another stupid chuuya headcanon where I give him my personal loser traits (with bonus dazai hc too):

hes absurdly shit at handling spicy food. he can't eat it for SHIT it hurts his mouth and is terribly unpleasant. he can and sometimes even will cry if he eats smth too spicy.

despite this he refuses to admit that he has a -10 spice tolerance and will still try and eat it bc he thinks not being able to tolerate spicy food makes him look like a wimp.

it is the one thing he and dazai actually agree on, though dazai's tolerance is somehow slightly worse than chuuya's. baby boy will think black pepper is spicy if there's too much of it.

RANT ABOUT PEOPLES WEIRD ATTITUDE ABOUT SHANE STARDEW VALLEY INCOMING!!!

saw people complaining about shane today and saying he is a bad and awful husband and they divorced him after seeing his room and that he becomes boring after he starts getting therapy because the interesting thing about him is his struggle with addiction and after you "fix him" what's the point of being with him And just?? Why?? Did you even marry him?? Like?? I dunno, people are allowed to have opinions on characters but so many peoples' opinions are just?? Really bad and rooted deeply in ableism and misconceptions about mental health/addiction and are super saviory??

I have said this a thousand times but you can't fix people. That's literally not how people work. You can, however, be there for people and try and create a safe environment for them to be able to help themselves!! AND THATS EXACTLY EHAT FUCKING HAPPEMS IN STARDEW!! Shane gets help ON HIS OWN because he is being supported by both his family and the farmer. And to see that just fucking fly over peoples heads makes me so mad because DID WE PLAY THE SAME FUCLING GAME?? YOU DONT FIX SHIT!! YOU ACT AS PART OF A SUPPORT SYSTEM!! (Which is very important but like) YOU AS A SINGULAR PERSON CANT FIX PEOPLE!!

I also just hate the "I can fix them" attitude because, at least in this specific situation, the people saying this are the same people who divorce him because his room is ugly or because he is implied to relapse and still is depressed??? It feels like the same thing as when someone has "spread kindness!" or "love each other!" in their bio and then is the most rancid hateful person ever? The room thing in particular makes me mad because LIKE WHAT DID YUOU THINK IT WAS GOING TO LOOK LIKE?? YOU SAW HIS ROOM AT MARNIE'S, WHAT MADE YOU THINK HIS ROOM IN YOUR HOUSE WAS GOING TO BE ORGANIZED AND SPOTLESS???

Idk like, again, you can dislike Shane and even regret marrying him. He's not very nice to you until you really get his hearts up there so he comes off as rude and abrasive. You don't HAVE TO LIKE HIM!! But so many people just spout hateful shit and it's like god, I hope you never have anyone in your life who suffers from mental illness because even though Shane is a video game character, the stuff you're saying and the ideas you have surrounding addiction and mental health are super toxic and weird and I hope no real person ever has to be subjected to them.

unironically though i think smt may be one of my current favorite examples of creatively implementing theological concepts into its narratives in a way that completely recontextualizes the roles they play. and i don't necessarily mean in the way that god represents law and lucifer represents chaos which are Nuanced Actually i mean that there's usually god and lucifer but then also a dozen other different names for god and lucifer that are basically the same guy irl but in the context of smt they occupy completely different roles with particular philosophies often all within the same game to the point where you'll have both lucifer and satan and maybe an antichrist/anti-messiah who is neither of the former two people and then god who isn't simply god but YHVH but may also be named the creator but who is also subordinate to a greater will and none of these closely related culturally distinct takes on the same idea will step on eachother's toes and i think it's such a fun way to approach ideas like this

Some questions about LCSYS?

What do they do about hair growth? I'd think hair extensions, but Amane's bangs are really short in her MVs and go past her face in T2, so it seems like it'd be too noticeable?. And Kazui is clean-shaven at the beginning of Cat. Did he record that part shortly after Es went to sleep?

And what about self duplicates? I suppose most of them can get away with camera tricks, but Yuno gets up close and personal with her selves. Amane also has a ton of them that stand close together and move very distinctly.

Ooh, these are really interesting to think about, thank you! >:0 It made me finally look up the length of the canon hiatus (Mar 16 to Aug 3), exactly 20 weeks. The internet says shooting a music video usually only takes like three days to film and a few weeks of editing -- so I think it's doable to plan and film them simultaneously in that time.

I pictured they’d plan the videos immediately upon finishing the trial, to keep the feeling of immersion and all related emotions fresh, but also give them plenty of time to do some more challenging things. This may mean planning trips to certain locations, inviting/persuading certain people to come film, or dealing with hair growth. Kazui does his clean-shaven filming first (since Hinako was already there in Half, it was easy to plan for her to return quickly. Jackalope may have had that worked out before the trial even ended.) Amane is a bit trickier, but I wonder if the bangs themselves are additions 🤔 She wears additional short hair for the video and lets her hair keep growing underneath. She'll be able to grow just over two inches in those 20 weeks. (The thing is, comparing the art, I don’t know if that could’ve happened canonically in that time frame anyways 😅 So I’m allowed to stretch it a bit in the au…)

Now, I was originally thinking they only used camera tricks for any duplicate appearances. Haruka gets a younger stunt double. Fuuta, Shidou, and Mikoto can get by filming the scenes twice in different positions. Yuno has to do a bit with a physical double (seen from behind or used minor effects to make them identical). But now that I think more about it, there was a behind-the-scenes video I saw about the Matrix clones -- despite the mask thing being kinda creepy, I think it’d be incredibly sweet to have that many children on the set. They don’t have to do the full mask process, maybe they all wear wigs/makeup that make them match well enough to show up in the background. Either way, Amane goes from one of the loneliest T1 videos to having a hundred little girls stand around her, march with her, and fight for her <3 If the planning stage of Purge March wasn’t already making her second guess her upbringing, having a literal army of girls just like her hanging out for a few days definitely does.
