out after a week & went back in time to make sure the kids weren’t born by killing Nightwing. (Note: Nightwing & Starfire went on a honeymoon, so it’s just Jake & mar’i by themselves for a few days). Time Commander (John Starr) found a newly trained Robin roaming the streets for a test for Batman. But the kid was tougher than he looks, Starr had a sore jaw & a sore crotch & both fell into a portal going back to the future & he ran away to rethink strategy. Robin (Dick Grayson) tried to find him but instead found two twins fighting a group of thugs.
1: Mar’i & Jake were trying to solve the mysterious case of the Tally Mark Slasher (hint hint 😉) (also Jake was wearing a Robin outfit for the giggles) when they met Robin & realize that he was their dad when he was their age & tried their best not to mess up the timeline. So the three of them decided to help each other’s problems & send Robin back to the past. (Without revealing too much info about themselves) After a few hours kicking butt & interrogation thugs, they managed to find the killer himself, frozen in time: Victor Zsasz, & Time Commander himself stealing money (cause reasons XD) the three of them mange to stop Time Commander & put him in handcuffs for the cops. Before Robin leaves back to his time, he has something to ask:
Robin (Dick Grayson): How important is me being Robin?
Jake: really important! hundreds of sidekicks wouldn’t exist without your influence, & all thanks to you, we are able to live because of you, you gave everybody hope! You’re the heart of sidekicks.
Mar’i: yeah, what he said.
The three hugged before Robin goes back to the past…….Victor Zasasz was freed from time freeze & was in handcuffs, confused on why his pants were around his ankles, underwear pulled up from his butthole, & some childish drawings were on him; especially a Robin symbol on his chest. (*wipes sweats on forehead* darn I need a break XD)
2: Chris: Gohan, future trunks, gogeta, broly (dbz), Tokoyami, deku, shoto, Ochaco ( my hero academia), Obito, naruto, Kakashi, mintato, sasuke (Naruto)
Jon: Goku, (canon) goten, gotenks, gogeta, future trunks, hit. (DB) naruto (canon) sasuke, itachi, rock Lee (naruto) izuku, bakugo, all-might, shoto, (MHA) Luffy, ace, sabo, zoro, & chopper (one piece).
Jake: goku, gohan, vegito, cabba, broly. (Dbz) naruto, itachi, pain, (naruto) izuku, dabi, twice, all-might (MHA) luffy, sanji, chopper (One Piece).
3: yup XD & when Jai decided to use his speed full power he decides to taunt Chris either: pulling down his lower eyelid & sticks tongue out, gives the middle finger(s), show his bare butt & spanks it (maybe kisses his hand first) or saying meep meep! & speeds off leaving Chris in the dust.
4: yes, but as a one off villain, let me explain: I do like the idea of zod escaping from the Phantom Zone years later instead of a few days (great idea bud) but instead of joining zod because of his “background,” Chris was a sleeper agent (in my universe).
When space pirate Amalak (from new earth’s Superman comics) invades earth (when Chris was 12) to hunt down Kryptonians, he accidentally triggers Chris’s “sleeper agent code”: zod. (By telling Chris he looks just like him) days later, at night, Chris sneaks off to the fortress of solitude & frees zod & 30 other kryptonian criminals from the zone, kneeling to them.
The next day, zod & the criminals did an invasion in Metropolis. (As seen in the Last Son book) the superfamily (Clark, Kara, Karen, Kon, Jon 11, & krypto)the justice league, Young Titans, & the special police force with kryptonite weapons defends the city; The only kryptonians left were zod & Chris (Some were taken down non-lethally & the rest killed). After seeing NightStar gets trapped by broken buildings, Chris breaks free from his programming, & unleashed a power nobody ever seen before: Dark Phantom mode.
(In my universe, after a beaten by his dad, Chris was thrown outside the prison where he was born, slowly dying from the pain, when suddenly, a mystical blue dragon called NightWing (who created the zone in my universe; a myth) appeared out of nowhere & went into his body as pure energy to heal him & gave him unique abilities that needed to be unlocked somehow.)
Chris (in the present) with Superman, fought Zod (a less brutal version of the invincible vs conquest fight) & snaps zod’s neck (like man of steel) using his darkness powers to save Superman from being killed. Chris screamed in pain & sadness, being comforted by his “dad” Superman. A fe days later, Superman takes Chris in outer space saying you belong here, you belong. Then, they went back down to earth to their home in Hamilton county & did a big group hug with his “family.”
5: since they’re kids, probably between 8-10; on the feet, stomach, rib cage, & on the thighs when grabbed.
Whew! That took a while. Let me know if you got more questions buddy! :D

Cookies and Beasts (DBS)
Warning: Fluff, You making Vegeta soft
Halloween is strange...
✨✨✨✨✨✨
“Hey, you, calm down,” Gohan chuckled, tickling at your side.
At the moment, you were looking at his friends in confusion.
