Like hard-line yes to the point that I have an entire mini fic exploring it because so many people want to see how Winter's jealousy manifests.

I'm really excited to dig into it and I'm like really worried about giving stuff away, but Winter is jealous and incredibly possessive.

He's not exactly threatened by other people flirting with Simon, but he does take it as a personal offense and it's the number one way to burn a bridge with The Winter Kingdom.

I like thinking about Winterkov in like, a sort of character exploration sense. Winter King as framed as a kind of representation of everyone's praise of Ice King, of Simon's feelings of inadequacy, of Simon's desire to be good enough. Winterkov as a sort of metaphor for romanticizing the parts of yourself that look good, but are unhealthy and harmful under the surface. Winter King as a physical what if I was stronger, better? for Simon, and Simon wanting to cling to the Winter King so he can pretend.

Of course, this would all be from Simon's perspective. The Winter King simply sees a hot guy who happens to be an alternate version of himself and goes "Oh this is a win win for me."

Is it healthy? No. Would kicking the Winter King's ass get Simon kickstarted on therapy? Probably. After all, nothing like beating up the physical representation of your toxic idealized self to really get you thinking about self worth. Probably. I don't have an english degree, I'm doing my best.

So.... episode 6, huh. I'm just gonna be frank and say that I 100% ship the Winter King with Simon. These two old men should kiss, and I'm not about to act like I'm saying this in a joking way either. However, I do have a few things to say in regard to this ship.

Firstly, I get the people that don't ship Winterkov or say that they're joking whenever they make post about it, but there are people that do genuinely ship these two together. I get how self-shipping has gotten a bad rep due to the oncler and certain undertale shippers, but at its core, shipping is just supposed to be in good fun. Winterkov in itself is goofy in a way that's all in good fun.

If that makes you uncomfortable, that's also valid. Just don't tell me about it, and feel free to block. I don't really post on Tumblr much, but if I start to, one can possibly expect some Winterkov propaganda. Of course, the power of old man yaoi changed that.

If that makes me cringe...

Also, in regards to the name, can we all just simultaneously agree to use the tag of Winterkov over Simoncest? The name Simoncest makes me think of incest which just isn't the case at all for this ship. Winter and Simon are two completely different characters, and the name Winterkov just sounds so much better. Plz and thank you.

Three things seem to happen all at once: first, Simon's stunned "WHAT!" then Cake's fur fluffing up and eyes dilating into thin lines and finally Fionna's covering her barely hidden grin. Gunther just keeps on clapping, although the smacks seem to have increased in tempo.

Simon whirls around to face this-this-! Winter King or whatever nonsense he calls himself and tamps down the confusing heat rising to his cheeks, letting his initial surprise and delayed (fake) disgust show on his face instead.

"Now, listen here-!"

But, of course--of course--the Winter Hooligan sees the cracks in Simon's mask and goes for the kill, leaning into Simon's space with a leer and a hand winding around Simon's waist.

Which.

Oh, dear.

Simon shudders.

Winter King grins, razor sharp and so wide that his eyes crinkle at the sides, gaze hungrily taking every micro expression Simon can't properly hide.

"Oh, that is such a lovely expression, my dear Simon," Winter King downright croons.

Speechless, Simon can only gulp.

While he hasn't taken his attention away from Simon, the Winter King says to their temporarily-forgotten and half-amused, half-exasperated audience, "That's that! If all of you would excuse us, this won't take long."

That kicks Simon into action. "Wait, what are you-!"

The yelp that came out of Simon when Winter King heaves Simon into his arms in a princess hold is drowned out by Fionna and Cake's agreements and well wishes which, rude. The nerve, the absolute gall of his so-called 'friends'! Simon just knows there's an ironic edge to what just happened but he's a little too flustered and a whole lot of flabbergasted to put up a proper fight.

With a snap! of slender fingers ringing in his ears and a split second of snow obscuring his vision, Simon is suddenly standing inside the Winter King's domain, glistening ice fractals and piles of snow at the corners and all.

And a canopied king-sized bed pushed to the farthest wall.

Simon feels like he'd stepped into that one sauna he had indulged in back home, heat invading his body. But now, the beginnings of---something stirs right below his navel.

Jumping at the sudden pressure and the searing coldness around his waist, Simon snaps his gaze to the side (away from the bed, thank you very much!) and locks eyes with a too-close Winter King. The ensuing jolt isn't much of a deterrent, it seems, as the Winter King crowds further into his space until Simon presses his back to the cold wall of Winter King's domain.

His breath hitches, warm air leaving his lips and fogging the space between them.

"Shall we, sweet Simon?"

As much as I love winterkov, I'd like to make a pitch to you for a slightly different ship - Winter King and Hunson Abadeer. I know Hunsimon was this archaic ship from the early times and has essentially been put out to pasture. But like, just imagine in TWK's universe where both of marceline's dads are grieving over her and finding solace in each other, them just helping each other through their grief.

Their also both awful people that would definitely enable each other in being terrible awful people in the funnest way. Then add on the fact that Hudson, a demon, would have a naturally super high body temperature, and Winter naturally has a super low body temperature. There's a Lotta fun stuff that could be done with these two, and no one has seen my vision.

Oh my gosh Anon I can't believe it took me this long to finish this drawing lol. Honestly I'm surprised I've never heard of this ship before, it's soooo juicy with angst! Esp with the introduction of Winter King. So here's my hc:

Hunson misses his daughter terribly, but his aloof nature and intense guilt keeps him from being able to process that sadness.

Winter is inconsolable when he is freed from the crown's madness.

They then begin to play a dangerous game where Hunson sucks away pieces of Winter's soul just to feel something. And Winter is slowly stripped away of his crippling depression, but at the cost of his empathy and kindness. Making him the cold and apathetic person we meet in F&C.

Though Andrew also seems to have some power over her, by the fact that he's the only person she likes and talks to (especially after the quarantine driving everyone else away) and without him, she would be completely alone, giving that little touch of codependency to their relationship."
