canonically, the Four Sword has had 5 individual masters, 4 who wielded it under the name "Four Sword" and 3 who have only wielded it as the "Four Sword" individually, and yet the fandom commonly only depicts these heros as 1 or more commonly 2 people??? 3 if we r lucky??? why tho?????

the Hero of Men(Minish Cap Prologue), Hero of the Minish(Minish Cap), 1st Hero of the Four Sword(Four Swords Prologue), 2nd Hero of the Four Sword(Four Swords), and the 3rd Hero of the Four Sword(Four Sword Adventures) r all canonically different people who lived at least a century if not more apart??? long enough for everyone besides the last 2 to become less history more legends in the next Hero's time?????

the Four Sword is the second most powerful weapon in loz, its history is rlly interesting and rich...its nearly as old as Hyrule itself and is the only ancient blade other than the Master sword to have more than 2 Links master it bc iirc the Phantom Blade and Lokomo Sword just have the Hero of Wind and Hero of Spirits

...SO WHY IS IT SO UNDERRATED??? like man yall sleepin on the interesting explorations u could have w/ each Link's relationship to the sword and its legacy but instead shove them all into two ppl or ONE GUY and erase that long history behind the blade and its role in keeping Hyrule safe for CENTURIES in a row w/out need for the master sword to the point ppl in Hyrule have multiple legends and at least 1 festival surrounding its mythos

also?? Vaati is the only villan to be the final boss other than Ganon in multiple games, he was the final boss in 2 and shows up in 3! hes a big deal!!! even if Ganon outranks him he is still a threat Hyrule faced for centuries??? dont downplay him to only face 2 heros when he faced at least 3 maybe 4 but idk if the first Hero of the Four Sword canonically fought Vaati or if it was something vague like the Hero of Men's adversary...still he has history and by the time of Four Swords Adventures hes fucking ANCIENT like easily the oldest not divine being in Hyrule by a LARGE margin at that point in canon...

like, i get merging the second and third hero of the Four Sword bc like...Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures COULD be seen as the same Link bc the games flow into eachother well and for years ppl assume they were the same guy! thats cool, i do not mind this, but still there was another dude who wielded the sword before them in the prologue of Four Swords and then there is the guy who forged the legendary blade like long enough ago for it to be a myth and ALSO the guy who used the blade first and sealed away every single monster for at least a century and was important enough to get a festival...yeah dont forget about those guys even if only 1 of them had a game at least acknowledge the other 2 also had the sword dont just ignore them or merge them into the Links who had games that defeats the purpose of them being in legends...

like, to me, its about legacy and responsibility and repeating history and not about one boy with one rlly cool sword he made/found but a line of Heros who history has not cared to remember in favor of those blessed by the blade of evil's bane...and yall rlly just do not see the irony there when the fanon does not merge every Link who wielded the master sword together into 1 or 2 guys off the basis they *check notes* mastwred the same legendary blade at different times in history

okay, bc i have seen this argument alot now (and it also seems to be the view point of aonuma himself..) is that "zelda cant do everything link does bc whats the point then"

and i take personal offense on that bc its a stupid argument (in. my. very. personal. opinion.- not judging people for liking it. its a ME thing)

whats the point? its that its her. its still a different character, different in story, background, personality, but i WANT to play zelda and she can do everything link does, why does she have to be so restricted and be bend over backwards to find some new way to make her 'useful' when link gets to do basically everything no questions asked (the only thing thats hers is like .. sealing power and sacrificial maiden, which i find a little underwhelming to say the least), if theres no point to it why are there always modders that model swap link with someone else, and in that case it has even less impact bc its an artificial model swap with no changes to the story (which can and should still be different when its the vanilla game with a different protagonist... its still a different character), clearly theres joy in just the model being a different one- and that isnt even to mention the story possibilities, since, again, its stil a different character