Piccolo and 18 were the only ones who looked normal.
The one your papa addresses as Krillin had painted his face and wore a weird outfit.
Auntie Bulma (she insists to be called) had wild hair and an even wilder outfit, her eyes were different colors, too.
Uncle Vegeta (Bulma insisted simply to annoy him) was forced to wear a beard, hat, and a dress-like thing. Papa said he was a wizard, whatever that was. Vegeta would hit people randomly with a big stick he carried.
Then Trunks and uncle Goten had strange teeth and even stranger clothes.
All the confusion caused your power-level to spike.
“Isn’t this [Name]’s first Halloween?” Auntie Bulma offered a cookie, which you gladly took.
“Yeah, I don’t think they've gotten over the costumes, yet,” he bounced his leg a little to calm you.
“Well, [Name]’s is definitely the cutest!”
You were dressed as a pumpkin, the puffy costume hiding you, the pumpkin top resting on your head.
“Videl picked it out.”
“I guess that’s why you’re dressed as a farmer? Where is Videl, anyway?”
“She wasn’t feeling well, but told us to go ahead.
Your eyes trailed to your sister, who was dressed similar to how Paw Goku dressed, things Papa called fake knives were in her hands as she made weird movements.
“Hey, Gohan. I found this weird device, I can’t seem to figure out what it does, could you take a look at it?”
“Huh? Sure.”
“Great! I’ll bring it out,” she walks off.
You offer your cookie to your father, tilting your head back until he looks down.
“You’re giving me some?”
“Yes,” you give him a small smile.
“Thank you, sweet pea.”
“Oo Welca,” you watch as he takes a bite, a little irked he takes more than you expected.
“You mean, ‘You're Welcome’? Don’t worry, you’ll get the hang of it.”
You decide to leave, so he doesn’t practically devour your cookie with another bite.
You wobble up to Vegeta, making him turn, “Oh, it’s you. The finger crusher.”
You ignore his glare, not finding it intimidating in the least, even more so with his costume.
“Hi!” you smile.
“What is it you want?”
You grasp the dress-like costume finding you like the simple material.
“Soft. Dwess?”
“What, no. It is not a dress!”
You tilt your head.
“It’s a robe.”
“Bobe?” the ‘r’ was hard to pronounce.
“Yes, not a dress,” he scowled.
You move on to the big stick, “Stick?”
“Staff,” he corrected.
“Taff?”
“Yes.”
You offer your cookie, “Wan?”
“No, thank you.”
You take the last bite, “Cookie good.”
“Is it now, would you like another?” he points back to a tray full of cookies on a decorated table.
You nod, grabbing at the air until he picks you up (after being sure no one was looking to laugh for weeks about it), you quickly grab a cookie (he doesn’t say anything when you sneak another).
“Dank you, Geta!”
“Yeah, yeah. Move along now.”
“Bye!”
You notice Paw Goku arriving with Mam Chi-Chi.
You giggle, dashing over to them as fast as your short legs would allow.
“Our little [Name]! You look so cute!” Chi-Chi titters picking you up.
You give her a kiss, which makes her notice the cookie crumbs and two uneaten cookies.
“How many cookies have you eaten? Have you eaten any food yet?”
You lift the cookies, “Yes.”
“That’s not food! Gohan should let you…” then you tune her out, you always do when she goes into her rambles.
“What cookies you got there?”
“Paw Goku, cookies!”
“I see. Can I try one?”
You get transferred over to him as Mam Chi-Chi looks for Papa.
“Yes,” he offer him one while eating the other.
“Yum! They are pretty good, huh?”
You brush a pinky against his green face, “Why?”
“It’s paint! I’m a Frankenstein!”
“Flank—hm,” you decided it was too hard to say.
“Mwahaha,” he tickles your neck making you giggle with a death grip on your cookie.
“Paw Goku, staph—” you screeched in laughter.
“Let’s go find, Gohan, hm?”
You sit on his shoulders as you look for your father, when you do, he seems to looked annoyed as Mam Chi- Chi chews into him.
“Mom, I know what to do with [Name].”
“But…” she rants some more.
“I’ll come back later,” Bulma looks in between them.
Gohan sighs, “No, you asked for my help. Let me see.”
“Gohan!” Mam Chi-Chi scolds.
He observes the device before turning it on, it didn’t do anything.
She reached for the device, “Don’t ignore your mother!”
Suddenly Papa’s power-level spiked and he transformed.
The power startled you, never having seen or felt anything like that before.
He growled, in irritation, “Stop telling me how to parent my child. If I want help, I’ll ask, mom.”
You cry at the scene, never seeing your Papa so upset.
“I see, it’s an emotion amplifier,” Auntie Bulma observed.
Gohan frowned at your crying, his expression dropping more when you nervously grip Paw Goku’s hair.
