The Steven Universe fandom. Okay look, I LOVE Steven Universe but, the fandom is just so fucking toxic. You probably heard about the fanartist who attempted suicide because she was being harassed by members of the fandom because they felt like her art was problematic, accusing her of fat-shaming and such, yea, that was a thing that happened, also, I hate that the fandom is shipping characters with Peridot. If you didn’t know, Peridot is an official Acoace character, who is still being aggressively shipped. I got into Steven Universe like, really late, and I thought: “Hey, I really like the show, why don’t I check on the fandom to see what people like me who also like it have to say” and when I did, I was reasonably disgusted, if I’m being completely honest, I stepped away from the show after looking at the fandom. Point is, the fandom isn’t cute, it’s toxic and very harmful, and i didn’t want to be associated with that kind of shit. Thanks for the ask btw! ILYSM!!! ❤️❤️❤️