if we ever (never ... i know who we are talking about here) get to play as ganondorf i want to him to be just as versatile and active as link is, if we got a point and click adventure game for him instead bc 'whats the point' id be disappointed too- you can find any sort of excuse/explanation for zelda to be singled out but the fact remains it tracks with how female characters are often treated, and that hits a very sore spot for me

i guess i am unfortunately one of those annoying people that want to see female characters be treated exactly the same as male characters, possibly bc i am myself afab but identify as agender and have a deeply personal dislike for anything 'traditional' feminine bc i cannot and never will be able to truly live as myself in real life, it influences all of my work, my work is as just as much as my opinion on this, very personal

and in line with my point about modding, i see theres joy in just beign able to play as her even if its like this, i get that, i also get it for the creative aspect (though that mechanic worries me even more for the future bc it really seems to be the path now that -freedom = good, linear anything = bad-) it is a different idea and its not like i cant see that value- im not trying be "right" either, just bc i have that opinion doesnt mean i need everyone to agree, its a very personal thing, if you like it good for you! not for me though, and i think both of that is equally valid

i just personally wish she was allowed to be just like link, fight just like him but be different bc its still her and not him in the end- to be physically/playstyle like jsut like him, but you know ... as her, i dont think shed stop being zelda if she could wield a sword just like him

i dont really know how to get my point/feelings across, i dont want to step too much into personal stuff nor spam people with something that ultimately doesnt interest me alot, im just saddened by it really

The cave of a thousand gods reveal in TGCF is honestly so terrifying and it’s written in a way that’s supposed to make you fear HC in the same way that MQ and FX is so terrified of HC being XL’s longest standing stalker. But then you reel TGCF all the way back to the start, from XL saving HC from falling from that bridge, but also him giving HC the will to live when he wanted to die, then yk maybe it’s kinda a no brainer that when HC is at his worst (mentally and physically) at Tonglu mountains, that he would find refuge in 1) art, and 2) the person whom he admires most and swears to return to. The entire narrative of TGCF is so dramatically determined by the narrator that sometimes it’s hard to even realise how harrowing and difficult it was for HC to survive mount Tonglu the first time, and that the those statues and paintings were also probably a coping mechanism for a soul desperately hanging on to what good is left in their world, rather than simply pure obsession.

in my brain, wulf is more outwardly unhinged but ulf has more of a borderline-sadistic streak to him. like, ulf generally has more chill and is less likely to start a fight due to petty provocation (read: wulf will fight without hesitation if someone says shit about ulf or the herons), but if he does start a fight, it's Really not going to end well for the person on the other end of his axe. wulf will cleave your head off if he finds enough of a reason to, while ulf will break your fingers before cleaving your head off — but usually for good reason.

wulf has a stronger sense of duty towards ulf as an individual than he does towards the crew, while ulf is the opposite. both of them go for outrageous arguments shamelessly pulled out of the ass, but while wulf is more likely to be genuinely baffled by ulf's claims, ulf is more likely to fall into a wormhole of trying to actually disprove wulf's claims. i swear there's a difference but they still have an equal tally of losses in stupidity, and ulf's love of philosophy/aspiration to be an art connoisseur has not helped him win shit. oh also wulf likes flowers and chickens and is best friends with stefan idk why it just makes sense

in short, both are dumbasses, but they are also two individual dumbasses and flanagank is too lazy to make a consistent distinction most of the time. i don't think he's ever met an actual pair of twins before in his life tbh. also wulf is on the left and ulf is on the right

i guess it’s that time of year again where everyone says good omens is queer baiting because crowley and aziraphale haven't expressed physical affection and desire and so it’s that time of year again where i mention how much this representation means to asexual and aromantic / aspec people and saying that having two characters (i refrain from saying men as crowley is confirmed genderfluid by the way, which people tend to ignore, i don’t know how you can call a show with genderfluid and non-binary characters ‘nothing but queerbaiting’) have to kiss or have sex to be queer is actually pretty hurtful to people in your own community. crowley and aziraphale not kissing doesn’t make them less queer, also he hasn’t confirmed that there won’t be a romance and keeps saying ‘wait and see’ because 1. he doesn’t want to spoil the show 2. he  likely cannot spoil the show legally without getting into trouble