“Sweet Pea, it’s me,” he powered down, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you…”
You quieted, sniffing before you climbed down your grandfather, wobbling to your Pa to hug his legs.
“Hm, let’s go play some of the games, okay? Will that cheer you up?”
You nod.

⚠️ Note: This post is about Dragon Ball Super, and is written mostly for recap and research purposes, but it involves a few real-life related topics and will be pretty long so you should treat this like a blog post. If you’re comfortable with this and still curious to see what this is all about, keep your mind open and let’s go! 🤓
MY THOUGHTS/CONTROVERSIAL TAKE ON THE CURRENT STATE OF DRAGON BALL SUPER and DRAGON BALL FRANCHISE AS A WHOLE, AND THOUGHTS OF THE FUTURE OF THE BRAND
- PART 1: INTRODUCTION OF THE COMICS and TIMELINES -
1. INTRODUCTION:
Hello everyone, if this is your first time seeing me on your dashboard, my name is Kah and I’m an artist who have been working on a Dragon Ball webcomic named “Trunks and Goten in High school AU”, starring Goten and Trunks since 2021 and is still ongoing.
It’s used to appear on Google a lot until the current arc of Super happened, and Elon Musk’s decision to deleted the Moment feature on Twitter (that was the main link that mostly appeared on Google about my comic). It’s an art project that I’ve been letting it sleep inside my head for ~20 years and finally decided to manifest it into existence while infusing my style in it, until it got unexpectedly “canonized” by the Dragon Ball Super creators in late 2022 while the project is still in the beginning stage, in a way that I couldn’t predict it.
It changed everything afterwards of course. For both myself and the fandom, and maybe, the impact of this will be bigger than we think it will be 🤔
I know there’s nothing for you to believe in what I’m about to say, and I won’t force you to believe them too, of course, you have no obligation to do that. That’s exactly why you should try and read this and decide of what to think yourself, it can be something quite worthwhile.
The time this blog post is written is in January the 3rd, 2023. The incident was in December 2022, I will include timelines and many other articles down below, as well as images for you to see things more clearly. For the current me, this post is a recap for research purposes, and since I’ll be using myself and my work as an example, there’ll be some unwanted personal feelings unconsciously mixed in, but I’ll try to keep my mind as most neutral as possible.
You’re about to read my real thoughts on the current arc of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero since chapter 88, the similarity of my webcomic in it and many other deeper things, as well as my theory/glimpse at future of Dragon Ball franchise as a whole. I hope this read would be entertaining to you.
2. THE TIMELINE:
Before we get into the main topic, here’re some of my character designs and background visuals for my webcomic. If you can, read through some chapters as well, it’s not much but it will give you an idea of what to come next.
Ok so the first question to ask is, when did my webcomic project start? I say it’s around May 2021, in the midst of the Covid-era, when mostly everyone was quarantined at their homes. This webcomic art project is drawn so I can practice my drawing, storytelling and creative writing skills. It’s an indie project through and through, that takes a lot of time, effort and love. I don’t profit much from it tho, I mean my patreon is even opened in August last year and I didn’t even promote it much on any social media platform other than Twitter sometimes. So yes, the main purposes of it were mostly what I wrote above.
When did the current arc of Super start? Since 20th, December 2022. After the Granolah arc of the Dragon Ball Super manga ended, this is the arc that is currently running: the Super Hero arc. In appearances, there’re a bit of similar vibes from the manga and my webcomic in 2021, and while it may sound farfetched and like false accusation for everyone else, my intention is not exactly aiming towards that, it aims for something lying deeper. This is just the tip of the iceberg, that I would analyze and share a bit of it with you. Like I said, I would try my best to write it out as neutrally as possible.
From here on out, I’ll begin to list the entire timeline that leads to the current state:
- The last time Goten and Trunks appeared as main characters in canon was almost 30 years ago, I was talking about the Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT versions. Goten and present Trunks were not favored characters by fans, even when they have a small fanbase and have some fanworks throughout the years, they were still mostly listed as a funny dumb duo and unmarketable by the franchise. This leads to these two characters not being developed and touched upon by their creators for many years, because Toriyama is the type of artist that would draw because he likes it, yes, but he would cater to the masses of fans more (for example, a lot of his decision in the writing of Dragon Ball was suggested to alter into something else that fit the general audience more and he would mostly agreed, like his desire for Gohan to be the main character after the Cell arc, but Goku was brought back into the picture due to his iconic popularity and flat-character type, and that’s how we got 30 years of Goku’s journey). (what is a flat character: here)
This personality of his would later have a hand in him selling his ownership and license of Dragon Ball to Shueisha (main license holder), Toei (animation license holder) and Bandai (merchandise license holder). Akira Toriyama is the creator in name only, but big decisions are not depended on him. He’s pretty much like Stan Lee - the creator of Spider Man, but all the copyrights and licenses are hold by Marvel.
