OH YEAH i forgot to post abt this yesterday but
made it to the mountain FINALLY!! and i'm mostly recovered from Being Sick! AND i switched cell phone providers since the last time i was up here (from at&t to us mobile (which is rebranded verizon)) so i have four (4!!) WHOLE bars of cell signal up at the disintegrating trailer that passes for living space up here!
(but if anyone from work sends me slack messages im still going to pretend i don't.)

i already answered an ask all about the things i reaaaally like about sheezy!
but being worth it? depends on what youre there for. i just need a more art oriented place to have all my art on so i dont have to update my neocities gallery so much. and also a place to put my nsfw work.
if you're looking to, idk, grow on there im unsure if thats a viable option? like leaving tumblr for it. but ive only been on there a month!
the people on there are quite nice and interactive, lots of chances to get your art seen either through the 'new art' tab, your art is put in 'trending' (got on there twice i believe), or highlights (got that today!) ive also gotten a few awards on art but im unsure what they do besides be cute to look at.
i genuinely enjoy my time there! definitely better than bluesky LOL.

#loz#oot#legend of zelda#ocarina of time#link#i bought one of those n64 controllers for switch#i have no touched an n64 controller in like. over 10 years. its very wild. i also found out ive been holding it wrong.#for like 23 years. sin and punishment has a example of how to open it#anyway i was fishing and i;ve fished in the 3ds version for nearly 10 years now. i was doing it wrong#i was just going for the 15lb fish but it kept getting away and i was spending a lot of time waiting#so i reset the room a couple of times. and ended up pulling a 20lb fish#also the loach was there but I didnt want to fish the loach#n64 oot is SO SLOW. 3ds oot is absolutely the same ass game as the n64 but its exponentially better#i played mm too. it was very smooth. i play n64 mm a lot. dare i say it was easier to play on nso#than it was using the wiiu gamepad. but i might have had practice with oot. which was very clunky#i was also excited about them slowing down the moonfall! i havent seen the proper moonfall since 2010-ish#wii and wiiu is too fast

People on twitter are like "lol the intern should get fired"
Some guy (apparently well known in the splatoon community) makes 18 minute long video about the situation titled: "The Real Life Public Humiliation of a Fictional Social Media Intern"
Ok lol.
"You guys are being way too hard on the intern, who is probably a real person."

Working on some designs for one of my oldest OCs, “Cure” (Patreon)
I also managed to track down some of her initial concept sketches from 2018 - why 2018 considering I called her one of my oldest OCs?
Well, her design has always been rather elusive, even more so since she spent so much time in my head without being brought to paper - even these sketches make mention of it!
Pretty sure she got “Cure” in 2018 too - starting to take form!

Latest would be 2010#Part of her having such a range of uncertainty is that it took me many many years to consider putting her to paper!#She might've existed in 2007 but there's no record! She might've existed in 2010 but no record! I don't think I even wrote about her#She was a completely mentally-extant OC for many many many years#Partially because at the time I had just started drawing and knew I wouldn't be able to put down what was in my head to physicality#And then the longer she stayed in my head the more she became that kind of mental kaleidoscope ever-shifting impossible-to-draw design#But screw that! I have a few years of doodling under my belt now! Even if I can't get her quite right I can at least make an attempt!#It's especially funny because outwardly she is meant to be a pretty generic teddy bear lol - not Exactly but more like the vibe of one#Round and plush and innocent - innocuous#And really she's not like Nefarious or anything lol - she's not what she seems but she also is?? It's hard to explain lol#A lot of it does still come down to subtleties so it actually is still hard to capture but it'll only keep getting harder the longer I wait!#So at least pinning down Some things about her design that I'm happy with and can refer to helps the me down the line haha#The first one is actually pretty close! It's always a coin flip on whether the first one is a disaster or nails it haha#The heart ears and straight body are pretty good tho I gotta say#And honestly it was the little lace-ribbon bracelet that was the deciding factor for me to try drawing her again haha#I had an idea I thought was silly but to do it I needed a design to work with!#Getting there getting there - every little bit closer

#song of the day#it's not at all summer yet but it is spring!!#it's chilly when the wind blows and the dew-damp sticks around until noon but the sun is out and the sky is maybe not clear but close!#spring!!!!#I put my first early plantings in the garden today#I had planned for a bunch of marigolds but I got a different batch of flowers instead#so now what's down is rootings for a bunch of perennial flowers#sea holly and red-hot pokers and butterfly weed and hollyhocks#and then my little pea plants#I told Kelly I'd share pictures but for today it only looks like a square of dirt--I'll definitely share pics when my sprouts come in!!#beautiful beautiful garden times#summer of 2010 when this song came out was the first time in three-ish years I'd spent much continuous time with my family#my littlest siblings were old enough to be away from Mom for a while and still young enough to be lulled to sleep by the car#and Mom was very eager to be left home alone to sleep (and play this weird chicken bowling game she was briefly addicted to)#and so we went on a lot of long leisurely pointless car rides and we listed to a lot of#(I will never not hear this in my head) 96.9 The Kat! country music radio#and this got added to the short list of songs I sang to myself#it's so catchy!! cute fun moderately-bouncy little earworm and my voice cruises up and down it so easy#'when the days start gettin warmer / the sun starts sinkin slower / weekends go by faster / and beer starts tastin colder#wanna tune into a station / takes me on a soul vacation / hey there mister dj / come on won't you please play'#and crucially Dad did not mind this song--which could not be said for 'There Is No Arizona' by Jamie O'Neal#or (after I sang it approximately ninety million times) 'Just What I Do' by Trick Pony#we also had--this was very fun for me--we had exactly one CD we could play in the car (because it was stuck in the disk player)#and that was Joe Diffie's 'Third Rock From The Sun'#so many songs of absolute joy on that album. lucky as hell that Dad agreed because it meant we'd crank it up so loud#close my eyes and let the sun shine all red through my eyelids#sing some real dumbass enjoyable-as-all-getout songs at the top of my absolute voice#Dad laughing and singing along and the littles sleeping through the all of it like the precious babies they were#these are the songs of sunshine and pointless happiness! it's not summer but it will be! my garden doesn't have plants yet but it will!#sing a song!!

#I wish I knew how to do those fancy edits with the gradient colours or whatever#you'll have to make do with the fact that I can make barely passable gifs lol#this interview is so good I could talk about it for a WHILE#Matt talks about how post Twilight; Muse—very much a rock band—have an almost 50-50 split in their audience#at least in the US—somewhat unusual for a rock band#that's an interesting point#because I feel like even at the height of macho rockdom audiences were always fairly evenly split#if they weren't it's saying something about you as an artist lol#of course on actual lineups things were a bit different unfortunately#(I am enjoying saying 'were' since there are now so many incredible bands that aren't just 4 dudes looking at their feet—but then for some#reason that doesn't REFLECT in things like festival lineups so 'were' is a lie)#and it's not that there aren't great acts with women on the instruments and all-female bands and bands with female singers#and bands with nonbinary and trans people leading the way#—like. As someone working in indie/ish radio I see these bands. I hear their music. I play their music. But the festivals like to pretend#there are 3 rock bands ever and no girl has ever professionally played guitar it's annoying#like some festivals are just SO DESPERATE to ignore that there are girls in instrument-based bands. They'll look everywhere else.#They take rock festivals etc. and start adding pop artists so that they can lazily show that they're making an effort at diversity or whate#but they ignore the women literally IN the genre of their festivals. I'll never understand it.#but yeah interesting of Muse to point out in 2010 about their audience.