every time i think the fandom is past this, you’re not. and i understand, i understand what it would mean to have a show like this have two leads played by actors of the same gender kiss. but a lot of the fandom who throw around the queerbaiting term (which means something was set up and not followed through on which isn’t true by the way, there’s plenty of room to interpret aziraphale and crowley as platonically in love) always seem to ignore the aspec people who talk about how much this representation means to them and there’s even less aspec representation out there and queer-platonic-partner representation in mainstream media than there is gay romances. and unless some kind of deal with amazon prime is stopping him, if anyone watched gaiman’s other show this year, the sandman, i think it’s safe to say he doesn’t care about cramming as many gay, lesbian, bi and non-binary characters as he wants into his shows. perhaps if he’s not putting a romantic/sexual relationship with aziraphale and crowley it’s because he doesn’t feel it’s right for those characters to express their love that way, they are his characters after all, and maybe they are in love romantically, but they’ll never have sex, or never want to kiss, but they’ll say their i love yous in season two.

it’s a little silly to accuse a show of queerbaiting when the show isn’t out yet, we don’t know what will happen, and containing accusations of queerbaiting and homophobia towards neil gaiman because of good omens despite the release of the sandman tv show and the representation in that show. i understand the want for more on screen queer kisses, but i don’t think it’s accurate to accuse the show of queerbaiting. maybe use that term for shows that have actually done that and had harmful representation, homophobic representation, transphobic representation, shows that have actually caused actual hurt to real lgbt+ people, not just shows that have made you really want two characters to kiss and then disappointed you even though the characters have still been confirmed to be in love, just that love works differently for them than it does for us, and that at least one of the characters in canonically not-cis and the other might be as well. the first show with genderfluid representation that yes could have been more explicit but god it could have been actively transphobic like a different fandom show, the first main fandom show i’ve seen to have characters with they/them pronouns, with neopronouns, just.... i get that good omens means a lot to people, it gave us a lot of hope, but this isn’t he show to go cancel culture on because it hasn’t let the two characters having the slowest long burn of history be ready to kiss yet, or even have to kiss to prove they’re in love

this is just my opinion as a gay trans aspec person who definitely relates to aziraphale taking thousands of years to realise he’s in love and decades later still not be ready to kiss the person he’s in love with. i love my partner, we’ve been together close to a year, and i’m still not ready and comfortable to engage in kisses nor sex yet, and some aspec people will never be ready for that or never want that at all, so yes aziraphale and crowley can be in love and not be ready to smooch yet and it doesn’t make them any less in love. it will say i would like the i love yous to be said i the show and not just on twitter, but then again maybe they’re not ready to say it out loud yet.

queerbaiting would be if he said ‘yes omg they’re gonna be so gaaayy’ and then the show comes up and they aren’t gay at all. kinda like idk some big superhero franchise keeps doing. that’s actually queerbaiting. but if doesn’t say they’ll be any romance between them and then there isn’t... that isn’t queerbaiting. subtext and setting love up between them in season one, doesn't mean it has to be romantic or sexual love and i know so many hurt lgbt+ people got their hopes up that this ship would kiss on screen but.. them not kissing.. doesn’t make it queerbaiting, because we weren’t promised that, it just seemed more likely than in other shows given that we know gaiman is alright with putting queer characters in his media... and given we know that idk how anyone can call him a homophobe of transphobe

but who knows. i don’t. and you don’t. because the show literally isn’t out yet. so perhaps given that it isn’t out yet, we can’t and shouldn’t accuse it of anything until it’s actually out otherwise we run the risk of looking very silly

so recently I have been making AUs and this one in particular (i've been coming around to calling it DEATHKUZA) is a Death Note/Yakuza AU and Kiryu acts as L and Majima as Light. Their dynamic is basically the same but they actually DO end up falling for each other. Majima looks and acts edgelord extreme in this but is actually somewhat of a sweetheart (despite the killings) and Kiryu is... well just Kiryu but autism somehow cranked up more. I have so much to say about it but take this.