- In late 2019, I decided to re-picked up the Dragon Ball manga due to nostalgia. While remembering about my love for Goten and Trunks and seeing the lacked of content for them. Being forgotten by their own creators for unjustified reasons, I decided to write and draw my own story for Goten and Trunks, and published it to the internet since May 2021 on many social media platforms, but Twitter is where I’m the most active. And Twitter is the main international platform for many official account of Japanese brands, including manga, anime and of course, Dragon Ball.
- Any loyal Dragon Ball fans in the fandom community will know they mostly love the Toriyama style, and most will try to make their fan works in his style to honor him and the show itself (and will get more attention from other fans). And even though my webcomic is not as favorable as other Toriyama style fan arts and fanseries/fancomic due to the personal unique art style (I have my own drawing style) and differences in tone and storytelling (while the show mostly veers in the humor/gag/action direction, mine is more towards the dramatic/angsty/introspective side), it did raise the awareness to other fans in the community about the potential of the “forgotten half Saiyans”. Especially when two of my good friends that I usually talked and hyped with on Twitter are a Dragon Ball fanartist (@/amartbee) and a Dragon Ball content creator/YouTuber (@SLOplays) that always share official news of the show on his page, I included their handle names in here just for a few examples, in no way do I want to pull them in this whole mess of course. But anyway, both have a big following on Twitter, have big influences and love Dragon Ball.
- And they love my webcomic. The fanartist shared my webcomics a lot to her page and her community (blessed her), and while the content creator didn’t share it (except for a few times), he felt the love I have for Goten and Trunks that I put in my fan comics, and love them more and shared that feeling to his fans as well. So through my and their influences, the fans during the covid-era began to see the light on these characters, and want to see more of their potential as well as love them more. During this time, the Dragon Ball Super manga was in the Moro and Granolah arc, still focused on the journey of Goku and Vegeta defeating opponents in space, because they’re the fan-favorite, the icon of the brand for many years and Toei/Shueisha felt right to continue milking them for content and marketable purposes. Until the midst of 2021...
- After my webcomic started in summer of 2021 for a few months, the official account/website of Dragon Ball began to dropped the news of “DRAGON BALL SUPER: SUPER HERO” movie (in production) in late 2021. And everyone was curious over what’s this all about.
- Then in February 2022, we had the full key visual for DRAGON BALL SUPER: SUPER HERO movie like this. “That’s something we have never seen before right?”. Yes, indeed it was. It was. But everyone was ecstatic, including me.
Tumblr media
- During the time of the movie being in the production stage, several visuals and interviews from the animation staff member as well as Toriyama himself were published online, twitter was always the fastest of course. Toriyama said he wanted to make Piccolo as the main character for this movie only, but Toei wanted to include Gohan as the co-protagonist to lure in the Saiyan fans, which held the more dominant side of the fanbase. Hence why the movie had two protagonists that were Piccolo and Gohan. But the weird thing is, they decided to finally include the Super’s teenager version of Goten and Trunks this time. They were drawn by Toriyama, but I can tell based on how good he was as a character designer, Toriyama himself didn’t think much about their designs due to how simple they were. This made me feel like they were not at the forefront of his mind, and more like he was “told to do”.
Tumblr media
- When the movie was finally released across the globe from June 2022 until the rest of the year, we found out about the scene with Goten/Trunks was only about 2 minutes, and they did nothing major in the movie. This would later confirmed my theory of this movie being an experiment and a very clever survey from Toei to know the taste of the international fans at the time with characters other than Goku and Vegeta (because they had been milking them for almost 30 years and even when these two are still the icon, the taste of ithe fans have changed).
Tumblr media
Despite that, their 2 minutes on-screen was enough for me, my friends, our friends and followers/fans to expressed our love for these two through likes, shares, fanarts and everything else.
- During this time, I still worked on my passion project aka the Goten and Trunks webcomic series, and with a few fan arts mixed in along the way. Still hyped with my friends and followers as a fan on many social media platforms. Love them, the hype in this fandom is real.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- After the movie was aired for a few months, in August 2022 chapter 87 ended with a note from the editorial staff that said the manga would go on hiatus to prepared for the next arc. This would later confirm my theory of “this break” being the time when the whole franchise and “Dragon Ball” brand’s marketing/research department to check on the stats from the movie (that acted as a survey for international fans) to know which direction to go next.
Tumblr media
- Until August 2022, the official account/website of Dragon Ball dropped the visuals of the next arc, which included Goten and Trunks as super heroes, and this arc would be the arc before the Super Hero movie with them as the protagonists.
Tumblr media
This is when I began to feel a queasy feeling that whispered something like “that was... Odd. Good but... Odd”. Because from the beginning of Dragon Ball Super until now, it has always been a Goku and Vegeta’s journey to space, there was no build up, no anything to lead to Goten and Trunks being protagonists at this point. Below are some examples from the Moro arc, they still remained in kid’s forms like what they have been for so many years like this.
Tumblr media
- In November 2022, there’re leaks about the next arc of Dragon Ball Super aka chapter 88, and we found out this arc will focus on Trunks and Goten’s high school life, with Trunks as a protagonist and learn how to be a superhero.
Tumblr media
This was when everything came crashing down on my head, shattered my rose colored glasses and connected all the dots. I decided to wait a bit longer to confirm my theory by reading chapter 88 and see the content in it. While most of the fans were ecstatic, because they finally got what they wanted: Goten and Trunks finally got their spotlight in canon; I was feeling nervous more.
- In 20th December 2022, chapter 88 got released and while it caught the eye of many fans from both Japan and the international, the first chapter of the arc got mixed reviews due to it focuses too much on Trunks’s crush on Mai to the point of forcing readers to accept it. I wrote this thread right after reading chapter 88, giving out my prediction. And later today, it got confirmed by Toyotaro himself in an interview: he did intend to put in lots of romance in this arc.
Tumblr media
- But after all of this, I mostly saw the weird and lots of lots of “coincidence” in my theme and the Super manga theme. They are both alike, and TOTAL POLAR OPPOSITE. Imagine two similar (or same) products, but they are being produced under two different brands (in this case, it’s from a company vs a homemade one), with opposite directions and purposes.
We’ll continue the next part after this, it’ll dive deeper into the real life topics to emphasize my points and researchers. The theme of the next post aka part 2 will be:
THE CURRENT STATUS OF THE DRAGON BALL SUPER, THE RELATIONSHIP OF THE MANGA WITH FANS AND FANWORKS, AND THE FUTURE OF THE DRAGON BALL FRANCHISE AS A WHOLE
- end part 1 -

wait rephrasing the previous ask, what do you think of gohan as a character from buu saga to Z and after.
Tumblr media
obsessed with this AND gohan ive loved him since i was 9 i love him so fucking much hes my boy hes my baby hes my favorite db character on anyday when future trunks isnt fighting him for that spot. son gohan my fucking beloved. i think the thing with gohan is that he both likes to fight and doesn't and this fucks up db fans so much. gohan likes to fight casually, he likes martial arts just fine. he just doesn't like it when he's forced to do it because of evil or if causes major death and suffering, and he isn't as obsessed with it as goku and vegeta are (especially goku who he specifically says that he doesn't like fighting the way goku does).
he enjoyed being saiyaman and training goten for the world tournament, both of which were pretty low-stakes for someone like him vs goku who constantly looks for big opponents because he craves that fight to get stronger. his priority isn't to fight for the hell of it, which is totally fine. what i love about him is that even though he doesn't like to fight as much as goku does he WILL step up when needed and that showed in the cell fight and buu saga.
SPEAKING OF BUU SAGA. well mostly saiyaman and world tournament saga. i love gohan during these arcs please it was so much fun to watch him do silly things like be saiyaman and go to high school😭 he and videl are sooo cute and i just love the hilarity that videl falls in love with the kid whose win her dad took credit for HDHDJSJJS hes so silly. i love him.
Tumblr media
i do think he was severely underutilized in buu saga especially when he went ultimate vs buu and got his ass kicked. but in hindsight it is kind of funny. in db super he's sidelined again which is sad (i really do not care for goku and vegeta in super anymore JDJDJDHDHDH I WANT MY HALF SAIYANS) but i LOVE what the last movie (dbs super hero) did with him!! with goku and vegeta of course gohan doesn't feel the need to train so rigorously anymore and he can just be a nerd (affectionate) but i like how dbs gives him a reason to keep up, i.e. protecting pan. dbs super hero is def my favorite db movie so far i just 🥺 gohan and his baby girl....
Tumblr media
anyway tldr i love gohan and how kind and nerdy he is and even though he doesnt like fighting because of conflict he does step up when needed especially to protect the people he loves. i adore him. one of my forever boys fr. RIP toriyama you will be missed.

DB Fanfic made on franticfanfic so it's sloppily written LOL
@superduperdragonball and i both wrote it! squiggle marks ~ where we each leave off. ill let u guys (pointing at the screen) guess who wrote what part
THE POWER OF THE IPHONE
Prompt Characters: Piccolo and Bulma
Info: Set in Super Hero time, Piccolo just wants to fix his broken iphone and it leads to an unlikely scenario....
"Why isn't this thing working...?"
Tap Tap tap, Piccolo's nail hits his phone screen rapidly like a beginner playing Pikachu in Smash Bros. Three days prior, he dropped his Iphone 500 mid-flight and he remained unaware of the limits of current technology. His screen was cracked horribly and it had ceased function, staying frozen at his google search of "Best Romance Novels 2024".
"Tch. It looks like I'll have to ask Bulma for help." Piccolo groans. He flies off from home on his way to Capsule Corp.
Bulma is excited at the sight of her green friend greets him, "Piccolo?! How rare! It's been since the SUPER HERO stuff!"