sniper's loft bed headcanons pls 👁️👁️

omg.,., ehehe.,., i’m soo glad you asked this is something i am Not at All Insane About.,., ehee.,., and i actually think its probably for the best that i elaborate on this here since there really isn’t a graceful way to fit posts like this within a fic SKDFKSD so!! let’s get to it! starting off by saying i’ve been in and out of motorhomes, trucks with camper shells, vans, etc my entire life (though i would be doing it a lot more in my adult life if i could find ways to not have Every Bug On Earth eat me alive ;_; gwah!) so i guess i’m just a little biased for what i see In My Mind. i have yet to sketch out/floorplan out sniper’s van layout itself In My Mind but let’s just keep it vague enough to say it’s nothing flashy, but it’s cozy and Aged and… lived in! i’ve talked about it before in one of my Many headcanon posts but i think he was always taught that he doesn’t need material things and while i wouldn’t say he’s a hoarder by any means, i think he tries to convince himself everything in his home has a Practical Application just so he can justify hanging onto it! i think sniper is v sentimental and the stuff he chooses to keep might be a little “unconventional” by average standards (ie he doesn’t have lots of photos of his family, but kept his mum’s handmade quilts and his dad’s old knife and hunting rifle. also presses flowers and would keep the eggshell of when he and medic first ate breakfast in bed together, etc) but i could ALSO make a whole other post about just little knicknacks i think you’d find in sniper’s home at any given time HEHE… but i’m doing my best to stay on track so!!

i’m going to preface this with IM SORRY for the “pinterest looking ass” photos to describe what i’m talking about but just use this as a Basic Jumping Off Point. Not as the Literal Visual. work with me here… so i think sniper’s bed has LOTS of pillows and blankets. if you’ve ever slept in one of those loft bed camper van beds you’d know that those walls are cold and hard and don’t really hold heat in all that well! i think the blankets are a combination of furs he has (though he rolls up and stores them when its hot out), sherpa/wool, knit blankets and quilts, etc. all of different sizes and weights. whatever makes him comfortable! pillows are extremely worn in (as are the blankets; you could find lots of mends on them!) and comfortable just the way sniper likes them. i think he has so many layers because he sleeps naked and likes to be able to adjust what parts of his body are covered and what parts aren’t. he’s the king of sticking one of those loooong legs out of the covers, or having only his tummy covered and the rest of him exposed, etc! he likes being able to change things quickly to suit his needs. this is also great for draping something over his shoulders when he’s laying out on top of his van at night watching the stars or sitting in a lawn chair feeding hoots!

the space is small, so i think he’d also have a “nightstand” which really is just a “coffeetable book” (ie a big-ish hard cover book) of some subject he’s interested in that he’d keep pressed against the “long wall” of the camper that has just a battery-powered plastic lantern (for reading before bed ehe) on it, a worn-out old book of poetry or some kind of book he’s read a thousand times that he likes skimming before bed (this is not to be confused with the Utility Books he reads at others times about survivalism, gun cleaning, etc. this is a Wind Down Specific book), and aheh, when he starts really falling for medic, something else too… but i’ll discuss that later in my fics! ;-) if i’m being really self-indulgent i think he also has a stuffed animal from his childhood that he’s still hung onto all these years, but he keeps him stored away safely in a pillowcase because he doesn’t want it getting lost or damaged! :’( also he’s just a huge cuddlebug imo, so he likes having things he can Grab or fling his leg or arm over in his sleep (pillows, bunched up blankets, etc)! the space is small but he makes it very homey! HEHEHE