~
Piccolo landed before crossing his arms over his chest.
"Don't assume this will be a more common occurance. I"m just here to fix my IPhone."
he pulled his torn to shreds IPhone out of his pocket and threw it towards the woman.
Barely catching it, Bulma balanced on her toes before settling with a sigh
"You ZFreaks never visit me just cause! It's always FIX THIS or FIND THE DRAGONBALLS with you guys! Why can't we just like- I dont know... Go BOWLING!"
...
"Bowling..?" Piccolo tilted his head
"Oh it's like... you throw a ball and hit pins." Bulma took out her pocket tool kit and started finnicking with the Phone
"Hm... Well, if it would please you I would go 'Bowling' with you. I figured it would be a fitting thank you for fixing the phone."
"Aw geez Piccolo! You know you dont owe anything. Just kidding, you do! Lets go bowling this weekend"
Bulma handed Piccolo his repaired Iphone before Trunks ran out and pointed at it and said
"Iphone"
~
piccolo mutters as he leaves, "Iphone...."
Timeskip to Saturday!!!!!!
Piccolo: Vegeta's here too...?
Vegeta: Don't get the wrong idea. Kakarott cancelled our dat- Our fight. our fight. Something about goten's band recital. I'm going to go for Day 2 of the concert tomorrow.
Bulma: Isn't this great!!!! I'll go get some pizza and you boys can hang out here.
Vegeta: .....
Piccolo: .....
Vegeta: ........ So you had that thing fixed?
Piccolo: ..? oh . oh yeah! Now I can play Suika game on my phone again (insert suika game music)
Vegeta: How stupi-......... Let me have a try.
Ten minutes later..
Bulma: Hey guys I'm back! Hope you like BBQ chicken pizza! Oh!
Vegeta: YES NEW HIGH SCORE!!!
Piccolo: Heh, not bad.
Bulma: wowww on they phonesssss let's start bowling
Bulma surprisingly does well at bowling. Okay people need to acknowledge she's not super weak like she can get around she seems a lil sporty at the very least OK!!!!
Piccolo; (panting) how does she get so many strikes
Vegeta: FUCK ANOTHER SPARE!!!!!!
The game ends with a Bulma sweep, Vegeta does better and piccolo... needs to improve, but it's only his first time. Vegeta's been a couple of times with Trunks like when he got an 80 on his last math final.
Vegeta: ...... That was a good experience.
Piccolo: Haha, yeah. How about we go again.
Bulma: what happened

Dragon Ball Super Manga ch.97-99
Tumblr media
Cell Max is running wild, but don't worry, because Goten and Trunks are here to pad the story give Piccolo and Gohan a breather.
Tumblr media
To be fair, the boys do a little better once they turn Super Saiyan, which kind of begs the question of why they didn't just turn Super Saiyan from the start. This page's sole purpose is to have the Gammas notice their "resemblance" to Saiyaman X-1 and X-2. This would be annoying enough even if they did look alike, but they don't. Look at them! Trunks and Goten have tights and some sort of Stormtrooper midriff thing going on. The Gammas are wearing jodhpurs and bellhop jackets. And Goten and Trunks' color schemes are clearly reversed from one to the other. The Gammas match perfectly except for their red and blue capes.
The only real similarities here are the numbers on their costumes, and the fact that there are two of them. Oh, and Gamma 1 has a red cape, and Goten has a red cape. Eerie! What are the odds of two superheroes having red capes? You almost never see that. I mean, there's Superman, Thor, Great Saiyaman, Dr. Strange, Spawn, Great Saiyaman 2, the Scarlet Witch, Supergirl, Great Saiyaman 3, Power Girl, Steel, but other than those characters, I can't think of anyone else!
Tumblr media
Then they all pose together and attack Cell Max in concert. It looks impressive, but their quadruple-team fails to do any damage. The Gammas acknowledge that Cell Max is still getting used to moving around in his body, so he's not fighting as effectively as he will be later in the story. So that's why Goten and Trunks can do this well without actually hurting their opponent. And that's fair.
What doesn't make a lot of sense is the Gammas' role in this part of the battle. Of everyone involved in this battle, they alone understand the danger Cell Max poses to the world, because Dr. Hedo told them about Max's powers. That's why they went in first when Cell Max first emerged. They knew they had to shut him down as quickly as possible. And they're not rusty like Goten and Trunks, or unfamiliar with their bodies like Cell Max. If there's a window of opportunity here for Goten and Trunks to fight Cell Max without looking outclassed, then you'd think the Gammas would use this chance to target Max's head and finish him off.
Of course, they can't actually do that, since that's not what happened in the movie, but that's the problem I have with all of this. Toyotaro keeps shoehorning Goten and Trunks into this story, and their scenes tend to interfere with the plot instead of adding to it. The Gammas have a cool gimmick and aesthetic with the super hero thing. It works. They don't need two more characters aping that look right beside them. At best it's redundant, and at worst it just cramps their style. It'd be like if Frieza had a teen sidekick following him around repeating everything he says. It would kill his whole vibe.
Tumblr media
Okay, so once Goten and Trunks fuse into Gotenks, the battle plays out mostly like it did in the movie, but there's one part that got changed up and it caused some controversy in the fandom. Remember how Pan almost got killed, and Krillin called out to her and told her to fly, and then she managed to fly for the first time?
So in the manga, Pan has the same moment, except she doesn't take flight. Instead...
Tumblr media
In this version, Krillin just flies over and grabs her. And that makes sense. Why would he just assume she can fly on her own? Why not just zip over and get her? However, this kills the character arc Pan had in the movie. She started the film wishing she could do more advanced training, but Piccolo won't let her because she can't fly yet. Then in this scene, she does fly, and when the movie ends she shows Piccolo and he proudly agrees to start giving her the advanced lessons.
Fans didn't like this version, because Toyotaro appeared to be saying "no" to something the fans enjoyed in the movie. Krillin doesn't need a hero moment in this scene because he gets a couple of hero moments when he helps fight Cell Max. He saves 18 and distracts Cell Max with a solar flare. Krillin's fine. So it sure looks like Toyotaro just scrapped Pan's big moment for no discernible reason. This happened in Chapter 97.
Tumblr media
Hey, check out this cool shot of Orange Piccolo fighting Cell Max.
Tumblr media
Right, back to what I was saying.
So in Chapter 98, Toyotaro redeems himself by having Pan fly for the first time, just in a later part of the battle. When Big Orange Piccolo gives the last senzu bean to Gohan in the movie, Gohan just eats it and that's it. But in the manga, Cell Max attacks Piccolo and knocks it out of his hand. No one can catch it, until Pan goes after it and follows it over a ledge. Gohan's worried, but then it turns out she can fly now so she was never in danger, and she gets to help him this way.
Is it better than the movie? I can see a case for this version, but one thing that bugs me is that it seems a bit contrived for Pan to notice the senzu bean and be able to follow it through the air the way she did. I believe she could and would catch it for her dad. That's fine. But I'm not sure she would understand the need from where she was sitting in Bulma's aircraft.
For that matter, I don't know that it makes sense for Pan to understand what a senzu bean is, or why Gohan would need one so badly. Someone might have explained it to her at some point, but Pan's only three years old. I wouldn't expect her to know everything about everything.
Anyway, it goes to show how much can change from one chapter to another. People were mad about Chapter 97, but only because they didn't have 98 right there in front of them to show them it wasn't that big a deal. This is one major reason why I don't like to read the manga as it publishes.
Tumblr media
From here, well, I think I'm just down to cool shots of the fight with Cell Max.
Tumblr media
I don't think much is different here, but the art is cool, and this is one of my favorite parts of the movie.
Tumblr media
I think this is a manga-only bit. Cell Max works over Piccolo with ki blasts, and it looks like Piccolo blows up, which triggers Gohan's Beast form, but then later it turns out Gamma 1 was protecting Piccolo with his force field, which allowed him to withstand the blast.
Tumblr media
Also, when Cell Max tries to use his wings to escape the attack Gohan has planned, Toyotaro has Gamma 1, Krillin, and 18 cut off his wings. Not sure we needed this, but sure, it gives those characters one more chance to shine.
Tumblr media
And then Piccolo holds Cell Max down and pleads with Gohan to take the shot, and that's the end of chapter 99.
And that gets me all caught up. Now I just have to wait for Chapter 100, which is supposed to drop on December 20. Hopefully, it'll wrap up the Super Hero adaptation, but I wouldn't put it past Toyotaro to drag this thing out another three chapters with some sort of press conference featuring Sergeant Nutz, Saiyaman X-1 and X-2, and Cleangod.
There's been talk of a big surprise twist or something in chapter 100, but I'm not holding my breath. Usually when this franchise has a big announcement, it's about the date for some actual announcement later, and that announcement usually turns out to be something the fans kind of already heard about anyway. "Yes, we will be releasing a Chapter 101" is the sort of thing I would expect them to "announce" in chapter 100.
It would be cool if Chapter 100 ended with Black Frieza showing up and killing Vegeta or something major like that. Or, I don't know, maybe Goten and Trunks turn evil. Those would be shocking developments, but I doubt this manga would go that far. We'll just have to see...

Preview to Dragon Ball New Frontier Time Dead Redemption. Alternate Future Goku centric story.
"Part of me wishes I could still be with her," The alternate version of Goku told his counterpart. It was clear he was in emotional pain. Guilt in his voice and eyes. Tears can even be seen falling down his cheeks. "But.... I'll never change...... I just can't.......”
Goku tried to find the right words to comfort his alternate counterpart but it wasn't easy. “You got to give her time to process everything,” he finally told his alternate self. “Reflect on all of your mistakes, and once you're both finally in the right mindset, try to-” that's when he was cut off by his alternate future version. Even though he wasn't necessarily exactly from the Future Trunks timeline, he knew.
“Will you shut up with that bullshit!?” Future Goku snapped back. “I already know I fucked up!” the more he continued his ranting, the angrier at himself he became towards himself. “No amount of time is going to let her forgive me or address the damn problem! She's done with me! She made that very clear!” And before Goku could even say anything, Future Goku snapped back again. “I'm not going to cling on to false hopes that I can try to communicate the problem at hand. I ain't going to push this even further and fight a losing battle! My version of Chi-Chi is done with me! I broke her trust too many times and now she wants nothing to do with me! No doubt wanting the boys not to speak to me ever again! It's what I fucking deserve!”
“You know that ain't true!” Goku tried to snap back. “you just got to fix a bit of yourself first!”
“I ain't going to change!” Future Goku told him. “And I'm not going to be able to give her the proper amount of time to heal! Nor can I give her to think about what needs to change either! As much as I love her, I have to let her go!”
“Oh yeah?” Goku said sardonically. “And what makes you think that!?”
“Because I don't have much time left!” Future Goku finally said. Beginning the cough after he said that. Pretty nasty cough at that. Goku watched this his eyes widened when he saw blood on his counterparts on hand. His own blood that he coughed up.
“I can tell the whole situation with Chi-Chi isn't the only thing bothering you,” Goku finally said calmly. Clearly wanting to know what was also going on with his counterpart and friend. Maybe this was going to help him understand why Future Goku was giving up on his version of Chi-Chi and their relationship. And accepting the consequences rather than trying to fix it even though there's clearly a possibility for him to. “What's really going on? You okay Future?”
Future Goku didn't understand all the nicknames that everyone gave each other to identify the others with but he played along. Started to see why it was easier to identify people with. Which version of Goku he was talking to for example. Taking a deep sigh after his brief coughing attack, he finally confessed to his friend. “I don't have much time left,” Future Goku said. Taking a deep breath before he was specific. “I'm dying, Hero. I got the demon plague. I got it, beating that Broly we fought a few months back. While dealing with him and that so-called Frieza Red Ribbon gang, just to get an extra bit of money, money that I sent to Chi-Chi anonymously, to cover Goten’s education.”
Goku was shocked by this revelation. He couldn't even believe his eyes as this happened. He couldn't help but feel sorry for his counterpart. It was already bad enough that this version of Future Chi-Chi was actually considering divorcing him in his timeline, but this was even more of a wake-up call than anything Chi-Chi could do. “You know you should have been honest with her that it was for Goten to get his education stuff. She's trying to send it back,” Goku told him sternly. “She's been trying to send it back but because it was anonymous, she couldn't find out who it was.”
“She would have definitely sent it back if she knew,” Future Goku told Goku bluntly. “She wouldn't accept anything I try to give for the boys either, because it would be me trying to win her back, in her eyes.”
Goku just felt a bit of anger towards his alternate future counterpart. Sure his counterpart did screw up, but that wasn't why he was angry at him. He was angry at the fact that he had given up on her so quickly. At least that's what it seemed like. “Demon plague isn't something that kills you in a short amount of time,” Goku explained as calmly as he possibly could as he quickly was trying to figure out what caused him to have this defeated mindset. ”Why the hell would you give up on her like this!?” his anger and impatience was becoming more and more evident as this happened. Even if the Earth Saiyan didn't want to admit it.
“I gave up on trying to make it up and reconcile with her, only a few weeks ago,” the alternate future version of the Earth Saiyan finally admitted. “When I found out I had it…..” the damn fool took a deep breath before finally admitting it. “I was foolish enough not to notice the sign sooner. The early stages that I had it. The slight coughs. The occasional fevers, headaches, chest pains. I was a fool. Buried myself in my own work as a Time Patroller, to escape from the reality I was in with my version of Chi-Chi. Became more reckless too. I assume me getting reckless was how I even got sick in the first place.”
Goku felt his blood boil slightly from hearing every detail that his counterpart was saying. He couldn't help but feel angry at the fact that this version of Goku got so selfish and burying himself in his own duties to try to get away from his reality. All while trying to provide for his family behind the scenes without them knowing that he was okay. He couldn't bash them too much for recklessness. He would be a hypocrite if he did. But he could call him out for the worse recklessness. Getting too reckless. And sure this version of Goku made a drastic mistake, but knowing that he met other versions of himself that were in similar positions, but still managed to make things right to their partners made him want to slap this counterpart in the face. But he couldn't do that. Not until he heard the full thing.
“Wasn’t until I had a massive coughing attack in Conton City, that forced me to go to the doctor, before I found out,” Future Goku added before finishing the last part which caused Goku's eyes to widen in horror. “When I found out I also found out I just entered the terminal stages.”
